‘It’s been very good for me!’ Krishnan Guru-Murthy’s delight over Strictly Come Dancing weight loss

OHMYGOSSIP — Krishnan Guru-Murthy appeared on ‘Lorraine’ wearing a jacket safety pinned at the back, after losing so much weight on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 53-year-old newsreader was caught out on the ITV show when stand-in host Ranvir Singh – who was stepping in for Lorraine Kelly – spotted the back of his blazer had been pinned together to make it tighter.
Ranvir said: “Can I just say, that jacket looks very loose on you.”
She then stood up and inspected the back of Krishnan’s jacket.
A shocked Ranvir said: “It’s all pinned at the back!
“See how much weight this man has lost? It’s got safety pins down the back – it doesn’t fit you anymore!”
Ranvir then asked Krishnan to turn around and show the viewers his safety pinned jacket.
A chuckling Krishnan then said: “You weren’t supposed to see that.”
Krishnan then showed Ranvir the notch on his belt, which is seven holes apart from the one he used to use before he started his ‘Strictly’ journey.
He joked: “I’m keeping this belt forever.”
Krishnan also admitted his weight loss has been beneficial for his genetic heart condition, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a disease of the heart muscle, where the muscle wall of a person’s heart becomes thickened.
Speaking about ‘Strictly’, he said: “It’s all been very good for me.
“I came with all sorts of fears about my health and it turned out to be nonsense, and it’s all been really good for me because obviously being a bit lighter and healthier generally is always good for heart health.
“I never understood what people meant and I thought that was all nonsense when they said they had learned loads about themselves … I thought, ‘How can you learn lots about yourself doing ‘Strictly’?’
“And it turns out you can.”

Will Mellor is returning to Coronation Street

OHMYGOSSIP — Will Mellor is returning to ‘Coronation Street’ as killer Harvey Gaskell.
The former ‘Two Pints of Lager And A Packet of Crisps’ actor – who was last seen on the cobbles at the end of 2022 – will be involved in the ITV soap’s upcoming New Year’s episode as he reprising his role as the sinister drug lord.
‘Corrie’ producer Iain MacLeod has confirmed that fans will see Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths) return to win back Sarah Barlow (Tina O’Brien) as he looks to get revenge on Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson).
He told RadioTimes.com: “It’s a brilliant, exciting, high-octane story, I love those characters. They always feel really glossy and really naturally at home in this kind of big ‘Coronation Street’ storyline.
“As it shakes down, Damon’s revenge may start to take a backseat to his feelings for Sarah.
“But, just in case you thought that that was going to be smooth running from now or plain sailing from there, Adam can’t stand the idea that this guy’s back and has got his eyes on Sarah, who is, at this point, still his wife – although they are going through a divorce.
“He decides in his mind that, to protect Sarah, he might want rid of Damon, so as Damon’s calming down, Adam’s going in the other direction, and his plans to rid himself of Damon will see him pay a little visit to Damon’s half-brother Harvey, because he’s no fan of Damon’s either – and they might form this unholy alliance.”
Iain praised the actors involved in the story, which he promised will involve plety of “twists and turns”.
He added: “They have a shared problem in the form of Damon, and think they can help each other in that regard.
“It’s got fantastic actors in it, as all our stories do; the storyline is packed full of twists and turns and excitement.
“Dare I say it in this day and age, but it’s quite sexy, as well. I think that it’s got lots of intensity and passion and a whirlwind romance for Damon and Sarah.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Di Angelo is to reprise his role as EastEnders’ Dean Wicks.

He said: “It feels great to be back.
“I started at ‘EastEnders’ almost 18 years ago, which seems like a lifetime ago now.
“I haven’t been back for seven years, so I was thrilled to be asked again for the third time as I love the people and the show.
“It’s great to catch up with old friends, some of whom I’ve known since I was 18 years old, like Natalie Cassidy and Lacey Turner.
“I’m working really closely with Adam Woodyatt again, which is really great as he’s a really great guy.

“He’s reluctant because he knows the repercussions of returning, but ultimately, he has to help his family.

And Monroe herself revealed that she was also keen on working with the filmmaker again.
She said: “I don’t know where the story would go, but I would love to work with David, the director, again, because I think he’s incredible, and what he created here was something else.
“We’ll see how it does. Maybe! Maybe!”

Nigel Farage ‘seriously considering’ I’m A Celebrity appearance ‘unlike previous years’

OHMYGOSSIP — Nigel Farage is giving a potential ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ appearance “very, very serious consideration”.
The 59-year-old former UKIP and Brexit Party leader has been contacted by ITV bosses in the past about taking part in the show, and “unlike previous years”, he isn’t completely ruling out turning up in the Australian jungle next month.
Speaking on his GB News show, he said: “Several times since 2016 I’ve had ‘I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!’ from ITV saying to me, ‘Come into the jungle.’
“And they’ve always offered me really quite substantial sums of money to do so, and I have always thought ‘No, it’s probably not the right thing for me to do.’ ”
But Nigel admitted he could be swayed because he wants to “connect” with some of the 10 million youngsters who watch the ITV show.
He added: “Well, you’ve got about 10 million young people who watch that programme.
“These are people who don’t really watch the news or read newspapers, but they still care about the country they live in and their futures.
“And actually, in many ways, the futures of young people in Britain had been blighted.
“They haven’t got the same opportunities that their parents and grandparents had and they’d love to look for solutions.
“So in my mind, if I was to do it, I might be able to connect with that audience because goodness me they all watch ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ ”
Nigel’s comments come after it was reported he could land £1 million to appear on ‘I’m A Celebrity’.
A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper’s TV Biz column: “Nigel has been at the top of the wish-list for I’m A Celeb bosses for years.
“They’ve offered him a huge fee as they know he’ll drive up viewing figures. Ant and Dec will love this signing.
“Nigel’s the ultimate Marmite character and won’t hold back in camp discussions.
“It’s a real coup. The casting team has nailed it. It’s shaping up to be a brilliant series.”
It is believed jockey Frankie Dettori and ‘This Morning’ presenter Josie Gibson have already signed up for the show.
Last year, former Health Secretary Matt Hancock finished third on the series.
A spokesperson said: “Any names suggested for ‘I’m a Celebrity’ are speculation.”

Big Brother nominations revealed ahead of shock Halloween eviction

OHMYGOSSIP — Big Brother’s Olivia, Dylan, and Kerry have been put up for a surprise eviction, following a huge Halloween twist.
On Monday night’s (30.10.23) episode, Noky was “possessed” and given the chance to choose a partner in crime to join her in a secret room in the early hours, and she picked Trish, unbeknown to their fellow housemates.
The pair were then told to pick three of their fellow housemates to be put up for eviction, and one of the trio will be eliminated from the series in Tuesday night’s (31.10.23) Halloween episode, following a public vote.
In another twist earlier in the episode, the housemates took part in a seance with a Ouija board, which spelt out the names of the three evicted housemates, Farida, Zak, and Hallie.
The trio then re-appeared as “ghosts” and delivered messages to their former housemates.
Farida said: “Housemates, beware. Someone is manipulating the younger housemates, who are following them like sheep.”
The group then assumed she was talking about Kerry, which left her frustrated later in the episode.
Zak warned the housemates to beware of the “quiet ones”, and Dylan pointed the finger at Yinrun.
The former housemate said: “Housemates beware. Someone is acting all quiet but is actually whispering in people’s ears. It’s the quiet ones you need to be afraid of.”
Hallie then warned the stars about someone who is “very two-faced”.
She said: “Housemates beware. Somebody’s very two-faced. They talk about you behind your back but they’re nice to your face.”
On Monday evening’s episode of spin-off show ‘Big Brother Late and Live’, it was revealed Farida was in fact talking about Kerry, Zak was speaking about Chanelle, and Hallie was referring to Jordan.

Sydney Sweeney and Vanessa Kirby cast in Ron Howard’s Eden

OHMYGOSSIP — Sydney Sweeney and Vanessa Kirby have joined the cast of ‘Eden’.
The pair have signed up to star in Ron Howard’s survival thriller, which goes into production at the end of November, and replace Alicia Vikander and Daisy Edgar-Jones in the project.
Sydney and Vanessa join previously announced stars Jude Law, Ana de Armas and Daniel Bruhl while the celebrated composer Hans Zimmer will provide the score for the project in his tenth collaboration with Howard.
The movie, which was previously titled ‘Origin of Species’, is based on an unsolved mystery that unfolded on a remote island in the Galapagos and charts the lengths that humans will go to in the pursuit of happiness.
Howard has been keen to tell the story for 15 years – ever since he first visited the Galapagos Island where the real-life events took place. Prior to the pandemic, he teamed up with ‘Tetris’ screenwriter Noah Pink to tell the story.
The ‘Apollo 13’ director is producing ‘Eden’ for Imagine Entertainment alongside Brian Grazer and Karen Lunder as well as AGC Studios’ Stuart Ford, Bill Connor and Patrick Newall.
The producers say that the picture “explores the human condition in ways that are unexpected, absurd, humourous, sexy, but above all thrilling and deeply suspenseful”.
Production is to take place in Queensland, Australia with a small unit filming in the Galapagos.
‘Eden’ is the latest role for Sydney in what has been a meteoric rise in recent years and she recently explained that she had no intention to slow down.
The 26-year-old star told Variety: “Sometimes I love this crazy run I’m on, because I fall in love with so many characters and I want to do them all. And I love what I do. And then sometimes I’m like, ‘OK, maybe I should do one to two projects a year so I can give myself time at home with my family.’
“But I think that I’d get so unsteady. I thrive in chaos. I love having, like, five projects that I’m juggling, and I’m also reading ten scripts and three books at the same time. I love it.”

‘I thought it was a terrible idea’: Noah Baumbach feared that Barbie would be a disaster

OHMYGOSSIP — Noah Baumbach thought that ‘Barbie’ was a “terrible idea”.
The 54-year-old screenwriter co-wrote the smash hit movie with his partner Greta Gerwig but explained that he initially suspected that the project would be a failure.
Speaking at a screening at the Writers Guild of America West, Noah said: “I thought it was a terrible idea and Greta signed me up for it.
“I was just like, ‘I don’t see how this is going to be good at all.’ I kind of blocked it for a while and every time she’d bring it up, I’d be like, ‘You’ve got to get us out of this.’ And then the pandemic happened.”
Gerwig directed the movie and explained how her partner took issue with the fact that ‘Barbie’ did not have a specific narrative.
The 40-year-old filmmaker said: “‘There’s no character and there’s no story, so why do you want to do this? There’s no entry point.’
“And he’d do, like, side calls to try to get us out of it.”
Noah revealed that he was eventually convinced to help write the script for the movie – which features Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling – when Gerwig presented him with the first pages of the story.
He said: “It was Barbie waking up in her Dreamhouse and coming out to her backyard and meeting somebody who was sick and dying.
“I read these pages and I thought, ‘I understand now what this is.’ The movie is about embracing your mortality and about the mess of it all, so it was exciting.”
Baumbach says that the writing process with Gerwig was about trying to “amuse each other and one up each other” with humour.
The ‘White Noise’ director said: “Then it was the most fun I think either of us have ever had, right?
“And then at a certain point, I was like, ‘I think this is the best thing we’ve ever written.’ I know enough always just to follow what Greta says, so even in my bellyaching and revolting, I kind of knew, ‘Well if she really believes it, then there’s something there.'”

Phil Spencer’s dad’s cause of death revealed

OHMYGOSSIP — Phil Spencer’s dad died of a lung injury after a car crash in August.
The TV presenter, 53, lost his father Richard, 89, and mother Anne, 82, in the summer when they were involved in a car accident in Canterbury, Kent, which saw the couple veer off the road and into a river on their Littlebourne estate.
An inquest into Richard’s death has now revealed the 89 year old died from a lung injury after his car overturned in the river.
The ‘Location, Location, Location’ host took to his Instagram page a week after his parents’ passing to share a heart-breaking tribute to them.
He wrote: “Very sadly both of my amazing parents died on Friday. As a family we are all trying to hold onto the fact Mum and Dad went together and that neither will ever have to mourn the loss of the other one. Which is a blessing in itself.”
Phil also explained that his mother had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s, while his father was suffering from dementia.
He wrote: “Although they were both on extremely good form in the days before (hence the sudden idea to go out to lunch), Mums Parkinson’s and Dads Dementia had been worsening and the long term future was set to be a challenge.
“So much so that Mum said to me only a week ago that she had resigned to thinking, ‘Now it looks like we will probably go together’. And so they did. That was what God had planned for them – and it was a good plan. (sic)”
While he was devastated over the loss of his parents, Phil he was comforted that they passed together.
He said: “It feels horrendous right now, but after almost 60 years of marriage – to die together on the farm they so loved will, I know, be a comfort in the future. Mum Dad are together which is precisely where they would have wanted to be.”

Ex-Dancing on Ice pro expects show bosses to review safety protocols after ice hockey player’s death

OHMYGOSSIP — Former ‘Dancing on Ice’ star Frankie Seaman expects the show to review their safety protocols after an ice hockey player died during a match last weekend.
The 50-year-old pro skater – who appeared on the ITV show from 2007 to 2016 – expects the programme’s bosses to put more safety measures in place after 29-year-old Nottingham Panthers player Adam Johnson’s throat was cut by a skate during a game against the Sheffield Steelers on Saturday (28.10.23), and he later died.
Frankie told MailOnline: “I’m sure ‘DOI’ bosses will be responding to this incident by putting more safety measures in place and be taking preventative precautions.
“Safety at the training sessions on the ice rinks (outside of the studio) are pretty solitary, it’s more often than not just a pro and their celeb so I would imagine they’ll be stepping up supervision on those days.
“And hopefully reigning in the requests for the more dangerous tricks except from the more capable celebs/pro partnerships.”
Frankie admitted it is a “rare tragedy”, but insisted many celebrities don’t realise how difficult ice skating is until they start training for the series.
She added: “I’m pretty sure nobody has ever thought this could happen as it’s such a rare tragedy.
“Most of the celebs don’t realise how hard skating is until they start training.”
Last year, Frankie – who met her now-husband David Seaman on the show’s live tour – insisted ‘Dancing On Ice’ isn’t “what it was” anymore.
She told HELLO! magazine at the time: “I was very lucky because I’d just retired as a professional skater, so to then get another nine years of my career through a show that was at the height of its popularity and everyone loved was extraordinary.
“But since it’s been back it’s a different animal. I’m not involved and from what I’ve seen, that’s not such a bad thing because I don’t think it’s what it was and I find that sad.”

Driven batty! Craig Revel Horwood’s home renovation held up due to bat issue

OHMYGOSSIP — Craig Revel Horwood is being driven batty by an infestation at his seven-bed mansion.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge is planning to renovate the £1.8 million property in Peterborough, but after seeking planning permission to do so, it revealed he could have bats in the property.
As a result, Craig has had to install bat detectors and “a lighting scheme”, and he has been told that construction work on the pad will have to be stopped “immediately” if any bats, or evidence of the flying mammals are discovered.
According to The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column, A surveyor’s trouble-shooting report found: “A number of common bat species have been observed utilising the site’s habitats on a regular basis and they may be roosting in the local area.
“To avoid any unnecessary disturbance, it is recommended a lighting scheme is designed both during construction and post-development.
“Bats are sensitive to light and it is recommended that lighting should endeavour to minimise those currently present.
“If a bat or evidence of bats is found at any point during construction, then the work should stop immediately and an ecologist consulted.”
Craig is currently a judge on the latest ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ series, but last month, the star hinted he might depart the show in two years because he wants to “hang up [his] shoes and enjoy life” when he hits 60.
The 58-year-old television personality told Best magazine: “I’m working hard while I can, especially as I love what I do. It keeps me on my toes, darlings!
“I’m now the same age as the late, great Len Goodman was when he first started – that’s scary, isn’t it?!”
