OHMYGOSSIP — Gorka Marquez used to listen to his fiancee Gemma Atkinson’s radio show.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ pro would tune into the former ‘Hollyoaks’ star, 38, – with who he is now due to wed after welcoming four-year-old daughter Mia and son Thiago, who was born earlier this month – whenever he appeared on the airwaves on Key 103 with Mike Toolan to “get her know her before”.
The 32 -year-old dancer told Alex Legouix on the ‘Show On The Road’ podcast: “My beautiful fiance works on the radio. When I met her for the first time, she used to do the breakfast show and even before we were together I used to listen to the radio every morning.
“I used to go to the gym at six in the morning and put the radio on and just listen to her because it was a way to get to know her more. And I think that’s why we work so well because we became friends before partners, and she’s my best friend.”
Gorka – who was partnered with ‘X Factor’ winner Alexandra Burke, 34, in 2017 whilst Gemma competed alongside Aljaz Skorjanec, 33, but they got together during the show’s tour that year – gushed about Manchester is now “home” after leaving London and his native Bilbao in Spain.
He said: “It was easy to move [to Manchester] because I didn’t have anybody in London. I know how much she loves Manchester. She’s such a Manchester girl.
“She loves where she’s from, and she’s very proud of it. It actually makes me fall more in love with her because she’s proud of where she’s from and she doesn’t deny she’s from Manchester. I think when you find happiness with who you really are you will make everybody around you happy.”
Gorka also gushed about his wee girl and how he wants to be a good “example” to her.
He said: “I want to be an example for my daughter – I don’t want her to think if she doesn’t win, it’s not good. You know? To be able to do what she loves to do should be enough.”

OHMYGOSSIP — James Martin has been battling facial cancer since 2018.
The TV chef, 51, said he first underwent surgery for the disease five years ago before it returned on “several occasions”.
He told The Sun: “I was diagnosed with cancer on my face and I had to have surgery, which I couldn’t do until two days before Christmas when we had finished filming.
“Since then it has returned on several occasions and I have to have regular treatments.”
He revealed his battle after The Sun reported he ranted at his staff online for 10 minutes about a blocked drain.
A whistleblower passed a recording of the sweary tirade after James was accused of bullying his crew following a string of incidents on set.
He was heard swearing 42 times as he yelled at his team, telling them they should be “f****** fried” – before punishing them by ordering them to take their lunch break standing up in the “f****** rain”.
The incident in 2018 has come to light now after a raft of complaints were made about the chef’s conduct while he filmed ‘James Martin’s Spanish Adventure’ this year, prompting an ITV investigation into his conduct.
He said on Wednesday (26.07.23) in response to ITV’s probe he “wholly” regretted losing his temp and insisted “lessons have been learned”.
The Sun said the tape was recorded from a 15-minute Zoom group call and featured James fuming: “I am absolutely furious, beyond belief. It’s my home, it’s my house. It’s my f****** house.
“Nobody listens, nobody f****** listens do they. I will not put up with this, this is b*******.
“A driveway that cost me £26,000 is f***** because somebody put a load of oil in the f****** bin that’s now dripped everywhere and f****** ruined my driveway.
“If this was somebody’s house you would end up with a massive bill. People would get fired and rightly so, if this was working for Endemol your arse would be f****** fried.
“Show me and show my house more f****** respect – if not, you’re gone.
“But if I haven’t got a plumber round at my house to give me a quote and a guy to tarmac by tomorrow, somebody is going to get fired.”
James told The Sun about the rant: “Firstly, I would like to publicly and sincerely apologise to the crew involved in this incident, as I did at the time.
“I have always strived to keep my private life private. However since details of a conversation, which was secretly recorded in January 2018, are now five years later being made public by a former member of our production team, I have decided to make a statement.
“The end of 2017 was one of the most fraught and difficult periods of my life. I was dealing with the death of my last living grandparent, my grandfather, and on account of work commitments I could not attend his funeral.
“Later that month I was burgled at night by a team of masked men, who entered my house while my partner Louise was at home alone and I was away working. I was devastated that she had to go through that alone.
“On top of this I was then diagnosed with cancer on my face… after all this stress I was in a very emotional state, and when after filming in early January 2018 I discovered my home had been flooded while filming, I was extremely upset.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Giovanni Pernice has been forced to sit out some of the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ group dances due to an ankle injury.
The professional dancer had been due to join his co-stars to film the sequences – which are pre-recorded ahead of the live shows – this weekend (29-30.07.23) but Giovanni has now confirmed he will be absent from the routines after hurting himself during a performance with Anton Du Beke on their ‘Him and Me’ tour.
In a post on his Instagram page, the dancer explained: “Hi everyone – just a quick update. As you probably know, I’m on tour at the moment with Anton. During one of the dances, I twisted my ankle on stage – I’ve been to the physio today and he advised me to rest for a few weeks.
“This means I’m not going to be able to dance at the weekend – I know a few people are coming – but I will still be there to entertain all of you with Anton… This also means I’m going to miss a few of the professional ‘Strictly’ group numbers.”
He went on to insist he just needs to rest up so he’s fit in time for the new series.
Giovanni added: “I just need to give some rest to my ankle and come back stronger than ever for the upcoming series of ‘Strictly’, which I’m really looking forward to. Sending lots of love to everyone out there – stay strong.”
Preparations are well underway for the news series of the BBC talent show which is due to kick off in the autumn. The line-up is currently being kept under wraps but it’s rumoured to include footballer Jill Scott, TV presenter Angela Scanlon and couple Emma and Matt Willis.

OHMYGOSSIP — Julia Bradbury has signed up for ‘The Real Full Monty’.
The 53-year-old presenter underwent a single mastectomy in October 2021 after being diagnosed with breast cancer and has spoken openly about her battle with the disease plans to take her desire to raise awareness even further by stripping off for the show after producers felt she’d be a “natural choice” to take part.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s TV Bizarre column: “Julia has been so inspiring, honest and real throughout her journey and so was a natural choice for ITV bosses in casting ‘The Real Full Monty’.
“Julia calls herself a ‘cancer thriver’ and she sees taking part as the embodiment of that — doing something bold and brave.
“She jumped at the chance of being involved as she wants to do everything she can to encourage men and women to check themselves and be more open about their health.
“While other members of the cast are dancers or performers, it won’t come as naturally for Julia — but that’s what will make her involvement all the more inspiring.”
The ‘Countryfile’ host found a lump in July 2021 and was diagnosed with cancer two months later, and she’s previously admitted her health issues have made her look at life differently.
She said: “I’m grateful for every single day and I do look at life differently.
“Obviously when something like a cancer diagnosis comes your way, your whole world becomes about that, how you are going to handle it and the impact on your family, friends and loved ones.”
Fellow breast cancer survivor Victoria Ekanoye – who is best known for playing Angie Appleton in ‘Coronation Street’ – has also signed up for the programme, which raises awareness about the importance of checking for early signs of cancer.
In addition, ‘Dancing on Ice’ skater Vanessa Bauer and the late Princess Diana’s butler Paul Burrell – who was diagnosed with prostate cancer last year – are also taking part.
An insider told The Sun newspaper earlier this month: “Vanessa sadly lost her dear dad to cancer in 2021 so when she was asked to take part in she jumped at the chance.
“It was incredibly emotional for both Vanessa and Paul during filming but they knew by taking part they would help to make a difference and get people checking themselves.
‘Naturally there were lots of laughs along the way — getting your kit off on camera makes people incredibly silly but it was all very good fun.”
Former footballer Ashley Cain is also said to have signed up after losing his baby daughter Azaylia to leukaemia at just eight months old in 2021.

OHMYGOSSIP — Alison Hammond is selling her old clothes in a bid to raise money for the British Liver Trust.
The 48-year-old TV presenter is selling some of her old clothes in memory of her mum Maria, who died from liver cancer in January 2020.
Alison – who has lost weight after embracing a healthier lifestyle in recent years – said on the page: “Alison is donating 100 per cent of her proceeds from the sales of her pre-loved wardrobe to the British Liver Trust in memory of her Mother who died from Liver Cancer (sic)”
Some of Alison’s clothes can now be bought online for as little as £13.
Alison joined Weight Watchers – now known as WW – back in 2019, and she previously admitted that it’s transformed her life, helping her to become the “best version” of herself.
The ‘This Morning’ star revealed that she feels much better after making a conscious effort to embrace a healthy lifestyle.
Speaking about her transformation, Alison shared: “My Weight Watchers journey is focused on getting healthier for myself. I feel rubbish when I don’t eat properly or exercise and Weight Watchers helps me with what I eat and do.
“I know I’ll also lose weight by following the Weight Watchers programme, but that’s not the be-all and end-all for me.
“I want my journey to empower others to think about making changes to their lifestyle to become the best version of themselves.”
Alison is busier than she’s ever been and the TV presenter recognises the need to eat more healthily.
The presenter – who appeared on ‘Big Brother’ back in 2002 – said: “It’s been 17 years since I began working in TV, and I’m busier than ever, especially juggling my duties as a mum.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Plans to host ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ at Buckingham Palace have reportedly been shelved.
King Charles and BBC bosses were said to be keen to stage an episode of the new series at the royal residence, but the idea has been put on the back burner due to the logistical issues involved, according to the Daily Mail newspaper’s Alison Boshoff.
In 2022, ‘Strictly’ bosses concluded that there simply wasn’t enough time to organise the show at Buckingham Palace.
And now, the latest plans have been put on ice following the passing of Queen Elizabeth in September, aged 96, and the coronation of Charles in May.
BBC sources confirmed to the newspaper that the royal-themed episode won’t be going ahead this year. However, insiders at the Palace have insisted that there’s not been any kind of falling out, suggesting that ‘Strictly’ could still be staged at the Palace at some point in the future.

OHMYGOSSIP — Gregg Wallace is “chuffed” with the reaction to his Channel 4 hoax show ‘British Miracle Meat’.
The ‘Masterchef’ star fronted the one-off TV special for the channel which showed him touring a factory to explore claims a new meat alternative had been found to help provide low-cost meals during the cost of living crisis – with Gregg revealing the new steaks had been grown from human flesh.
However, the show was a satire rather than an ‘Inside The Factory’-style documentary and the presenter has now broken his silence on the spoof by sharing a picture of a review which branded it “one of the best TV hoaxes in history” on Instagram and simply writing: “Chuffed”.
The show instantly divided viewers with some aghast at the subject matter with others applauding politically-aware satire while some even compared it to the BBC’s classic 1992 special ‘Ghostwatch’ which fooled viewers into thinking they were witnessing a haunting on live TV.
‘British Miracle Meat’ director Tom Kingsley told the Guardian: “It’s [the show] not just about our society; it’s a satire of TV as well. These [documentary-style TV] shows purport to be telling you something like ‘this is how biscuits are made’, but really you’re being given a very narrow window into the process. We’re not given very much context; anything troublesome is overlooked … TV can provoke and educate and inspire, but it can also just fill your time without delving into anything complicated.”
He went on to add Gregg was thrilled to be a part of the project, saying: “He was really excited to be doing something new … People think: ‘Oh, he’s just this guy who goes around asking people questions about stuff that he probably doesn’t know anything about.’ No, he’s the smartest person in the room. Because he knows all of the answers.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Katie Price can no longer use facial recognition on her phone after her latest round of surgery.
The 45-year-old former glamour model recently jetted to Turkey to get a lip lift and Botox and she ended up having a nose job as well – and she’s now admitted the post-op swelling means she can no longer use her face to access features on her phone and is having to use her pin number instead.
Speaking on her ‘The Katie Price Show’ podcast, she explained: “It looks like I’ve got two black eyes at the moment ‘cos I’ve had my nose done … I took my cast off yesterday and I’ve still got stitches in there … but my nose is so swollen still …
“The funny thing about it is. You know on my phone when you get apps and there’s face recognition, it’s not recognising my face any more.
“I’m having to keep putting the pin in. I thought it goes on your eye balls not your whole face … I’ve got a password but the point is I don’t think my nose looks any different – which means it’s a good nose job – but it doesn’t recognise my face and it’s really p****** me off … ”
Katie went on to explain she ended up having more surgery than she originally planned, adding: “When I went to Turkey, underneath the nose I wanted a lip lift.
“You know when people get their lips done, this is a different way where they cut under your nose and lift your lip. But the scar was horrific, so I had the scar redone and at the same time, I said you might as well give me a nose job because I thought it looked a bit wonky where they ballsed it up.
“But I can’t see any difference with my nose at the minute. But it’s still swollen and I’ve got stitches inside.”
Katie has undergone numerous rounds of cosmetic surgeries over the years including 16 boob jobs, several face lifts and veneers on her teeth.
After having her latest round of procedure, Katie declared she’s looking pretty good for her age. In a post on Instagram, she wrote: “Oh my God I’ve just had my anti-wrinkles done. My new lips done, and I’ve got my new nose. I’m feeling refreshed. Not bad for 45.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Bhasker Patel will miss the “camaraderie” of the ‘Emmerdale’ cast.
The 67-year-old actor has followed up his character Rishi Sharma’s exit with a goodbye video message, admitting he’ll miss his co-stars.
In the video – which has been posted on the ‘Emmerdale’ Twitter account – Bhasker explained: “The thing that I’ll miss the most for Rishi is, you know, being in this village. He came here long ago and they embraced him and he embraced the village as well. And working here in the village, you know, we’re the only soap who has this.”
Bhasker also reflected on Rishi’s connection with the TV audience.
He shared: “I think he’s a bumbling character. He loved his family – he did everything for his family.
“He got into trouble once … Jai made Rachel [Breckle], who was a cleaner, pregnant, and Jai was married to Charity [Dingle], and then he took on the blame saying: ‘That’s my baby!’ Those are the moments that the audience would go: ‘Ah he’s a lovely, caring dad.'”
Bhasker also thanked TV viewers for their support over the last 12 years.
The veteran actor said: “Thank you for watching Rishi’s story and I would like to thank everybody here because it’s been a fantastic 12 years for me. The camaraderie is so great, so thank you and yeah, look after yourself.”
Bhasker has admitted that playing Rishi has changed his life, describing the opportunity as a “God send”.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’, he explained: “For 12 years [on the show] and prior to that I’ve been a jobbing actor since 1980 and then getting a job like this was like a God send.”

The reality stars have announced their break-up just two weeks after being dumped from the ‘Love Island’ villa.
Leah, 27, told The Sun newspaper: “Our time in the villa was absolutely incredible, but we’ve actually decided to just be friends.
“We get on really well and I do really like him, but I feel like for me it’s never enough. I’m obviously looking for someone long-term [who] shares the same values and morals as me.”
Leah admitted that their relationship changed after they left the villa.
The TV star confessed to feeling “sad” about their break-up – even though they both agree that it’s the right thing to do.
Leah – who previously dated former ‘Love Island’ star Danny Williams – said: “I feel like life is a lot different in [the villa] and outside here. A lot more things come up and different situations happen.
“Once we’d spoken about it, we agreed that it’s not how we thought it would be. It’s sad, but at the same time I know we’re both on the same page.”
Leah claimed to have a clear idea about what she wants from a boyfriend before entering the ‘Love Island’ villa.

OHMYGOSSIP — Laura Anderson “is really over” being pregnant because she’s been “so uncomfortable” during her final trimester.
The 34-year-old former ‘Love Island’ star is expecting her first child with her ex-boyfriend Gary Lucy and she’s just weeks away from becoming a mum to a baby girl – but Laura is keen to skip straight to the birth because she’s been experiencing so much discomfort.
In her column for OK! magazine, she wrote: “I’m really over this pregnancy now, I feel huge and I am so uncomfortable – I honestly don’t understand how my belly can keep growing, there’s no more room.
“My daughter isn’t due for another few weeks yet, but honestly, I can’t see me making it to my next midwife appointment at this rate.”
Laura went on to insist she isn’t scared about the birth itself, but she’s worried about all of the huge changes she’s facing.
She added: “I’m more scared about the rest of my life, and all of the other things I’ve got to do …
“From the moment you find out you’re pregnant until your baby is eighteen, and even beyond that, there’s just constant change, and it’s quite a big thing to think about. Having said all of that, I’m really excited to meet my little girl now, and I’m ready for the next bit.”
Laura is single after splitting from her baby’s father – ‘Hollyoaks’ star Gary – following a brief romance, and she’s preparing herself for all the challenges that will come with raising a child alone.
She has been busy preparing for motherhood and recently moved into a new home with more space and previously insisted settling down in a new flat has helped make her feel organised ahead of the birth.
Laura’s baby is due in August.

The 40-year-old TV presenter split from her husband Richie Myler back in 2022, shortly after the couple welcomed their third child together – but Helen is now looking to the future with much more optimism.
A source told OK!: “After her trust was broken, she’s nowhere near ready for an all-in long-term romance.
“But she’s not closing herself off to anything anymore. She’s open to new adventures in all respects and is making it her aim to say ‘yes’ to more things that excite her … [She is] reluctantly dipping her toe back into the dating pool”.
Helen and Richie were married between 2013 and 2022, and the TV star was recently rumoured to have put her marital home up for sale in an effort to move on from their break-up.
The former ‘Blue Peter’ presenter – who has Ernie, seven, Louis, five, and Elsie, 18 months, with Richie – is determined to make a fresh start.
A source told the Mirror newspaper: “Helen has moved on with her life and feels it’s time to start with a clean slate.
“She’s put the house they shared on the market and is looking for a new place she can move to with the kids in the coming months.”
Helen announced her split from Richie via social media.
The TV presenter insisted that they would be “doing [their] best to co-parent” their children.
