OHMYGOSSIP — Darren Day thinks ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ has changed his life.
The 48-year-old actor has found himself struggling to get screen work for the past decade due to his womanising ways and addiction to alcohol, but he believes appearing in the famous abode in January has saved his career and reputation.
Speaking on ‘Loose Women’ on Monday (10.10.16), he said: “‘Big Brother’ changed my life. So many opportunities have come up and I haven’t been this busy for 10 years.”
The theatre star is hoping to bag a bad boy role in the popular long-running soap ‘EastEnders’ but, for now, is currently starring in the new film ‘White Island’, in which he plays Rik Searle.
He also has another movie coming up next year, although details are yet to be announced, and has just agreed to portray Teen Angel in the stage production of ‘Grease’ around the UK.
Taking to his Twitter account after the lunchtime show, he said: “I’m very happy to announce that I’ll be playing the role of Teen Angel for the first 2 months on the new UK tour of Grease next year Xx … For everyone who’s asking…I’m doing Manchester, Liverpool, Southend, Oxford and Wimbledon on the new UK Grease tour next year Xx (sic)”
Despite his clean approach in the ‘CBB’ house earlier this year, many people thought Darren’s success would push him off the wagon again, but his wife Stephanie Dooley, with whom he has children Madison and Dalton, knew he’d stay on the right track.
She said recently: “I’m 100 per cent sure he wouldn’t go off the rails. He better not let me down now. He’s got family He’s got support, he’s got his children, he’s got everything.”
Stephanie also has son Jordan from a previous relationship, while Darren has son Corey with actress Suzanne Shaw.

OHMYGOSSIP — John Thomson thinks there will be a public “outcry” if ‘Cold Feet’ doesn’t return for a second series next year.
The 47-year-old actor – who portrays loveable fool Pete Gifford in the comedy – has teased that bosses are currently in discussions about giving the go-ahead for another batch of episodes and he’s convinced there will be uproar if they decide against it.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’ on Monday (10.10.16), he said: “I think there would be uproar if there wasn’t (another series) … Obviously on the ratings and the viewing figure, it’s in a strong position but I haven’t had the emperor’s thumbs up yet.”
And, although he’s really pushing for another installment, the star is hoping that writers decide to keep his alter ego on screen.
He explained: “I’d like to think so [bosses want him back] – I’d do it. I’m sure we all would. We love to do it and I think it shows.”
The drama has received rave reviews since it returned to screens in September following a 13-year hiatus and, in particular, John’s portrayal of his character Pete’s debilitating battle with depression has been flooded with appraisal.
He said: “People say depression hasn’t been portrayed accurately before until this. Mike Bullen [the writer] has written his personal story. He went through depression and put pen to paper, so my biggest challenge was to do it justice for Mike’s sake. What I realise now is that I’ve been depressed. There’s clinical depression and circumstantial depression- so I drew on those personal experience but I felt I owed it to mike as the master behind the story to do it as real as possible.”
And despite the positive comments he’s received off the back of it, John really struggled to delve outside of his comic comfort zone.
He explained: “He’s [Pete] always been the fool for the gags with light relief and this time around they thought let’s give John a bit of a challenge with the storyline and it was a challenge. The comedy comes naturally. It’s my pedigree really. I mean I am an actor but I’m used to the comedy. So to play this was for me more fun.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jean-Christophe Novelli has become a father again.
The 55-year-old celebrity chef welcomed his fourth child into the world with his partner Michelle Kennedy in September but was gutted he missed his baby son’s birth because he was taking his two other boys Jean, eight, and Jacques, four, to school.
Speaking to HELLO! magazine, he said: “It was Jacques’ first day at big school, which was a big deal for him. I was hoping to be there for the birth but Michelle insisted that I took the boys.
“I knew it was the best thing for everybody. As soon as he was born at 9am Christina sent me a text with a picture. I cried.
“It was so magical. I have always wanted three sons and this is the perfect hat-trick. All the ingredients are here for a lovely recipe. It’s wonderful to have children.”
The couple – who have been together for 10 years and engaged for eight – have named their little boy Valentino Louis and, although the chef will be into retirement when his youngest starts secondary school, he doesn’t think age is an issue.
He explained: “Age is not important; I still feel young and I expect I will be running for my bus pass!”
Jean-Christophe also has a 30-year-old daughter called Christina with his first wife Tina.
Meanwhile, although they have their hands full with their three boys, the couple are planning to get hitched next August.
Michelle said recently: “We’ll both have Zimmer frames by the time we get round to it. We will do it but organising a wedding is right at the bottom of my to-do list to be honest.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Brooks Way will be replaced by another band on ‘The X Factor’.
The sibling duo – who were taken through to the Live Shows by mentor Louis Walsh – have been disqualified from the singing competition after it emerged over the weekend that Josh Brooks, 17, had allegedly assaulted his former girlfriend.
Rylan Clark-Neal – who hosts the spin-off show ‘The Xtra Factor’ – said while presenting his celebrity gossip segment on ‘This Morning’ on Monday (10.10.16): “It has just been announced they won’t be coming back but I can confirm they will be replaced. I can’t say who, but I think I know who it is.”
Josh and his twin brother Kyle reportedly broke down in tears during their 90-minute meeting with producers this morning.
Rylan explained: “It’s really sad about the boys, there was a story that broke at the weekend, the boys are gutted. We wish them well but the show will go on and we will be replacing them.”
Brooks Way’s elimination comes just a day after they were told they’d been suspended from the programme for the time being and were not allowed to perform in Saturday’s (08.10.16) show.
The pair were reportedly “furious” with their suspension and resorted to punching a wall as a way of venting their frustration.
They later took to their official Twitter account to rubbish the “false allegations” against Josh and stated that he and his ex Amelia Clarke, 18, would discuss the matter in due course.
They wrote: “Today, we have had a tough day with a false allegation. Don’t believe everything you read, both Amelia and Josh will be stating the truth. The truth always wins. (sic)”
The band’s future was turned upside down over the weekend when it was claimed that Josh had sent threatening messages to Amelia and she’d allegedly sustained some injuries.
However, Josh denied that he had intentionally hurt his former lover and insisted she merely got caught up in a fight between him and another party-goer at a New Year’s Eve bash earlier this year.
He said in a statement: “A fight broke out between me and another male at a party. Amelia, along with others, tried to break it up and she was accidentally knocked in the process. It was never my intention to hurt her or put her in danger and this situation is way out of my character.”

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘X Factor’ hopefuls Emily Middlemas and Ryan Lawrie have reportedly resorted to having sex on the stairs of the show’s £3.6million house after they were banned from sharing a room.
The couple – who have been together nine months but have known each other for four years – have been having sneaky late-night trysts while the other contestants get some shut eye after bosses refused to let them have their own bedroom.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Emily and Ryan have been getting frisky on the stairs late at night. They’re banned from going in each other’s rooms so have found a way to bend the rules and head to the stairs for their hook ups instead when they think all the other contestants are asleep.
“And it’s not just at night when they’re all over each other. Ryan can’t keep his hands off Emily and they’re always kissing and cuddling in the house and during rehearsals – it’s creating an uncomfortable atmosphere for the finalists. The rest of the contestants have this theory that if they keep going at the rate they are it’s going to harm their chances in the competition.”
And it seems the couple – who are both from Scotland – are taking their romance very seriously and are even thinking about getting married and starting a family with one another.
Ryan said: “We are pretty serious, yes. I would like to think she is the girl I am going to marry and have children with one day.”
Emily, 18, is currently being mentored by Simon Cowell in the Girls category, while Ryan, 20, is in Nicole Scherzinger’s Boys section after she brought him back as her Wild Card choice.

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Barbara Windsor will be played by four actresses in the forthcoming feature-length film about her life.
Jaime Winstone and Samantha Spiro will portray the 79-year-old icon from her twenties to her fifties, while two child stars will play her as a schoolchild and a teenager in the BBC’s ‘Babs’.
Jaime, 31, told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I am so excited to step into her national treasure shoes. I have always been a huge fan of Barbara and to be able to play her throughout this stage in her life is gonna be very special. I can’t wait.”
Samantha, 48, on the other hand, is no stranger to portraying the former ‘EastEnders’ star as she’s played her twice before in the television production of ‘Cor Blimey!’ and on the stage in ‘Cleo, Camping, Emmanuelle and Dick’.
She explained: “It’s absolutely thrilling to be playing Barbara again. Tony Jordan has written a beautiful celebration of her life – there’s lots of surprises. She is so adored, I hope we get it right and that Barbara herself loves it.”
Barbara will also make a cameo appearance as herself at the end on the short film and is “thrilled” with the recent castings.
She said: “Sam Spiro has already proved herself playing me on stage and TV to great acclaim, as well as having her own incredible career. Sam will now be playing me at a later time in my life which will be a new challenge for her and one she will undoubtedly achieve. And then to be lucky enough to have one of today’s current dynamic actresses playing the younger me fills me with such excitement, especially knowing that it is Jaime Winstone. Boy, am I a lucky lady.”
‘Babs’ will hit television screens next year and will kick off with the actress preparing to perform on stage in the winter of 1993.
Viewers will then be given an insight into Barbara’s life – from her WW2 evacuation, fraught relationship with her father and doomed marriages – through to her role in the ‘Carry On’ franchise, her iconic role in ‘EastEnders’ and becoming a dame.

OHMYGOSSIP — Lydia Bright’s recent romp with her ex-boyfriend James ‘Arg’ Argent in Marbella was the “worst mistake” of her life.
The ‘Only Way is Essex’ beauty was overcome with shame on Sunday (09.10.16) night’s episode when she told her best friend Chloe Lewis that she’d hooked up with her on/off beau while they were filming the autumn special in Spain last week.
She said as they soaked up the sun: “[Arg] ended up staying… it’s the worst mistake of my life. I feel really s**t.”
And, although she had no problem spilling the details to her brunette pal, Lydia couldn’t help but worry what her family will say when they find out she had a drunken bunk-up with her ex.
She explained: “They’re going to be so angry with me.”
But, although Lydia feels repulsed by the whole thing, Arg couldn’t stop bragging about his bedroom antics with the blonde beauty and couldn’t wait to dish the details to his co-stars.
He said: “I haven’t been that happy in the last five months.”
This isn’t the first time the former lovers – who have been dating on and off since they were at school – have ended up in bed together as they decided to give their romance another go last year after Lydia called time on her relationship with Tom Kilbey.
However, things came crashing down earlier this year when Arg reportedly relapsed and the beautiful reality TV star allegedly caught him doing cocaine in her house while she was out.
She told the 28-year-old star: “I don’t want us ever to be friends. I don’t want you to speak to my friends and family. My life is my life, we’re like strangers. I don’t want to know you anymore.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Megan McKenna launched her Rolex at Pete Wicks’ face after she found out he’d been cheating on her with his ex-girlfriend.
The ‘Only Way is Essex’ star – who is known for losing her temper – flew into a fit of rage in Sunday (09.09.16) night’s episode after she discovered the heavily-inked hunk had been sending saucy messages to his former flame Jacqui Ryland.
During the heated showdown in Marbella, Spain, the brunette beauty stood up from her sun lounger and screeched: “I don’t even want to f***ing hear your voice,” before she took off her flash new watch, which Pete had bought her for her 24th birthday a few days prior, and shoved it in his face.
She then claimed he only bought her the gold-plated jewellery – which costs an estimated £3,000 – because he felt “guilty.”
After the explosive row, the 27-year-old star was sent back to Essex – where the main show is shot – by furious producers.
Megan later took to her Snapchat account to clarify the situation as she explained that she was “heartbroken” by his actions.
She said: “I actually found some messages on Pete’s phone a few weeks ago and they weren’t good but I thought I’d give him another chance, as I feel like everyone deserves a second chance. The way he was speaking to me was that he was really sorry and didn’t mean it. Obviously it’s not right that he was messaging other girls but he told me it was innocent flirting.”
Pete found himself in hot water last week when Jacqui revealed that he had told her he wanted to dump Megan once they had returned from their “boring” holiday in Barcelona last month.

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Victoria’ is to get a Christmas special – but it won’t air until next year.
The period drama, which has received rave reviews since it hit television screens just over a month ago, has been given the go-ahead for a second series and a one-off festive episode in late 2017.
Asked if she’s begun writing the new series during a Twitter Q&A with RadioTimes.com, writer Daisy Goodwin said: “yes I have! much to the producer’s relief. it’s not easy, but hope you will approve when it airs next year, autumn 2017 +xmas special (sic).”
The first series, which concluded over the weekend, depicts the early life of Queen Victoria – played by Jenna Coleman – from her accession to the throne through to her relationship with Prince Albert (Tom Hughes).
Details surrounding the second series are being kept under wraps for the time being but it’s thought it will document the struggles Victoria faced being Queen as well as caring for her husband and their children.
Bosses announced the drama had been commissioned for another series last month after it jumped ahead of the its rival BBC’s ‘Poldark’, which was on at the same time over the weekend, in the ratings war.
ITV’s Director of Television, Kevin Lygo said: “We’re thrilled with the reception for ‘Victoria’. We’re pleased to be able to confirm that Jenna Coleman and Tom Hughes will return to continue the story on ITV.”
Producers are also hoping to export ‘Victoria’ worldwide as they believe it could emulate the success of international hit ‘Downtown Abbey’, which came to an end in December 2015 following five years on screen.
The source said recently: “They’re [the bosses] hoping it will be popular in the US who love the royal family and lapped up ‘Downton Abbey’.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Brooks Way have been permanently axed from ‘The X Factor’.
17-year-old twins Josh and Kyle Brooks were suspended from Saturday’s (08.10.16) live show while ‘X Factor’ bosses investigated claims Josh had physically assaulted his former girlfriend and the Sun Online reports that they have now been completely dropped from the show.
A source told the website: “The boys were in bits during the 90-minute meeting and completely broke down in tears.
“Show bosses went really hard saying they can’t tolerate that behaviour and they’re not welcome back at the studios.”
And it has been claimed the pair were furious after they were told of their suspension on Saturday.
A source told the Daily Star: “The boys punched a wall and lashed out. They were so annoyed, this is their big chance of stardom.
“Their gran also claimed ‘X Factor’ were in the wrong. She even tried to get them to put Kyle as a solo artist if Josh was being axed.”
However, Brooks Way took to their Twitter account on Sunday (09.10.16) to slam the “false allegations” against Josh and insisted that both he and his ex, Amelia Clarke, 18, would speak out soon.
They wrote: “Today, we have had a tough day with a false allegation. Don’t believe everything you read, both Amelia and Josh will be stating the truth.
“The truth always wins.”
They did not mention ‘X Factor’ in the message.
But during an interview with Rylan Clark and Matt Edmondson on ‘Xtra Factor’ on Sunday, boyband 5 After Midnight appeared to confirm they had been given the axe.
Referring to Bratavio getting eliminated, they said they had “lost another group” and added: “Remember they are our group, they are in our category. We’ve lost another group.”
The groups category is being mentored by Louis Walsh.

OHMYGOSSIP — Claire King was “in shock” when she found out about Leah Bracknell’s cancer diagnosis.
Former ‘Emmerdale’ actress Leah – Zoe Tate on the ITV soap from 1989 to 2005 – revealed last week that she has been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer and Claire, who portrayed Leah’s evil on-screen stepmother Kim Tate until 1999, was heartbroken when she heard the news.
She said: “When I heard I was completely floored, I was in shock. Leah is beautiful, radiant, sweet and kind – everyone falls in love with her. To have this happen to someone like her is heartbreaking, horrible.
“She’s vegan and a yoga guru, she’s fit and healthy-living. I can’t believe she’s been one of the unlucky ones. It’s cruel – it shows what a b*****d cancer is.”
While the pair were enemies on-screen they are the complete opposite in real life and became close friends.
Claire told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “A lot of people thought we didn’t get on because our characters hated each other. But off-screen we clicked instantly.
“We became really good friends and saw each other through whatever life threw at us – she was always the one I would turn to when I had a problem.”
Leah launched a fundraising campaign and successfully raised the £50,000 she needs to undergo potentially life-saving treatment at a hospital in Germany.
Leah previously explained her health situation on her GoFundMe page, writing: “Just over 5 weeks ago, I was feeling perfectly well, fit and healthy. Teaching yoga classes and workshops, it was a time of new beginnings: preparing to move house, youngest child fleeing the nest, and excited to be starting rehearsals for a comedy play, being back onstage, going on tour.
“But, it turns out that the universe had other plans. Life was about to be unexpectedly turned on its head.
“I began to feel breathless climbing stairs … I just put it down to a bit of stress. My abdomen suddenly ballooned – and within a matter of a few days I looked heavily pregnant. I could barely walk or breathe. Then, one Saturday night at the beginning of September I ended up in A&E. (sic)”
