Ted Reilly in the dark about Danny-Boy Hatchard's departure

OHMYGOSSIP — Ted Reilly has no idea how Danny-Boy Hatchard will leave ‘EastEnders’.
The actor – who plays Johnny Carter on the BBC soap – may be close friends with his on-screen brother, who announced he was leaving the show in August, but his pal has only offered tiny hints to him as to how his alter ego Lee Carter will depart Walford in the coming months.
Ted said: “It’s sad for me personally because I love Danny-Boy. He’s still around at the moment but he hasn’t told me how he’s leaving
“He’s teased his exit a little bit, but I think he wants it to feel real when we film it.”
But even without Lee’s presence on the show, Ted has promised there’s still a lot of drama in store for his on-screen family.
He said: “There are lots of exciting things happening for the Carters – the next year is going to be big.”
Ted also stated that he now feels fully settled into the show after joining the soap in April, thanks in particular to the stars who play the rest of the Carter family.
He told RadioTimes.com: “It’s a welcoming cast. The Carters created that family atmosphere for me straight away.”
But the actor is amused by show bosses’ attempts to keep the growing baby bump of Kellie Bright, who plays Carter family matriarch Linda Carter, hidden from viewers.
He joked: “It’s a fun little game to guess how they’re going to hide the bump. Will it be a laundry basket, a cushion or a handbag?”

Phillip – who has also presented ‘Dancing On Ice’ with Holly – has revealed they “don’t” talk about work off screen.
He confirmed: “When we’re on holiday, if we go out for dinner we don’t talk about work.”

Stephanie Davis settles on son's name

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephanie Davis has “finally decided” on her son’s name.
The former ‘Hollyoaks’ actress – who is expecting her first child with her former boyfriend Jeremy McConnell – previously voiced her intention to call her baby Albi in tribute to her late grandfather Albert, but then changed her mind, and she’s now settled on both first and middle names for the tot.
She said: “I’ve officially decided on my son’s name! The first name is going to stay as the one that means the most to me. The middle name I want to be something for myself, something I’ve picked for him on my own – it’s a bit different and quirky.
“Everyone loves the first name, however, when he arrives there’s a chance I could switch his first and middle name around but either way, I’ve finally decided.”
And the 23-year-old star intends to give the baby her own surname.
She explained in her blog for OK! Online: “I’m really proud to be able to give him my family name too. My family have been amazing and done everything for me and my little boy, so I wouldn’t have it any other way.
“It was a hard challenge but for a while now I’ve been calling him by this name. It’s kind of stuck and I can’t imagine calling him anything else now. I can’t believe I have this little life in me – it takes my breath away.”
Stephanie has been sunning herself on a ‘babymoon’ and is having such a good time, she’s extended her break twice.
She said: “I’ve only gone and extended my holiday! I’ve cancelled two flights home now – I promise I’m going to come home soon!
“When I do eventually return, all my work will be picking up again so I just wanted to make sure I had a proper break. “By the time I get home I’ll be so, so relaxed and ready for everything.”

Christopher Walken and Robert De Niro team up for The War With Grandpa

OHMYGOSSIP — Christopher Walken and Robert De Niro are teaming up again for new movie ‘The War With Grandpa’.
The two screen legends famously appeared together in Oscar-winning Vietnam War drama ‘The Deer Hunter’ – which was released in 1978 – and they are now reuniting for a far more light-hearted romp.
The film is based on Robert Kimmel Smith 1984 novel of the same name and it follows the tale of young boy Peter who has to give up his bedroom when his beloved grandfather moves in and tries a series of pranks to force him out but soon realises his grandpa is more than a match for his mischief.
The Grandpa character is to be played by De Niro, 73, with Walken portraying his best friend.
It is not yet known who will be taking on the role of Peter.
The comedy is being produced by Marro Films and distributed by Dimension, while ‘Kid Robot’ creators Matt Ember and Tom Astle have penned the script.
The film is De Niro’s latest foray into comedy, which has been a prominent genre in his later career with roles in films such as ‘Little Fockers’, ‘The Family’, ‘The Intern’ and ‘Dirty Grandpa.
Walken has also tried his hand at comedy as he has gotten older with his last big screen role in ‘Nine Lives’ in which he starred with Kevin Spacey.
The 73-year-old ‘King of New York’ actor is famous for portraying a host of evil characters on the big screen, such as James Bond nemesis Max Zorin in 1985’s ‘A View to a Kill’, corrupt businessman Max Shreck in 1992’s ‘Batman Returns and as a quadriplegic gangster in 1995’s ‘Things to Do in Denver When You’re Dead’ but he insists he’s very different in real life.
He said: “I do often play villains. I guess it’s how my career in films started … that was my introduction to the movies and I played disturbed people in both. I got started on something there which was lucky. It’s not a reflection on my own life – I live quietly. My wife and I have been married for 50 years. I’ve never really played anyone like myself.”

Tilda Swinton praises Marvel Studios for diverse Doctor Strange film

OHMYGOSSIP — Tilda Swinton has praised Marvel Studios for encouraging diversity by casting her in ‘Doctor Strange’.
The 55-year-old actress portrays The Ancient One in the superhero movie who is responsible for teaching injured surgeon Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) the mystical arts and turning him the Sorcerer Supreme, the protector of Earth.
In the original comic book series the character The Ancient One is a 500-year-old man of Himalayan descent and some critics online accused Tilda’s casting as a loss for ethnic diversity for the movie.
However, the 55-year-old British actress insists Marvel is doing more to create a diverse and eclectic world than most studios, especially with this film as Nigerian/British actor Chiwetel Ejiofor plays Baron Mordo – a Caucasian Transylvanian in the comic books – and Benedict Wong’s character Wong has an increased role than is depicted in print.
In an interview with OUT magazine, she said: “The film Marvel has made – in which they created a part for which I was not bad casting, in actual fact – is a departure from the source material in more ways than one. Ironically, their casting is positively diverse in this case: The Ancient One in this film was never written as the bearded old Tibetan man portrayed in the comics. Baron Mordo, a Caucasian Transylvanian in the graphic novels, is here played by Chiwetel Ejiofor. Benedict Wong plays a newly expanded and significant role as Wong, who in the comics is a mini-minor character. I believe in Marvel’s wholehearted commitment to creating a diverse and vibrant universe, avoiding stereotype and cliché wherever possible in a determination to keep things fresh and lively. There may be some people who do not like these changes, but I am hopeful that when they see the film itself they may understand why these particular balances were struck.”
Tilda hopes it won’t be long before we the get the first openly gay superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Marvel has had characters come out in comic book storylines, including Iceman who, in April 2015, in issue 40 of the comic book ‘All-New X-Men’ was revealed to be homosexual by his teammate Jean Grey, who could hear his inner thoughts due to her telepathic abilities, and Tilda believes it won’t be long for that positive message to transmit to the big screen.
She said: “We are also still looking forward to our first gay Marvel superhero, naturally. Let’s hope that’s only a matter of time.”
‘Doctor Strange’ is due for release in November 2016.

Steve McFadden wants Phil to live on

OHMYGOSSIP — Steve McFadden is hoping Phil’s liver transplant isn’t going to be the end of the character on ‘EastEnders’,
The 57-year-old actor’s alcoholic alter ego is to undergo the operation to save his life from liver cirrhosis with his son Ben Mitchell (Harry Reid) donating his organ for the surgery.
Phil is keeping his fingers crossed that the writers make the op a success as he doesn’t want to leave Walford after 27 years on the BBC One soap.
In an interview with the RadioTimes.com, he said: “I do know that actors get concerned about the future and want to know what’s happening six months in advance. So there is the temptation to want certain types of storylines. But I’ve always opened my arms to the nature of soaps – you don’t know the end until you get to the end.
“I’m hoping it’s not the end for Phil. I’m hoping he’s going to stay sober and that all goes well. Although, of course, happy endings are only ever temporary in soaps.”
Steve was recognised for his incredible performances on the show this year when he won the Best Actor accolade at the Inside Soap Awards this week.
After so many years on the series, the TV stalwart insists he still gets on set with the same drive to deliver great scenes as he did when he began life on ‘EastEnders’ as part of the Mitchell family with Grant (Ross Kemp) and Peggy (Dame Barbara Windsor).
He said: “I try and do a good job every day, even if it’s just the smallest scene.”

Connor – who took home the Best Bad Boy prize from the Inside Soap Awards this week – said: “In the strictest definition, Pat is a psychopath. Anastacia returns to Strictly rehearsals

OHMYGOSSIP — Anastacia has returned to rehearsals for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ following her injury.
The 48-year-old singer was left in agony after she tore mastectomy scar tissue during training with her professional partner Brendan Cole last week.
The ‘I’m Outta Love’ hitmaker was unable to take part in the dance-off because of the injury, meaning Melvin Odoom was ejected from the show as he and his partner Janette Manrara received the fewest votes from the public.
Anastacia has now been given the all-clear to return to the ballroom by specialist medical staff and she and Brendan will dance a Viennese waltz on Saturday (08.10.16).
The blond beauty – who underwent a double mastectomy to cure her of breast cancer – must take “appropriate medication” to perform, and Brendan has been told to carefully choreograph the routine so not to cause further injuries.
Anastacia is delighted she has been given the go-ahead to keep dancing as she is performing to raise awareness of the illness and is donating her appearance fee to Cancer Research UK.
A spokeswoman said: “She is doing this to raise money for breast cancer, so unless a doctor tells her she can’t carry on, quitting would never be an option. Anastacia and Brendan are now in rehearsal.
“Anastacia visited the clinic of a specialist in breast reconstruction surgery. The doctor again confirmed that there was a tear in the scar tissue, which although painful is not permanent. She was given the all clear to dance this weekend with the caveat that the routine is carefully choreographed and she has been given the appropriate medication.
“Brendan was with her for her appointments and they have been filmed for this weekend’s episode.”
After the weekend, Anastacia will return to the specialist clinic to have another appointment to check that everything is OK and she will be monitored throughout her time on the BBC One programme.

Warwick Davis will appear in Star Wars: Episode VIII

OHMYGOSSIP — Warwick Davis will star in ‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’.
The 46-year-old actor famously starred in 1983’s ‘Return of the Jedi’ as Ewok Wicket and he has confirmed he will be in the sci-fi sequel, but he is remaining tight-lipped on what role he is playing.
When asked if he’ll be appearing in Rian Johnson’s instalment, he said: “I do, yes … That’s all I can say.”
Echoing Adam Driver’s previous comments that the new film is similar in tone to ‘Star Wars: Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back’, Davis teased fans by revealing the movie has some “impactful story moments” just like the 1980 classic.
He told The Independent: “I think (‘The Force Awakens’) sets up the trilogy very well. Obviously, we’re moving into the territory of ‘Episode VIII’ very soon as well, and much like ‘Empire Strikes Back’ I’m sure it’s going to deliver some quite impactful story moments, and it’ll leave us with some cliffhangers as well which resolve in ‘Episode IX’.”
Davis has a long association with the ‘Star Wars’ franchise.
As well as playing Wicket in ‘Episode VI’ – a cuddly bear-like alien who proves to be a key ally in the defeat of The Empire – he also played several parts in George Lucas’ prequel film ‘Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace’, including Greedo the Elder.
He returned in J.J. Abrams’ ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ appearing as Wollivan, a tavern-dweller in Maz Kanata’s castle.
Meanwhile, Driver has clarified what he meant when he said ‘Episode VIII’ will be like ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ – which was directed by Irvin Kershner.
The 32-year-old actor reprises his role as villain Kylo Ren in the next instalment in the franchise and his suggestion the film will be “dark” sparked theories amongst fans that The Resistance will suffer defeats against The First Order, just like the Rebellion did against Darth Vader and The Empire in ‘Episode V’.
Now, speaking to Vanity Fair, he has stated: “What I said was the tone of it was different, I didn’t say that it was gonna be in the vein of [it] – I was using it as an example, so poor example.”
“Next time I should say, ‘I’m trying to think of another sequel to a movie that’s good.’ When I read the script, it was not what I expected, in the best of ways.”

Hugh Jackman teases Wolverine 3

OHMYGOSSIP — Hugh Jackman has teased the next ‘Wolverine’ movie will be “very different” to the others.
The 47-year-old actor recently finished filming the latest outing in the hit franchise and though he insists he can’t give any details about the movie – which has not yet released a trailer, promotional poster or even a title – he promised there’ll be some new details released within the next week.
He told ET Online: “We’ve finished shooting. I just saw [director] Jim Mangold today. He’s editing away and finishing that.
“There’s going to be some stuff coming out in the next week or so. That’s all I’ll say. I’m not good. I’m the kind of person who tells everybody everything. Basically it’s going to be different. Very different in tone and hopefully to anything we’ve done.”
It has previously been speculated that Mark Millar’s 2008-2009 storyline ‘Old Man Logan’, which tells the tale of an aged Wolverine, would be the inspiration for the film.
And when quizzed about the possibility of whether Wolverine “is older” in the new movie, the actor smiled and said: “Which is a good thing. Easy for me to play.”
The Australian star previously confirmed ‘Wolverine 3’ will be his last outing as the titular mutant, who he first portrayed in 2000’s ‘X-Men’.
He said: “It just felt like it was the right time to do it. And let’s be honest, 17 years. I never thought in a million years it would last, so I’m so grateful to the fans for the opportunity of playing it.
“I kind of have in my head what we’re going to do in this last one. It just feels like this is the perfect way to go out.”

Ore Oduba's manhood beating

OHMYGOSSIP — Ore Oduba says his “downstairs” has taken an “absolute beating” during ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ rehearsals.
The 29-year-old sports presenter has bashed his manhood against a pole while training for the Latin and ballroom dance competition, and this week he is using an umbrella which has proved to be extremely uncomfortable when it rubs against his private parts.
He told The Sun newspaper: “I’ve had a couple of moments with my penis. Last week I rammed myself downstairs into the pole before the cha cha routine.
“This week there’s an umbrella and there’s pump action – it worked backwards and again same area, same pain, same mistake. Every week there’ll be a downstairs moment. I’m taking an absolute beating.”
The presenter’s dance partner Joanne Clifton, 32, was left stunned when once incident left Ore in a heap on the floor.
She said: “I didn’t know what to do – I was like, ‘I’m going to rub your shoulder.’ ”
Despite his injuries, Ore joked about taking it a step further and performing his next dance naked after he turned up the heat last week with a cha cha set to ‘The Full Monty’ song ‘Hot Stuff’.
He said: “That’s what you can look forward to if you keep us in the competition, we’re doing it in the buff.
“We haven’t told the management or the executives of the show yet.”
Ore will appear on ‘Strictly’ this Saturday (08.10.16) after he survived the first round of eliminations which saw Melvin Odoom and his partner Janet Manrara controversially axed from the competition without having to face a dance-off as Anastacia was injured.
Melvin said: “It was a really sad day over the weekend.
“It’s really sad to be in this position right now … we wanted to go out there and dance like it was our last dance on earth.
“Everyone has been amazing.”

Steve McFadden saying bye to Barbara Windsor was 'bittersweet'

OHMYGOSSIP — Steve McFadden admits it was a “bittersweet experience” working with Dame Barbara Windsor for her final ‘EastEnders’ scenes.
The 57-year-old actor has played Phil Mitchell on the BBC One soap for 27 years and he was initially excited when Barbara, 79, came back to Albert Square this year to say goodbye to her cockney alter ego Peggy Mitchell, Phil’s mum.
When the time came to shoot Peggy’s last ever scenes Steve admits he got “emotional” as he knew it was the end of an era for the show and the characters.
In an interview with ‘This Morning’ at the Inside Soap Awards, he said: “It was a bittersweet thing Barbara coming back, I knew it was the last time I was going to work with her. I could hear Barbara saying those words they played her voice over for me. When I heard those words it fired me up, and really got me I’m getting emotional just thinking about it.”
Steve picked up the Best Actor prize at the ceremony – which was sponsored by Dream Bingo and held at the Hippodrome Casino in London – and readers of the magazine voted for him due to his incredible performances in a series of gripping storylines, which as well as Peggy’s death have included alcoholic Phil’s battle with liver cirrhosis and the kidnap of his son Ben (Harry Reid).
Steve was thrilled to win and revealed the secret to his acting method is he takes each week as it comes and never reads ahead to find out what is going to happen to his hardman alter ego.
He said: “I’m chuffed [to win]. I joined in 1990 it was 27 years ago. I just try to be the most professional worker, I can’t help it that’s my nature. I just love it … I get the script for that week and I don’t like to read ahead or think ahead because my simple mind can’t handle it.”
And Steve also teased viewers could be seeing Ross Kemp make another return as Grant Mitchell – Phil’s brother – in the future after two stints in Walford this year.
He said: “You can’t keep a good man down, I’m sure we’ll see him back.”
Other winners at the Inside Soap Awards included Steve’s ‘EastEnders’ co-star Lacey Turner who was named Best Actress for her performances as Stacey Fowler, Coronation Street’s Shayne Ward took home the Best Newcomer prize and ‘Emmerdale’ star Amelia Flanagan was scooped the Best Young Actor trophy for her portrayal of April Windsor.
‘Emmerdale’ landed the biggest accolade of the glitzy night with the cast and team being chose as Best Soap for the second year in a row.
