Emily Atack suffered ‘several breakdowns’ making sexual harassment documentary

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Atack had “several breakdowns” during the making of her sexual harassment documentary ‘Asking For It?’.
The 33-year-old star bravely discussed her experiences of receiving abuse and unwanted advances online in the programme that aired on BBC Two in January and admits that it had a devastating impact on her mental health.
Speaking onstage at Stylist Live in London, Emily said: “To be honest, it was awful.
“The documentary coming out was a really difficult time for my family.
“There were moments I would say, ‘I don’t think I can face another day of this.’
“I had several breakdowns in the middle of it. It was rough.”
The ‘Inbetweeners’ star described it as an “awful thing” that victims of sexual harassment often blame themselves for what has happened.
She said: “The awful thing about this sort of thing is everybody blames themselves – this is why I called the documentary ‘Asking For It?'”
Emily also revealed that there have been occasions where she has been made to feel uncomfortable while working.
She explained: “I’ve found myself in awful situations, especially on film sets.
“I have had to reshape those events in my head as a coping mechanism and go, ‘Maybe that was my fault, slightly’, if a man in a position of power had abused trust.”
Emily broke down in tears during the documentary as she confessed that she felt to blame for the bombardment of unsolicited messages she gets on a daily basis.
She told her mum Kate Robbins: “I see the pain in your face when we try and talk about things.
“We can’t talk about them because it’s too difficult.”
‘Spitting Image’ star Kate replied: “It’s very difficult – the overriding feeling of guilt is a difficult one to explain to people.”
Emily then began to cry, and said: “Sorry, I don’t know why I’m getting upset I think I’m really tired. Sorry it’s just so uncomfortable.”

Amber Davies dismisses unfair advantage claims on Dancing On Ice

OHMYGOSSIP — Amber Davies has rubbished claims that she has an unfair advantage on ‘Dancing On Ice’.
The former ‘Love Island’ contestant and West End theatre star will take part in the upcoming series of the ITV skating competition next year but thinks that her background in dance will make little difference on the ice.
Amber told MailOnline: “I think people will not think that because honestly in skating I’ve had to bin half of my dance training anyway!
“Everything in dancing is keeping straight legs and you kind of have to let go when you’re on the ice.
“The only quality that I’ve got is that I can perform. I will be able to tell the story whether it’s a sad number or whether it’s happy number – but other than that it’s going to be difficult.
“But I feel like people will sympathise. At the end of the day you’re balancing on two blades – I don’t think it matters what training you’ve got.”
Amber will be paired with professional skater Simon Proux-Senecal when the show begins in January and explained that she is having trouble skating backwards.
The 27-year-old star said: “So far, it’s so basic, but it’s the backwards skating! I was so confident going forward.
“As soon as Simon said let’s go back, and because I don’t know where I’m going and every rink I’ve gone in has been different I just get the fear so bad!”
Amber – who is competing on the show alongside stars such as former boxer Ricky Hatton and actress Claire Sweeney – added: “By the end of today’s session I actually skated backwards by myself and that’s a big achievement for me!”

Nigel Harman relishes ‘joyful hours’ with Strictly Come Dancing partner Katya Jones

OHMYGOSSIP — Nigel Harman loves the “joyful hours” he gets to spend with ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ partner Katya Jones.
The former ‘EastEnders’ star is bidding to make it to next weekend’s Blackpool show with his professional partner and explained how the spend rehearsals “laughing a lot”.
Speaking to MailOnline, Nigel said: “I love working with Kats, she is so intuitive as a teacher, choreographer and person, we spend hours together and it’s joyful, we laugh a lot, and we get a lot of things done.
“She’s making me into a better dancer, I don’t know how she is doing it but she is.
“Do I find her strict? I don’t think I do, no. Sometimes I need a bit of discipline because if you’re not careful I’ll start rambling about anything just to distract her, so I don’t have to dance.”
Nigel also joked that he will find a way for the pair to perform in Blackpool, even if they are voted off the BBC show on Sunday (12.11.23) evening.
The 50-year-old actor said: “It is a landmark on the ‘Strictly’ map and it’s an important landmark for everyone. Now we are here I would really like to be part of that. Ballroom dancing has been there for over 100 years so to be a tiny spec of that history would be lovely.
“I know how the show works so if it doesn’t work out this weekend we will just go anyway and dance outside the chippy.”
The Tower Ballroom holds special memories for Katya as she won several championships there with her ‘Strictly’ colleague and former husband Neil Jones – and she is bidding to dance at the iconic venue on the show for the first time in six years.
The 34-year-old star said: “I went to Blackpool championships for the first time when I was 13, I believe… so, 20 years ago, and ever since I won lots of titles there with Neil so there are a lot of memories and tradition, love for this place, and to take Nigel, a celebrity…
“I actually haven’t made it to Blackpool since 2017, if we do that would be quite special to show them what it means for us and it’s nice that ‘Strictly’ goes there to pay that respect to the tradition of ballroom dancing.”

Krishnan Guru-Murthy leaves Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Krishnan Guru-Murthy has been voted off ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 53-year-old TV presenter has become the seventh celebrity to leave the show, after he found himself in the dreaded dance-off against Angela Rippon.
After his exit was announced, Krishnan said: “This has been the most incredible experience.
“I said it has been life changing and it genuinely has. I am incredibly grateful to the entire production team, judges, my incredible ‘Strictly’ family up there.
“It’s right that I am going out this week and I have got to get back to life.”
Krishnan also heaped praise on Lauren Oakley, his professional partner.
The TV presenter predicted that Lauren will have huge success in the future.
He said: “The thing that has made ‘Strictly’ really special is Lauren.
“She is most incredible teacher, partner, friend. She is the real ‘Strictly’ star and I am so delighted I am the first partnership you have had. She is going to go a long way and I am very proud of her.”
Krishnan was eliminated after the ‘Strictly’ judges voted to save Angela, 79, instead.
Craig Revel Horwood said: “Krishnan, you really upped your game in that dance off, it was magnificent. Angela, you nearly lost your supporting leg darling in the kick but you saved it, miraculously.
“But the couple that I would like to save and go through to Blackpool is Angela and Kai.”
Anton Du Beke also praised Krishnan – despite opting to save Angela.
He explained: “I thought both couples danced very well – it was a super dance off, if there is such a thing.
“But just for the cleaner technique, really, and the more recognisable fundamentals – I’m going to save Angela.”

Love Island star Arabella Chi ‘robbed in Spain’

OHMYGOSSIP — Love Island star Arabella Chi has reportedly been robbed in Spain by thieves who dragged her from her car after slashing the tyres.
The 32-year-old reality star/model was targeted by two men in a roadside robbery on Thursday night (09.11.23) after taking the ferry from Ibiza to Barcelona as she made her way back to the UK with her dad Paul and her dog Astro.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Shortly after driving off the ferry, she had car issues with the two back wheels. Her dad realised both tyres had been slashed. With only one spare, they decided Arabella would stay with the car as it was packed full of suitcases and her dad should get an Uber to go and get help.”
The publication reports Arabella locked herself inside the car after her dad left, but two men used a high-tech device to unlock the vehicle remotely and dragged her out before snatching her handbag, purse and passport.
She’s said to have kept hold of her phone after pleading with the men and she was able to call her dad after the robbers ran off. Paul is then believed to have returned to the scene with police officers to help his daughter.
The telly star is now said to be recuperating at home after her ordeal and is being comforted by family and friends.
The insider added: “Arabella is so shaken, but pleased to be back home. It was a hugely traumatic experience for both her and Paul, who is reeling.”
Arabella has yet to comment publicly on the incident.

Strictly’s Ellie Leach breaks silence on Vito Coppola romance rumours after those kisses

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star Ellie Leach has broken her silence on romance rumours with her professional partner Vito Coppola after a double kiss.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ star, 22, and the 30-year-old Italian hunk sparked speculation they are more than dance partners after their passionate Pasodoble to Faithless’s ‘Insomnia’ during week five.
Vito placed his hands on Ellie’s cheek and leaned in for a kiss not once, but twice.
However, the former soap star insists Vito is always giving her a kiss on the cheek and insists they are not an item.
She told OK! Magazine: “It was only a kiss on the cheek. He gives me a kiss on the cheek every Saturday!
“It was definitely on the cheek.”
Ellie hopes the pair will remain good friends once the show ends.
She added: “We really, really get along and we have a lovely friendship.
“I hope we can continue that.
“We’ve got a really good relationship where we kind of know what the other needs. Vito even lets me have power naps during training.”
Ellie split from her boyfriend in May after he cheated on her, and she previously admitted she was looking forward to putting all her energy into ‘Strictly’ as she tried to regain confidence in herself.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Self-confidence is something I’ve always struggled with.
“As an actor, people don’t see that – they think you’re this confident person and you can do anything.
“I’m hoping ‘Strictly’ will bring that for me, push me and make me realise I’m capable of things.”
And she credited Vito with helping her to focus on the positives.
She explained: “Vito has taught me so much already. He tells me, ‘It’s a competition with yourself. If you’re tired, fight it, if you’re stressed, fight it’.
“I also don’t praise myself enough, I just focus on the wrong. But then he’ll say to me, ‘Yeah, but you just did that…’ ”
And Ellie – best known for playing Faye Windass on the cobbles – revealed how Vito and the show have helped with her body confidence.
She told The Sun newspaper: “Vito’s keeping me snacked up. We always have snacks on hand, so we’re definitely eating.
“But I think the physical activity side, I can definitely see the impact it’s having.
“The fact that I’ve been dancing on live TV in front of millions of people is crazy to me.
“I do think it gives you a little bit of that confidence to be like, ‘Oh, as if I’ve done that and as if that’s me.’ ”

Sharon Stone says making Basic Instinct was a ‘scary journey’

OHMYGOSSIP — Sharon Stone says making ‘Basic Instinct’ was a “scary journey”.
The 65-year-old actress played murderous Catherine Tramell opposite Michael Douglas as a detective investigating her crimes in the 1992 erotic thriller – which featured her infamous crotch-flashing scene – and Sharon says the role forced her to confront some “dark parts” of herself.
She told PEOPLE: “I got to confront my whole self, and that’s a scary journey. But once you do it, you walk away with a tremendous amount of confidence because you’ve had to look at all of yourself, parts of yourself you would never have to dig deep and look at, scary parts, dark parts, concerning parts.
“And once you do that, you get quite a bit of confidence because you’ve really looked into the dark mirror.”
Sharon went on to insist she’s pleased the genre of 1990s-style erotic thrillers seems to be making a comeback, adding: “I think people like that. It’s fun and it’s exciting and they’re sexy. I mean, what’s wrong with that?”
The actress previously admitted the film totally changed her life over the course of a weekend following its release back in 1992 and she ended up being caught in a predicament when she was spotted out in Los Angeles days after the film’s opening.
During an appearance on CNN, she explained: “I did not know [that scene] would change the dynamic of my life forever … I didn’t know that on Friday when that movie came out that I would basically be a nobody and on Tuesday I would go to get my eye glasses picked up on Sunset Plaza and I would come out and my little 325 BMW and I would stop at the stop light and everyone would climb all over my car. “And the light would turn green and cars would start beeping and I wouldn’t know is it legal to drive when people are all over the top of your car?” When asked if her story was true, Sharon went on to confess she was worried about being jailed if any of the enthusiastic fans got hurt. She added: “This is the real thing and I’m in my car on Sunset Boulevard and they’re all over the hood and they’re all over the windshield and people are blowing their horns and I’m thinking if I drive and they get hurt, do I get arrested? Is it a crime when you drive and people are on your car? “And I’m inside thinking do I drive? Not drive? What’s the law on people all over your car? … ” Sharon concluded by warning fans: “Don’t get on my car ‘cos I don’t know what to do.”

‘I wasn’t that good in it’: Andrew Scott rules out playing Bond Villain again

OHMYGOSSIP — Andrew Scott has ruled out playing a Bond villain again.
The 47-year-old actor played MI5 boss Max Denbigh, codenamed C, in Sam Mendes’ ‘Spectre’ alongside Daniel Craig’s 007.
However, he doesn’t believe he did a “good” job and wouldn’t like to repeat the role.
He told GQ magazine: “If I’m honest, it’s not a territory that I feel like I would want to go over again. Now I know who I am a little bit more, I feel like the work that I’m just interested in doing is more in the grey areas.
“I suppose it’s just that I didn’t think… I just maybe wasn’t that good in it.”
Elsewhere, the ‘Fleabag’ star revealed he was “encouraged” to keep his sexuality private to succeed as an actor.
The ‘All Of Us Strangers’ star can “understand” why he was told it would be best not to tell the public he was gay in case it had a negative impact on his career, but he is glad he “eventually” spoke openly about his personal life.
He told the publication: “I was encouraged, by people in the industry who I really admired and who had my best interests at heart, to keep that [to myself ], I understand why they gave that advice, but I’m also glad that I eventually ignored it.”
Andrew recalled being “fearful” of his sexuality as a teenager.
He said: “There was so much of me that was quite fearful, actually, and ignoring that side of me. What’s difficult sometimes for gay people is that you don’t get to experience this sort of adolescence where you go, ‘Oh, my God, I like that person, do they like me back?’ ”
Although Andrew went through “pain” as he prepared to come out to his family, he now thinks of it as a “gift” because of how loved he felt afterward.
He said: “I had a very happy childhood, but there’s an inevitable pain that you have to go through when you have to take a risk telling your family something about yourself.
“I really do think that that is a gift now, because to have to risk everything, and for your family and friends to say ‘We accept you no matter what,’ that’s a real feeling of love that you get confirmed at a very young age, that actually some people who aren’t queer don’t get.
“I mean, some queer people aren’t so lucky.”

Gaby Roslin ‘won’t apologise for being happy’

OHMYGOSSIP — Gaby Roslin surrounds herself with “joy-spreaders”.
The 59-year-old TV presenter admits that her social circle has become smaller over recent years – but Gaby has always made a concerted effort to surround herself with positive people.
Speaking to HELLO! magazine, she explained: “I think it’s important to realise that the older you get, the fewer friends you have. You want to have people around you who are joy-spreaders. You know they have your back and they have yours.
“But at work or wherever, there will always be that toxic person and often you can’t get away from them. With people like that, you have to remember that it’s about them, not you. Then you can look at them in a different way.”
Gaby has always had a positive outlook on life – even in the most challenging circumstances.
She explained: “I have always been like this, throughout my life, but I guess it was when my mum died when I was very young and, at the same time, my dad had bowel cancer and then a stroke. I had two parents in two different hospitals suffering from cancer.
“I was on a TV show a few weeks after my mum died and I remember people saying: ‘Gosh, it’s amazing you can be so happy after everything you’ve been through.’ But get to wake up in the morning and see the sky, whether it’s blue or grey – I get to take that first breath. I just thought: ‘I’m never going to apologise for being happy again.’
“I’ve lost friends and family far too young and so I wake up and say: ‘Wow, another day – let’s do this.'”

“But, you know, I stood in for Philip on ‘Dancing on Ice’ before when he had COVID and that was an amazing night.”

A source close to Nigel explained: “ITV needs him more than he needs them.
“His TikTok has taken off in quite a big way and his social media presence on platforms that appeal to a younger audience has exponentially expanded.
“One of ITV’s biggest priorities is to capture the younger viewers – so Nigel will be a huge driver for that.”
Meanwhile, Nigel recently explained that he wants to connect with a younger audience through ‘I’m a Celebrity’.
During an appearance on GB News, he shared: “You’ve got about 10 million young people who watch that programme.
“These are people who don’t really watch the news or read newspapers, but they still care about the country they live in and their futures.”

Zac Efron says getting real-life wrestler Kevin Von Erich’s blessing for ‘The Iron Claw’ was his ‘most important review’

OHMYGOSSIP — Zac Efron says getting real-life wrestler Kevin Von Erich’s blessing for ‘The Iron Claw’ was the “most important review” he could get for the biopic.
The 36-year-old actor plays Kevin in the film about the showman’s family’s rollercoaster dynasty, and threw himself into the role by undergoing a physical transformation and sporting bowl cut hair.
Zac told Variety about meeting the retired wrestler, 66, the night before the Dallas premiere of the film: “I was very curious about what he thought of the movie.
“We went out to the patio, sat forehead to forehead, and talked about life for an hour and a half.
“And he told me that he did enjoy the movie. I can’t really put into words how that feels.
“It’s far and away the most important review to me on so many levels. It meant the world, and everything just came full circle.”
Zac has told Entertainment Tonight about his physical overhaul for the movie: “It was shocking at every point of the transformation. I remember Harris (Dickinson, who plays Kevin’s brother in the film) and I were walking out of hair and make-up and it was like the first time we had to wear the full kit, and we were both thinking, ‘What the hell are we doing here, man? How did we get into this?’
“But I think it ended up looking really good and we had a great crew helping us out with that. The hair and make-up team was epic.
“This movie’s a true story, and that man, Kevin Von Erich right there, he really motivated me to get in shape for this movie.
“The physicality he brought to the ring every single day was really unique. It changed wrestling.
“I knew that was going to be the hardest (thing) for me to master and get right. So, I put everything I had into it.”
The film follows the Von Erichs, led by father and coach Fritz Von Erich (played by Holt McCallany) and his sons Kevin, David (portrayed by Harris), Kerry (Jeremy Allen White) and Mike (Standley Simons.)
The wrestling dynasty as hit by a string of suicides and illnesses, with Kevin’s brothers all dying before their father – sparking reports of the ‘Von Erich curse’.

Adam Driver shocks fans by telling audience member ‘F*** you’ after they branded ‘Ferrari’ action scenes ‘cheesy’

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Driver shocked fans by saying “f*** you” to an audience member who called crash scenes in his new ‘Ferrari’ film “cheesy”.
The 39-year-old actor plays Enzo Ferrari in Michael Mann’s biographical drama, which follows the life of the sports car magnate in 1957 as his company prepares to enter the Mille Miglia, a 100-mile, open-road motorsport race.
Despite a cast that also includes Penelope Cruz, Shailene Woodley, Gabriel Leone, Sarah Gadon and Patrick Dempsey, it has been slammed with negative reviews and Adam brutally hit back at more criticism of the movie at a paid-for question and answer session at the Camerimage Film Festival in Poland on Sunday. (12.11.23)
When a fan branded its action sequences as cringeworthy, an irritated Adam bluntly responded: “F*** you. I don’t know? Next question.”
His response drew awkward laughter from the audience and Adam disappeared immediately after his on-stage interview and was accused by fans of “ghosting” them.
A video that has now gone viral captured the moment an audience member asked Adam: “What do you think about (the ‘Ferrrai’) crash scenes? They looked pretty harsh, drastic and, I must say, cheesy for me. What do you think?”
Two-time Oscar nominee Adam took a long drink of water before issuing his sweary response.
‘Ferrari’, which had a budget of $110 million, is set to hit cinemas on Christmas Day.
Adam took the lead role after Christian Bale and then Hugh Jackman were originally mean to play the part.
In 2019, Adam walked out mid-way through an interview with NPR’s ‘Fresh Air’ after he was asked to listen to a clip if himself singing ‘Being Alive’ from Stephen Sondheim’s ‘Company’ musical in his Netflix film ‘Marriage Story’.
He said in an interview with The New Yorker his performance as a musician in the Coen brothers’ ‘Inside Llewyn Davis’ made him never want to watch his own performances, which is why he walked out of his NPR interview.
And he confessed on BBC One’s ‘The Graham Norton Show’ he hated doing ComicCons as he could not get a coffee without being mobbed by fans.
He said: “I couldn’t go out for a coffee without a mask in case I was recognised and when I opened my window there was a band playing the ‘Star Wars’ theme on repeat. It was scary.”

Matt Lucas is allergic to raw fruit

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Lucas is dangerously allergic to raw fruit.
The ‘Come Fly With Me’ star, 49, revealed that there are plenty of foods he cannot eat due to an intense anaphylactic reaction from his body, and he has to avoid them at all costs.
During a recent appearance on the ‘Table Manners with Jessie and Lennie Ware’ podcast, he said: “So I have allergies, like, anaphylactic allergies. Raw apples, raw peaches, raw pears, and raw plums.”
Matt did however emphasise that cooked fruit was ok with him, and that he couldn’t resist some fruity desserts.
He added: “If it’s cooked, I’m fine. Like, I wouldn’t eat raw apples but, like, an apple pie – Like if it were McDonald’s apple pie, I’d have two!”
As well as having these allergies, the ‘Little Britain’ legend also revealed he hated cheese and fish, something that the ‘Saturday Kitchen’ team wasn’t told about before he appeared live on the show.
Matt then recalled hilarious story of when he was forced to eat haddock live on the show.
He said: “I don’t eat cheese, and I don’t eat fish, but they didn’t get that memo. So they made me some. They gave me some haddock.
“It didn’t have any cheese sauce on it. But it was still haddock, and it was live on the television. The man had worked ever so hard and he was very, you know, a very good chef.
“I was on the TV and I thought well, I’ve got to be well-behaved. What happened was, because- It doesn’t matter, you could be the best chef in the world, and this could be the best fish in the world.
“I was on this Saturday Kitchen and they gave me the haddock and do you know what I did? I did have a taste of it because obviously, I was on the television. You need to be polite.
“I went, ‘Oh, this is- Try this! Oh, try that!’, and I went round the studio. And then people would have gone, ‘Matt Lucas is very good to the crew’, you know. I was palming it off is what I was actually doing.”

George Alagiah wrote his own eulogy

OHMYGOSSIP — George Alagiah wrote his own eulogy that brought everyone to tears at his funeral.
The BBC newsreader passed away in July at the age of 67 after a long nine-year battle with bowel cancer, and a memorial service was held this week at London’s St. Martin-in-the-Fields church with lots of his former BBC colleagues paying their respects.
Fellow presenter Sophie Haworth, 55, read George’s eulogy, in which he urged everyone to cherish their loved ones.
She said: “We end the programme today with George in his own words. If you haven’t already told the people you love, that you love them, tell them. If you haven’t already told them how vulnerable you sometimes feel, tell them.
“If you want to tell them that you would like to be with them until the front hall stairs feel like Everest, tell them. You never know what is coming around the corner. And if, lucky you, there is nothing around the corner, then at least you got your defence in first.”
Other stars present at the memorial included Mishal Husain, Fiona Bruce, Nick Robinson and Sian Williams.
Three weeks before his passing, he shared with his wife the words he wanted to be shared at his memorial.
According to the BBC, he said: “It is a painful yet exclusive luxury to be living with cancer because for the most part it is a story of a death foretold.
“Many of us cancer patients know that our time is running out so there is time for reflection. It is not the brutality of a car crash.”
George had been the face of BBC One’s News at Six since 2007. He was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2014, and ultimately left the programme in 2022 after having his cancer had spread.
During an interview with The Guardian in 2020, the presenter emphasised that although he may not survive his battle with the disease, he was thankful for the life he lived.
He said: “On being diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer in 2014, I constructed a pros and cons list of how my life had gone so far. The things that had gone well far outweighed the others, which brought me to a place of total contentment.
“When you’re closer to your last day, you live each one with an intensity you couldn’t have previously imagined. Of course I wish I never had this disease, but I’m not sure I’d give these six years back.
“With friends, family and colleagues I’ve shared experiences and thoughts that we otherwise wouldn’t have had.”
