Beth Tweddle is engaged

OHMYGOSSIP — Beth Tweddle has got engaged.
The 31-year-old retired gymnast was left speechless when her long-term boyfriend Andy Allen popped the question with a huge diamond ring whilst they were in Brazil for the Rio Olympics over the summer months.
Speaking to Hello! magazine, the star said: “I was totally shocked! I knew he was the one for me, but I had absolutely no inkling of what he was planning to do, or that he’d been brought a diamond ring with him to Rio. It was a moment I will never forget. I am so excited about the future.”
Beth’s exciting engagement is a wonderful end to a traumatic year after she spent four months in hospital at the beginning of 2016 when she fractured her spine on ‘The Jump’.
The brunette beauty had to undergo spinal surgery after she crashed into a barrier when landing from a jump on the winter sports show back in January, and has admitted she still finds it tough to talk about the accident.
She said: “I am still seeing a psychologist to process what happened and am working with my physiotherapist and surgeon at getting full range in the neck and getting everything to strength. It’s still quite a long road.”
The star believes she wouldn’t have got through her injury without her new fiancé as he has stuck by her when she was “really struggling.”
She said: “He is the one waking me up and seeing me sobbing my heart out. My parents and friends have been there for me but Andy is the one who sees me at night when I am really struggling.”
The news of the proposal comes after Beth recently admitted she wouldn’t let the crash hold her back, and she would continue to live her life as normal.
She said previously: “I don’t want this accident to define me. I want to be able to go out there and do what I normally do. I love working with children and inspiring them to achieve their dreams. I’m glad to say I pushed through it.”

Blair Witch flops at box office

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Blair Witch’ has flopped at the box office.
The sequel to the 1999 horror movie ‘The Blair Witch Project’ hit cinema screens on Friday (16.09.16), but its opening weekend failed to impress when it only managed to pull in an estimated $9.65 million.
However, it wasn’t all doom and gloom though, as writer Simon Barrett and director Adam Wingard are remaining in good spirits about their box office disaster and have both taking to the Twitter accounts to mock the film fail.
Simon, 37, tweeted: “Well, our horror film may have been a disappointment at the box office this weekend, but at least we got overwhelmingly negative reviews. (sic)”
To which Adam, 33, replied: “@Simon_Barrett bro I told you we shoulda made that movie about the boring guy who landed a plane in water instead. (sic)”
The “boring guy” referenced by the director is Chesley Sullenburger, the main character played by Tom Hanks in the movie ‘Sully’.
In the same weekend, ‘Sully’ managed to rake in a whopping $22 million, leaving ‘Blair Witch’ in second place and over $10 million behind the biopic.
Adam also joked that he had turned down working on the hugely successful biopic because it “wasn’t found footage”.
He said: “Not many people know this but Simon and I turned down making ‘Sully’ because it wasn’t found footage. (sic)”
Simon – who previously worked with Adam on ‘You’re Next’ and ‘The Guest’ – followed up his tweets by insisting he was “hugely proud” of the movie they had made.
He said: “To clarify, I’m hugely proud of our film. But if you can’t be sardonically maudlin on Twitter, I’m totally unclear what this site is for. (sic)”

Dame Maggie Smith joins Downton Abbey movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Maggie Smith has signed up to the forthcoming big screen adaption of ‘Downton Abbey’.
The masterminds behind the popular series have been given the go-ahead to turn the period drama into a blockbuster, and producers have already secured their first cast member.
Speaking to the DailyMail.co.uk, Michael Fox – who portrayed Andy Parker in the series – confirmed that the 81-year-old actress will reprise her role as Violet Crawley.
He added to the publication: “She elevates it to something else, because she is such a legend and a national treasure.
“The film without her would still be good with all the other actors, but it puts a stamp of quality with her in it.”
News that Maggie has agreed to appear in the movie version of the ITV series will no doubt come as a shock to fans as she admitted last year that she didn’t think she’d be able to as Violet was “too old.”
Asked whether she would appear in a movie version of the period drama, she said: “I can’t – what age would she be?”
Viewers were thrown into mourning last Christmas when ‘Downton…’ came to a dramatic end following five years on screen but creator Julian Fellowes has always shared his burning desire to turn the drama into a film one day.
However, the 67-year-old director hinted that he was waiting on vital cast members – believed to be Hugh Bonneville and Michelle Dockery – to free up their schedules for filming.
He said recently: “Let’s just say it’s not me slowing things down. The difficulty is rounding up the actors. One is in America making a new series, another is in a play … My lips are sealed! It’s very unlikely there won’t be a film because there is an audience out there for it. I do hope there is going to be a ‘Downton Abbey’ film. It’s going to be fun once everything is sorted but we just need to restructure it.”
It’s believed filming for the movie will kick off next year.

X Factor judges' categories revealed

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘X Factor’ contestants discovered who their mentors are on Sunday’s (18.09.16) show.
After a gruelling bootcamp, half of the acts were sent home while the others finally found out who will be in charge of their categories as the competition continues.
Simon Cowell revealed himself as mentor to the Girls, while Nicole Scherzinger takes charge of the Boys.
Sharon Osbourne has the Overs category and Louis Walsh was given his favourite section, the Groups.
Meanwhile, the newly-added ‘wall of songs’ brought even more drama to the bootcamp process.
Simon explained: “There are 50 songs, each song is repeated three times. You select the song you want and then you will match up with the other two acts you’re going to end up with.
“When you’re working with whoever you are working with, work as a team, but also understand that they are your competition as well.”
Girl group Skarl3t abandoned their fellow performers Kayleigh Marie Morgan and Tinuke to rehearse alone, claiming they had been “stuck with parts of the song we weren’t familiar with”.
While Skarl3t impressed, Simon called them “a nightmare to work with”.
James Wilson also caused chaos when he disappeared before he was due on stage.
The contestant left his fellow performers Samantha Atkinson and Rebekah Ryan in trouble when he left the audition venue at Alexandra Palace in north London in order to go back to the hotel after his nerves got the best of him.
However, he managed to make it back on time to perform and the trio impressed the judges, with all making it through to the Six Chair Challenge next week.

Billie Faiers pregnant with second child

OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Faiers is pregnant.
The former ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star – who already has a two-year-old daughter Nelly with fiancé Greg Shepherd – took to Instagram on Sunday (18.09.16) to reveal her exciting news.
Posting a picture of her, Nelly and Greg, with Nelly reaching out to touch her stomach, Billie wrote: “And then there were four…”
The pregnancy announcement comes just a few months after Billie revealed she was hoping to give Nelly a little brother after watching her sister Sam with her son Paul Jr.
She said: “I always thought in my head that I’m always going to have girls but now that I’ve seen Samantha with Paul, I would actually love to have a boy.
“It would be so nice to experience having one of each but on the flip side, it would be really nice for Nelly to have a sister as well because then it would be kind of like how Samantha and I were. When Samantha brings the baby over, Greg loves it, he actually really suits having a boy. Greg has already bought two mini football nets for him and Nelly, which is funny.
“We desperately want a sibling for Nelly sooner rather than later. I feel like with Greg, it’s so much more fun for him now that she is old enough that he can play with her.
“Nelly’s such a daddy’s girl but when she was a baby, Greg used to just sit there and cuddle her for a bit so I think women enjoy the newborn stage more. He just can’t wait to have more children and have a bigger family.”
However, the 26-year-old reality TV star admitted she needs to teach Nelly how to share before they have another baby.
She said: “She needs to start learning how to share. Where it’s just her, sometimes when other children come over they’ll play with something that she hasn’t touched for months and go, ‘That’s mine.’ ”

Vicky Pattison to present I'm A Celebrity spin-off

OHMYGOSSIP — Vicky Pattison is reportedly set to present ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here Now!’.
The reality TV star – who won the ITV show last year – has been chosen to replace Laura Whitmore on the spin-off programme, which is the reason why she recently decided to walk away from her role on the ‘Loose Women’ panel.
A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “Vicky made no secret of the fact that she would love to replace Laura. But while she was always the front- runner, ITV took their time with the decision.
“It’s only very recently that they have said they want her. Now all that remains is the formality of signing the contract.
“Vicky is beyond excited and can’t wait to get started.”
Vicky’s role on the show will be to get all of the behind-the-scenes gossip during the new series.
Meanwhile, Vicky’s former junglemate and good friend Ferne McCann recently said she wants to present ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Now!’ with the 28-year-old star.
She shared: “Obviously, the jungle is where we met. ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Now!’ would be the dream job. I think me and Vick have great banter. She’s very quick and whitty and I’m not but I bring the lols and the bants.”

Nadiya Hussain in talks to star on The Great British Bake Off

OHMYGOSSIP — Nadiya Hussain is reportedly in talks to star on the new-look ‘Great British Bake Off’.
The former champion is being lined up as a judge or a presenter on the show while TV bosses continue to search for replacement for Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins, who decided to walk away from the programme ahead of its switch from the BBC to Channel 4 in 2017.
An insider said: “Nadiya is a natural choice to get involved in some way. She’s with Love Productions, who make the show, anyway and she made her last programme, ‘Chronicles of Nadiya’, with them.
“She is hugely popular, gets great ratings, is a natural in front of the camera and knows the format and the pressures of being a contestant better than anyone.”
Mary Berry, 81, and Paul Hollywood, 50, are still to confirm whether they will continue with the programme, but talks with Nadiya are said to be at an advanced stage already.
The source told the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: “Nadiya’s got ‘it’. There are already advanced talks about how she could be involved, either as a judge or in some new role.”
Meanwhile, it has also been reported that long-time friends Holly Willoughby and Fearne Cotton could be set to replace Mel and Sue on the show.

Gemma Arterton admits it's 'easier to conform' in Hollywood

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Arterton thinks life is easier for women in Hollywood if they choose to “conform and shut up”.
The 30-year-old British actress has been an ouspoken critic against the objectification of women in the movie business and freely concedes that some people will choose not to work with her because she is seen to be “difficult”.
She explained: “It’s easier to conform and shut up. That’s the way it’s always been with women. Easier than putting yourself out there and having an opinion, to which someone might retaliate.
“I’m sure there are people who don’t want to work with me because they think I’m difficult – ‘one of those feminist girls’ – but to be honest with you I don’t want to work with them. And that’s fine. Now.”
However, Gemma conceded that in the early stages of her career, she lacked the confidence to speak out on the issue.
She told the Observer newspaper: “When I started talking about how I didn’t enjoy parts of my job, and talking about body image, I got in trouble. So I stopped.”
But Gemma claims there has been a broad sea change in recent years and she is excited to see people being more outspoken and combative.
The actress said: “A revolution is happening, but in its own quiet English way, because people work f**king hard, and it’s hard to live, and everyone’s had enough of being f**ked over.
“Look at [retailer] Philip Green – people are angry at the moment, and now they’re being encouraged to pipe up. It’s an exciting time.”

X Factor's Ottavio Columbro to have gender transition?

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘X Factor’ hopeful Ottavio Columbro is “considering” a gender transition.
The 24-year-old singer – who reunited with best friend Bradley Hunt on the show after a month not speaking in a row over undercooked chicken – insists he hasn’t yet made a “final decision” about undergoing the procedure.
Asked about reports he wants to transition, he said: “At the moment, I’m just focusing on ‘The X Factor’.
“I have been considering things, yes, but I haven’t come to any final decision yet.”
Ottavio also admitted he wants something more than friendship with Bradley, but his pal isn’t interested.
He said: “I’ve asked him out loads of times. I love Bradley. I’ve even grovelled for him. I still make little hints, saying, ‘Kiss me’ and he’s like, ‘Never.’ ”
Bradley added: “He loves me and I hate him, that’s the dynamic. He’s not my type. He’s so like me and I’d never date myself. I’d be awful to date.”
The chicken row wasn’t the first time the pals have fallen out over food.
Bradley admitted: “We’ve had other arguments involving food. Once, he was eating egg-fried rice and walking up my stairs, and I had to get the mini vacuum out and vacuum up the stairs and he was laughing at me.
“We had an argument because he leaves his disgusting tissues around my living room then…”
If they do make it to the live shows, the flamboyant singers have big plans for their performances.
Bradley told heat magazine: “If we get to the live shows, we’d like to fly in over the audience in a harness. I want to fly over my nan and say, ‘Hiya’.”

Annette Badland set to exit EastEnders

OHMYGOSSIP — Annette Badland is set to exit ‘EastEnders’.
The actress has played Aunt Babe on the BBC soap since 2013, but is now poised to follow the likes of Rita Simons, Sam Womack and Danny Boy-Hatchard out of the door in 2017, amid fears from fellow cast members that they will soon be jettisoned from the show by new boss Sean O’Connor.
A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “The rumours on set are that despite so many cast members leaving, many more will be following them.
“And understandably that has created a lot of concern. Several of the actors are waiting with bated breath, convinced that Sean’s axe will start swinging again.”
A show insider has confirmed Annette’s exit, but also revealed that the character would remain “in the wings”.
The source shared: “Prior to living in The Vic, Aunt Babe was seen coming and going from The Square with her own life away from Walford.
“She will still very much be in the wings and could well continue to cause aggro for the Carter family.”
This comes shortly after Riley Carter Millington also quit ‘EastEnders’.
The actor – who was the first transgender male to play a transgender character in a UK soap – has only portrayed Kyle Slater for 12 months but is being driven out of the show by producers as they believes his alter ego has reached a “natural end”.
Riley recently said: “When I landed a six-month contract at ‘EastEnders’ it was a dream come true. For that to be extended to a year was something I never expected.”
Riley is also hoping the door will be left open for him to return.
He explained: “However, as the time comes for Kyle to depart Walford I am looking forward to taking on new roles and who knows, Kyle may find his way back to Walford one day.”

Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry offered huge money to stay with The Great British Bake Off

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Great British Bake Off’ judges Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry could reportedly be given a golden handshake of £1million each if they stay on the show.
Their futures have been thrown into doubt ever since it was announced that the popular baking show is to move from the BBC to Channel 4 – but Paul and Mary have both been offered eye-watering sums of money to remain loyal to the programme, while the BBC is prepared to make a similarly attractive counter-offer.
A source told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: “It’s turning into a bitter turf war between rival TV stations – but at this rate it’s the viewers who’ll miss out.
“Fans just want the series to stay the same as much as possible – that obviously means keeping Paul and Mary at the centre of it. It’s a shame some at the BBC seem to be looking for a way to sabotage that.
“Many of us feel it’s foul play and not the intended function of licence payers’ cash.”
Recently, it was reported that Paul remains undecided about his future, despite holding extensive talks with TV bosses at the BBC and Channel 4.
An insider previously said: “Paul’s definitely not made up his mind yet on what to do and is looking at what’s the best deal for him. Channel 4 are desperate to secure him and provide fans with some continuity from the original line-up.”
Meanwhile, Jay Hunt – who is Channel 4’s chief creative officer – claimed recently that the programme will be in safe hands when it shifts across in 2017.
She said: “‘Great British Bake Off’ will have a safe home. The show of soggy bottoms and good crumb will be made by exactly the same team who have always made it. We love it just as it is. And for an amateur baker like me, that’s a real cause for celebration.”

Bridget Jones's Baby bosses didn't print end of movie

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Bridget Jones’s Baby’ bosses never printed the ending of the movie in the scripts.
Filming on the highly-anticipated third movie in the franchise was kept shrouded in secrecy and the final scenes were deliberately ambiguous so people wouldn’t find out whether the eponymous heroine – who is played by Renee Zellweger – would end up with Mark Darcy (Colin Firth) or newcomer Jack Qwant (Patrick Dempsey).
Renee explained: “They filmed ambiguous endings. The script says, ‘X stands next to Bridget, Y stands next to Bridget.’ But no one ever knew who X and Y were. And the script continued that way. It was not printed. No ending was ever printed in the scripts.
“The guys just changed places so we got both things done. So whoever was there with the cellphone camera got both and that was that.”
The 47-year-old actress came out of a six-year hiatus to make the movie but was apprehensive about returning to the franchise as she didn’t want to taint the character.
She told Heat magazine: “I wanted it to matter and if you make a third film based on a character that is beloved to so many people, you want to be careful with it, and I felt a responsibility to (author) Helen Fielding.
“I wanted to know, in the process, that the story we told was based on something substantive.
“And that it was true to the tradition of this character and what she represents.”
Renee thinks Bridget has remained popular because she is “inspiring” and “authentic”.
Asked how she relates to her alter ego, she said: “Mostly her failures and that she gets back up. She is inspiring but no matter how much she tries to meet her own personal ideals or standards, she always comes full circle to be OK with what she is as an authentic person.”

Scott Eastwood fascinated by the internet's 'underbelly'

OHMYGOSSIP — Scott Eastwood is fascinated by the “underbelly” of the internet.
The 30-year-old actor stars alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt in the Oliver Stone-directed drama ‘Snowden’, which centres on the life of former National Security Agency employee Edward Snowden – who leaked classified documents to the public in 2013 – and Scott has admitted the movie has taught him a lot about cyber security and privacy.
He said: “I learned that there’s a lot that goes on in the internet that we don’t know about, a lot that goes on in the government that we don’t know about and we’re only just scratching the surface of it.
“The internet really is in its infancy stages, it’s very young, so to start to see the underbelly of it is very interesting.”
Meanwhile, Joseph said that the Snowden story is markedly more complex than most people realise.
The 35-year-old actor – who plays the exiled American in the new movie – told the Hollywood Reporter: “This is a really complicated story, which is funny because the first thing you find when you Google ‘Edward Snowden’ is there’s all kinds of opinions about him but they’re all kind of simple – everyone’s saying words like ‘hero’ or words like ‘traitor.’ They’re kind of all overly simplistic, and it’s not a simple story, it’s really complicated, and I really enjoyed getting to dive into that complexity.
“It’s not something we often do these days in our culture. I feel like we’re often looking at lots of little stories for brief amounts of time rather than diving into one story for a more in-depth period of time, so I found that really fulfilling.”

X Factor wannabe interrupts audition

OHMYGOSSIP — A desperate ‘X Factor’ contestant crashed another audition on Saturday’s (17.09.16) show.
Kirsty Murphy was so determined to get a chance to prove herself to judges Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, Nicole Scherzinger and Sharon Osbourne, that she barged in on girl group Remenissions’ audition.
Simon was impressed with her initiative and allowed her to perform Alicia Keys’ If I Ain’t Got You’ for the panel.
Louis, Simon and Nicole all agreed that she should go through, while Sharon said no due to “pitching issues”.
Sharon said: “When she first came in I was a bit frightened actually. She walked in and came right over to the desk and I was thinking, ‘Oh my god, alert, alert!’. But she was ballsy! It takes a lot to do that.”
Explaining her actions, Kirsty said: “I was with my mum and we saw a door labelled ‘Judges Room’ in front of us.
“I said to my mum ‘I’m just going to go in there’ and at first she was shocked and said ‘no you can’t!’ but then she switched and said, ‘Yes you can, get in!’ and she actually pushed me in.
“When mum opened the door, I couldn’t see the judges so thought I should just go for it, it was now or never. I could see they were on the other side of the room with Dermot who was speaking to contestants.
“Me and mum were like ninjas and I thought while the security were distracted, this was my chance. I ran round the back of the audition space, through the curtain to where the producers were sat. I could see the judges but I can’t remember properly what I said to them. I remember I just broke down crying and kept asking them, ‘please can I sing?’ ”

Ian Kelsey splits from his wife

OHMYGOSSIP — Ian Kelsey has reportedly split from his wife Mia Terry.
The ‘Coronation Street’ actor – who plays Vinny on the ITV soap – has broken up from his wife of 12 years, with whom he has two children, Layla-Beau, 10, and Ivy-Julianna, six.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Ian and Mia are living separately now, it is really sad but it hasn’t worked out.
“They wanted to make it work but now their main priority are their two children. They still care about each other deeply.”
Ian and the singer-songwriter tied the knot in 2004 and had their first child two years later.
The actor previously revealed how much he relished spending quality time with his wife, saying they love going on holiday together and recalled one particularly enjoyable trip.
He previously said: “Myself and Mia love to hire a car and just get lost. One trip, we stumbled upon the actual ‘field of dreams’.”
Meanwhile, Ian – who has previously starred on ‘Emmerdale’ and ‘Casualty’ – recently posted a cryptic tweet which suggested he was drinking as a means of forgetting his personal troubles.
He wrote: “I find Stella taken orally until you forget you have head problem does the trick.
“In morning, if same problem, repeat.”

The 50-year-old presenter has reportedly held talks with TV bosses at the BBC and Channel 4 about the future of the programme, but is still to decide whether he will continue in his current role.
