Marvin Humes eliminated from I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!

OHMYGOSSIP — Marvin Humes has been eliminated from ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’
The 38-year-old pop star – who is best known for his time in JLS – had been competing in this year’s edition of the ITV1 reality show, but was voted out by the viewing public on Friday’s (08.12.23) episode just one day after he was surprised with a visit by wife Rochelle after spending three weeks in the jungle.
Speaking immediately after his exit, he told hosts Ant and Dec: “It does feel good – after yesterday, seeing Rochelle. So to leave today, is perfect. ”
The ‘Beat Again’ hitmaker – who has Alaia-Mai,10, and Valentina Raine, six, and their three-year-old son Blake Hampton with former Saturdays singer Rochelle – went on to hail the show as the “best” programme on television as he reflected that he had actually conquered a fear in having to sky-dive into the camp right back at the beginning of the series.
He said: “This is the best show on TV, you guys are incredible. The crew are world-class, and to be a part of it is unbelievable. I can’t beleive I’ve come this far – 22 days I think we’ve done now. The skydive was the thing I was most scared of, but eventually as I went over, it was the best feeling. I’d do it again. My 10-year-old girl Alaia will be happy.”
Marvin is the eighth celebrity to leave camp following the initial exits of food critics Grace Dent and Britney Spears’ sister Jamie Lynn – both of whom left the show on medical grounds – before jockey Frankie Dettori, YouTuber Nella Rose, First Dates star Fred Sirieix, Hollyoaks actor Nick Pickard and former EastEnders actress were all voted off by the public respectively.
Marvin added: We’ve had each other the whole way through, the group has been amazing. There’s not been any real beef with anyone, we’ve all got on so well.
“I’m gonna miss everyone, obviously we’ll see each other in the new year.”
Marvin’s exit means that ‘This Morning’ host Josie Gibson, politician Nigel Farage, ‘Made in Chelsea’ star Sam Thompson and boxer Tony Bellew are now the final four and will face the infamous Celebrity Cyclone trial in tomorrow night’s episode.
Asked who he would like to take the title of King or Queen of the Jungle, Marvin said: “Tony or Sam!”
‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’ continues Saturday at 9.25pm on Virgin Media One and Virgin Media Player.

Dame Esther Rantzen quits Childline after 37 years due to ill health

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Esther Rantzen is stepping back from Childline after almost four decades.
The 83-year-old presenter has been part of the organisation – which provides a counseling service for children and young people – for 37 years, and became president when she stepped down as a trustee in 2018, while she is now having to reduce her work load due to poor poor health after being diagnosed with stage four lung cancer in May this year.
Her daughter Rebecca Wilcox will now deputise her at the charity Dame Esther founded in 1986.
In a statement, the mother and daughter said: “Because of Esther’s health issues, she has sadly had to reduce her work as President, but we are both thrilled that Childline and the NSPCC have suggested that her daughter Rebecca should now deputise for her.
“She feels deeply honoured to take on this role, she has grown up with Childline and enormously values the many achievements of the service, the dedicated staff and volunteers, all working to protect and support millions of children who have nowhere else to turn.
“Rebecca has two sons, is a journalist and broadcaster and is very in touch with the challenges facing young people today.
“Rebecca is about to start training as a volunteer counsellor and is greatly looking forward to meeting as many volunteers and staff and visiting as many bases as possible.”
The service was founded by Dame Esther in 1986 following an episode of BBC show ‘That’s Life!’ when viewers were asked to take part in a survey about the creation of a programme aimed at detecting children at risk before they were in danger.
The helpline was created to let children phone for help, and in 2006 Childline merged with the NSPCC, while it added an online service three years later.
Peter Wanless, NSPCC CEO, said: “For more than 35 years Dame Esther Rantzen has been the face and the heart of Childline, working tirelessly to set-up, build and promote the service as a place where children and young people across the UK can go for free and confidential help and support.
“It is impossible to put into words the gratitude we feel for everything she does.
“We welcome Rebecca to her new role while we continue to keep Esther updated on all the great things that Childline continues to deliver.”

‘It was like a crown of thorns’: Hugh Grant loathed his role as an Oompa-Loompa in Wonka

OHMYGOSSIP — Hugh Grant “hated” playing an Oompa-Loompa in ‘Wonka’.
The 63-year-old actor stars as the diminutive, orange-faced Lofty in the new movie – a prequel to Roald Dahl’s classic story ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ – and admits that he loathed the filmmaking process that enabled animators to capture the appearance of his character.
Hugh told reporters at a press conference for the flick: “It was like a crown of thorns, very uncomfortable.
“I made a big fuss about it. I couldn’t have hated the whole thing more.”
Hugh explained that his displeasure came from not being certain whether he was supposed to act with his entire body or just through his facial expressions.
The ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’ star said: “I never received a satisfactory answer. And frankly, what I did with my body was terrible, and it’s all been replaced with an animator.”
Hugh later quipped that he is in the wrong profession and only acts because he needs the cash.
The father-of-five said: “I slightly hate (making films) but I have lots of children and need money.”
Grant’s casting was criticised by some who felt that the part should have gone to an actor with dwarfism but director Paul King insists that the crew were simply trying to honour Dahl’s description of the Oompa-Lompas.
He told BBC News: “Dahl describes (the Oompa-Loompas) as no higher than my knee or about the size of a medium size doll.
“We tried to use the iconic look that they came up with in the 1971 movie with the green hair and the orange skin, and merge that with the way Dahl described them, in a way I think they may have done, had they had the technology we have today.”

Emily Blunt lauds life-changing The Devil Wears Prada

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Blunt has hailed ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ as the movie that “changed my life”.
The 40-year-old actress played the role of Emily Charlton in the 2006 movie and is amazed at how popular it continues to be with audiences.
In conversation with co-star Anne Hathaway for Variety’s ‘Actors on Actors’ series, Emily said: “We just had a joy bomb of a time on that movie. I don’t know if any of us knew it was going to become what it did. It’s quoted to me every week. It will be the movie that changed my life.”
The ‘Jungle Cruise’ star also recalled how cruelly she treated Anne’s character Andrea ‘Andy’ Sachs in the picture set in the world of fashion.
Emily said: “I would laugh all the time because I was so horrible to you most of the time in this movie. And it was your little face – this beautiful, slightly baffled face.”
Meanwhile, Anne recalled how she was taken aback by the improvisational abilities of Emily and fellow cast members Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci.
The 41-year-old actress said: “I remember seeing Meryl come up with 18 different lines on the spot. Stanley Tucci was doing the same, and you. I was just like this kindergartner who was like, ‘How are they all so good?'”
Meanwhile, Anne had high praise for Emily’s performance in ‘Oppenheimer’ as Katherine ‘Kitty’ Oppenheimer – the wife of Cillian Murphy’s J. Robert Oppenheimer and a former member of the Communist Party USA.
The ‘Eileen’ star said: “With ‘Oppenheimer’, I’m at a loss for words. You are so wonderful in it. I was so proud of you.
“This character Kitty is so different from you. She’s like a dying star. Kitty contracts around her life rather than opening to it. Then, when she finally does open, you realise, oh God, the pain and indignity she lived with.”

Emmerdale star Mark Charnock teases Marlon Dingle’s future in ‘never done before’ story

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Charnock has teased a “never been done before” story for Marlon Dingle on ‘Emmerdale’.
The 55-year-old actor, who has played Marlon on the ITV soap since 1996, has revealed his character will be pushed to his limits in his next story arch, as he and wife Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) grapple with their responsibilities when Lucy brings over the newly-born Ivy, who is Rhona’s biological daughter.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, Mark said: “From Rhona’s point of view, she has this undeniable biological connection [to the baby] that she can’t deny.
“Marlon, has finally got to a place where after all this searching he’s finally got this perfect family unit. He’s been very ill, he’s got past that, and finally they’re in this place we can move forward now. And then this thing happens.
“Even though he worships the floor she [Rhona] walks on, he’s going to find it really hard to resolve himself to her obsession. I’m not even sure this story has been done before this way and it feels like we’re on the cusp of something.
“The cracks on the ice are going to form and go in all sorts of different directions. The possibilities for this story are endless. It’s thrilling to be a part of it and to see where it could go.”
The soap star has also weighed in on whether or not he believed Rhona and Marlon’s relationship can survive this bombshell, and he admitted it could go either way.
He added: “I think so. Who knows? We haven’t had the scripts yet, I might find out next week that they’re not!
“I would hope that they’ve both been through so much each individually that you’d thing being together now they’d be stronger. But something like this is so heavy and so divisive and almost impossible to imagine the connotations of it. There could be any outcome to this story.
“I think Marlon wants what’s best for her, but he’s scared of what having that baby in their lives might mean.”

Nikita Kuzmin broke down in tears after Layton Williams’ Strictly performance

OHMYGOSSIP — Nikita Kuzmin was reduced to tears by Layton Williams’ ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ performance.
The 25-year-old professional dancer, who has been paired up with the ‘Bad Education’ star on the current series of the BBC’s Latin and ballroom competition, has admitted he began to cry after realising how proud he was of Layton.
Appearing on Wednesday’s (06.12.23) episode of spin off show ‘It Takes Two’, Nikita said: “To be fair he danced so well that night and became so much of a true American Latin dancer I became emotional.”
Host Janette Manrara then asked the dancer if he shed a tear, and he added: “Yes. It’s just really lovely when your student is really hungry and wants to learn.”
The dancing star also explained that he and Layton were incredibly proud of themselves for their performance last weekend, as they were awarded 40 points – the highest possible score.
He said: “We have been trying to push every single week and come up with something new and I’ve been pushing him and holding him to high standards and that night we said we wouldn’t think about the scores, and we weren’t actually shooting for anything.
“We were going out there to do ourselves and our families proud. The moment we let it go it came to us.
“It was special, and I loved it. He came in and wanted to learn it and I get passionate when people want to learn.”

Shirley Ballas had to go commando for Strictly Come Dancing job interview

OHMYGOSSIP — Shirley Ballas ended up going commando for her ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ job interview.
The 63-year-old ballroom dancer, who became the head judge for the BBC in 2017, admitted her interview for the programme did not get off to the best start, because she had to remove her knickers after an ice pack leaked whilst she was suffering from sciatica, which causes pain in the lower back.
When the Metro newspaper’s Sixty Seconds column asked what her most embarrassing moment was, Shirley said: “I had one of my interviews for ‘Strictly’. I’d flown in from the United States and I had bad sciatica. I was in terrible pain.
“I had to go straight to the BBC studios and I had those big girl knickers on. They decided to give me ice, so they got an ice pack, put it round my hip, bandaged it up, and I got my knickers on and my lovely long dress.
“Then the water started to leak – it leaked all the way over my pants … I didn’t have a spare pair, so I sat and did my interview knickerless!”
Unfortunately for the judge, this wasn’t the only embarrassing knickers story she had, as the judge revealed that her co-star Anton Du Beke had exposed her “big girl panties” to the audience on the BBC programme.
She recalled: “On the tour, he came up to my room and said, ‘You read, our Shirl?’ I said, “I’m just popping my hair up, I’ll be out in a moment.’
“I’d just bought these big girl panties. They were massive – they go right underneath your boobs. He stole a pair and put them in the top pocket of his tuxedo – [he] never told me.
“Then we went out on stage, I’m looking all glamourous, and he’s saying to the public, ‘Doesn’t she look lovely?’ They’re clapping and he goes, ‘I just want you to know that she wears these kind of kickers’, and he pulled them out.
“That’s Anton! He can be a bit of a naughty boy.”
Meanwhile, Shirley has insisted she doesn’t have any “favourites” on the show ballroom show, and puts her faith in the viewers.
She explained: “Absolutely not! I don’t do favourites, darling. At the end of the day, I have full faith that the public, who have been watching the show for 20-odd years, will pick the right winner.”

Phillip Schofield ‘declined’ to take part in review following ITV exit

OHMYGOSSIP — Phillip Schofield “reluctantly declined” to take part in an external review following his ITV departure.
The former ‘This Morning’ presenter quit the show – which he fronted for just over two decades – after he admitted to an “unwise but not illegal” affair with a younger male colleague, who also refused to participate in the review.
A report by Jane Mulcahy KC was published on Thursday (07.12.23) and revealed staff at ITV still feared that speaking out about certain issues could “have a detrimental impact on their careers”.
In a letter in August, Schofield’s lawyer said the star “reluctantly declined” to participate because of the “risk to his health”.
They added that his “mental health has since deteriorated”.
Mulcahy explained that a letter from the young man’s own lawyers said he “wanted to move on with his life and was not prepared to assist with this review”.
As the report was not a statutory inquiry, it means the barrister had “no power to compel people to cooperate”, meaning anyone who did take part did so voluntarily.
Of the 48 people interviewed for the review, only one reported that they knew about the affair.
The barrister added that they did not report this at the time, “nor did others report suspicions from much earlier in 2017”.
However, Mulcahy has “no doubt” that senior management at ITV are “absolutely wedded to the importance of an open culture”.
She insisted the same culture has not filtered down to junior staff, and she noted those employees need “the confidence to raise concerns to management in line with ITV’s ‘Speaking Up’ policy”.
She has recommended that the broadcaster needs clear guidelines on good behaviour “even by those who are household names”, while the review found that ITV’s management “made considerable efforts to determine the truth” about the affair.
However, it noted that in the “face of the denials of the individuals involved, ITV was unable to uncover the relevant evidence”.
ITV’s chairman Andy Cosslett said: “We are completely committed to creating an environment where everyone is treated with respect and feels able to give of their best.
“Our promise to those we work with is that where a complaint is made, or serious concerns raised, we will always investigate and if we find that something inappropriate has happened, we will take action.
“We will continue to develop our efforts to give junior colleagues the confidence to speak up if they have something to raise.”

Danielle Harold is fifth star to be voted off ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’

OHMYGOSSIP — Danielle Harold is the fifth star to be voted off ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’
The ‘EastEnders’ actress, 31, who played Lola Pearce on the BBC soap, got the boot from the ITV jungle when she ended up in the bottom two of a public vote with Tony Bellew.
Hosts Ant and Dec revealed she was leaving, with the star then telling the pair her campmates “got her through” the challenges of jungle life.

Danielle was described as a “sister” by her campmate Sam Thompson as she walked out of the camp, and she said: “He has literally become a little brother to me.
Her exit comes after actor Nick Pickard became the fourth star to be given his marching orders from ‘IAC’ on Wednesday after 19 days in the jungle – after Fred, Nella Rose and jockey Frankie Dettori were dumped from the show.
Restaurant critic Grace Dent and Britney Spear’s younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears both left the show before the eliminations on medical grounds.
Nick’s exit left fans devastated as they hailed him a “nice guy” on social media after he was dumped from the series.
The ‘Hollyoaks’ actor, who plays Tony Hutchison on the long-running Channel 4 soap, was eliminated from the ITV jungle show on Wednesday (06.12.23) night’s episode of the series, after he lost out to Josie Gibson in the public vote after they both came “bottom two” in the latest elimination.
He said during his exit chat his family who persuaded him to go on the show, adding: “I’ve never been asked before, it was an honour to be asked… it was great, it was so much fun.”
Nick also said he is rooting for ‘Made In Chelsea’ regular Sam to win the 2023 series, gushing about his former campmate: “(He) deserves it. Well, they all deserve it, but he does and I think he really wants to… he’s the lifeblood of that camp.”

Despite his shock exit – which was met with shock by floods of his fans on social media – Nick arrived with a smile on his face for his exit interview with hosts Ant and Dec.
He said his family who persuaded him to go on the show, adding: “I’ve never been asked before, it was an honour to be asked… it was great, it was so much fun.”
Nick added he is rooting for ‘Made In Chelsea’ regular Sam Thompson to win the 2023 series, gushing about his former campmate: “(He) deserves it. Well, they all deserve it, but he does and I think he really wants to… he’s the lifeblood of that camp.”
The actor then walked across the ‘I’m A Celebrity…’ bridge, where he was greeted with a hug from his girlfriend Sarah Corrin.
Fans said they were “devastated” to see Nick go, with many calling him a “lovely guy”.
‘First Dates’ star Fred Sirieix was the third star to be voted out the camp on Tuesday (05.12.23), after the exits by YouTube influencer Nella Rose and Frankie Dettori.
Britney Spears’ sister Jamie Lynn Spears and Grace Dent both exited the jungle after separately quitting on medical grounds, with seven campmates now remaining.
Fred had a drama-filled time in camp after clashing with Nigel Farage over Brexit, rowing with Josie Gibson about the cooking and being branded offensive by Nella for saying was old enough to be her dad – which she took badly as both her parents have died.

I’m a Celebrity viewers can be ‘swayed’ by editing, says Katie Price

OHMYGOSSIP — Katie Price believes ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ viewers can be “swayed” by the editing process.
The 45-year-old TV star appeared on the ITV show back in 2004, and Katie has claimed that the editing can have a huge influence over the outcome of the series.
She told GB News: “A lot of the editing can be swayed by who they want to sway to win.”
Katie also revealed that she’s fond of current ‘I’m a Celebrity’ contestant Nigel Farage.
The TV star insisted that “everyone deserves a chance”.
She shared: “I’ve met Nigel a few times, he has interviewed me. I like Nigel. The politics side, I stay out of, but as a person, I have no problem with him and I like him.
“What people have got to remember, when you’re in that jungle, it shouldn’t matter what you do as a living.
“You’re all in it together, surviving. I think it is a way to get to know a person. He is a human being at the end of the day, and everyone deserves a chance.”
Nigel, 59, has reportedly received a record fee for his appearance on the show.
However, an insider recently claimed that ITV bosses have been underwhelmed by his impact so far.
The source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “People I know working on the show think Farage is one of the least interesting campmates ever.
“He is very boring and producers have struggled with fun storylines to show a different side to him.
“He’s good for Brexit and culture wars stuff, but outside of that, the local wildlife is more entertaining than he is.
“One example is a few of them were talking about their favourite movies and he couldn’t come up with a single one! Politics is his life and basically outside of that he’s got no personality.”

Ben Whishaw reveals his acting inspiration

OHMYGOSSIP — Ben Whishaw felt inspired to become an actor after watching a Samuel Beckett play.
The 43-year-old star has revealed that he quit university and decided to pursue an acting career after watching ‘Waiting for Godot’.
Ben – who is now set to star in a new West End production of the play – told BBC News: “When I was 18 I was doing an art foundation course in Bedford and went one night with a friend to London to see a play that was part of a season of plays by Samuel Beckett at the Barbican Theatre. The play was ‘Waiting for Godot’.
“The next day I dropped out of my art course, having decided I wanted to study acting instead. I am unbelievably thrilled and excited – and a little terrified too – to be having this chance to perform Beckett’s utterly radical and incredibly beautiful play.”
Ben – who has played the role of Q in three James Bond movies – described working with the likes of Lucian Msamati and James Macdonald as a “dream”.
The actor shared: “[The play] has haunted me since that night 25 years ago. And to get to do it with Lucian Msamati and James Macdonald … well, that’s just a dream.”
Despite his fame and success, Ben previously revealed that he still suffers from shyness and he hates speaking in public.
He told the Irish Times newspaper: “I don’t find acting helps.
“A nightmare situation for me would be to have to make an impromptu speech at someone’s wedding. Whenever I feel like someone I know might be about to ask me to do it, I say: ‘Nope! Nope! Nope! Nope! Go away!’ … Even the thought of reading a prepared speech terrifies me.”

Ryan Reynolds wants to ‘preserve the magic’ of Deadpool 3

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Reynolds is determined to preserve the “magic” of ‘Deadpool 3’.
The 47-year-old actor – who has enjoyed huge success with the ‘Deadpool’ film franchise – has taken to social media after some behind-the-scenes photos from the set recently leaked online.
Responding to the photo leak, Ryan wrote on Instagram: “Surprises are part of the magic of theatrical movies. It’s important for us to shoot the new DEADPOOL film in real, natural environments, using practical effects as opposed to making the movie indoors and digitally. Telephoto lenses continue to spoil surprises and create a difficult situation for everyone.
“Here’s hoping some of the websites and social channels hold back showing images before they’re ready. The film is built for audience joy – and our highest hope is to preserve as much of that magic as possible for the finished film and the big screen. Part of the reason people post spoilers is because they’re excited. I realize these aren’t real world issues and it’s firmly in the ‘good problems’ bucket.
“I love making this movie. (sic)”
Ryan stars alongside Hugh Jackman in ‘Deadpool 3’, and he previously admitted that he’s relished working with his showbiz pal.
Ryan told ‘ET Canada’: “It’s been fun. He and I are both really excited. We’ve wanted to do this for a decade. So, to have this opportunity now is, I think actually weirdly, the perfect time.”
Ryan also admitted to “pestering” Hugh about joining the franchise.
He said: “I never stopped. I was just pestering him like a gnat over the last many years. I actually just think … I believe in timing … and I think he was ready.”
