Kit Harington in talks for BBC's Guy Fawkes drama

OHMYGOSSIP — Kit Harington is in talks to star in a BBC drama based on the gunpowder plot.
The 29-year-old actor is planning on both starring in and producing the drama – under the working title ‘Gunpowder’ – that will be inspired by Guy Fawkes’ infamous plan.
In 1605, Fawkes attempted to assassinate the British Monarch King James I by blowing up the Houses of Parliament, and Harrington has spoken previously about how one of his relatives – a man named Robert Catesby – was involved in the attempted act of treason.
BBC sources have now confirmed the ‘Game of Thrones’ star is in “advanced talks” to head the three hour-long episodes that will make up the project.
As of yet, it is unconfirmed which character he will be playing, and no other casting announcements have been made.
The news of Kit’s move to producing comes after he recently revealed he was interested in taking up a role behind the camera once he finishes his role on ‘Game of Thrones’, and the decision to stay on TV rather than move to film comes after he said television was more “exciting”.
He said: “I’d love to go back into a top-quality TV show, because that is where storytelling is at its most exciting and dangerous at the moment.”
A source confirmed to Business Insider that the show was close to being commissioned by the BBC, though the publication stated a BBC Spokesperson had declined to comment.
The project will be produced by Kit’s company Thriker Films alongside Kudos, who produced ‘Spooks: The Greater Good’, which starred Kit.

Sam Faiers hasn't enjoyed a 'night off' from motherhood for nine months

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Faiers hasn’t enjoyed a “night off” from motherhood for nine months.
The 25-year-old television personality, who gave birth to her nine-month old son Paul Tony in December last year, has admitted she hasn’t left her little tot’s side since he was born and hasn’t had a “date night” with her partner Paul Knightley for almost a year.
Speaking to The Mail Online about how her lifestyle has changed since being a parent, she said: “I’ve not had a night off since I had the baby. Not had date night or anything.”
However the former ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star – who quit the popular ITVBe show in 2014 after 11 series – has admitted she has chosen to stop her previous partying ways to spend time with her child because she doesn’t want to miss out on any of the “precious” moments with her son.
She explained: “Paul is so supportive and since meeting him I’ve taken a step back from the usual. I don’t do the party scene anymore and I just do what’s nice.
“That’s my own choice. I’ve enjoyed every second of being a mum because I think this time is so precious. People comment and say you need a night out and I say I’m not ready. It will happen but it’s one of those things, isn’t it?
“All mums are different and everyone has different ways of parenting. I had a dinner with the girls but I was home by 11. I haven’t had a night or a proper night out. I’ve had a few glasses of Prosecco or wine with dinner but the baby’s with me all the time so I can’t have more than two.”
And the mother of one – who is set to release the new ITVBe documentary ‘The Mummy Diaries’, which is a follow-up to ‘The Baby Diaries’ that saw her prepare for the birth – is looking forward to the time her and her beau can have a romantic night out.
She said: “I’ve not missed it. I do look forward to a date night with Paul now that the baby’s eating and having snacks. He doesn’t rely on me so much for the milk, so me and Paul can start thinking about date night as well.”

Alan Carr: I won't present GBBO

OHMYGOSSIP — Alan Carr has ruled himself out of presenting ‘The Great British Bake Off’.
The ‘Chatty Man’ host believes he would get too fat if he presented the baking show, which is to air on Channel 4 from next year after they outbid the BBC for the rights, and doesn’t want to revert back to being a 36-inch waist.
He said: “Listen, do you know, I went to Melbourne on my stand-up tour, and I got so fat … a 36-inch waist jeans, yeah.
“I went on a treadmill, this is no word of a lie, I’m running on a treadmill, you know this bit here, the bottom bit of your gut, slid over the top and pressed the emergency stop button on the treadmill. My own body was telling me no.
“That’s bad when your own fat turns the machine off, so I can’t do it.”
The 40-year-old TV presenter insists he hasn’t been approached to front the show and while he does love the programme, he just wouldn’t be able to say yes even if he was asked.
Speaking on The Radio 1 Breakfast Show with Nick Grimshaw, he added: “I mean, it’s nice and I love Channel 4 but no one’s approached me. But I don’t think I could do it, no I think it’s too loved. I’m like Marmite.”
‘Bake Off’ bosses are on the lookout for a new host or co-hosts after Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins quit following the news Channel 4 had acquired the rights in a £75 million, three-year deal.
Following their decision to leave the show, co-judge Mary Berry also announced she was departing out of “loyalty” to the BBC, but fellow judge Paul Hollywood signed a three-year deal with the channel.
Channel 4 secured the rights from Love Productions, which makes the show, but didn’t have the co-hosts or judges tied down to a deal.

OHMYGOSSIP — Meg LeFauve is set to direct Disney’s ‘Gigantic’.
The writer of Disney’s emotion filled hit ‘Inside Out’ will make her directorial debut when she takes control of the animated adaptation of classic fairy tale ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’.
She will join the previously announced Nathan Greno as co-director.
‘Gigantic’ was first announced in August 2015 when Disney’s chief creative officer John Lasseter announced the project at the studio’s D23 Expo. Now, with a full directing team on board, the production will no doubt be in full swing very soon.
At the presentation last year, Nathan said: “We hope this will be the definitive version of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ … with comedy and deep emotion.”
Meg had already been working on the screenplay for the movie when she was promoted to co-director, and it is unknown who will take over screenplay duties in the wake of the decision.
The movie is being produced by Dorothy McKim, and the score for the project will be penned by the masterminds behind the ‘Frozen’ soundtrack, Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez.
The story is set in Spain during the Age of Exploration, and follows Jack (as yet uncast) as he discovers the world of giants hidden in the clouds. Jack then befriends Inma (also uncast), an 11-year-old female giant.
For Meg, the role comes after she has worked on the screenplays for a number of Disney movies including ‘The Good Dinosaur’, and has also been working on the team for the upcoming ‘Captain Marvel’ movie.
‘Gigantic’ is set for release on November 21 2018.

Ben Affleck: Batman movie may get name change

OHMYGOSSIP — Ben Affleck “might change” the title of his new ‘Batman’ movie.
The 44-year-old actor is in the process of creating a new standalone movie focused on the famous DC Comics character which he is writing, directing and starring in.
Affleck has the working title ‘The Batman’ – which will see Joe Manganiello play supervillain Deathstroke – in place for his film but he thinks he might change it.
He said: “The movie I think is going to be called ‘The Batman’. At least that’s what we’re going with now. I might change it.
“We’re working on the script. The script is going well. I’m really excited about it.”
Affleck first portrayed Bruce Wayne and his superhero alter ego in ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ and although the blockbuster received many negative review it proved to be a huge financial hit banking $873.3 million worldwide.
The Oscar winner is incredibly be proud of the film – directed by Zack Snyder and inspired by Frank Miller’s dark graphic novel ‘The Dark Knight Returns’ – because it is the biggest hit of his stellar career so far.
In an interview with Fox 5 DC, he said: “It was a huge hit movie – more people went to see that than any movie I’ve ever made in my career. You know, it’s the biggest hit of my career. And then it had a lot of editorial negativity. The fans went, and it got a lot of positive response. It was interesting, that movie, because it was judged not necessarily on execution so much as [on] its tone. People seemed to want to have a lighter tone to the movie … Tone isn’t a qualitative thing – it’s subjective, right? Some tones resonate with me that might not with you … I loved it.”
Affleck will next be seen in Batman’s cape and cowl in superhero ensemble movie ‘Justice League’, with filming wrapping on the project in London at the weekend.

The 29-year-old actor will voice the titular aardvark character in the upcoming animated feature which re-imagines the Old Testament story of Noah’s Ark.
The plot will re-tell the biblical tale in which Noah is told by God to build a huge boat so he can take two of every animal on board so they can survive a catastrophic flood but this time through the eyes of the animals and those creatures who don’t get picked to be saved.

Whilst no other cast members have yet been announced, the crew seem confident that Miles will be able to bring this project to life, and dubbed the star as “exceptionally talented”.

Rachel McAdams joins Disobedience

OHMYGOSSIP — Rachel McAdams has joined the cast of ‘Disobedience’.
The 37-year-old actress will star alongside the previously confirmed Rachel Weisz in the drama movie adaptation of Naomi Alderman’s novel of the same name.
The story follows the estranged daughter of a rabbi who – in the wake of her father’s death – heads home to the Orthodox Jewish neighbourhood in which she grew up. The arrival of the young woman – named Ronit – causes a rift in the tight-knit community, not least when she revisits an old romance with her best friend, who just so happens to be married to her cousin.
It has not yet been confirmed which role either of the two confirmed actresses will play, and no other cast members have been announced.
Chilean director Sebastián Lelio is taking the wheel for the project in his first ever English-language feature, and is set to have cameras rolling around the London area by this winter.
The script was adapted by Sebastián himself, with help from ‘Ida’ co-writer Rebecca Lenkiewicz. Financial backing for the project comes from Film4.
When 46-year-old Weisz was confirmed as having a starring role in the feature last week, it was also revealed that she would be picking up her third producing credit on the project. She previously produced 2014’s ‘Radiator’, and ‘The Shape of Things’ in 2003.
Ed Guiney of Element Pictures and Braven Films’ Frida Torresblanco are also on board as producers.
Other details are being kept under wraps at least for now, with Weisz previously stating that she believes mystery is “good for acting”, and would rather not share everything with her audience.
She said: “Mystery is good for acting. I don’t love going to the cinema and knowing tons about someone’s real life.”

Tameka Empson: Strictly decision was shocking

OHMYGOSSIP — Tameka Empson admits the decision to send Melvin Odoom home from ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ was “shocking”.
The former ‘Xtra Factor’ presenter controversially lost his place in the competition at the weekend after receiving the lowest public vote as rival Anastacia had torn her mastectomy scar, meaning she couldn’t take part in a dance off to decide who would leave.
While the show has faced a backlash from fans who felt the singer should have gone if she was unable to dance, fellow ‘Strictly’ competitor Tameka has taken a diplomatic approach and insisted it would have been tough no matter whether it was Melvin or Anastacia who departed the competition.
Speaking at the Inside Soap Awards in London on Monday (03.10.16) evening, she said: “I think it’s going to get the point where one of us is going to leave and it’s always going to be emotional. It’s not nice.
“Whether it was Anastacia or Melvin it was always going to be sad. Knowing that, it’s the first time it’s ever happened to the show. They had to do their discussions and that seemed to be the fairest thing to do.
“It is very shocking but ultimately we’re still in the game to do the show.”
Tameka is partnered with Gorka Marquez on the show and she is pleased to have a “good and firm” teacher – even if things don’t always go to plan.
She said: “Gorka is very good he’s a firm teacher. A firm hand which tends to slip and let me drop on the floor sometimes.”
Tameka was thrilled to pick up the Inside Soap Funniest Female award for her portrayal of Kim Fox-Hubbard in ‘EastEnders’.
She said: “It means a lot, I’m making the nation laugh.”
However, her alter ego is set to show a more serious side as she supports her screen sister Denise (Diane Parish), who is expecting Phil Mitchell’s (Steve McFadden) baby.
She told OK! Online: “I think you’ll see a more serious side to Kim. The laughter will never go but as life goes on and we’re hit by life.
“You’ll see she’s not just a silly character. She’s got balls and deep down strength. She’s going to be supporting Denise.”

Matt Smith was unsure about another TV role

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Smith almost turned down his role in ‘The Crown’ because of his experiences on ‘Doctor Who’.
The 33-year-old actor became a household name when he played the Time Lord in the BBC show or four years, and he was wary of taking on another potentially-time consuming TV show such as the Netflix period miniseries.
‘The Crown’ producer Andrew Eaton said: “He was umm-ing and aah-ing, because he’d done ‘Doctor Who’ for so long.
“I think he was wary about getting into a show that would take up a lot of his time and keep him from doing other things.”
But producers were thrilled to finally persuade Matt to sign up to play a young Prince Philip opposite Claire Foy as Queen Elizabeth as they were convinced no one else could do the part justice.
Andrew told reporters: “We saw quite a few actors to play Philip, but it was clear from the auditions that we all became a bit fixated that he was the only person who could do it.
“He and Claire work in completely different ways. And they’re quite different people, but they just gelled from the get-go.”
And Andrew believes the role will show a whole new side to the actor and make other producers look at him differently.
He said: “I think he’s got a fantastic quality to him. ‘Doctor Who’ put it all in the one direction, and you realise he’s got so much more to give.
“He’s obviously well known to a certain area, he was having to nip off during the shoot to do various Comic Con things and stuff, so he’s obviously known in that world.
“But I think outside that he’s not really known as a film actor particularly yet, so I’m sure for Hollywood and other places it’ll probably change his profile.
“Obviously when you were filming you’d get a lot of kids of a certain age who’d flock to him in complete awe, and he’s brilliant at that. He has a real sweetness about him which I think comes out in his acting.”
‘The Crown’ streams on Netflix from November 4.

Christine Lampard to front spooky celebrity show

OHMYGOSSIP — Christine Lampard is to front a spooky new live show.
The 37-year-old presenter is teaming up with former ‘Xtra Factor’ host Matt Richardson for ‘Celebrity Haunted Hotel Live’, which will feature different celebrities checking into the mystery location every night for five nights.
Viewers will be able to vote for the star guests to take on a number of tasks in their spooky surroundings.
Christine said of the show: “Five nights in the UK’s spookiest hotel with some great celebrity guests over Halloween – what could possibly go wrong?!”
The series will air on W from Thursday 27 October at 9pm and run on consecutive nights, with the final broadcast on Halloween (31.10.16).
And UKTV bosses have promised the show will be “gripping” viewing.
UKTV executive producer, Helen Nightingale, said: “This is a spooky addition to W’s growing slate of original content – an entertainment event set in the darkest of places, perfect for Halloween. With a whole host of celebrities to frighten, W viewers will be gripped by the unfolding nightly action.”
In addition to the main show, Matt will also front ‘Celebrity Haunted Hotel Live: Do Not Disturb’ nightly at 6pm from 28 October, while presenter Jamie East will also be on hand to update viewers live from an interactive hub.
The celebrity guests haven’t yet been revealed.
‘Celebrity Haunted Hotel Live’ is the second announcement about Christine’s work in less than a month, as it was recently revealed she is reteaming with her ‘The One Show’ co-host Adrian Chiles for a new show.
The pair will revisit their former on-screen partnership when they team up for a new three-part series about “the nature of friendship”.
A BBC spokesperson said: “We’re pleased to confirm that Adrian and Christine have agreed to join forces again for a new BBC Northern Ireland production.
“While we can’t say much about this project at the moment, we’re obviously excited to have both on board.”
Adrian and Christine worked on ‘The One Show’ together from 2006 to 2010 but they quit the BBC after being offered a lucrative deal to present ‘Daybreak’ on rival channel ITV.
However, the show was axed within months due to poor ratings and replaced by ‘Good Morning Britain’.

Mikey North to have a son

OHMYGOSSIP — Mikey North and his wife are expecting a baby boy.
The ‘Coronation Street’ actor – who plays Gary Windass in the soap – was “too impatient” to wait for his spouse Rachael to give birth in November, so the couple found out the sex of their child during a hospital visit.
Mikey said: “I’m too impatient! We found out the baby was a boy.”
The happy couple only got married in January, and the 30-year-old actor is convinced they conceived on their wedding night.
He told the new issue of OK! magazine: “Judging by the date that the baby’s due, we think we conceived on our wedding night! Which I do remember – just about!
“We are really fortunate. We weren’t expecting it to happen as soon as it did.”
And Mikey’s experiences of being a first-time father-to-be has helped him connect with his ‘Corrie’ alter ego a bit more.
He said: “In a storyline with my kid Jake on ‘Corrie’, I went to the scan. It was all about how amazing the experience was. I wasn’t sure, but when you do it with your own child it’s amazing. To see this little person growing is incredible.”
One thing the couple are hoping their son doesn’t inherit from his dad is the actor’s sleepwalking habit.
Mikey said: “The other night I went to sleep in the spare room, so as to not to disturb Rach, and I woke up in the street wrapped up in a duvet.
“I’d managed to turn off the burglar alarm before I got out of the house, too.”
Rachael added: “Let’s hope this one doesn’t take after his dad!”
The couple are now making plans for the baby’s birth, but it seems Mikey doesn’t quite know what to expect.
Rachael said: “I’d like to have a water birth. Quite a lot of my friends have done that and it sounds relaxing. Although I’m sure it’s probably not!”
Mikey added: “I’ve asked if I should take my trunks with me!”

Georgia May Foote uses job as distraction from Giovanni Pernice

OHMYGOSSIP — Georgia May Foote has thrown herself into work since she split from Giovanni Pernice.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ actress split from the 26-year-old Italian dancer in August after getting together on BBC’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ and has said she doesn’t pay attention to any speculation about their relationship because she is so “busy” with work.
Georgia, 25, told Belfast Live: “I’m quite a private person so I just get on with life, I’ve always said that my job is the most important thing in my life and my family. My family are happy and healthy and I’m working on a great show.
“I’ve literally thrown myself into it completely. It’s been such a great experience and I’m lucky that I’ve got it right now, I think, to do – to keep me busy. I just kind of get on with life, I don’t really listen [to what’s being said].”
Georgia’s comments come days after it was reported that she has fallen out with Giovanni’s new celebrity dance partner, Laura Whitmore.
The brunette beauty is said to be unhappy about his blossoming friendship with her pal Laura, 31.
According to The Sun, Georgia contacted Laura to discuss her concerns but it didn’t end well.
At the time, a source said: “Georgia confronted Laura over the pictures of her and Giovanni. She knew they would get close because of the hours they’re putting in during training but Georgia just wanted Laura to stop plastering it across social media because she’s still upset about the split.
“Laura was furious and didn’t hold back, telling her: ‘You’re ruining my ‘Strictly’ experience.
“Georgia thinks Laura’s being a real diva and is throwing their friendship away. All Georgia wanted was for her to be a bit more low-key but Laura’s having none of it.”
And Georgia must’ve been even more upset when former ‘Strictly’ dancer Gleb Savchenco said Giovanni and Laura are bound to get together.
He said: “I bet you £100 Giovanni will get with Laura this year.”
However, Laura has always insisted there is nothing romantic going on between her and Giovanni and there never will be.

Tom Holland finishes filming Spider-Man: Homecoming

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Holland has confirmed the filming for ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ is complete.
The 20-year-old actor – who will reprise his role as the Marvel superhero in the eagerly-anticipated movie – shared a picture of the crew heading home on Monday (02.09.16) by a private jet, and insisted they were happy with the work they’ve done, despite feeling tired.
Alongside the photo posted on Instagram, he wrote: “Our last day on @sidermanhomecoming and this how we are feeling we got this! hahah (sic)”
The forthcoming movie features Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man, Zendaya Coleman as Peter Parker’s [Holland] love interest, Mary-Jane Watson and Jon Favreau is to reprise his ‘Iron Man’ character.
The 49-year-old actor played Happy Hogan – Iron Man’s personal driver – in the first three films in the franchise, and he will resurrect his alter ego for the webslinger’s first full feature film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Downey Jr. played Tony Stark and Iron Man in ‘Captain America: Civil War’ which marked Tom Holland’s debut as Spider-Man, but Favreau’s character was absent from that film.
The revelation comes after several other actors have been confirmed for the movie, including Michael Keaton as villain Vulture, Logan Marshall-Green as another baddie, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May once again.
Meanwhile, Zendaya’s casting as Mary-Jane has caused outrage among many comic book fans unhappy that an actress with African/American heritage will be portraying a character traditionally depicted as white and red-headed.
‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ was being filmed in Atlanta and is pencilled in for a 7 July 2017 release date.

Chloe Grace Moretz joins Suspiria

OHMYGOSSIP — Chloe Grace Moretz will star alongside Tilda Swinton and Dakota Johnson in ‘Suspiria’.
The 19-year-old actress has joined the cast of the classic horror remake, which will be helmed by ‘A Bigger Splash’ director Luca Guadagnino, Variety reports.
The original movie tells the story of ballet student Suzy, who wins a place at a renowned German academy only to notice numerous disappearances and deaths on campus before she soon discovers that the town is filled with witches.
Amazon Studios has acquired the worldwide distribution rights for the upcoming motion picture, and David Kajganich is writing the script.
‘Suspiria’ – a Latin word for “sighs” – was first released in 1977, directed by Dario Argento and starred Jessica Harper as Suzy.
The original movie was set in the town of Freiburg, however, Guadagnino has moved the setting to Berlin.
The Italian filmmaker confirmed earlier this year that Swinton and Johnson were on board for the remake, and admitted he wants the movie to be the “ultimate horror experience”.
He added: “‘Suspiria’ is a longtime project of mine. Suspiria is really about trying to get to the ultimate horror experience for an audience, to do something that makes them jump in the seat the way I felt I jumped in the seat for the first time during a movie like ‘The Shining’ or ‘The Exorcist’.
“I know this sounds over the top and a bit arrogant from my end, but I at least want to try to make people have the same thrill that I had when I saw my first Dario Argento movie.
“I saw it when I was 14, in the mid-’80s, and it was such a ride. I want to offer a ride into dance, motherhood, witchcraft. We’ll see.”

Melvin Odoom's 'sad' Strictly axe

OHMYGOSSIP — Melvin Odoom was “really sad” after being axed from ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ but insists he’s not angry with BBC bosses.
The radio DJ and his professional partner Janette Manrara were the first pair eliminated for the latest series over the weekend but their exit caused controversy as they didn’t face a dance-off, for the first time in the show’s history, because Anastacia – who is partnered by Brendan Cole – was injured.
But the pair insist there is no bad blood between them and the programme’s producers.
Speaking on ‘Strictly’ spin-off show ‘It Takes Two’ on Monday night (03.10.16), Janette said: “It’s no one’s fault.
“We love Anastacia and we love Brendan and we wish her the best for a speedy recovery.”
Melvin was “really sad” after getting the ‘Strictly’ boot and admitted he and the brunette star were keen to show what they could do in a dance-off.
When asked how he feels now, he said: “Better. It was a really sad day over the weekend.
“It’s really sad to be in this position right now … we wanted to go out there and dance like it was our last dance on earth.
“Everyone has been amazing.”
Anastacia was unable to perform in a dance-off after tearing her mastectomy scar so co-host Claudia Winkleman announced that Melvin would be going home after receiving the fewest public votes.
He said afterwards: “I just need to say, every single person on this show; the contestants, the dancers, the production, the judges, everyone is absolutely amazing.
“It’s a blessing to be on the show and thank you for Janette, it’s been a great experience for me, so thank you.
“It was unexpected but I care about the people before everything else. I love Anastacia, I think she’s a great woman, she’s a great role model and her health comes first before everything else.
“As much as this is a great show and competition, her health comes first. It’s the way it is.”
