Georgia Toffolo suffered ‘light trolling’ amid her acne battle

OHMYGOSSIP — Georgia Toffolo has experienced some “light trolling” because of her acne struggles.
The 29-year-old star – who is widely known as Toff – has struggled with acne for years and her skin issues have actually undermined her self-confidence at times.
Toff – who appeared on ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’ in 2017 – told MailOnline: “My skin was something that made me feel less than confident, really.
“I had a bit of light trolling when I came out of the jungle. But I did this amazing feature on ‘This Morning’ and it was really simple: I just took off my make-up.
“I was so worried about what people would say about my acne. But I just carried on. I looked down the barrel of the camera. I said some of the nasty things that I’ve read across socials, and it had such an impact.
“From that day on, the trolling seemed to evaporate.”
Earlier this year, Toff admitted that she previously lived in fear of people discovering the severity of her acne.
The TV star actually covered herself in layers of make-up in order to hide her skin troubles.
On the ITV documentary ‘In Search Of Perfect Skin’, Toff shared: “I had such a horrendously low opinion of myself. It was like hatred, anger, why, why do you have this?
“Going back to that time I actually feel quite upset because it is something that I don’t really talk about now.
“I always assumed the acne would go as I got older. It didn’t and things became even harder when I found fame on a reality TV show.”

The 31-year-old actress loved her time in the Australian jungle, where she developed a good relationship with the former leader of the UK Independence Party.

“That’s what’s amazing about the jungle is it doesn’t matter what you do for a living.
“It doesn’t matter what your views and opinions are, you are just human beings and you just get to know each other for how you care for one another.
“That was the beauty of being in there with people, I had such a great bond with everybody individually was great.”
Danielle joked that cleaning Nigel’s pants in the creek was the “highlight of [her] life”.
The actress – who is best known for playing Lola Pearce on ‘EastEnders’ – said: “Nige, I’ve done his washing for him everyday.
“It’s not everyday you can say you’ve washed Nigel Farage’s pants in a creek, is it? Yeah, definitely a highlight of my life.
“Everybody had their own little job as soon as we got in. I was really surprised with how quick we took over camp.
“You know like everyone just found their job and no argument I’m not doing this you don’t do this. Nigel was up and down that creek with them buckets of water like I’ve never seen someone before.
“I was doing all the washing, Nick doing the fire, he made us our own washing line, he made us a broom. That man needs his own eco range!”

Love Island’s Camilla Thurlow pregnant with third child

OHMYGOSSIP — Camilla Thurlow is pregnant.
The 34-year-old former ‘Love Island’ star has confirmed she’s expecting her third child with husband Jamie Jewitt after meeting on the ITV dating show back in 2017 and she’s revealed the couple’s new baby is going to be a boy after they previously welcomed two daughters.
In a post on Instagram, Camilla shared her joy by writing: “Our lovely girls are getting a baby brother ! Delighted to share our little family is growing, baby boy due in Spring 2024, it’s going to be a busy house!”
She added a video which showed the couple and their daughters – daughters Nell, three, and Nora, who is almost two – with an ultrasound picture and a chalk board emblazoned with the words: “Big sister 101, with brand new module, BOYS, final exam, May 2024.”
The clip suggests the new baby is due in May.
Camilla and Jamie became a couple after meeting on ‘Love Island’ and they went on to become parents to Nell in October 2020. Jamie proposed to the TV beauty just months later by putting their little girl into a onesie emblazoned with the words: “Mummy will you marry my daddy?”
The couple married in September 2021 and they announced their second pregnancy just months later in December of that year and Nora arrived last summer.
Camilla previously revealed she feels a lot of “pressure” as a celebrity mum, telling OK! magazine: “Whether you’re in the spotlight or not, there is so much pressure on making sure you do the right thing as a mum. You just want to know your baby is happy, and that they’re soothed and comforted.
“Once you figure out what’s right for your family, in terms of a routine, it’s important to focus on that. Not all babies are the same and not all families are the same – it’s about finding the right thing for you.”
She added of her husband: “Jamie and I are a team. It’s good to be a team, especially if it’s going to be the two of them versus the two of us.”

Keeley Hawes leads cast of Miss Austen

OHMYGOSSIP — Keeley Hawes will lead the cast of ‘Miss Austen’.
The BBC has acquired the rights to Gill Hornby’s best-selling novel, which focuses on the life and loves of Jane Austen and her sister Cassandra, including the mystery of why the author’s sibling burned her letters, and the ‘Bodyguard’ star will play Cassandra opposite Patsy Ferran as the writer, and Rose Leslie as her friend Isabella.
Sue Deeks, head of BBC programme acquisition, said: “Miss Austen is the perfect blend of intriguing mystery, vivid and engaging characters and beguiling period charm – BBC viewers certainly have a treat in store.”
Executive producer Christine Langan added: “To have this hugely entertaining female-driven story told by such a stellar cast, led by Keeley Hawes, as Bonnie Productions’ first drama is genuinely a dream come true.
“Gill Hornby has found an ingenious way into the Austen world, creating female characters modern audiences can empathise with and delight in.
“I’m so honoured to be bringing this wonderful novel to the screen in collaboration with the deeply talented trio of writer, Andrea Gibb, director, Aisling Walsh and producer, Stella Merz.”
An official plot synopsis explained the story will be told through flashbacks.
It stated: “The drama begins in 1830, a while after Jane has died. Cassandra (Keeley Hawes) races to see her young friend Isabella (Rose Leslie), who is about to lose her home following her father’s death.
“Cassandra is ostensibly there to help her friend, but her real motive is to find a stash of private letters which, in the wrong hands, could destroy Jane’s reputation. On discovering them, Cassandra is overwhelmed as she is transported back to her youth.
“In flashback, we meet Young Cassy and Jane (Patsy Ferran) as they navigate the infatuations, family feuds and dashed hopes which shaped their lives and laid the foundations for Jane’s unforgettable stories.
“Cassandra’s re-evaluation of her past eventually leads her to realise how blind she has been to the real cause of Isabella’s heartache and distress.
“Finding a way to guide Isabella towards true happiness, Cassandra is finally able to understand and celebrate the sacrifices she chose to make for her brilliant sister, Jane.”
‘Miss Austin’ will also star the likes of Jessica Hynes, Mirren Mack, Phyllis Logan, Kevin McNally, Max Irons, Alfred Enoch, Liv Hill and Calam Lynch.

‘I look forward to playing a grandfather soon’: Mark Wahlberg embraces ageing on film

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Wahlberg can’t wait to play a grandfather.
The 52-year-old actor – who has children Ella, 20, Michael, 17, Brendan, 15, and 13-year-old Grace with wife Rhea Durham – is happy to “embrace” his advancing years and while he believes other stars are more keen to play younger than their real age, he’s excited at the prospect of taking on older roles.
He told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “I’m a dad now – embracing my old age, a lot of guys my age in the business would probably say, ‘Well, that character has grown kids or kids in their late teens, I don’t want to play that role.’ I’m embracing that.
“I look forward to playing a grandfather soon.”
Mark can next be seen in ‘The Family Plan’, in which his character Dan Morgan leaves his life as a top assassin behind to devote himself to his family, but his past eventually catches up with him, forcing him, his wife – who is played by Michelle Monaghan – and their three children to fight for their lives.
And the ‘Fighter’ star fell for the script straight away.
He said: “I just thought it was really fun. I think you see a lot of action movies – especially a lot of action comedies – and they don’t have as much character as this one had.
“I thought it was very interesting to find the family dynamic.”
And despite all the jokes in the action comedy, Mark promised viewers who are interested in the physical elements of the movie won’t be disappointed.
He said: “We wanted to make it feel very real when shooting it practically. We’re putting the actors, including myself, in these situations as much as possible.
“You want it to feel super cool but also be grounded enough that it’s believable. I’ve worked with these guys quite a bit and they are the best at what they do and of course we have assembled the best stunt team and best doubles so we made some very cool action sequences.”

Meryl Streep nearly missed Devil Wears Prada role over fears she’s ‘not funny’

OHMYGOSSIP — Meryl Streep nearly lost her role in ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ over fears she wasn’t “funny” enough.
The Hollywood veteran landed the part of fearsome fashion boss Miranda Priestly in the hit 2006 film opposite Anne Hathaway as her assistant but the movie’s producer Wendy Finerman has now admitted she faced some push back for casting Meryl.
Speaking during an appearance on the ‘Hollywood Gold’ podcast, Wendy explained: “Meryl, people thought we were crazy. I mean, I had people call me up and say, ‘Are you out of your mind? She’s never been funny a day in her life.’
“But this was clearly a different kind of world for her, and I think that that was part of the fun of the unexpected.”
Wendy went on to cite that although the actress was mostly known for her serious and dramatic roles, she had also played funny turns in movies such as ‘She-Devil’ and ‘Death Becomes Her’.
Meryl previously admitted she was “so depressed” during filming because she adopted an acting style which meant she kept an icy relationship with her co-stars Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt, and afterwards she vowed never to go “Method” again.
She told Entertainment Weekly: “It was horrible! I was [miserable] in my trailer. I could hear them all rocking and laughing. I was so depressed! I said: ‘Well, it’s the price you pay for being boss!’ That’s the last time I ever attempted a Method thing!”
Blunt concurred in an interview with The Independent newspaper, saying: “Do you know she’s never done Method acting since? She said it made her so miserable on this one, because we were all having a party on the other side of the set. And she was like: ‘I won’t do this again’.”

“They weigh you at certain points during the trials and things because there are weight restrictions like on the Critter Mixer and I was trying to look(at the scales) but the medic wouldn’t show me.
“So it makes it all the more interesting when you come out.”
The soap actor also revealed that he’s received a lot of advice regarding his diet after leaving the jungle.
He explained: “One of the ladies said to me, when I was in there, [she] said to me to be careful what I ate when I came out today because I had been on a balanced diet.

Love Island is setting the wrong example, says Paddy McGuinness

OHMYGOSSIP — Paddy McGuinness thinks ‘Love Island’ is “setting the wrong example” to the British public.
The 50-year-old TV star believes that the ITV show is putting unrealistic pressures and expectations on viewers.
Paddy – who previously hosted the ITV dating show ‘Take Me Out’ – told the ‘Restless Natives’ podcast: “Body image-wise, you’re setting the wrong example with ‘Love Island’.
“‘Take Me Out’, we used to have tall lads, small lads, chubby lads – it was the same with the girls.
“That’s one of the things I said to the producer – we can’t have 30 ‘worldies’, it’s just not real life.
“I like that it was a Saturday night thing and you’d be watching it and somebody on there would look like you.”
Paddy previously described ‘Take Me Out’ as the “most successful British dating show ever”.
Speaking to Digital Spy, he added: “[It] beats everything. It might be one of the most successful in the world.”
Paddy also revealed that he could easily relate to the show’s contestants.
He explained: “What I say for some of the lads – especially if they’re doing a really random item on stage – I say, ‘Look, I’ve done a dating show years ago. So don’t worry about it. Whatever you’re thinking, it’s ten times worse what I’ve done.’
“That’s what I like about the show – it doesn’t pretend that it’s something it’s not.”
Asked if he would have gone on the show during his younger years, Paddy replied: “Yeah. I did ‘God’s Gift’, and I were about 19 or 20.
“I was a lifeguard, and in the staff room they put a notice up saying ‘ITV looking for lifeguards for this show’. And we were all like ‘We’re having a bit of that’. And we all went down there and did auditions and I was the only one who got on. And at the time I was like ‘Yes, have that lads’, and now I’m going ‘Oh God. Why?'”

She said: “When I saw him he had so much joy naturally.
“When the music played, he just wanted to dance and I saw so much passion and he maybe wasn’t the best dancer in the group, but what I did see was so much talent – and I knew that with a little bit of coaching he would be brilliant and I have been proven to be right.
“We are so close and to be pipped at the post now, would be really disheartening.”
Bobby previously revealed that he was looking forward to appearing on ‘Strictly’.
The actor – who joined the ‘EastEnders’ cast in 2022 – told the BBC: “I’m so excited to be part of the ‘Strictly’ line-up, I can’t wait to start training like a professional dancer and adding a few moves to my locker.

‘It’s surreal’: Paapa Essiedu was gobsmacked by Melissa McCarthy’s acting skills in Genie

OHMYGOSSIP — Paapa Essiedu had an “out of body experience” working with Melissa McCarthy on ‘Genie’.
The 33-year-old actor features as Bernard – a workaholic who attempts to win his family back before the Christmas celebrations with the help of the magical genie Flora – in the Richard Curtis-scripted movie and found it “surreal” to see the ‘Bridesmaids’ star add even more the picture with her acting ability.
Speaking on ‘The Graham Norton Show’, Paapa said: “Obviously when you do a movie penned by Richard Curtis you know the script is unbeatable, but then Melissa comes along, rips it up and adds so much.
“It’s surreal, she is an elite improviser, and I had an out of body experience watching her. I had to remind myself to act. It was the great learning experience for me. She is brilliant.”
‘Genie’ is a remake of Richard’s 1991 TV movie ‘Bernard and the Genie’ and explained how he first had the idea to re-write the project soon after it was released.
The ‘Love Actually’ screenwriter told Sky News: “Funnily enough, I actually wrote my sort of first draft of this about five years after the original film, and then I let it lie.
“And I just thought I would love to do another Christmas movie, and so I took it out and refreshed it in many ways, particularly having a female Genie and moving it to New York.
“But it’s been in my head for a long time and I always think the best projects are the ones that have had time to stew.”

Anton Du Beke ‘wanted to become the next John Le Carre’

OHMYGOSSIP — Anton Du Beke “wanted to be the next John Le Carre”.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star – who sits on the judging panel alongside Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel-Horwood and Motsi Mabus – has revealed that he wanted to emulate the career of the late legendary spy novelist, but Anton ultimately realised that he was more suited to romance writing.
Anton, 57, told the Daily Express newspaper: “When I started writing, I wanted to be the next John le Carre.
“I love spy novels, you see. But after my second book, ‘Moonlight Over Mayfair’, was nominated for the Romantic Historical Novel of the Year Award I realised romance was more my thing.”
Anton loves creating novels and he always gets “completely wrapped up in the process”.
He said: “I love writing my books – although strictly speaking, I talk into a dictaphone and have a wonderful assistant who types my words out for me.
“I get completely wrapped up in the process. I love the history – especially the upstairs/downstairs aspect of it, the romance, the dancing element to the books.”
Anton actually compared the experience to “discovering Narnia”, the fictional world created by CS Lewis.
He said: “I liken the experience to opening a wardrobe, stepping inside and discovering Narnia. Anything and everything is possible. It totally fires up my imagination. People and the lives they live – or have lived – totally fascinate me.
“When people read ‘The Paris Affair’ or any of my books, I want them to react in the same way they do when they listen to music they love. To totally immerse themselves in it.
“To step inside the story and imagine themselves there – the Paris of the 1920s or London of the 1940s.”

None of them have come near him since – it was just delightful, delightful company.
“And a very modest, man. You didn’t see him going anywhere and go ‘Oh, I’m Michael Parkinson!’ And he’d walk in well dressed. And good fun. I mean, grateful.
“And last week at the house with young Michael, his son and I said, ‘Oh, I’ll go now, you’re getting a bit tired’, he said ‘OK. Thanks for coming. Do you want lunch next week?’ I said ‘You arrange it, and I’ll be there.’
“And unfortunately I won’t.”
