Cel Spellman to host The Voice UK's V Room

OHMYGOSSIP — Cel Spellman is set to host ‘The Voice UK’s V Room’.
The 21-year-old actor – who was most recently seen playing Matthew Williams in ‘Cold Feet’ – will front the switchover show as he brings fans the latest backstage gossip, interviews the all-star coaching panel comprised of will.i.am, Jennifer Hudson, Sir Tom Jones and Gavin Rossdale, and follows the hopefuls throughout each round of the competition.
He said of his forthcoming venture: “Hosting ‘The Voice UK’s V Room’ is a very exciting prospect – as a fan of music, I’m looking forward to working with four of the best in the business, and bringing an immersive experience to the fans.”
And, although many people will recognise Cel from the TV, he certainly has experience when it comes to fronting his own gig as he also hosts BBC Radio 1’s Sunday afternoon show.
Cel will begin his presenting duties when ‘The Voice UK’ starts shooting its blind auditions in Manchester next week.
Now that the talent show, which was previously aired on BBC, has shifted across to ITV, ‘… V Room’ is the channel’s first-ever switchover show exclusively to air live online and on demand.
Exclusive content will also be shared on the show’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts, and The Voice App.
‘The Voice UK’, which first hit screens in 2012, will return to televisions across the nation in January as wannabe singers attempt to get their big break.
The winner of ‘The Voice’, which will be hosted by Emma Willis, will scoop a life-changing recording contract with music giants Polydor Records.

James Corden to lend voice to Emojimovie: Express Yourself

OHMYGOSSIP — James Corden is lending his voice to ‘Emojimovie: Express Yourself’.
The 38-year-old comedian has jumped onboard the forthcoming Sony Pictures Animation alongside Ilana Glazer and previously announced lead T.J. Miller to help put together the big screen comedy based on emojis.
‘Emojimovie: Express Yourself’ will see Miller portray Gene – the only emoji to have multiple expressions – as his alter ego desperately tries to become “normal” like his friends Hi-5 (Corden) and Jailbreak (Glazer).
Director Anthony Leondis explained: “Hi-5 is a high-five emoji who is a highly motivated, and highly dramatic, hand on a mission, and the brilliantly versatile, ebullient and always lovable James Corden fits this part like a glove. For the rebel ‘break all the codes’ computer programmer emoji Jailbreak, Ilana Glazer is the kind of singularly free-spirited, fearless and funny actress to make girls really feel the empowered ‘nobody’s gonna keep me in a cage’ attitude this character exudes.
“And, of course, T.J. Miller has proven himself to be one of the most genuinely inventive comedic actors around, uniquely capable of connecting and who can convey just about any expression.”
The trio – who currently live in Texopolis, a bustling city where all your favourite emojis live, will embark on a “app-venture” through the apps on the phone to find the code that will fix Gene and make like his friends.
But the phone is later struck with threat at the fate of all the emojis on the gadget depends on Gene, Hi-5 and rule breaker Jailbreak, who must save their digital world before it’s gone forever.
Kristine Belson, President of Sony Pictures Animation, said: “Over six billion emojis are texted every day, and emojis have become a universal language that transcends age and culture.
“The power of emojis is that they allow you to express yourself in a fast and very fun way, and that is what our movie is about: self-expression. We are very lucky to have some of the smartest and funniest actors today bringing their unique voices to this movie.”
‘Emojimovie: Express Yourself’ is set for release on August 11, 2017.

Bad Moms to get gender-flipped spin-off

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Bad Moms’ is set to get a gender-flipped spin-off next year.
The comedy – starring Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell and Jada Pinkett Smith – was only dropped in cinemas around the globe in July but bosses at STX Entertainment, the studio behind the flick, are desperate to rush-release a male version called ‘Bad Dads’.
STX Entertainment said in a statement: “Where other studios have automatically green lit traditional and significantly more expensive sequels, STX has determined those sequels on average are grossing 68 per cent less than the originals.
“Instead, STX has chosen to focus on extending consumer passion for the ‘Bad Moms’ brand with a series of film spin-offs.”
It’s not yet known who will take the lead roles in ‘Bad Dads’ but castings are expected to kick off soon as the studio is hoping the movie will be ready to hit cinemas by July 2017.
And it’s not just a gender-reversed spin-off the studio are hoping to push ahead with as they’re also planning a reality TV show based on bad parents – although that’s a little way off yet.
STX Entertainment explained: “(We are also hoping to push ahead with) a reality television show, short form digital content, and a robust consumer products programme.”
And it’s no wonder the studio is desperate to build on the success of ‘Bad Moms’ as it pulled in an impressive $180million worldwide at the box office and became the film with the highest opening weekend of any movie released this year.
The film, which was directed by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, sees Mila struggling as a working mother while trying to live up to the expectations of perfect parent Christina Applegate.

X Factor rejects Bratavio to do Celebrity Big Brother?

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘X Factor’ rejects Bratavio want to do ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.
The flamboyant band – comprised of best friends Bradley Hunt and Ottavio Columbro – may have become the first contestants to be given the boot following the live shows but they’re adamant their television careers are only just starting and they have their sights set on entering the famous abode next year.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’, Ottavio said when asked what their future plans are now: “We’d like to do more TV, hopefully ‘Big Brother’. We’d like to go on every channel.”
However, although the popular twosome – who famously fell out just before the audition round over undercooked chicken – are desperate for air time, they’re adamant they’d never aim to present a show like the weekday breakfast show.
Looking at hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid, Ottavio said: “A presenting career? We could never take your jobs.”
The glitzy double act – known for their bottom-baring shorts and heavily contoured cheeks – sung their hearts out last weekend when they found themselves in the sing off against Sarra Alto.
Despite their surprising performance of ‘The Only Way is Up’, Simon Cowell – who had the deciding vote – opted to save the Finnish beauty following her incredible rendition of ‘Let It Go’.
The show boss – who is mentoring the Girls this year – said at the time: “That was probably the craziest five minutes I’ve ever been through. I’m not even going to pretend here. If this was a race, this would be like a guinea pig against a race horse.”
However, the boys didn’t take the comments to heart.
Ottavio explained: “We always knew we’d be different and not everyone would like us … He’ll do anything for good TV.”

Robot Wars to return for second series

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Robot Wars’ will return for another series.
The mechanical game show bounded back onto screens in the summer with a brand new format following a 12-year hiatus and, as millions of viewers tuned in to watch Team Apollo claw their way to victory in the gruelling tournament, bosses have decided to bring it back for another six-episode run next year.
Executive producer Andrew Robertson said in a statement: “We’re delighted that the first series (of ‘Robot Wars’) proved such a success and we can’t wait to see more amazing teams with the next generation of incredible robots in the arena.”
The second series will see Dara Ó Briain and Angela Scanlon return as the hosts as they watch Team Apollo attempt to keep hold of their crown against a new bunch of tin terrors in the show’s custom-built arena in Glasgow, Scotland.
Patrick Holland, the channel controller for BBC2, said: “‘Robot Wars’ is a brilliant BBC2 show, full of passion, specialism and spectacle. I am delighted that Dara and Angela will be once again challenging Britain’s finest robot builders to take on the dreaded House Robots.”
It’s also believed commentator Jonathan Pearce – who voiced the original series from 1998 to 2004 – will return for the new series after he agreed a comeback for this year’s installment.
He said at the time: “‘Robot Wars’ is an immensely enjoyable programme to commentate on.
“I am delighted to be involved and back among the cut and thrust of the robot battles. Activate!”

Helen Flanagan will 'sex up' Coronation Street

OHMYGOSSIP — Helen Flanagan’s return to ‘Coronation Street’ will help “sex up” the show.
Kym Marsh – who portrays pregnant barmaid Michelle McDonald – is thrilled her friend is making a comeback to the programme as feisty busty brunette model Rosie Webster next year along with Chris Gascoyne, who plays recovering alcoholic Peter Barlow, and some of his hunky relatives as she thinks the long-running soap could do with some blood-pumping action.
Writing in her column for OK! magazine, she said: “I think ‘Corrie’s being sexed up a bit, what with all the new Barlow boys and Helen’s return in the new year.
“I can understand why people want to spread their wings and try new things after being in a soap for years, but I can also understand wanting to return.”
Helen announced she was returning to the show last week after she walked away from the cobbles five years ago in order to focus on modelling and give birth to her and her boyfriend Scott Sinclair’s 15-month-old daughter Matilda.
And, although she’s no doubt got reservations about leaving her little one while she shoots her scenes, Kym thinks a return is just what Helen needs.
She explained: “It’s been five years since Helen left and she’s now a mum to Matilda and ‘Corrie’s such a lovely place to work when you have a family as it gives you stability and structure, which you don’t often get as an actor.”
Details on the 26-year-old actress’ return are being kept tightly under wraps for now, but show boss Kate Oates has teased that it’ll be great to see Rosie reunite with her sister Sophie – played by Brooke Vincent – in Weatherfield.
She said recently: “The Websters have missed Rosie and so have we. With Sophie away on holiday with her sister it seemed like the ideal time to bring Rosie back home with her for a visit. We are delighted that Helen is as keen explore what Rosie has been up to away from the cobbles as we are.”

Clint Eastwood in talks to direct Impossible Odds

OHMYGOSSIP — Clint Eastwood is in talks to direct a movie about a US aid worker being kidnapped by Somali militants.
The 86-year-old filmmaker is eyeing Jessica Buchanan’s memoirs ‘Impossible Odds’, which tells the real life story of her capture by militants and rescue by a Navy SEAL team in 2012.
Brian Helgeland – whose previous credits include ‘L.A. Confidential’ and most recently Kray Twins crime thriller ‘Legend’, which he directed and wrote – is penning the script and Greg Silverman and Julia Spiro will be producing.
Buchanan went to Somalia in 2011 to help disadvantaged children only to later be kidnapped along with a colleague and held for ransom for 93 days by Somali land pirates after her escort and protector sold them out.
Her husband Erik Landemalm – who wrote some chapters for the book – desperately worked with various agencies to get his wife rescued before American President Barack Obama sanctioned the use of military force.
If Eastwood does helm the thriller it will be his latest big screen foray into real life stories following his movies ‘American Sniper’ and ‘Sully’, which starred Tom Hanks as Captain Chesley ‘Sully’ Sullenberger, who was the pilot who landed a commercial aircraft in the Hudson River in 2009.

Guy Ritchie set to direct live-action Aladdin movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Guy Ritchie is in talks to direct a live-action ‘Aladdin’ film.
The 48-year-old filmmaker – whose previous films include ‘Sherlock Holmes’ and ‘Snatch’ – is wanted to recreate Disney’s classic 1992 animation as a new adventure which transforms the story from the original cartoon.
‘Charlie and The Chocolate Factory’ writer John August has penned the script, which is said to include many of the musical elements from the original but will be non-linear in its structure, something that is a hallmark of Ritchie’s early work such as ‘Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels’.
Dan Lin, who previously worked with Ritchie on ‘Sherlock Holmes’, is already on board to produce.
Disney’s original ‘Aladdin’ movie was based on the Middle Eastern folk tale ‘Aladdin and the Magic Lamp’ which is from ‘One Thousand and One Nights’ a story about a peasant boy who retrieves a magic lamp from a booby-trapped cave and gets three wishes from the Genie he unleashes.
In the cartoon movie, the late Robin Williams voiced the madcap Genie and the beloved film won two Oscars for the music that featured including Best Music, Original Song for ‘A Whole New World’.
‘Aladdin’ remains one of Disney’s most beloved and successful classics earning over $504 million worldwide and the characters are prominent at the company’s theme parks.
It has also been turned into a hit stage show playing at theatres all over the world.

Tameka Empson surprised by Strictly Come Dancing departure

OHMYGOSSIP — Tameka Empson was “surprised” to be voted off ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The ‘EastEnders’ star exited the dancing competition on Sunday night (09.10.16) but admits she is unsure why as she “didn’t put a foot wrong” in her routine.
She said: “I was surprised if I’m honest, not being big headed. I didn’t put a foot wrong and being in that character.”
And the 39-year-old actress is disappointed she didn’t last longer in the competition for the sake of her dancing partner Gorka Marquez.
She added: “I had a bit of pain in my back but I used that pain to drive through …
“I know I’m not what you call a dancer, a dancer type, but I did put the work in. I didn’t want it to be so short for Gorka.”
However, Tameka insists she loved the experience and all the people she worked with on the BBC One show.
Speaking to Zoe Ball on ‘Strictly’ spin-off show, It Takes Two, she said: “They are a great group of people. The talent was tough this year, but think it was a great year for me to do it. I’m going to keep dancing. I love it. I love the whole process.”
Meanwhile, speaking shortly after her exit, Tameka admitted she was “grateful” to have a chance to be on the show.
She shared: “It has been brief. I have enjoyed my time immensely, I really have. It’s lovely to be a part of it, I’m grateful so thank you…
“Gorka is such a lovely person, I think he is a great asset to the show, you have shown me so much passion, patience, motivation and I love you, I think you are fantastic.”

Len Goodman's rift with Bruno Tonioli

OHMYGOSSIP — Len Goodman has warned his fellow ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge Bruno Tonioli.
The 72-year-old head judge has reportedly had words with the Italian dance enthusiast about knocking him with his flamboyant hand gestures whilst giving feedback to contestants on the BBC One latin and ballroom show.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: “There have been several times this series when Bruno has clonked Len in the face. But it was the final straw on Saturday after several incidents involving Bruno’s wild arms and Len decided to confront him about it.
“Len told Bruno to control himself and to stop bashing into him in an exchange off camera. Len knows it’s just Bruno’s bonkers personality but he thinks he could end up with a black eye.”
On the show on Saturday (08.10.16), Bruno was seen bashing into Len on several occasion including while he was talking to contestant Will Young and his dance partner Karen Clifton.
According to the publication, Len – who has sat next to Bruno on the panel since the show’s debut in 2004 – was overheard grumbling before judge Darcey Bussell safeguarded him.
It comes just a week after Bruno stormed out of the studio in protest over last Sunday’s (02.10.16) results show.
The fiery star was said to be furious with the decision by producers to axe the dance-off and eliminate Melvin Odoom when Anastacia was unable to perform and he allegedly fled to his car and demanded to be taken home.
At the time, a source said: “The studio audience had no idea about the backstage drama.”
However, Bruno soon calmed down and took his place on the panel alongside the other judges as Melvin was eliminated.

Jude Law motivated by the fear of failing

OHMYGOSSIP — Jude Law is motivated by the fear of failure.
The ‘Spy’ star likes the “pressure” of not knowing how good a film is going to do as he feels it makes him a better actor.
He told Total Film magazine: “That pressure is quite what turns me on in a way.
“The fear of not getting something right and the feeling of exposing yourself is, because obviously it’s a public job, one of the thrills. It pushes and motivates me.”
However, that doesn’t stop the 43-year-old actor getting nervous on set.
He admitted previously: “I do get nervous, but I’ve realized that as I’ve gotten older, I hide my nerves more, and instead they will come out in odd ways.
“Instead of standing around perspiring or thinking ‘I can’t do this, I can’t do this’, it’s a more a modest sort of anxiety, expressed through being a bit fidgety, or through needing to engage with whoever’s working around you to divert your attention.
“You’re anxious because you want to be good … So that usually raises your attention to detail and your commitment, which is a good thing.”
Meanwhile, Jude recently revealed why he turned down the role of ‘Superman’ in 2006’s ‘Superman Returns’.
He said: “This was a while ago. So, you remember they were rebooting, they rebooted ‘Superman’, not this last time with Henry Cavill. They did it once before … So, I was approached and at the time, I don’t know, it just didn’t float my boat. I just didn’t really want to go there. I’m an Englishman! I felt like it just didn’t seem to fit …
“I was always worried about the outfit. I just didn’t fancy it. I take the suit into the bathroom and I’m putting it on and then I look round and I’m in the mirror and then suddenly I’m Superman right? Then I have this picture of me in that costume in posters all around the world and I was like, ‘No way.’ And I unzipped it. I was Superman for two minutes. That’s enough.”

Margot Robbie's skating nerves

OHMYGOSSIP — Margot Robbie is “nervous” about getting a skating injury on the set of ‘I, Tonya’.
The 26-year-old star is playing American figure skater Tonya Harding – who was accused of organising for an attack to take place on her rival Nancy Kerrigan before the Winter Olympics in 1994 – is worried she’ll push back production by getting an injury whilst on the ice.
She told Glamour magazine: “I’m really excited because I’m producing the film as well, for the first time I have all of these other concerns that I normally don’t think about when I’m just acting. Whereas now I’m so worried about getting injuries and ruining pushing shoot dates back, that’ll cost hundreds of thousands of dollars – it’s terrifying.
“So I’m really excited because I love acquiring a new skill for a role, it’s one of the biggest treats of acting, and on the producing side of it – if I get an injury I’m scared I’m going to ruin everything so I’m nervous.”
And the ‘Suicide Squad’ star certainly isn’t afraid of putting in the training for a movie role as it was previously revealed she worked out for three hours a day to prepare to play Harley Quinn.
Her trainer Andie Hecker said: “She was a total trooper. It was very satisfying to see her body change into exactly what she wanted it to look like in such a short time … There’s a scene in ‘Suicide Squad’ where she changes clothes in front of a bunch of dudes, so her abs needed to be impeccable. And in those tiny shorts Harley wears, her butt was constantly on display.”

Four of Diamonds to replace Brooks Way on 'The X Factor'

OHMYGOSSIP — Four of Diamonds will replace Brooks Way on ‘The X Factor’.
The girl group are set to take their place at the live shows on Saturday (15.10.16) after the sibling duo were disqualified from the singing competition when it emerged over the weekend that Josh Brooks, 17, had allegedly assaulted his former girlfriend.
Louis Walsh – who mentored the groups and originally sent Four of Diamonds home during Judges’ Houses – said he was “really impressed” by the girls and is “delighted” to be bringing them back to the show.
In a statement, the 64-year-old entertainment manager said: “I was really impressed with the girls at Judges’ Houses but only had three spots to fill for the live shows. At the time, a lot of viewers were disappointed that I didn’t put the girls through. Now that a place has opened up in my category, I’ve listened to the fans, and am delighted to be bringing the girls back. They’re a great girl group and I’m hoping will take me all the way to the final.”
And the girls – comprised of Caroline, 19, Lauren, 21, Yasmin, 17, and Sophia, 19 – couldn’t quite believe their luck, saying they were “so excited” to have a place on the live show.
They said: “We are so excited to be back on The X Factor. We’re really looking forward to performing live, working hard and showing everyone what we’re made of.”
The news comes after it was reported that ‘X Factor’ bosses had decided to axe the twins – completed by Kyle Brooks – over the assault allegations.
A source said at the time: “The boys were in bits during the 90-minute meeting and completely broke down in tears.
“Show bosses went really hard saying they can’t tolerate that behaviour and they’re not welcome back at the studios.”
‘X Factor’ continues Saturday October 15 on ITV at 8pm.

Bratavio: We 'always knew' we'd get voted off

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘X Factor’ duo Bratavio “always knew” they would get voted off the show.
The flamboyant pair – Bradley Hunt and Ottavio Columbro – found themselves in the sing-off on Sunday (09.10.16) and were sent home after they failed to impress the judges. Now, they have revealed they “had a hunch” they wouldn’t survive for long in the live shows.
Writing on the ‘X Factor’ blog for the Metro newspaper, Ottavio said: “Bradley thought we could have potentially been safe during the live shows, but I always knew we were going the first week. I just had a hunch, especially when you look on social media and see the public not really getting behind you – it makes you think ‘that’s not going to translate into votes’.”
But getting voted off the talent competition hasn’t stopped the pair from wanting to be in the spotlight, as they have said they’d “love to get on any show”, and ultimately want a career like that of former ‘X Factor’ contestant Rylan Clark-Neal – who now presents spin off show ‘The Xtra Factor’.
They said: “In the future, we want to do like a music video, we want to do a tour and get around and meet some people. We’ll do anything, because we’d love to get on any show.
“It’s good to aim for a career like Rylan Clark’s but, at the end of the day, as long as we’re successful and we make a lot of money we’ll be happy. It’s not about fame, it’s about just making a career.”
The pair were kicked out of the competition after they failed to compete with Saara Aalto’s performance in the sing-off. Speaking on the show after the vote, Bratavio insisted they were “proud” to have come as far as they had.
They said: “We’re really proud, we’re thankful to everyone the judges, the producers, thank you for giving us this opportunity to follow our dreams.”
‘X Factor’ continues Saturday October 15 on ITV at 8pm.

Mark Wright has OCD

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Wright suffers with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD).
The 29-year-old presenter has revealed both him and his older sister Jessica have secretly battled with the common mental health condition – where people feel the need to check things repeatedly or perform certain routines – since they were children.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’ on Monday (10.10.16), he said: “I have symmetry OCD, if I touch one leg in a certain place I have to do it on the same leg. Growing up as a kid my dad had OCD, little habits he does and so does my sister Jess – we all have little habits, we have to touch things a certain amount of times.”
The former ‘The Only Way is Essex’ hunk has been setting time aside to work with charities who help people with the condition.
And, since meeting people battling with the disorder, Mark has realised his fight with OCD isn’t as bad as he initially thought.
He explained: “Some of the guys I met have OCD so bad that they want to commit suicide. With me, I’ll have to turn on a light at a certain time or the volume has to be at a certain level – a lot of people have traits like this. But the people I met recently have serious OCD. Some think it’s funny but actually, when you do meet these people, it’s not funny at all.”

White Dee was 'vile' to her kids before suicide attempt

OHMYGOSSIP — White Dee was “vile” to her children in the run up to her attempted suicide.
The ‘Benefits Street’ star downed alcohol and swallowed numerous pills in a bid to kill herself on Easter Sunday in March and, although she now regrets trying to take her own life, she has admitted the way she treated her kids Caitlin, 18, and Gerrard, nine, in the days prior to the event was unforgivable.
Speaking on ‘Loose Women’ on Monday (10.10.16), she said as tears filled her eyes: “I wasn’t very nice. I was horrible. I was vile to my kids. I told them that I didn’t want them in my house and that they were killing me. I just snapped. How would they have been able to live with that?”
Although she appeared to be holding it together as she spoke about her beloved children, Dee – whose real name is Deirdre Kelly – broke down in tears when she recalled losing her own mother in 2012.
She explained as she thought about her own childhood: “I just thought I would save them some time. I thought they didn’t deserve a mother like me. You just feel so sorry for yourself. I couldn’t see what I had at the time.”
Six months on from her attempted suicide, which she now believes is the “most stupid mistake” she’s ever made, Dee is finally getting her life back together.
She said: “A lot of things have changed in my life. I’m surrounded now but nothing but positive people and I think I’m at the right mindset – well not 100 per cent the right mindset – and I’m getting there.”
Dee became a household name two years ago when she took part in ‘Benefits Street’, which sees residents in areas hit hard by the recession invite cameras into their homes to document their struggles, as many people felt they could relate to her in some way.
She then won the public over even more when she agreed to join the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house in August of 2014 but, despite the praise she got for her down-to-earth nature, she found herself out of work again shortly after her exit.
