Richard Ayoade to host Great British Bake Off?

OHMYGOSSIP — Richard Ayoade is rumoured to host the ‘Great British Bake Off’.
The 39-year-old actor has reportedly become the frontrunner to host the baking competition when it moves from BBC One to Channel 4 next year.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Richard is a really popular choice at the minute, as many think he’s got a great character that would bring a great spark to the show.
“He’s got a wonderful off-beat sense of humour, which would really fit the change of channel – and would no doubt be a popular choice with viewers too.
“It’s still early days, but he is definitely up there and now the leading candidate.”
The news comes after it was reported the current presenters Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins would not be returning to the show when it moves home, despite having presented all seven series of the programme so far.
Mary Berry – who judges the work produced by the contestants – also announced she would not be following the show to Channel 4 “out of loyalty” to the BBC because they “nurtured” her.
She said in a statement: “My decision to stay with the BBC is out of loyalty to them, as they have nurtured me, and the show, that was a unique and brilliant format from day one.
“What a privilege and honour it has been to be part of seven years of magic in a tent. I am just sad for the audience who may not be ready for change.”
Meanwhile, fellow judge Paul Hollywood recently signed a three-year contract with Channel 4, and as of yet is the only announced name to be appearing on next year’s series.
Jay Hunt, Chief Creative Officer of Channel 4, said previously: “Paul really is the star baker – an exceptional talent with a twinkle in his eye. His wit, warmth and wisdom are vital ingredients in ‘…Bake Off’s success. I’m so delighted he’s coming to Channel 4.”
The show is due to broadcast on its new home next year with a celebrity special in aid of charity Stand Up To Cancer.

Justice League wraps filming

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Justice League’ has wrapped filming.
The DC Comics ensemble film, which brings together iconic heroes Batman, Superman, Aquaman, The Flash, Wonder Woman and Cyborg, finished filming over the weekend as the cast took to Instagram to share photos from the wrap party.
Jason Momoa (Aquaman) shared a snap with Ben Affleck – who plays the Caped Crusader – which was captioned: “My man. The batman love ya bud @benaffleck we did it that’s a wrap Mahalo to @guinness and @highlandparkofficial for taking care of aquaman and the JL crew. Odin my favorite ALOHA j (sic)”
Alongside Jason and Ben, Gal Gadot has been portraying Wonder Woman, Ezra Miller took on The Flash, Ray Fisher played Cyborg, and Henry Cavill reprised his role as Superman.
Jason shared his “love” for all the main cast as he captioned a second photo of himself and Ben: “Mad crazy love for Gal Ezra Ray Henry and Ben It’s been an honour JL wrap. ALOHA j (sic).”
Recently, it was revealed that following the large amounts of negative criticism aimed at preceding film ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’, studio Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Comics have decided to make the ensemble movie “hopeful and optimistic”.
DC President Geoff Johns said: “Mistakenly in the past I think the studio has said, ‘Oh, DC films are gritty and dark and that’s what makes them different.’ That couldn’t be more wrong. It’s a hopeful and optimistic view of life. Even Batman has a glimmer of that in him. If he didn’t think he’d make tomorrow better, he’d stop.”
The comments come after Zack Snyder – who directed ‘Batman v Superman’ and is also at the helm for ‘Justice League’ – claimed that harsh backlash from fans has severely impacted his approach to the upcoming movie.
The 50-year-old said previously: “[The hate] did catch me off guard. I have had to, in my mind, make an adjustment. I do think that the tone of ‘Justice League’ has changed because of what the fans have said.”
‘Justice League’ is still a long way from finished though, as it isn’t due to hit screens until November 2017.

Tom Holland thinks he is the 'luckiest kid alive' to play Spider-Man

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Holland thinks he is the “luckiest kid alive” to play Spider-Man.
The 20-year-old actor, who plays Spider-Man, has admitted when he feels “uncomfortable” in his skin tight costume for the superhero role, he has to remember the “long list of actors” he pipped to the post to play the role and remind himself how lucky he is.
Speaking about his wall-crawling character at ‘The Lost City of Z’ Film Festival premiere, which has since been reported on Variety Online, he said: “The suit’s not the greatest thing, but sometimes when it’s uncomfortable, you just have to remind yourself of the long list of actors that would love to be in that suit and you just go, ‘do you know what, f**k it. I’m the luckiest kid alive. I deserve to be here and I’m going to give it my best.'”
And Holland has revealed he has done most of his own stunts in the upcoming ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’, although for legal reasons he couldn’t complete all of them.
He explained: “I did as many [of the stunts] as I could, but there are some things legally that I couldn’t do.
“There were stunt doubles who were all very, very talented guys who really supported me throughout the process. Whenever there was a stunt that I didn’t necessarily feel comfortable about, they would step in and show my how to do it, and coach me through the process.”
And Holland – who appeared in his debut film adaptation of the Marvel Comics in ‘Captain America: Civil War’ alongside Robert Downey Junior and Chris Evans – has teased the fellow superheroes could reunite in the future for a follow-up.
He said: “It’s all up in the air.
“I believe some sort of deal is in the mix, but I’m unclear as to what that deal is.”

Lucy Watson's children will be vegans

OHMYGOSSIP — Lucy Watson’s children will be raised as vegans.
The former ‘Made in Chelsea’ beauty has been a vegetarian her whole life, but switched to the plant based practice, which involves eliminating all animals and their products from her diet, in January, and she’s now adamant that her future kids will follow in her footsteps and will “never” eat meat or dairy.
Speaking in her Q&A video on her YouTube channel, she said: “Yes, they will [be raised as vegans]. I’m not going to have kids that eat meat or dairy. Like, I would just never do that because it’s the most hypocritical thing ever.
“But I’m dating a meat eater so if he happens to be the one that I have children with then it will be difficult. But I’ve said to him actually that if we ever have kids, I want them to be vegan.
“I hope when I have children, it’ll be a long way off because I’m only 25 and I’m quite traditional about things like that. I think I want to live my life before I have kids.
“I think it would be a lot more acceptable by the time I do it and there will be a lot more options around and there will be a lot more vegan kids around.
“The next generation is really who we’re relying on to save this planet so I hope there will be a lot more vegans around.”
Although Lucy is desperate to encourage as many people as possible to follow the vegan lifestyle, she has really struggled to get her boyfriend James Dunmore on the bandwagon.
She explained: “It’s a really tricky one because it’s hard sometimes dating someone who eats meat. It’s like the thing I preach about most and I live with someone and I’m in love someone who eats meat. I think it’s like out only thing that we argue about, ever. And it’s his own flaw. But there are so many people in the world that eat meat and I can’t be annoyed at him because it’s just something that he’s used to … Ideally he wouldn’t eat meat but it’s up to him and I accept that.”
But their clash when it comes to diet means the loved-up couple are forced to cook and eat separate meals most nights.
She added: “We do eat separate meals.”

Freddy Parker voted off The X Factor

OHMYGOSSIP — Freddy Parker has become the latest contestant to leave ‘The X Factor’.
The 18-year-old singer was voted off the ITV programme after finding himself in the sing-off with Saara Aalto, before the viewers ultimately decided his fate when the judges could not be split.
Freddie – whose mentor was Nicole Scherzinger – was joined by Ryan Lawrie in the bottom three, but the teenager’s rendition of ‘Stay’ by Rihanna was not enough to save him from elimination.
Nicole, unsurprisingly, chose to save her own act, while Sharon Osbourne followed suit, opting to save Saara.
Louis Walsh praised an “incredible” sing-off but eventually decided to save Saara.
That meant Simon Cowell was effectively handed the casting vote,
and he threw his support behind Freddy, saying: “I don’t know what happened to you tonight, maybe it was choosing your own songs, but you were like a different person.”
But Simon’s support for Freddy proved to be insufficient and the teenager was sent home via the public vote.
Freddy subsequently admitted he was “devastated” to leave the programme, but also said he was “grateful” to have been given the opportunity to perform on ‘The X Factor’.

Naga Munchetty voted off Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Naga Munchetty has become the fourth celebrity to depart ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ 2016.
The 41-year-old BBC presenter and her professional partner Pasha Kovalev were voted off the show by the judges after they found themselves in the bottom two of the viewers’ vote, alongside singer Anastacia and her professional partner Brendan Cole.
Naga performed her charleston to ‘Minnie The Mermaid’ by Firehouse Five Plus Two – but her effort was bettered by the pop star, who performed her rumba to ‘The Way We Were’ by Barbra Streisand.
Asked to name her highlight from appearing on the programme, Naga said: “This week. Getting to know Pasha, working with Pasha, I’ve loved every minute of it, your patience, your brilliance with your choreography and just being the best teacher I’ve ever had.”
Pasha responded: “Thank you for being the best student I’ve ever had, so determined and so much fun all the time.”
The judges’ vote was unanimous and Craig Revel Horwood said: “The couple who I thought danced actually the best in this dance-off this evening was Anastacia and Brendan.”
Meanwhile, Darcey Bussell added: “It’s always incredibly difficult when it gets to this and very hard but the couple I would like to save because of their performance value and natural artistry is Anastacia and Brendan.”

Paul Hollywood: 'Mary Berry and I will always be friends'

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Hollywood says he and Mary Berry will remain friends.
Although Mary, 81, quit the ‘Great British Bake Off’ out of “loyalty” to the BBC after Channel 4 snatched the rights to the series, Paul – who will move to the new channel with the show – insists there is no ill-will between them.
MailOnline reports that Paul, 50, told fans and amateur chefs at a cookery event: “I’ve known Mary for 12 years and I’ll always be mates with her.
“In fact, she phoned me up yesterday saying, ‘Where are you?’ because normally I pop in to see her and I haven’t seen her in a couple of weeks.
“What can I say? I’m still doing what I’ve always done. I think for me, when they picked me to do the job seven years ago, I was really shocked that I was given the chance to do this programme.
“To see it grow over the years. I just couldn’t walk away from my job. I think it comes down to I love doing my job. I love evangelising about baking and passing the word on and I will carry on doing that.”
Mary’s exit came as a huge shock to fans because it came just days after hosts Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins decided to walk away from the series, but she’s adamant she’ll never forget the “marvellous time” she had on the show.
She previously explained: “Mel and Sue are brilliant and we had a marvellous time on the programme and that’s how it will remain. You’ll never hear people swear. It’s a family programme. Mum, gran, everyone enjoys it and they all get down to baking afterwards. I’m proud of everyone. It gets 14 million [viewers] – more than the football!”

Stephanie Pratt and Joey Essex split

OHMYGOSSIP — Joey Essex and Stephanie Pratt have split up.
The ‘Made in Chelsea’ star and the former ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ entertainer met on ‘Celebs Go Dating’ and struck up a relationship but they have now called time on their romance.
A source told The Sun on Sunday: “Joey wasn’t up for spending every minute in Chelsea with Stephanie.
“He genuinely fell for her and even though they were an unlikely couple, he hoped it could turn into something more serious.
“But he realised it was never going to work with him spending so much time away from home.”
Just last month Stephanie called their romance “the real deal”.
Speaking during the finale of the first series of ‘Celebs Go Dating’, Stephanie said she “never thought I would fall for Joey Essex”, before she added: “This is the real deal.”
Joey, on the other hand, said his relationship with Stephanie could be “proper sick”.
He shared: “I am so excited to walk into this dinner party with Steph. It’s going to be sick.”
However, she admitted Joey is everything she “doesn’t want” in a man.
She said: “He’s everything I don’t want in a man.
“He’s vain, and he’s skinnier than me. I can’t even understand him. I need a dictionary.
“The only thing I’m really thinking is I can see being a best friend that I fall in love with.”
Similarly, Joey claimed he struggles to understand Stephanie’s American accent.
He said: “I couldn’t retrain myself. Steph will have to compromise and I’ll have to compromise with her.
“She’s American. I can’t understand a word she’s saying. This is an international thing.
“It’s like speaking to someone from Spain. Most of the words she says, I’m like, ‘What?'”

Isla Fisher: 'Tom Ford is a genius director'

OHMYGOSSIP — Isla Fisher has praised Tom Ford as a “genius” filmmaker.
The 40-year-old actress stars in the fashion designer’s latest movie ‘Nocturnal Animals’ and was impressed with his directing skills.
She told the Sunday Telegraph’s Stella magazine: “He is a genius with great panache, who is unflappable. Everyone who works with him falls in love with him.”
These days Isla, who has children Olive, eight, and Elula, six, and their eighteen-month-old son Monty, with her husband Sacha Baron Cohen, is quite picky about her roles and limits her career to “one film a year”.
She said: “I’m lucky enough to be able to stay at home and be with my family. I used to devour every script, but now I’m focused on my family life, which has brought me so much satisfaction in a deep way.
“My husband only makes a movie every three years, so we’re together all the time.”
However, she still loves acting and is “positive” about the future of the industry.
She explained: “I still love acting. It’s the greatest form of escapism.
“I’m very optimistic. Things are changing for women – but it feels like every time there’s a female-driven piece of material [such as ‘Bridesmaids’] that does well, everybody acts surprised.
“I can’t compute why, when 50 per cent of the population is female, studios wouldn’t want to actively try to get that audience.”

Katherine Kelly wouldn't do reality TV

OHMYGOSSIP — Katherine Kelly doesn’t have the “ego” to be on a reality show.
The ‘Mr. Selfridge’ actress is a fan of the ‘Great British Bake Off’ but wouldn’t want to appear on the celebrity version as she much prefers to “get into the mind-set” of her characters instead.
She said: “I don’t think [I’d go on a reality show]. I love ‘The Great British Bake Off’ but I don’t have the ego to want to be on it. I like getting into the mind-set of somebody else and a reality show is the opposite of that.”
Katherine can next be seen in spooky new drama series ‘HIM’ but didn’t think about the supernatural elements to the plot as her character isn’t aware of them.
She said: “It’s a domestic horror about a family with a 17-year-old boy at the centre of it. I play his mum Hannah.
“He has supernatural powers – but I didn’t concern myself with that because my character doesn’t know about it. There’s a great twist…”
The 36-year-old star – who has two-year-old daughter Orla with husband Ryan Clark – insists she was never a worry to her parents as an older teenager, but things were different when she was younger as she looked several years older.
She told Closer magazine: “I was alright by 17 because 18 was around the corner and I was happy with that.
“I was a lot trickier at 14 – I looked 18, which wasn’t helpful for my parents. My sister was four when I was 14 and people thought I was her mum.”

Ron Howard's daughter Bryce Dallas Howard is 'very very critical' about his films

OHMYGOSSIP — Ron Howard’s daughter Bryce is “very very critical” about his films.
The 62-year-old American filmmaker – who has daughters Bryce, Paige, Jocelyn and son Reed with his wife Cheryl – has admitted he has “very good resources” to rely on if he wants an honest critique of his productions, although his oldest child’s opinion can be quite brutal.
Speaking to Collider.com about who he can show early clips of his films to and trust he will receive a constructive evaluation from, he said: “Well my wife Cheryl to begin with, she is also a novelist so she has a great story mind and it has always been a creative secret weapon for me, so her instincts matter a lot.
“My daughter Bryce now, when I can get her in she is very smart about movies, has great ideas and she is very very critical, especially [to] Dad. SO i have got some very good resources to go to.”
And Howard has admitted he regularly has “test screenings” because he wants to ensure the audience will not be confused by his storyline.
He explained: “Lots of test screenings as I always do, because I am always curious about the way the movies is communicating with the audience. And, of course, these kind of movies are so complex the questions are always about refining how much information is coming forward, so you’re not too confusing and not revealing too many twists and turns too quickly. ”
Meanwhile, Howard has revealed he is still working on the 10-part series ‘Genius’ based on the late Albert Einstein.
Speaking about his latest ventures, he said: “We are still working on it [‘Genius’], I just shot the first half of the episode – I am directing the first hour. Geoffrey Rush is going to be playing older Einstein, Johnny Flynn younger Einstein in our 10- hour about Albert Einstein.
“Just getting underway, it’s really exciting, great writing and a fantastic cast is coming together around our young and older Einstein.”
And Howard has admitted he has plans to work on two other films in the future, although he is sceptical he will be able to fulfil his ambition of directing both projects in his “lifetime”.
He said: “I don’t know exactly what I am going to do. A couple of high profile books that I am working on, adapting. One is Neil Gaiman’s ‘The Graveyard Book’, very challenging but really interesting. Another one that’s also challenging, is Neal Stephenson’s ‘Seveneves’, really great, very realistic sci-fi thriller. I hope in my lifetime I get to make them both, but I don’t know what one will come first.”

Will Young's clash with Len Goodman was 'final straw'

OHMYGOSSIP — Will Young’s clash with Len Goodman was “the final straw” for him on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The singer – who quit the show last week citing “personal reasons” – was reportedly furious after head judge Len criticised his Bollywood-inspired Salsa routine last Saturday (08.10.16), saying it lacked the traditional dance moves of a Salsa.
A source told The Sun on Sunday: “His clash with Len seemed to be the final straw for him.
“Afterwards, he was overheard telling a production member: ‘I just don’t need this s**t.'”
It has also been claimed that Will struggled with the training he was doing with professional dance partner Karen Clifton.
The insider added: “Will signed up for Strictly expecting that he’d be really good and find it easy, but he struggled with it much more than he thought he would.
“He didn’t commit as much as Karen would have liked, and became very anxious about how popular he was.”
However, a BBC spokesperson said: “Will was in a good mood backstage on Saturday night.
“All couples fulfilled their minimum training requirements last week.”
Meanwhile, judge Darcey Bussell admitted it was “horrifying” to hear the 37-year-old singer had quit the show when he had so much potential, but insisted his exit was nothing to do with the star clashing with her fellow panellist Len.
She told MailOnline: “It’s horrifying to think that somebody who could have easily got to the final [has left]. But you know, like in anybody’s lives, you have many things that are going on and it is not to do with Len Goodman – just to make that clear.”

Josh Brooks 'sorry' for past behaviour

OHMYGOSSIP — Axed ‘X Factor’ contestant Josh Brooks is “sorry” for his past behaviour.
Although the 17-year-old Brooks Way singer insists allegations he hit his former girlfriend Amelia Clarke, 18, are false, he admitted their relationship was volatile and has vowed to seek counselling after he and his brother Kyle were axed from the competition when the claims surfaced.
He told The Sun on Sunday: “From the bottom of my heart, I am really, really sorry.
“My relationship with Amelia had become really volatile and toxic.
“We were arguing all the time. It wasn’t great – then things got physical. There was one situation that got really hostile. Even though I didn’t ever hit her, it’s still not OK.
“I feel bad for Kyle. I’ve had counselling in the past and I think I need to speak to someone again.”
Josh also revealed that they left the show by “mutual consent” following talks with producers but the whole situation was so rushed that they didn’t get a chance to discuss it with their mentor Louis Walsh.
Girl group Four of Diamonds were drafted in to replace Brooks Way on the show, with Louis saying he was “really impressed” by the girls and is “delighted” to be bringing them back to the show.
In a statement, the 64-year-old entertainment manager said: “I was really impressed with the girls at Judges’ Houses but only had three spots to fill for the live shows. At the time, a lot of viewers were disappointed that I didn’t put the girls through. Now that a place has opened up in my category, I’ve listened to the fans, and am delighted to be bringing the girls back. They’re a great girl group and I’m hoping will take me all the way to the final.”
And the girls – comprised of Caroline, 19, Lauren, 21, Yasmin, 17, and Sophia, 19 – couldn’t quite believe their luck, saying they were “so excited” to have a place on the live show.
They said: “We are so excited to be back on The X Factor. We’re really looking forward to performing live, working hard and showing everyone what we’re made of.”

Steve McQueen receives BFI Fellowship

OHMYGOSSIP — Steve McQueen received the British Film Institute (BFI) Fellowship on Saturday (15.10.16).
The ’12 Years A Slave’ director was presented with his prize by frequent collaborator Michael Fassbender at the closing ceremony for the London Film Festival and said it had given him “a spring in my step”.
He told the BBC: “It’s a good honour.
“It’s one of those things where you’re just chuffed.
“It’s a case of just continuing with the work but it’s one of those things that give you a little spring in your step, for sure.”
McQueen is the first black director or producer to receive the award.
Michael called him “sensitive and dangerous” and added, “He’s like a very light hippo – an anomaly.”
During his speech, Steve said: “There are only two things I really know. One of them is that I’m black and the other one is that I’m a Londoner. Everything else I don’t know. But I know I’ve had the possibility of exploring and of being reckless and of experimenting because I didn’t pay to go to university.
“I had the freedom to experiment and it seems to me that is being slowly eradicated. It is our job in this room to keep these doors open for people who don’t have all those chances.”
The ceremony was hosted by Michael Sheen and attended by stars including Alicia Vikander, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Anna Friel, Lily James, David Tennant, Kerry Fox and Matthew Macfadyen.

Eddie Redmayne gets 'stage fright' from using a wand

OHMYGOSSIP — Eddie Redmayne got “stage fright” from using a wand in ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them’.
The 34-year-old actor, who plays Newt Scamander in the upcoming ‘Harry Potter’ spin-off film, has admitted the “best moment” in his life was being able to pick up a wand and channel his “inner nine year old”, although filming scenes with the magical gadget also terrified him.
Speaking about the prop to SFX Magazine, the ‘The Theory of Everything’ star said: “It was so weird. Because when you get to pick up a wand, your inner nine year old is having the best moment of his life. ‘Oh my god. I get to use one of these!’ And then you pick one up and go, ‘Oh. Why does this feel so weird? What do I do without it? I got complete stage fright!”
And the dark-haired hunk has admitted his on-screen character is “nutty”.
He explained: “[Newt’s] a nutty character, and slightly spiky. He gets on with his creatures better than human beings.
“He’s a weird anomaly of things; like being quite physically awkward while also being incredibly agile and capable. I love him.”
Meanwhile, Redmayne has admitted he “grilled” J.K. Rowling about his character when he met the author because he only had one hour to spend with her, which he took as the prime opportunity to delve into his alter ego.
Speaking previously, he said: “I got to meet J.K. Rowling. I had about three or four months prepping the film, and just about a month I think before we started filming, I was here in Leavesden and J.K. Rowling came and it was this sort of brilliant or slightly odd moment in which David Yates sort of introduced her and I knew that she was only going to be here for an hour and I think I was sort of like, ‘Hello, nice to meet you!’ And just basically grilled her for an hour she came to set the other day and I was like, ‘I am so sorry.’ But it was so phenomenal.”

Ola Jordan slams new Strictly Come Dancing stars

OHMYGOSSIP — Ola Jordan claims the newer dancers on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ tried to instigate rivalries with the season’s pros.
The 34-year-old professional dancer – who quit the show at the end of the last series – insists there were “more important” things going on in her life than to engage in petty feuds.
She said: “The new dancers come in wanting to prove themselves and no one can blame them for that, but it can cause problems.
“I got to the point where I just couldn’t bring myself to be involved in any rivalry, other things were more important.”
Ola claims BBC bosses ordered some of the dancers to change their hair colour, but she warned them she wouldn’t be changing her appearance for the sake of the show.
She said: “When I heard that was happening, I told them there was no way I was dyeing my hair.
“Luckily I had been in the show for a long time so they wouldn’t try to change how I look. It only happened with the new dancers.”
Ola – who is married to fellow dancer James Jordan – initially had reservations about being on the show.
She said: “I’m quite a nervous person so I wasn’t sure about dancing and speaking on TV.
“Once we got started I really enjoyed it though. I had no idea how popular the show was going to turn out to be.”
And the blonde beauty thinks the show has changed a lot since it began.
She told OK! magazine: “It’s changed massively. Most of the celebrities can dance before they even start training, which wasn’t the case when I started out.”
