Lisa Armstrong splits from boyfriend?

OHMYGOSSIP — Lisa Armstrong has split from her boyfriend.
The 46-year-old make-up artist – and ex-wife of TV presenter Ant McPartlin – has reportedly parted ways with her electrician partner James Green, 40, after three years together.
A source told MailOnline: “I don’t really know what has gone wrong. The two of them were only on a swanky holiday together in the Caribbean or somewhere about eight weeks ago.
“He was with her one day, and he just wasn’t with her the next day. There was no inkling that anything was wrong.”
Lisa and James started dating in 2020, some months after her divorce from Ant was finalised.
Former popstar Lisa met Ant on a Smash Hits tour in Newcastle in 1994 . They dated for 10 years before getting engaged in 2005 and tying the knot in 2006.
Ant previously spoke about their difficulties trying to conceive, telling Radio Times: “Lisa and I would love to have kids. We’re trying. It’s tougher than you think when you get a bit older.”
He added to Fabulous Magazine: “I think I’m lucky. Lisa works in the industry and understands it. She’s constantly working – sometimes more than me!
“We would love to have a family so fingers crossed. If we’re blessed with children, then we’d be over the moon!”
Ant was admitted to rehab for alcohol and prescription drug addiction in 2017 and they split in January 2018, before their divorce was finalised later that year.

However, it was not love at first sight.
Speaking about their first meeting, Katie told The Sun: “I actually didn’t like him very much.
“We just knew each other as our kids were friends.
“I’m very shy and quiet, while Nick is quite extroverted and a complete chatterbox. He didn’t give me a lot of opportunity to talk. I didn’t know a lot about him.
“But when we were both single we went for coffee and he let me talk, eventually, and we had a lot in common. We both love cooking and have an interest in history.
“During lockdown we spent a lot of time chatting over the phone, which meant we could really get to know each other.
“The more we went out the more I realised what a nice guy he is as he’s constantly bombarded by fans and always has time for a picture.”

Krishnan Guru-Murthy named as fourth Strictly contestant

OHMYGOSSIP — Krishnan Guru-Murthy is the fourth celebrity confirmed for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 53-year-old journalist and broadcaster – who is best known as the main anchor of Channel 4 News, as well as reporting for the foreign affairs series ‘Unreported World’ – admitted he is “surprised, delighted and slightly confused” about being asked to compete in the BBC dance show.
He said: “I’m surprised, delighted and slightly confused to find myself taking part in Strictly on the basis of ‘you only live once!’ and I can’t wait to start learning to dance, but I am slightly worried about my general decrepitude. I know I’m going to love it and have a brilliant time and just hope I’m not the only one enjoying my participation.”
News of Krishnan’s participation in the upcoming series was revealed on Saturday (05.08.23) on Claudia Winkleman’s show on BBC Radio 2.
He joins previously announced contestants Layton Williams, Angela Rippon and Amanda Abbington on the show.
Layton said: “Absolutely buzzing to confirm that I will be taking part in THE most iconic dance competition in the UK! It’s time to bring it to the Ballroom. So excited to learn new skills from the best. Bring on the sequins… ALL the sequins!”
Angela commented: “Having been a fan of ‘Strictly’ since day one, and as a former presenter of Come Dancing, this will be quite an adventure for me. A scary one, considering I’m about to be 79. But I’m really looking forward to the challenge, and perhaps being able to learn to dance the Argentinian Tango!!”
And Amanda said: “I’m thrilled to have been asked to do ‘Strictly’. I’m actually really shy and self-conscious so this will be a great opportunity for me to overcome those things! Plus, I get to learn to dance which I am incredibly excited about. I’m really looking forward to the training too, I’m quite competitive as my family and friends will tell you. I can’t wait to start!”

Angela Rippon doesn’t think she’ll win Strictly

OHMYGOSSIP — Angela Rippon has no expectations about winning ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 78-year-old broadcaster will be the oldest contestant ever on the BBC One show when she competes on the upcoming series.
Speaking on ‘The One Show’, Angela said: “‘I have to admit, the first words out of my mouth when I was asked were: ‘Well why didn’t they ask me 10 years ago when I was a little bit younger!’ Why? well, I love dance. I presented ‘Come Dancing’.
“The serious reason behind doing it is because I’ve been advocating, ever since I did a series called ‘How to Stay Young’, where we demonstrated as part of the programme that dance is the complete full body and mind exercise for everybody regardless of your age but particularly for people as they get older.
“Now as I’m 78, I’ll be 79 when we’re actually doing the programme, it would be lovely to demonstrate.
“I know I’m not going to lift that Glitterball, I’m being honest with myself, it would be wonderful if I could last long enough, a few weeks, and demonstrate that even at my age that it genuinely is possible for people who are older to be able to dance.”
And, Angela is excited about the challenge of learning new dances.
She said: “Having been a fan of ‘Strictly’ since day one, and as a former presenter of ‘Come Dancing’, this will be quite an adventure for me. A scary one, considering I’m about to be 79. But I’m really looking forward to the challenge, and perhaps being able to learn to dance the Argentinian Tango!!”

‘People thought I was thick’: Steph McGovern’s early TV struggles

OHMYGOSSIP — Steph McGovern felt dismissed as “thick” when she began her TV career.
The ‘Steph’s Packed Lunch’ host – who worked as an engineer before becoming a business journalist and producer for the BBC – admitted she was written off because she is a woman and because of her North East accent, but it only made her determined to prove people wrong.
She told Prima magazine: “People have underestimated me in the past, particularly when I was a business journalist interviewing CEOs. They would automatically assume I was there to make the tea or that I’d be thick.
“But it made me think, ‘I’m going to show you!’
“I’d say to anyone now who’s lacking confidence or might be worried their background will hold them back, ‘Actually, it’s your superpower’.”
The 41-year-old star insisted her work colleagues weren’t “mean” to her but she knew her working-class background gave her a different outlook on life which they couldn’t relate to.
However, Steph came to realise that was a big advantage and she encourages others in her position not to feel they need to change themselves.
She added: “At first, I felt like I really stood out at the BBC. Nobody was mean to me, but I felt I was unusual because of my background.
“I’d suggest stories – such as the fact that people in poorer areas had to hire TVs – and I’d know people were secretly thinking, ‘That doesn’t happen’.
“But it was an epiphany for me, I realised I could bring something new to the table. I refused to let being different put me off.
“I was never going to change my voice, yet I felt like I suddenly had to be someone else.
“Then my editor said, ‘No, just be yourself.’ Now I say to people, ‘Don’t change who you are.’ ”

Lucy Fallon set to return to Coronation Street

OHMYGOSSIP — Lucy Fallon is returning to ‘Coronation Street’.
The 27-year-old actress – who gave birth to her and boyfriend Ryan Ledson’s first child, son Sonny, in January – quit the cobbles three years ago after five years playing Bethany Platt, but she’s set to return to Weatherfield in the coming months, with her first scenes due to air “after Christmas”.
A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “Lucy is one of soap’s most talented actresses who won lots of awards for her powerful portrayal of Bethany’s grooming storyline.
“She was destined for big things and everyone was sad to see her go but the door was always going to be left open for someone of her calibre and popularity.
“Bosses reached out to her a few weeks ago about the possibility of coming back, and told her everything they’d planned for Bethany if she agreed.
“She discussed it with her boyfriend, and family, because she’s a mum now with a baby.
“Once they’d talked about childcare, and how best to juggle it all, she was able to say she’d love to return.
“Everyone is very excited.
“They were really keen to get her back.”
The blonde beauty previously admitted there was always a possibility she would return to the show one day, after Bethany left Weatherfield to take up an internship at a magazine.
She said in 2021: “Never say never.
“I didn’t leave for a particular reason or because I didn’t like it.
“I left because I wanted to go down different avenues.”
Lucy recently admitted she and her footballer partner “can’t remember” life before their son was born.
She told OK! magazine: “It feels so long ago now. We can’t really remember life before Sonny – it feels like a blur.”

Shock as Harry Styles’ Marvel future is in doubt following Eternals cameo

OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Styles future with the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is in doubt.
The 29-year-old megastar made a cameo appearance at the end of the 2021 movie ‘Eternals’ as Eros/Starfox and was set to pocket up to $10 million for reprising the role in a spin-off titled ‘Eros and Pip’, but the project has reportedly been shelved amid Disney’s plans to scale back the various offshoots of the franchise.
A source told the Sunday Mirror newspaper’s No Filter column: “Marvel bosses were openly talking about Harry in a lead role but that talk has cooled.
“The whole business and Marvel franchise is being rethought. The focus is on creating the biggest projects with the biggest revenues.
“Harry’s character is a fun and beloved role but it is not realistically the number one choice to get the Marvel franchise bouncing back”.
The update comes a few months after Marvel Studios producer Nate Moore teased Harry had a strong future with the franchise because of Eros’ “fascinating” character and “really interesting” connection to the villainous Thanos.
During an interview on the Deadline Crew Call podcast, he said: “We certainly didn’t cast Harry for a tag. I mean, again – And a character (that) maybe I have too much affection for, ’cause he’s had some problematic runs in publishing. But there are more stories to be told with the character.
“He has a really interesting connection with Thanos; they’re half-brothers and share the same father. He has an interesting power set.
“He’s a complicated character, but a really fun character. And I think… having met Harry Styles, he is as charming as you want him to be. And I think there’s no limit to how good that character’s going to be once we get to bring him back.”
‘Eternals’ director Chloe Zhao revealed that she was the driving force behind the decision to give the ‘As It Was’ hitmaker a role in the MCU.
She said: “Long story short, with that depressing ending, at some point he was going to be one of the Eternals on that ship.
“And that didn’t quite work out.
“But I had been wanting to bring Eros into the MCU.
“So I kept mentioning [casting Harry Styles] to Kevin [Feige] at every chance I had in the hallway, because I love the idea of Eros being another Eternal, another Ajak.”

Dakota Fanning became a competitive swimmer for Man on Fire

OHMYGOSSIP — Dakota Fanning became a competitive swimmer for her role in 2004’s action-thriller ‘Man On Fire’.
The 29-year-old actress was just nine when she played young Pita, who Denzel Washington’s former CIA officer character Creasy was hired to protect amid a series of kidnappings, and as a result of all the swimming, she’s now a superfast swimmer.
Speaking to Total Film magazine, she said: “Well, when I did ‘Man on Fire’, there was so much swimming involved. And Tony Scott wanted me to actually win the races, so I had to become a competitive swimmer. So I’m an amazing swimmer [laughs]. That’s something that has stuck with me.”
Dakota and Denzel, 68, reunited for the upcoming American vigilante action film directed by Antoine Fuqua, ‘The Equalizer 3’, a sequel to 2018’s ‘The Equalizer 2’, which is loosely based on the TV series of the same name, and she loved getting to “fall back into the dynamic” they had almost two decades ago.
She said: “For me, it was particularly special because I was working with Denzel again, 20 years later, and Man on Fire is a movie that people, to this day, come up to me about maybe the most. And I don’t think I’ve ever met someone who doesn’t love Denzel Washington.
Obviously we’re playing different characters, but to kind of fall back into the dynamic that we had in that movie when I was so young, and then now being an adult, and to kind of get to feel that again with him… it was really kind of this full-circle thing.”
Denzel reprises his role as retired US Marine and former DIA officer, Robert McCall.

Cait Fitton achieves childhood dream with Coronation Street role

OHMYGOSSIP — Cait Fitton has wanted to be in ‘Coronation Street’ since she was five years old.
The 21-year-old actress landed the role of troubled Lauren Bolton – the daughter of extremist thug Reece Bolton – last year and she admitted it is a dream come true for her to be walking on the cobbles after so many years being obsessed with the ITV soap.
She recalled to The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “The teacher asked us, ‘What do you want to be when you’re older?’
“Children were saying ‘a fireman’ or ‘a nurse’, and I said, ‘I want to be in Coronation Street’.
“I remember all the teachers were amused, they couldn’t believe it.
“I watched it religiously.
“I loved Gail and Becky and Kylie and I’d think, ‘This is my dream’.
“I spent so long dreaming about it and wanted it so badly.
“Sometimes I’d despair and think it was never going to happen, but it just shows that if you fight and you work hard for your dreams, you can achieve.”
Cait – who went on the ‘Coronation Street’ set tour three times and was “obsessed” with the section of Madame Tussauds in Blackpool dedicated to the soap – was an extra twice on the show as a child, and in 2020, tried out for the role of Summer Spellman when Matilda Freeman left, but Harriet Bibby ultimately beat her to the recast past.
And the actress is pleased she has been cast as Lauren, rather than playing Summer.
She said: “When the call came through it was a whirlwind of emotion. I was crying, laughing and screaming.
“As an actor you get a gut feeling about what is you and what isn’t. I wasn’t Summer.
“Then when Lauren came through I remember thinking, ‘This is somebody I could certainly play’.
“Her vulnerability was something I wanted to explore. Lauren is feisty, whereas Summer is very innocent.”
And after securing a role on her favourite show, Cait is in no rush to leave Weatherfield.
She said: “I’ll stay at Corrie for as long as they’ll have me.
“I’m so happy. I’ve achieved something I never thought I would at 21.
“It’s mad, I can’t believe it.”

Rebel Wilson needed stitches after ‘stunt accident’

OHMYGOSSIP — Rebel Wilson needed stitches after a “stunt accident” on the set of ‘Bride Hard’.
The 43-year-old actress was left with facial injuries following a mishap while shooting the action comedy – in which she plays “badass secret agent” Sam, who is tasked with “one of her hardest missions yet”, being Maid of Honour for her childhood best friend – in Savannah, Georgia, last week.
She shared a photo of her battered and bruise face on her Instagram Story on Thursday (03.08.23) and wrote: “NOT the way I wanted to end this movie!. 3 stitches and in hospital last night after a stunt accident at 4am.(sic)”
‘Bride Hard’ has been granted an Interim Agreement to continue filming during the SAG-AFTRA strike because it is an independent production.
The actors’ organisation – which is striking due to issues including the rise of AI and streaming revenue – explained in a message to members last month: “The Interim Agreement gives many of our journeyman performers and crews the opportunity to pay their rent and feed their families. This approach maintains our strength, solidarity and upper hand with the AMPTP until they yield to the deal we deserve.
“The Interim Agreement is not a waiver. To be clear, it is a contract that includes all terms and conditions for producers looking to employ our members on their specific independent productions.
“This Interim Agreement was created for several reasons, all of which are aimed at protecting the interests of our members, helping them successfully navigate the strike and demonstrating to the AMPTP that other producers are eager to work with our members under these terms.”
Other actors who have been able to continue to work amid the strikes after their projects secured Interim Agreements include Anne Hathaway, Dakota Fanning, Glenn Close, Ben Foster, and Graham Greene.

Eddie – who has performed in front of big crowds all over the world – said: “Wow. Anyone who knows me, understands that music and dance is so important and central to who I am. I’m so unbelievably proud and honoured that ‘Strictly’ and the BBC have asked me to join the 2023 team.”
The comedian is now determined to make the most of his ‘Strictly’ opportunity.
He said: “I promise you, I’m going to give it everything I’ve got. This is going to be a vibe.”
Eddie joins Amanda Abbington, Angela Rippon, Layton Williams and Krishnan Guru-Murthy in the line-up for the new series.
Krishnan, 53, recently admitted to being “surprised, delighted and slightly confused” about being asked to compete on the BBC dance show.
The broadcaster – who is best known as the anchor of Channel 4 News – said: “I’m surprised, delighted and slightly confused to find myself taking part in ‘Strictly’ on the basis of ‘you only live once!’ and I can’t wait to start learning to dance, but I am slightly worried about my general decrepitude.
“I know I’m going to love it and have a brilliant time and just hope I’m not the only one enjoying my participation.”
Prior to that, Angela admitted that she was looking forward to competing on ‘Strictly’.
The 78-year-old newsreader said: “Having been a fan of ‘Strictly’ since day one, and as a former presenter of ‘Come Dancing’, this will be quite an adventure for me. Belle Hassan got her Victoria’s Secret lingerie taken off her before entering Love Island

OHMYGOSSIP — Belle Hassan got her Victoria’s Secret lingerie taken off her before she went on ‘Love Island’.
The 25-year-old influencer – who was coupled up with Anton Danyluk, 27, during the 2019 edition of the ITV2 dating competition – has warned any future contestants about bringing “branded” clothing into the villa because you might not get it back.
She told the Daily Star newspaper: “I remember when they go through your stuff they ask you if you’ve got anything branded and they took my Victoria Secret pyjama shorts off me because they had Victoria Secret written around the band.
“They were so nice, they were so sexy, I was like, ‘This is for me’ and then year they were like, ‘You can’t wear those in there because they’re branded.’
Belle gushed about the “sisterhood” she formed with her fellow gals in the villa like Maura Higgins, 32, Amber Gill, 25, Anna Vakili, 33, Molly-Mae Hague, 24, and Joanna Chimonides, 26, and they shared “anything you can think of”.
She said: “When I was in the villa, we definitely shared clothes I mean, there’s a lot of clothes that I definitely never got back and some clothes that were borrowed to me that I’ve probably still got in the wardrobe that I’ve yet to give back to the girls.
“But yeah, we shared shoes, we shared makeup and as you can imagine everyone was in and out of my bloody Bobbi Brown face, everyone was always on that.
“We shared makeup, shoes, clothes, dresses, hair products.
“Everything you can think of we all shared, we were like a sisterhood in there.”
Belle recently confessed she was “not surprised” that Tommy Fury, 24, got down on one knee to his long-time girlfriend Molly-Mae and mother of his six-month-old daughter Bambi.
She told OK! magazine: “‘I’m not surprised they are engaged, to be honest.
“Tommy loves her so much and it was so beautiful to see when I was on the show, so I kind of expected it for them. They’re like childhood sweethearts, it’s the dream; they’ve got the nice house, the baby, the cats, the wedding. It is lovely to see after watching their romance”.

Big Brother’s Nadia Almada doesn’t want the ITV2 reboot to be like ‘soulless’ Love Island

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Big Brother’ winner Nadia Almada doesn’t want the show to be like “soulless” ‘Love Island’.
The 46-year-old hairdresser – who snagged victory on the fifth series of the original Channel 4 run in 2004 with 74 per cent of the vote – is “super-excited” for the ITV2 reboot of the iconic reality show but urges the producers to “listen to the fans” and make it like the Davina McCall-fronted edition with “real people” and not glossy wannabe influencers like on the dating competition.
She told the Daily Star newspaper: “I’m super-excited for Big Brother. They will have to listen to the fans. They want the humour, the real people.
“But I think they are really trying to keep the essence of the show, the social experiment, people from all walks of life connecting.
“We need to step away from influencers and models and go back to people like me, Brian Dowling, Pete Bennett, Jade Goody – people that created the foundations for this amazing show.
“We created reality TV – the whole genre was based on that show. ‘Love Island; is very generic. I find it’s not real. There’s no soul to it. I’m sick and tired of forced love relationships.”
Nadia – who was the first openly transgender woman to compete – admitted she was grateful they were considering “bringing back familiar faces” but was unsure if she wanted to be involved.
She said: “I appreciate the fact they are considering us, bringing back some familiar faces.
“It’s very honourable and almost like an appreciation for what we created and delivered for that show.
“I’m not sure I’d go back as a contestant but in a guest spot or something like that.
“Or it would be quite nice to have a commentator position, looking at highlights of the night or week.”
She labelled the new crop of contestants are “having it easy” compared to her heyday.
Nadia said: “We did 12 weeks. They’re having it easy and will probably have all mod cons – we didn’t even have a washing machine or dishwasher.”

I’m A Celeb legend Myleene Klass: I’m still just mum!

OHMYGOSSIP — Myleene Klass is “still just mum” to her kids despite being crowned the first jungle legend on ‘I’m a Celebrity… South Africa’.
The 45-year-old singer – who has daughters, Ava and Hero with ex-husband Graham Quinn as well as Apollo with partner Simon Motson – fought off competition from other former campmates like Diversity’s Jordan Banjo, former ‘Countdown’ star Carol Vorderman and tennis player Fatima Whitbread to win the survival show’s spin-off series earlier this year and was crowned the first ever Jungle Legend but admitted that she is not quite “recognised” for her title at home.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’, she told stand-in host Christine Lampard: “I’d like to say that they recognise me as the Legend in the house but I am still just mum who knows where all the socks are and delivers the laundry just like the fairies!”
Meanwhile, the former Hear’Say singer – who first appeared on ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here’ in 2006 alongside Busted’s Matt Willis and former ‘Neighbours’ star Jason Donovan – was speaking out against the “taboo” of miscarriage as she works alongside research group Tommy’s to raise awareness of women who lose a baby after suffering four herself.
She said: “Miscarriage is a taboo. It’s the final taboo in women’s healthcare. For centuries, we’ve been taught to keep it quiet because nobody wants to talk about that subject. As women, we’re expected just to make everyone else feel better. But the language around miscarriage is all just negative and women’s healthcare has failed miscarriage.
“Everything is just shrouded in shame and it affects the entire family. There are children who were expecting a brother or a sister and a partner who feels helpless.
You might think your partner is really healthy, so you might think it’s you. It could be that your partner is riding his bike too much or driving a lorry or drinking too much alcohol… There are also paternal factors involved and that’s why it’s so important that we use all the information that is available to us. I would love to see data collection.”

Corrie’s Cath Tyldesley speaks out after being ‘exposed’ as mystery celeb demanding 100 free cakes

OHMYGOSSIP — Catherine Tyldesley had “no idea” about the emails sent to a bakery about her supposed request for more than 100 free cakes.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ actress, 39, – who is married to Tom Pitfield and has Alfie, seven, and Iris, 16 months, with him – had been reported as being the mystery star at the heart of a case in which Three Little Birds bakery owner Rebecca Severs had received messages from party planners asking for a huge order for a celebrity’s 40th birthday party in Manchester in exchange for publicity with OK! Magazine.
Catherine will celebrate her milestone birthday on 17 September and the email claimed that the mystery celebrity is throwing the party on September 1 – which is actually Tom’s birthday – so she needed an extra cake for her husband as well as 100 small ones but the former ‘Scarborough’ actress took to social media soon after the email went viral to deny having any knowledge of the order whatsoever.
Speaking in a video posted to Instagram on Wednesday (02.08.23), she said: “Cake gate?! What? So, I had no idea those emails were being sent. I’m not working with the lovely OK! Magazine on anything that I am aware of. NVRLND are an amazing company, they’ve supplied with me performers in the past. ”
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ contestant went on to claim that the party planners had been “completely misrepresented” in the furor and signed off by telling Rebecca that she “hoped” she got some publicity for her business as she sarcastically thanked her for causing the press to arrive at her house.
She added: “They’re insane and they’ve been completely misrepresented in this matter. Utterly bizarre, I don’t really know what to say. I mean, I hope the cake lady got the exposure she was craving, whilst I’ve got journalists knocking on my front door whilst my kids are playing in the front room. Dead nice, that, babes, thanks for coming!”
In her initial response email – which has been shared thousands of times on Facebook – Rebecca joked that she was “sorry” to hear that the celebrity client “had fallen on hard times” but claimed that she could not pay her mortgage with social media promotion.
She wrote: “I’m so sorry to hear that your client has fallen on such hard times they can’t afford to pay small businesses their products. Unfortunately as my mortgage provider doesn’t take payment “in the form of promotion on their socials, and my staff can’t feed their kids with exposure on Instagram, I’ll have to decline your very generous offer.”
The West Yorkshire-based business owner went on to further speak out about the incident, where she claimed she wanted to “highlight the issues” of a fair wage for small business workers amid the cost-of-living crisis.
Speaking on Rombalds Radio, she said: ‘It’s really important to highlight the issue of small businesses, especially in female-dominant industries, not earning a fair wage for their time and skill, especially in the cost-of-living crisis we are experiencing.
“We are proud of our team who are all highly skilled at cake baking and decorating, and proud to have built a successful business based on correct pricing which means our staff are paid a decent wage and have job stability.
“We wish the same for NVRLND and offer them and their clients our best regards for the future.”
