Patsy Kensit reveals difficulties of dating after engagement ends

OHMYGOSSIP — Patsy Kensit says dating is tricky in her fifties, following the end of her whirlwind engagement.
The 55-year-old actress – who recently decided to end her romance with 56-year-old millionaire Patric Cassidy – admitted it is hard to meet people at her age and she also wants to focus on her work.
She told The Mirror: “At my age I don’t meet people as I’m normally in bed at 9pm.
“On the show I just finished [‘Death in Paradise’] they were going to the bar and I was like, ‘I can’t. I have got to be in bed my 8pm.
“I have got to wash my face due to the humidity out there. And I have got to be up at 4am.’
“By the end of it they didn’t bother asking me. The thought of going to a bar or looking for love… but these things happen when you least expect it. I got set up on a blind date so there you go. I use the word companionship.
“I’m not ruling the intimacy side of things out but relationships are different at this age and it is good and OK. You have got to be hopeful and grateful.”
Meanwhile, it was revealed that Patsy decided to end her engagement after realising it would not last in the long-term.
An insider told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “The whirlwind romance has come to a halt and the couple have decided to go their separate ways.
“They have a lot of love for one another, but ultimately, she knew that they couldn’t make it work in the long-term so felt it was best not to move forward with their relationship.
“Patsy has lots of exciting work opportunities at the moment, and she is throwing herself into her career.”
The break-up has also been confirmed by Patsy’s spokesman.
He said: “I can confirm they have split, and would appreciate that she is given her privacy regarding the matter. She is currently very busy working.”
Patsy has previously been married four times.

Big Brother legends Nasty Nick, Chanelle Hayes and more could return for ITV revival

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Big Brother’ bosses could bring back ‘Nasty’ Nick Bateman, Chanelle Hayes and more for the upcoming reboot.
The iconic reality show is returning later this year with a revival on ITV2, and some former housemates from the original Channel 4 series – including Nick, Chanelle and 2004 winner Nadia Almada – have contacted producers about going back into the famous digs.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s TVBiz column: “They have really fired the imaginations of show bosses because they are keen to recapture the magic that made the programme such a hit when it launched 23 years ago.
“It won’t be a reboot full of old faces, it’s likely to be a smattering rather than a deluge of BB veterans.
“They know that they need the random mix of people that featured in the original C4 version, so this is a way to help achieve that.”
It’s said bosses are determined not to turn the ‘Big Brother’ cast into a mirror image of ‘Love Island’.
The insider added: “The one thing they don’t want to do is deliver a show which is essentially a ‘Love Island’-style contest full of beautiful people.
“They actually want the quirky, often controversial characters that are going to stir things up and make things interesting — and many of the names in the frame have proven track records in that respect.”
AJ Odudu and Will Best will host the show, while original narrator Marcus Bentley will return.
Announcing the gig, AJ wrote on Instagram: “This is not a drill! I’m beyond excited to finally be able to say that, I am hosting Big Brother!
“I couldn’t be more ecstatic to front such an iconic show and to do it alongside my amazing friend @iamwillbest is the icing on the cake.
“Get ready to be obsessed! Big Brother House, I’m coming to get you!”

George Alagiah had hoped to return to BBC News At Six ‘one last time’, says colleague Sophie Raworth

OHMYGOSSIP — George Alagiah had hoped to come back to work “one last time” before his death, according to his colleague Sophie Raworth.
The 55-year-old newsreader paid tribute to her late co-star, who passed away on Monday morning (24.07.23) at the age of 67 from cancer, during Monday night’s ‘News At Six’ on BBC One.
She said on the show: “I saw him just a few weeks ago.
“He told me he had hoped to come back to work one last time to say thank you and goodbye, right here, live on air in the studio.
“He didn’t get the chance, so we have done it for him. I will leave you now with George Alagiah in his own words.”
Sophie also told how George was “touched” by the nation’s support after he was diagnosed with cancer, and she praised him as a “man of great values and indomitable spirit”.
She said: “20 years ago George and I launched the new ‘Six O’ Clock News’ together back in January 2003.
“He was a foreign correspondent at heart, that was his passion, but he felt enormously proud and privileged to be presenting the BBC’s evening news and he loved it.
“He loved being in the newsroom being part of the team, and he made a good cup of tea as well. We all adored him, he felt a real connection with the audience too.
“After he was diagnosed with cancer just over nine years ago, he received thousands of letters and messages from people who wrote to him as it they knew each other, strangers who spoke to him as a friend. He was really touched by your support.
“George was a man of great values and indomitable spirit, a big smile, a velvety laugh, a great friend.”
The late star was diagnosed with stage four bowel cancer in 2014 and he underwent 17 rounds of chemotherapy to treat the disease.
In October 2015, he announced his treatment was over and returned to BBC One on November 10.
In 2017, the cancer returned, and in 2020 the journalist revealed it had spread to his lungs, liver and lymph nodes.
As his illness worsened, in October 2021, George made the decision to step down from his presenting duties.
His agent Mary Greenham confirmed his death in a statement, in which she sent her heartfelt condolences to his wife Frances Robathan and their two children, Adam and Matthew.
The statement read: “I am so terribly sorry to inform you that George Alagiah died peacefully today, surrounded by his family and loved ones.
“George fought until the bitter end but sadly that battle ended earlier today.
“George was deeply loved by everybody who knew him, whether it was a friend, a colleague or a member of the public. He simply was a wonderful human being.
“My thoughts are with Fran, the boys and his wider family.”

American Ferrera’s Barbie speech has so many unused versions

OHMYGOSSIP — America Ferrera delivered her epic ‘Barbie’ monologue “30 to 50 times”.
The 39-year-old actress delivers one of the standout moments in Greta Gerwig’s blockbuster as she perfectly captures the contradictory demands women face every day as they strive to be everything to everyone, and she has revealed the scene as a whole was shot over two days.
She told Vanity Fair magazine: “It felt like 500 [takes]. I’m sure it wasn’t. It was probably 30 to 50 full runs of it, top to bottom.”
Ferrera explained that both she and Greta were keen to make sure there were “no targets to hit” with her delivery as Gloria, and she ended up acting out many different versions.
She added: “I think that part of it was — this was also based on Greta’s direction — neither one of us went into it feeling like it’s got to grow and crescendo to this big moment where you burst into tears or you’re laughing so hard you cry.
“There were no targets to hit. It was much more a moment-to-moment drop in. Truly, every take was very different.
“There were takes that leaned into anger. There were takes that leaned into laughter. It really did, over the course of filming, find a shape.
“It was about just staying as present in the moment and just seeing really where the words would take it.”
She felt “a little bit of healthy pressure” with the pivotal scene, and she was surprised with the way the filmmaker wanted it to come across, after initially wondering if she would need to keep it rooted in “the tone of Barbie Land”.
She said: “I was a bit surprised when Greta really pushed me to be as real and grounded as possible and not make it feel like it’s the truth, but it’s Barbie Land pink truth.
“It was interesting that I initially felt that we wouldn’t just go as straightforward and real with it as we did, that I assumed that there might be a tone that maybe made it, I don’t know, I guess easier for people to hear or to swallow.
“Greta really didn’t want that. She wanted it to just sound like the truth.”

Matt Damon glad he didn’t leave Bourne stars ‘in the lurch’ by pulling out of movie for Avatar

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Damon was “desperate” to work with James Cameron on the ‘Avatar’ franchise, but he has no regrets about rejecting the offer to continue with the ‘Bourne’ franchise.
The 52-year-old star is thought to have missed out on a $250 million payday by turning down the role of Jake Sully – which went to Sam Worthington – in Cameron’s 2009 sci-fi epic, but Damon has insisted he couldn’t have left his friends “in the lurch” by quitting the ‘Bourne’ movies.
Speaking to CNN’s Chris Wallace, he said: “I’m sure it’s the most money an actor ever turned down, you know?
“I had a contract … I was in the middle of shooting the ‘Bourne’ movie and I knew that we were going to need work at the end, and I had to get it all the way to the finish line and I would have to leave the movie kind of early and leave them in the lurch a little bit and I didn’t want to do that.
“I desperately wanted to work with Cameron. I mean, because he worked so rarely.”
Damon – who has played lead character Jason Bourne in the five ‘Bourne’ movies – revealed he once told actor John Krasinski that he turned down ‘Avatar’, and the star insisted Damon wouldn’t have changed if he had taken on the movie, apart from being rich enough have a space station.
Asked if he would’ve “put off the ‘Bourne’ series” if he had known ‘Avatar’ was going to be the biggest grossing movie of all time, he said: “This is like … this is like that question.
“No it’s less much less consequential, that was just a joke. Dumb … but no, I mean, I don’t I don’t know how I could have left the all my friends in the lurch. You know what I mean?
“It would have … my favourite reaction to this was, I told John Krasinski, we were writing this little movie a long time ago called ‘Promised Land’ and we were in my kitchen and it was a Saturday morning and we were on a break.
“I said, ‘Yeah,’ I tell him about ‘Avatar’, and he launches himself out of the chair.
“He starts pacing the kitchen, he goes, ‘OK, OK, OK. OK, OK. Nothing in your life would be different today if you had done that movie, except you and I would be having this conversation in space.’
“I would have been the same guy, I just would have had a space station.”
In May, Damon said turning down a role in ‘Avatar’ was the “dumbest thing an actor ever did”.
He was offered 10 per cent of the movie’s box office profits if he took on the part, and by turning down the role he also missed out on the chance to team up with fellow lead actor Zoe Saldana (Neytiri).
Damon told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “It’s the dumbest thing an actor ever did in the history of acting.”
But Saldana told him: “I don’t think your career suffered because of it, trust me.”
She joked: “I’ve just always felt blessed that I was picked, that I worked really hard and auditioned.
“I’m not Matt Damon. I don’t get to turn down Avatars.”
Damon added: “I’ve probably done, like, 50 movies. I’ve never been in a movie that made $1 billion.”

Justin Simien drew on childhood movies for Haunted Mansion

OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Simien drew on his childhood cinematic influences during the making of ‘Haunted Mansion’.
The 40-year-old filmmaker used his experience of watching both horror and comedy to strike the right blend for his new picture which is based on the Disney theme park attraction of the same name.
In an interview with Slash Film, Justin said: “I mean, I grew up on that stuff. The first horror movie I saw was ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’. I was five years old and I didn’t – well maybe I did turn out kind of weird, but it worked in my favour.
“I think, again, I watched these movies growing up. I watched ‘Snow White’ and ‘Pinocchio’, these movies are terrifying. Okay, they are blends of horror and comedy and sweetness and dark and light.
“As a kid, they make you feel like you can face the darkness of the world. And as a black gay kid whose dad died, my world growing up was kind of scary. And these movies made me feel like I could get through it.”
Justin explained how he relied on “instinct” to bring the movie that he wished to make to the big screen.
The ‘Dear White People’ director said: “A lot of it was me just really leaning on my instinct. I don’t know how to write drama without being funny and I don’t know how to write comedy without being serious. I don’t know how to do it. They just live side by side in my brain.
“So I leaned into those instincts and the rest was the usual conversations between the studio. There’s testing, there’s all that kind of stuff, but a lot of it was like me making the movie I wanted to see.”

Christopher McQuarrie promises brilliant underwater scenes in next Mission: Impossible movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Christopher McQuarrie has promised epic underwater scenes in ‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two’.
The 54-year-old director and action hero Tom Cruise have spent time working out how to perfect underwater sequences after using them in previous movies ‘Edge of Tomorrow’ and ‘Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation’ and says they will be taken to the next level when the next film in the long-running franchise is released next year.
Christopher told Collider: “Tom and I are constantly re-evaluating our own work and asking ourselves how we could have done it better.
“We’ve done underwater in ‘Edge of Tomorrow’, and we worked underwater in ‘Rogue Nation’, and we left very dissatisfied with those sequences.”
The filmmaker continued: “And we analyse why we were dissatisfied. What were all the factors working against us? The biggest being, not having real knowledge in that area.
“Everything you’re looking at in ‘Dead Reckoning’ is the application of knowledge from previous sequences.”
Christopher previously described how he and Tom plan each ‘Mission: Impossible’ movie thoroughly and says it is a misconception that the pair wing it when making the blockbusters.
He said: “Tom and I never obsess about executing the plan. We always have a direction, we always have a place we’re going.
“In our trying to describe the process, in retrospect, it sounds as though what we do is just flying by the seat of our pants and making it up as we go along. That’s not an accurate description. You are definitely flying in a direction, you’re definitely prepared.
“You couldn’t be that cavalier without somebody getting seriously physically hurt. These things are planned within an inch of their life. Along the way, we see a shiny object and go for it.”

Joanne Froggatt to lead the cast of ITV’s COVID drama Breathtaking

OHMYGOSSIP — Joanne Froggatt is to lead the cast of ITV’s upcoming COVID-19 drama ‘Breathtaking’.
The ‘Downton Abbey’ star will portray a frontline hospital consultant in the upcoming series – which is co-written by ‘Line of Duty’ scribe and former junior hospital doctor Jed Mercurio – about an NHS doctor, Dr Abbey Henderson, caught in the eye of the storm during the early days of the pandemic.
Joanne said: “I feel truly honoured to be playing Dr Abbey Henderson in ‘Breathtaking’, based on Dr Rachel Clarke’s beautifully written, poignant and shocking book of the same name.
“When I first read the incredible scripts they moved me to tears on many occasions.
“I felt so passionately that I had to be a part of telling this story, the real story, of what was really happening behind the closed doors of the hospitals during the pandemic.
“Our NHS staff are nothing less than absolute heroes in my eyes, and I hope telling this story goes a little way towards us understanding their truth, their lived experience and honouring their unbelievable commitment and sacrifice on behalf of us all.”
‘Breathtaking’ is based on palliative care doctor Dr Rachel Clarke’s personal memoir of the same name, and was adapted for TV by Rachel and former junior hospital doctors Jed and Prasanna Puwanarajah.
Rachel said: “There is so much misinformation and rewriting of history around what really happened inside our hospitals during the pandemic.
“The truth is, NHS staff gave everything they had in impossible conditions that sometimes cost them their lives.
“It is an honour to try and depict the courage and decency of my NHS colleagues on screen, and I’m so grateful to ITV and HTM Television for giving me the chance to show the public the truth.”
Jed added: “Everyone at HTM Television has felt privileged to dramatise Rachel Clarke’s hauntingly illuminating memoir of health workers struggling to cope with the extraordinary challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I’m honoured to have collaborated with Rachel and Prasanna on this important drama, and thrilled to be working with a cast led by Joanne Froggatt and crew led by director Craig Viveiros.”
Filming on the three-part series – which is set in a fictional big-city hospital – was completed earlier this year.
Craig added: “I’m honoured to be working with Jed, Rachel and Prasanna on this timely, important project.
“After reading the first few pages of the script, I knew this was a project I wanted to be involved with. Its unique, bold and unflinching take on life on the front line during the pandemic was immediately captivating. I’m delighted to once again be working with Joanne Froggatt, her ability to effortlessly bring the humanity and empathy to any character she portrays meant she was the perfect performer to bring Abbey to life.”

Lucy Spraggan hints at real reason why Simon Cowell pulled out of Walk The Line

OHMYGOSSIP — Lucy Spraggan has hinted Simon Cowell pulled out of ‘Walk The Line’ because of how ITV “conducted themselves” when it came to her potentially taking part in ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’.
The former ‘X Factor’ star has claimed ITV “did not want to play ball” and she was not picked to appear on the show, and she has now suggested Simon’s departure from the former musical competition in 2021, when he pulled out six weeks beforehand, may have been linked.
According to The Sun newspaper, Lucy writes in her new memoir ‘Process’: “ITV did not want to play ball.
“This was the very last opportunity I would give ITV to cut me a f****** break.
“Simon was not only furious but shocked.
“He was seeing, first-hand, how ITV conducted themselves when it came to me.
“Days later, he pulled out of Walk The Line.”
Earlier this month, Lucy told how she quit ‘The X Factor’ in 2012 after she was raped by a porter in the hotel room she was staying in, after a night out partying with fellow contestant Rylan Clark.
She told The Guardian newspaper: “I woke up the next day with this sense of sheer dread. I don’t think I’ve ever felt that level of confusion since.
“I knew that I’d been raped, but I could not process that. So I put my clothes on and went into autopilot.”
Lucy explained she could not continue on the show due to the side-effects of Pep (post-exposure prophylaxis – a drug that, if taken within 72 hours of exposure, prevents HIV) and she faced terrible thoughts while sequestered in a room on the 11th floor of the Park Lane Hilton.
She said: “That evening, I had to relentlessly shake away the constant pull to go towards the balcony doors. ‘All of this could go away so quickly,’ I thought.”
Lucy received financial, legal and medical support in the immediate aftermath of the crime, but claimed she received no support after the trial the following year.
She said: “No one ever contacted me to ask if I was OK. No one called or emailed when the trial was over and he was convicted. No one offered me rehabilitation or ongoing mental health treatment. I was on my own.”
A statement from ITV said: “We have the deepest compassion for Lucy and everything she has endured as a result of this horrific ordeal. We commend her resilience and bravery.
“The X Factor was produced by Thames and Syco, who were primarily responsible for duty of care towards all of its programme contributors.
“ITV as a commissioning broadcaster is committed to having in place suitable and robust oversight procedures, with a view to ensuring that independent producers employ the correct processes to protect the mental health and welfare of participants.
“We have evolved and improved these oversight procedures since the events in question and we are encouraged to hear that Thames recognises the importance of continuous review and improvement of their own processes.
“We continue to evolve our own duty of care processes on programmes we produce to ensure that there are appropriate measures in place to support contributors before, during and after filming.
“In an event of such a distressing nature, welfare and support towards the victim would always be of the utmost priority.”

Jack Whitehall ’embarrassed’ father Michael with Celebrity Juice appearance

OHMYGOSSIP — Jack Whitehall says a ‘Celebrity Juice’ stint “embarrassed” his father Michael, which led to him changing his outlook on TV appearances.
The ‘Travels With My Father’ star admitted that his Netflix co-star dad, 83 – who is a famed theatre agent, with clients such as Nigel Havers, 71, Dame Judi Dench, 88, and Colin Firth, 62 – called him after watching the ex Keith Lemon-fronted ITV2 comedy panel show, and told his son it was “one of the most embarrassing things he’d ever seen”.
The 35-year-old comedian told the Radio Times magazine that his dad gave him a talking to and advised him to tell his agent to “be more forthright about what was good and bad for me to do”.
Jack added: “It was quite a seminal moment in terms of me going, ‘OK, maybe I need to be a bit more selective.’ ”
The ‘Bad Education’ star – who is expecting his first child with his model girlfriend Roxy Horner, 32 – admitted that during ‘Celebrity Juice’ filming in 2008 he just “sat there in silence and had the p*** taken out of [him]” throughout.
What’s more, Jack has told how working with his dad – who has been married to Jack’s mother Hilary, 62, since 1986 and also has daughter Molly, 34, and son Barnaby, 31 – can bring an “added level of stress”.
Jack said: “There is a slight lack of professionalism – they are your parents and you talk to each other slightly differently from how you would talk to a regular colleague.”
The ‘Fresh Meat’ star admitted his dad’s “foibles” can be “irksome”.
Jack said: “You are trying to create something and get it done, and certain members of your family want to be finished filming at four o’clock, need an hour off at lunch and insist on having a glass of wine.”

Pregnant Charlotte Dawson brought to tears after trolls make false social services call

OHMYGOSSIP — Pregnant Charlotte Dawson was brought to tears after social services were called to her house because of cruel trolls.
The ex ‘Celebs on the Farm’ star – who is 38 weeks along – cried on camera after social media trolls spread “terrifying” lies about the welfare of her two-year-old son Noah, who she has with rugby player Matt Sarsfield, 31, and her unborn baby.
The 30-year-old television personality said on Instagram: “I just can’t believe this person can get away with making these false accusations and wasting social services’ time.
“It’s just the thought of having Noah taken off me is absolutely terrifying. That is how I felt on Wednesday.”
Charlotte labelled her little boy the “happiest little man in the world” and said he has “so much love and happiness around him”, while hinting she had an idea about who made the allegations.
The former ‘Ex On The Beach’ star – who is the daughter of the late comic Les Dawson – expressed how “grateful” she is to be fine after she was the victim of a similar situation back in May.
At the time, Charlotte said: “I love all of you on Instagram and I am so grateful for all the support and love, everything that I receive is just amazing.
“But it’s been a really tough couple of days, if I’m honest. I’m heavily pregnant as you can tell, he’s blooming isn’t he, our lad?
“As much as I wanna come off social media, because I really do, it makes you feel like you just want going to come off, what I’m about to tell you. I just got to put my big girl knickers on.
“If you have been following me for a while you will have seen that I got a phone call off social services last year, last July.
“Basically it was saying that Noah is always injured in my care, I’m always drunk around him, he’s always in hospital and all this c***.”
“This time round I got another phone call on Friday saying the same situation, the exact same thing – so this person is not going to stop until something drastically bad happens to me, my family, or Noah gets taken off us.
“Just stop now, you absolute t***.”

Julie Goodyear’s dementia diagnosis left ex Coronation Street co-star Sue Jenkins ‘heartbroken’

OHMYGOSSIP — Julie Goodyear’s dementia diagnosis has left her ‘Coronation Street’ co-star Sue Jenkins “heartbroken”.
The 64-year-old actress praised the “wonderful” ‘Corrie’ legend, but admitted they haven’t been in contact “recently”, as she spoke about how the cobbles icon – who played Rovers Return barmaid Bet Lynch on and off from 1966 to 2003 – has been diagnosed with the neurological condition, which leads to memory loss, language issues and other cognitive problems.
Sue – who played Weatherfield resident Gloria Todd from 1985 to 1988 – told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Julie was wonderful. I have such great memories working with her. We have touched base over the years but not recently.
“It’s the saddest thing, but unfortunately, it just seems so common now. It’s heartbreaking how many people are suffering – we really have got to get to the bottom of why and fight it. There are so many theories out there on what causes dementia; it’s frightening, it seems out of our control.”
The ex ‘Brookside’ star reminisced about Julie, recalling she and the late Betty Driver, who played Betty Williams in the ITV1 soap, being so “welcoming” to her.
She said: “Julie and Betty Driver were so sweet and welcoming. I remember being utterly terrified before my first scene in The Rovers. I grew up watching it. My parents loved it. They couldn’t believe I was going to be in it! It was nerve-wracking.”
The 81-year-old soap star’s health update was shared by her husband Scott Brand, 55, last month after the couple had “come to terms” with her diagnosis.
He said: “My darling wife and I have had to come to terms with this heartbreaking news.
“Unfortunately, Julie has been suffering forgetfulness for some time and we have been seeking medical advice and assistance, but we now know that there is no hope of a reversal in the situation – and that her condition will get progressively, and perhaps speedily, worse.
“We have taken the decision to publicly announce the diagnosis as Julie still loves visiting friends and eating out. Inevitably she is recognised, and fans love to meet her – and she them – but she can get confused particularly if she is tired.”

Roman Kemp lands presenting role on new BBC football show

OHMYGOSSIP — Roman Kemp is to host ‘Boot Dreams: Now or Never’.
The ‘Capital Breakfast’ show host – who once had ambitions of playing the beautiful game professionally – admitted it is “incredible” to be named as the presenter of the six-part BBC Three documentary series, which will showcase the talent of 16 football players between the ages of 18 to 26 who have all been rejected by top clubs.
The 30-year-old broadcaster – who is an Arsenal fan – said: “It was incredible to be part of this series, which sees such talented young men get another chance at pursuing their dreams of playing professional football.
“As a football fan myself, it truly was a memorable journey, getting to know the players and supporting them in unlocking their potential, and I can’t wait for viewers to see it for themselves.”
In the series, the lads will also have access to professional mentors, including Manchester United and Portugal legend Bruno Fernandes and England Women’s star Millie Bright.
The mentors, who will include ex-QPR defender Anton Ferdinand and former Wycombe Wanderers star Adebayo Akinfenwa, will offer their perspective and guidance on the challenges they themselves have faced.
The BBC have also announced another new sports show – ‘Ballers: Ball or Nothing’, which will follow the story of Scotland’s only professional basketball team.
The club will begin life in the documentary series as The Glasgow Rocks but after new owners take over, they are rebranded as the Caledonia Gladiators.

Chris Packham: Sir David Attenborough tried to get me into opera

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Packham says Sir David Attenborough tried to “convince” him to become an opera fan.
The ‘Springwatch’ star – who has known the 97-year-old broadcaster since he was a teenager – has received loads of “great advice” and has learnt a lot from the ‘Blue Planet’ star, and sometimes wildlife is not the only thing they discuss together.
The 62-year-old nature expert told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I met him in Florida … We spent the whole evening together and he tried to convince me that opera was a good thing. I’ve had a lot of great advice from David but I’ve not got into the opera.”
Chris admitted it is “always a joy” to hang out with David, and he has a little tradition of giving him an artefact from “the natural world”.
He said: “I always make a point of taking something and giving him something, a bit of the natural world.
“The last time I saw him I gave him a feather and then the time before that, I can’t remember what it was, and a little while ago I gave him an intervertebral disc from a Fin whale. He loves it of course.”
The ex ‘The Really Wild Show’ star said the ‘Wild Isles’ narrator is “on really good form” as he approaches 100.
Chris said: “He’s 97, he’s obviously stepped back and he’s not doing as much work. When did I last see him? It must have been before Christmas now, or maybe just after Christmas and he was on really good form, really good form.
“I went to the car, to help him out of the car and he just leapt out and started off down the pavement.
“He is the greatest broadcaster there has ever been, the greatest advocate for the natural world that you will ever have, he’s inspired generations around the world to develop a love for life on earth. To call him a natural treasure is an insult because it’s an understatement, he’s a global treasure.”

She said: “It was casual, I didn’t wear a dress.
“I wore a nice boho-type top, trousers and a beautiful pair of sandals.

“Over a year later, we’re going to get married. We are what we are.
“It doesn’t matter. And I don’t give a damn.
“I’m safe and I’m loved and there’s no threat to me anymore and that’s what means the world to me.”

Lochan Nowacki and Tyrique Hyde clash on Love Island

OHMYGOSSIP — Lochan Nowacki and Tyrique Hyde have clashed on the latest episode of ‘Love Island’.
The duo became embroiled in an argument during the Graftie Awards, as it was revealed that Lochan had been discussing Abi Moores and Scott Van-Der-Sluis’ connection behind their backs.
After watching a clip of his co-star gossiping, Tyrique said: “Lochan be pillow-talking with his girl too much.”
However, Whitney Adebayo quickly came to his defence, insisting that Lochan’s behaviour wasn’t unusual.
She said: “What’s wrong with that? Everyone speaks to their partner.”
Tyrique then replied: “Not about certain stuff.”
Lochan, 25, subsequently accused his co-star of trying to involve himself in something that didn’t concern him.
He said: “His points are irrelevant. He’s piping up for no reason.”
But Tyrique refused to back down, insisting that he had the right to air his opinion.
He explained: “Don’t say what I’m saying is irrelevant because it ain’t irrelevant.”
Lochan then told him: “That’s fine then. You’re built like that – men are built different.”
By contrast, Lochan’s relationship with Whitney appears to be going from strength to strength.
During a one-on-one chat with the 25-year-old beauty, he told her: “We’ve been basically together from day one, it’s been four weeks and I know how much I like you, and I know how serious I am about you.”
Lochan has also suggested that they could have a long-term future together.
He said: “I do know that there is no one else here or outside that I’m trying to get to know. I do see you being my girlfriend on the outside.”
