Angela Rippon left dripping in blood after slashing herself with skate on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’: ‘Oh no! This could not be happening’

OHMYGOSSIP — Angela Rippon needed an emergency medic when she slashed her leg with her skate on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The presenter, 79, was practising some of her choreography with her professional partner Kai Widdrington, 28, five minutes before showing her moves to the judges when her foot got caught on a sticky patch on the floor.
She told The Daily Telegraph about ending up needing emergency treatment: “When I looked down, my leg was bleeding from a cut on my right shin. The razor-sharp edge of my high-heeled dance shoe had sliced off a bit of flesh while I was doing a twisting manoeuvre. Oh no! This could not be happening.
“Immediately the ‘Strictly’ machine swung into action. The medic was called. I knew the cut was not bad enough to stop me taking to the dance floor – but not in the next five minutes.”
Nigel Harman and Katya Jones, followed by Angela Scanlon and Carlos Gu were already ready to perform, so a new running order was quickly put together, with Angela saying: “The show went on!”
She added: “The wardrobe girls were ripping off my tights. The medic was staunching the blood, and a large plaster was being attached to the cut.
“A make-up artist swiftly camouflaged the plaster, and I started to pull on new tights. Not as easy as it sounds. A trick of the wardrobe department is to stitch the women’s skirts to the main body of the underdress, so that if the skirt flies up you don’t get a flash of knicker (well, it is before the watershed.)
“So I had to be cut out of the skirt, before the tights would pull up, and then stitched back in again. Three of the fab wardrobe team were rapidly sewing, while Kai calmly assured me, ‘Don’t panic, there is still plenty of time.’
“Phew. We made it, and I loved every minute of the dance.”
Following her backstage nightmare, Angela and Kai went on to impress judges and were awarded a score of 31 – their highest yet.
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ airs every Saturday on BBC One at 6.35pm, and every Sunday at 7.15pm.

David Tennant to front documentary on classic era of ‘Doctor Who’ to mark show’s 60th birthday

OHMYGOSSIP — David Tennant is fronting a documentary delving into the classic ‘Doctor Who’ era ahead of the sci-fi show’s 60th birthday.
The actor, 52, who played the Tenth Doctor and is returning as the Fourteenth Doctor for the upcoming 60th anniversary specials, will present BBC4’s hour-long ‘Talking Doctor Who’.
It will see him travel back through the BBC archives to tell the story of vintage ‘Doctor Who’ shows, with a blurb for the documentary saying: “On the way, David compares some of his own experiences with the actors who came before him and shares special archive moments that reveal, amongst other things, how to film a regeneration, which actor was a master of modern gadgetry – including a collapsible caravan – and what the factors were that helped to decide how a Doctor selects his own individual and distinctive costume.”
The documentary, set to air on 1 November, will include archive interviews from past Doctors including the late William Hartnell, who played the First Time Lord and died aged 67 in 1975 after a series of strokes.
It will also feature Sylvester McCoy, 80, the Seventh TARDIS adventurer.
Most of the classic series of ‘Doctor Who’ will be coming to BBC iPlayer for the first time in celebration of the show’s 60th anniversary, with more than 800 episodes set to be available on iPlayer from the day David’s documentary airs.
But the BBC recently confirmed due to a rights issue the back catalogue won’t include the first story ‘An Unearthly Child’.
A spokesperson for the corporation said: “This massive iPlayer back catalogue will be home to over 800 hours of Doctor Who content, making it the biggest ever collection of Doctor Who programming in one place but will not include the first four episodes as we do not have all the rights to those.”
Returning showrunner Russell T Davies, 60, had previously said: “I’d like to thank the BBC for all the hard work to get this massive back catalogue under one roof, at long last.
“I’m so excited for new viewers – imagine being eight years old, spending winter afternoons exploring the ’60s, ’70s, ’80s and beyond.
“And we’re determined this won’t be a dusty museum – we have exciting plans to bring the back catalogue to life, with much more to be revealed!”

Sally Dynevor FAINTED when she was told she had breast cancer – while her ‘Corris’ soap character was fighting the disease

OHMYGOSSIP — Sally Dynevor fainted when she was told she had breast cancer – at the same time her soap character was fighting the disease.
The ‘Coronation Street’ actress, 60, was given the news the same day she filmed a scene in which her Sally Metcalfe ‘Corrie’ alter ego revealed her cancer diagnosis to her husband, and said it led to her collapsing.
She told BBC Breakfast: “There was a particular day in 2009, I was reading the scripts, and I suddenly had a gap.
“And I thought. ‘I’m just going to go and see our nurse and see what she thinks’, because I felt something very, very tiny.
“When (the doctor) told me, ‘You have breast cancer’, I fainted.
“Then I said, ‘I think you’re getting me mixed up with my character.’”
The actress has recovered following chemotherapy and is now fronting a campaign by Prevent Breast Cancer to improve resources to train the next generation of cancer-screening staff.
She said: “When I got breast cancer, I was 46.And I thought that you didn’t get breast cancer at 46, it was for an older person.
“But yesterday I met a young girl who was 22 when she got diagnosed. So this is really important.”
She added about how it has changed her outlook on life: “You never think that’s going to happen to you. When somebody tells you that news, and it comes really out of the blue, it’s shocking.”
Sally, who is the mum of ‘Bridgerton’ actress Phoebe, 28, as well as Harriet and Samuel, also opened up about her cancer sparking health fears over her girls.
She said: “I have two daughters. I don’t want my daughters to go through what I’ve been through so what Prevent is doing is really important.”

Steve Coogan REFUSED to shoot full horror of one of Jimmy Savile’s necrophilia crimes: ‘I was uncomfortable’

OHMYGOSSIP — Steve Coogan refused to shoot the full horror of one of Jimmy Savile’s necrophilia crimes.
The ‘Alan Partridge’ creator, 58, said the script for the BBC’s new show ‘The Reckoning’ about the serial sex attacker included a harrowing scene where Savile visits a hospital mortuary and lifts up a sheet to grope a dead body, but he got it changed after a conversation with the four-part show’s 63-year-old director Sandra Goldbacher.
Steve told a press conference about the scene, set in Leeds hospital: “There was a certain shot they wanted to do that I didn’t want to do.
“It was just a detail that I was uncomfortable with, so I had a conversation with the director and we came to an agreement on what was the most appropriate way to depict it.”
He added about the scene: “It was really disturbing, what can you say? It’s as disturbing as it looks.”
Savile was exposed as a paedophile in 2012, roughly one year after his death, with his decades-long history of child sexual abuse coming to light.
The late ‘Jim’ll Fix It’ presenter, who died aged 84 without facing justice, visited Leeds hospital so regularly he had a bedroom there.
Steve’s disturbing scene in the facility sees Savile place his hand under a sheet covering a corpse of a woman in her seventies.
At the launch, the actor said the original plan was to feature a shot he “didn’t want to do”.
Steve added ‘The Reckoning’, which started on BBC One on 9 October, has been two years in the making due to “diligent forensic application about trying to make sure all the right decisions are made”.
He said “there’s no right or wrong answer” about addressing Savile’s crimes, but added he felt a responsibility to share his “opinion about what the right thing to do is”.
Steve added: “There’s a tension between showing too much of Savile’s offences, and it being grotesque, or sugar-coating them, which is also wrong (as we won’t) see the horror of what he did.
“So you have to strike that balance – you don’t want to upset survivors and you don’t want to anaesthetise the full effect.”

‘The Crown’ actress Haydn Gwynne dead aged 66 after cancer battle

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Crown’ actress Haydn Gwynne has died aged 66 after a cancer battle.
The Tony and Bafta nominee, who played Lady Susan Hussey on Netflix’s royal drama, is also best known for her role as Billy Elliot’s dance teacher on the West End and Broadway.
She was last month due to return to the theatre, but was forced to pull out after being hit by a cancer diagnosis, and she died early on Friday (20.10.23) from the disease in hospital surrounded by loved ones.
A statement on her passing issued hours after Haydn’s passing by her team said: “It is with great sadness we are sharing with you that, following her recent diagnosis with cancer, the star of stage and screen Haydn Gwynne died in hospital in the small hours of Friday 20 October, surrounded by her beloved sons, close family and friends.
“We would like to thank the staff and teams at the Royal Marsden and Brompton hospitals for their wonderful care over the last few weeks.”
Haydn was also known for playing Camilla in Channel 4’s royal family farce ‘The Windsors’, which aired for a Coronation special in May.
The episode saw Haydn’s Camilla – who is an evil stepmother on the show – dressing herself in jewels and fur ahead of the crowning.
Haydn’s role in ‘Billy Elliot the Musical’ earned the star her Tony and Bafta nominations.
Born in Sussex in 1957, she attended the University of Nottingham where she studied sociology, and took a five-year lectureship in Italy at the University of Rome La Sapienza where she taught English as a foreign language.
Her first acting role was playing feminist lecturer Dr Robyn Penrose in the BBC mini-series version of novelist David Lodge’s ‘Nice Work’ in 1989.
Haydn went on to appear in the 1991 Children’s ITV science-fiction series ‘Time Riders’ and ‘Peak Practice’.
She also had roles in ‘Merseybeat’ in 2001 played Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in ‘The Audience’.
Haydn lived in London with her partner Jason Phipps and their two sons.
In 2015, she told the Daily Mail about how she initially worried about what her dad would think of her going into acting: “Partly I was unsure what my family would think. My father was a Barnardo’s boy and I was worried he’d think I was wasting my talents.
“I also felt because I hadn’t been to drama school an acting career was impossible, and that if I didn’t work abroad after university then I never would, so I went to Italy.
“Yet the notion wouldn’t go away and when I was offered two jobs simultaneously, I refused both and went to New York on a whim.”
The actress said just after she watched the original production of ‘Nine’ at the 46th Street Theatre in the city, she felt a moment of calm and realised what she wanted to do with her life.
She added: “It was a huge relief and my father was very supportive.”

Jeremy Clarkson’s girlfriend despised ‘disgusting’ Cubans he wore to make him taller than her when she wore heels

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeremy Clarkson’s girlfriend loathed the “disgusting” Cuban heels he wore to make him taller than her when she was in heels.
The ‘Clarkson’s Farm’ host, 63, has been dating model Lisa Hogan, 51, since 2017 and she has now revealed the 6ft 4in-tall host was so uncomfortable she stood at 6ft 2in in her shoes he stuck on the footwear to increase his height.
Lisa was quoted by the Daily Star saying: “We’d just started dating and he was going to meet some incredibly good friends of mine.
“He gets these disgusting, really long, pointed Cuban hells.
“I go, ‘You’re not wearing those.’ And he goes, ‘I am, because I’m taller.'”
The couple have been the heart and soul of Amazon’s ‘Clarkson’s Farm’ series, which documents the turbulent experiences Jeremy has as a farmer in the Cotswolds, Oxfordshire.
The show has proved to be a smash-hit for the streaming platform, with a third season currently in the works.
When ‘The Grand Tour’ star was asked why he thought the programme was such a success during an interview with South West Farmer, Jeremy said: “The show came out shortly after the Covid pandemic, and around that time a lot of people toyed with the idea of moving from the city to the countryside.
“There have been countryside programmes before, of course, but they tend to be quite twee.
“I really like (nature presenter) Kate Humble and people who do that kind of thing, so I don’t want to have a go, but people think of the countryside as a new-born lamb and fresh straw in a lovely, old barn. And I think my programme has shown the reality.”
The ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?’ presenter also praised his partner for being so stoic and willing to help out with the mundane farm tasks: “Nobody would ever call Lisa down-to-earth, but if you had seen her yesterday – it was absolutely sluicing it down, and blowing such a gale and my tractor, which is not small, was being buffeted by the winds.
“And the two of us were out, making this fence on the highest part of the bleakest, most wind-set part of the farm.”

And finally… Kirsty Wark is walking away from presenting ‘Newsnight’ after 30 years: ‘It’ll be a massive wrench’

OHMYGOSSIP — Kirsty Wark is walking away from presenting ‘Newsnight’ after 30 years.
The show’s longest-serving presenter, 68, will be stepping down after the next general election but will continue presenting other BBC shows including ‘The Reunion’ and ‘Start the Week’ on Radio 4, along with documentaries.
Kirsty – who according to the BBC’s latest annual report earned £280,000 to £284,999 in 2022/23, said about her era-ending exit: “When the time comes it will be a massive wrench. However, I’ll be leaving Newsnight but not the BBC.
Wark said: “Today I am celebrating 30 years presenting Newsnight.
“It is an enormous privilege to be involved in such a rigorous, creative programme with a wonderful, talented, bunch of colleagues – actually many bunches over the years, led, most recently by Esme Wren, followed by Stewart Maclean.
“There’s not a day when I don’t look forward to coming to the office, and every day I learn something from the team about all manner of things, from aspects of American foreign policy to how to make a great mojito.
“Last year I spoke to both the director-general Tim Davie and to Stewart and signalled my desire to end my three-decade run on the show after the next election, and that’s the plan.
“When the time comes it will be a massive wrench. However, I’ll be leaving Newsnight but not the BBC. I’ll still be presenting ‘The Reunion’ and ‘Start the Week’ on Radio 4, TV documentaries too, as well as finishing, finally, my third novel.
“There are exciting times ahead.”
Kirsty started in the ‘Newsnight’ role in 1993.
The Scottish television presenter has reported on eight prime ministers along with interviewing arts figures such as the playwright Harold Pinter in 2006.
Kirsty interviewed with Lord Macpherson following his inquiry into the murder of Stephen Lawrence, and in America, talked with victims of Cleveland kidnapper Ariel Castro.
She also reported and presented from Scotland after the 1996 Dunblane massacre, when gunman Thomas Hamilton shot dead 16 children and their teacher in the village primary school before turning the gun on himself.
Mr Davie said: “Generations of ‘Newsnight’ viewers have benefited from Kirsty’s authority, her razor sharp insight and her journalistic flair.
“She sets the standard for engaging yet authoritative presenting. I speak on behalf of the whole BBC when I thank her for the past 30 years.
“I’m delighted the BBC is not losing Kirsty altogether when she steps back from ‘Newsnight’, and look forward to seeing and hearing her beyond the busy political year ahead.”
The news follows claims ‘Newsnight’ is facing financial cuts, as well as the departure of its editor Mr Maclean to become BBC World News’ Africa bureau chief in Nairobi.
He marked Kirsty’s departure by sharing an image on X of a cake in the shape of the numbers three and zero, and said working with her was an “absolute joy”.
He added: “Kirsty’s announced that she’ll step down from ‘Newsnight’ after the next election. We’ll miss her massively when she does.
“Kirsty’s been central to so much of the programme’s coverage over the last three decades, but still bounds into the office each day with the energy and enthusiasm of someone arriving for their very first shift.”

Sir Patrick Stewart hated his acting in first ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’ series: ‘It wasn’t real!’

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Patrick Stewart hated his acting in the first series of ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’.
The 83-year-old played Captain Picard on the show from 1987 to 1994 and in its spin-off movies, and revealed when he watched himself back his portrayal of the space explorer didn’t feel “real” enough.
He says on Friday’s (20.10.23) ‘The Graham Norton Show’ about rewatching the episodes as research for his new memoir ‘Making it So’: “I watched two whole seasons of ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’, and I was very disappointed in my quality and nature of my work in the first series – it was not real enough. “It was very authoritarian and very commanding but was way too stentorian.
“It was my stage background, and it didn’t work.”
He added on the show about improving: “In the second series I was much better because I had been working with very good American actors.
“I watched what they did and played it with the same openness and freedom.”
Patrick appears on Friday’s ‘Graham Norton Show’ alongside guests including Ralph Fiennes and Dame Joan Collins.
Patrick also recently revealed going bald destroyed his early love life.
He totally lost his hair in his late teens and says girls his age when it happened didn’t want to date a boy with a “few bristles” on his head.
He told the ‘Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend’ podcast in a chat to promote his autobiography: “It wasn’t easy in my late teens to find that I was losing my hair. Losing my hair felt like a failure.
“And also, dating… who wants to go out with an 18-year-old who’s just got a few bristles?”
But Sir Patrick has said he recently found out his third wife Sunny Ozell, who is nearly 40 years his junior, was always attracted to bald men even in her teens.
He said: “As luck would have it, my wife and I had this conversation only a couple of days ago.
“She admitted to me that she had always been attracted to bald men, from her teenage years.
“I said, ‘Oh, at last! I now understand why you had the nerve to let me take you out.’”
He tells in his memoir ‘Make it So’ how he spent years trying to find a solution to regrow his hair when he started to lose it from the age of 17, before he went totally bald a year later.
The actor also told the Daily Mirror: “I was rapidly losing my hair, and I wanted to be able to pay for treatment at a hair clinic in Bristol.
“The more hair I lost, the more attention I paid to the clinic. Finally, one day, I screwed up the courage to walk in and have a chat with the people inside.”
At 17, Sir Patrick star got a job bricklaying so he could pay for a hair regrowth treatment he had seen advertised while walking to school.
But he admitted about how they failed to work: “I must have had three or four sessions, which involved the placing of electrode patches on my scalp, some massaging by hand, and the application of various creams.
“But it was hopeless. By the age of 19, I was as bald on top as I am now.”
‘The Graham Norton Show’ is on BBC One, Friday 20 October, at 10.40pm, and is available on BBC iPlayer.

Amanda Abbington pulls out of Strictly for medical reasons

OHMYGOSSIP — Amanda Abbington has pulled out of this weekend’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ for medical reasons.
The ‘Sherlock’ actress will not perform on Saturday’s (21.10.23) show alongside partner Giovanni Pernice but hopes to return next week.
Speaking on ‘It Takes Two’, former ‘Strictly’ dancer Janette Manrara said: “We have some breaking news, unfortunately due to medical reasons, Amanda will not be taking part in ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ this weekend.
“‘Strictly Come Dancing’ protocols mean that all being well, Amanda and Giovanni will return the following week. Amanda, we hope you get well soon my love, sending you all the best wishes.”
A Strictly spokesperson confirmed 49-year-old Amanda’s absence, saying: “Due to medical reasons Amanda Abbington will not be taking part in ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ this weekend.”
Meanwhile, last month, Amanda and Giovanni downplayed reports of a rift between them.
They both took to Instagram separately to shower each other with praise after it was reported that they had not been getting on.
Amanda posted a picture of herself smiling and wrote: “The smile you give your pro partner at the end of the camera rehearsal when you know you are in safe and hugely talented hands…
“@giovannipernice ya legend. See you all tomorrow.”
Giovanni shared her story and wrote: “I usually don’t say these things early (as probably everybody know) but I’m extremely proud of you and I can’t wait for people to watch what we have created.”
The posts came after it was claimed that Amanda was finding Giovanni to be a tough trainer.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Giovanni is a hard taskmaster and takes the competition very, very seriously.
“Sometimes his manner is incredibly brusque and this can upset his partners.
“Amanda was really looking forward to dancing with him, but has found his aggressive training style and attitude pretty difficult to handle.”
A source close to Giovanni, 33, added: “Amanda has had a lot going on and Giovanni found it frustrating that she was struggling to fully commit to rehearsals.
“He is a perfectionist and when a celeb partner is 100 per cent committed, he knows he can get the best out of them and the partnership will fly — just look at his and Rose [Ayling-Ellis] experience on the show.”

‘The way people appeared on set – that was extraordinary’: Robert Carlyle reveals what it’s like on a Bond film set

OHMYGOSSIP — Robert Carlyle has revealed random stars appeared on the James Bond set.
The 62-year-old actor played Victor ‘Renard’ Zokas, a former KGB agent turned high-tech terrorist, alongside Pierce Brosnan’s 007 in 1999’s ‘The World Is Not Enough’, and he very nearly told former England goalkeeper David Seaman to move out of the way when he was shooting a scene with the lead star.
He told Total Film magazine: “It kind of felt like you were working for MI6! The way people appeared on set – that was extraordinary.
One day, I was in a scene with Pierce Brosnan, and I noticed that this person was quite close as we were in the middle of a take. I was distracted by this. I was going to turn around and go, ‘Excuse me.’ And it’s f****** [footballer] David Seaman, standing there!”
The ‘Beach’ actor admits he struggled to get roles after being typecast as a villain for his portrayal of Begbie in Danny Boyle’s 1996 black comedy classic ‘Trainspotting’, but that changed after he starred in 1977’s comedy ‘The Full Monty’ as former steelworker Gary ‘Gaz’ Schofield.
He said: “Obviously, I was delighted with the success of Trainspotting. But for about four or five years after that, the scripts coming through were like Begbie 1, Begbie 2, Begbie 3…
I thought, ‘I can’t get stuck here?’ I was lucky that the next thing I did was The Full Monty. I was seen as an actor, rather than just someone who plays a villain.”
However, he has reprised the role of the psycho in an upcoming TV version of Irvine Welsh’s ‘Trainspotting’ sequel ‘The Blade Artist’.

Austin Butler shocked by Bikeriders stunts

OHMYGOSSIP — Austin Butler is shocked that ‘The Bikeriders’ got insurance for its dangerous stunts.
The 32-year-old actor stars in the fictional story about the rise of a Midwestern motorcycle club, inspired by the photography of Danny Lyon and his 1967 book ‘The Bikeriders’ but Austin admitted some of the stunts were particularly scary.
He told Interview magazine: “There’s such a trust as well, when we’d be in these groups of 40, riding bikes down a tiny road, and you’re thinking, ‘If anybody were to crash right now, all of us would go down’ And we’re not wearing helmets, riding through cornfields as fast as we can.
“I don’t know how they insured the film, to be honest. And you’re riding behind a picture car as well, it’s kicking up pebbles in your face, so you’re getting hit in the eyes with rocks. It was so visceral.
“To get to ride motorcycles through Cincinnati, through these cornfields, it was just amazing. You know what that feels like, where the wind is in your hair. You feel like you’re mainlining God.”
The movie is an original story set in the 1960s following the rise of a fictional Midwestern motorcycle club. Seen through the lives of the members, the club evolves over the course of the decade from a gathering place for local outsiders into a more sinister gang.
It also stars Tom Hardy and Jodie Comer and Austin was shocked by how funny Tom was.
He said: “It’s the roaring engines and the smell of grease that we got to be around. It was nice to go to something that felt more independent and play in that space for a bit. But one of the things I was thinking about earlier, when you were talking about that relaxation on set, was that Tom Hardy surprised me. I pictured him to be this grizzly bear, always serious. And really, he’s one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. He’d be joking around until action is called, and then go into being the most intense guy I’d ever seen.”
‘The Bikeriders’ does not currently have a release date, due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike.

Divergent author ‘at peace’ with ending of movie franchise

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Divergent’ author Veronica Roth has “made peace” with how the movie franchise ended.
After the first two movies were released, ‘Divergent’ in 2014 and ‘Insurgent in 2014, the third book in Roth’s trilogy ‘Allegiant’ was set to be split into two movies.
However, the second movie was never made after ‘Allegiant’ – starring Shailene Woodley and Theo James – failed to find success at the box office, but Roth insisted she has come to terms with how things worked out.
Speaking to PEOPLE, she said: “I just feel like it’s got to be a big, long book in order for that to make sense. I mean, breaking things in two was all the rage at the time. That was why that decision was made. But at that point, I think I always felt peace about it just because I knew the movies were taking a different track than the books, and if you change the lead up, you change the ending. So I kind of felt like at that point … I feel like that third movie, I don’t know — there’s a lot we could talk about with it. But it’s its own thing.
“It feels complete to me, relatively speaking, because what does that even mean at that point?”
After the book ‘Allegiant’ was released in 2013, Roth got death threats for killing off the main character Tris.
She said: “I listened to the series again on audiobook recently, and this was the first time I had re-experienced any of the books pretty much since ‘Allegiant’ came out, because for a while it just reminded me of the internet, intense stress. I’m obviously a lot older, and I think reading ‘Allegiant’ again I understand better why there was such a strong reaction to this, just because of having that time and perspective. It’s interesting to reflect.”

Duchess Catherine’s uncle rejected by I’m A Celeb

OHMYGOSSIP — Duchess Catherine’s uncle was rejected by ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ bosses.
Gary Goldsmith, who is the brother of Catherine’s mother Carole Middleton, was interested in taking part in the ITV reality TV show but, after holding talks with him, bosses decided not to go ahead.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Gary was well up for a stint in the Aussie jungle and taking part in the Bushtucker trials but it doesn’t seem to be happening anymore.
“Obviously, he could be a ratings winner but maybe it’s just too much of a risk.”
Gary previously wrote a scathing newspaper column about Catherine’s brother-in-law Prince Harry, after Harry lashed out at Catherine and her husband Prince William in his memoir ‘Spare’.
Writing in the Daily Mail newspaper, Gary said: “Harry has launched this precision missile at his own father, brother and niece. He has unmasked himself as the consummate hypocrite, endlessly claiming alleged breaches of privacy — then disclosing confidential conversations about highly personal matters involving his own niece. He both courts the media, granting interviews to boost his book sales, and reviles it for its ‘intrusion’ into his life.
“Few people have bought into Harry’s fractious and peevish book — and, in writing it, I’m afraid he has overstepped the line.
“Will his family ever forgive him? I doubt it.”
Gary also waded into the alleged row between Harry’s wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and Catherine over bridesmaids dresses for Harry and Meghan’s wedding, insisting that Catherine – who he refers to as Kate – was not at fault.
He said: “I honestly don’t believe this version of the ‘facts’. Kate is self-sufficient, resourceful and extremely capable. She comes from a family of doers and fixers and has an amazing support system in her younger sister Pippa and her mum, my older sister Carole, who runs her own successful business. She has taught her girls to deal with problems with calm capability, not histrionics.
“The Kate I know so well would never have caused a fuss. She’s not a drama queen; she’s not confrontational, as the book suggests. And she’d never pile more pressure on a bride. After all, she knows the tensions involved when you marry into the Royal Family all too well.”

Ruth Langsford rules herself out of replacing Holly Willoughby on This Morning

OHMYGOSSIP — Ruth Langsford has ruled herself out of the running to replace Holly Willoughby on ‘This Morning’.
The 63-year-old TV presenter and her husband Eamonn Holmes co-hosted the Friday episode of the show from 2006 until 2021 when Eamonn left ITV but she has no plans to take over full-time after Holly quit.
She told Woman Home magazine: “I laughed when I saw that report. I have no idea where these things come from.”
However, she wouldn’t rule out a short stint on the show, and insisted that Eamonn’s issues with ITV have nothing to do with her.
She said: “I don’t have to ask Eamonn’s permission to do anything, or for him me, so if ITV said, ‘Would you come and do a week on ‘This Morning’?’ and if I was free and it was with the right person, I probably would do it.”
Ruth also spoke about GB News presenter Eamonn’s health, after he recently underwent a spine and neck stretching procedure.
She said: “With any care situation – and there are millions of carers in this country – it isn’t always easy, but if something happens to somebody you love, you help them as much as you can. It’s testing but we manage as a family.”
Speaking before his operation, Eamonn told the Express newspaper: “It’s an operation that carries a 20 per cent risk of going wrong, but such is the pain and restrictions that I have been suffering for the past 18 months, I’ve decided it is a risk I am willing to take.
“In fact, it’s a risk I want to take because, at this moment in time, nothing could seem worse than the constant pain that runs through my lower back and legs.”

Angela Rippon credits anti-inflammatory drugs with getting her through Strictly

OHMYGOSSIP — Angela Rippon says anti-inflammatory drugs are getting her through ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 79-year-old journalist and TV presenter has wowed audiences with her dance moves on the BBC One show and credited voltarol and ibuprofen with helping her perform.
She told The Sun newspaper: “Voltarol and ibuprofen have become my two best new friends.
“There’s not really much time for doing anything else really — Strictly just takes over.
“It may sound masochistic but while I ache from head to toe, I’m just having the time of my life.
“I’m very fortunate, really, because I’ve always kept fit for my job.
“I know people don’t think that working in television requires any kind of physical effort, but if you do the programmes I’ve done, I’ve been on my feet 12 hours a day, literally on my feet walking 12 hours a day.”
Angela also revealed she is shocked by her viral fame.
She said: “It’s a whole new experience for me, going viral.
“The programme I’ve been working on for the past 15 years — ‘Rip-Off Britain’, which is on the air at the moment — it hardly ever makes headlines of any description.
“Then suddenly to find that I’m doing something that is giving me great pleasure and I’m having a lot of fun doing it . . . This whole thing of the internet and Instagram and all the rest of it is a world that I have never inhabited until recently.”

Tiffany Watson finding post-partum weight loss tough

OHMYGOSSIP — Tiffany Watson is finding it tough to lose the baby weight.
The 29-year-old ‘Made In Chelsea’ star welcomed her first child, son Jude, with Colchester United footballer husband Cameron McGeehan in June, but admitted “the weight hasn’t dropped off”.
Speaking to MailOnline, she said: “I was quite naive in thinking – everyone was like to me ‘oh my God if you breastfeed the weight just drops off’, but I haven’t found that to be the case because I get so hungry because of breastfeeding.
“I’m eating more than I normally would because of those levels of hunger are like completely different.
“I feel like the weight hasn’t dropped off like everyone said, so maybe my expectations were quite high with that.
“Also it’s just like finding the time to actually go to the gym which is really non-existent and when you do have an hour free it’s like ‘oh I should probably prioritise doing some work or sorting out the house’.
“It’s tough, it is tough but we’ve just joined a gym and we said we’d go together and he’d watch Jude and I’d do a class and then we’d swap, so hopefully we can stick to that which would be nice.”
And, she admitted it can be difficult to parent when Cameron is at away games.
She said: “It’s definitely a shock to the system, I don’t think I quite prepared myself. I didn’t do any NCT classes or read any books or anything, so I went into it quite blind.
“But I luckily had family around who were able to help me out in the first few weeks. I feel like it’s only now that he’s four months that I’m finding it a bit more manageable, but where it’s days when Cameron is away for football and I’m on my own, it’s tough.”
