Margot Robbie praised by Neighbours co-star

OHMYGOSSIP — Margot Robbie’s ‘Neighbours’ co-stars always knew she was destined for stardom.
The ‘Suicide Squad’ actress found fame on the long-running Australian soap and Alan Fletcher – who plays Dr Karl Kennedy – says he could see her star potential from day one.
Speaking on the Absolute Radio Christian O’Connell Breakfast Show, he said: “Margot I would say is probably one of my favourite actors that’s ever been on the show. From the first moment she stepped onto the set at ‘Neighbours’ it was quite clear to Jackie Woodburn, who plays Susan, and myself that she was destined for stardom. I don’t know if there isn’t an acting brief that Margot can’t fill. It’s thrilling to see her career blossom the way it has.”
Margot played Donna Freedman in the soap for three years before moving to the US to star in the short-lived TV series ‘Pan-Am’.
This led to parts in movies ‘About Time’ and her breakout role in ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’, opposite Leonardo DiCaprio.
Meanwhile, Alan called into the Christian O’Connell Breakfast Show as part of the Who’s Calling Christian? segment, which gives celebrities a chance to win £20,000 for their chosen charity.
Last year’s competition was won by ‘Game of Thrones’ star Maisie Williams.

Miranda Hart's dog was her first best friend

OHMYGOSSIP — Miranda Hart had never had a best friend – until she got her dog.
The 43-year-old comedienne went through her entire time at school and university without ever forming a friendship that was special even though she had lots of pals.
After finishing her education, Miranda’s attention turned to her career and she stopped worrying about forming a unique bond with someone but when she made the decision to get a pet pooch she realised she had been lonely.
Miranda took home her Shih-Tzu Bichon Frise cross Peggy in 2007 after getting her as a puppy from the cleaning lady that worked on BBC sitcom ‘Not Going Out’ and found a true mate in her loving mutt.
Writing in The Daily Telegraph newspaper, the comic revealed: “I had just ended a relationship when Peggy came into my life and realising while I had lots of mates, but no one who knew me deeply; no friend I felt comfortable being truly post-break up vulnerable with (stained track suit bottoms and the worst kind of tears – snotty), Peggy filled the hole … She listened (and never interrupted). She needed me. She followed me everywhere. She was the most loyal creature that ever breathed. She loved me unconditionally. She never judged. Not even if I napped, farted or had more of an interest in food than she did. Surely that’s the definition of a perfect best friend?
“With hindsight I realise I was lonely. I had never really let anyone in. played the role of court jester to as wide a group of people as I could, had been the strong one, and fiercely independent. Peggy taught me the need for need.”
Miranda loves Peggy so much she lets the canine sleep on her bed, go wherever she wants in her house and she loves to get kisses from her.
However, the former ‘Call the Midwife’ star never lets Peggy lick her on the lips because her four-legged friend licks her own bottom.
Miranda – who has written a book called ‘Peggy & Me’ about her life with her pet – shared: “Every morning now you will find Peggy waiting patiently on her blanket at the end of my bed (don’t judge!) and when I wake up she runs excitedly in tiny tight circles full of joy that we have another day together. Whatever my mood, whatever I have to face, it can but bring me a smile. Peggy will bark at visitors to protect me as the door bell goes, but then brings them gifts when she realises they’re safe (these can include bones, asthma sprays from my hand bag and once a sanitary towel – mortifying). And when they go I tell her what we chatted about, and she gives me one lick on the nose (never the lips – a part of dog ownership I never understand, for they LICK THEIR OWN BOTTOMS) and settles down in a tight ball next to me on the sofa as we watch TV – no need to fight over the remote with a dog.
If you still don’t understand this friendship, I’ll say this – despite her being ‘just a dog’ the last nine years with Peggy have taught me that being in connection, having a dependent being you are responsible for, and sharing life with someone is key to all aspects of well-being. My little dog taught me that I did need a best friend or two. (sic)”

Lin Blakley's emotional EastEnders departure

OHMYGOSSIP — Lin Blakley has promised an “emotional” ‘EastEnders departure for Pam Coker.
The actress’ alter-ego and her husband Les are set to leave the square in the near future and Lin says fans will be happy with how their storyline has played out.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’, she said: “It will be and it was [emotional]. But I think every fan out there will like the way it’s been done. It’s lovely.”
Pam and Les are the latest in a long line of characters to be written out of the soap by new producer Sean O’Connor and she says she understands why he is getting rid of so many people.
She said: “I’m absolutely fine, honestly.
“It’s like any company when a boss comes in. They are going to want to put their own stamp on it and shivvy it around. I came in on a three-month contract and stayed two and a half years. So I was lucky.
“I left the business for a long time to bring up family. So to get something like this coming back in, I couldn’t believe it. Hopefully this will spring me on.”
Pam and Les split after she discovered he was a cross-dresser and had an alter-ego named Christine and although they have reconciled, it has been claimed that they will break up again before leaving the show.
Although Lin refused to confirm the report, she said: “Funny enough, when the audience first saw Christine, that was the first time I saw him. I thought the reaction would be more real.
“I was standing in the flat thinking, ‘that door is going to open and Les will be there as Christine’… I was shaking.”

Judge Rinder to dress as Fred Flintstone for Strictly

OHMYGOSSIP — Judge Rinder is to dress as Fred Flintstone for his next dance routine on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The TV legal eagle – full name Robert Rinder – is going to don the cartoon caveman’s famous orange animal skin loincloth and blue tie for this week’s Hollywood theme.
During an interview with Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on ‘This Morning’ he was asked what was next for him on the BBC ballroom show, and he revealed: “I’m going to be dressing as Fred Flintstone.”
Rinder also revealed his professional partner Oksana Platero – who only joined ‘Strictly’ this series – makes him stick to a “brutal” rehearsal schedule.
The qualified criminal law barrister – known for his acerbic tongue on his daytime ITV show – also joked that Oksana is the only person he knows who is stricter than himself.
He said: “Realistically I’m only going to have a day-and-a-half to rehearse and frankly I don’t want to get it wrong. I’m terribly nervous but more so, I’m nervous about upsetting my dance partner Oksana Platero.
“She’s the only person I’ve met who is more terrifying than me to be honest with you.”
Rinder has received some less than impressed comments from ‘Strictly’ judge Craig Revel Horwood about his dancing but he insists he isn’t going to let his critiques get to him because he just wants to have fun on the dancefloor.
He said: “When they provide really good constructive advice, like Darcey Bussell, that’s great. Poor Craig he doesn’t like people having fun. It must be hard for him.”

Don Quixote shoot delayed

OHMYGOSSIP — Shooting on ‘The Man Who Killed Don Quixote’ has been postponed due to financing issues.
Director Terry Gillam has revealed that his passion project – which he has been working on for almost two decades – has stalled but he insists it will still go ahead.
Speaking on BBC radio, he said: “I had this producer, a Portuguese chap, who claimed he’d get all the money together in time. And a few weeks ago, he proved that he didn’t have the money. I am still marching forward and the film isn’t dead.I will be dead before the film is.”
Earlier this year it was revealed that Adam Driver has joined the cast of the movie, based on the novel ‘Don Quixote’ by Miguel de Cervantes.
He is set to play Toby, an arrogant man who has long waved goodbye to his young, idealistic dream of making films.
He unexpectedly comes across a copy of his student film about Quixote and decides to visit the village where it was set.
What he finds there horrifies him, as his work has changed the village and he meets a man who now believes he is Don Quixote himself.
John Hurt previously dropped out of playing Quixote and was replaced by ‘Monty Python’ star Michael Palin in the much-maligned project.
The movie has been in the works since 1998, and Gilliam has tried several times to restart the production.

Emma Thompson to star in The Children Act

OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Thompson and Stanley Tucci will star in ‘The Children Act’.
The movie, based on Ian McEwan’s 2014 novel, will feature Emma as a High Court judge in London, whose marriage to Stanley’s character, a professor, is in crisis.
While dealing with her personal issues, she is called upon to rule in the case of a 17-year-old boy named Adam (‘Dunkirk’s Fionn Whitehouse), who is refusing a life-saving blood transfusion on religious grounds.
Richard Eyre will direct the movie while Duncan Kenworthy is producing.
Executive producers include Glen Basner and Ben Browning from FilmNation, Joe Oppenheimer and Beth Pattinson from BBC Films, and Charles Moore.
Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that Emma is set to star in a comedy about a talk show.
The story – written by Mindy Kaling – sees Emma play a veteran chat show host in danger of losing her long-running series. The disastrous news comes, coincidentally, at a time when the production company decide to hire the first female writer in the show’s history, played by Mindy.
Variety reports a source described the script as ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ meets ‘Broadcast News’.
Former ‘The Office’ star Mindy is also producing the project, with the help of Scott Rudin and Howard Klein.
There’s no studio attached the production as of yet, but sources report a bidding war for the package is to be expected, with several already in contention for bagging the project.
But Emma – who won an Oscar for her 1995 adaptation of ‘Sense and Sensibility’ – won’t be looking for any award nominations from this project, as earlier this year she said she thinks shows like the Oscars “drive everybody insane” and should be scrapped.
She said previously: “What we need is to change awards season, which goes on for four-and-a-half months – or longer – and drives everybody insane. We really do need to do something about that. There are too many awards ceremonies; all sort of tied up with too much money. They’re using actors in ways that I think are not healthy at all. A lot of us feel the same way… there’s no joy or sense of celebration any more.”

James and Ola Jordan slam Strictly result

OHMYGOSSIP — Former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professionals James and Ola Jordan have slammed Melvin Odoom’s departure from the competition.
The former ‘Xtra Factor’ presenter and his professional partner Janette Manrara became the first couple to leave the competition last night (02.10.16) despite the fact that, for the first time ever, there was no dance-off because Anastacia – who is partnered with Brendan Cole – had torn her mastectomy scar and was unable to take to the floor again.
But the outspoken couple have hit out at the decision to base the elimination on the public vote, insisting the ‘I’m Outta Love’ hitmaker – who has battled breast cancer twice in the past – should have been the first celebrity to go home because of the circumstance.
Ola wrote on Twitter: “B******s! If you can’t dance, you should be eliminated!”
And her husband insisted the decision could lead to other contestants exploiting the possibility of missing the dance off and leaving the public vote to decide.
He tweeted: “WHAT!!!! Totally disgusting If you can’t dance in the dance off you should be the ones that leave WHAT A JOKE!!!
“SO!!! Whoever ends up in the dance off COULD fake an injury and go through to the next week on public vote without dancing BULLS**T!!!(sic)”
Anastacia insisted she was “devastated” at being unable to dance.
She said: “I danced on Saturday even though the doctor had advised me to rest after I ripped the scar tissue around where I had my double mastectomy. After that I was unable to dance again and I was devastated that I couldn’t take part in the Dance Off. I am so very sad to see Melvin and Janette go, they are the most the most wonderful pair and I will miss Melvin’s unique spirit and beautiful smile.”
And Brendan was also upset to see the couple depart.
He tweeted: “Sorry to see @Melvinodoom & @JManrara leave, especially under such circumstances. Wishing my partner @AnastaciaMusic a speedy recovery (sic)”

Third Gogglebox celebrity special to air this month

OHMYGOSSIP — A third ‘Gogglebox’ celebrity special will air this month.
The programme, which sees families and groups of friends from around England and Wales reacting to television shows from their own homes, will feature a number of stars for a Stand Up To Cancer special on October 21, the Daily Mirror reports.
A previous celebrity special memorably featured Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Noel Gallagher.
And last year, ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ hunk Jamie Dornan appeared on the show, alongside ‘Hot Fuzz’ actor Nick Frost as they gave viewers an insight into what it’s like to watch Britain’s most popular TV shows with a celebrity.
Former Spice Girls star Geri Horner, ex-‘The Voice’ judge Boy George and 80s popstar Marilyn have also sat down for a night of TV to raise money for charity.
Names for this year are still being finalised but Louis Walsh recently revealed he would jump at the chance to take part in the Channel 4 show with Sharon Osbourne.
He said: “I’d go on ‘Gogglebox’, I’d be good on ‘Gogglebox’. Can you imagine me with Sharon? We’d be great fun, cursing and shouting, watching [The ‘X Factor’s rival] ‘Strictly’ [Come Dancing].”
Meanwhile. this year’s Stand Up To Cancer line-up will also feature Michelle Keegan and Rio Ferdinand in a special episode of ‘The Crystal Maze’.
It has been 21 years since the show last aired on TV screens and Radio DJ Sara Cox, Paralympics champion Jonnie Peacock and comedian Josh Widdicombe will all take part in the special episode, which will be hosted by Stephen Merchant.
The original ‘Crystal Maze’ series was presented first by Richard O’Brien and then Ed Tudor-Pole and aired for six seasons between 1990 and 1995.

Hairy Bikers slam Bake Off

OHMYGOSSIP — The Hairy Bikers have slammed the ‘Great British Bake Off’.
The pair took a pop at rival shows ‘GBBO’ and ‘Masterchef’, insisting they don’t approve of competitive cooking shows.
Si King told the Daily Star: “I’m not really into that kind of competitive food thing. I do watch it because the skill is fantastic. But from our point of view we wouldn’t cook anything on the telly that people can’t cook at home. We don’t really see the point.”
And Dave Myers insists their show is nothing like ‘GBBO’.
He said: “We do our thing and they do their thing. I don’t think the two types of shows have got anything to do with each other.”
The pair also insisted they will never take part in celebrity versions of either show.
Si said: “The bottom line is that we’re cooks, not chefs. They’re very different disciplines.”
While Dave added: “It’s not something we’d do. I’m not going to be a punter. It’s what I do for a living.”
While the Hairy Bikers are not fans of ‘Bake Off’, superstar singer Britney Spears is, and she recently revealed she is interested in a role on the show.
The ‘Toxic’ hitmaker thinks the popular cooking show is “beautiful” and would love to land a job on the programme when it moves across to Channel 4 next year because she loves whipping up calorific treats.
When asked whether she would like to have a role on the show: “That’s [the idea of the programme is] beautiful. That’s awesome. I love cooking.”
And the 34-year-old may just be in luck as bosses are currently on the hunt for a new judge after Mary Berry quit following its recent change.
They’re also hoping to bag a presenter that will give Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc a run for their money after they turned their backs on the show just minutes after Channel 4 was announced as the new broadcaster.
Despite the huge shake up, Paul Hollywood – who has been a judge on the programme since it first started in 2010 – has agreed to move across when the show makes its shift after he was offered a mega-money deal.
Channel 4 bought the rights to the show for an estimated £75 million after they found out negotiations between the BBC and Love Productions – the makers of the programme – had broken down.

Big Brother's Pete Bennett working as a cleaner

OHMYGOSSIP — Pete Bennett is working as a cleaner.
The 34-year-old reality TV star – who won £100,000 on ‘Big Brother’ in 2006 – has set up a business as a “celebrity cleaner” where he will perform a number of household chores for £100 an hour.
He told the Daily Star: “I don’t mind getting my hands dirty and I’ll do any sort of cleaning job.”
Last year Pete – who suffers from Tourette’s syndrome – confessed he’d been left homeless after spending all the money he won on the show.
He said at the time: “The work dried up pretty fast, no-one would touch me with a barge pole because I was to do with ‘Big Brother’. I lost it all.
“It all kind of went wrong, it didn’t go to plan. I had all that money and I didn’t know what to do with it.
“I put it on the wrong things. I was homeless after having so much money. It’s easy come, easy go. The fame pushed me in a way I didn’t want to go, I didn’t like it.”
And he also revealed that he struggled with drug addiction, getting hooked on ketamine.
He said: “I got into drugs 15 years ago, I’ve always been a party animal, I was addicted to ketamine. I went to get proper help for my addiction.
“He [the therapist] asked me about loss and I told him about all my friends that had died. I obviously hadn’t been dealing with it, I’d been taking K and being disassociated with it.
“I’m in a better place than I am, it would be nice to have my mates here and all that, I’ve been through a lot of loss. I’ve got into acting and I’ve got into films, my Tourette’s has calmed down … Hollywood is next.”

Pirates of the Caribbean 5 trailer released

OHMYGOSSIP — The first teaser trailer for ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales’ has been released.
The trailer aired on TV during Sunday’s (02.10.16) episode of ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ and revealed Javier Bardem’s villain, Captain Salazar, hunting for Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp).
He can be heard saying, “Death will come straight for him.”
However, there was no sign of Johnny’s Captain Jack, except for a brief glimpse of him on a wanted poster.
The official Disney synopsis of the movie reads: “Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Captain Jack Sparrow finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar, escape from the Devil’s Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea… including him.
“Captain Jack’s only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artefact that bestows upon its possessor total control over the seas.”
The fifth movie in the long-running franchise also stars Orlando Bloom, Geoffrey Rush, Kaya Scodelario and Brenton Thwaites.
Orlando is reprising his role as Will Turner in the movie, having bowed out of the series for 2011’s ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’.
However, his love interest Elizabeth Swann, played by Keira Knightley, will not return.
Asked about coming back to the franchise, Keira previously said: “No, I don’t think so.
“It was an amazing point in my life, but it was a good five-year chunk. It was incredible, but I can’t really imagine going back to it.”
The film is co-directed by Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg.
‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales’ will be released on May 26, 2017.

Michelle Rodriguez drew on bullying experience for new movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Michelle Rodriguez drew on her own childhood experience for her new movie about bullying.
The actress plays the teacher of a bullied young boy in ‘Milton’s Secret’ and admitted she could relate to the victim as she was also bullied when she was a child.
She told The Hollywood Reporter: “I was bullied as a kid, but I dealt with it a lot differently because I was at a different level growing up in Jersey City. If you didn’t adapt, you die, or parts of your soul would be crushed. People were just really mean in Jersey City. I had to learn to fight really early.”
Michelle previously revealed she felt it was an important tale to tell as she herself has learned how hurtful words can be as she’s gotten older.
She said: “I’m more sensitive now because I’ve always been a very tomboyish… I just never gave a f**k about words.
“Now I understand that I have to respect words and words are powerful and they are dangerous and they hurt people.”
The movie is based on the book by Eckhart Tolle and Robert S. Friedman and also stars David Sutcliffe, Mia Kirshner and Hays Wellford.
It was directed by Barnet Bain.
Meanwhile, Michelle recently revealed she will quit the ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise if more female cast members aren’t brought in.
The 38-year-old actress has played Letty since the saga’s inception but having Charlize Theron and Dame Helen Mirren on set for latest outing ‘Fast 8’ only confirmed her belief that the movies – which also star the likes of Vin Diesel, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Jason Statham, Scott Eastwood and Tyrese Gibson – need more “feminine energy”.
She said: “In order for me to be a part of the franchise in the future, they need to up the ante on the females.
“I mean, it’s like a sausage factory in this thing.
“I just need some more feminine energy. We need some more women on the good side.”

Holly Hagan: X Factor is an absolute joke

OHMYGOSSIP — Holly Hagan has branded ‘X Factor’ as “an absolute joke” after Honey G made it through to the live shows.
The 24-year-old television personality took to Twitter to express her anger on Sunday (02.10.16) after it was revealed that judge Sharon Osbourne had opted to make the rap artist one of the final 12 acts.
She wrote: “X factor what an absolute JOKE!! The talent Sharon has let go home in f**king absolutely ridiculous (sic)”
And the former ‘Geordie Shore’ star wasn’t the only one to vent their frustration via the social media website, as TV talent such as Kerry Katona and Jodie Marsh also shared their feelings.
Kerry wrote: “@TheXFactor omg.:: in shock!!!!!! What the hell!!really was rutting for Sam…. but we’ve got bloody honey G!! Is this a joke???? Seriously? (sic)”
While Jodie shared her thoughts alongside a picture of Simon Cowell with his head in his hands, simply writing: “Are you serious Mrs O??!!!! Honey G ???!!!!!!”
Even Lord Alan Sugar – who hosts his own talent competition in the form of ‘The Apprentice’ – didn’t agree with Sharon’s decision.
He tweeted: “Honey G going through on @TheXFactor are they taking the P out if the public… (sic)”
However, not every star was appalled by the news, as fellow ‘X Factor’ alumni Jake Quickenden gave his support for the rapper.
He wrote: “Haha she got lives… WHAT!! I say Honey you say #xfactor (sic)”
The buzz from the celebrity world comes after Sharon chose Honey G as her third act for the live finals alongside Relley C and Saara Alto.
The judge sent Samantha Atkinson, James Wilson, Christopher Peyton, and Janet Grogan home.

Benedict Cumberbatch hints at the end of Sherlock

OHMYGOSSIP — Benedict Cumberbatch has hinted that the next series of ‘Sherlock’ could be the last.
The fourth instalment of the BBC drama will hit TV screens early next year and Benedict – who plays the titular detective – says filming it felt like the “end of an era”.
He added to GQ magazine: I’d love to revisit it, I’d love to keep revisiting it, I stand by that, but in the immediate future we all have things that we want to crack on with and we’ve made something very complete as it is, so I think we’ll just wait and see.
“The idea of never playing him again is really galling.”
The news comes after Steven Moffatt, the executive producer of the BBC One show, said he doesn’t think it’ll be long before the crime drama will wrap up for good as he believes it’ll be harder to secure lead stars Benedict and Martin Freeman, who plays his sidekick Doctor Watson, because they’re so in-demand nowadays.
He said: “I don’t know how long we can keep it going.
“I’m personally willing but I’m hardly the main draw. I would be moderately surprised if this was the last time we ever made this show. But it absolutely could be …
“We do have two film stars in the programme. They haven’t needed to do these jobs for a very long time. They’re coming back because they want to.”

Angelina Jolie in talks to star in Shoot Like a Girl

OHMYGOSSIP — Angelina Jolie is in talks to star in ‘Shoot Like a Girl’.
The 41-year-old actress reportedly has her eye on the starring role in the Afghanistan war drama, which is based on the upcoming memoir ‘Shoot Like a Girl: One Woman’s Dramatic Fight in Afghanistan and on the Home Front’.
The book tells the true story of Major Mary Jennings Hegar, who served multiple tours in Afghanistan as a helicopter pilot. She served as part of the Combat Search and Rescue team as well as Medevac in Afghanistan, and saved hundreds of lives. She also worked on Civil Search and Rescue missions on home soil in California.
In 2009, her helicopter was shot down during a Medevac mission, though her actions saved the lives of her crew and patients, earning her the Purple Heart – an award given to those wounded or killed whilst serving US military.
Mary then filed a lawsuit against the Secretary of Defence in 2012, in protest of the Combat Exclusion Policy which kept female officers from serving in combat roles. The policy was successfully repealed in 2013 after it was deemed unconstitutional.
The release date for the book in marked for May 2017, and a movie adaptation is already in the works with Sony on board to develop the project alongside The Gotham Group. Frank Baldwin is set to pen the script. No director has yet been confirmed for the movie, but sources suggest they will lock in a director as soon as their main cast is confirmed.
For Angelina, the role comes after she recently dropped out of starring alongside Kenneth Branagh in ‘Murder on the Orient’.
The ‘Maleficent’ star also pulled the plug on her directing role in Brad Pitt movie ‘Africa’ after she filed for divorce from the 52-year-old star.
A source said at the time: “[‘Africa’] has been a nightmare to get off the ground from the beginning. Until the last few weeks Angelina was resolute in her intent to get it made but now she doesn’t want to direct it at all.”

Dakota Fanning was rejected for jobs

OHMYGOSSIP — Dakota Fanning used to get turned down for jobs because she was “different looking”.
Despite starring in some of the world’s biggest films since she was six, the 22-year-old actress admits she had to deal with a lot of rejections when it came to commercials.
She said: “I was always able to decipher what mattered from what didn’t. I would go on so many commercial auditions and I would hardly ever get them, because they would always pick the girl with the really long hair. I had short hair and was different looking. And I would say, ‘You know, they probably just really wanted someone with brown hair, or longer hair.’ And my mum would say, ‘You’re probably right.'”
Unlike a lot of former child stars, Dakota has managed to maintain a stable personal life and credits her grounded upbringing for that.
The ‘American Pastoral’ star told the Guardian newspaper: “My parents, even before I started doing this, were the kind of parents who expected a certain behaviour and focus in life. Manners were important and so was respect for adults: that was taught to me from birth. And that became a sense of professionalism, as I started to understand the decorum of movie sets: have respect for the people who are trying to help you. When you’re a kid, you are so impressionable. And you’re soaking up the focus of the set.”
She also revealed that she’s been working on movie sets for so long that the technical requirements have become second nature to her.
She said: “I know how to hit a mark without looking. I instinctively know where my eye line should be. That’s all 100 per cent. But your character and the story are always different, so the emotional part is not muscle memory. You’re still surprised by stuff and get the adrenaline.”
