Kady McDermott says Love Island’s Mitch has ‘studied every series’

OHMYGOSSIP — Kady McDermott claims her ‘Love Island’ co-star Mitchel Taylor is “fake” and “has studied every series” of the show.
The former Islander – who previously competed on the 2016 series – returned to the villa this summer as a bombshell and coupled up with footballer Ouzy See before being dumped from the show and she’s now opened up about Mitch and his “fake” romance with Ella B.
Speaking to Heat magazine, she explained: “Ella B and Mitch. It’s fake from both sides. In the villa we were with each other every second of the day. We know if there is genuine connections or not. Them two are faking it.”
She added of Mitch: “He’s being smart because Mitch is very like, he’s studied every series of Love Island. He’s like super fan ‘Love Island’.
“He even said to me he wants to be a memorable character. I think he’s smart, he knows that they’re all going to vote them as the least compatible so he’s throwing that madness out there, Ella B’s fake to confirm the fact that he knows they’re already going.”
Kady also threw shade at another former co-star Scott van-der-Sluis – claiming he didn’t plan on staying loyal to partner Catherine Agbaje during Casa Amor but didn’t couple up with another girl because there was no one there he fancied.
She said: “He admitted to me that he would have recoupled in Casa if the line-up was better.”
Scott previously insisted he had been left heartbroken after Catherine returned with new man Elom Ahlijah-Wilson while he remained loyal by declining to couple up with one of the new girls.
He has since struck up a romance with one of the girls from Casa – Abi Moores – after her fledgling relationship with Mitch crumbled.

Victoria Ekanoye to strip for the Real Full Monty

OHMYGOSSIP — Victoria Ekanoye has signed up for ‘The Real Full Monty’.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ actress “jumped at the chance” to get involved with the show – which sees a string of stars strip as part of a campaign to raise awareness of checking for early signs of cancer – because she has battled breast cancer herself.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column:
“Victoria has personal experience of the disease after being diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2021.
“So when she was asked she jumped at the chance of being involved in The Real Full Monty.
“She wants to do everything she can to encourage men and women to check themselves and the whole premise of the show is to get people talking.
“Victoria is a natural performer and will give it her all when it comes to getting her kit off with her co-stars.”
The 41-year-old actress – who portrayed Angie Appleton on the ITV soap from 2017 to 2019 – found a lump in her breast while feeding her newborn son and was diagnosed with ductal carcinoma in situ. She went on to undergo a double mastectomy and has overcome the disease.
Victoria joins the likes of ‘Dancing on Ice’ skater Vanessa Bauer and the late Princess Diana’s butler Paul Burrell – who was diagnosed with prostate cancer last year – in signing up for the show.
An insider told The Sun newspaper earlier this month: “Vanessa sadly lost her dear dad to cancer in 2021 so when she was asked to take part in she jumped at the chance.
“It was incredibly emotional for both Vanessa and Paul during filming but they knew by taking part they would help to make a difference and get people checking themselves.
‘Naturally there were lots of laughs along the way — getting your kit off on camera makes people incredibly silly but it was all very good fun.”
Former footballer Ashley Cain is also said to have signed up after losing his baby daughter Azaylia to leukaemia at just eight months old in 2021.

‘I couldn’t have written this!’ Countdowns star Rachel Riley never imagined she would be famous

OHMYGOSSIP — Rachel Riley never imagined she would be famous.
The 37-year-old TV star replaced the long-serving Carol Vorderman as the co-host of puzzle gameshow ‘Countdown’ shortly after she graduated with a Maths degree from the University of Oxford in 2009 and feels “lucky” to have been able to explore other sides of show business because of her job.
She told Metro newspaper’s SixtySeconds column: “I used to watch ‘Countdown’ as a kid and the maths was obviously my favourite bit. Often when I get asked to do a campaign or photoshoot, I’m asked to wear a white coat or something, and I’m like, ‘I am a mathematician.
“This is what I look like, this is what I wear. I don’t have to wear a white coat.’
It’s good to have a mix of people as role models. If you can relate to them you think, “Maybe I could do that.’
“I’m lucky that in my job I get to dip in and out of a load of industries. When I was young, these jobs didn’t exist. And kids growing up now will be doing jobs that don’t currently exist. There’s so much opportunity there now for STEM students.
“There’s only one ‘Countdown’, obviously. I was doing a maths degree and my mum said, ‘Are you going to be Carol Vorderman then?” And I was like, ‘What an idiot.’ Because it was ridiculous!”
Rachel – who has competed on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ and married her professional partner Pasha Kovalev from the series – went on to add that she had “never” done any performing when she landed the job and “would have laughed” at how her life eventually turned out.
She said: “It wasn’t even that job, it was Carol. I had never done any drama or public speaking so I had to learn it all on the job.
“I couldn’t have written any of this. An Essex girl who liked football and was a bit of a maths geek, ended up on ‘Countdown’ and married to a Russian ballroom dancer… I would have laughed you out of the room!”

Cillian Murphy open to playing Ken in Barbie 2

OHMYGOSSIP — Cillian Murphy is open to playing a Ken in a ‘Barbie’ sequel.
The 47-year-old actor is currently promoting his movie ‘Oppenheimer’ at the same time as Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling are promoting their film about the beloved Mattel dolls, and the ‘Peaky Blinders’ star admitted he would happily “have a conversation” to discuss getting involved with the rival blockbuster.
Speaking to ‘Omelete’, Cillian said: “Would I play a Ken in ‘Barbie 2’? Sure, yeah. Let’s read the script, let’s have a conversation.”
Despite both ‘Barbie’ and ‘Oppenheimer’ being released at the same time, Cillian insisted it is “great for cinema” to have such major box office draws going head-to-head.
He said: “I can’t wait to see [Barbie]. I can’t wait to see the movie. I think it’s great for cinema to get all these great movies happening this summer.”
‘Barbie’ casting directors Lucy Bevan and Allison Jones recently discussed how they had gathered the perfect ensemble to play the different Kens in the film, with roles going to the likes of Ryan Gosling, Simu Liu, Ncuti Gatwa and John Cena.
Allison told Vanity Fair magazine: “We needed actors who could get the fact that our Barbies only knew pleasant things.”
Lucy added: “They were definitely really different, but they had to feel like a cohesive group. You wanted to cast people who were really going to get on and be great and enjoy it.”
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, some potential Kens were ruled out because they couldn’t spend three months in London for the shoot, with the pair revealing Bowen Yang, Ben Platt and Dan Levy all missed out due to scheduling conflicts.
Allison said: “They were, I’m not kidding, really bummed they couldn’t do it.”

Layton Williams wants to pair up with a man on Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Layton Williams reportedly wants to partner with a man on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 28-year-old actor could be joining the next series of the BBC One Latin and ballroom competition and believes that he could “go the distance” after the first few – which include boxer Nicola Adams, 40, and pro Katya Jones, 34 along with BBC Radio 2 presenter Richie Anderson, 35, and Giovanni Pernice, 32 – went out in the early weeks.
A telly insider told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “This year, everyone is hoping for a same-sex couple who can go the distance.
“Layton is a phenomenal performer and the pros will probably queue up to work with him.”
The West End star – who is rumoured to be joining other contestants like ex ‘Love Island’ star Zara McDermott, 26, ‘This Morning’ presenter Josie Gibson,38, and Wham! icon Andrew Ridgeley, 60, – apparently “ruffled a few feathers” when he was suggested to compete due to being “professionally trained in dance and hit the big time when he was cast in the stage version of ‘Billy Elliot’ aged 12.
A source told the MailOnline: “He is professionally trained and has extensive experience with learning difficult choreography, which many of the contestants, especially those from a sporting or political background, will at first find impossible.
“The show has been criticised in the past for recruiting contestants with a background in dance and this year will be no different as Layton is a star in his own right and known for being an impeccable dancer on stage.
Layton recently gushed about how “important” the first British same-sex dating show ‘I Kissed A Boy’ – which was hosted by Dannii Minogue, 51, on BBC Three – was made.
He said: “It’s important for visibility. It’s important for us to be seen and it’s important to show that our love is just like everybody else’s. It’s pure and raw and we deserve love. In the early days of our lives, we can feel like we don’t deserve love and we hide ourselves. We’re closeted and we’re told by the society that we grow up in that we should be kissing girls and then you have to find a way to get out the closet.”

‘You have to stand up for youself!’ Chloe Madely reveals how she deals with online trolls

OHMYGOSSIP — Chloe Madeley “ignores” online hate about herself.
The 36-year-old star – who is the daughter of ‘This Morning’ legends Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan – welcomed her daughter Bodhi in August 2022 with husband James Haskell and explained that she doesn’t want to “stay quiet” when it comes to trolling.
She told The Sun: “I think we all deal with it differently, sometimes I respond.
“I’m not a big believer that you should take the high ground and stay quiet.
“I think it’s important to set an example to other people who are reading my stuff or watching my stuff, that it’s okay to stick up for yourself and it doesn’t make you a weak person, sometimes it makes you a strong, capable and self-aware person.
“I don’t have any issues sticking up for myself sometimes, a lot of the time I ignore it.”
The former ‘Dancing on Ice’ contestant went on to add that as time has gone on since the birth of her daughter, she has become more and more relaxed as a mother.
She added: “I think we all mother differently, when Bodhi as a newborn, I was so hyper-focused on what I had to do when – ‘what milestone was coming in a weeks time… was she going to go through another leap…what do I have to do to get her to say mumma and dada.
“It’s so funny because as she’s got older and she’s only 11 months, I’ve got more and more laissez-faire about it and as a result I think Bodhi has become more relaxed and happy and I’ve become more relaxed and happy and my husband has become more relaxed and happy.
“I’ve become very, unless she’s around a swimming pool or a plug socket, where I’m a psychopath, I’m very much ‘it’s okay, I’ll be led by her’.”

‘They’re on their own!’ Jeremy Clarkson wants to raise awareness of suicide rates amongst farmers

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeremy Clarkson is trying to raise awareness of farmers who take their own lives.
The ‘Clarkson’s Farm’ presenter – who purchased Diddly Squat farm in 2008 and began filming his Amazon Prime Show in 2019 – has spoken out about the increasing number of rural workers choosing to end their lives amid the revelation that the rate is three times higher for farmers than the national average.
The 63-year-old broadcaster told the Daily Star newspaper: “How many farmers are literally on their own, absolutely on their own right now, on a tractor, and all they’re thinking is, ‘I’m going to have zero money,’ and they’ve got a family at home.
“It’s why the suicide rate on farms is just… ”
Jeremy recently revealed that certain bottles of his Hawkstone Ciders need to be chucked “away” after there was an issue with the brewing.
He said on Twitter: “There’s been a massive c*** up and as a result, there’s a very slim chance, some of our Hawkstone CIDER bottles might, there’s no easy way of saying this, explode. If the cap has the code L3160, open it underwater, pour it away and get in touch for a refund.”
The former ‘Top Gear’ presenter urged customers that Hawkstone Beer is still “fine and delicious” and “almost all” of the cider was not impacted by the problem. ~
Jeremy added: “Really sorry about this but on the upside, the beer is fine and still delicious. As is the cider, in bottles that are unaffected. Which is almost all of them.”
Over on Instagram, the brand – which was founded in 2021 and uses produced grown on his farm – said that “a small amount” of the apple-based alcoholic drink had over-fermented.
They continued: “Take a photo of the caps and we will send you a fresh batch or a refund.”

‘I haven’t told many people this…’ Love Island’s Laura Whitmore opens up about being stalked

OHMYGOSSIP — Laura Whitmore was sent “threatening letters” by her stalker.
The former ‘Love Island’ host opens up about the “scary” communication – which reached a peak when they sent “correspondence” to her own home that she shares with her husband, comedian Iain Stirling and daughter Steve, two – she was getting from someone who would not leave her alone on her new ITX documentary, ‘Laura Whitmore Investigates’.
The 38-year-old TV star said in the programme, according to The Sun newspaper’s TVBiz column: “I haven’t told many people this but I was the victim of a stalking incident.
“I was receiving threatening letters to my workplace and eventually got correspondence to the letterbox at my home, which makes it feel more real.
“The perpetrator set up some fake online profile accounts and this was years ago, social media wasn’t as big as it is now. I didn’t really know it was stalking, or what it was, I just knew it was scary.
“There’s an expectation, I guess, if you have a public profile that this behaviour will come with the territory.”
Laura recently also shared about her “stalking incident” and how she was frightened to talk about it.
She told BBC Breakfast: “I had a stalking incident years ago and I almost was afraid to talk about it because there’s embarrassment, when I went to the police at that time.
“I was told it was ‘kind of expected with the type of job you have’ and then you’re a bit mortified and you don’t say anything else.
“So these three films that I’ve made about different topics, the darker side of humanity looking at everything from toxic masculinity to cyberstalking and more, I need to talk about these things because if we don’t talk about it, it won’t get better.”

‘I have no idea where we go from here’: Zachary Levi casts doubt on DC future

OHMYGOSSIP — Zachary Levi has cast doubt on his future in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU).
The 42-year-old star reprised his role as Billy Batson/Shazam in the sequel ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’ earlier this year but is uncertain whether he will play the role again after the movie flopped at the box office.
Speaking on The FilmUp Podcast, Zachary said: “I don’t know what the future holds, because ‘Fury of the Gods’ was not well received. I have no idea where we go from here.”
The ‘Mauritanian’ star is standing by the superhero blockbuster despite its poor commercial performance and thinks it will be viewed differently once it is revisited in the future.
Zachary said: “It’ll be one of those things that people will go back and watch, on home streaming or on a plane or whatever, and they’ll be like, ‘Well, wait a minute!'”
The actor has been hurt by the disappointing response to the movie and took to Instagram earlier this year in an impassioned defence of the picture.
In a post on the social media site, Zachary said: “It’s a throwback to all the movies that we knew and loved growing up in the 80s and 90s. You’ll thoroughly enjoy it.
“It’s disappointing to not be doing as well as I think we deserve to be, because I think we made a really great movie. But s*** happens.
“It is a fantastic, fun for the whole family movie. Just like the first one, it’s got the heart, the humour, the charm, the adventure, the spookiness. I don’t know how you can go to a movie like this and not feel joy, or fun like some people have said. I don’t know how that’s even possible.”
He continued: “Is it a perfect film? No. But I’m hard-pressed to think of any perfect films. But we are a far better film than some of those critics have given us credit for.”

‘There’s a lot of passion’: Greta Gerwig responds to right-wing Barbie anger

OHMYGOSSIP — Greta Gerwig did not anticipate the conservative criticism of ‘Barbie’.
The 39-year-old filmmaker has helmed the blockbuster about the iconic toy doll that features Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling and has diplomatically responded to complaints about the ‘woke’ picture in right-wing quarters.
Greta told The New York Times newspaper: “Certainly, there’s a lot of passion.
“My hope for the movie is that it’s an invitation for everybody to be part of the party and let go of the things that aren’t necessarily serving us as either women or men.
“I hope that in all of that passion, if they see it or engage with it, it can give them some of the relief that it gave other people.”
‘Barbie’ has already proved to be a smash hit at the box office but Greta has not given any consideration to making a sequel to the film.
The ‘Lady Bird’ director explained: “At this moment, it’s all I’ve got.
“I feel like that at the end of every movie, like I’ll never have another idea and everything I’ve ever wanted to do, I did.
“I wouldn’t want to squash anybody else’s dream, but for me, at this moment, I’m at totally zero.”
Gerwig has broken the record for the most successful box office opening weekend for a female director and is “at a loss for words” after seeing the movie capture the imagination across the world.
She said: “It’s been amazing to walk around and see people in pink. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine something like this.”
The director continued: “I think part of the reason I was so fixated on volume levels (in theatres) was because it was a thing I could concentrate on.
“But mostly, it’s been running into people on the street who are excited and happy and exuberant, because so much of this movie was an attempt to create something that people would want to experience together. So, it’s the little things.”

‘I’ve got a mortgage!’ Iain Stirling wants Love Island to carry on for many years to come

OHMYGOSSIP — Iain Stirling wants ‘Love Island’ to continue “for many years”.
The 35-year-old comedian has been the long-running voiceover talent on the ITV2 dating competition since its first series in 2015 and has no desire for it to come to a screeching halt because he’s got his house to pay off.
He said while appearing on ‘Shopping With Keith Lemonn; I’m loving it, it’s really easy. This is the tenth series. I think it might go on for many years.
“I’d like it to go on for 20 years because that’s how long is left on the mortgage! So that would be the dream, really.”
Iain also admitted that he has no interest in channelling his inner BBC dancing demon by ruling out a stint on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
He said: “I’d go on ‘Dancing On Ice’. ‘Strictly? ‘No.”
Iain’s wife Laura Whitmore – who used to present ‘Love Island’ before Maya Jama took the reins this year – recently detailed her horrific ordeal with a stalker.
The 38-year-old star – who has two-year-old daughter Steve with Iain – told BBC Breakfast: “I had a stalking incident years ago and I almost was afraid to talk about it because there’s embarrassment, when I went to the police at that time.
“I was told it was ‘kind of expected with the type of job you have’ and then you’re a bit mortified and you don’t say anything else.~

Dame Esther Rantzen fears cancer was caused by asbestos in BBC buildings

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Esther Rantzen fears her cancer was caused by asbestos in BBC buildings.
The 83-year-old presenter is battling stage 4 lung cancer and she admitted she often wonders if she contracted the disease after breathing in toxic fibres used in building the Lime Grove studios in London, where her show ‘That’s Life’ was based for several years.
She told Yours magazine: “I’m making the most of each day, usually by sitting in my garden… enjoying the fresh air, the birds and the summer flowers.
“And occasionally wondering whether my particular brand of lung cancer was caused by all the asbestos in the BBC building I worked in for decades – or by the air pollution I walked and drove through during my many years as a Londoner. But in my 80s, I knew I had to die of something.”
Esther admitted her cancer diagnosis has made her look back on her life and she’s thankful to have had so many “amazing” people around her.
She added: “This diagnosis has prompted me to look back over the years, and I want to express my profound thanks to everyone who has made my life so joyful, filled with fun, and with inspiration.
“First and foremost my family. My three children Miriam, Rebecca and Joshua have been the most wonderful support, company, and source of love and laughter and I am deeply grateful to them. My friends have been amazing and have created memories which sustain me and give me strength.”
According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, the BBC has reportedly paid out £1.64 million in damages to 11 families of former staff who died of cancer after working in 18 of its asbestos-riddled buildings, including Lime Grove – which was demolished in 1993 – and Television Centre.
The BBC said: “The health and safety of BBC staff and all who use BBC buildings is a primary concern and the BBC manages asbestos in accordance with all regulations and statutory requirements.”

‘I’ve got moves you’ve never seen’: Katie Price drops Strictly Come Dancing hints

OHMYGOSSIP — Katie Price has hinted at taking part in ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 45-year-old reality TV star has said for years that she would love to compete on the BBC dance show, with there even being talks of her signing up in 2020, and she’s just taken to Instagram to urge the programme’s producers to pick her as one of the contestants for the 2023 series.
A picture of the show’s professional dancer Graziano Di Prima and another dancer with Katie’s face Photoshopped onto their face was posted on the Instagram account for the former glamour model’s podcast ‘The Katie Price Show’.
And the caption read: “Strictly 2023… Let’s make it happen…”
In the comments section, Katie said: “I’ve got moves you’ve never seen.”
Three years ago, the ‘Mucky Mansion’ star was said to be in “early talks” with BBC bosses to join the celebrity lineup.
A source told The Sun Online at the time: “It’s really early days but she’s in talks with bosses. She always jokes she’s got two left feet but she would love to do it.”
Katie’s representative said that she was “open to negotiation,” adding: “Katie is absolutely open to ‘Strictly’ talks, showing off her fancy footwork with a sassy Pricey Tango.”
Her former husband Peter Andre, 50, took part in the contest in 2015.
Despite being desperate to take to the ‘Strictly’ dancefloor, Katie previously struggled to get back on her feet after breaking bones in her both her feet during a holiday accident.
The OnlyFans star had several screws put into her feet to keep the bones in place after injuring herself in Turkey in 2020 while “pretending to be a horse”.
Recently appearing on Kathy Burke’s ‘Where There’s A Will, There’s A Wake’ podcast, she revealed: “I was pretending to be a horse. I jumped over the bush, it was dark, I didn’t know there was a 20-foot drop into an underground car park.”

‘We are being pushed out of the industry we love’: Hugh Grant’s Wonka role slammed by actor with dwarfism

OHMYGOSSIP — Hugh Grant’s role in ‘Wonka’ has been criticised by an actor with dwarfism.
George Coppen believes the ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’ star’s role as an Oompa-Loompa should have gone to an actor with the condition because there are relatively few parts available to them.
The 26-year-old actor explained he first started thinking about the issue when he saw James Nesbitt in the role of the dwarf Bofur in ‘The Hobbit’.
He told the BBC: “A lot of actors [with dwarfism] feel like we are being pushed out of the industry we love.
“A lot of people, myself included, argue that dwarfs should be offered everyday roles in dramas and soaps, but we aren’t getting offered those roles.
“One door is being closed but they have forgotten to open the next one.”
The ‘Willow’ actor was shocked when he first saw Hugh in the trailer for ‘Wonka’.
He said: “They’ve enlarged his head so his head looks bigger. [I thought] what the hell have you done to him?”
‘Wonka’ director Paul King previously explained he had cast 62-year-old Hugh as the diminutive worker because he is the “funniest, most sarcastic s***” he’s ever met.
Speaking at the premiere of the trailer in London,, Paul quipped: “So I was really just thinking about that character; somebody who could be a real s***, and then — ah! Hugh!
“Because he’s the funniest, most sarcastic s*** I’ve ever met.”
Timothee Chalamet plays the title role in the film and Paul hailed the ‘Call Me By Your Name’ star as the “most incredible actor of his generation”.
He gushed: “It was a very short list of people who could play Willy Wonka, and really, it was him.
“I really do think he’s the most incredible actor of his generation, because he’s got this incredible ability to dive very deep into his own personal emotions and convey things with the turn of an eye — he’s very, very controlled, very smart and incredibly emotionally intuitive.”
‘Wonka’ is due for release in December.

‘I wanted it all to go away!’ Hollyoaks star Stephanie Waring opens up about shock diagnosis

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephanie Waring “screamed and begged” for help after being diagnosed as perimenopausal.
The 45-year-old actress – who has Mia, 17, and 12-year-old Lexi with former partner Dan Hooper but is now engaged to Tom Brookes- was struggling so much as her body made the transition into menopause that she “couldn’t cope” and believed that death would be the only way to relieve her pain.
She told The Sun: “I was crying all the time. I came home one day and my partner was out and my kids, Mia, who’s 17, and Lexi, who is 12, were with their dad. And I just remember being on the bathroom floor screaming and begging someone to help me. The doctors were saying they couldn’t do anything at that point and I couldn’t cope any more. I didn’t want to harm myself but I just remember thinking maybe not being here would be the only way to make it stop.”
The ‘Hollyoaks’ star went on to add that her symptoms started around the time she had started a new relationship and explained that even though it should have been a “really happy time” for her, she ended up losing sleep over her health for almost a year before seeking medical help.”
She added: “I got the first symptoms around the same time I got into a relationship with my now-fiancé Tom Brookes, who is a security consultant, in December 2020. t should’ve been a really happy time but I was going into the other bedroom at night because I couldn’t sleep. Nearly every night for a whole year I’d be awake until around 3am. Nothing I did helped. I was suffering from brain fog and I was just exhausted all of the time. My vision also started to go and that’s when I thought, ‘Something’s not right here’.”
Stephanie – who has played the role of Cindy Cunningham on ‘Hollyoaks’ on and off since 1998 – was given a number of options including HRT but eventually opted for a Mirena coil, which releases progesterone, and an oestrogen gel, which is applied to the skin, but found that her anxiety went “through the roof” and wondered how her new partner put up with her.
She said: “: “I was explosive. I’d never been like it before but I would see the red mist over the smallest things. I honestly don’t know how Tom put up with me. Now he calls the coil the devil! My anxiety was through the roof, sleep never came and I started to experience this itching sensation all over my skin. It would jump from place to place and it felt like I had bugs crawling all over me. It’s called pruritus and it was the most debilitating thing. I went to see another specialist and once again, I was told to up my oestrogen.”
After having a breakdown on the set of the Channel 4 soap, bosses referred Stephanie to a specialist who discovered exactly what the problem was.“I told her it was my hormones and explained what had been happening.
She explained: “The first assistant director, Jo, took me into a room and asked me what was going on. She then told me about a specialist she knew called Dr Michael Barnish, and together they may have saved my life. After a second consultation I was finally diagnosed with oestrogen dominance.”
“I basically had this soup of oestrogen running around my body that had set off my mast histamine cells.
“So I was giving myself more oestrogen and my progesterone wasn’t having a chance to clear it all — that’s what it does, it clears all your mast cells.
“So me being constantly told to up my dosage was causing the problems. I should’ve been given a very low dose of oestrogen and monitored closely.
“The dosage should only have been increased if I began to experience other menopause symptoms along with the lack of sleep. The higher dosage caused me to have symptoms I would never have experienced otherwise.”
