Anton Du Beke was hospitalised after being stabbed by drunk dad

OHMYGOSSIP — Anton Du Beke was hospitalised for three days after being stabbed by his drunk father.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge’s father Antal used to call him “gay” because of his ballroom dancing dreams as a teenager and things “came to a head” when the abuse turned violent over a festive period when he was knifed in the stomach and leg.
Speaking to Kate Garraway on Wednesday’s (02.08.23) episode of ‘Life Stories’, he tearfully said: “I’ve never spoken about this before in my entire life. You’ve got an alcoholic father and a situation where, if you’re in the house then there’s the drinking and you end up with the fights and stuff.
“And you’d move room to get away from all of it and he’d follow you in. And then next thing you know the violence starts.
“It came to a head one evening. I ended up in hospital for three days. I got stabbed.
“This is the first time I’ve even mentioned it.
“I’m sure my friends and family don’t even know.”
The 57-year-old star recalled waving down a police car to report his father.
He said: “I remember walking out of the house to walk up to the hospital, holding my leg, and a police car drove past and I waved him down and I said, ‘He’s in there with a knife’.”
Anton’s sister, Veronica Richards, recalled how Antal “took a turn against” her brother because of his love of dance.
She said: “He used to call Anton gay and he took a turn against him.
“My dad’s drinking affected his mood — he was mean, he wasn’t a nice person when he was drunk.
“My dad was drinking his money down the toilet, so what Mum did was work nights in a nursing home. So she wasn’t there to protect us.”
Antal was cleared by police over the incident and eventually divorced Anton’s mother.
The dancer admitted he changed his name from Anthony Beke to distance himself from his dad.
He said: “I wanted a new start and a new beginning and I wanted to leave what went before behind and then move on.
“I just wanted to be me. I started with Anton Du Beke and I went from there really.”
Anton “doesn’t think” about his father anymore and didn’t attend his funeral when he died in 2001.
He said: “I don’t think about him. I never give him a second thought. It does not influence me at all. I hate the thought that anything like that defines you. I hate ‘Woe is me’. My motivation to do what I did wasn’t because of that, it’s because I wanted to do it.
“And there’s only one way to do it, which is to be the best at it.”

Angus Cloud completed three final movies before his death

OHMYGOSSIP — Angus Cloud completed three final movies before he died.
The 25-year-old actor – who was best known for playing drug dealer Fezco on the HBO teen drama ‘Euphoria’ – had completed work on three upcoming movies before he was found dead at his mother’s home in Oakland, California on July 31.
Angus had wrapped on the as-yet-untitled Universal monster thriller movie directed by ‘Scream’ directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, which is due out in April next year.
He had also completed work on ‘Freaky Tales’, the upcoming drama from Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden, which is now in post-production.
Paying tribute to Angus, they said in a statement obtained by the Hollywood Reporter: “We are so shocked and saddened by the awful news. Angus brought such a unique energy and vitality to our set and his work. We will remember him as a bright, patient, vibrant human being and a devoted collaborator who we felt lucky to work alongside. What a devastating loss. We didn’t know him long, but we will miss him dearly. Along with the rest of the world, we are thinking about his family right now, sending them strength and love.”
Angus had also finished filming Dan Brown’s ‘Your Lucky Day’. co-starring Sterling Beaumon, Jessica Garza and Jason O’Mara.
The movie is set on Christmas Eve and features a hostage situation at a small convenience store over a winning lottery ticket worth $156 million.
Angus passed away after he “intensely struggled” with the loss of his father.
His family said in a statement: “It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways. Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend
“Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence. We hope the world remembers him for his humour, laughter and love for everyone. We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss.”

Emma Corrin needed MCU ‘debrief’ ahead of Deadpool 3 role

OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Corrin needed a Marvel Cinematic Universe “debrief” after signing up for ‘Deadpool 3′.
The 27-year-old star will play the villain opposite Ryan Reynolds in the upcoming movie but admitted they knew very little about the comic book world when signing up for the film, and now they have grown to understand how the different movies and characters are linked, they think it is “amazing”.
Emma told Empire magazine: “Hands up, I’m not a Marvel person. I’ve watched Spider-Man and Black Panther. I was like, ‘Look, you’re gonna have to debrief me into this.’
“It’s such an intricate world. There’s so much to it, it’s an absolute mind-f***. All the language and the Easter eggs, and this person is related to that person who did this, and this person came back and this person’s dead… it’s amazing.”
And now ‘The Crown’ star – who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns – feels “really lucky” to be part of the MCU because they understand “why it means as much as it does to so many people.”
They added: “It’s a phenomenon, and I feel really lucky to be part of it. Especially Deadpool, because I love the fact that it’s self-aware, and critical of its own inner-workings.”
Emma feels “really excited” to play the villain in the movie because it is such a different role to anything they’ve previously done.
The ‘My Policeman’ star was approached by director Shawn Levy after seeing them perform on stage but was in the dark about the details of the project.
They said: “I’d heard about the project but, classic Marvel, they couldn’t tell me anything about it. Absolutely nothing. Zilch.
“So I met him being like, ‘I don’t know what this is about.’”

‘I got a telling off!’ Olivia Attwood got drunk on her wedding day

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Attwood got drunk on her wedding day.
The 32-year-old reality star tied the knot with footballer Bradley Dack, 29, earlier this year and documented her special day as part of ITVX’s ‘Olivia Marries Her Match’ but admitted there is a moment where she gets a “telling off” from her husband after hitting the bottle.
She told Metro.co.uk: “Brad basically kind of gave me a telling off for drinking too much. The wedding was all romantic, and like a film but then we had this little moment. We could have taken that out, but I think it’s more relatable to include in our show because that’s the kind of stuff that happens!”
Olivia went on to add that even though it sounds “awful”, she “hated” planning her big day because it is a “never ending job” and had to enlist the help of a professional planner to get through it all.
She said: “It’s really bad and it sounds awful but I hated planning a wedding. If it wasn’t for my wedding planner, Julie Perry, then the day wouldn’t have happened. It’s a lot of budgeting, decisions, guest list oranising and having to sign things off. It is a never ending big job. You have to split yourself into so many pieces. Everyone wants something from you. It’s tough and pretty stressful.
The former ‘Love Island’ star has made a career out of reality TV since her time in the villa with a stint on ‘ The Only Way Is Essex’ and her documentary ‘Olivia Attwood: Getting Filthy Rich’ – which explores the world of selling sex online – and went on to explain that she likes to keep her shows as “real” as possible even when she feels she “doesn’t look right” or is in a bad mood.
She added: “What I always try and stick to is to keep in bits where you feel like you don’t want to film as that’s what makes the show real. If you ask them to stop filming every time you don’t look right, or you’re in a bad mood then you’re going to make a show that’s staged.
“I’m very passionate about reality TV being as real as possible, because as a viewer, that’s what I want. I’ve grafted for seven years to get to this point. I do have the power to say “Can we lose that? I might be watching with my hands covering my face and cringing but I’ll try not to exercise that right too often.”

Steph McGovern: Why I have to say no to Strictly…

OHMYGOSSIP — Steph McGovern won’t do ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ because she doesn’t want to be away from her daughter.
The 41-year-old TV presenter admitted that she would “love” to take part in the BBC Latin and ballroom competition but is concentrating on her Channel 4 lunchtime show ‘Steph’s Packed Lunch’ – which is filmed in Leeds – and hopes that when her three-year-old daughter is old enough for her to be away from, she will be able to sign up for the London-based programme.
She told Prima Magazine: “I’d love to be a contestant on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, but it’s never been the right time to do it. I can’t do it now because I have the show and I don’t want to be away from my daughter, but I’m hoping it will still be going in years to come. I did do ‘The Masked Dancer’ last year. To get to show off my party trick, Irish dancing, on a shiny stage on a Saturday night programme was the best fun ever!”
The Middlesborough-born star – who has chosen to keep both her daughter and partner out of the public eye – went on to add that her “dream” is to keep her chatshow going for as long as she can so she can continue to “highlight social issues” as she carves out a “friendship” with her viewers.
She said: “My dream is to keep doing my show for as long as I can, and to keep highlighting social issues. I don’t think people realise just how bad the hidden poverty is in some parts of the UK. I work with a group of underprivileged girls who don’t even know what shower gel is.
“Loneliness is another big topic. We did a story on friendship and we got so many messages from people saying, ‘I’d love a friend.’ That’s something I feel passionate about because, in a way, doing lunchtime TV, you do become the viewers’ friend.”

Jessica Chastain urges older actresses to take ownership of careers

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessica Chastain believes actress have to become “more active in producing projects” as they get older.
The 46-year-old actress has had a remarkably successful few years, winning an Oscar and being nominated for a Tony and an Emmy, and Jessica believes her current success is due to her taking more ownership of the projects she is involved in.
Speaking to Vanity Fair’s ‘Little Gold Men’ podcast, she said: “To have the most incredible past couple of years—and I have to say, the past couple years, it’s also been more of me producing the projects. That I find interesting. As women get older in the industry, we need to become more active in producing projects in order for us to have a place here—because no one else will do it for us. When you just said that—I’m speaking this for the first time out loud, so I haven’t really thought it through, but The ‘Eyes of Tammy Faye’, ‘George Tammy’, and ‘A Doll’s House’ were all projects that I was involved in behind the scenes and not just acting.
“Women are exploring other ways of creating their own work. But it also makes me a little bit sad that it’s necessary. I’m happy that I’m doing it. I love doing it, but I wish more people were interested in telling these stories and that these actresses wouldn’t have to do that.”
Jessica also explained that she plans to work with more foreign filmmakers as she believes they are interested in women of all ages and not just young starlets.
She said: “This might be controversial to say. In 2011, a lot of directors were very excited about discovering me and shaping me. I’ve had great experiences, like working with Terry Malick. But there’s a sense when you are new to the scene as a woman, you’re very interesting for the male gaze. And as you become less new, you try to figure out how you fit in the industry, because a lot of the male gaze wants what is—they gravitate toward the new actress. I’m working with Michel Franco, who’s an incredible foreign film director; I have another project with him. I probably will seek out a lot more foreign filmmakers because I think they’re interested in women of all ages and of all stories and not interested in a Svengali saying, like, I am the creator of this artist. She’s an artist on her own, and I want to collaborate with her. It takes a very confident filmmaker—and man—to do that.”

This Morning’s Josie Gibson loves being wolf-whistled

OHMYGOSSIP — Josie Gibson loves “wolf-whistling”.
The 38-year-old TV presenter explained that she “hated” the clampdown on men giving women attention on the street amid the proposal to make street harassment illegal in the UK via the Harassment in Public Act because she no longer gets any attention from the opposite sex.
Speaking on tonight’s ‘Shopping With Keith Lemon’ on ITV2, she said: “I hated it when they started banning wolf-whistling. I used to love getting wolf whistled.
“I never get ever chatted up.”
The ‘This Morning’ host – who shot to fame after winning ‘Big Brother’ in 2011 – recently admitted that she is “struggling” with the prospect of her four-year-old son Reggie – who she has with her ex partner Terry – heading off to school for the first time.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I’ll be honest with you, it’s not my favourite thing in the world. Because someone’s taking them off your hands – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. And I’m used to having my Mondays with Reg – we spend Mondays together, we spend Fridays together so, to be fair, I struggled with that a little bit.
“He woke up the other day and he said, ‘Can we go to Mexico today Mummy?’,”
“And we’ve got a little globe we use and he puts a sticker on all the places he’s been.”
“I love taking him to a brand new destination because he goes to school this year – so he goes to school in September. A lot of people think, ‘How would you get him off school’ but a lot of people don’t realise he’s not actually at school yet. I get a lot of Instagram messages going, ‘You keep your son off at school quite a lot’ and it’s not that, he’s not started school yet. So I wanted to take him to as many holiday destinations as I could before he started school because when it’s school time is different isn’t it? So I’ve taken him everywhere.”

Boris Johnson asked to be on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here

OHMYGOSSIP — Boris Johnson was asked to hold “talks” to be a contestant on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here’.
The former Prime Minister, 59, is thought to have considered copying his 82-year-old father Stanley’s 2018 stint in the jungle but according to a source, it’s “not looking likely” anymore. because he “doesn’t need” the money.
A telly insider told The Sun newspaper: “He’s not looking likely. The truth is he doesn’t need the cash as much as he did before, thanks to his income from speeches, and, of course, he still thinks he’s going to stage some sort of political comeback at some stage.”
Boris apparently turned down the invitation to chat with producers of the star-studded ITV1 survivalist reality show – which is fronted by Ant and Dec, both 46, and has featured many huge names from across showbiz – and no intention to “do so”.
A spokesperson for the politician said: “Boris is not doing this programme and is not in talks to do so.”
The former Spectator journalist would be following in the footsteps of his former Cabinet colleagues Nadine Dorries, 66, and former health secretary Matt Hancock, who came third on the show last year.
ed his stint on last year’s ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here’ to beg for “forgiveness” and explained he had made a “big” mistake” after his affair aide Gina Coladangelo was exposed whilst his own social distancing rules were in place.
He told ‘Loose Women’ panellist and fellow campmate Charlene White: “Do you know what it is actually what I’m really looking for is a bit of forgiveness, that’s what I’m really looking for. We all make mistakes. I made a pretty big one.”

Oliver Stone turned down Oppenheimer movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Oliver Stone turned down the chance to make an ‘Oppenheimer’ movie.
The 76-year-old filmmaker admitted he believed it would be impossible to make a movie about J. Robert Oppenheimer, the theoretical physicist and ‘father of the atomic bomb’, in the current climate.
Calling Christopher Nolan’s movie a “classic”, Stone tweeted: “I sat through 3 hours of ‘Oppenheimer,’ gripped by Chris Nolan’s narrative. His screenplay is layered and fascinating. Familiar with the book by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin, I once turned the project down because I couldn’t find my way to its essence. Nolan has found it.
“His direction is mind-boggling and eye-popping as he takes reams of incident and cycles it into an exciting torrent of action inside all the talk. Each actor is a surprise to me, especially Cillian Murphy, whose exaggerated eyes here feel normal playing a genius like Oppenheimer.
“Oppenheimer’ is a classic, which I never believed could be made in this climate.”
Meanwhile, ‘Taxi Driver’ writer Paul Schrader recently called Nolan’s movie “the best, most important film of this century”.
He wrote on Facebook: “The best, most important film of this century. If you see one film in cinemas this year it should be ‘Oppenheimer’. I’m not a Nolan groupie but this one blows the door off the hinges.”
The movie is based on the 2005 book ‘American Prometheus’ by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin and Bird said: “I am, at the moment, stunned and emotionally recovering from having seen it. I think it is going to be a stunning artistic achievement, and I have hopes it will actually stimulate a national, even global conversation about the issues that Oppenheimer was desperate to speak out about — about how to live in the atomic age, how to live with the bomb and about McCarthyism — what it means to be a patriot, and what is the role for a scientist in a society drenched with technology and science, to speak out about public issues.”

Janice Dickinson thought she would ‘never work again after I’m A Celebrity stint

OHMYGOSSIP — Janice Dickinson thought she would “never work again” after falling on ‘I’m A Celebrity All Stars’.
The 68-year-old supermodel took a tumble while competing on ITV1 survival series – which saw fan favourites like Helen Flanagan, 32, Joe Swash,41, Gillian McKeith, 63, and many others reunite from the original ‘I’m A Celebrity…. Get Me Out of Here’ at a campsite in South Africa – and feared her showbiz career was kaput because her surgically-enhanced face “was badly damaged”.
She told The Sun newspaper: “I thought, ‘Geez, I’ll never work again.’ I thought that because I was badly damaged.
“Certainly too damaged to go back on the show. I had blood, bruises up and down my face and there were gaping wounds. It really knocked my confidence.
“I didn’t require stitches, but they had to really clean the wounds really well. It was agony cleaning all the dirt and gravel off of my face, it was horrible.”
Janice – who has son Nathan Fields, 36, and daughter Savannah Dickinson, 29, – praised the channel for never leaving her alone with her injuries “for one minute”.
She said: “For medical reasons, I had weeks and weeks and weeks of the doctors putting red light laser on my face to help shrink the wounds and it worked.
“Look, I don’t have any scars on my face. Not one. ITV didn’t turn their backs on me for one minute.
“The people on ITV that I worked with and that I worked for couldn’t have been nicer. Everyone was kind.
“It took about three months to properly heal. That was tough. But I’m not the type of person that stares at her face like: ‘What does the mirror say about me today?’”
At the time of airing in May, the former ‘America’s Next Top Model’ judge – who first appeared on the Ant and Dec-fronted reality show in Australia in 2007 and finished runner-up behind pantomime legend Christopher Biggins – conceded her not being allowed back to camp was “the right decision”.
She said: “ I could have been the one to be second runner up or even win this series because I was just so steadfast and physiological with it. I was just waiting and biding my time with it all.
“I did my fair share in standing up, falling down. Getting my face in the dirt. I felt like they could have possibly cleaned my wounds and set me back on my path in there. But production made the right decision in the end to not send me back in.”

‘We all have our passions!’ Dara O’Briain reveals secret hobby

OHMYGOSSIP — Dara O’Briain has always been a “big space nerd.”
The 51-year-old comedian – who has a 15-year-old daughter and two sons aged 12 and eight with her – is best known for performing his stand-up routines and hosting shows like ‘Mock the Week’ but revealed that he has a passion for all things intergalactic and keeps seven telescopes at the end of his dining room table.
He told Metro newspaper’s SixtySeconds column: “To be honest, I’ve always been more of a big space nerd: cosmology and black holes and all that stuff. But the Moon is just there and if you get a telescope at all, it is the first thing that you look at. You suddenly see a richness of detail that you’ve never seen before.
“My beginner’s tip to everyone whoever asks about a telescope is to buy a set of binoculars first. You’ll see stars in detail and it’s amazing. Seven feels too many, doesn’t it? But it’s not. It really isn’t! The telescopes are fine- they are kind of cool-looking – but the mounts are just three-legged tripods that sit at the end of the dining table. The tripods are kind of woven around each other. That’s me trying to make them look as small as possible.
“Some would say that they are blocking the view from the kitchen but, look, we all have our passions. It’s not motorbike parts. It’s not bicycle chains and all grease coming off it. It’s not bags of golf clubs with mud on them. I think this is better!”
Dara went on to add that he is in support of NASA’s latest plans to return to the moon in 2024 as he reflected that because he was born just before the last time the mission was successfully completed, he “doesn’t remember” much about it and thinks the expedition will be “worth it” to fuel the imagination of children.
He said: “I think it will be worth it in terms of resources that we will find. I think it will also be worth it in terms of the gift of imagination for kids dreaming of space. I was born in 1972 so you could say I overlapped with the last one but I don’t remember it. I can’t imagine how mind-blowing it must have been in 1969.
“The other thing is that people say about the billions like they had to take £1billion and burn it to set the engine alight. It’s not.
“You are paying scientists’ and engineers’ wages. The money doesn’t go to the Moon. The money very much stays here and goes around and multiplies into the economy.”

‘It was shocking!’ Former Corrie star Catherine Tyldesley was so ill she ‘looked blue’

OHMYGOSSIP — Catherine Tyldesley ended up “looking blue” due to ill health.
The 39-year-old actress – who is best known for having starred as barmaid Eva Price on ‘Coronation Street’ from 2011 until 2018 – cringes when she looks back at pictures of herself because she “was pretty poorly” before she learned about nutrition.
Speaking on ‘The Doctor Will Hear You Now’ podcast, she said: “I was pretty poorly. My skin was shocking, I look back at old photographs now and I would have break out after break out. I looked blue.
“My body wasn’t getting any nutrients. I had dropped a lot of weight.
“My parents booked in with a nutritionist and from that moment I was like, ‘Oh my god, what have I done to myself?”
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star – who has eight-year-old son Alfie and 14-month-daughter Iris with her husband Tom Pitfield, 36 – is a “passionate” advocate for teaching the nation’s kids to eat properly so they don’t follow in her footsteps.
Catherine said: “I’m so passionate about children being educated correctly now, we’d save the NHS a small fortune.”
The ‘Lilies’ actress – who initially shed eight stone after leaving drama school and before starting her career in television – recently showed off her two and half stone weight loss as she explained the difference between how she felt after both of her pregnancies.
Catherine wrote on a selfie posted to Instagram: “She’s back!!!!! This time last year I was 2.5 stones heavier. I’d given birth a few weeks ago and didn’t recognise myself anymore.
“I suffered with hyperemesis and hormonal insomnia throughout my pregnancy. Which meant I averaged around 2 hours sleep a night for 6 months. We tried everything to help me sleep/feel better and nothing worked. I felt Dreadful.”
“Whilst I was pregnant with Alfie I felt great and was weight training till I was 8 months pregnant. I felt strong and recovery was so fast. With Iris I felt so weak and vulnerable.
“Combined with two failed epidurals and needing plenty of rehabilitation for my spine and pelvis- recovery has been much longer this time.”
“It’s been really hard at times but for me – But – having children means I want to give them the best version of me, and I want to live for as long as I can.
“I train and eat well for me AND them. I train so I’m mentally and physically strong for whatever role I play next. I train so I can feel good about myself.
“I train to relieve stress. I train so I sleep better. It’s been worth the slog- and I’m showing up each day to maintain things- mentally and physically.”

Big Brother winner Nadia Almada says trans rights have ‘gone backwards’

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Big Brother’ winner Nadia Almada thinks that trans rights have “gone backwards”.
The 46-year-old reality star – who won the Davina McCall-fronted Channel 4 series in 2004 with 74 percent of the public vote – believes that lots of wins for the transgender community have been rolled back since her telly heyday when she was “embraced” for who she is.
She told Metro.co.uk: The best part of ‘Big Brother’ was the acceptance and embracement.
I didn’t know acceptance, or even tolerance was possible aside from through my closest friends. I had a complete absence of positivity and embracement in my life.
“When I got out of the show it was the complete opposite. I get goosebumps talking about it now because it was real.”
Nadia called being “embraced” by the viewers as “a beautiful thing” as she hadn’t really experienced that on a wide scale beforehand
She said: “I was embraced and that was a beautiful thing. It came from cisgender males, cisgender females, everyone! The whole country was behind me and they adored me.
“On Big Brother, I could finally just be me and it was embraced.”
The former ‘Hollyoaks’ star admitted that she was “marginalised by society” prior to entering the show – which is being rebooted on ITV1 with AJ Odudu as the host and Marcus Bentley returning as the narrator – and had a difficult childhood but used pop culture and comedy as “escapism”.
Nadia said: “I was marginalised by society. I was a survivor of domestic violence and had alcoholic parents. All of those things, and the abandonment issues I got from my childhood, you wouldn’t wish upon anyone.
“All my life I was labelled and put into boxes. I don’t know how I survived. TV and humour were my escapism.”

Michael Barrymore says television doesn’t ’employ innocent people’

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Barrymore says television doesn’t “employ innocent people”.
The former ‘Barrymore’ host – who was once one of the UK’s most prolific and highest-paid television stars – was let go by ITV after being embroiled in the police investigation after the death of Stuart Lubbock aged 31 after attending a pool party at the broadcaster’s Essex home.
The 71-year-old host told the Daily Star newspaper: “It’s strange that companies don’t employ innocent people. Maybe you have to be guilty to get a job in television, I don’t know. From my experience they don’t employ innocent people.
“It’s unfair, of course. It’s terrible. You’re supposed to support people.
“You’re supposed to support the people that work for you. You’re supposed to be caring.
Michael admitted that it has “taken” him more than two decades to “build up” his confidence since he left television.
He said: “The amount of confidence you need to work the way I did at my peak was phenomenal and that took years to build up. When everything went my confidence was completely smashed. It has taken me 22 years to get that back.”
The former Celebrity Big Brother’ star has also claimed that he hasn’t “heard a word” from his former colleagues because they don’t want to deal with the legal trouble he found himself in.
Michael said: “I haven’t been asked to do any shows. I haven’t heard a word from anyone.
“Nobody has been in touch because they don’t want to deal with all the c***
“But why would I want to go back to a place like that?
“Why would I want to go back to a place where you get treated like that?
Michael also speculated that a guest spot of his on ITV1 sitcom ‘Benidorm’ was axed by telly bosses.
He said: “I think the people upstairs didn’t want it.”

‘It’s not like being a doctor!’ Julian Clary has no plans to retire

OHMYGOSSIP — Julian Clary has no plans to retire.
The 64-year-old comedian has been on TV screens since the 1980s and remains one of the busiest names in showbusiness today with annual appearances at the London Palladium for their pantomime and will Herod in a production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ across the UK later this year as he vowed to “keep going” as long as audiences want to see him.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘This Morning’, he said: “It’s all nonsense, that’s the thing. It’s not like being a doctor having to go and teach people. It’s just camp comedy. I don’t think I will retire. As long as people want to come and see me, I will keep going.”
The former ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ star – who will feature on ‘Taskmaster’ later this year and will go on tour in 2024 – explained that he feels “suited” to pantomime and revealed that he has taken on his mother’s mantra of always saying “yes” to opportunities in life.
He added: “It’s very thrilling and [the London Palladium] isone of those places where that never fades away. Something magical happens and it kind of lifts you. Panto suits me because I can kind of be myself and you can mess around and talk to the audience. The plot is important but it is a lot of nonsense along the way. My mother taught me to ‘Just say yes’, it’s a good philosophy of life. If I’m ever offered something, I phone my mother and she says ‘Just say yes!’ No, [I’ve never regretted] it, you rarely do. But it’s not just about shows. You don’t often regret saying yes.”

Jacqueline Jossa: ‘Put EastEnders on Netflix!’

OHMYGOSSIP — Jacqueline Jossa thinks soap operas should be put on Netflix.
The 30-year-old actress played Lauren Branning in the BBC soap opera ‘EastEnders’ from 2010 to 2018 before making a guest return earlier this year but believes that because viewing habits have changed so much since the show – which currently airs in half-hour instalments from Monday to Thursday – first hit screens in 1985, the genre should follow a more on-demand format and streamed on a worldwide service like Netflix.
Speaking on the ‘Soap From The Box’ podcast, she said: We watch and consume things totally differently now. If soaps were to move on to something like Netflix, then you would watch it every single night and you would get millions and millions and millions of viewers. How often do we scroll through Netflix and moan, ‘Oh, there’s nothing to watch’? We could have just watched half an hour of ‘EastEnders’ and half an hour of ‘Corrie’. If it’s easy and it’s there you would just stick it on and get into the storyline.”
The former ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’ winner went on to add that seeing the famous Queen Vic pub for the first time was the “best day” of her life and admitted that she loved her on-screen family before landing the job and found it “crazy” to end up working with Lacey Turner (Stacey Slater) after watching her on screen for so many years.
She added: “It was the best day of my life when I went and saw The Vic for the first time.
“Jake Wood took me around. I was buzzing to meet him, I loved the Brannings, I loved Bradley. I was Lacey Turner’s biggest fan. I still am, I bloody love her. ‘EastEnders’ would have been my ideal job and I thought in my head ‘That is the job for me!’ because I am East End through and through, I didn’t have to change my voice. I thought Lacey was so good and natural and then I was working with her! I had huge parts in all of the ‘Who Killed Archie?’ storyline. It was crazy!”
