Russell T Davies explains Catherine Tate and David Tennant’s return to Doctor Who

OHMYGOSSIP — Catherine Tate and David Tennant both jumped at the chance to return to ‘Doctor Who’, according to Russell T Davies.
The returning showrunner of the long-running BBC sci-fi series – which marks five decades of time travel this year – revealed Catherine, 53, and David, 52, were keen to work together again in the upcoming Christmas special after taking on the role of Time Lord and assistant together in the late 00s.
The 60-year-old writer told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I just love David and Catherine together. Catherine said, ‘Oh, I’ve always loved Donna Noble and wouldn’t it be marvellous to make some more?’
“And I went, ‘Oh yeah, yeah, yeah’, like that. And then she asked David. She said, ‘Would you make some more and he would, in a heartbeat. So I genuinely felt honour-bound to go to the BBC and say, ‘Look, these two stars have just said they would love to come back.’ I knew it was the 60th anniversary coming up. Simple as that.”
“So I just sent off that email about Christmas Eve or something – best Christmas present you ever had!”
Russell – who has penned an episode featuring ‘Harry Potter’ star Miriam Margolyes, 82, as an alien based on Beep The Meep and Yasmin Finney, 20, as Donna’s daughter Rose – found it tricky to mesh two stories together in one episode.
He said: “You’ve got Donna getting her her memory back and you need an alien invasion at the same time.
“It’s such a classic strip – a lonely alien lands and a child befriends the alien and tries to help the alien. And that’s from 1979, two years before ET. So ET ripped that story off, frankly.
The ‘It’s A Sin’ creator enthused about the budget he got for the string of three episodes – which come before Ncuti Gatwa, 31, takes the mantle of the titular role alongside ex ‘Coronation Street’ star Millie Gibson, 19, as his assistant Ruby Sunday – claiming it was “more” than his entire body of work from the last decade.
Russell said: “It’s not a ‘Stars Wars’ budget. Nonetheless, it’s more than most things I’ve made for the past 10 years added together.”

Hunter Schafer eyes Legend of Zelda movie role

OHMYGOSSIP — Hunter Schafer would love to play the titular role in the live-action ‘The Legend of Zelda’ movie.
After it was confirmed that the classic Nintendo game – which follows a young boy named Link trying to save a kidnapped princess from an evil force – is int he works, the ‘Euphoria’ star has once again said it’s a character she’s keen to take on.
She told Variety: “That would be so cool.
I love the game, personally. I played it as a kid and I still play it now. Who knows! That would be pretty cool.”
It’s not the first time the 24-year-old actress has expressed how much she loves the game and would love to portray the elf-like Hylian princess of the kingdom of Hyrule.
She told ‘Entertainment Tonight’ last year: “That would be cool. Like an elf? Yeah. I mean, I played that video game a bunch when I was a kid, that’s such a good game.”
Avi Arad and Shigeru Miyamoto will co-produce the flick.
Earlier this week, Miyamoto announced on X – previously known as Twitter -: “This is Miyamoto. I have been working on the live-action film of ‘The Legend of Zelda’ for many years now with Avi Arad-san, who has produced many mega hit film. I have asked Avi-san to produce this film with me, and we have now officially started the development of the film with Nintendo itself heavily involved in the production.”
However, the producer – who has previously worked on the likes of ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’, ‘Into the Spider-Verse’, ‘No Way Home’, ‘Far From Home’, and ‘Homecoming’ – concluded his post by warning fans it could “take some time” but insisted that he remains optimistic about the whole project.
He added: “It will take time until its completion, but I hope you look forward to seeing it.”
According to Deadline, ‘Jurassic World’ writer Derek Connolly is working on the script.
Earlier this year, it was reported that game producer Eiji Aonuma would love to see the Nintendo game turned into a movie.
Following the success of ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie’ – which grossed over $1.2 billion worldwide, and set multiple box-office records, including the biggest worldwide opening weekend for an animated film and the highest-grossing film based on a video game – Aonuma has said he would love to see a ‘Zelda’ film and has urged fans of the action-adventure games to make it known that they want to see it happen.
He told Polygon: “I have to say, I am interested. For sure, but it’s not just me being interested in something that makes things happen, unfortunately. Maybe the voice of the fans is what’s important here.”

Trish Balusha shocked as she is EVICTED from Big Brother – after crowd chants ‘Trish will win!’

OHMYGOSSIP — Trish Balusa has been evicted from ‘Big Brother’.
The 33-year-old stay-at-home mum had been taking part in the ITV reality show but looked shocked when she became the latest housemate to face the chop at the hands of the viewing public on Friday (10.11.23), just moments after the studio audience was heard chanting “Trish will win!”
Speaking to hosts AJ and Will, she said: “I’m shocked because I thought everyone would know what is best for them. But this was my third nomination and I’d started to think ‘Should I be looking at this a bit more closely?'”
Trish – who had been nominated by Chanelle, Tom and Jenkin – claimed that she experienced a lot of “microaggressions” from her fellow housemates and after infamously falling out with fellow evictee Chanelle Bowen this week, claimed that the Welsh beauty’s “sensitivity” was no longer her issue.
She added: “I thought that they did like me to my face, but then I’d hear something bitchy. There was a lot of microaggressions and Tom would be like ‘I’m not trying to argue but…’ and I’d be like ‘Well I’m not trying argue either because I could win!’ People saw me as aggressive when I was just existing.”
“Overall with the housemates, that was quite constant. With Chanelle, whenever something came up, we’d have a conversation and clear it up. But then it was something else that would come up and she was expecting me to have sympathy.”
“I started to understand that Chanelle, Tom, and Jenkin didn’t care about me as an individual. They were just approaching me to show TV that everything was okay. When I spoke to Olivia, there was a lot of reflection but then with Chanelle, maybe her sensitivity wasn’t my issue anymore.”
“During her time in the house. Trish had also fallen out with Paul – whom she had accused of being a bully – and Dylan after he accused her of being “aggressive” but she insisted upon her exit that she still sees herself as “empathetic” and claimed she had been “labelled” by her co-stars.
She said: “When I look back it, I’m like ‘Oh s***, this is what my mum talks about’. I’m quite tolerant with things but with Dylan, there was a build-up. Being called aggressive just carried the narrative of being the angry black woman but I think my responses were quite thoughtful. Why is it when I’m being empathetic that I’m still being labelled as aggressive? I know because I’m a black woman it’s so easy to be labelled under the negatives.”
Asked who she would like to win the series, she said: “For me, it’s between Yinrun and Jordan.”

Chanelle evicted from Big Brother: ‘I was ready to be out…the boredom!’

OHMYGOSSIP — Chanelle Bowen has been evicted from ‘Big Brother’.
The 29-year-old dental assistant had been taking part in the hit ITV reality series but on Friday’s (10.11.23) episode was voted out by the viewing public and while she exited the house to a mixture of boos and cheers, she beamed as she admitted she was “ready” to be out.
Speaking to AJ and Will after the show, she said: “I was ready to leave, honestly, the boredom. I can’t imagine what’s been shown. I’m here…well, I don’t know, I don’t know.”
Chanelle had been nominated by Trish, Jordan, Noki, and Yinrun this week after losing the initial immunity she had won to a task over a rule break – which had seen her discuss nominations with other housemates – but refused to take any of them “personally” and insisted she wasn’t too bothered about making it to the final to begin with.
“You really can’t take it personally in that house. I give them a reason, I broke the rules, I get it. I know this sounds really silly…it was nice to have the immunity. It was never [about] getting to the final. If I’d wanted the the immunity, I would’ve held on it it. If it was that big, then yeah…”
“When you’re in the house, I couldn’t say ‘Oh yea, Trish was talking about you’, I’d couldn’t admit to it because then I’d be breaking rules. The friendships I have made were quiet genuine, Paul left and that argument was horrific to sit in. I don’t like people who name-call, I told Trish, and out of the blue she called Paul a bully. It came out of nowhere. It felt out of the blue.”
Before leaving the house, the blonde beauty was asked which of the remaining housemates she would like to ultimately win the £100,000 prize and chose her fellow Welshman Jenkin.
“Jenkin – obviously – he’s my winner. Matty is incredible, Yinrun is incredible. Oh and Tom. Any of them can make it to the final but hopefully Jenkin will fly the flag for Wales.
Just moments after Chanelle’s eviction was announced, it was announced that Trish would also be leaving the house.

Jonnie Irwin was warned he wouldn’t make twins birthday – but is still here six months later

OHMYGOSSIP — Jonnie Irwin was given just days to live in May.
The 49-year-old TV star was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer in 2020 – which has since spread to his brain – and had been receiving hospice care earlier this year when doctors told him to go home to be with his family, and he and wife Jess were stunned when he was warned he was unlikely to see twins Rafa and Cormac turn three just weeks later.
Jonnie told The Sun newspaper: “I was in a lot of back pain and very weak. I was spending hours just lying there sleeping and all the signs were there that it could be the end.
“One day, the oncologist, hospice doctors and a couple of nurses came in and started telling me to go home and spend time with my family.
“The penny didn’t drop at first. My ears only heard, ‘You’re going home’ because I was pretty out of it. It was only later I thought, ‘They were telling me I’m done’.”
Jess, 40, added: “I really thought Jonnie was going to die…
“The doctors said, ‘We are sending him home and we’d advise you to spend as much time together as you can’.
“They weren’t as blunt as to give us a date, but when I told them we’d got a big party planned for the twins and asked if we should cancel it, the medics said they didn’t think Jonnie would be there for it.
“It was devastating.”
But the former ‘A Place in the Sun’ host refused to give up on life.
He said: “It could have been the end, but I thought, ‘No, that’s not me, that’s not happening’.
“When I got home I made myself get out of bed, no matter how bad I felt, and spent time with Jess and the boys.
“Don’t get me wrong, there were times I said to Jess, ‘I think I’m dying’ because I felt too weak to go on.”
Jonnie – who also has four-year-old Rex with his wife – started drinking protein shakes to build strength after his weight dropped to just six stone and had his pain relief switched from morphine to fentanyl, as well as spending hours a day in an oxygen tent in a bid to slow the growth of his tumours.
He said: “I won’t let cancer define me.
“A friend of mine told me, ‘Your body achieves what your mind achieves’, and I want to live by that…
“I knew I needed to come off the morphine.
“You have to take control.
“You have to tell the doctors when you’re in pain and when you need an alternative — and I’d advise anyone with cancer to do the same…
“Coming off morphine meant I got some of my appetite back and I started drinking protein shakes and began to regain some weight.”

Bobby Brazier’s EastEnders future in doubt?

OHMYGOSSIP — Bobby Brazier has hinted he won’t stay at ‘EastEnders’ for much longer.
The 20-year-old actor – who joined the soap as Freddie Slater last year – plans to return to Albert Square once his stint on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ comes to an end but he is unsure how long for and admitted he’s already thinking about his next career move.
In an interview with the Daily Mirror newspaper, he said: “I think my next big step is a small role in something with a good director.
“I want to master my craft.”
Bobby – whose mother is the late Jade Goody – has grown up with a positive attitude and strong self-belief thanks to his dad Jeff Brazier’s motto, ‘Because I can.’
He said: “Growing up, I remember hearing him say that a lot.
“It was just something that he’d say outright and as a result, I think I’ve grown into someone who thinks they can do quite a lot of things. It’s not a bad mindset to be in.”
But despite being firm favourites with viewers, modest Bobby refused to saw if he thinks he and ‘Strictly’ partner Dianne Buswell can win.
Asked if they can, he said: “Well, I’ve seen the support we both get in the studio, on social media, everywhere.
“Our place in the show is determined very much by these people and I’m seeing so much of it that I can’t help but feel that they’ll take us further.”
Bobby’s only regret is that the ‘Strictly’ experience doesn’t last longer.
He said: “I wanted to learn how to dance.
“The other day, for the first time, I had to remind myself that actually, this isn’t going to last forever.
“But actually, it’s just a short three months, if I’m lucky.”

Elon Musk backs Darren Aronofsky for biopic

OHMYGOSSIP — Elon Musk is “glad” Darren Aronofsky is directing his biopic.
It has been revealed a film based on Walter Isaacson’s recent authorised biography of the Tesla boss is in the works at A24 following a bidding war, and the ‘Whale’ filmmaker will direct and produce via his Protozoa Pictures banner, much to the delight of the 52-year-old SpaceX founder.
Elon wrote on X, formerly Twitter: “Glad Darren is doing it. He is one of the best.”
Walter’s book, which was simply titled ‘Elon Musk’, was written after the author spent two years shadowing the billionaire and interviewing him, his family, friends and colleagues.
And the tome turned out “more exciting” than the writer had originally envisaged.
Speaking to the New Orleans’ Times-Picayune, Walter previously said: “He has a lot of fans and a lot of enemies, and my book tries to tell a straightforward narrative…
“I thought it was going to be more about rocket ships and electric cars. It became a more exciting ride.”
As well as his business ventures, the book also examined Elon’s personal life, including being a father of 11 children with three women.
Shivon Zilis, who has two-year-old twins Strider and Azure, with the X owner, told the author she was only too happy to have children with the business mogul.
She said in the book: “[Elon] really wants smart people to have kids, so he encouraged me to do this. I can’t possibly think of genes I would prefer for my children.”
But Grimes – the mother of three-year-old X, 23-month-old Exa, aka Y, and Tau, who was born last year – branded her on/off partner “clueless” when she discovered he had sent photos of her undergoing a caesarean section to their family members, including her father and brothers.
She said in the book: “He was just clueless about why I’d be upset.”

Nia DaCosta sought advice from other Marvel filmmakers – and one in particular was very helpful

OHMYGOSSIP — Nia DaCosta spoke to “a lot of Marvel directors” before agreeing to helm ‘The Marvels.
The 33-year-old filmmaker wanted some advice and guidance before joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe so turned to the likes of ‘Black Panther’s Ryan Coogler, ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ Destin Daniel Cretton, and Chloe Zhao, who oversaw ‘Eternals’, before signing up because she knew working under the banner would be a very different opportunity to anything else she had done.
She told The Hollywood Reporter: “I talked to a lot of Marvel directors.
“It’s such a specific experience and they make movies in such a unique way, it was really cool to get some insider knowledge.”
And Nia found James Gunn, who directed the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ series, to be the most helpful.
She said: “He really contextualised what we were doing and how hard it was. Sort of reframing the way you think about it.”
In addition, the ‘Candyman’ director also had conversations with her friend and collaborator Tessa Thompson, who plays Valkyrie in the MCU.
She said: “[Tessa] was the first person I talked to. For Tessa … I wanted to know all the tea about Kevin Feige. I was like, ‘Is he the worst? Like, is he gonna torture me for however long this movie is?’
“She was just like, he’s a really great guy, and he really cares, so that was very reassuring.”
Meanwhile, the director revealed Iman Vellani – who plays Ms. Marvel – is such a big fan of the comic book world, she was “stressed out” when she had to film with Samuel L. Jackson, who has played Nick Fury in numerous Marvel films.
She said: “She’s incredibly professional … she was ready to go, she’s smart, she’s creative, she has great ad libs and has great suggestions … at the same time when Sam Jackson came to set for the first time, she hid behind me.
“I thought she was joking, but she genuinely was stressed out to meet him. It was really lovely to see that. That enthusiasm is so infectious and reminds us all why we’re here.”

Brian Conley ‘felt like Tom Cruise’ shooting EastEnders stunt

OHMYGOSSIP — Brian Conley “felt like Tom Cruise” filming the cafe fire on ‘EastEnders’.
The 62-year-old actor’s soap alter ego Tom ‘Rocky’ Cotton turned to arson in the hope wife Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) could claim on insurance and he could use the money to clear his gambling debts, and the comic admitted he had a great time shooting the stunt.
He told the Daily Mirror’s Love TV magazine: “I must admit, I felt like Tom Cruise.
“It was scary when we were in there, we genuinely could not see anything.
“The firemen were real, from the armed forces.
“I’ve never done anything like it before, apart from fire-eating on my own show – I told the firemen that.”
With Kathy set to be arrested for the fire this week, Brian – who recently confirmed he is leaving the soap – admitted he wouldn’t be surprised if their marriage is over once the truth comes out.
He said: “I’d dump him. I mean, how much can Kathy put up with?
“The poor woman has really gone through it with him.
“But love has kept them together, Rocky genuinely absolutely loves her, which is wonderful.”
Brian loves sharing the screen with Gillian.
He said: “I love Gillian, she’s the best leading lady I’ve ever worked with, without a doubt, and I tell her that.
“We have a genuine love for each other.”
Fans have been speculating if Rocky will be the dead body revealed at Christmas, and while Brian refused to speculate, he admitted he’s looking forward to tuning in at home.
He said: “What people are going to experience this Christmas is something they won’t ever have seen before.
“It’s really, really exciting, with twists and turns.
“It’s going to blow us all away.”

Francis Lawrence loved ‘villain origin story’ in Hunger Games prequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Francis Lawrence was intrigued by the “villain origin story” of ‘The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes’.
The 52-year-old filmmaker is helming the prequel movie that explores the rise of Coriolanus Snow (Tom Blyth) before he became the tyrannical President of Panem and loved crafting a new story for the project.
Francis told Collider: “I really fell in love with doing a villain’s origin story and I also love world creation movies. To go back 64 years and be able to really recreate this world in a much more rudimentary sense.”
The director explained that he enjoyed getting the chance to collaborate with author Suzanne Collins and producer Nina Jacobson once again after helming three of the previous movies.
Quizzed on the appeal of returning to the dystopian franchise, Francis said: “Part of it is honestly working with the people, working with Suzanne again, with Nina again.
“I love being a part of the ‘Hunger Games’ world and because Suzanne created a book with new thematic material.”
The filmmaker explained that he had to adopt a different method of capturing the start of the Hunger Games as the new film takes place decades before the previous installments.
He said: “Emotionally it has to feel different. Visually, of course, a very different kind of arena.
“Instead of fancy elevators and glass pods, they’re basically being walked in at gunpoint or dragged in and put on their spots. It’s just a basic arena, but of course these explosions have happened and there’s rubble everywhere.”
Francis explained how a scene in which protagonist Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler) attempts to find her friend mimicked a sequence featuring Jennifer Lawrence’s hero Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) in the 2013 picture ‘Catching Fire’.
The ‘Red Sparrow’ director said: “The draw of Rachel’s character trying to find her friend. If you remember from ‘Catching Fire’, Katniss is trying to find Peeta and she doesn’t know where he is. There are two parallel similarities there.”

Layton Williams renders Motsi Mabuse ‘speechless’ following Strictly Come Dancing performance

OHMYGOSSIP — Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin topped the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ leaderboard on Saturday (11.11.23) night.
The 29-year-old actor – who is best known for starring in the sitcom ‘Bad Education’ – is currently taking part in the BBC Latin and ballroom show and after scoring a near-perfect score of 39 for their Argentine Tango to Loreen hit ‘Tattoo’, he and his professional partner Nikita have sailed through to next week’s heat at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom.
Speaking to host Claudia Winkleman after their performance, Layton said: “It’s been a pretty tough week and I just want to say thank you [to Nikita] because I feel like he is the best partner ever. I just felt so special, we’re just so in it. It’s beautiful. I was literally looking like, ‘Please don’t step on his toes!'”
Following their performance, West End star Layton – who played the title role in ‘Billy Elliot: The Musical’ as a child – and Nikita received a standing ovation from judges Shirley Ballas and Motsi Mabuse, who remarked she was left “speechless” after seeing the routine.
She said: “Guys! Speechless! That happens once in a lifetime to me. That was epic, iconic, it will never be done again like that. That was special, and I mean special within the whole world of the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ type of competition.
“That was the bomb! End of it!”
Head judge Shirley noted that their routine had gone “beyond perfection” whilst Anton DuBeke claimed he would “pay good money” to see the duo perform and Craig Revel Horwood – the only judge not to hand out a perfect 10 – labelled the dance as “amazing.”
Hot on the heels of Layton and Nikita were former ‘Coronation Street’ actress Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola, who scored a total of 35 for their Rumba to Cyndi Lauper classic ‘True Colours’ whilst ‘Casualty’ actor Nigel Harman and Katya Jones completed the top three having scored 34 for their Couple’s Choice to Bruno Mars hit ‘Just the Way You Are’.
At the other end of the scoreboard were tennis legend Annabel Croft and Johannes Radebe – who scored 31 for their Samba to Shakira’s ‘Whenever Wherever’ – while Channel 4 presenter Krishnan Guru-Murthy and Lauren Oakley scored 25 for their Samba to ‘Bamboleo’ by Gipsy Kings.

‘I could relate to it on a personal level’: Mia McKenna-Bruce identified with How to Have Sex character

OHMYGOSSIP — Mia McKenna-Bruce found it easy to identify with her character in ‘How to Have Sex’.
The 26-year-old actress features as Tara – a teenager desperate to lose her virginity on a party holiday in Crete – in Molly Manning Walker’s new film and found it straightforward to relate to the emotions of her alter ego.
Mia told HeyUGuys.com: “Getting to play Tara was like getting to explore a part of myself, especially as a teenager because you go through so many emotions of trying to figure out who you are.
“I felt I could relate to it on a personal level. She is bubbly on the surface and can talk her way out of anything but actually she has so many layers to her, which as an actor is super exciting to play.”
The movie was shot in location in Malia and Walker explained the challenges of shooting the picture amongst holidaymakers.
The director said: “It was quite tough. We shot all of the party scenes in the first two weeks because we didn’t want to lose people off the island because it was becoming November, it was cold, we had to cast all of the extras.”
In the film, Tara regrets having drunken sex with one of the boys staying next door and Walker wanted to come up with a serious take on the risks of teenage holidays.
The 30-year-old filmmaker said: “It was a reaction to those comedy films and trying to make something that’s not hypersexualised and that actually had grounding in reality from a female perspective.”

‘I’m showing up at three o’clock in the morning’: Willem Dafoe missed out on sleep due to Poor Things makeup process

OHMYGOSSIP — Willem Dafoe endured sleepless nights to have his makeup applied for ‘Poor Things’.
The 68-year-old actor stars in Yorgos Lanthimos’ movie as the disfigured scientist Dr. Godwin Baxter and explained that he had to go through a gruelling process simply to get into character.
Speaking to Vanity Fair magazine, Willem said: “Four hours in, two hours out every day – I’m showing up a three o’clock in the morning, sitting in the chair, meditating and trying to deal with standing still. You can’t sleep because it’s intricate enough that you’ve got to work with the people applying it.
“Then everybody else comes in at seven o’clock, and your day starts. You do a full day. Then you take it off. It’s a grind, but I liked working with a mask in there – quite literally, a mask.”
Dafoe also revealed that he was given the nickname ‘Kirk’ on set because of his alter ego’s resemblance to the late Hollywood icon Kirk Douglas.
The ‘Northman’ star recalled: “They dubbed me ‘Kirk’. They thought I looked like Kirk Douglas.”
Willem – who features in the movie alongside Emma Stone and Mark Ruffalo – had high praise for the film’s sets as they added to the authenticity of the project.
He explained: “In every spare moment, you’d just wander. I’m wandering because there are beautiful things around. Books! You’d read these books with, like, beautiful scientific diagrams.
“You had so many things that defined the world – unless you were asleep, you had to live in it. That’s ideal for an actor, because it’s like nothing else. You fold into it. Everything tells you what to do.”

James Gunn confirms that Superman: Legacy will be released in 2025 as intended

OHMYGOSSIP — James Gunn has confirmed that the release of ‘Superman: Legacy’ will not be delayed by the Hollywood strikes.
The co-chair of DC Studios is directing the new origin story that will feature David Corenswet as the legendary superhero and explained that the movie is still on track for a summer 2025 launch despite the lengthy SAG-AFTRA and Writers Guild of America strikes that have caused delays to several projects.
James wrote on the social media platform X: “Thanks to the efforts of our talented crew, who never lost faith during the longest strikes in Hollywood history, and who never let their foot off the pedal, continuing to barrel forward, creating the most amazing character and set designs I’ve seen in my entire career, ‘Superman: Legacy’ will be making the originally planned release date of July 11, 2025.”
The film has benefitted from some fortuitous timing as the filmmaker had completed the script prior to the writers’ strike while the castings of Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane were confirmed before actors took industrial action.
Plot details for the superhero movie are minimal, although Gunn has explained that the picture will focus on a younger iteration of the character played by Henry Cavill in previous films.
The 57-year-old director has also spoken of his love of Superman and his personal connection to the project.
Gunn told The Hollywood Reporter: “I completely relate to Superman because he’s everything I am.
“He’s somebody who is an outsider who feels like an alien, but also the ultimate insider, because he’s f****** Superman. And that’s kind of like what I feel like.”

Emily Atack suffered ‘several breakdowns’ making sexual harassment documentary

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Atack had “several breakdowns” during the making of her sexual harassment documentary ‘Asking For It?’.
The 33-year-old star bravely discussed her experiences of receiving abuse and unwanted advances online in the programme that aired on BBC Two in January and admits that it had a devastating impact on her mental health.
Speaking onstage at Stylist Live in London, Emily said: “To be honest, it was awful.
“The documentary coming out was a really difficult time for my family.
“There were moments I would say, ‘I don’t think I can face another day of this.’
“I had several breakdowns in the middle of it. It was rough.”
The ‘Inbetweeners’ star described it as an “awful thing” that victims of sexual harassment often blame themselves for what has happened.
She said: “The awful thing about this sort of thing is everybody blames themselves – this is why I called the documentary ‘Asking For It?'”
Emily also revealed that there have been occasions where she has been made to feel uncomfortable while working.
She explained: “I’ve found myself in awful situations, especially on film sets.
“I have had to reshape those events in my head as a coping mechanism and go, ‘Maybe that was my fault, slightly’, if a man in a position of power had abused trust.”
Emily broke down in tears during the documentary as she confessed that she felt to blame for the bombardment of unsolicited messages she gets on a daily basis.
She told her mum Kate Robbins: “I see the pain in your face when we try and talk about things.
“We can’t talk about them because it’s too difficult.”
‘Spitting Image’ star Kate replied: “It’s very difficult – the overriding feeling of guilt is a difficult one to explain to people.”
Emily then began to cry, and said: “Sorry, I don’t know why I’m getting upset I think I’m really tired. Sorry it’s just so uncomfortable.”
