Molly-Mae Hague removes PLT from Instagram bio

OHMYGOSSIP — Molly-Mae Hague has removed all traces of PrettyLittleThing from her Instagram bio after stepping down as creative director role to focus on motherhood.
The former ‘Love Island’ star, 24, walked away from the position after 22 months, to turn more of her attention to her four-month-old daughter Bambi – who she has with her boyfriend Tommy Fury, 24.
However, she has insisted that she will remain with the fashion brand as an ambassador, although there is no mention of it in her current Instagram bio, which only references her position as CEO of her fake tan brand, Filter, and the handle of her home/interiors account , alongside her agent’s contact details.
Molly – who was reportedly paid £400,000 a month for the role – confirmed the announcement on her YouTube channel, telling viewers: “A lot of people have been asking me about PLT creative director, how’s the role going, how’s everything going with PLT, and everything is going incredibly with PLT… I will forever have the most insane relationship with PLT… they are literally my family. I am still working with them and doing collections and edits, but I have actually decided to step down as my creative director role.
“Over the last few weeks, I have realised that I’m only going to get this time once with my first-born child and I’m only going to get Bambi being four months old once and I feel like I’ve had to rearrange my life a little bit and lose some commitments that I did have.
“Myself and PLT have decided collectively that as much as the creative director role was incredible and I have literally loved being the creative director of PLT more than anything it was such an amazing chapter for me it has naturally come to an end.
“I am a mum now and I never really gave myself a maternity leave and I got straight back into work instantly because my work is my phone and showing my life is my work. The last thing I would want to be is in a role that I can’t fulfil right this moment.
“There is no drama, there is absolutely no tea … nothing has gone on.”

Fame Academy’s Carrie Grant says chronic Crohn’s disease has inspired her work

OHMYGOSSIP — Former ‘Fame Academy’ star Carrie Grant is grateful to have had Crohn’s disease because it has inspired all her work.
The 57-year-old vocal coach has lived with the inflammatory bowel disease for the past four decades, and nearly died from the condition in 1998.
Carrie’s varied career has seen her represent the UK at the 1983 Eurovision Song Contest as part of the group Sweet Dreams with their song ‘I’m Never Giving Up’, appear as a judge on BBC talent shows ‘Fame Academy’ and ‘Comic Relief Does Fame Academy’ and work behind the scenes on ITV star search show ‘Pop Idol’, as well making regular appearances on ‘The One Show’ and co-hosting children’s programme ‘Carrie and David’s Popshop’ with her husband David Grant.
Without her struggles with Crohn’s, Carrie doesn’t think she would have achieved half as much as she has in her life, including her charity commitments.
Appearing on podcast ‘The Doctor Will Hear You Now’, she said: “I think I’ve led this life because I’ve got Crohn’s. It’s made me want to go on trips all over the developing world, where there are no toilets, and just go ‘I will work this out’, when I’ve got to go to the loo in a bush, which I have. I am like, you know what, this is not gonna hold me back.
“I feel like this chronic disease has given me gratitude for life, because next month, I could get a flare up and end up in hospital. “In 1998, I nearly died of Crohn’s, and I think back to those times, and I’m like, ‘I gotta live this life’. I appreciate it. That’s why I’ve done all I’ve done. Every time, I’m like, ‘Let me campaign about something’, ‘let me write something’, ‘let me make something’, ‘let me be a mentor and a coach’, ‘let me perform all these things!’. I just want to grab life and do it.”
Carrie – who has four neurodivergent children with David – looks bask on her hospitalisation with Crohn’s as a defining moment in her life which inspired her work as a “writer and songwriter”.
She said: “I think when I spent those two months in hospital at the age of 23, it just changed me. It made me say: I am not accepting that this is the end, and if it means I’m in a hospital bed, then I’ll just become a writer, a poet, a songwriter; things I can do that are less mobile… I want to lead that big life because you just don’t know how long you’ve got. I feel so grateful for life.”
‘The Doctor Will Hear You Now’ podcast is hosted by practising NHS GP and media medic Dr Zoe Williams.
In partnership with Bupa, the 10-episode podcast series – produced by Insanity Podcasts, part of Insanity Group – sees Dr Zoe joined by celebrity guests who have been impacted by a range of health conditions.

Eva Longoria says there were ‘no efforts’ to include Latinos in film when she started career

OHMYGOSSIP — Eva Longoria says there were “no efforts” to include Latinos in film when she started her career.
The ‘Desperate Housewives’ actress, 48, has spent the last decade building up directing credits and has released her feature directorial debut, Searchlight’s ‘Flamin’ Hot’ – which tells the story of Richard Montañez, a factory janitor turned marketing executive who channelled his Mexican heritage into the launch of the Flamin’ Hot Cheeto.
Eva said when asked by The Hollywood Reporter for her view on Latino representation and diversity in film: “I’m like, ‘Well, I made one film, and we have a long way to go. Imagine when we have two films. Imagine when we have three films!’
“It wasn’t as big of a conversation as it is now. The word ‘diversity’ gets thrown around so much today. Back then, there were really no efforts or programs or initiatives.”
She added about her success in TV: “I became this poster child. ‘Yay! One of us made it! A Latina’s on a major show!’”
But Eva said her relentless filming schedule on ‘Desperate Housewives’ left her burned out.
She added: “I was like, ‘I can’t breathe.’ I had PTSD from 24 episodes a year.”
The ‘Housewives’ shooting schedule ran for roughly 11 months of the year, which put Eva off taking up more TV offers.
She added: “I got (offered) everything, and I turned everything down.”
Eva also said she feared being thought of as a “dumb” actor when she pivoted into directing.
She added: “The industry’s definitely wary of an actor coming in (to direct.) For me, it was about overcoming that. It wasn’t sexism or racism.
“It was like, ‘Here comes a dumb actor.’”

‘The bellies aren’t in the way!’ Strictly stars James and Ola Jordan having ‘best sex ever’

OHMYGOSSIP — Ola Jordan is feeling “more confident” in the bedroom since losing weight.
The 40-year-old TV star has been married to fellow ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional James Jordan since 2003 and after they both admitted to putting on weight during the COVID-19 lockdowns, they have now been on a health kick and she has now explained that the “spark is definitely back.”
She told The Sun newspaper’s Fabulous magazine: “The spark is definitely back. James is proper fit, I fancy him so much. The bellies aren’t in the way any more and, naturally, because I’m fitter I feel better in myself and have more confidence. So when I put a dress on and my husband goes, ‘Oh, that’s a nice dress, I like that’, and I go, ‘Darling, I’ve had this dress for years, I just couldn’t fit in it’, of course, it makes you feel good. Then you think, ‘Oh, I’m possibly sexier in the bedroom’, so it then follows into being more confident in the bedroom. There’s lots of short bursts of energy!”
James went on to add that he can now be more physical than before with Ola and is pleased that she felt able to post an image to social media that showcased their weight gain towards the end of last year because of how many people could relate to them.
He added: “Now I can lift her and throw her about in the bedroom a bit more! People were really happy she did post the picture because they said it made her more relatable, which is true.
“There are lots of people in a very similar position. Ola said she wasn’t in a good place, wasn’t happy with where she was with her body, and unfortunately there’s so many other people out there like that.
“I’m all for body positivity, and if people are happy in their own skin and they don’t want to do anything about it, that is also fine.
“But let’s not forget there’s a lot of people in those positions that aren’t happy and want to do something about it. And they are the ones that we really want to help.”

Ronan Keating thinks The Voice Kids contestants are ‘mesmerising’

OHMYGOSSIP — Ronan Keating thinks ‘The Voice Kids’ contestants are “mesmerising”.
The former Boyzone star is keen to “keep the dream alive” for the seven to 14-year-old entrants but is always blown away by their bravery as he can’t help but think of his own children – who include Jack, 24. Missy, 22, and Ali, 17, with his ex Yvonne Connolly and Cooper, six, and Coco, three, with his wife Storm, 41 – when he sees them perform.
The 46-year-old singer told the Sun newspaper: “I have kids the same age as some of the talent that stood on stage, and to see them with such confidence and such ability at that age is mesmerising.
“I am always honest, but sometimes it is hard as these kids are just starting out on their journeys.
“You want to keep the dream alive and give them the right criticism in the most positive way.”
Ronan’s fellow judge Will.I.am – who sits alongside McFly star Danny Jones, 37, and singer Pixie Lott, 32, on the panel on the series, which will kick off this Saturday at 7.30 pm on ITV1 and ITVX – praised one of his mentees and her “advanced” songwriting ability.
The 48-year-old rapper told the same paper: One of my team wrote this song, and I said to her, ‘No way.’ It was like, wow!
“She is just so advanced at songwriting already.
“There are some adults that I know that aren’t nearly as good at writing.
Host Emma Willis – who is mother to Isabelle, 13, Ace, 11, and Trixie, seven, with her husband, Busted star Matt, 40 – remarked how “well” the kids cope under pressure after beginning her own career as a teenage model.
The 47-year-old presenter told the outlet: “You are willing them on and they just take it all so well.”
She added: “There are times I have stressed out and worried about going on to the stage.
“I think if [at an early age] I had had a glimpse of what these kids do, it wouldn’t intimidate me so much as I got older.”

The 55-year-old filmmaker told Variety: “As a filmmaker, the idea of creating diverse and dynamic stories constantly keeps me on my toes. What excites me about this partnership with Netflix, which is home to some of the finest talent, is the potential for my work to reach viewers across the world. As was the case with ‘Scoop,’ Netflix is engaged in the creative process right from the scripting, all the way to its marketing and distribution, which is critical for the success of any creative collaboration. Greta Lee reveals her inspiration

OHMYGOSSIP — Greta Lee wanted to have an “athletic ability” as an actress.
The 40-year-old actress stars as Nora in the romantic drama ‘Past Lives’ and explained that her inspiration as an actress actually came in the form of Val Kilmer, when he took on the role of a high tech thief and master of disguise in the 1997 thriller ‘The Saint’.
She told Collider: “This is gonna be maybe surprising, but [I was inspired by] Val Kilmer in the movie ‘The Saint’. Hear me out! There’s something about that performance and as a little girl watching, I wanted to be able to, one day, tap into that kind of athletic performance ability. If you remember from the movie, and maybe you don’t because not everyone is an extreme Saint head like myself, he plays a multitude of different characters in such an exquisite, fully immersive way with so much commitment and I just felt like, as a girl, if I could do that, there was something that was just electric about that. I remember feeling distinctly like, ‘Oh my god, I want to be like Val Kilmer.’ I still feel this way!”
‘The Morning Show’ star went on to add that after working on the stage with the likes of ‘Absolutely Fabulous’ actress Dame Joanna Lumley and then working with comedienne and ‘Mean Girls’ star Tina Fey, she has been able to play characters whom she loves “so dearly” but her fellow performers have been “instrumental” in her success.
She said: “I started out doing Broadway. I was in a show called ‘Spelling Bee’, and then I also did this play called La Bête with Mark Rylance and David Hyde Pierce, Joanna Lumley. And at the time, I kind of was just moving towards where the work was. It felt very much like, I’m gonna go where I’m chosen to be, and it wasn’t until — I came up around this incredible time of young women, mostly in the comedic world, Lena Dunham, Amy Schumer, Abbi [Jacobson] and Ilana [Glazer] [from] Broad City, obviously Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, who were really creating the space where I was able to work, and I’m so grateful for that and everything I got out of that and playing these ridiculous characters [who] I love so dearly. But that was instrumental to the formation of my little artist self at that time.”

Makers and stars of ‘No Hard Feelings’ defended film against accusations its plot is creepy

OHMYGOSSIP — The makers and stars of ‘No Hard Feelings’ have defended the film against criticism its plot is creepy.
It shows Jennifer Lawrence’s 32-year-old character hired by a couple of helicopter parents to “date” their 19-year-old son, played by Andrew Barth Feldman – which has sparked backlash on social media and among critics due to the concept of hiring a woman and the pair’s age difference.
Matthew Broderick, 61, who plays Andrew’s dad in the film, told The Hollywood Reporter: “I guess what happens is when a kid goes off to school, it’s so frightening that they’ll be happy and they’ll make friends and they’ll take care of themselves that some parents go to any length to make that transition work.
“And it’s a hard time. I’ve been through it. But you really have to let them make it on their own. But these parents decide to mess with nature.”
Laura Benanti, 43, who plays Matthew’s wife in the movie, admitted the concept of hiring a woman to seduce someone’s son is “insane”.
But she added about how it is a satire on parenting styles: “It’s a cautionary tale. If you are a helicopter parent who puts your child in such a bubble, they do not know how to exist outside of that bubble, you are going to make the exact opposite and insane choice, which is what they are doing here.
“I feel like it is a very satirical look at what can happen if you do not give your children a longer leash to figure things out for themselves. Otherwise, you’re going to end up curating their life forever.”
The film’s premise is based on a real advertisement on Craig’s List posted a decade ago.
In one scene, Jennifer Lawrence’s character asks when she is being hired to “date” a teen: “Do you mean date him or DATE him?”
Matthew’s character replies: “Date him hard,” prompting Jennifer’s to reply:
“I’ll date his brains out.”
Writer-director Gene Stupnitsky, 45, said: “It didn’t really matter what happened and if anyone answered (the Craig’s List ad.)
“It was just, who are these parents, these helicopter parents who are putting this ad out and who’s their son, what’s going on there? And who answers this?”
“If you feel that way (creeped out) when you come out of the movie, I would be surprised.
“We took great pains to be careful about the ick factor because it could go that way… we took a humanist approach and I think that’s all you can ask for.”

Angela Bassett worked out for 12 hours and had zero time to eat when playing Tina Turner

OHMYGOSSIP — Angela Bassett worked out for 12 hours and had no time to eat when she played Tina Turner in ‘What’s Love Got to do With It’.
The 64-year-old ended up with a best actress Oscar nomination for playing Tina in the harrowing 1993 film, which charted Tina’s brutal years with her abusive husband Ike Turner, who subjected her to years of physical and mental torment so severe it left the late singer with PTSD.
In an interview with Variety to mark the 30th anniversary of the film about the ‘Private Dancer’ singer, who died in May aged 83 at her home in Switzerland after years of battling kidney problems, Angela said about her gruelling regime on the film: “You got up at five in the morning, went to the gym to work out for two-and-a-half hours.
“Then you would head to Michael Peters (the choreographer) and learn routines – which were all intense cardio – for about 10 hours. Ten hours!
“You had to be so focused and so determined. Pain was irrelevant. Fear was real and physical pain and torture was just going to be a part of it. Every part of your body hurt and there was no time to eat anything.”
Angela added about her diet on the film: “Broccoli, string beans, Yukon potatoes and bland chicken breast. That’s what my trainer suggested for me. “And black coffee and water. Literally. And there was no time to sit down at a table and eat those items.
“You literally stood stuffing them in your face, one-by-one and then jump back on the dance floor. I was losing inches every week.
“I would go see Ruth Carter, our costume designer, and every week it was less and less of me – inches just melting away. It was a schedule you would never keep up again.”

Ken Bruce reveals the BBC didn’t want a PopMaster TV show

OHMYGOSSIP — Ken Bruce has revealed the BBC turned down the opportunity to make PopMaster into a TV show.
The 72-year-old DJ is bringing his beloved radio quiz to More4 later this year for a six-part series which will pit two music fans are pitted against each other to showcase their knowledge of songs and artists from across the years.
Ken co-created the quiz with radio producer Phil Swern for his Radio 2 show, and the former previously pitched turning the format into a television programme for the BBC but they weren’t interested.
Speaking to The Lady magazine, Ken said: “It came as quite a surprise because we weren’t looking for a television version, but Channel 4 came to us.
“Phil Swern got the approach. He had previously tried to sell the idea to BBC television, but got very little response. We know what we’re doing, and once again Phil has written all the questions.
“It’s a really steady format, though for TV it will be played over several rounds until we get to the final two contestants. Then it becomes classic PopMaster, just like on the radio.”
Ken took PopMaster with him when he made the move to Greatest Hits Radio and it has proved to be as popular as ever.
His only frustration is when he knows a contestant is cheating live on-air.
He said: “I try not to sound as if I’m about to say they are cheating, but that’s what I’m usually thinking. If somebody answers a question in an odd way, my eyes just go to the side and I look at the producer. We nod at each other as if to say, ‘We know, we know.’
“It really doesn’t happen that much, though when it does, PopMaster on Twitter goes wild. Then again, there are some people who really do know it all, and I can tell that they do because they answer in a natural way.”

Claire Sweeney says landing Coronation Street role is a dream come true

OHMYGOSSIP — Claire Sweeney has fulfilled a life-long “dream” by joining ‘Coronation Street’.
The 52-year-old actress cemented herself as a soap icon thanks to her role as Lindsey Corkhill in the now cancelled Channel 4 drama ‘Brookside’, and now she has been cast as Cassandra Plummer in the ITV show.
Claire can’t quite believe she is going to be following in the footsteps of ‘Corrie’ legends like Pat Phoenix and Julie Goodyear, who played Elsie Tanner and Bet Lynch respectively.
Claire told Total TV Guide magazine: “I always thought, if I was to do another soap, ‘Corrie’ would be the dream one.
“I’ve grown up watching it, being obsessed with Pat Phoenix initially, then Bet Lynch.”
Claire has promised that her character will “cause some trouble on the cobbles”.
She teased: “She’s troubled, feisty. And she’s going to cause some troubles on the cobbles.”
Claire’s casting was announced in April, when she likened it to “being cast in a Hollywood movie”.
She said at the time: “I’ve watched it all my life and can’t quite believe that I’ll now be stepping onto those famous cobbles myself.”
Claire was initially anxious about joining the soap.
Her alter ego Cassandra is the long-lost mother of Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) and the estranged daughter of Evelyn Plummer, who is played by Dame Maureen Lipman.
Claire is relishing the opportunity to work with Maureen, 77, calling the veteran stage and screen star “one of [her] heroes”.
Claire – who appeared on ‘Brookside’ between 1991 and 2003 – said: “I was really nervous when I got the scripts to audition as this show means so much to me and my family and this is ‘Corrie’ gold.
“I was beyond thrilled and very grateful when I got the call that Iain MacLeod is trusting me to play Tyrone’s Mum and work alongside one of my heroes, Dame Maureen Lipman.”

Sid Owen to spend time behind bars for reality series HMP

OHMYGOSSIP — Sid Owen will be sent to prison for a new Channel 4 series.
The British broadcaster has commissioned ‘HMP’, a new reality series, which sees a group of six male celebrities experience life in the slammer.
The ‘EastEnders’ legend will be joined by ‘Gogglebox’ star Marcus Luther, comedian, Tom Rosenthal, singer HRVY, journalist Peter Hitchens and ex MP Neil Parish as they swap their regular day to day for life behind bars.
The celebrity inmates will be locked up with reformed ex-cons, who served sentences for serious crimes at HMP Shrewsbury.
As well as being given jobs to undertake they will also be subjected to full body searches.
An insider previously told The Sun newspaper: “The idea behind the show is it gives people who might have zero experience of prison life, or the criminal justice system in general, a taste of just what it is like.”
Sid, 51, is best known for playing Ricky Butcher in BBC One soap ‘EastEnders’ on and off from 1988 to 2023, has previously spoken about his father serving a life sentence for armed robbery.
The last time Owen visited his father was when he was a young boy.

Gemma Atkinson and Gorka Marquez to star in own reality TV show

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Atkinson and Gorka Marquez are to star in their own reality TV series.
The couple will appear in ‘Gemma and Gorka: Life Behind the Lens’ which will provide viewers with an unfiltered look at their lives as they prepare to welcome their second baby, whilst also dealing with the pressures of parenthood and work.
The former ‘Hollyoaks’ actress and her fiancé Gorka – who first met on the 2017 series of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, when Atkinson was partnered with Aljaž Škorjanec and professional dancer Marquez was with singer Alexandra Burke – welcomed their first child, daughter Mia back in July 2019.
The three-part series for W and UKTV Play will air this summer and will focus on 38-year-old Gemma’s pregnancy right up until the birth.
Announcing the project, Gemma said: “We’re so excited to be working with W on a project which, not only takes people into our lives behind closed doors, but also one that raises awareness of vaginal birth after Caesarean delivery, and an honest look into the journey of a second pregnancy after a previous traumatic birth.
“We get lots of questions from people who have experienced something similar so it will be a great way for viewers to receive information from professionals who we meet along the way.”
Gemma hopes she can raise awareness of VBAC – Vaginal Birth After Caesarean – on the show, as during Mia’s delivery she required an emergency C-section when the baby’s heart rate dropped suddenly.
She said: “We get lots of questions from people who have experienced something similar so it will be a great way for viewers to receive information from professionals who we meet along the way.
“Digging into why some of us end up having emergency C-sections and postpartum haemorrhages like I had, and showing the daunting reality of having another baby after a previous traumatic birth. That was the game-changer as I’m asked about it by so many women who had similar circumstances.
“To be able to sit and film with midwives, pelvic floor specialists, doctors and get all that info, as well as showing the chaos we live in as parents, we thought it’d help a lot of people.”
