Taika Waititi never thought he’d make a sports film

OHMYGOSSIP — Taika Waititi never thought he’d make a sports film.
The 48-year-old filmmaker’s latest project, ‘Next Goal Wins’ tells the story of Michael Fassbender as Dutch-American coach Thomas Rongen as he looks to improve the results of the American Samoa national football team – ranked as one of the weakest teams on the planet – and he admitted he didn’t do a lot of research about soccer.
Discussing how he never thought he’d make a sports movie, he told Empire magazine: “Especially not about a sport that I’m not passionate about.
“I love watching the games, I just don’t follow any teams, I don’t care about who’s playing.
“My main thing was to represent the players and the people of the Pacific Islands more.
“Which is my roundabout way of explaining why I didn’t do research.”
Because of the poor form of the American Samoan team, Taika discouraged his cast from practicing their ball skills.
He said: “They’re bad football players who are not acting.
“A lot of the time when they’re trying to kick the ball in the net, that’s just them trying their hardest.”
But as the shoot went on, producers Mike Brett and Steve Jamison – who also made the 2014 documentary the film is based on and went on to coach the American Samoa side – did help the cast to improve their footwork over time, in a case of life imitating art.
Taika said: “They taught the actors where they’d be, how to kick the ball, where to kick it – they broke the whole thing down.
“It was really amazing.
“Oh my God, it’s too many layers.”

Holly Willoughby planning Dancing On Ice return

OHMYGOSSIP — Holly Willoughby is still planning to host ‘Dancing On Ice’.
The 42-year-old presenter stepped down from ‘This Morning’ after 14 years earlier this week, days after it emerged she’d been targeted in an alleged kidnap plot, but insiders have reassured fans the blonde beauty isn’t walking away from her other projects and will be back at the helm of the skating show in January, with her former ‘Ministry of Mayhem’ co-host Stephen Mulhern expected to replace Phillip Schofield.
A source told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: “Holly has told pals she wants to do ‘Dancing on Ice’. In spite of her decision to walk away from ‘This Morning’, she’s still part of the ITV family and loves the show.
“The last few weeks have been really difficult for her, and her team have avoided any formal discussions about work because she has been through so much lately. While Holly has understandably struggled with recent events, she is trying her best –with the help of family and friends – to look forward and to be positive.”
Show bosses have told Holly there is no rush or pressure to get back to work as the cast for ‘Dancing On Ice’ has been announced.
An ITV insider said: “Holly is a much-loved part of the Dancing on Ice team. We would, of course, be thrilled to have her hosting the show in January, if she feels the time is right.”
Holly announced her departure from ‘This Morning’ on Instagram earlier this week.
She wrote: “I have let ITV know today that after 14 years, I will not be returning to ‘This Morning’.
“To everyone who has ever worked on the show over the years, thank you so so much. This is such a difficult goodbye, you are incredible and I forever will be proud of what we’ve done together. Thank you to everyone at ITV for being supportive. To every guest who has sat on our sofa, thank you.
“Most of all, thank you to the wonderful viewers. You’ve been so loyal, so supportive and the very best company every day.”
Holly referenced former presenters, husband and wife duo Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan, who insisted the show belongs to the viewers rather than the stars who inhabit the sofa.
She added: “Richard and Judy said ‘we only look after this show, it will always belong to the viewers’.
“It’s been an honour to just be part of its story and I know this story has many chapters left to go. Sadly, however, I now feel I have to make this decision for me and my family.
“I will miss you all so much.”

Zara McDermott ‘strapped in’ to skimpy Strictly Come Dancing outfits

OHMYGOSSIP — Zara McDermott gets “strapped in” to her ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ costumes.
The ‘Love Island’ star – who dances with Graziano di Prima on the Latin and ballroom show – is happy to wear skimpy outfits on the programme and puts her trust in the wardrobe department to choose the right thing and ensure she doesn’t accidentally flash any extra flesh.
She told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “You are literally strapped in, so nothing pops out. You do a dress run before to make sure that everything stays perfect.
“I’m definitely happy to wear whatever the team decides is right. Hopefully that body confidence will grow week on week.
“I’ve never used my body in this way. I’ve never danced before, so this is a massive step out of my comfort zone. I’m just happy to see what they create for me each week.”
While the 26-year-old beauty is a regular gym goer, she was shocked by just how tough training for the show would be.
She said: “In the first week my body was in absolute bits. I know what it feels like to have muscles aching, but these are muscles that I didn’t even know existed.”
Last weekend, Zara found herself in the dreaded dance off against Nikita Kanda and she admitted it prompted a rollercoaster of emotions.
She said: “It’s strange, because you come off your dance on this huge high.
“I was so happy with myself and how I did — how we did — then reality sets in. It was scary, a really scary, grounding moment, but that feeling of getting through . . . I was crying.
“There was this wave of relief and gratitude. You can’t take any week for granted — if you start thinking about the weeks ahead then you’re never going to enjoy the moment.
“I take everything day by day. I don’t think anyone wants to leave — everyone is incredible. All I can do is work my absolute hardest. We have put in hours of training — yesterday we did 8am until 9pm — we work so hard.
“I am starting from scratch each week so I have lots of work to do. I can only be happy with how I’ve done each week and not worry about what happens next.”

Jody Cundy voted off Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Jody Cundy has been eliminated from ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 45-year-old Paralympian and his professional partner Jowita Przystal have become the third couple to leave the hit BBC show as they failed to impress the judges with their Salsa to ‘Samba de Janeiro’ by Bellini.
Jody and Jowita found themselves in the dreaded dance off with comedian Eddie Kadi and his partner Karen Hauer – who judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke all agreed to save.
Head judge Shirley Ballas was not required to give her vote but said that she also would have also chosen to save Eddie and Karen.
When asked by host Tess Daly about his time on ‘Strictly’, Jody – who celebrated his 45th birthday on Saturday (14.10.23) – said: “You know what, when I signed up for this, I thought what an earth am I signing up for and we did that first live show and I absolutely loved every second of it. And just being able to dance and do something I’ve never done before and get completely out of my comfort zone and with this amazing person. This person’s got so much energy, every morning like nine o’clock we’ve got, start of training and she’s like BAMMM, like this, she comes into the room like an absolute cannonball and she just doesn’t stop the whole day. And she doesn’t lose any faith, doesn’t lose anything, motivates me on to do more and more. So, I’ve had an absolute blast.”
Jowita said of her partner: “I cannot even describe how proud I am of you Jody, cause from day one till now, it’s enormous improvement. And I hope from now on, when you go out, when you hear the music, you’re not going to hide anywhere. You’re going to go on that dance floor and you’re going to give it all. And I hope, one day when you look back at all of this, you will say to yourself I’m proud of myself, because that will be my biggest achievement.”
Jody and Jowita will make a final appearance together on Monday’s (16.10.23) episode of the spin-off show ‘It Takes Two’, while the remaining couples will take to the dance floor again next Saturday (21.10.23) at 6.35pm on BBC One.

Davina McCall’s My Mum, Your Dad ‘returning for second season’

OHMYGOSSIP — Davina McCall’s dating show ‘My Mum, Your Dad’ is reportedly returning for second season.
The ITV series followed singles in their 40s and 50s looking for love at a retreat in a Surrey mansion and it proved a huge hit with viewers, and now a new report suggests channel bosses are going to be bringing it back for a second run.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “There was just such a warm, positive feeling around the show and everyone was thrilled with the ratings for a launch series.
“Everyone remains very excited to see how the format can develop in future.”
Davina previously insisted she had high hopes for the future of the show and was already thinking up ideas for a second season – with the TV presenter insisting a celebrity version could work.
She told the publication’s TVBiz column: “I want to present this show for the rest of my life. A celebrity version would be so good — how many single celebs are there? I’m interviewing now.”
She added: “I love watching love blossom, and it blossomed very organically and very slowly and sweetly. I’ve since been sent photos of couples. The show works, I really am Cupid.”
The new show was previously described by the host as “Midlife Love Island” but Davina has admitted it’s actually a very different concept. According to OK! magazine she recently said: “It’s my fault that it got called ‘Midlife Love Island’ – that’s what I called it in an email … I’ve been trying to burn that name ever since! “For me personally speaking, I’d rather watch the hint of love and a moment of tenderness – that’s so exciting. “Jumping into bed and s*******, once you’ve seen it, it doesn’t mean anything. This really means something – when you see people falling in love.”

The Masked Singer: I’m A Celebrity Special returning next month

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Masked Singer’ is getting another ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ special.
Former campmate Joel Dommett will return as host of the mash-up of the two reality programmes alongside panellists Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Rita Ora and Mo Gilligan.
‘The Masked Singer: I’m A Celebrity Special’ first aired last year and is to return to ITV1 next month, TVZone reports.
Katie Rawcliffe, ITV’s Head of Entertainment Commissioning said last year: “What a perfect way to celebrate the return of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! than with a unique mash-up of two hugely successful series…
“Viewers will get to enjoy all things Jungle with a wonderfully bonkers Masked Singer twist. With flamboyant costumes that pay homage to the iconic series as it returns to Australia, families will be able to play alongside our panel in TV’s favourite guessing game.”
Bandicoot Scotland founders, Derek McLean and Daniel Nettleton added: “We are huge fans of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! and are thrilled to be able to celebrate this ground breaking and hugely successful series with a special edition of The Masked Singer…
“The celebrities may think the jungle is an endurance test but singing on national TV dressed head to toe in a giant costume is no mean feat.
“They may not be playing to win food for their campmates but they will have to hone their singing skills as they attempt to fool the panel and keep them in the dark. With costumes that reflect all things Jungle, this is definitely a show viewers won’t want to miss.”

Kick-Ass reboot won’t feature original characters

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Kick-Ass’ director Matthew Vaughn has teased a reboot without the original characters.
The 2010 black comedy superhero flick starred Aaron Johnson as Dave Lizewski / Kick-Ass, a high school geek who sought to be a superhero, and a new movie is in the works with more than one instalment on the way and the potential for the original characters to join after the reboot.
Speaking at New York’s Comic Con as quoted by Entertainment Weekly, Vaughn teased: “Kick-Ass changed people’s perception of what a superhero film is. We’re doing it again.
“None of the other characters from the other Kick-Ass are in it, though we’d like to have them back after the reboot. I can’t really talk about it, but it’s fun!”
The movie also starred Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Chloe Grace Moretz, Mark Strong and Nicolas Cage.
A sequel was released in 2013 with Jim Carrey portraying Sal Bertolinni/ Colonel Stars and Stripes.
It’s not the first time the director has teased a reboot.
In 2018, he said: “We’re going to reboot ‘Kick-Ass’ and ‘Hit-Girl’.
“Look what Mark Millar is doing with the comic for clues.”
In the meantime, Vaughn is making ‘Kingsman 3’ his priority.
He said: “We’ve got to get on with Kingsman 3 because I was joking that Colin [Firth] is going to end up being a portrait on the side while Taron (Egerton) is Arthur.
“So we are working on that at the moment.”

Penelope Cruz read Enzo Ferrari’s love letters to play his wife

OHMYGOSSIP — Penelope Cruz read Enzo Ferrari’s love letters to play his wife Laura in a new biopic.
The 49-year-old actress appears opposite Adam Driver in ‘Ferrari’ which tells the story of the sports car boss’ rise to fame and she has revealed she gained a better understanding of Enzo’s relationship with his wife Laura Ferrari by reading their private letters which were passed onto her by a doctor they both knew.
Speaking during a question-and-answer session at the New York Film Festival, Penelope explained: “[The doctor] shared with me a lot of love letters [between Enzo and Laura] — letters that were not published anywhere. I got to understand so much better who she was and what this relationship was about.”
She added she felt a “big responsibility” to play Laura in the film.
The movie also stars Shailene Woodley as Enzo’s mistress Lina Lardi, and the actress agreed that she wanted to create an accurate portrayal. Shailene said: “We were all so hyper-aware of that honour that you spoke of, and just wanting to make sure that the family members of these people when they watched this movie felt the essence of them.”
The film is directed by Michael Mann, who has been friends with Enzo’s son Piero Ferrari for more than two decades and the moviemaker revealed he had a lot of conversations with his pal about Enzo’s family life.
Mann added: “There were all kinds of conversations. What was his mother like? Did his mother cook? That house in the countryside was the only place in which Enzo was in repose, in which he relaxed and became informal. He was never casual or informal anywhere else. His father never made coffee, he never shaved himself his entire life – he always went to the barber shop, and the barber shop we shoot is run by the son of Enzo’s barber. Nothing’s changed.”
The actors were able to attend the film festival screening and Q A session because the movie has been given an exemption from the ongoing industrial action by the SAG-AFTRA actors union, whose members walked out in July as part of a dispute over pay, residuals and AI technology with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers [AMPTP].

We Collide triumphs in BMW Filmmaking Challenge

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘We Collide’ has been named as the winner of the BMW Filmmaking Challenge in partnership with the BFI.
The short film has been written and directed by Jason Bradbury and has been described as “pushing creative boundaries, while highlighting stories and characters underserved on screen with heart and tenderness”.
‘We Collide’ – produced by Cheri Darbon – embraces the spirit of queercore by exploring the power of the mosh pit and finding romance in unlikely places and was declared the unanimous winner by judges Ncuti Gatwa, Terri White and Asif Kapadia.
The movie premiered alongside Kibwe Tavares and Daniel Kaluuya’s ‘The Kitchen’ at the closing night of the BFI London Film Festival on Sunday (15.10.23).
In a statement, the judging panel said: “For us, it was unanimous: we were blown away by this film that illustrates the medium of short film, yet it could easily transition into a feature film.
“In just 90 seconds, this filmmaking team crafted a world filled with specificity, told a compelling story, and took us on an emotional character journey. It was brilliantly cast, confidently scripted, shot, and directed. The impactful ‘collision’ (enhanced by brilliant sound design) gave it both narrative and cinematic intent.”
The filmmakers who entered the competition were tasked with bringing their unique stories to life in just 90 seconds through creative interpretation of the theme ‘Evolving Perspectives’.
Five shortlisted teams received a £10,000 production budget, access to 8K camera technology, support from the BFI through executive producer Caragh Davidson and mentorship from Michaela Coel.
The ‘I May Destroy You’ star said: “It’s been an honour – my role was to encourage and push them towards the brave act of trusting their instinct, it’s important for the industry to believe that any world or culture you don’t understand is by default incredibly interesting and worth investing in with development.”

Tim Miller loved his ‘freeing’ Borderlands reshoots

OHMYGOSSIP — Tim Miller enjoyed the “freeing” experience of working on ‘Borderlands’.
The 59-year-old filmmaker stepped in to oversee two weeks of reshoots on Eli Roth’s movie adaptation of the video game and was relieved not to have the pressure of carrying the creative responsibility for the much-anticipated film.
Speaking to Collider, Tim said: “It was an interesting experience to come in and do reshoots on a movie that’s not yours. It’s a freeing experience where you feel like, I’m just here to help wherever I can.”
The ‘Deadpool’ director explained that his love of video games also persuaded him to do the reshoots – which were completed with Roth’s blessing as the filmmaker was busy on the slasher movie ‘Thanksgiving’.
Tim said: “But my main reason, other than, you know, I have a huge affection for the video game industry, I want to see every video game adaptation succeed is, I’ll be honest, I wanted to work with Cate Blanchett, and I wanted to work with Kevin (Hart) and Jamie Lee Curtis.
“And Ariana Greenblatt, the young lady who plays Tiny Tina, is amazing, which everybody knows from the ‘Barbie’ movie.”
He added: “So it was a great experience all around. I was feeling a little rusty, so I was happy to get back in the saddle. This movie gets up and moves. It’s a good ride.”
Jamie stars in the film as Dr. Patricia Tannis and told viewers that they can expect a “wacky” picture when it is released next year.
The 64-year-old actress told Entertainment Weekly: “That was filmed during Covid in Budapest, and I believe it is being released next year.
“It’s a little over-the-top, it’s pretty wacky, it’s fun.”

Holly Willoughby is under ‘zero pressure’ to host Dancing On Ice

OHMYGOSSIP — Holly Willoughby is under “zero pressure” to come back to ‘Dancing On Ice’.
The 42-year-old presenter handed in her resignation from the ITV1 daytime show last week bringing an end to 14 years on the sofa after a turbulent year for herself and the programme.
When making the announcement, Holly had been absent from the series due to a man being charged with soliciting to commit murder over an alleged plot to kidnap the TV star.
‘Dancing On Ice’ is due to return to screens in January but there is no expectation that Holly needs to “rush back” to work.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “The last 12 months have taken a real toll on Holly. Everyone around her agreed a decent break from work would do her a power of good.
“Work begins on ‘Dancing On Ice’ in December with promo, but nobody wants to place unrealistic expectations on Holly and have her feel she needs to rush back, especially because nobody knows how and when the court case will proceed.”
Holly – who has children Harry, 13, Belle, 11, and Chester, eight, with her telly executive husband Dan Baldwin, 48 – revealed she was departing ‘This Morning’ “for my family” after Gavin Plumb, 36, was found guilty of planning to “seriously harm” her at a court in Essex.
She wrote on Instagram: “This is such a difficult goodbye, you are incredible and I forever will be proud of what we’ve done together. Thank you to everyone at ITV for being supportive.
“To every guest who has sat on our sofa, thank you. Most of all, thank you to the wonderful viewers. You’ve been so loyal, so supportive and the very best company every day.
“It’s been an honour to just be part of its story, and I know this story has many chapters left to go. Sadly, however, I now feel I have to make this decision for me and my family. I will miss you all so much.”
This year ‘This Morning’ was engulfed in a scandal when her former co-host Phillip Schofield quit the show after more than 20 years after admitting he lied to bosses about an affair with a younger male colleague.
Schofield, 61, was Holly’s co-host on this morning but after departing ITV he is expected to be replaced by Stephen Mulhern, 46.

‘It’s a lesser story’: Daniel Kaluuya refused to act in The Kitchen

OHMYGOSSIP — Daniel Kaluuya felt ‘The Kitchen’ would be a “lesser story” if he had been starring in it.
The Oscar-winning actor has co-directed and co-written the new sci-fi drama and explained how he had to remove his “ego” by not taking an acting part in the flick – which closed the BFI London Film Festival on Sunday (15.10.23).
Daniel told Deadline’s Breaking Baz column: “(I realised) oh, s***. I need to get my ego out of this and get out of the way.
“This film wants to be made, and this film wants to be told in the way that it wants to be told. And if I put myself into it, it’s a lesser story. That’s what I told myself.”
Daniel has spent long nights working on the project with his fellow director Kibwe Tavares and editor Christian Sandino-Taylor to make sure it was ready for the big premiere.
The 34-year-old star said: “Oh, mate, it’s been nonstop.
“We’ve just been making sure everything’s tight, making sure… there’s just no stone’s been unturned. I did all that I could to make it what it wants to be.”
‘The Kitchen’ – which features ‘Top Boy’ star Kano in the lead role – is set in a dystopian London as an impoverished community is forced to fend for themselves. The project has been in development for almost a decade and Tavares said that the creative process drove them to despair at times.
He said: “Starting something from scratch is always kind of hard, because you almost have to write a novel before you sort of write the film, so we wrote so many different versions of this.
“Some that were more futuristic, that felt less grounded; some that were more grounded, but didn’t quite have balance. It took a long time to find what the final thing was.”

Alan Titchmarsh threatens to quit TV over ‘terrifying’ cancel culture

OHMYGOSSIP — Alan Titchmarsh is ready to walk away from television rather than worry about being cancelled for something he has said.
The ‘Love Your Garden’ host has been a fixture on TV screens since the 1980s and recently saw himself come under fire for for arguing that people shouldn’t use leaf blowers on Sunday mornings because they are loud and disruptive.
It was Alan’s first experience on an online pile-on and the incident has made him question whether he wants to work in an industry where the wrong words could see you sacked from your job.
Addressing the criticism, the 74-year-old television personality said: “I was only arguing for a bit of peace and quiet. Everyone is so cross these days. I think cancel culture is terrifying. I’m avoiding the ‘w’ word. But I fear now that I’m getting too old to subscribe to all the current feelings.
“There is an ever-growing faction of people that endeavour to say you think this or that, even if that might not be what you said or what you meant. Tolerance should work both ways. And I don’t feel it always does entirely.”
Admitting the strain of adhering to political correctness could see him call time on his career, Alan added in an interview with The Sunday Telegraph newspaper: “It makes you very careful about what you say, and if the point ever came when that strain and that worry became too much, for me or my family, I think I’d say, enough. I’ll go. This is the first time I’ve ever admitted that.”
The garden guru sympathised with fellow TV stars that have had had their careers derailed due to cancel culture.
He said: “It’s heart-breaking. Particularly for their families.
“As you get older you realise it’s an increasingly fragile path, because you can so easily be misconstrued.
“There are days when I think, do I really want to be putting my head above this parapet? I’m 75 next birthday.”
Alan also weighed in on the environmental protests from groups like Just Stop Oil and Extinction Rebellion, who try to get their messages heard through extreme means, such as holding up traffic and throwing paint at artworks.
The former ‘Gardeners’ World’ host advice to the protesters is that “those who glue themselves to things must make sure that when they go home they do something useful, even if it’s just planting a plant”.

‘We are dramatizing what we are seeing…’ Hamza Yassin reveals secrets of nature documentaries

OHMYGOSSIP — Hamza Yassin has revealed that wildlife documentaries are edited to increase sympathy – especially when it comes to baby animals.
The ‘Countryfile’ presenter – who is known as Ranger Hamza for his work on CBeebies – admitted that on occasions nature shows sometimes manipulate the footage shown to heighten the experience for the viewer and add an element of danger that might not have actually been present.
Appearing at the Cheltenham Literary Festival, the 33-year-old television personality said: “The amount of times we’ll film a cheetah family, and she’s got three babies, and we just zoom in slightly and crop out the last baby.
“Then you bring in a lion and the lion goes ‘Grr’ and you think, ‘Oh, the lion’s killed the baby!’
“’And then, five minutes of drama, and we just zoom back out again and then you say, ‘Ah, it’s all a happy story.’
“’No. That didn’t happen. We are dramatizing what we are seeing.”
But Hamza insists the motivation for the edits is well intended because the goal is to get people invested in protecting the natural world and an emotional investment in animals is needed to achieve that.
He added: “I want to tell the truth. I want to say what’s happening in our world.”
In 2022, Hamza was crowned the winner of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ along with his professional partner Jowita Przystal, 29, but he previously admitted that it has been challenging adapting to being a household name.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I’m just a normal person and hearing everyone shout my name, I’m still not used to it. “Whenever I get the time I escape to the peace and quiet of the wild. Strictly has raised my profile a thousand times more than I was expecting, I’m using it to the best of my advantage and just trying to show the British public and the world how important mother nature is.”

Ex Coronation Street star Lucy-Jo Hudson needed emergency blood transfusion

OHMYGOSSIP — Former ‘Coronation Street’ star Lucy-Jo Hudson is “on the mend” after she needed to be rushed to hospital for an emergency blood transfusion.
The 40-year-old actress – who played Katy Harris in ‘Coronation Street’ – was taken to hospital last Thursday (12.10.23) due to a decline in her health, and she has now opened up on the experience and thanked the nurses and doctors at Salford Royal Hospital for their care.
Taking to Instagram, Hudson wrote: “Well it’s been a strange few days…. I’m sorry I’ve been so quiet on here… But I was rushed to A+E on Thursday afternoon needing a blood transfusion! I actually ended up needing 2, my HB levels were that dangerously low!
“But thanks to the most amazing NHS staff at Salford Royal, I am on the mend. A big shout out to Robert Jackson and Freddy, both of you made me feel so at ease and you both took such good care of me on the emergency assessment unit … as did your nurses … I can’t thank you all enough for looking after me. I’ll be forever grateful.
“Sending you all lots of love … And this is not a ‘feel sorry for me’ post, this is to make you all aware that ‘self care’ is so important in the crazy world we all live in right now. #thankyouNHS #grateful.”
After posting the update, the TV star was then inundated by messages of support from her adoring fans.
One message read: “Sending lots of love. Get well soon Lucy.”
While another sympathetic post said: “I had this last year, scariest thing I’ve ever been through. Get well soon.”
This year, Lucy-Jo left her role as Donna-Marie Quinn in ‘Hollyoaks’, a part she first played in 2018.

Charley Hull joined by stars to open LEGOLAND Adventure Golf

OHMYGOSSIP — Charley Hull has officially opened LEGOLAND Adventure Golf.
The Solheim Cup winner was joined by four Berkshire junior girls, Lucy, 12, Zoe, 11, and nine year olds Olivia and Evie to play a round on the world’s first LEGO-themed mini golf attraction on Saturday (14.10.23) and she hopes the four themed courses will encourage more young people to play.
Charley said: “I’ve had a fantastic day being one of the first to play the LEGOLAND Adventure Golf attraction and meeting the very talented Zoe, Olivia, Evie and Lucy. The girls certainly know a thing or two about golf and it has been great to see them showing off their skills.
“The new attraction is really cool and a great way to bring the fun of golf to little ones and their families. You certainly don’t get any LEGO models on the tour courses but maybe we should suggest adding a few in for next year!”
And Charley wasn’t the only famous face at LEGOLAND Windsor Resort on Saturday for the official launch party for the new attraction, as stars including Daisy May Cooper, James and Ola Jordan, Dame Prue Leith and Mario Falcone were also there with their families.
Mario shared on Instagram: “When Parker’s love of lego and my love of golf come together. Today we got to enjoy the opening of the new indoor mini golf @legolandwindsor.
“Lego + golf = FUN (sic)”
LEGOLAND Adventure Golf features four themed nine-hole courses and sits outside of the main resort so can be enjoyed either as an add-on to a day at the theme park, or as an exclusive visit.
