Martin Scorsese’s Goodfellas was hated for showing ‘the glamour of evil’

OHMYGOSSIP — Martin Scorsese says ‘Goodfellas’ was hated by cinema-goers for showing the “glamour of evil”.
The veteran director released his classic mobster movie – starring Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta and Joe Pesci – back in 1990 to widespread critical acclaim and it landed six Academy Awards nominations with Pesci winning for Best Supporting Actor but Scorsese is adamant many film fans didn’t like it because it showed gangsters profiting from their crimes.
Speaking at the Montclair Film Festival in New Jersey, Scorsese explained: “It was a nightmare. People were furious. They stormed out of the theatre. It turned out to be the mob humour and the extent of the violence. The glamour of evil. That’s what they got mad at. I said: ‘But that’s what it looks like to young people growing up, and at the end, you see in the last half hour of [‘Goodfellas’] that they pay for it’. But the point is that sometimes evil is glamorous, and it is something that can be enjoyable [to watch] … sin is easy. Forgiveness is hard.”
During the talk – which was hosted by Stephen Colbert – Scorsese also mentioned actor he wished he’d worked with – naming ‘The Godfather’ star Marlon Brando as his top pick. He revealed the pair met to talk about doing a movie together, but the project didn’t pan out.
Colbert asked: “Did you hang? Did he talk?” and the director replied: “Oh yeah, he talked. He knew everything. He was a genius.”
The other actors Scorsese named as dream collaborators included Spencer Tracy, Barbra Streisand and Barbara Stanwyck.

Lena Headey has penned another movie to follow The Trap

OHMYGOSSIP — Lena Headey has already penned another movie as her directional debut, ‘The Trap’, premieres.
The former ‘Game of Thrones’ star confessed she could do with a massive budget to make her original script into a movie.
She told The Hollywood Reporter: “I’ve written a new one. It’s quite big in its [premise]. If there’s anybody out there with a cool $10 million, that would be rad.”
Lena confessed that directing is “so much better” than being in front of the camera.
Asked what it was like switching from being an actress to a director, she admitted: “F****** heaven. It’s just so much better.”
Lena continued: “Well, I always think everybody would. But actually, they don’t. A huge amount of actors have no interest in doing it. I always have — from being 17 and working in the business, I’ve always been curious and driven towards it. Everyone that loves me has known this was my desire for two decades. So for me, it was mayhem and pure joy.”
She penned her directional debut with her ‘Game of Thrones’ co-star Michelle Fairley in mind for the lead part.
The 50-year-old actress – who is best known for her role as Cersei Lannister on the HBO epic fantasy drama series – switched to behind the camera for her psychological drama about a “woman (Michelle) who has shut herself off from the world but is slowly brought back to life through her friendship with a damaged young man.”
And she has admitted she “hunted” down her former castmate and plied her with booze so she would take on the role, and fortunately, she said yes.
Lena said: “We are great mates. I hunted her down, made her drink with me, and we’ve got a lovely friendship. I used to watch Michelle and she’s such a f****** beautiful actress, and I love her face. So I wrote this with her in mind. I wanted to be able to do all the things.”
Lena’s pregnancy inspired the flick.
She recalled: “It came to me when I was pregnant 13 years ago. I was starting to panic. I was like, ‘Am I capable of loving something? I don’t know what this is.’ It makes you question love. Then when I had my baby, I wondered, ‘Is love really unconditional? How far would you go? How much forgiveness is there? Would you really sacrifice everything for another person?'”

Emma Willis to serve as a coach on new series of The Voice

OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Willis had “loads of fun” being a coach on ‘The Voice’.
The 47-year-old presenter has hosted the ITV1 singing competition since 2014 but in a shock twist will serve briefly as a judge on the upcoming series – which is set to hit screens in November – as she steps in for will.i.am during his absence.
She told The Daily Star’s HOTTV column: “I had loads of fun!” This series everyone who got up on stage was just incredible. With each person, it seemed like the
talent just got better and better. That’s a testament to the show as you have to be good to take part, which makes it nearly impossible to whittle it down at the end.”
The former ‘Big Brother’ presenter – who appears alongside music stars Anne-Marie, Olly Murs, Sir Tom Jones on the panel – went on to describe the team at ‘The Voice’ as “one big family”‘ and is pleased that the latest search for the next big singer is underway.
She said: “It feels lovely to be back. We are one big family so it’s nice to get going again. Everyone is really settled as we all know what we are doing.”
The news comes shortly after it was confirmed that former ‘X Factor’ contestant Olly, 39, had been axed from the show after five years and ‘2002’ singer Anne Marie also reportedly faces the chop.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Anne-Marie has loved being part of the show but producers want to give the series a refresh.
“ITV wants to ensure that the show pulls in teens, so they are always looking at who is hot in the music world.”
A spokesperson from the broadcaster told OK!: “The Voice UK returns to ITV1 and ITVX for a brand new series on Saturday 4th November at 8:25 pm featuring coaches will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones, Anne-Marie and Olly Murs. Details of the 2024 series will be confirmed in due course.”

‘We have control’: Francis Lawrence is working hard with Keanu Reeves on Constantine 2 story

OHMYGOSSIP — Francis Lawrence has been working on the story for ‘Constantine 2′ with Keanu Reeves and screenwriter Akiva Goldsman.
The 52-year-old filmmaker is set to helm a follow-up to the 2005 superhero movie that featured Reeves as the supernatural exorcist John Constantine and explained that progress has been delayed by the Hollywood writers’ strike and a battle to obtain control of the character again.
Francis told GameSpot: “So ‘Constantine 2′ got obviously held up by the writers’ strike. And we had to jump through a bunch of hurdles to get control of the character again, because other people had control of the Vertigo stuff. We have control.
“Keanu and Akiva Goldsman and I have been in meetings and I have been hashing out what we think the story is going to be, and there’s more meetings of those that have to happen – the script has to be written – but really hoping that we get to do ‘Constantine 2’, and make a real R rated version of it.”
Keanu had always wished to reprise his role as the exorcist and explained that he begged Warner Bros. to make the sequel.
The 59-year-old actor told Total Film magazine: “I don’t know if it was unfinished business but it was definitely a role that I loved, and I thought that Francis Lawrence, the director, did such amazing work. I loved playing that character, and I really enjoyed the film.
“I was like, (adopts ‘Oliver Twist’ voice) ‘Can I please have some more?’… I kept asking almost every year. I’d be like, ‘Can I please?’ (and) they’d be like, ‘No, no!'”
‘The Matrix’ star continued: “It’s exciting. It’s almost like an open playground that we can hopefully cook something up and play in, and I guess get out of the playground and prepare a meal, but I’m looking forward to it, and hopefully it can happen.
“You don’t know how these things go. But I’m definitely going to try my darnedest to try and realise that dream.”

Emily Blunt, Benicio del Toro and Josh Brolin want Sicario 3 return

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Blunt, Benicio del Toro and Josh Brolin are keen to return for ‘Sicario 3’.
Producers Molly Smith and Thad Luckinbill have revealed that they are planning to bring the trio back for the third movie in the action franchise, even though Blunt’s FBI Special Agent Kate Macer did not feature in the 2018 sequel ‘Sicario: Day of the Soldado’.
Speaking to Collider, Molly said: “Our idea is to get the cast back together with Benicio, Emily, and Josh, and we’ve got a great story to tell… Benicio, by nature of just working with us most recently, has been probably the closest to it at the moment.
“But we’re keeping all the talent informed. They’ve stayed close to it. Like Trent said, the strike has just slowed us down a bit on this last draft, but I think everybody is very excited. Everyone sort of knows the framework of the story and is very excited to, hopefully, get our shooting draft in order very soon.”
Brolin had hinted last year that a third movie could be made after suggesting that the project had been “written and rewritten”.
The 55-year-old star – who played CIA officer Matt Graver in the first two movies – told The Hollywood Reporter: “I just don’t know when we’ll do it. We may be 80. But it’s very much at the forefront of all of our minds. It’s been written and it’s been rewritten. So it’s out there.
“We think it deserves a third one if we can make it in the way that we want to make it. So don’t give up!”

Dawn French’s famous Vicar of Dibley puddle stunt left her in need of knee surgery

OHMYGOSSIP — Dawn French’s puddle stunt on ‘The Vicar of Dibley’ left her in need of knee surgery.
The 66-year-old actress played Reverend Geraldine Granger in the classic BBC sitcom and famously ended up submerged in muddy water when her character jumped into a deep puddle in the 1999 special ‘Autumn’ before repeating the stunt once again in the 2006 finale ‘The Handsome Stranger’.
In 2009, the former ‘French and Saunders’ star recreated the jump once again for a guest-hosting appearance on ‘The Paul O’Grady Show’ but revealed her third attempt at the plunging stunt left her knee “twisted like a pretzel”, although she initially misheard the doctor when she sought medical advice.
In her new book ‘The Tw*t Files’, she writes: “A surgeon gave me an injection to the knee with a steroid and lubricant. Eventually I’d need a knee replacement, but I could have three of these injections. I limped through life in a big vat of denial for ages, dragging my crumbly left knee about, knowing I only had two, and then one more pop.”
The comedienne went on to urge fans to always record what they are told by the doctor because she has ended up “suffering” with her knee for such a long time but revealed that she is to undergo surgery once-and-for-all just before the festive period kicks in.
She said: “That is why you should always write down what the doctor tells you.
“I have been suffering for many years for no reason. The surgery is booked for just before Christmas!”
Dawn previously explained that whilst performing the stunt on the teatime chat show, she crashed onto a concrete floor in what she described as a “disaster” waiting to happen.
She told MailOnline: “The idea was that there was a long enough drop for me to disappear into. Then some bright spark had the idea of having a shallow silicon membrane containing two inches of water on top of that. As I jumped through, the water would splash up and look like a deep puddle. But what was I falling onto? The answer is absolutely nothing. Except for 10ft below, there were two very thin crash mats in a film studio with a flat concrete floor. Any fool would know this was a disaster in the making. Any fool but me.”

Love Island’s Laura Anderson says her daughter Bonnie’s birth ‘was traumatic’

OHMYGOSSIP — Laura Anderson says giving birth to her daughter Bonnie “was traumatic”.
The 34-year-old TV star – who shot to fame on the 2018 series of ITV2 dating competition ‘Love Island’ – welcomed daughter Bonnie in September with ex-boyfriend and ‘Hollyoaks’ star Gary Lucy, 41, and explained that even though the birth was “traumatic”, it “went perfectly” because her former flame was in the room with her.
She told OK! magazine: “I don’t feel like I could have done it without Gary there. Genuinely. He was really hands-on and it was good to have him in my corner checking that things were going OK. Gary and my mum made a good team!
“I’m glad he was there because I always imagined the father of my baby being at the birth. It was 100% the right thing to do for Bonnie, for me and for him. It was important to set aside any emotional differences or any romantic issues between us because the only person that mattered was Bonnie.
“And even though the birth itself was quite traumatic, in a weird way I think it went perfectly because he was there.”
Laura – who lives in Glasgow while Gary lives in Essex –revealed that she and the former soap star tried to rekindle their romance currently, they are “friends” attempting to co-parent together.
She said: “I would say me and Gary are friends. We’re co-parenting as best we can right now and I think it’ll fall into place and make sense as she gets older. With both of our jobs, there can’t be too much routine at the moment anyway.”
The former ‘Celebs Go Dating’ star explained they tried to maintain the “fairy-tale”, but it didn’t work.
Laura said: “I wanted nothing more than for us to be a family and to be together, but unfortunately it hasn’t worked out. Nobody has the perfect set-up, even people who are in relationships. Life is difficult, and I know now it’s OK not to have the fairy-tale.”

Big Brother is doing a surprise Halloween eviction

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Big Brother’ housemates are being hit with a surprise Halloween eviction.
The ITV2 reality show has already eliminated three housemates but someone’s space on the show is on shaky ground on the spookiest day of the year amid the revelation Monday (30.10.23) will see one person booted out the door out of the backdoor without the usual live crowd fanfare.
A secret source told the Sun newspaper: “Big Brother is going to be a devil this Halloween by springing a shock eviction that will be a trick on the housemates but a real treat for viewers. The unlucky housemate will be booted out the back door and not get their big eviction moment in front of a live crowd which is sure to come as a major blow. And their old housemates are going to be stunned to lose someone in such savage circumstances.”
They also revealed that the former residents of the house – Farida Khalifa, 50, Zak Srakaew, 28, and Hallie Clarke, 18 – will be returning as “ghosts” to spook the remaining cast.
The insider continued: “The evicted housemates will be like the ghosts of Christmas past, back for a brief moment to cause tension among the gangs. It’s going to be a really nervy time for the housemates as they won’t know what’s hit them. They will also be left wondering who they can really trust.”
Hallie admitted she has no “no idea” but also that she has “no regrets” about how she handled herself but was left with “no idea” why the public had voted for her to leave. .
She revealed to the series’ companion show ‘Big Brother: Late and Live’ – which is hosted by Will Best, 38, and AJ Odudu, 35, who front the main show – by saying: “I honestly have no idea [why I was evicted]. I think we’re all strong characters, and we all bring something so different to the table. I can’t tell you why but everything happens for a reason! I’ve left the house with no regrets because I take them as lessons learnt.”

Love Island’s Faye Winter is in her ‘selfish era’ after her split from Teddy Soares

OHMYGOSSIP — Faye Winter is in her “selfish era” after her split from Teddy Soares.
The former ‘Love Island’ star is focusing on number one and is in no rush to get back out there to play the love game since her breakup from the 28-year-old television personality she met on the ITV2 dating competition show in 2021.
The 28-year-old influencer told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I’m in such an amazing, confident place in my life.
“I get to do what I want to do and I know that sounds so selfish, and I am calling it my selfish era, I think through being myself and being selfish I’m actually doing really amazing things with amazing charities and every downfall I’ve had I’ve tried to use it as a positive.”
Faye wants to be the “best version” of herself before she begins to find another partner.
She said: “Since my last relationship, I can handle my heart so I’ve not been on a single date. I don’t want to go on a date. There will come a time where I want to do that but I want to be the best version of myself and know that I’ve taken time to set myself goals and achieve them.
“That people know me for me and what I love, not what I’m like in a relationship or you know what I’m like when I’ve got a partner. I have my own personality, I have my own goals and I have my own life and I really want to focus on it. I think it’s really important. I’m 28 now, I’m not 23, 24, and some people say ‘time is ticking’ but I am not even thinking about it.
“I want to be with somebody when I’m the best version of me, right? So I’m just waiting for that time and if it comes it comes if it doesn’t, I’m going to carry on being a b***** good dog mum. I’ve discovered that us women we do not need men. We do not need them, we should just want them, we should just want them because they add value to our lives, not because we feel like they complete us or that we’re on a ticking timeframe to find someone.”

The 35-year-old TV star told the Sun newspaper’s TVBiz column: “We’ll either get a Bafta or we’re going to get cancelled.
“One scene in Florence I am really worried about. I am getting off with a French rugby player and Rob is dancing on a bar. It is just awful.
“I have got his number, of course. But I am worried about what French I was saying. We will find out.
“It is making me cringe. You never see yourself kiss someone — I might have to quit public life!”
The former ‘X Factor’ contesant dubbed the BBC Two series as “beautiful” as it showcases some of the most stunning parts of the European country’s culture and landscape.
He said: “From a travelogue point of view, it’s beautiful.
“From an art point of view, I’m sitting in the Uffizi gallery when it’s shut, just seated in front of Venus.
“We were in Michelangelo’s house and a painting from the 1600s was brought down from near the ceiling.
“This isn’t out there yet but while they were doing restoration on it, they X-rayed it and found the woman in it is naked and that the dress she is wearing was painted on at a later date.
“It was unreal. But Rob is into art. He goes to galleries and walks around for hours. I go to bars.”

Kerry Katona wants to go on Strictly Come Dancing and be partnered with a woaman

OHMYGOSSIP — Kerry Katona wants to take part in ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ and would love to be partnered with a woman.
The 43-year-old star admitted that she loved doing ITV rival ‘Dancing on Ice’ 2011 and even though the BBC One Latin and ballroom show seemed like “hard work”, she would jump at the chance and would have loved to have been partnered with former professional Joanne Clifton.
Writing in her OK! Magazine column, she said: “It seems like hard work but I’d love to do it, if I enjoy something then I’m not afraid to work hard. I loved taking part in ‘Dancing On Ice’ and I think the key is making it fun so you enjoy the experience. Joanne Clifton would be my dream professional dancer to partner with, even though she’s not on the show anymore.
Meanwhile the former Atomic Kitten singer – who is engaged to fitness instructor Ryan Mahoney – thinks it is a “shame” that ‘Sherlock’ actress Amanda Abbington has mysteriously the competition, opting to withdraw after making it to week five.
Kerry said: “Amanda Abbington has quit ‘Strictly’ and, while I don’t watch it, I do keep up with the news on it. It’s a shame she left and while we don’t know why, I think it would be physically and emotionally gruelling. I’ve heard her partner, Giovanni Pernice, is quite strict, which I’m not sure is always the way to go.”
Following her shock exit, Amanda praised her “hardworking and talented” fellow contestants, admitting it was an “absolute joy” working with them.
She wrote on Instagram: “It is with deepest regret that I had to leave ‘Strictly’. I did not come to this decision easily or lightly but for personal reasons, I am unable to continue. It was an absolute joy working with my fellow contestants, they are a beautiful, hardworking and talented group of people who I love and who I will miss seeing every Friday and Saturday and competing alongside.”

Helen Skelton looks back on Strictly Come Dancing success: ‘I was overwhelmed!’

OHMYGOSSIP — Helen Skelton was “overwhelmed” when she signed up for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 40-year-old presenter finished in third place of the 2022 series of the BBC Latin and ballroom competition alongside professional partner Gorka Marquez and explained that even though the experience initially felt quite daunting, she eventually learned to take things one step at a time.
She told Hello Magazine: “For me, it’s always about bite- sized chunks, one bit at a time. “I never think: ‘Oh my God, today is going to be mental!’ I just think: ‘What have I got to do this morning? What do I have to do in the next hour?’
“My friends always laugh as I say: ‘How do you eat an elephant? Bit by bit.’
“I think that’s applicable to anything: when I was on ‘Strictly’, I would think about how a lot of it was overwhelming. But actually, all I had to do was go to make-up and sit in the chair and then do the steps, then it was the chat. You just take it one bit at a time.”
The former ‘Blue Peter’ presenter went on to describe the show – which is currently airing on BBC One with the likes of broadcaster Angela Rippon, former ‘Coronation Street’ Ellie Leach and ‘Casualty’ actor Nigel Harman hitting the dancefloor – as “brilliant” programme for uniting people.
She said: “It’s a brilliant show for bringing people together and that just leaps out of the screen. It’s challenging, but I’m the kind of person who gets a lot out of that sort of environment and it left me
feeling so good, so buoyed and so smiley. I was very, very grateful to be part of it.”

Amanda Abbington dramatically QUITS ‘Strictly Come Dancing’: ‘Her time on the show was plagued by difficulties’

OHMYGOSSIP — Amanda Abbington has quit ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ as her time on the show was reportedly “plagued by difficulties”.
The ‘Sherlock’ actress, 49, was absent from this weekend’s BBC One dance shows due to undisclosed medical reasons – and posted on X about mental health after pulling out of Saturday’s (21.10.23) episode – but she had been expected to make a return this Saturday for the ‘Strictly’ Halloween special.
However, it was confirmed on ‘Strictly’ spin-off show ‘It Takes Two’ on Monday (23.10.23) she was exiting the show.
A ‘Strictly’ spokesperson later issued a brief statement that said: “Amanda Abbington is unable to continue in ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ and has decided to withdraw from the competition.
“The show wishes her all the best for the future.”
On Saturday night, ‘Strictly’ co-host Claudia Winkleman, 51, told viewers about the absence of Amanda and her professional dancer partner Giovanni Pernice: “Now as you may have noticed, Amanda and Giovanni are missing from the line-up.
“Due to medical reasons Amanda is unable to perform this week.”
Claudia’s fellow presenter Tess Daly, 54, added: “As per the rules of the competition she has been given a bye and all being well will return to the ballroom next weekend.”
It was reported last month Amanda and her Italian dance pro partner Giovanni, 33, had clashed, with the actress apparently threatening to quit over the dance pro’s “militant” attitude to training, according to The Sun.
Following reports of a rift, Giovanni said: “It’s a difficult process, especially for people who have never done ‘Strictly’ before.”
On Saturday, Amanda shared a quote on her Instagram stories from the late actor and comedian Robin Williams – who took his life aged 63 in 2014 – before quickly deleting it.
The post said: “People don’t fake depression… they fake being okay. Remember that. Be kind.”
Fans are filling social media with messages to say they are “devastated” at Amanda’s exit.
On Monday’s ‘It Takes Two’ show on the BBC, a montage of the actress’ best ‘Strictly’ moments were shown, before host Fleur East, 35, said: “Amanda we are sending you all of our love.”
A Strictly insider told Mail Online after news broke Amanda had quit: “This has been something that Amanda has been unfortunately having to consider making since late last week.
“It has been a devastating time for Amanda. Her ‘Strictly’ journey has been plagued by difficulties but she just didn’t think there was any other option.
“As hard as it has been, there was a chance they could have won.”
Hours before the news broke Amanda was leaving ‘Strictly’, her escapologist partner Jonathan Goodwin, 43, who has appeared on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, shared a cryptic post to Instagram about mental health.
He said alongside a picture of himself posing in the mirror: “We can be so hard on ourselves…be our own worst critics… But before you judge yourself… make sure your mirror is clean.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Gaz Beadle and Emma McVey have split after two years of marriage.
The former ‘Geordie Shore’ star admitted he and Emma – who have son Chester, five, and daughter Primrose, three, together – have gone their separate ways, but Gaz insisted there is “no bad blood” between the pair.
When asked by a follower during an Instagram Q and A if he and Emma were still together, he replied: “No we actually separated about 3 weeks ago we are still friends there is no bad blood or anything and we have worked out the best way of doing it for the kids which for me and Emma is always gunna be the most important thing … we both deserve to be happy as well as being parents. (sic)”
The news comes after the pair married in July 2021.
They finally tied the knot after they had to cancel previous wedding plans due to the coronavirus pandemic, and they were serenaded by TOWIE’s James ‘Arg’ Argent on their big day.
Arg performed a collection of cover songs for the happy couple after the bride organised the surprise for her husband.
Emma told OK! magazine: “So the thing is, Gary had no involvement in the wedding – he didn’t even want to come to the food tasting!
“But the one thing he did want was a fun wedding. I knew I had to make it good, so I got Arg down to sing for it. He got everyone going, it was really funny.
“I’ve known him for a while and I think we have a mutual friend in the hotel PR, so he said he’d come down as a surprise.”
The pair married at Merrydale Manor in Cheshire, north west England, on July 9th.
But Gaz didn’t want a “celebrity guest list” at his nuptials.
Speaking in a joint interview, he added: “I’m not gonna invite a famous person to my wedding just because they commented on an Instagram post or something.
“I don’t care to have a ‘celebrity guest list’.”

Paddington in Peru heading to cinemas in 2024

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Paddington in Peru’ is heading to UK cinemas on November 8, 2024.
The third movie of the film franchise will hit the UK more than two months ahead of the US, when the motion picture will be in theatres from January 17th.
StudioCanal confirmed the exciting news on X, posting: “How marvellous!
“We can finally reveal that @PaddingtonBear’s latest feature film, Paddington in Peru, will be coming to the big screen on November 8th 2024. #PaddingtonInPeru (sic)”
The post was accompanied by a 14-second clip of Paddington wiping marmalade off the screen to reveal the UK release date of the movie.
It read: “In cinemas November 8 2024”.
Ben Whishaw, 42, will reprise his role as the titular bear’s voice, and Hugh Bonneville, Julie Walters, Madeleine Harris and Samuel Joslin will also reprise their roles in the third movie.
But Sally Hawkins won’t be back as Mrs Brown, with Emily Mortimer taking her place.
Rachel Zegler was due to be a new member of the cast in the part of Gina Cabot, but she left filming in London to join the strike that recently brought Hollywood to a standstill, partly over fears AI will be used by studios instead of humans.
She joined fellow actors on a New York SAG-AFTRA picket line.
Zegler has since been replaced in the movie by newcomer Carla Tous.
Olivia Colman and Antonio Banderas are also joining ‘Paddington in Peru’.
The film will be directed by Dougal Wilson in his feature directorial debut. The movie will once again be produced by Studiocanal with Heyday Films following their work on the first two instalments of the ‘Paddington’ franchise.
Studiocanal’s Anna Marsh and Ron Halpern said: “We have long been huge admirers of Dougal’s work, his stunning visual creativity, his storytelling, heart, emotion and humour.
“We are so thrilled that Dougal will be directing the third ‘Paddington’ film. We look forward to bringing ‘Paddington’ back to Peru for his next big screen adventure.”
The new film will be shot on location in London and Peru.
