This Morning star Dr Sara welcomes baby girl

OHMYGOSSIP — Dr Sara Kayat has given birth to a baby girl.
The TV star – who is often seen giving out medical advice on ‘This Morning’ – has been married to Rupert Walker since 2017 and already has three-year-old son Harris with him but it was revealed on Monday’s (09.10.23) edition of the ITV1 magazine show that she had welcomed a daughter called Rose over the weekend.
Speaking at the beginning of the programme, host Craig Doyle said: “We’ve got a great Monday for you. We are starting for some really lovely news because over the weekend, Dr Sara welcomed a gorgeous baby girl called Rose into the world.”
Co-host Josie Gibson added: “She’s gorgeous, she’s absolutely gorgeous. She joins the family as a younger sister to her very, very proud big brother Harris. So we’re sending them huge congratulations and loads and loads of love.”
Former ‘Big Brother’ star Josie – who has son Reggie with ex-boyfriend Terry – joked that she was feeling “broody” after hearing the news.
Dr Sara – who works as a GP for the NHS when she is not appearing on television – announced earlier this year tat she was expecting and was “ecstatic” but mindful of those who may be struggling to have their own children.
She wrote on Instagram: “And so, we grow. We are expecting a little pumpkin this October. When I fell pregnant with Harris, I announced it on insta with too little consideration. It had been an easy journey and I was in my own blissful world.
The journey to baby two was a little different, and in truth at times I found myself resenting everyone else’s pregnancy announcements.
“So this time round, I’d like to be a little more mindful of others out there who are not where they want to be on their journeys to parenthood. I am obviously ecstatic about this announcement, yet I long to reach a loving hand out to anyone who is suffering. I’m sorry. It’s not fair.
” I hope from the depths of my heart that you get what you want or find peace with what you have. So much love to everyone out there, but especially to those whose paths have been rockier and darker than expected.

Joe Duttine would be ‘incredibly sad’ if his Coronation Street character was killed off

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe Duttine would be “incredibly sad” if his ‘Coronation Street’ character is killed off.
The 53-year-old actor has played taxi driver Tim Metcalfe on the ITV1 soap opera for a decade but viewers will see him knocked unconscious by a brick thrown at him by serial killer Stephen Reid at the start of Super Soap Week and has admitted that although he would be “sad” to say goodbye to the character altogether, it has been a “joy” to be a part of the serial for so long.
He told Metro.co.uk: “Coronation Street’ has s been absolutely brilliant for me, and it’s been an absolute joy to work on. So, if that’s the way the character has to go, that’s the way he has to go, and I’ll just be grateful for the time I’ve spent here. Obviously, I’d be incredibly sad, but that’s the nature of the show.”
The former ‘Shameless’ star went on to tease that while fans of the show can expect “a lot of humour” in scenes set to air over the coming week, his character is in a “lot of danger” as he remained coy about his character’s fate.
he said: “I think they can expect a lot of suspense, some humour, a lot of character-based stuff, and a real feeling of an ensemble show with lots of twists and turns and [unexpected moments]. Characters in situations that they don’t always find themselves. I think he’s [Tim] in a lot of danger! He’s been hit over the head and who knows what’s going to happen to him? He’s definitely a fish out of water!
“It’s good to stretch the acting muscles a little bit and have the opportunity to get out and do stuff that’s a challenge and flex your creative muscles a bit. I enjoyed it a lot.”

Alan Carr reveals awkward meeting with Simon Cowell after Britain’s Got Talent snub

OHMYGOSSIP — Simon Cowell told Alan Carr his ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ snub was just “showbusiness”.
The 47-year-old comedian had heard he was in the running to replace David Walliams on the panel of the ITV talent show, only for former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge Bruno Tonioli to land the role.
Alan – who was initially oblivious to the situation besides reports in the press – had an awkward moment when he bumped into Simon at a party hosted by Amanda Holden.
As quoted by The Sun newspaper, he recalled: “I go through the door and, oh great, Simon’s in there.
“So, as I always do, with my best humour I went over there and said, ‘My wrist has been hurting all weekend practising that bloody buzzer and you went for Bruno.’
“He just said, [mimicking Cowell] ‘Alan, that’s showbusiness.’ ”
He joked it was “the worst time” for a chance meeting with the talent show boss.
He added: “It was just the worst time to meet someone. Of all the people, I was like, ‘Oh s***!’ But it is showbiz, isn’t it?
“And I like Bruno. My only regret is I love working with Amanda — it would have been lovely.”
Alan – who has worked with Amanda on two series of their ‘Italian Job’ travellogue for the BBC – quickly took his kind words back and teased that he wouldn’t want her in Corfu for ‘Mamma Mia! I A Have A Dream’ filming.
He quipped: “Scrap that answer, I don’t want Amanda on holiday with me because she’s too bossy.
“She bosses me about on ‘Italian Job’, she’s not bossing me about on this, this is my holiday.
“This is so easy going and so lovely. This is like a spa break. This is like going on the tea cups and then moving on to the waltzers when I work with Amanda.”
He’s part of the panel alongside Jessie Ware, Amber Riley and Samantha Barks as they look to find the next big West End stars, and he’s happy with how things worked out.
He added: “Listen, it’s not as if I’m not busy. So listen, BGT never worked out, but hey, I’m in Corfu with these gorgeous girls having the best laugh, I’m being entertained.
“I mean, I love Greece, I love ABBA and [gesturing to his fellow judges] I love these three.”

Heat 2 is the pipeline as Michael Mann teases Adam Driver role

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Mann has confirmed ‘Heat 2’ will be his next movie.
The ‘Ferrari’ director has confirmed an adaptation of the novel – which he wrote with Meg Gardiner – will be his next project on the big screen, and he’s looking forward to getting to work.
He told Deadline: “Yes. Meg Gardiner and myself wrote the novel ‘Heat 2’, which came out right when we were shooting ‘Ferrari’.
“It did very well. I plan to shoot that next.”
Before the Hollywood writers and actors strikes, it had been reported that Adam Driver – who starred in ‘Ferrari’ – was in talks to play a young version of Neil McCauley, the character portrayed by Robert De Niro in the original 1995 crime film.
Although Mann wouldn’t confirm or deny if Driver will be involved, he admitted they “got along like a house on fire”.
He teased: “Perhaps. We don’t talk about that yet. Let me put it this way: Adam and I got along like a house on fire [on Ferrari].
“We have the same work ethic – which is pretty intense. We like each other, and we had a great time working together artistically.”
‘Heat 2’ is both a prequel and sequel to the crime classic, featuring McCauley, Chris Shiherlis (Val Kilmer) and Vincent Hannah (Al Pacino) in the years leading up to the saga.
The novel also explores what happens to the surviving characters in the following years.
For the prequel parts, readers are taken back to 1988 Chicago as McCauley, Shiherlis and their crew are taking scores on the West Coast, the US-Mexico boarder and Chicago.
While this is happening, Hanna is rising through the ranks at the Chicago Police Department as he tries to bring an ultraviolent group of home invaders to justice.

‘It was a perfect storm!’ Martin Scorsese praises ‘special’ Oppenheimer and Barbie cinema releases

OHMYGOSSIP — Martin Scorsese thought ‘Oppenheimer’ and ‘Barbie’ being released in cinemas at the same time created a “perfect storm”.
The 80-year-old filmmaker – who has made the likes of ‘Taxi Driver’, ‘Raging Bull’, ‘Goodfellas’, and ‘The Departed’ – said the double release was “something special”, because so many people went to see the films in movie theatres.
He told The Hindustan Times: “I do think that the combination of ‘Oppenheimer’ and ‘Barbie’ was something special.
“It seemed to be, I hate that word, but the perfect storm.
“It came about at the right time. And the most important thing is that people went to watch these in a theatre. And I think that’s wonderful.”
After Tom Cruise revealed on X, formerly Twitter, that he had bought tickets to see both ‘Oppenheimer’ and ‘Barbie’ over the summer, it created a cultural phenomenon known as “Barbenheimer”, in which people also watched the two movies, often on the same day.
But ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ helmer Scorsese hasn’t actually seen either movie, despite being a fan of the work of Christopher Nolan – who directed ‘Oppenheimer’ – and Margot Robbie, who portrayed Barbie.
He added: “I haven’t seen the films yet. I love Chris Nolan’s work.
“Margot Robbie, I must say, started with me from ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’.
“Rodrigo Prieto (cinematographer), after finishing ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’, went on to shoot ‘Barbie’. So it’s all in the family.
“The way it fit perfectly – a film with such entertainment value, purely with the bright colours – and a film with such severity and strength, and pretty much about the danger of the end to our civilisation – you couldn’t have more opposite films to work together.
“It does offer some hope for a different cinema to emerge, different from what’s been happening in the last 20 years, aside from the great work being done in independent cinema.
“I always get upset by that, the independent films being relegated to ‘indies.’ Films that only a certain kind of people would like. Just show them on a tiny screen somewhere.”
Scorsese’s latest comments come after he recently called for Nolan and other directors to “save cinema” from a comic book and franchise culture.
In a profile with GQ magazine, he said: “The danger there is what it’s doing to our culture.
“Because there are going to be generations now that think movies are only those – that’s what movies are.
“They [audiences] already think that. Which means that we have to then fight back stronger.
“And it’s got to come from the grassroots level.
“It’s gotta come from the filmmakers themselves. And you’ll have, you know, the Safdie brothers, and you’ll have Chris Nolan, you know what I mean? And hit ’em from all sides. Hit ’em from all sides, and don’t give up.
“Let’s see what you got. Go out there and do it. Go reinvent. Don’t complain about it. But it’s true, because we’ve got to save cinema.”

‘It’s so good to be back!’ Danny Miller’s surprise Emmerdale return left co-stars shocked

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Miller was given two code names on ‘Emmerdale’ scripts to ensure his surprise comeback was kept under wraps.
The 32-year-old star returned to the Dales this week as his alter-ego Aaron Dingle was revealed as the mystery character who was being held captive at Wylie’s Farm, and Danny has told how his code names even fooled co-star Dominic Brunt, who thought a new character was going to be introduced to the ITV soap.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I am excited to finally be able to talk about my return to Emmerdale playing Aaron.
“It’s so good to be back permanently. Everyone wanted to keep it a secret and I loved this idea, so I was given two code names on the scripts – Albert Jones which I am guessing they got from my wife’s maiden name and son, and then Wylie Smith is the other alias as he starts at Wylie Farm.
“And you would be surprised how many people didn’t clock on to who it was at first!
“Dominic, who plays Paddy, said to me, ‘I didn’t understand who this Wylie was. I thought Chas had another son who they brought back!’
“‘It’s soap isn’t it? It is believable a long-lost son comes back into it!’ ”
Danny has told how he got the call about returning to ‘Emmerdale’ just after he and his wife Steph found out they were expecting their second child, daughter Edith, who was born in August.
The actor – who also has son Albert, 23 months, with Steph – added: “When I got the call, we had just found out secretly we were expecting number two and I don’t know if its karma but I do believe everything happens for a reason. It sounds cringey but I feel like the stars were aligned.”
Danny wrote on Instagram on Monday night (09.10.23): “So the secret is FINALLY out
Sorry to all my friends and family for lying about where I’ve been the last 8 weeks but once again…
AARON IS BACK! @emmerdale
But this time everything is different, including me and him..
Buckle up.. (sic)”

Big Brother’s Hallie to buy a vagina if she wins 100k prize after revealing she is a trans woman

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Big Brother’ star Hallie would love to buy a “designer vagina” if she scoops the show’s £100,000 prize, after revealing to her housemates she is a transgender woman.
During Monday night’s (09.10.23) episode of the ITV2 show, Hallie announced to her housemates that she is transgender, admitting she wasn’t being “100 per cent authentic” to herself by not telling them.
She said: “Hey guys, I just have something to say. Yesterday I feel like I wasn’t being 100 per cent authentic in myself.
“I thought I’d let everyone know I’m trans, if you didn’t know already. I just thought I’d make that loud and clear. I’m a trans woman if you didn’t know.”
Hallie was praised by several of her housemates, including Chanelle, who called her “very brave”.
Later in the episode, the 18-year-old youth worker told fellow housemates Kerry and Jenkin that she would be prepared to spend £30,000 of the £100,000 prize money on Feminising Genital Surgery if she were to win the series.
She said: “If I win I’m going to get a vagina. Designer vagina. And I’m going to pay my mum back for all the years she paid for my treatment.”
When asked how much that might cost, she said: “Like 30 grand. The mind doesn’t match the body.
“That’s the best way to describe being trans.
“I have a female mind, but the body doesn’t match.”
Before entering the famous abode, Hallie admitted she was taking part in the show “just for fun”.
When asked what made her apply for the rebooted series, she said: “Just the whole experience. I feel like ‘Big Brother’ is the biggest social experiment and I want to be a part of it.
“It’s about getting my face out there and just having fun, enjoying life.
“I’m only 18 so I didn’t grow up watching it but as I got older, I would watch clips on YouTube and stuff, so I’ve been a fan. And yeah, just for fun, really?”

‘We have four hours 10 minutes’: Ridley Scott’s Napoleon director’s cut will be released on Apple TV+

OHMYGOSSIP — Ridley Scott’s four-hour ‘Napoleon’ director’s cut will be released to streaming audiences.
The 85-year-old director has confirmed that an extended version of his upcoming historical epic – which features Joaquin Phoenix as the French emperor – will be available to viewers on Apple TV+ once the picture has been released in cinemas.
Ridley told Total Film magazine: “I’m working on it. It was four (hours) 10 (minutes) this morning. And so what will happen is, we’ll screen (the theatrical cut) first with Sony, and then it has its run, and then the perfect thing is that (the director’s cut) goes to streaming, and we have four hours 10 minutes.”
The ‘Blade Runner’ director also revealed that he managed to shoot the period film in just 62 days, incorporating the staging of six epic battles.
Ridley explained: “Every scene is geometry. By having 11 to 14 cameras, we shot ‘Napoleon’ in 62 days. I’m doing ‘Gladiator 2’ now in 54 days, because I’m not doing 50 takes with one camera, on one shot, and then turning around.”
The filmmaker reunites with ‘Gladiator’ star Phoenix in the new movie and explained that the actor’s Oscar-winning performance in ‘Joker’ persuaded Scott to cast him as the controversial military leader.
He said of the 2019 film: “I’m staring at Joaquin and saying, ‘This little demon is Napoleon Bonaparte’. He looks like him.
“With ‘Napoleon’, I think we dug in and found the character, or as close to what he may have been. Joaquin is probably the most special, thoughtful actor I’ve ever worked with.”
Scott compares Napoleon to the Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler but says that he was “extraordinary”.
The ‘Alien’ director said: “I compare him with Alexander The Great. Adolf Hitler. Stalin.
“Listen, he’s got a lot of bad s*** under his belt.
“At the same time, he was remarkable with his courage, and in his can-do, and in his dominance. He was extraordinary.”

Guillermo del Toro’s unmade Star Wars film was about Jabba the Hutt

OHMYGOSSIP — Guillermo del Toro’s unmade ‘Star Wars’ movie was about Jabba the Hutt.
The 59-year-old director revealed last month that he nearly made a film in the long-running sci-fi franchise and has now confirmed that the project would have centred on the obese antagonist.
Del Toro told Collider: “We had the rise and fall of Jabba the Hutt, so I was super happy.
“We were doing a lot of stuff, and then it’s not my property, it’s not my money, and then it’s one of those 30 screenplays that goes away.
“Sometimes I’m bitter, sometimes I’m not. I always turn to my team and say, ‘Good practice, guys. Good practice. We designed a great world. We designed great stuff. We learned.'”
The ‘Nightmare Alley’ filmmaker isn’t upset about failing to get his ‘Star Wars’ project made and he tries not to dwell on unrealised projects.
Del Toro explained: “You can never be ungrateful with life. Whatever life sends you, there’s something to be learned from it.
“So, you know, I trust the universe, I do. When something doesn’t happen, I go, ‘Why?’ I try to have a dialogue with myself. ‘Why didn’t it happen?’ And the more you swim upstream with the universe, the less you’re gonna realise where you’re going.”
David S. Goyer – who has written superhero movies including ‘Batman Begins’ and ‘Man of Steel’ – initially divulged the existence of Del Toro’s ‘Star Wars’ flick last month.
He told the Happy Sad Confused podcast: “I wrote an un-produced ‘Star Wars’ movie that Guillermo del Toro was going to direct. That was about four years ago.
“There was a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff going on at Lucasfilm at the time. It’s a cool script… you have to ask him about it.”

“We feel so so lucky!! and have two very excited big brothers waiting to meet you this was So Special !!! Xx @jmceachran10 (sic)”
Lillie Lexie and Josh got engaged in 2021 when the Oxford United star got down on one knee during her 30th birthday celebrations on a romantic getaway in London.
Breaking the news to her followers, she captioned a string of snaps from their city break: “Of course I said YES!!!! I really am so Lucky.
“Thank you So much for the most incredible weekend. You still manage to Surprise me and get more amazing by the day! love you so much my Fiancé @jmceachran10. (sic)”
The reality star first shot to fame in 2016 on the MTV dating show, on which she confronted her ex, ‘Geordie Shore’ star Gaz Beadle, 35.
At the time, Lillie told Daily Mirror newspaper about her romance with Gaz: “I don’t think either of us ever really dealt with our break-up. That’s why I want to do the show, so we could iron everything out.”
Lillie ended up meeting Stephen Bear, 33 – who was sentenced to 21 months in prison in March for voyeurism and two counts of “revenge porn” against ‘Love Island’ star Georgia Harrison, 28 – but they split up after she confronted him during ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ 2016, after Bear was unfaithful with Chloe Khan during the series.

‘The world is so vast’: David Gordon Green has lots to explore in The Exorcist trilogy

OHMYGOSSIP — David Gordon Green hopes to build a “road map” for ‘The Exorcist’ franchise.
The 48-year-old director is helming ‘The Exorcist: Believer’ – the first in a new trilogy of horror films – and believes there is a wide scope to explore on the theme of supernatural possession.
Asked if he would be directing all three movies, David told Collider: “The idea is we built a road map that I think has so many different avenues that we could take.
“The world of exorcism and possession is so vast. The world of spirituality is so curious to me that there are so many questions that I have.
“As the movie finds itself existing in the world over the next few weeks, I think a lot of those questions will be answered.”
The new flick is a direct sequel to William Friedkin’s original 1973 picture ‘The Exorcist’, considered to be one of the greatest horror movies ever made, and Green wanted to do the series justice with his new adaptations.
The ‘Halloween Ends’ director said: “I’m always my own worst critic, and putting pressure on myself that may or may not be the healthiest.
“But to me, it’s trying to bring an integrity to a franchise that means a lot to me as a movie geek. So, just get the right team together, work your a** off, and make a movie.”
The filmmaker also explained that he does not want to have a rigid structure when making the movies.
Green said: “When there’s an opportunity or an improvisation or a detour that feels appealing or a sparkly light over there, I wanna make sure I’m not so meticulously locked into a structure or concept that I can’t deviate.
“Because so many things that I love about making movies are those opportunities that arise in frustration, or it’s raining, and you were looking for the sunshine, and then what you find is so amazing. Those adventures can be so creative for me.”

‘After lunch I’d be 14 years old’: Cailee Spaeny shot Priscilla out of sequence

OHMYGOSSIP — Cailee Spaeny had to shoot ‘Priscilla’ “out of order”.
The 26-year-old actress stars in the title role in Sofia Coppola’s new biopic about Priscilla Presley and explained how chronology was an afterthought as the movie was filmed on a tight deadline of just 30 days.
Speaking at the film’s New York Film Festival premiere on Friday (06.10.23), Cailee said: “We shot it in 30 days and also out of order, so I’d be pregnant in the morning, and then after lunch I’d be 14 years old.”
The movie is based on Priscilla’s 1985 memoir ‘Elvis and Me’, which details her relationship with the King of Rock and Roll – from their first meeting in 1959 when Priscilla was just 14 to their eventual divorce – and Cailee was grateful to have the chance to pick the brains of the woman herself.
The ‘Vice’ star explained: “I got really lucky to actually sit down with Priscilla herself and ask her all the questions I wanted to.
“(It helped me) know where I was trying to go and what I wanted to say throughout those years playing her.”
Jacob Elordi stars as Elvis in the movie and detailed how he attempted to remove the “mythology” associated with the music icon.
The Australian actor said: “I think the first thing was disabling the mythology and intending to play (Elvis) as a human being and a person who was given a certain set of circumstances.
“So the whole thing the whole time was just trying to walk the tightrope between being one of the most famous people in the world and a human being at the same time, and being honest with the love.”

Chris Rock to direct Martin Luther King Jr. biopic

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Rock is set to direct a Martin Luther King Jr. biopic.
The 58-year-old comedian and actor is in final talks to helm and produce the new movie about the celebrated civil rights campaigner that also has Steven Spielberg involved as an executive producer.
Universal Pictures is backing the picture after optioning the rights to Jonathan Eig’s biography ‘King: A Life’.
The book has been described as the definitive biography of the civil rights leader – who was assassinated in 1968 – and uses new FBI information and hundreds of interviews to portray King as a “courageous but emotionally troubled individual who demanded peaceful protest while grappling with his own frailties and a government that hunted him”.
Universal’s Ryan Jones will oversee production on the untitled movie on behalf of the studio and the project is being produced by Spielberg’s Amblin Partners.
It is currently in the early stages of development and casting news is yet to be announced.
Rock has previous experience as a director after helming the movies ‘I Think I Love My Wife’ and ‘Top Five’ but this will be his biggest project yet.
The star was infamously slapped by a furious Will Smith at the Oscars last year after making jokes about the ‘King Richard’ star’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith and is said to be keen to “move on” from the incident after addressing it in his Netflix special ‘Selective Outrage’.
An insider told Entertainment Tonight: “He said everything he wanted to say. It was funny, self-deprecating, and thought-provoking. Now, Chris is ready to move on.”

Steve Coogan knew the risks of playing Jimmy Savile in The Reckoning

OHMYGOSSIP — Steve Coogan was aware of the “potential for catastrophic failure” in playing Jimmy Savile.
The 57-year-old star portrays the paedophile TV presenter in the controversial BBC drama ‘The Reckoning’ and was fully aware of the pitfalls of playing a man who was unmasked as one of Britain’s most notorious sex offenders following his death in 2011.
Coogan told BBC News: “I felt like there’s probably a handful of people in this country who could play the part, and I did consider myself one of them.
“It wasn’t enjoyable, it was a professional challenge that I wanted to take on… I knew there was the potential for catastrophic failure if you get it wrong, but that’s not a reason not to do it.”
‘The Reckoning’ tells the story of Savile’s career and examines why he never faced the consequences for his abuse and Coogan hopes that the drama prevents something similar from happening again.
The Alan Partridge creator said: “To bring him to life again is to learn about how these things happen. To stop that happening again.”
Coogan continued: “You have to show the things that perhaps initially seem counterintuitive. He was charismatic, undoubtedly, because that was part of the Trojan horse that he created, to go about his sexual assaults.
“He created, over 30 years, quite an elaborate machine… which served him very well. And the court jester character that he created was his armour. It was very difficult, even for very reputable journalists, to pierce that armour.”
Coogan has previously done comedic impressions of Savile but knew he had to play the abuser differently in the show.
He said: “I’ve got quite a good ear, and as an actor I didn’t really treat Jimmy Savile differently from any other role.
“I’m a professional being hired to do a job, and that means to not do something which has any kind of caricature or comedic content, or to render him some pantomime villain, which would be a disservice to the survivors and victims.”

BBC deny Top Gear axing reports

OHMYGOSSIP — The BBC had denied reports that ‘Top Gear’ has been axed.
It had been reported that production staff on the motoring show had been told by the corporation to look for other work after the horrifying crash that almost killed presenter Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff at the programme’s Dunsfold Aerodrome test track last year.
The future of ‘Top Gear’ was left in doubt after the incident although the BBC have rejected claims that the programme has been axed after 46 years.
A spokesperson said: “A decision on the timing of future ‘Top Gear’ shows will be made in due course with BBC Content.”
Former England cricketer Flintoff, 45, suffered facial injuries and broken ribs after his crash last December and a source suggested that the BBC felt it would be in “bad taste” to continue making the show – which is also hosted by Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: “‘Top Gear’ has been an institution on British telly but the feeling is there is no way it can continue after Freddie’s crash.
“The BBC are aware they very nearly lost a presenter’s life while filming a segment, and there’s a feeling it would be in bad taste to continue making such dangerous material.
“It’s a tough decision but they know deep down it’s the right one as hardcore fans of the show won’t want to see a lightweight version.”
‘Top Gear’ first aired on the BBC in 1977 but became a global success when Jeremy Clarkson and producer Andy Wilman revived the programme in 2002.
Clarkson – along with co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May – left the show following a fracas with a producer in 2015, with the current presenting trio formed four years later.

Nikita Kanda doubts that the Strictly curse will hit her

OHMYGOSSIP — Nikita Kanda thinks her mum will prevent her being hit by the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ curse.
The BBC Asian Network presenter explained that she has been bombarded with messages about her mother Renu after her family were shown in the audience of the dance competition and isn’t getting any attention herself.
Nikita is quoted by The Sun newspaper as saying: “I think my mum’s got more attention than me at the moment!
“It’s quite funny, all the messages about how young she looks but it’s been that way since we were in school, so we’re used to it really.
“On my radio show people were texting in as well, saying, ‘Say hi to your mum from me’.”
Nikita has been single for seven years and joked about finding love when she first signed up for ‘Strictly’ although she hasn’t had any luck yet.
The 28-year-old star said: “Nothing! Nothing in my DMs at all!”
However, Nikita – who is dancing with Gorka Marquez on the programme – says she is too busy for romance because of her ‘Strictly’ and radio commitments.
She said: “I’m not gonna have time for that anyway, I only get to see my family now on the weekend.
“But I’m used to the routine of getting up early. So I’m up for the breakfast show and then go straight to training after that, because I’m already up, I’m awake. I’ve got energy. I just want to push through the day and then when I get home, I can relax and go to sleep around 10.”
