Danielle Harold in talks for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

OHMYGOSSIP — Danielle Harold is in talks to take part in ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’.
The 31-year-old actress is “in demand” since leaving ‘EastEnders’ earlier this year after 11 years playing Lola Pearce-Brown in an emotional storyline that saw her character die after battling brain cancer, and producers think she would be the “ideal campmate” for the upcoming new series.
A source told the Sun on Sunday newspaper: “Danielle is at the height of her career and in demand after her moving storyline on EastEnders, but she’s really caught the eye of ITV bosses to appear in the upcoming series of the jungle.
“As well as being a talented actress with a huge fanbase, Danielle has a fun personality with a wicked sense of humour, which makes her the ideal campmate for the show.
“It could propel her into superstardom at an exciting time in her acting journey.
“Conversations are under way and producers are trying to lure her with a lucrative deal.”
A spokesperson for the show declined to confirm the rumour.
An ITV representative simply said: “Any names suggested for ‘I’m A Celebrity’ are speculation.”
Fellow soap star Alan Halsall – who has played Tyrone Dobbs on ‘Coronation Street’ for 25 years – is also believed to be lined up for the tough jungle contest.
An insider said in July: “Tyrone is one of Corrie’s most-loved characters so Alan comes with a ready-made fan base.
“Sometimes soap actors who are known for their iconic roles don’t quite translate once in camp – Adam Woodyatt being one recent example.
“But Alan is a top lad with bags of personality so ITV are over the moon he’s in talks to join their 2023 cast.”
Former ‘Big Brother’ champion Josie Gibson, who is now a presenter on ‘his Morning’, is said to have been offered a six-figure sum to take part.
A source said recently: “Josie is hugely popular with ‘This Morning’ viewers and producers were determined to get her.
“She is seen as the perfect person for the jungle as she’s already such a familiar face on ITV and will bring her fanbase with her.
“She’s incredibly down-to-earth and seems to strike a chord with people at home. Plus they’re confident Josie will bring the laughs to ‘I’m A Celebrity’, as she already does on ‘This Morning’, and is guaranteed to get on with most of the jungle campmates.”

‘It’s like a robot taking your soul’: Tim Burton upset by AI recreating his animation style

OHMYGOSSIP — Tim Burton felt his humanity was “sucked” from him when AI was used to recreate his distinctive style of animation.
The ‘Nightmare Before Christmas’ filmmaker acknowledged some of the Disney characters that were reimagined for a Buzzfeed article in July were “very good”, but admitted it made him very uncomfortable seeing the famous princesses with pale faces, big eyes and long dark dresses in gothic settings.
He told The Independent newspaper: “They had AI do my versions of Disney characters! I can’t describe the feeling it gives you. It reminded me of when other cultures say, ‘Don’t take my picture because it is taking away your soul.’
“What it does is it sucks something from you. It takes something from your soul or psyche; that is very disturbing, especially if it has to do with you. It’s like a robot taking your humanity, your soul.”
The use of AI has been a contributing factor to the reasons why writers and actors are currently on strike in Hollywood and Tim revealed he was close to finishing the long-awaited ‘Beetlejuice’ sequel – which stars Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Jenna Ortega, Catherine O’Hara and Willem Dafoe – before the industrial action was called.
He said: “I feel grateful we got what we got. Literally, it was a day and a half.
“We know what we have to do. It is 99 percent done.”
The 65-year-old director finds making big studio movies exhausting and he struggles to watch the work back afterwards, but always tries to focus on the positives of the experience.
He said: “That’s why it is hard for me to watch the movies afterwards, because I still feel the emotional whatever of it. I don’t get a release from that. But I do enjoy all the people I’ve worked with.
“On this last one, ‘Beetlejuice 2’, I really enjoyed it. I tried to strip everything and go back to the basics of working with good people and actors and puppets. It was kind of like going back to why I liked making movies.”

‘I won’t be ringing the bell again’: Linda Nolan knows she won’t beat cancer this time

OHMYGOSSIP — Linda Nolan knows she won’t beat cancer for a third time.
The 64-year-old star was first diagnosed with stage three breast cancer in 2005 before being told she was tumour-free a year later but revealed last month that the secondary cancer discovered on her pelvis in 2017 had spread to her brain, and she admitted undergoing treatment has become a “way of life” for her now.
She wrote in a column for the Sunday Mirror newspaper: “I went off to have my sixth cycle [of chemotherapy]. It’s become a way of life now.
“I have my cancer book – a title I never thought I’d have in my library – with all my bloods, weight and so on recorded (I’ve lost 4kg, although I reckon I could live off what’s left for some time).
“I know the nurses — they’re a great ear, they listen if you need to chat or are feeling low.
“And I people-watch, listen to the bleeps and the clapping when those finishing treatment ring the bell. That’s lovely, I’m always happy for them, but I rang that bell twice. And I know now I won’t be ringing it again.
“That doesn’t make me angry though, we’re all on our own pathways here on the great chemo ward conveyor belt. And for now, mine runs straight ahead.”
But the ‘I’m in the Mood for Dancing’ singer received “good news” from her consultant this week because tests showed her tumours are not currently growing any bigger.
She wrote: “You walk towards that consultant’s door and tell yourself ‘I’m OK’. Then you reach it and know you’re really not.
“I took sister Anne with me on Monday for my scan results and we were both nervous. But this time, it was good news.
“For starters, I was actually walking – my mobility has improved for some time, and deep down I’d hoped that was a good sign (although I’m still forgetting words – but at least that’s funny).
“Turns out, I was right. ‘I can honestly say these scans are great,’ said my lovely consultant. Those words. Few could sound sweeter.
“The relief rolled over me like a wave. Thank God. My tumours are stable and haven’t got any bigger. The chemo is keeping them at bay for now.
“So, we carry on. Every three weeks, for as long as I can tolerate it.”

Nigel Harman quits Casualty after just one year

OHMYGOSSIP — Nigel Harman has left ‘Casualty’.
The 50-year-old actor joined the medical drama as consultant Max Cristie earlier this year but he’s admitted his time on the show is now “done” and he will exit the programme in what has been described as a “gripping storyline” next February.
Nigel confirmed to the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: “My time on ‘Casualty’ is done for the time being.
“There are no plans for me to go back at the moment.”
Programme insiders admitted the news will come as a huge blow to fans.
A source said: “Nigel is so popular – getting him on board was such a coup.
“A lot of viewers have been tuning in just to see him.
“This news will be heartbreaking for a lot of viewers.”
Former ‘EastEnders’ actor Nigel – who portrayed Dennis Rickman in the BBC One soap – is currently training for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ and recently admitted he is amazed, excited, and terrified” about taking part in the BBC Latin and ballroom show.
He said: “As an armchair fan of the show I have watched in awe as people have twirled and gyrated across the screen. And now it’s my turn … gulp!”
Nigel has sought advice from his ‘Casualty’ co-star Charles Venn, who played Ray Dixon in ‘EastEnders’ and previously took part in ‘Strictly’ – but admitted he didn’t like what he had to say.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’, Nigel said: “Charles Venn took me aside and he went really serious. He said, ‘You’ve got to do cardio at the gym. Cardio, cardio.’ I thought, ‘Oh my God.’ ”
Nigel recently graduated as a meditation teacher, and admitted he has a feeling he is “going to need” such skills amid his ‘Strictly’ stint.

‘I’m heartbroken he’s not here to see it’: Annabel Croft devastated late husband won’t see her Strictly performances

OHMYGOSSIP — Annabel Croft is “heartbroken” her late husband won’t see her dance on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 56-year-old former tennis ace signed up for the Latin and ballroom show because Mel Coleman – who died of cancer in May aged 60 just weeks after being diagnosed – was always a big fan of the competition and while she’s devastated he isn’t around to see her perform, she admitted training has been a welcome distraction from her grief.
She told reporters: “Mel always loved ‘Strictly’. He’d cry watching it and I’m heartbroken he’s not here to see it.
“It’s been a terrible, terrible time and there hasn’t been a day where I haven’t cried.
“That’s why I think it’s good I’m doing something that will distract me. To be distracted, to be spending time doing something so wonderful and beautiful, is amazing.”
Annabel has three adult children with her late husband, Charlie, Amber and Lilly, and they are thrilled she’s signed up for the show.
She said: “My two daughters are amazing dancers so they’re especially excited.”
The sports broadcaster insisted she isn’t going to be competitive on the show and is just embracing the opportunity to learn a new skill and “find a little joy”.
She said: “As a tennis player I am only competitive with myself. I don’t want to be competitive in the competition because we already know there are massive differences in how everyone moves and dances.
“I couldn’t possibly compare myself to a lot of them because they’re all amazing, so for me it’s about having joy and finding a little joy. I’m learning something new and I’m listening to the music and hopefully just going with the flow.”
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ returns on 16 September.

‘I have access to the nerdiest nerds’: Shawn Levy was determined to get Wolverine costume right

OHMYGOSSIP — Shawn Levy was determined to make Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine suit comic-accurate for ‘Deadpool 3’.
The 55-year-old filmmaker and his team went through “multiple, multiple, multiple iterations and fittings” to make sure the character’s distinctive yellow costume was recognisable from his origins because he is unsure when, or even if, Wolverine will ever be on screen again.
He told Entertainment Weekly: “Like the rest of the world, I’ve waited two decades to see Wolverine in a whole movie with Deadpool, and I don’t know if this is our last shot at Wolverine on screen, so I was going to make goddamned sure we get the old yellow and blue just once, and that we get it right.”
And he joked he knew he had the right people on board to ensure they got the outfit right.
He laughed: “It also helps that I’m making this movie within the MCU, so I have access to an army of the nerdiest nerds available to a Marvel project.
Photos from the set of the film leaked earlier this year, showing Hugh in his yellow outfit next to Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, and Shawn is happy with fan reaction so far.
He said: “Fortunately, it seems global reaction to those costumes has been overwhelmingly positive, so all’s well that ends well.”
And the director noted he knew location filming meant there would be a risk of leaks but he and Ryan “wanted our movie to be grounded and not feel like a bunch of physical environments filmed on a soundstage.”
While the likes of Emma Corrin, Rob Delaney and Morena Baccarin are confirmed to be part of the movie – which is currently on hiatus due to the ongoing Hollywood strikes – there are unconfirmed rumours that Jennifer Garner will reprise her 2005 role as Elektra and Liev Schreiber will play Sabretooth, and the director refused to confirm or deny the speculation.
He teased: “I’d rather not weigh in on that, but I’ll say this. The rumours of actors, singers, sports stars who are all apparently in ‘Deadpool 3’ are fabulous. If all I read was the internet, I would have the greatest cast ever assembled in the history of cinema, so I’ll simply say that some of those rumors are true, and some of them aren’t.”

Kate Garraway was rushed to hospital in heart attack scare

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Garraway was rushed to hospital last year over fears she was having a heart attack.
The ‘Good Morning Britain’ star has revealed she suffered a terrible morning in November 2022 when she woke up feeling temporarily paralysed with a crippling pain in her chest – she decided to head to work anyway but had to stop the car to be sick on the way to the studio.
In extracts from her book ‘The Strength Of Love’ – published by The Sun newspaper – Kate wrote: “There was a searing pain in my chest — as though someone had punched their fist through my breastbone, snatched hold of my heart and squeezed. The pain was sharp and excruciating. Then I realised that it wasn’t a sudden onset of pain. It had been there all the time. My temporary paralysis had distracted me …
“[After getting in the car] nausea swept over me and I asked the driver to pull over. I was sick in the kerbside drain, cringing at how shameful it was. I got back into the car, the pain in my chest now all-consuming and creeping up my neck and into my jaw. When we got to the studios, I went straight to my dressing room and collapsed on my sofa.”
Kate spoke to the show’s editor about her condition and then called the show’s resident TV medic Dr Hilary, who advised her to go to hospital. The TV presenter refused to let worried show staff call an ambulance, but she agreed to go to a nearby accident and emergency unit accompanied by a junior producer.
After getting to hospital she underwent a series of tests and a doctor told her she wasn’t having a heart attack, but warned her she needed to start taking care of herself better because of the stress she was under caring for her husband Derek Draper, who has needed around-the-clock help since a near-fatal battle with COVID-19.
Kate went on to reveal her chest pain issue seemed to be a one-off and put it down to a possible case of stress-related angina. She added: “My scare seems to have been a one-off issue, but doctors are now keeping an eye on it — it might have been stress-related angina. Or it could also have been my body’s response to stress in general. But it has forced me to make some changes.”
She explained she’s sorted out her finances and decluttered the house, while she’s also trying out “rituals and techniques” to help her achieve some “mental space”.

‘I’m wearing it like a badge of honour’: Angela Rippon proud to be Strictly’s oldest contestant

OHMYGOSSIP — Angela Rippon views being ‘Strictly Come Dancing’s oldest-ever contestant as a “badge of honour”.
The veteran broadcaster turns 79 next month and she hopes her taking part in the BBC Latin and ballroom show will inspire other older people to take up dancing because she’s previously worked on a project that showed dancing was good for both the body and the mind in later life.
She told reporters: “I suppose in a way I’m kind of wearing it like a badge of honour, because you can’t get away from it.
“I’ve spent a long time now since since I made the film with Dr Chris van Tulleken, ‘How to Stay Young’, where we did proper scientific research with a group in Germany on what was the best kind of exercise to do as you get older.
“And the university pitted dancers who were 60-plus up to 80 against people in the gym, and the dancers came out overall as the fittest, and we decided that actually dance is the best overall mind and body exercise – and I’ve been pushing that since.
“I’m the ambassador for Silver Swans for the Royal Ballet, which is to get people – men and women – 50-plus to go to a ballet class for the strength, flexibility and all of that.
“I think if we can get the message across, that it is a great way of keeping fit even during your 20s and 30s, and think ahead to when you’re going to be old.
“And the number of people that are dancing in their 60s and 70s or 80s and 90s, it’s fantastic and it’s good for the brain as well.”
The former ‘Come Dancing’ presenter hopes her years being “around” dancers will help her understand the technical elements she needs to accomplish – but she’s also had doubts around her decision to compete against much-younger stars such as Bobby Brazier and Zara McDermott.
She said: “I mean, I presented ‘Come Dancing’, I didn’t dance.
“But I’ve been very fortunate that I’ve been around dancers for a very long time doing Come Dancing, and I was on the board of English National Ballet for 10 years, and I was the chairman for four years.
“I’ve been around dancers and now I’m an ambassador for Silver Swans. So I think I’m quite good at looking, so I know what’s required. And I did go to ballet class until I was about 17, so my brain says, ‘Yeah I know how to do that.’
“My brain [also] says, ‘What the hell are you doing?'”

Pedro Almodovar calls for better representation in the writers room

OHMYGOSSIP — Pedro Almodovar believes Hollywood bosses need to hire more “minorities” to write movies.
The Spanish filmmaker doesn’t agree that only gay or Jewish actors should play gay or Jewish characters and thinks the best way to promote true diversity in the film industry is by having authentic voices bring their experiences to the story.
He told The Hollywood Reporter magazine: “The essence of acting is, in fact, to pretend, to be someone other than who you are, even in your own essence. That is at the core of acting.
“So, for example, absolutely a heterosexual actor can play a homosexual character and vice versa.
“If Hollywood is so obsessed, as it is right now, with representing minorities, be they Latinos, Asians or people with disabilities, they should actually hire them to do the writing.
“Just so I’m not misunderstood, I want to make sure that it is clear that I’m very much in favour of minorities of all types to be considered for casting in films and also to be hired behind the camera and that they be able to tell their own stories.
“I mean, even when you talk about the Western, we don’t have many Westerns told from the point of view of Native Americans, even though this is a genre that speaks of them, often in very unkind and unfair ways.”
Since releasing ‘Pain and Glory’ in 2019, Pedro has gone on to work on two short films, ‘The Human Voice’ and ‘Strange Way of Life’ and the 73-year-old filmmaker admitted they have given his career new excitement, as well as helping improve how he works in English.
He said: “I wrote those two stories, and the right format for them was the short. I didn’t want to artificially lengthen them because that was the right length.
“The thing that I discovered as I was shooting both of them is that I kind of recovered a sort of illusion, the feeling of a first-time filmmaker.
“I have a passion for every single film I do, otherwise I wouldn’t make the films, but there was something new and exciting for me shooting in this format, and it also allowed me a lot of room for experimentation, which has been exciting.
“I also think of shorts as practice — I’ve practiced through these two shorts to shoot in English, which I feel like I’m also prepared to do now.”

Deadpool 3 director hoping for strike resolution

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Deadpool 3’ director Shawn Levy is hoping Hollywood’s striking writers and actors can reach a resolution to allow work on his superhero movie to continue.
The US entertainment industry has been brought to a standstill after members of the Writers Guild of America and the SAG-AFTRA actors union walked out earlier this year as part of an ongoing dispute over issues including pay and conditions and Levy was half-way through making his Marvel movie – starring Ryan Reynolds – when they had to shut down.
He’s now insisted he’s hoping the unions can reach a deal with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) to get movie production back up and running again. Speaking to Deadline.com, he explained: “Well, like the rest of our industry, or at least large swath of it, we’re paused. We’re halfway through filming ‘Deadpool’, co-starring Wolverine. It was a joy every day and that chemistry is as relentless as we all hoped it would be.
“Our crew and the rest of us are awaiting a fair and equitable deal that ends these strikes and puts this industry, inclusive of our movie, back at work.”
The movie is due to hit cinemas in May 2024 but it’s not known if they will be able to meet the deadline if the strikes continue.
It co-stars Hugh Jackman who is bringing his X-Men character Wolverine to ‘Deadpool 3’ and Levy insists the film will be worth the wait.
He said: “Our movie is raw, audacious, very much R-rated and we went to great lengths to not shoot it on sound stages with digital environments. We wanted something that felt, grounded, real … You put Hugh Jackman in his most iconic character alongside Ryan Reynolds in his most iconic character; it’s more of a descendant of ‘Midnight Run’, and 4’8 Hours’, and ‘Planes, Trains and Automobiles’ more than it’s a descendant of ‘Airplane’.”

Freddie Flintoff ‘planning TV return’

OHMYGOSSIP — Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff is reportedly planning a return to TV later this year.
The former cricketer stepped out of the spotlight after suffering broken ribs and facial injuries in a car crash while filming ‘Top Gear’ in December with BBC bosses canning production on the rest of the series in the aftermath of the accident – but Freddie recently got back to work helping coach the England squad in Cardiff on Friday (08.09.23) and a new report suggests he’s also heading back to the small screen.
The Mirror newspaper reports Freddie is planning to get back to work filming the series this winter. A source told the publication: “Everyone is thrilled and relieved Freddie is gearing up to get back to work. We know how much this series meant to him. It was a passion project that was also loved by the viewers, so it’s great it will mark his return to the screen after what must have been an extraordinarily difficult time.”
In the first season of ‘Freddie Flintoff’s Field of Dreams’ , the sportsman took a group of young people from his home town of Preston and attempted to turn them into a competitive cricket team.
Plans for season two were announced in October prior to his ‘Top Gear’ crash. Speaking at the time, Freddie declared: “Working with the boys was one of the most incredible experiences of my life but the work is not finished yet!”
Freddie was was airlifted to hospital after the car accident during filming at the ‘Top Gear’ test track at Dunsfold Park Aerodrome in Surrey and later took time off to recover from his injuries.
The BBC previously said it would be “inappropriate” to resume filming ‘Top Gear’ after the crash. They said in a statement: “Under the circumstances, we feel it would be inappropriate to resume making series 34.” A decision on how best to continue will be made later this year and the BBC plan to carry out a health and safety review of the show. The statement continued: “We have sincerely apologised to Freddie and will continue to support him with his recovery. “We understand this [halting the show] will be disappointing for fans, but it is the right thing to do, and we’ll make a judgement about how best to continue later this year. “Finally there will be a health and safety review of the show, in line with our procedures.”

Dawn French spent years in pain after recreating Vicar of Dibley puddle jump

OHMYGOSSIP — Dawn French spent years in agony after recreating her famous ‘Vicar of Dibley’ puddle jump scene on a chat show.
The 65-year-old actress has revealed she agreed to act out the famous skit – in which her character disappeared into a deep puddle up to her neck – during an appearance on Paul O’Grady’s chat show in 2009 in which she would fall through specially-built set but she landed badly and was left with lasting injuries.
During one-woman stage show in Exeter on Thursday (07.09.23) – as reported by the Daily Mail newspaper – Dawn explained: “[It was] catastrophically misguided … They constructed a 10ft-high hill out of scaffolding covered in AstroTurf. The idea was that there was a long enough drop for me to disappear into. Then some bright spark had the idea of having a shallow silicon membrane containing two inches of water on top so that, as I jumped through, the water would splash up and look like a deep puddle.
But what was I falling onto? The answer is absolutely nothing. Except for 10ft below there were two very thin crash mats in a film studio with a flat concrete floor. Any fool would know this was a disaster in the making. Any fool but me.”
After showing the stage show audience a picture of the moment before she jumped, Dawn said: “This is the last time that my body is actually intact. This is the last time I had two functioning legs.”
She went on to reveal she landed badly and heard a “twanging noise” but she didn’t want to admit weakness by saying she’d been injured. After driving home, she realised she wasn’t ok and spent a long time in pain before consulting a surgeon who warned her she would need a knee-replacement operation in the future but could make do with a steroid injection.
The jabs worked for several years but after working on 2022 film ‘Death on the Nile’, Dawn was in agony again. She then sought help again, explaining: “I called the surgeon to have the [knee replacement] operation. Then he told me I couldn’t have three injections in total but three a year. I could have had loads of injections for all those painful years.”

Celine Song says ‘Past Lives’ shows how memory can change laws of physics: ‘That’s what’s amazing about how we can live through time and space’

OHMYGOSSIP — Celine Song says ‘Past Lives’ shows how memories can bend the laws of physics.
Her hit romantic drama, which has been hailed as one of the best movies of the year, follows Nora (played by Greta Lee) and Hae Sung (Teo Yoo), who meet as mutual crushes growing up in South Korea but are separated when Nora moves to Canada at age 12.
‘Past Lives’ follows them at 12-year intervals, which includes an Internet re-connection and an in-person reunion after Nora has moved to New York and married a fellow writer.
Celine, 35, told NME: “The physics of time and space are unchangeable. We have to go through time and space at the same speed as anyone else.
“But you can sometimes exist outside, or underneath, or above it, just by being able to imagine someone you knew as a child.”
The director added to her interviewer: “I didn’t know you when you were 12, but if you’re talking to somebody who (did), and I asked that person, ‘Can you believe it, he used to be 12?’ – immediately you know that person could be immediately transported to that time, and they’d be able to see you as a 12-year-old. That’s the amazing power we all have, to see another part of a person’s story in a different time or space… maybe 20 years from now, (when) we’re talking about like, my tenth movie or my twentieth movie, and I’ll be like, ‘Remember when we first met?’ And I’ll just see you right here.
“And I think that’s what’s amazing about how we can live through time and space.”
Celine added she loves checking the ticket sales at cinemas of ‘Past Lives’, saying: “I love that it’s still playing all day! I do this thing where I look (online) at how many people are there and where they’re sitting.
“So I can pretend to choose seats and see how they’re filled. I love seeing, like, five people seeing it alone, or six couples. You can see the 9.50am screening, and see there’s literally one person sitting there, and another person sitting there. That’s so special!
“I hope they talk afterwards! Or maybe they just walk away and never see each other again.”

Zara McDermott ‘doesn’t see’ herself as a reality star any more

OHMYGOSSIP — Zara McDermott doesn’t see herself as a reality star any more.
It’s been five years since the former Department for Education policy advisor shot to fame competing on ITV dating show ‘Love Island’ back in 2018 and she’s gone on to present a number of BBC documentaries as well as landing a slot on the new series of TV talent show ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
Her inclusion in the line-up made headlines as it was previously thought BBC bosses had deliberately excluded reality stars from competing in ‘Strictly’, but Zara says there was never a ban plus she’s convinced she has stepped “out of that box”.
She told reporters: “I know obviously I am the first ‘Love Island’ contestant to do it, but I don’t think there was ever specifically a ban for it. I just think that maybe the show wanted someone who had ventured out of that box, really. But look, I’m really proud of my background and where I’ve come from because I’ve grown so much and done so many things, so it does feel absolutely incredible.
“But also at the same time you know I don’t see myself that much as like a reality person anymore, with the work I do now.”
Zara went on to insist her boyfriend Sam Thompson is not worried about her taking part in the show following years of speculation about the ‘Strictly’ curse as so many celebrities have split from their partners after taking to the dance floor.
When asked if Sam is nervous about the curse, she replied: “No, no, not at all! I think look, everyone on this show who has got a partner is super supportive and everybody’s going to be in the audience.”
She added of her training: “It’s been some of the best days ever, all of us non stop smiling, grinning from ear to ear just having the best time. All getting to know each other as well, this is such a special time for us.”

Call the Midwife star Olly Rix ‘to be written out’

OHMYGOSSIP — Olly Rix is reportedly being written out of ”Call the Midwife’.
The actor – who plays Matthew Aylward in the BBC drama – is said to be leaving the show and news of his departure has surprised other members of the cast after his character was seen getting married to Trixie Franklin – played by Helen George – in the last series.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “The news of Olly’s departure has left the cast and crew stunned and upset.
“They all thought he was a mainstay on the series after his prominent wedding scenes to Helen last season. Some feel it’s a bit unfair and he is well liked by everyone.
“It felt very out of the blue. There is concern now among the remaining cast about not wanting to upset production and people are keeping their heads down.”
‘Call the Midwife’ has run for 12 seasons and the BBC recently commissioned two more – meaning the show will remain on air until at least 2026.
Speaking at the time of the announcement earlier this year, creator/writer Heidi Thomas gushed: “I’m overjoyed by the news that the doors of Nonnatus House will be open for a few more years!
“‘Call the Midwife’ is the pride and joy of all who work on it, but it’s our fantastic, loyal audience that matters most. We are a family behind the scenes, on the screen, and in front of the telly, and I’m thrilled that we’re all heading into the 1970’s together.”
Executive producer Dame Pippa Harris added: “I’m delighted that the BBC has commissioned another two series of Call the Midwife, taking us into the early 70s. Fifteen series is a tremendous achievement and it’s a testament to the passion and dedication of our cast and crew, of whom I’m very proud. “But the show wouldn’t be the phenomenal success it is without the formidable presence of our creator and writer Heidi Thomas. Her continued devotion to the characters and determination to tell the untold stories of women is truly inspiring. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us and our extremely loyal audience in the future!”
