Ollie Locke and husband Gareth reveal twins’ names

OHMYGOSSIP — Ollie Locke and his husband Gareth have named their twins Apollo Magnus Obi and Cosima Emily Bex.
The former ‘Made In Chelsea’ star and his spouse announced via Instagram on Sunday (20.08.23) that their surrogate had given birth to their son and daughter six weeks ago but the twins had spent “a long time” in the neonatal intensive care unit.
Speaking about the special meanings behind the names, Gareth told HELLO!: “I always wanted to have a son and call him Apollo. My dad’s nickname for my mum [Margaret]is Maggie, so Magnus is the male version.”
Ollie added: “Cosima’s name means chaos and beauty and she’s already living up to that.
Cosima’s middle names are tributes to Ollie’s close friend Emily Hartridge, a YouTuber who passed away in 2019, and their surrogate, Bex Ward.
Gareth said: “We hadn’t told Bex we were naming the baby after her, so Ollie took her to the registry office after they were born and surprised her.”
The twins arrived seven weeks early, at 31 weeks.
Ollie said: “Our little monkeys decided to be really strong. They wanted to come out early because they felt they were ready, and they were absolutely amazing. They needed a bit of help, but not as much as a lot of premature babies.”
And, Ollie, 36, and Gareth intend to keep fans updated on their new lives as parents through their YouTube series ‘Our Daddy Diaries’.
Ollie said: “People see our lives through the beautiful gloss of ‘[Made in] Chelsea’, with the lovely music behind. This is stuff like us getting up in the middle of the night or pulling our hair out because the nappies haven’t arrived. It’s our lives, but very raw.”

Chris Evans diagnosed with skin cancer

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Evans has been diagnosed with skin cancer.
The 57-year-old radio presenter revealed his diagnosis on his Virgin Radio show on Monday (21.08.23) and reassured listeners it was caught early and is treatable.
Chris said: “We need to discuss what’s going on with this issue.
“It is a melanoma. There’s this phrase called a malignant melanoma – you know once you get something, and you find out all about it – that is a redundant phrase because if it is a melanoma it is malignant.
“But it’s been caught so early, just so you know, that it should be completely treatable.
“[Treatment] will happen on the 14th of September.”
Chris – who ran the London marathon earlier this year – explained that he will be unable to exercise for a month after undergoing treatment.
He quipped: “I can’t run for a month afterwards so I’m going to do nothing but run until then. Is that ok?”
Chris previously revealed he had a skin cancer scare in 2019, but was reassured he had “nothing to worry about” and advised to be examined once a year.
He previously said: “I went and had a few marks on my body inspected by a skin expert before Christmas and she said, ‘You need to come and see me again, just because of your complexion’.”
He also had a prostate cancer scare in 2015.
Chris told his radio listeners at the time: “Thank you once again to Kenney Jones, of The Who who was diagnosed with prostate cancer a couple of years ago and since recovery has been a fundraiser and supporter of Prostate Cancer UK.
“Prostate cancer, and colon cancer of course, are one of the most survivable forms of cancer there is, if caught early enough. It not, one of the least. It’s a fine line between life and death, happiness and tragedy.”
Chris has three sons and one daughter with his wife Natasha, 38.
He also has a daughter Jade, 34, with his former fiancée Alison Ward.

‘I think it happened very quickly’: Jason Donovan surprised by Neighbours’ swift return

OHMYGOSSIP — Jason Donovan was “surprised” by ‘Neighbours’ return.
The 55-year-old performer – who played Scott Robinson in the soap for over 400 episodes between 1986 and 1989 – reprised his role alongside Kylie Minogue as Charlene for the show’s final episode on Channel 5 last year, only to see it picked up and renewed by Amazon Freevee.
Speaking to Ricky Wilson on Virgin Radio, Jason said: “I think you can look at it two ways. You can look at it that way… or you can look at it the way that we created such a storm that there was only one way for it to go, and that was to bow down to public pressure and Amazon’s Mr Bezos… is that his name? Bow down to The Bezos and bring it back.
“Look, I was surprised. I’m not gonna lie to you. I think it happened very quickly! But quick is good!”
The series will be back on screens on September 18th on Amazon Freevee, just over a year after what was thought to have been the last-ever episode was broadcast on July 29th on Channel 5.
However, the return will be set two years after the events of the finale.
In a trailer for the show, described as “a new chapter”, Jackie Woodburne’s character Susan Kennedy says: “Gosh, a lot has happened in the last two years.”
As well as Jackie, Alan Fletcher, Annie Jones, Rebekah Elmaloglou, Ryan Moloney, and Stefan Dennis are all returning as series regulars.
In the trailer, ‘The OC’ actress Mischa Barton guest stars as Reece Sinclair, who appears to be in a relationship with Byron Stone, now played by Xavier Molyneux.
But he accuses her of “keeping secrets”, which could no doubt lead to drama on Ramsay Street.
The trailer also teased a huge upcoming wedding.
April Rose Pengilly, Guy Pearce, Ian Smith, Jodi Gordon, Melissa Bell, and Trevor the Dog will also guest star in the series, while Tim Kano, Sara West, Shiv Palekar, Candice Leask, Emerald Chan, Georgie Stone, Lloyd Will, Lucinda Armstrong Hall, Lucinda Cowden, Marley Williams, Naomi Rukavina, Riley Bryant are part of the main cast.

Phil Spencer’s celebrity friends share condolences after parents’ tragic deaths

OHMYGOSSIP — Phil Spencer’s celebrity pals have shared their support, after he revealed the tragic details of his parents’ deaths.
The ‘Location, Location, Location’ presenter, 53, is devastated after his dad Richard, 89, and mum Anne, 82, were killed in an accident on their farm in Kent on Friday (18.08.23) but insisted it was God’s plan that they died together.
After Phil shared a message on Instagram, his famous friends reached out with his ‘Location, Location, Location’ co-star Kirstie Allsopp, writing: “Such a brave and loving statement and so typical of you your lovely family. So many people have you all in their thoughts and prayers. Xxx.”
TV presenter Piers Morgan said: “How incredibly sad. So sorry Phil,” while adventurer Ben Fogle added: “So sorry Phil.”
Chef Phil Vickery said: “My thoughts are with you and the family,”, ‘This Morning’ presenter Craig Doyle wrote: “Oh Phil, this is so very sad. My thoughts are with you and your family. May they rest in peace” and radio presenter Jenni Falconer commented: “Oh Phil, sending so much love to you and your family. This is truly heartbreaking.”
The comments came after Phil’s heartbreaking post about his beloved parents.
He wrote: “Very sadly both of my amazing parents died on Friday.
“As a family we are all trying to hold onto the fact Mum and Dad went together and that neither will ever have to mourn the loss of the other one. Which is a blessing in itself.”
Opening up about his parents’ illnesses, Phil added: “Although they were both on extremely good form in the days before (hence the sudden idea to go out to lunch), Mum’s Parkinson’s and Dad’s Dementia had been worsening and the long-term future was set to be a challenge.
“So much so that Mum said to me only a week ago that she had resigned to thinking ‘now it looks like we will probably go together’.
“And so they did. That was what God had planned for them – and it was a good plan.”
Giving details of the pair’s crash, Phil told his followers: “The car, going very slowly, toppled over a bridge on the farm drive, upside down into the river. There were no physical injuries and I very much doubt they would have even fought it – they would have held hands under the water and quietly slipped away.
“Their carer was in the car and managed to climb out of a back window so the alarm was raised quite quickly.
“As many farmers do – my brother had a penknife and so was able to cut the seat belts – he pulled them out of the river but they never regained consciousness.
“Although desperately sad and shocked beyond all belief – all family are clear that if there can ever be such a thing as having a ‘good end’ – this was it.”
Phil signed off his post with: “It feels horrendous right now, but after almost 60 years of marriage – to die together on the farm they so loved will, I know, be a comfort in the future.
“Mum Dad are together which is precisely where they would have wanted to be.”

Fourth Bridget Jones film faces two-year delay due to Hollywood strike

OHMYGOSSIP — The next ‘Bridget Jones’ movie is facing a two-year delay due to the Hollywood actors’ strike.
Renee Zellweger has signed up to reprise the titular role in the fourth installment of the franchise but only had a small window where she could shoot the project – which is now running out as the SAG-AFTRA strike holds up productions.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “It’s a nightmare for film bosses. It’s taken ages to get everyone on board with Bridget Jones 4 and now the strike means it’s in jeopardy.
“Renee is one of the biggest names in Hollywood so has already signed up for multiple films in the coming years.
“She only has a tight window to shoot Bridget and the strike means she could totally miss it.”
The ‘Bridget Jones’ movies are based on Helen Fielding’s novels and the character first hit the big screen in 2001 with ‘Bridget Jones’s Diary’ – which proved to be a huge hit and made over £200 million at the box office.
Two sequels have since followed – ‘Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason’ in 2004 and ‘Bridget Jones’s Baby’ in 2016.
Fielding revealed last year that she was working on a fourth film based on her 2013 novel ‘Mad About the Boy’.
She said: “Yes I’m working on it and I really hope it will happen.
“Every film that gets made is a miracle – it’s really difficult to make films happen and to make them good.
“But I’d love to see it on screen.”
Renee expressed hope last year that she would be able to portray the unlucky-in-love character again.
Speaking on ‘The Jess Cagle Show’ on SiriusXM, the 54-year-old actress said: “I hope so. I hope so. I mean, it’s fun, you know, she’s so much fun.
“I love being in her shoes.
“I mean, it makes me giggle, you know, every day on set the choices that we get to make about just how awkward we can make her circumstances. It’s just so much fun.”

Peanuts creator Charles M. Schulz’s son wants another Snoopy movie

OHMYGOSSIP — The son of ‘Peanuts’ creator Charles M. Schulz is hoping for a new movie based on the comic strip.
Snoopy and Charlie Brown last hit the big screen with ‘The Peanuts Movie’ in 2015 but Craig Schulz is optimistic about the possibility of another film.
In an interview with Screen Rant, Craig said: “I could tell you, but I’d have to kill you.
“Nothing is off the table, we’re always exploring different ideas and different things in this co-view series (‘The Snoopy Show’) that we’ve done, which touched upon the environment, the love for teachers, Mother’s Day, and how it interacts with enough people.
“Those subjects are just really fun, and as you know, the ‘Peanuts’ universe is sort of endless.”
There have been five movies based on Schulz’s comic strip and Craig believes there is plenty of scope for the character to return to the big screen.
He said: “There are so many great characters to work with, there’s so many great themes to work with that we explore everything, and I don’t know that a movie is off the table. I would like to see one come back, but keep your fingers crossed, we will see.”
Craig’s father Charles passed away in 2000 and he discussed the importance of keeping the ‘Peanuts’ legacy alive.
Asked about the responsibility, he said: “Well, it’s tremendous. And I look back on how he took the responsibility. His comic strip created hundreds of thousands of jobs, and he felt very responsible to those people that were doing all that work.
“So people might ask how he could do a comic strip for 50 years. Well, a lot of it was because he felt responsible to all these people.”
Craig added: “But the other thing was that it was the love of his life. There was nothing he liked more than sitting at the drawing table and drawing those comic strips and literally living with that gang of kids.”

Vanessa Feltz blasts cheating ex Ben Ofoedu

OHMYGOSSIP — Vanessa Feltz has blasted her cheating ex-fiance Ben Ofoedu on ‘Celebs Go Dating’.
The 61-year-old presenter is looking for love on the E4 show and insisted she is seeking the “diametric opposite to the last incumbent”.
During her introduction video, Vanessa said: “I am looking for the diametric opposite to the last incumbent. I would like somebody that’s worth investing your time and badly broken heart into.”
Speaking about feeling vulnerable, Vanessa added: “After all these years of reality TV, you’d think I would manage some kind of facade by now.
“When something is happening to me on TV, you can see what my real emotions are.
“Even if I am assuming I have hidden it, I haven’t, so it has been an emotional journey.”
Vanessa is bouncing back from her heartache over Ben – after it was revealed he had been unfaithful several times during their relationship – and even flirted with comedian Spuddz, 33, on the show.
When he quipped that he had launched his own profile on OnlyFans, she said: “Maybe I should sign up and have a look.”
Meanwhile, Vanessa previously explained how her daughters Allegra and Saskia had persuaded her to sign up for the programme and revealed that her family and friends have all been supportive of the move.
Vanessa told The Mirror: “(They’ve been) very good about it. Both my daughters are big fans of the show. They said there’s no downside, definitely do it. My friends have all been really encouraging.”
The broadcaster recently admitted that it felt as if she was “wading through treacle” when a date did not go to plan and lamented that she is a “rotten picker” of men.
Vanessa explained on ‘This Morning’: “I think dating is damn difficult. I’ve not done it for 17 years. I wouldn’t sit here and pretend it’s a breeze and a blast. When it’s not going well it’s like wading through treacle. But when you meet someone it can be easy it can be bliss. It can be great. It’s just a numbers game isn’t it… I have been a rotten picker, I haven’t been good at picking. I thought the agents must be able to do better than I can, they can’t do any worse.”

Taika Waititi reveals goals for potential Thor 5

OHMYGOSSIP — Taika Waititi admits Thor would need a more powerful villain for potential fifth film.
Although there is no ‘Thor 5’ currently in development, the 48-year-old filmmaker has pondered what the next instalment would look like as he tries to live up to the threat of the character’s sister Hela from 2017’s ‘Thor: Ragnarok’.
In Titan’s ‘Thor: Love and Thunder – The Official Movie Special’ book, he said: “What is left to do to him?
“It’s got to be something that feels like it’s carrying on with the evolution of the character, but still in a very fun way and still giving him things to come up against that feel like they’re building on the obstacles that he has to overcome.
“I don’t think we can have a villain that’s weaker than Hela.
“I feel like we need to step up from there and add a villain that’s somehow more formidable.”
Cate Blanchett played goddess of death Hela in ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ as the character destroyed Thor’s hammer Mjölnir and took control of Asgard.
If Waititi did get to helm a fifth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise, he’d also want to bring in “more and more outlandish and crazy beasts, monsters and aliens” from different world while sticking to the thunder dog’s origins.
He added: “There’s a fun element to [Thor] and he has a casualness and a sort or swagger about him when he visits these worlds and encounters these aliens that I don’t think you’d get when it’s an earthling traveling through space exploring the universe.”
Despite his desire for a fifth movie, Chris Hemsworth – who plays Thor on the big screen – has been it clear this summer that his return to the MCU isn’t guaranteed.
He told Entertainment Weekly: “I don’t want to continue to do it until people are so exhausted that they roll their eyes when they see me come on the screen as that character.
“If an audience wants to see it, and if there’s something that we believe is exciting and fun, then great. I’ve loved being able to reinvent that character a few times.
“I don’t have the answer yet, but I would love to try and [figure out] how we can do that again and keep it a little unpredictable.”

Dave Bautista and Jason Momoa ‘to star in Angel Manuel Soto’s The Wrecking Crew’

OHMYGOSSIP — Dave Bautista and Jason Momoa are expected to star in Angel Manuel Soto’s ‘The Wrecking Crew’.
‘Blue Beetle’ director Soto is to make the movie, which has a script written by Jonathan Tropper, who penned the project before the writers’ strike got underway in June.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bautista and Momoa were in discussions to co-star in the film before the American actors’ union SAG-AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) went on strike in July.
While there aren’t any plot details about the movie, it has been described as a “buddy comedy”.
It comes after Bautista admitted in August 2021 that he wanted to star in a buddy cop movie with Momoa.
The wrestler-turned-actor teamed up with the ‘Aquaman’ star for the second series of the Apple TV+ drama ‘See’, and admitted he also wanted to work with the star on the big screen in a “Lethal Weapon” style movie.
Bautista tweeted: “Just going to throw this out into the atmosphere and see what happens. Here we go… Me and Momoa in a ‘Lethal Weapon’ type buddy cop movie directed by David Leitch. Ok! There it is. Now we wait (sic)”
Momoa later admitted he is open to starring in a buddy cop movie with Bautista.
Speaking on ‘The Late Late Show with James Corden’, he said: “I’m not on Twitter, but he literally texted me about four days ago, going, ‘We need to do a buddy cop film.’
“We love each other, you know, obviously we met on ‘See’, we’re on ‘Dune’ together, so I said ‘absolutely’. And he’s like, ‘Let’s do it in Hawaii.’ I’m like, ‘Let’s do it.’ I’m like, ‘I got an idea’. So it’s off to the races now. We’re doing it.”
Momoa joked: “It sells itself. Dave loves wearing speedos. I love wearing board shorts. Ya know, both of us with our shirts off. You know, buddy cop film. He’ll be grumpy, I’ll be charming. Boom. It sells itself, bro. Bam!”

The new eight part series will follow best friends Saoirse, Robyn and Dara – who have been close since school – in their late 30s living very different lives as they each get an email telling them their old classmate Greta has died.
However, the synopsis teases: “The friends decide to attend Greta’s wake and discover all may not be quite as it seems.

Even before the wake, there appears to be some “unspoken, unfinished business” between the trio.
In a statement, Lisa said: “I feel so incredibly lucky to be making another show for the phenomenal Channel 4 and to be doing it with Hat Trick Productions again and the creative team behind ‘Derry Girls’, the mighty Liz Lewin and Caroline Leddy, is just a dream.

“Getting to know the multi hyphenated talents of Lisa, Liz, Caroline and their collaborators at Hat Trick Productions has been one of the greatest pleasures in my first year as Head of Comedy.
“We can’t wait to bring Lisa’s next world to life for all those who already love her work and many more to come.”

‘Get your partner to check you’: Chris Evans urges men to check for skin cancer after diagnosis

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Evans has urged others to check for skin cancer following his diagnosis, and warned melanomas can crop up on areas that people might not think to look at.
The 57-year-old radio presenter revealed his diagnosis on his Virgin Radio show on Monday (21.08.23), and he is now encouraging others to keep an eye out for any changes in their skin, and he warned that many single men miss out on melanomas on their back because they don’t check there.
He told The Sun newspaper: “One example of why it’s an extraordinary thing to look for, is there is a high percentage of men who tragically lose their lives to melanomas which they don’t see them because they’re on their backs.
“And they’re single men. You don’t see your back that often.
“And if it’s in your back in the middle of your shoulder blades, unless you have a partner or play in a sports team, it is unlikely you will see that, ever.
“Unless you check for it on purpose. Get your partner to check you, it might be more fun.”
Chris has a malignant growth on his leg, which he thought was “probably nothing”, but fortunately he had it looked at and it was caught early.
He added: “It is funny because you go for the really invasive checks and the initially embarrassing ones with your stools and stuff – then you get this seamlessly harmless freckle on the back of your calf and you think, it’s probably nothing – but it can be.
“Caught at this stage in situ, you know, only a fool would ever want cancer, but if you have to have a cancer, this is the one you want because it is stage zero.
“But it is morphing and it will move.”
Chris reassured listeners this week that his skin cancer is treatable because it was caught so early.
He said on his radio show: “We need to discuss what’s going on with this issue.

‘I had to be good’: Archie Madekwe needed to drive perfectly in Gran Turismo

OHMYGOSSIP — Archie Madekwe was under pressure to perfect the simulated driving scenes in ‘Gran Turismo’.
The 28-year-old star plays Jann Mardenborough, a young ‘Gran Turismo’ player who became a real-life racing driver, in the new movie but needed to get the driving style right to impress the “meticulous” fans of the popular PlayStation racing game.
In an interview with Screen Rant – conducted before the SAG-AFTRA strike – Archie said: “Every single scene that you see me playing ‘Gran Turismo’, I’m playing in real life.
“I had to be good, and there was immense pressure in that way because the fans are just so meticulous. They know if someone’s good or not.”
The actor continued: “In a lot of those scenes, David (Archie’s trainer) would be in the back just screaming instructions to me, making sure I got it right and I had my hands in the same way. I’d put my hands up to the steering wheel, and he’d be like, ‘No, you hold it like this. The sim drivers will kill you if you put your hands up like that.’ And so it was constant, constant, constant adjustments.”
Archie previously revealed that he couldn’t drive when he was first cast in the picture and had to cram in lessons to get his licence just three weeks before the start of filming.
He told The Hollywood Reporter: “I was so honest. It wasn’t an, ‘I can ride a horse’ type of thing and I’ll just learn later. I really said, ‘Look, guys, just so you know, I can’t drive.'”
During the audition process, Archie was told he had two-and-a-half weeks to pass his test and would be expected to drive a racing car.
The British actor recalled: “I’m thinking, ‘Are you kidding me?’ I was working on another film, so I’m shooting in the day and, at night, taking [driving] lessons.”

‘She has a Jewish soul’: Golda director Guy Nattiv defends casting of Dame Helen Mirren

OHMYGOSSIP — Guy Nattiv thinks Dame Helen Mirren’s “Jewish soul” meant she was perfect for the role of Golda Meir.
The casting of Mirren as Israel’s first and only female prime minister in ‘Golda’ sparked controversy as the star is not Jewish but the director was “sensitive” to the issue.
Guy told Deadline’s Crew Call podcast: “I’m Jewish, I’m Israeli, both of my grandparents are Holocaust survivors. There’s no one more sensitive than me when somebody is portraying a Jew in the wrong way.
“But, and it’s a big but: Helen Mirren portrays Golda in a brilliant way. She has Golda’s soul, she has a Jewish soul.”
The movie is set during the 1973 Yom Kippur War and sees Meir – who had been diagnosed with cancer – leading Israel after the country is rocked by a surprise twin attack by Arab powers Syria and Egypt on the morning of the Jewish holiday Yom Kippur and Nattiv explained how it sets out to dispel the thought that she was to blame for the severe casualties during the early stages of conflict.
The 50-year-old filmmaker said: “We understood the narrative was that she wasn’t to blame. It was much more complicated than that.
“She relied on her dysfunctional commanders who did a lot of wrong stuff, that almost brought us to a total devastation.”
Nattiv also bemoaned the attitude of many current world leaders for lacking “integrity” compared to Meir – who resigned in 1974 as a result of the fallout from the Yom Kippur War.
He said: “We miss people with integrity. Humble people that cared more about the country than themselves. What you see now is totally corrupt.”
