Jesse Metcalfe wants to ‘push forward’ with John Tucker Must Die sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Jesse Metcalfe doesn’t believe the ‘John Tucker Must Die’ sequel has moved any further forward.
The 45-year-old actor starred as the titular teen heartbreaker in the 2006 cult teen comedy and though he revealed in March he had heard an “amazing” script had been written for a follow-up film, he’s not heard anything since.
He told Us Weekly magazine: “I’ve recently inquired about an update and I honestly don’t believe there are [any].
“People are still talking about it. I’d love to help push it forward, but I don’t really know how to do that.”
Jesse also admitted he’d embrace the idea of John having a teenage daughter in the sequel.
Asked who he’d like to see play his daughter, he said: “Honestly, I’m not that well-versed in actors in that age range, so I’d have to do some research on that and get back to you.
“But it’s a fun opportunity to work with a talented, young, up-and-coming actress, that’s for sure.
“I really liked all of the ladies that I worked with. I really did. I thought they were all great and unique in their own ways. I guess the one common denominator for all of them is that they’re all very intelligent.”
His co-star Arielle Kebbel previously confirmed she was heavily involved in the sequel.
Speaking with fellow cast members during a panel at Epic Cons Chicago, she said: “The rumour is true . I started producing a few years ago. There is a script. We are very proud of it.
“It does involve all of the OG cast… That’s pretty much all I can say for now.”
The actress teased that the John Tucker “may or may not get a chance to change”, while fellow castmate Sophia Bush insisted she’s “ready to go” and return as Beth McIntyre.
Metcalfe openly wondered if he’d have to wear a thong again, and Arielle quipped: “We wanted to talk to you about that.
“We were thinking you’d actually, like, make your own brand, endorse it. It’d be a whole thing.”
He replied: “I’m here for it. I can’t wait to unleash this dad bod on the big screen.”
The original 2006 movie saw jock hunk John Tucker in trouble after three girls – played by Sophia , Arielle and Ashanti – find out he has secretly been dating all three of them.
They put together a scheme to get new girl Kate (Brittany Snow) to seduce and eventually break his heart in a bid for revenge.

Francis Ford Coppola heaps praise on Todd Phillips

OHMYGOSSIP — Francis Ford Coppola has heaped praise on fellow director Todd Phillips.
The ‘Megalopolis’ helmsman has offered support to the 53-year-old filmmaker after his latest work, ‘Joker: Folie a Deux’, has opened behind expectations and became the first Hollywood comic book movie to receive just a D in Cinemascore, and he praised the ‘Hangover’ director for always surprising audiences.
Sharing a poster for ‘Joker: Folie a Deux’ – which stars Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga and features music prominently – Francis wrote on Instagram: “@ToddPhillips films always amaze me and I enjoy them thoroughly. Ever since the wonderful “The Hangover” he’s always one step ahead of the audience never doing what they expect. Congratulations to Joker: Folie à Deux!”
The 85-year-old director – whose own latest movie, ‘Megalopolis’, has also performed poorly at the box office and with critics – also thanked cinematographer Lawrence Sher for crediting his own 1981 musical ‘One From the Heart’ as being an inspiration for the ‘Joker’ sequel.
He added: “I am also honored that the films DP, Lawrence Sher, mentioned that the film is visually inspired by “One From the Heart” (sic)”
The veteran filmmaker recently explained he deliberately set out to defy convention with ‘Megalopolis’ so wasn’t too concerned with the reaction from critics.
Speaking to Empire magazine, he said: “The movie business tries to encourage everyone to think there’s only one way a movie can be. It has to have a protagonist, then, in the first few minutes, it has to have an antagonist.
“They are prescribing a formula that they’ll be able to sell over and over again. So when a movie comes along that doesn’t fit that formula and they don’t think it’s a new formula that can be repeated, they don’t want to do it because they feel there’s too much risk.
“‘Apocalypse Now’ is a perfect example. When it came out, people said, ‘What the hell is this?’ But they never stopped going to see it. With ‘Megalopolis’ you can’t put a label on it. And that’s great. That’s the kind of film I like.”

Todd Phillips praises Steve Coogan’s work opposite Joaquin Phoenix in Joker: Folie a Deux

OHMYGOSSIP — Todd Phillips loved watching Steve Coogan go “toe-to-toe” with Joaquin Phoenix in ‘Joker: Folie a Deux’.
The 53-year-old director picked the British comedian to play TV personality Paddy Meyers, who interviews Joaquin as Arthur Fleck in Arkham Asylum in the sequel.
Todd admits one of his favourite scenes in the the original 2019 ‘Joker’ film is when Arthur is interviewed by Robert De Niro’s Murray Franklin on his talk show, and he wanted Coogan’s interaction with Phoenix to match it.
In an interview with HeyUGuys, Todd said: “It’s always interesting to me to put someone like Joaquin toe-to-toe essentially, literally with another actor, and you really want to put him across somebody great, you know.
“In the first movie, he had this nine-minute scene with Robert De Niro, right, and in this movie, it is a nine-minute scene essentially with Steve Coogan and to me, as a director, those are the fun ones to watch where you are like, ‘Oh boy, here we go. Let me see these two go at it.'”
Todd also praised Brendan Gleeson, 69, for his performance as Jackie Sullivan, an abusive guard at Arkham State Hospital.
He added: “Brendan is a world-class actor, and Steve Coogan can do anything. He’s just amazing to have around.”
The ‘Hangover’ director admitted that he didn’t purposely seek to cast British and Irish talent in his movies but the two nations are widely considered by Hollywood to produce incredible actors.
He said: “A lot of directors I think feel this, some of our best actors come out of the UK but its not an intentional thing, of me going, ‘Ooh we want a British or an Irish actor.”
The ‘War Dogs’ director is also enthused about getting to work with Joaquin – who stars opposite Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn in the DC Comics film – again because it is “so helpful” to understand each other in order for both the director and the star to do their best work.
Todd said: “You develop a short-hand with each other that is just kind of so helpful, when making a movie, you kind of can complete each other’s sentences or thoughts about where a scene should go or where it’s headed.”

He said: “She has made me laugh so much, I have never seen someone work so hard – I’m the one asking for breaks every now and then! She just kept going, she wanted to learn so much.
“If you saw her in the hallway she’s been practicing. Everyone’s been telling me, ‘Have you seen Toyah practicing?’, she’s brilliant and she’s what ‘Strictly’ is all about, and I’ve loved every moment”

“I thought it’s a new opportunity in life. I have no interest in being famous.”
Martha, 26, warned she could be a “little in your face and dramatic”, while forensic psychologist Ali, 38, was concerned her strong opinions could cause a problem.
Thomas, a 20-year-old amputee footballer is in it to win it.
He said: “Everyone is going to go on to the show thinking they’re just here for the experience but I feel like that’s a lie.
“You would not be going on the show if you didn’t think about the prize pot and about being the winner of ‘Big Brother’.”
Hanah promised to bring “pure vibes” to the house, while Izaaz, 29, promised not to be afraid to speak his mind.
Barber Dean, 35, has wanted to go on the show “since the age of 11” and is well aware that it’s “a game”.
Marcello, 34, is hoping to find “a romance [or] a bromance” with a housemate, while Sarah, 27, warned she could be “annoying and messy”.
As the housemates entered the house, they were asked to take their place on the red side or blue side.
At the end of the show, AJ and Will revealed the blue side – just five housemates – were housemates and had the run of the building, while the remainder were placed “in storage” and automatically put up for the first eviction.

Tommy Fury ‘knows what to do’ to fix relationship with Molly-Mae Hague

OHMYGOSSIP — Tommy Fury “knows what to do” to fix his relationship with Molly-Mae Hague.
The reality TV stars – who met during their stint on ‘Love Island’ together – split in August after five years together and Tommy has since denied rumours he cheated on Molly-Mae – and he’s now determined to repair their romance for the sake of their young daughter Bambi.
He told Mail Plus: ” We were together for five and a half years. You don’t stay with someone, have a child with them, get engaged, if it is only a bit of a fling … “It is proper love. Do I still love Molly? 100 per cent. I will love her until my final breath. The minute I saw her, I thought, ‘Yes, she’s the woman of my dreams …”
Tommy went on to add: “I know what I have to do in order to resolve things. And that’s down to me. Nobody else can do that other than me.
“I do think things will work themselves out. Do I love my family very much? Yes. Do I want me and my family to be back together? Yes, 100 per cent. I will always love my family.”
The former couple welcomed their daughter last year and went on to get engaged before their shock split this summer.
Molly-Mae announced the break-up on Instagram, but neither has given the reason for the split. Tommy added to Mail Plus: “It’s a thing that was there previously to all this happening, but the only people who know what is going on in our relationship is me and Molly.”
In a video posted on her YouTube channel, Molly-Mae previously insisted she doesn’t feel “comfortable” discussing the details of the break-up.
She told her followers: “My coping mechanism for the last couple of weeks is talking to the people that I love and [who] are so close to me and that has been so incredible through this time.
“I don’t really ever plan on talking about the last couple of weeks. It’s just not something that I feel comfortable with … Out of respect to Tommy as well, because it’s just not nice and I feel like everything over the last couple of weeks has really been a lot.
“For me, the best way to deal with this is just to move forward.”

Janette Manrara ‘got emotional’ watching husband dance with Tasha Ghouri on Strictly

OHMYGOSSIP — Janette Manrara is “so happy” to see her husband Aljaž Škorjanec back on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 40-year-old TV star – who tied the knot with Aljaž, 34, in 2017 and has Lyra, 15 months, with him – is thrilled that her husband is back to his duties as a professional on the BBC Latin and ballroom show after five years away and even “got emotional” when she saw him dance with ‘Love Island’ star Tasha Ghouri.
Speaking on the ‘Monday Mile’ podcast, she told host Aimee Fuller: “I’m so happy he’s back, I think the whole country is. He’s back where he belongs. He shines on that dance floor. He loves to teach.
“It was amazing to watch him, and I was there at the live show.
“After he finished his dance with Tasha, I got teary-eyed, I got emotional, it was just so beautiful to see him back doing what he loves.”
Janette – who also served as a professional on the competition but now hosts the show’s spin-off series ‘Strictly: It Takes Two’ – admitted that she struggled in her first year as a professional, especially because her husband went on to win with model Abbey Clancey in 2013 while she ended up thinking she was a “complete failure” at the job.
She said: “It was hard, because obviously it was my first year ever on Strictly, and Aljaž’s first year on ‘Strictly’, he was dancing with Abbey Clancy, and I was dancing with Julien MacDonald. Julien MacDonald and I were in the dance off every single week for four weeks until we got eliminated.
“And then Aljaž went on to win it with Abby and it was so hard for me emotionally, because I obviously wanted to do a good job and impress a new country, a new audience of people, new co-workers that I had never really worked with before. I just felt like I was a complete failure, like I didn’t do a good job, I didn’t belong there, I thought I don’t deserve this job.”

Pamela Anderson used real life struggles for The Last Showgirl

OHMYGOSSIP — Pamela Anderson drew on her real life struggles for her role in new movie ‘The Last Showgirl’.
The former ‘Baywatch’ star plays a veteran Las Vegas performer in the film – directed by Gia Coppola – and Pamela, 57, admits she couldn’t have played the part if she hadn’t gone through similar challenges in the real world.
Speaking during an appearance at the Zurich Film Festival, Pamela explained: “I don’t think I could have played this character [in ‘The Last Showgirl’] if I wouldn’t have the life that I had, so it was worth it.
“If I can continue working and using these struggles and challenges … I’ll feel blessed.”
The actress went on to reveal the film role came about after director Gia saw her Netflix documentary ‘Pamela, a Love Story’ and realised her capabilities.
According to Variety, Pamela added: “That’s how Gia saw me [in the documentary]. I always knew I was capable of more. It’s great to be a part of pop culture, but it’s a blessing and a curse. People fall in love with you because of a bathing suit. It has taken a long time, but I am here.”
She added of the film: “I transformed and that was my intention. Before, I remember thinking: ‘This might be my only chance. I might never do another movie’.”
Pamela has become known for wearing little make-up over the last few years and she carried that over into the film – admitting her co-stars also embraced the look after seeing Pamela go bare-faced.
She said: “Even the girls wanted to do the ‘no-make-up’ make-up look.
“They asked: ‘No contour, no lip gloss, nothing?’ Gia was like: ‘Well, Pam is not wearing any.’ I really wanted people to see me and it was a perfect opportunity to just take it all away. Walking with a bare face is so vulnerable.”

Uma Thurman reveals why she ‘very nervous”’to meet the director of Oh, Canada!

OHMYGOSSIP — Uma Thurman was “very nervous” to meet the director of ‘Oh, Canada!’
The 54-year-old actress has worked with numerous filmmakers over her several decades in Hollywood but as she arrived to film the new drama film, admitted that she was wary of Paul Schrader because she is such a “big fan” of his to begin with.
Speaking during a Q+A session at the New York Film Festival, she said: “I mean, Paul Schrader! I’m a really big fan of Paul Schrader. So to get to contribute, to lend myself to his piece, and get to see him working was a real, real privilege.
“I was very nervous to meet him, you know, this macho filmmaker [who] made these legendary films.”
Paul is known for directing hits such as ‘Blue Collar’, and ‘Light Sleeper’ but also wrote the screenplay for ‘Taxi Driver’, which earned a teenage Jodie Foster her first Oscar nomination.
Uma added: “I think the cast and crew were all there for Paul and learned so much, just watching him as a master. So centered and I would say a big softie.”
The ’Pulp Fiction’ star plays Emma in the new film, which is based on the book ‘Foregone’ by Russell Banks and follows a legendary filmmaker as he tells his own story for the first time.
She added: “The movie was shot in a very precise, quick way. There was not a lot of time. And to see a sort of master of cinema who is going to have to go in and get precisely exactly what he wants and needs… and has the entire vernacular language of cinema at his fingertips was just breathtaking.”
‘Oh, Canada!’ is set to be released on December 6.

Emily Atack reveals ‘confusion’ over early days of fame: ‘I didn’t realise the narrative…’

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Atack feels “confused” about her early days of fame.
The 34-year-old comedienne first became known when she was cast as Charlotte Hincliffe on E4 sitcom ‘The Inbetweeners’ in 2008 and initially used her sudden notoriety to her advantage as she “celebrated” her youth and her body in the media.
She told The Guardian: “All of a sudden, I was getting recognised in the street; when I went to clubs and bars with my fake ID, because I was on TV, they’d let me in, bring over a big bottle with a firework in it, because you’re the girl from ‘The Inbetweeners’. I really enjoyed that people were really fun and nice to me. This is where I I get confused.
“And I was confused then. I didn’t have a clue. I was told, ‘You’ve got a photoshoot today’ and it would be for Loaded magazine, or for FHM to promote series two of The Inbetweeners. So I was all, ‘Yep, clothes off, bikini on. Whatever.’ Genuinely, I had no problems with that – I enjoyed those shoots. I was celebrating my youth and my sexuality in beautiful locations, wearing gorgeous underwear, with lovely crews of people and photographers, and I f****** loved it. It was great. I naively didn’t think what narrative was being painted for me.”
But the former ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! contestant insisted that when she did undertake racy photoshoots, she wasn’t trying to be “overly sexual” and was just trying to promote whatever project she was working on at the time.
She said: “People go, ‘How can you not expect it? You’re stood up there in your pants, going, ‘Look at me!’ But in my head, I wasn’t doing that. I wasn’t putting myself out there in an overtly sexual way. Genuinely, I was just doing a photoshoot to promote my work!”

The 46-year-old cyclist and swimmer – who is the most decorated British Paralympian of all time with 30 medals to her name – will be taking to the rink on the next series of ITV’s skating competition when it returns to screens early next year.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’, she said: “Being able to do something different during the first winter after a games is a really healthy thing to do. It gives you headspace, it keeps you fit and healthy. It’s 20 years since I did any cross training thought it was about time that I extended my skill base.”
Sarah – who was born with a disability that affected the development of her left hand – is “not an expert” in skating but is looking forward to learning a new skill before the sport makes it back into the mainstream as part of the Winter Olympics in 2026.
She said: “I’ve never danced and skated. I’ve skated at birthday parties as a child, and I’ve proved I can go from one side of the rink to the other without falling over but I’m not an expert by any stretch. I’ve never been twirled, I can’t go backwards, yet!
“Learning a new skill, having a new opportunity to put yourself out there again, but also in a sport, because this is a sport that we will see at the Winter Olympics in less than 18 months’ time this is the opportunity to learn that sport. Everything can follow along with us in a very short space of time.”
The sports star has completed the lineup for the upcoming edition of the competition series, and will join footballer Anton Ferdinand, former ‘EastEnders’ actress Charlie Brooks, and Chelsee Healey – who is known for her roles in ‘Waterloo Road’ and ‘Hollyoaks’ – in the rink.

Simon Cowell has no plans on reducing workload as he hits 65

OHMYGOSSIP — Simon Cowell has no plans on reducing his workload.
The entertainment mogul turned 65 on Monday (07.10.24) and it has now been claimed that he has the same “drive and interest” that led him to becoming one of the most powerful names in the television with shows such as ‘The X Factor’ and ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
An insider told the Daily Star newspaper: “Simon is not thinking about the significance of turning 65 as any kind of sign to slow down or retire.
“That is the last thing on his mind as he tells his co-workers, ‘It is what I do.'”
Meanwhile, Simon previously explained that he believes social media is killing the quality of the music industry after years of discovering famous faces such as Alexandra Burke, Stacey Solomon, and Susan Boyle through his television programs.
The talent show judge is currently searching for the next One Direction as a part of his new Netflix documentary ‘The Midas Touch’, though has reportedly been left disappointed with the less-than-stellar turnout of contestants.
Reflecting on the state of the music industry, Simon hit out at social media for allowing wannabe artists to by-pass traditional records labels and make it big.
He told Greatest Hits Radio: “The reality is that every day something like 200,000 songs are uploaded [to social media] so weirdly less people are getting signed, and less people are breaking worldwide.
“It’s the worst I’ve ever known it since I’ve been in the music business.”
Simon – who formed One Direction in 2010 after the five aspiring singers Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Liam Payne appeared on ‘The X Factor’ – emphasised there was still a hunger for boybands, and argued the group would have “the biggest ticket sale in history” if they ever reformed.
He explained: “Those records have really stood the test of time they still really, really sound great.
“Imagine if they did reform and their tickets went on sale? They would have the biggest ticket sale in history, I genuinely believe that.
“I don’t know whether that’s going to happen or not so I’m going to find the next generation.”

Amanda Holden admits her rarely-seen husband is ‘worried’ about her

OHMYGOSSIP — Amanda Holden’s husband is concerned about her cycling 250 miles over the next five days to raise money for charity.
The ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge is taking on the challenge of cycling from her mum’s house in Cornwall to the Heart radio studio in London in five days this week to raise money for Global’s Make Some Noise appeal and Amanda -who is married to Chris Hughes- has shared that her husband is “losing sleep” about her taking part in the challenge.
Amanda, 53, told The Sun newspaper: “Chris hasn’t been able to sleep.
“He woke me up the other day and said, ‘Do you know what you’re wearing?’ And then he’s like, ‘I don’t think we’ve thought this through. I’m really worried about you.'”
Amanda also shared that Chris – who she has been married to for nearly 16 years – will be meeting her at the end point.
She added: “He’s even promised to meet me at the end.
“Chris hates attention and he hates being on camera but he wants to meet me at the end. He never worries about me but I think he really is.
“He told me, ‘Normally I look forward to it when you’re not in the house but now I am really worried about you.’”
The annual appeal raises money for small charities across the UK, including those supporting mental health and domestic abuse helplines and community projects.
Amanda said: “With Global Make Some Noise, 100 per cent of your donation goes to the actual charity and it supports all of the tiny, community charities that really struggle for money. That why it’s so special to me.
“I’ve always said we put our arms around these charities and make them feel wanted and just support them.
“Some of these charities are so new and young and often they are born from people experiencing real tragedy in their lives.
“They make a positive impact and a difference. I’m all for that.
“You know, if everyone who was listening to Heart Breakfast donated a pound we would make millions.”

Katy O’Brian to star opposite Glen Powell in The Running Man

OHMYGOSSIP — Katy O’Brian has joined the cast of ‘The Running Man’.
‘The Mandalorian’ actress, 35, will be reuniting with her ‘Twisters’ co-star Glen Powell in the upcoming adaption of Stephen King’s 1982 thriller of the same name, which will be directed by ‘Baby Driver’ filmmaker Edgar Wright.
The book – which was previously adapted for the big screen in the Arnold Schwarzenegger-led flick in 1987 – follows a falsely convicted police officer who is forced to participate in the TV game show ‘The Running Man’, which sees convicts have to run to freedom to avoid a brutal death.
Paramount Pictures recently announced the upcoming picture will hit cinemas on 21 November 2025, with production rumoured to start later this year.
Previously, Powell revealed he was “doing a lot of sprinting” to prepare for the movie.
Speaking with Screen Rant, he said: “I have been doing a lot of sprinting. That’s all I can say. I’ve been working on my sprint.”
The ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ star gushed about getting the chance to work with “one of [his] favourite filmmakers” and teased the director would be adding adding “a lot of fun Edgar Wright flavour” to the flick.
He continued: “No, I’ll say that Edgar Wright has been one of my favourite filmmakers for as long as I can remember. I think since ‘Shaun of the Dead’, I was like, ‘I can’t wait to work with this guy’.
“And he just keeps churning out brilliant things that only his brain could concoct.
“‘The Running Man’ is something he’s so passionate about, and we’re really taking the Stephen King book and just adding a lot of fun Edgar Wright flavour to it, and it has been awesome. That’s going to be a really fun one; I’m super excited about it.”
Powell also explained he would be juggling work on the project with completing his degree in Spanish and Early American History at the University of Texas in Austin, which he plans to complete over Zoom.
He told IndieWire: “I’m not going to be sitting in a class with other students on the regular.
“I’m basically going to be coming back because I have to finish up, but I’m going to be shooting ‘The Running Man’ in the fall. So, I’m going to be in London, but I am going to be going back for proctored exams.
“So, they’re letting me figure it out [with] distance learning. And I’m obviously going to be coming in, Zooming in for classes and whatnot, but I have to be back for the proctored exams.”

Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh got carried away during ‘passionate sex scene’ for We Live in Time

OHMYGOSSIP — Andrew Garfield has revealed he and Florence Pugh went “a little bit further than [they] were meant to” for their ‘We Live in Time’ sex scene.
The 41-year-old actor appears opposite the ‘Oppenheimer’ star, 28, in the A24 romance-comedy movie, and has admitted the pair got a little carried away during a “very intimate, passionate sex scene” because they didn’t hear a call of ‘cut’ from the crew.
During an appearance on the 92nd Street Y in New York City, Garfield told the crowd: “The scene becomes passionate, as we choreographed it.
“And we get into it as it were, and we go a little bit further than we were meant to because we didn’t hear ‘cut’ and it’s feeling safe. And we’re just kinda like, ‘Ok, we’ll just go into the next thing, we’ll let this progress, and we’ll just carry on.’”
‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ star added that he and Pugh continued performing the intimate sequence for such a long time that it forced the camera operator to turn away.
He explained: “And at a certain point, both of us, we’re both kind of telepathically saying to each other, ‘This definitely feels like a longer take.’
“I look up, and in the corner is Stuart and our boom operator. Stuart has the camera by his side and he’s turned into the wall.”
The film – which will be getting a limited theatrical release in the US on 11 October before it hits UK cinemas on 1 January 2025 – follows a budding chef (Pugh) who finds love with a recent divorcee (Garfield) and the couple eventually become wrapped up in a decade-long romance.
However, a life-changing discovery forces the pair into making an impossible decision about their future.
‘We Live in Time’ marks Garfield’s first Hollywood role in three years and he explained that his time away from acting has given him a fresh enthusiasm for making movies.
When The Hollywood Reporter asked ‘Tick, Tick … Boom!’ Star if he was on sabbatical now, he replied: “I think so. Yeah, I think I’m excited to work again in a different way. I feel looser, I feel less precious. I feel more joyful. I feel more aware.
“I feel established enough as a person in the world, as an actor within myself and within the world. I know myself well enough now to feel more enjoyment… I’m still a headcase — when I’m on a set, I’m like a dog with a bone and get taken over by some weird spirit that is never satisfied — but that’s never going to change, and I don’t want it to, but within that, I can feel a lot more pleasure and a lot more enjoyment, play and freedom.”

Sue Barker to reunite with Phil Tufnell and Matt Dawson for live stage show

OHMYGOSSIP — Sue Barker will reunite with Phil Tufnell and Matt Dawson for ‘A Question Of…Live’.
The 68-year-old star presented ‘A Question of Sport’ for the BBC from 1997 until 2021 and is now set to get back together with her former co-stars for a stage show that will visit theatres up and down the UK throughout March 2025.
Sue said: “‘I am thrilled to be reuniting with Matt and Phil. We love a quiz. We love a laugh. Can’t wait!!
The live show will feature rounds and challenges familiar to everyone, along with exciting new elements created just for the tour.”
Matt said: “I am delighted to be going on tour with Sue and Tuffers and welcoming back some of our favourite sporting guests from over the years.’
Each show will feature a panel of special guest sporting superstars, with line-up announcements coming closer to the event. Audience members will get a chance to test their sporting knowledge against Matt, Phil, and their teams right from their seats.
Phil added: “‘I can’t wait to get back on the road with the dream team of Sue, Matt and me! Good luck Sue in looking after Matt and me and all our great guests.”
Sue announced her departure the BBC quiz show in 2020 after almost quarter of a century, and was replaced by former ‘Take Me Out’ host Paddy McGuinness, but the broadcaster pulled the series altogether in 2023.
At the time, Sue said: “Hopefully they’ll bring it back because they haven’t said they’re going to bin it forever. So bring it back and have fun again, it’ll be great.
“I think that a lot of people miss it. I used to get people coming up to me and say, how can I get on ‘A Question of Sport’? And I had to say, look, it’s not my decision, but you have to keep winning, you have to keep putting yourself out there.”
