‘We did 40 takes of picking up a key…’ Vanessa Kirby and Pom Klementieff spill on Mission: Impossible shoot

OHMYGOSSIP — Vanessa Kirby and Pom Klementieff filmed “40 takes” to simply pick up a key on ‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One’.
Vanessa, 35, plays arms dealer Alanna Mitsopolis, while Pom’s alter ego is assassin Paris in the action sequel, which sees Tom Cruise reprise his role as Ethan Hunt for a seventh time.
The actresses have spilled on Christopher McQuarrie’s directing style and revealed that he insisted they do the little things over and over again, but rather be frustrating it merely added to the “fun” on set.
In a joint interview with website Collider, Vanessa said: “We did 40 takes of picking up a key, and it was so fun because actually, you realize by take 30, you’re thinking as an actor, yeah, you’re just picking up a key, but I thought, ‘How many ways can a human being pick up a key?’
Pom, 37, added: “Yes, it tells a different story.”
Vanessa continued: “And you get to play them all. That’s just one tiny example, but in many moments, you get to play many, many different things because you get the opportunity because there’s time and space, and it’s the process of, ‘Let’s see what comes out.’ Then we have loads of time in the edit putting things together that are unusual.”
Pom praised McQuarrie for possessing “such a sense of frame” and their “incredible crew” that worked so hard to make “everything perfect” for the entire cast which included Hayley Atwell, 41, Greg Tarzan Davis, 29, and Shea Whigham, 54, Rebecca Ferguson, 39, and Simon Pegg, 53.
Pom said: “Christopher McQuarrie has such a sense of the frame, and he’s surrounded by such an incredible crew, and the lighting is beautiful and the set. Then we just play around and just really take the time to make everything perfect, so it feels very special to get the opportunity to do that.”

Robert Downey Jr concerned he played Iron Man too long

OHMYGOSSIP — Robert Downey Jr. was concerned he played Iron Man for too long.
The 58-year-old actor portrayed Tony Stark and his superhero alter ego in 11 movies from 2008’s ‘Iron Man’ to 2019’s ‘Avengers: Endgame’ and he admitted he had reservations that playing the same character for such a long period could have affected his acting range.
Asked if he had concerns that playing the same role for so long would have an impact on his acting, he told the New York Times magazine: “Yes. A hundred percent, and I knew there was a point where Chris Nolan was endorsing, let’s work those other muscles, but let’s do it while rendering you devoid of your usual go-to things.
“It’s the fast-talking, charming, unpredictable, blah, blah, blah, or as my very close friend Josh Richman, a character actor, used to say, I made my bones playing ‘Milo, the offbeat buddy.’ And Milo, the offbeat buddy, better be offbeat!”
The ‘Oppenheimer’ star also admitted he had “reservations” about joining another potential franchise, playing animal expert Dr. Dolittle in 2020 flop ‘Dolittle’.
He said: “I finished the Marvel contract and then hastily went into what had all the promise of being another big, fun, well-executed potential franchise in ‘Dolittle.’
“I had some reservations. Me and my team seemed a little too excited about the deal and not quite excited enough about the merits of the execution.
“But at that point I was bulletproof. I was the guru of all genre movies.”
But Robert – whose wife Susan produced ‘Dolittle’ – admitted there was a valuable lesson to be learnt from the project.
He explained: “Honestly, the two most important films I’ve done in the last 25 years are ‘The Shaggy Dog’ because that was the film that got Disney saying they would insure me.
“Then the second most important film was ‘Dolittle’, because ‘Dolittle’ was a two-and-a-half-year wound of squandered opportunity.
“The stress it put on my missus as she rolled her sleeves up to her armpits to make it even serviceable enough to bring to market was shocking. After that point — what’s that phrase? Never let a good crisis go to waste? — we had this reset of priorities and made some changes in who our closest business advisers were.”

Vick Hope wants to present Countdown

OHMYGOSSIP — Vick Hope wants to present ‘Countdown’ one day.
The 33-year-old star was a guest panellist in Dictionary Corner on the words and numbers game show a few months ago but she admitted what she really wants is to take over from Colin Murray as anchor of the competition in the future because she is such a big fan of quizzes, and he has already given her his blessing.
She told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: “I messaged Colin after he got the job and said, ‘Congrats, you were born for this, you deserve this.’
“He said, ‘Give it 10 years and you can take over.’ So give it 10 years and I’d love to do ‘Countdown’.
“I love doing quizzes so much, they make me really happy.”
The Cambridge University graduate previously shared her excitement at being asked to be part of Dictionary Corner.
Sharing photos from filming, she wrote on Instagram in December: “Aaaahhhh VICKTIONARY CORNER!!! So so SO excited to be joining the wonderful Countdown team on @channel4 every afternoon this week at 2 in Dictionary Corner!
“The loveliest of times with the loveliest bunch, MAN I LOVE WORDS SO MUCH! Thank you for having me, daada daada dadadada BUMMM.(sic)”
Vick has also been a guest presenter on ‘Pointless’ alongside Alexander Armstrong after Richard Osman stepped down as co-host in 2022.
She said earlier this year: “What an absolute joy to get quizzy at teatime on the most iconic game show around!
“I love ‘Pointless’, am obsessed with trivia and quizzes, and can’t wait to join Xander and the contestants every day from Richard’s hot seat. One very excited pointless co-host incoming.”
Fellow guest presenter Sally Phillips added: “I am so looking forward to trying Richard Osman’s big shoes on and being the answer police on ‘Pointless’.
“I am certain the power of the Pointless laptop will go to my head, and I will become insufferable, which I am also really looking forward to.”

Rita Simons joins Hollyoaks

OHMYGOSSIP — Rita Simons has joined ‘Hollyoaks’.
The former ‘EastEnders’ actress – who quit the soap in 2017 but briefly reprised her role as Roxy Mitchell in April this year – has reportedly signed up for an as-yet undisclosed part in the Channel 4 series and will make her screen debut later this year.
A source told the Sun on Sunday newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “Rita’s new character will certainly ruffle feathers and is set to stir the pot.
“‘Hollyoaks’ fans can expect plenty of fireworks.”
Rita’s ‘EastEnders’ return this year saw her late character reappear as a figment of her grieving daughter Amy Mitchell’s (Ellie Dadd) imagination and the actress previously admitted she wouldn’t have said yes if she was asked to be “a ghost”.
She told ‘Good Morning Britain’: “Very clearly, I was asked to go back…not as a ghost. Not as a ghost. And I said ‘Right, if I’m a ghost, I’m not doing it!’ But because it was a figment of Amy’s imagination – anything to do with mental health issues, I’m there like a rat up a drainpipe because I’m an advocate – she is having these mental health struggles and it’s almost like doing these inner-child work that you do with a therapist. So it’s her imagination.”
Rita then went on to remind fans that because viewers did not see her character’s body after she and her sister both drowned in a swimming pool, there is a possibility that Roxy is not dead after all and could potentially make a reappearance “for the fans.”
She added: “I could come back because you didn’t see my body. I don’t know if I could come back. It’s awful because the fans are like ‘Please come back!’ I did this for the fans, I did this for them and they blew me away last night.”

Love Island’s Ella Barnes sparks recoupling drama

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Love Island’s Ella Barnes has chosen to pair-up with Mitch during the latest recoupling.
The 23-year-old bombshell – who recently arrived in the ‘Love Island’ villa – opted to couple-up with Mitch during an explosive recoupling.
Elsewhere, fellow newcomer Josh Brocklebank has chosen to couple-up with Jess, meaning that both Sammy and Abi are now single.
Earlier in the episode, Ella announced to the Islanders that another recoupling was set to take place, and that the girls were poised to decide their own fate.
The early decisions were largely unsurprising, with Whitney choosing to stay with Lochan, while Kady, Molly and Ella chose to remain with Ouzy, Zachariah and Tyrique respectively.
However, things became tense when the two bombshells made the decisions that ultimately left Sammy and Abi as singletons.
Ella actually promised to “shake things up” before entering the villa.
The blonde beauty insisted she wasn’t afraid of ruffling some feathers on the show, while she also revealed that she had “history” with Tyrique.
Looking forward to her ‘Love Island’ experience, Ella shared: “I’m open to getting to know all the boys. At the moment, everyone is happy in their couples but I plan on going in there to shake things up.
“I have a feeling I could make a few boys’ heads turn, especially Tyrique because we have history.”
Ella also confessed to being attracted to sportsmen.
Asked who she had her eye on in the villa, Ella replied: “Mitch is cute – I also have a tendency to go for footballers so Scott and Tyrique are options too.”

‘It was a no-brainer’: America Ferrera couldn’t resist Barbie part

OHMYGOSSIP — America Ferrera admits that it was a “no-brainer” to star in ‘Barbie’.
The 39-year-old actress plays Mattel employee Gloria – who discovers Barbie in the real world – in Greta Gerwig’s much-hyped new movie and experienced a whirlwind of emotions when she first read the script.
Asked if it was easy to accept the role at the movie’s European premiere in London on Wednesday (12.07.23), America said: “Once I read the script, absolutely. I finished the script and I was laughing and crying and I just felt so moved that Greta saw me in the role of Gloria. It was a no-brainer.”
The ‘Ugly Betty’ star features alongside Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling and Will Ferrell in the film and was impressed by the “stacked” quality of the cast.
America said: “When I came on, it was Margot and Ryan who I had been a big fan of for a long time.
“It was a great cast to join and it just kept getting more and more stacked.”
America explained how she and Greta shaped her alter ego Gloria with inspiration from the women who pushed for the iconic doll to “evolve” and “be inclusive”.
She said: “Gloria is her own character but Greta and I talked about my character and one of the things we both found was inspiration in the real-life women who pushed the Barbie brand to evolve and include so many more people and to be inclusive of all different body types and skin colours and abilities.
“She was such an interesting figure as a very self-possessed woman valuing Barbie and pushing something she really valued to evolve and change.”
The star also quipped that she would like to take a “break” from the colour pink after working on the movie.
Ferrera said: “I’ve had a whole lot of pink in my life in the last year. I love pink – I sometimes, you know, wanna break from it – but I love our Barbie pink world.”

‘We have history’: Love Island bombshell Ella Barnes sets sights on Tyrique Hyde

OHMYGOSSIP — New ‘Love Island’ bombshell Ella Barnes is heading into the villa with her sights set on Tyrique Hyde – and she has “history” with the star.
The 23-year-old dancer and model is confident she will be able to make some of the lads’ heads turn when she appears in the ITV2 dating show, and she is hoping to get to know Mitchel Taylor, Scott Van Der Sluis and Tyrique.
She said: “I’m excited to go into the villa because I feel like I’ll bring a lot of spice and drama.
“I’m open to getting to know all the boys. At the moment, everyone is happy in their couples but I plan on going in there to shake things up.
“I have a feeling I could make a few boys’ heads turn, especially Tyrique because we have history.
“Mitch is cute, I also have a tendency to go for footballers so Scott and Tyrique are options, too.”
Fellow bombshell Josh Brocklebank, 26, will also enter the villa in tonight’s (13.07.23) episode, and he is keen to get to know Jess Harding or Kady McDermott.
He said: “I’m going to go in there and be myself. I don’t think Sammy and Jess are that strong, so I hope to make a big impression on Jess when I arrive as she’s someone I’d definitely like to explore a connection with.
“I’m most attracted to Jess and Kady. Personality wise, I think I’d be a great match for Jess. She’s so bubbly and has similar energy to me. Kady is also beautiful, she’s a similar age to me and seems to know what she wants which I think is really attractive.”
However, one of Jess or Kady could still be dumped from the villa after Wednesday night’s show (12.07.23) ended on a cliff-hanger.
One of either Jess and Sammy, Kady and Ouzy See, or Montel McKenzie and Leah Taylor will be sent home on tonight’s show, after Catherine Agbaje and Elom Ahlijah-Wilson were dumped on Wednesday night.
‘Love Island’ continues tonight at 9pm on Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Player, proudly sponsored by Virgin Media Mobile.
The reality show can also be seen on ITV2.

Love Island star Tasha Ghouri almost joined Barbie cast instead of villa

OHMYGOSSIP — Tasha Ghouri was almost cast in ‘Barbie’ before joining ‘Love Island’.
The 24-year-old pro dancer appeared on the ITV dating show last year but she was nearly swapping the villa for Hollywood after she auditioned for the new blockbuster – which stars Margot Robbie as the iconic Mattel doll – and found herself in the final round.
She told OK! magazine: “I got to the final round of the auditions to be a dancer in the film but unfortunately didn’t get the job.
“Filming was at the same time as ‘Love Island’ so everything does happen for a reason!”
Director Greta Gerwig recently explained why she only wanted dancers as her background actors in the movie.
She told Entertainment Weekly: “In soundstage musicals like ‘Oklahoma!’ or ‘Singin’ in the Rain,’ there’s a quality in the way people move.
“So all the Barbies and Kens you see on the beach [and other dance sequence settings] hold themselves differently.
“Our choreographer said dancers, their bodies always have a direction that’s different [from] normal people.”
Meanwhile, Tasha may have missed out but things certainly worked out as she ended up meeting boyfriend Andrew Le Page on the show.
She added to OK!: “We had our journey in the villa and it got us to where we are now. Communication is key between us both and we’re in a great place.”
The loved up couple – who have a puppy together – are set to celebrate their first major relationship milestone, and they have some big “plans for the future”.
She added: “We’re about to celebrate our first anniversary and we have our first pup together!
“We have plans for the future with property developing and just growing together. I’m so thankful to have met him last year, he was the missing piece in my life.”

Ray Winstone has rejected EastEnders offer ‘many times’

OHMYGOSSIP — Ray Winstone has turned down “many” offers to join ‘EastEnders’.
The 66-year-old actor was previously reported to be a potential replacement for Danny Dyer as Albert Square’s new hard man, but despite being “very flattered” by the interest, he has snubbed the chance to join the iconic BBC soap.
He told The Sun newspaper’s TVBiz column: “I’ve been asked many times.
“I’m very flattered by it and I’ve got some great friends there, like Perry Fedwick, and over the years I’ve made many more.”
However, Ray isn’t interested in the intense schedule in the soap world, which he compared to the idea of treading the boards in live theatre.
He added: “But again, it’s the same scenario as theatre – I don’t want to get locked into something that long, because I may as well go and do a 9 to 5 job in an office somewhere.”
His daughter Jaime has joined the latest West End production of ‘2:22 A Ghost Story’, and the veteran actor has told her to ignore his advice.
He laughed: “I told her not to listen to anything I say, because these kids know more.”
Meanwhile, Jaime did actually appear in ‘EastEnders’ as she played a young Peggy Mitchell in a flashback episode in September 2022, which showed Dame Barbara Windsor’s character in the 1970s.
And Ray nearly joined the soap as Billy Mitchell’s brother in 2008, but he instead accepted a role in ‘Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull’.
He later opened up about his decision not to join ‘EastEnders’ before, and joked he might be the only person from the actual East End in the cast.
He said: “That thing about turning up five times a week, these guys work really hard, it just ain’t for me.
“I wondered if I’d probably be the only one from the East End in the show.”

Love Island star Maya Jama reveals why she couldn’t be a contestant

OHMYGOSSIP — Maya Jama would be far too shy to be a ‘Love Island’ contestant.
The 28-year-old star is the host of the ITV dating show and while she’s frequently in the villa to bring news of dumpings and recouplings, she wouldn’t want to put herself out there “in a bikini” being judged on her looks after being “not even considered remotely hot” during her “whole school years”.
She told British Vogue magazine: “I would not be able to, at any age, strut out of the house in a bikini in front of men that are judging me based on just one sentence and what I look like.
“The confidence of the people that go on! They’ve got a different kind of juice.”
Maya also addressed complaints over the casting for the show, with people calling for more diversity.
While she noted “you can’t please everybody”, she admitted: “I don’t know. I always want to watch any show and be like, ‘There’s someone from everywhere.’ ”
Although the star has widespread appeal with fans around the country, she revealed her friends keep her grounded.
She laughed: “My friends take the p***, saying, ‘She’s the people’s princess’. Can you imagine? I wouldn’t last a day.
“The people that do really like me, I feel like they see a bit of themselves in me. And then the other people are like, ‘Who the f*** is this b**** and what does she even do?’”
Maya – who previously dated rapper Stormzy – weighed in on speculation about her love life as she has been linked to plenty of big name stars, but she has always tried to keep her personal life under wraps.
She explained: “At the end of the day, I am a TV host. I’m a presenter, I’m not a reality star.
“I’m not someone that puts all my business out there.
“I’ve never really offered up my personal life, I’ve just done my job and that’s kind of come with it. So I think I do have a right to keep some bits private.”

Queen of Huns: Gemma Collins tops poll

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Collins has been named the nation’s favourite hun.
The ‘Only Way is Essex’ star topped a survey on hun culture, which saw her narrowly pip Stacey Solomon and former Spice Girls singer Victoria Beckham to the crown, while the foundings also found over a quarter of Brits now consider themselves a hun as they embrace a life of fabulousness and being unapologetically themselves.
The survey was designed to mark a collaboration between Moonpig and Hunsnet, and their collection includes a card with an editable design that states ‘The Qween of Hunts in turning 30’ in honour of respondents in the poll deeming the age to be when Brits reach peak hun status.
The collaboration includes five cards in a range of animal print designs, as well as gifts including a ‘Spill The Tea Hun’ mug and ‘You Bouquet Hun’ multi-coloured bunch of blooms.
Gareth Howells, founder of Hunsnet said: “Working with the Moonpig team has been so much fun! I got to put my design hat on and look through the archives to make the collaboration as Hun as it possibly could be, from our iconic leopard print design to some of my all-time favourite Hun catchphrases.
“It was a dream come true to create the range and it’s what all my dallyns out there need in their lives to spread the Hun joy to their nearest and dearest.”
Sarah-Jane Porter, Head of Card design at Moonpig, added: “We’re thrilled to have teamed up with Hunsnet – the ultimate authority of all things hun – for this brand-new range of cards.
“We know that hun culture is one that many people relate to or even simply just enjoy engaging with, and so we think this range of cards perfectly encapsulates this movement. We hope it helps the huns of the nation celebrate their birthday – and many other occasions – in true Hun style!”

Tom Cruise was nearly de-aged by 30 years for Mission: Impossible-Dead Reckoning

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Cruise was almost digitally made to look 30 years younger in the opening scene of ‘Mission: Impossible-Dead Reckoning’.
Director Christopher McQuarrie has revealed he considered using the “de-ageing” process to make Ethan Hunt look youthful in the flashbacks scenes and a “cold open”, however, he wasn’t happy with the results.
The filmmaker told GamesRadar: “Originally, there had been a whole sequence at the beginning of the movie that was going to take place in 1989.
“We talked about it as a cold open. We talked about it as flashbacks in the movie. We looked at de-aging.
“One of the big things about [the de-aging] I was looking at while researching, I kept saying, ‘Boy, this de-aging is really good’ or ‘This de-aging is not so good.’ Never did I find myself actually following the story.”
He also got “distracted” by the young Ethan.
McQuarrie said: “I was so distracted by an actor that I had known for however long was now suddenly this young person.”
That doesn’t mean to say he won’t try the method again.
He added: “I cracked the code – I think – on how best to approach it.
“By then, we had kind of moved away from it. We may still play with it. We never say never.”
Meanwhile, Tom amazed his co-stars with his “relaxed” attitude towards his death-defying stunts.
The Hollywood actor is back in action in the seventh film in the series, and he took his love of daredevil sequences to new heights on set – but co-star Hayley Atwell insisted Tom looked like a man who had spent a “lovely day at the beach” instead of doing 29 skydives.
In an interview with Radio Times magazine, she explained: “The thing that surprised me more than anything else is how easy he wears it all. I remember we went over for dinner at his and he comes out and he’s like: ‘Hey, guys, how you doing?’ Sits down, we’re chatting about the film, chatting about our day, what we’ve been up to.
“And we were like, well you know, how was your day? And he’s like: ‘Yeah, it was good, it was really nice actually, I had a lovely time. I did like 29 skydives I think today.'”
Hayley added that she was gobsmacked by his relaxed attitude towards it all.
She went on: “The ease with which he said that! And also I’m sat there going, you look like a man that’s had a lovely day at the beach, you are so relaxed and comfortable in your own skin.
“And you’ve just done that! And I think it’s because he’s so disciplined in what he knows that he has to do in order to accomplish these stunts. And [he] has also that real understanding of how to relax and be fearless in it. And that’s the thing that I find most inspiring is the lightness with which he wears this all.”
The film includes high-octane stunts by Tom including the franchise’s most audacious sequence yet which shows the movie star driving a motorcycle off a cliff. The actor is said to have taken part in 500 skydives and 13,000 motocross jumps to prepare for the scene.
In a behind-the-scenes video, Tom revealed how much work he had to put in, saying: “I have to get so good at this that there’s just no way that I miss my marks. You train and drill every little aspect over and over and over and over again.”
Stunt coordinator Wade Eastwood added: “They were doing 30 jumps a day, getting to the point where he was just a machine.”

Hayley Atwell tells all on ‘frustrating’ Doctor Strange 2 cameo

OHMYGOSSIP — Hayley Atwell has told how her ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ cameo was a “frustrating” experience.
The 41-year-old actress reprised her role as Marvel character Peggy Carter in the 2022 movie, but she was surprised her alter-ego was killed off by Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch character so quickly in the film.
Speaking on the ‘Happy Sad Confused’ podcast, she said: “I’m like, ‘That wasn’t my choice!’
“When she was like, ‘I could do this all day’ and then followed by she’s immediately cut in half by a frisbee.
“And the audience being like, ‘She can’t do it all day. Apparently you can’t, so, egg on your face.’ That doesn’t really serve Peggy very well.”
Atwell portrayed an alternate version of Carter in Marvel’s Disney+ series ‘What If…?’, and the actress had “great fun” in the role.
She added: “I felt like I had much more to do in the ‘What If…?’ animation series.
“I mean, any actor will tell you, to be able to go into a booth in effectively your pyjamas and do an animation is great fun because you’re focused on the voice as the instrument and your main performative tool … [by contract], it felt like a frustrating moment in ‘Strange’. ”
In December, Atwell cast doubt on a return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
In an interview with Digital Spy, she said: “It’s so funny, because, you know, I did that 10 years ago, and I love her because I love the people, and you never know (if there could be more).
“It depends on what Marvel, and what the audiences, want… I’m a custodian of her.
“Compared to the rest of my career and everything I’ve done or my stage work and doing ‘Mission: Impossible’ now and all the diversity of roles I’ve played, and the diversity that I get to explore, and to be able to play more complex roles and villains and lots of different things – she is not mine anymore.
“She lives in the world of people that have taken her into their heart. And that’s beautiful. But it’s kind of like: yeah, you can’t control the impact a particular role has on the rest of the world.”

You’re dumped! Montel McKenzie ‘disappointed’ with Love Island exit

OHMYGOSSIP — Montel McKenzie was left “disappointed” after he and Leah Taylor were dumped from ‘Love Island’.
The pair were sent home on Thursday night (13.07.23) after they finished second bottom of a public vote to determine the least compatible couple, with Catherine Agbaje and Elom Ahlijah-Wilson – who were eliminated on Wednesday night (12.07.23) – topping the vote.
Montel admitted it is “bittersweet” to have left the villa, but he and Leah want to make a go of things on the outside.
He said: “It’s a bit disappointing with the way that we left but I am happy because I am leaving with Leah and a strong connection.
“It’s hard to be sad when I am leaving with her.
“We have full intentions of making things work and we will try to see each other as much as we can. Being outside is obviously different to being in the Villa but we have been pretty plain sailing.
“Our communication level is high and we’ll be able to get through anything that comes in front of us.”
Leah was also keen to spend more time in the villa, but will look back on ‘Love Island’ with fond memories.
When asked how it feels to have left the dating show, she said: “Mixed emotions but I’ve had such an incredible experience.
“I went in there to find a connection and I’m leaving with one, which is such a positive.
“I wish we had a bit more time together in the villa but overall it’s been such an amazing experience.”
‘Love Island’ continues tonight at 9pm on Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Player, proudly sponsored by Virgin Media Mobile.
The reality show can also be seen on ITV2.

‘Life feels really good right now’: Barbara Windsor’s widower finds love with EastEnders star

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Barbara Windsor’s widower Scott Mitchell has found love again – with ‘EastEnders’ actress Tanya Franks.
Scott, 60, went official with Tanya – who played Rainie Highway in the BBC One soap – on a holiday to Greece earlier this month.
He told The Sun newspaper: “Thanks for your kind wishes.
“Life feels really good right now and we are enjoying some special time together.”
Scott – who was left widowed in 2020 when ‘EastEnders’ legend Barbara died aged 83, after living with Alzheimer’s since 2014 – and Tanya are said to be “taking things slowly” in their relationship.
A source told the publication: “Scott has found love again with Tanya and is truly happy.
“His and Barbara’s friends are delighted he’s found someone to share his life with.
“It’s fairly early days but Scott is cautiously now looking forward to the future.
“They made the decision to update their wider circles while on holiday in Greece and everyone was over the moon.
“There is so much friendship and respect between them both and they’re taking things slowly.”
The couple are said to have grown close while training together to run the London Marathon as part of “Babs’ Army”.
Scott, Tanya and several of Barbara’s former ‘EastEnders’ co-stars have raised thousands for Alzheimer’s Research UK from running the 26.2-mile race.
Tanya – who has also starred in ‘The Bill’, ‘Inside No.9’ and ‘Silent Witness’ – first appeared as EastEnders’ Rainie in 2007, and she was in Albert Square on and off until her last appearance in August.
Barbara starred as Peggy Mitchell in the BBC soap from 1994 to 2016, when the character took her own life after her breast cancer returned.
One of Tanya’s storylines was a fling with Barbara’s on-screen son Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden).

‘No brainer’: Gary Lucy didn’t hesitate to bring Hollyoaks character back from the dead

OHMYGOSSIP — Gary Lucy says it was a “no brainer” to return to ‘Hollyoaks’.
The 41-year-old actor is reprising his role as Luke Morgan in the Channel 4 soap, despite the character being killed off last summer when he fell off a Majorcan cliff and died from his injuries.
But Luke will return as a figment of Cindy Cunningham’s (Stephanie Waring) imagination when she suffers a mental health relapse after she stopped taking her bipolar medication, and Gary jumped at the chance to return.
He told Metro.co.uk: “It was a no brainer. I got a call from Peter Hunt in casting – he’s amazing.
“I have so much respect for him on a professional level but he’s also a really good friend.
“He called my agent and said, ‘How would you feel about coming back for a few episodes? We’ve got this idea that ties to Cindy’s storyline.’
“I said, ‘Absolutely. If we can make it work, I’d love to!’
“To have an opportunity to come and see everyone and have a great time with them – it is like a home from home up there.
“They made it work, and it was lovely to catch up with everyone and give everyone a cuddle – to get a bit of attention and love and then back out the door again!”
Gary joked the idea for his return probably came about because Stephanie was “missing him”.
He quipped: “I reckon Steph [Waring] was probably missing me!
“She probably went up [to bosses] and was like, ‘If you don’t bring Gary back I’m leaving.’
“And Obviously I wouldn’t want Steph to leave, so I just basically did what I should’ve done.”
