New ITV show follows puppies from birth to 8 weeks

OHMYGOSSIP — A new show based on the lives of four litters of puppies is set to be released this week.
‘Puppy Secrets: The First Six Months’ isn’t scheduled to hit television screens until Wednesday (19.10.16) but it’s already expected to be a huge hit as four breeders let the cameras in to their lives to capture the four-legged creatures’ journey from birth.
The two-part documentary will also see vet Mark Evans dish out some secrets on the puppy brain and how important the first eight weeks of their lives really are as they’re born incomplete and functionally blind and deaf.
He explained: “There’s no pre-wiring in a puppy’s brain to allow them to understand the world we live in. They need the help from us to be able to do it. What they have to learn is the strength and power of their bite. What they’ll learn, and it’s a really important lesson, is a thing called bite inhibition, which is how hard can you bite before it hurts.”
The show starts off in Devon as three baby Chihuahuas – two boys Snuggles and Smiley and one girl Cheeky – are born into the world and rely on their smell and sense of heat to guild them to their mother’s milk, which is packed with energy and anti-bodies to protect the vulnerable new-borns, which weigh around 100 grams, from killer diseases.
Breeder Dan said: “When you first hold that little puppy, it’s just incredible…I think I’m quite hard faced about certain things, but it gets me welling up every single time.”
The cameras then travel to the Cotwolds to film the second litter – Labradors, Britain’s most popular breed, crossed with Golden Retrievers – who are not for sale.
The two boys and four girls – Freddie, Barney, Evie, Lucy, Molly and Betty – have a special destiny ahead of them: as assistance dogs for the charity, Dogs for Good.
If they make the cut, the six pups will be trained to help people with disabilities.
In Gloucestershire, eight gorgeous Border Collies – five girls and three boys – were born into the big wide world and have a lot to live up to as their mother is training to be a competitive sheepdog and their father is the current English champion.
Collie breeder Angie said: “For me, it’s about trying to raise puppies that are going to work, trying to keep the Border Collie strain as a good working strain.
“All the time I’m trying to improve my breed so I get the ultimate thing that I’m looking for, which is a champion.”
The fourth litter is born in Essex but all five pups are in desperate need of a home as their mother entered the Dogs Trust – the UK’s largest dog welfare charity – as a stray and turned out to be pregnant but, unlike the others, their breed is not known.
The cameras manage to capture the pups’ milestones as they begin to open their eyes, wag their tails for the first time and have their first baths.
But it isn’t until they reach the homing process that the reality of how far they’ve come in just eight weeks really kicks in.
The show, which will air on ITV, is expected to return at a later date to show the puppies in their forever homes with their new families.

Tameka Empson's Strictly Come Dancing confusion

OHMYGOSSIP — Tameka Empson is furious with the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ producers for not telling the audience or the judges about her crippling back injury ahead of the dance off.
The ‘EastEnders’ star was left devastated two weeks ago when she was given the boot from the ballroom and latin show when she lost out to Laura Whitmore in the head-to-head but she feels she was hard done by because the pain she was in wasn’t taken into consideration when the panellists chose who they wanted to take through to the next round of the competition.
She said: “I don’t know why they didn’t mention it because everyone knew that I was injured. The show knew – I didn’t hide my injury and I had a lot of physio.”
The 39-year-old actress insists she’s not trying to use the injury as an excuse and simply doesn’t understand why the judges didn’t think her dance with professional partner Gorka Marquez was “good” enough.
She told heat magazine: “I didn’t want to play the injury card because I just wanted to go out there and perform. And I thought I gave a good performance.”
Tameka previously said she is disappointed she didn’t last longer in the competition for the sake of Gorka.
She said: “I had a bit of pain in my back but I used that pain to drive through …
“I know I’m not what you call a dancer, a dancer type, but I did put the work in. I didn’t want it to be so short for Gorka.”
However, the soap beauty insists she loved the experience and all the people she worked with on the popular celebrity contest.
She said: “They are a great group of people. The talent was tough this year, but think it was a great year for me to do it. I’m going to keep dancing. I love it. I love the whole process.”

Amy Childs' breast implants came away from chest

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Childs was rushed to hospital after her breast implants “came away” from her chest.
The former ‘The Only Way is Essex’ star went under the knife when she was 18 years old to take her AA-cup bosoms to a 30EE and then again four years later to give them a lift but she has admitted she deeply regrets altering her look because it’s left her in agony.
She said: “They’re massive. I get backache and I have to wear a supportive bra. Recently my mum had to take me to hospital because I had so much pain in one boob. I had a scan, and the implant was coming away from the wall of my chest. It was filled with fluid.”
However, the 26-year-old beauty is adamant she doesn’t want to have another operation to correct her loose implant as she wants them taken out when she has children anyway.
Speaking to new! magazine, she explained when asked if she’d have corrective surgery: “I just think, ‘Do I wanna do that?’ No.’ But when I have children, I’ll probably have to take them out and have an uplift. If I’d never touched my body, I wouldn’t have to go through this.”
The raven-haired star – who has also had Botox and veneers – isn’t against beautifying procedures but is adamant she’ll never go “overboard” on her lip fillers again.
She said: “I get really upset when people say my lips are wonky. I haven’t had my lips done for ten months! I wouldn’t go overboard like I did two years ago. I looked like a freak.”
Since her ordeal, although Amy is still heading to the salon to keep her looking preened, she is on a mission to warn young people about the dangers of cosmetic surgery.
She said recently: “I go to colleges now and the girls say, ‘Oh I want my boobs done’ and I say to them you have to really think about it, go to the right surgeon, have a consultation. But coming from me to these young girls, I say, ‘don’t do it.’ ”

Cluedo film to become a stage play

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Cluedo’ movie ‘Clue’ is being turned into a play.
The 1985 Paramount Pictures film starred Tim Curry, Christopher Lloyd and Martin Mull among others and was inspired by Hasbro’s world famous murder mystery board game in which players must work out who the killer is from an array of characters such as Professor Plum and Colonel Mustard.
In keeping with the nature of the game the movie had three possible endings which were distributed to different cinemas and the home release featured all three.
Now leading Broadway producing company The Araca Group and Hasbro Inc. are bringing the story to the stage.
‘Clue’ director-and-writer Jonathan Lynn is working with Work Light Productions and Aged In Wood, under license from Hasbro, Inc. and Paramount Pictures to create the production.
The show is scheduled to open at the Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope, Pennsylvania, in May 2017 and will then go on a US National Tour with a UK run to follow.
Simon Waters, Hasbro General Manager and SVP of Entertainment and Consumer Products, said: “‘Cluedo’ is one of Hasbro’s most popular games and the 1985 film has rightfully earned its place as one of the most iconic murder mystery films of all time. We are excited to work with The Araca Group on this unique new live production, which will capture what fans love about the original film, while offering some new and exciting surprises along the way.”
Stephen Gabriel, President of Work Light Productions, added: “‘Cluedo’ is one of those rare titles that transcends genre. The movie’s unique blend of witty dialogue, physical comedy and surprise twists created a film event that will thrive on the live stage.”
Lynn’s other movie credits include ‘Nuns on the Run’ – which starred Robbie Coltrane and Eric Idle – ‘Sgt. Bilko’ and ‘The Whole Nine Yards’, which was led by Matthew Perry and Bruce Willis.
His writing credits for television are also impressive with his most famous creation being the multi-award-winning BBC sitcom ‘Yes Minister’, while for the stage he has directed ‘The Glass Menagerie’, ‘Pass The Butler’ and ‘A Little Hotel on the Side’.

Shrek 5 is given a release date

OHMYGOSSIP — The story for ‘Shrek 5’ is being penned by ‘Austin Powers’ writer Michael McCullers.
DreamWorks Animation previously unveiled plans to release another instalment in the franchise about the lovable green ogre and now it has been revealed that McCullers is currently writing the script and will be reunited with Mike Myers, who starred as spoof spy Powers and voices Shrek.
In an interview with Hollywood News, ‘Trolls’ co-director Mike Mitchell – who directed ‘Shrek 2’ – said: “They’ve got a pretty good story. It’s being written by Michael McCullers who wrote all of the ‘Austin Powers’ films. He came up with a really great idea that they’re exploring.”
His ‘Trolls’ co-director Walt Dohrn – who helmed ‘Shrek Forever After’ – added in the join interview: “There’s more story to tell there and we’re ready to help tell it for sure.”
As well as his work on the three ‘Austin Powers’ movies, McCullers is known for his work on ‘Saturday Night Live’ and also wrote and directed ‘Baby Mama’ and contributed to the screenplay for the animated film ‘Mr. Peabody & Sherman’.
Although the writer has been confirmed, there is currently no director attached to ‘Shrek 5’, but Dohrn is hoping he and Mitchell will be asked following their work on latest DreamWorks Animation ‘Trolls’.
Dohrn said: “We wanna be (involved). We’d love that.”
The fourth film, ‘Shrek Forever After’, was released in 2010 and was followed by spin-off ‘Puss in Boots’ in 2011.
Myers has voiced Shrek in every film with Cameron Diaz playing his wife Princess Fiona, Eddie Murphy as Donkey and Antonio Banderas as Puss.

Moths invade This Morning studio

OHMYGOSSIP — The ‘This Morning’ studio is infested with moths.
Host Phillip Schofield was flabbergasted on Tuesday (18.10.16) to learn that the dressing rooms backstage are riddled with Tineola bisselliella – also known as the common clothes moth – and the insects have been secretly chomping on their clothes for weeks.
Speaking on the brunch time show, bug expert Stuart Hine said: “We had a look in various parts of the back of the studio and there is a large infestation of clothes moths.
“They’re all over the walls. I wouldn’t step in there in your Cashmere clothes because you’re taking those home with you and you’ll be riddled [with more moths].”
The 54-year-old silver fox – who was joined by Christine Lampard while his regular co-host Holly Willoughby was away on holiday – was concerned for the show’s iconic blue sofa, but was relieved to find out that all the guests who appear on the programme and plonk their bottoms on the blue velvet have actually saved the well-loved piece of furniture from being gnawed.
Stuart explained: “If it’s [the sofa is] made of wool, then it is but plenty of disturbance – you have lots of guests on here – will keep them at bay.”
Although the presenters and camera crew have been oblivious to the moth infestation, it’s believed the critters have been taking over the studio for months as Rylan Clark-Neal – who hosts the showbiz segment on the show – was attacked by one in March.
The 27-year-old star was discussing the then-forthcoming series of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ with Philip and Holly on the blue sofa when the insect landed on his shoulder.
He screeched at the time: “What? What? Get it off me!”
Phillip – who was hysterical with laughter – replied: “It’s a moth, it was a little moth. It was the smallest moth I’ve ever seen! [speaking to Holly] Why didn’t you just leave it on him?!”
He then tried to get Rylan to continue his showbiz report by reminding him that he only had “only minute” to finish his set.
But Rylan shouted back: “I don’t care! I was being attacked by a moth!”

Doctor-Who spin-off Class set for 2nd series

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Doctor Who’ spin-off show ‘Class’ is being lined up for a second series.
The highly-anticipated sci-fi programme won’t hit television screens until later this week but bosses at the BBC are convinced it’ll be a hit and are already toying with the idea of doing another installment.
Katherine Kelly – who will portray physics teacher Miss Quill – accidentally let slip to the Daily Star newspaper: “They’re already talking about a second series.”
The new drama is set in Coal Hill, the school that previously featured on the main show, which former companion Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman) recently taught at in Shoreditch, east London.
The academy will be targeted by aliens and The Doctor – played by Peter Capaldi – will arrive in his Tardis to help the children fight off an evil monster called Corikinus.
The programme – a Young Adult series dubbed “the British ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’- has been penned by YA author Patrick Ness and will consist of eight episodes, each lasting 45 minutes.
Patrick previously said: “I can’t wait for people to meet the heroes of ‘Class’, to meet the all-new villains and aliens, to remember that the horrors of the darkest corners of existence are just about on par with having to pass your A-Levels.”
And it’s believed the Time Lord’s appearance in the first episode won’t be his last in the spin-off series as it’s thought he’ll continue to make cameos along the way.
A source said recently: “It will have a close connection with ‘Doctor Who’ so don’t be surprised if Peter pops up.”
Details on the series are being kept closely to producers’ chests but it was previously announced that exciting young new talents Greg Austin, Fady Elsayed, Sophie Hopkins and Vivian Oparah will star as sixth form students.
Each of them will have hidden secrets and desires and they must all deal with their own worst fears, navigating a life of friends, parents, school work, sex, sorrow – and possibly the end of existence.
‘Class’ will hit screens on BBC Three on Thursday (20.10.16).

I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! stars to eat crocodile vagina

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ contestants will be forced to eat a crocodile’s vagina.
The stars taking part in the forthcoming series of the creepy-crawly show are in for a treat this year as bosses have reportedly decided to shake up their gruesome Bushtucker Trial eating task by throwing in the large reptile’s reproductive organ.
A source told The Daily Star newspaper: “In the past, celebrities have had mealworms, witchetty grubs, fermented eggs and fish eyes to eat.
“They’re a picnic compared to this delicacy. A crocodile’s vagina is something else. Ant and Dec will giggle about it but they don’t have to eat it.”
But the crocodile’s vagina isn’t the only thing making it on to the menu as producers are also hoping to bring back some old favourites such as duck feet, pig’s testicles, deer blood, cow’s udders and baked tarantula.
Details on the forthcoming series, which is filmed in Australia, are being kept under wraps for the time being but a few potential names have been thrown about in recent weeks.
Carol Vorderman is expected to be offered a six-figure sum to take part in the tough reality show later this year as bosses hope she’ll draw in male viewers with her “sex appeal”.
A source said recently: “She is well-known and still carries a lot of sex appeal.
“ITV chiefs are also hoping that she will be the brains of the camp. She’s a TV legend and they’re prepared to splash the cash to land her.”
As well as Carol, other names in the frame for this year’s show include former footballer Robbie Savage, actress Helen Lederer and model Lisa Snowdon.
‘Red Dwarf’ actor Craig Charles is also rumoured to be returning to the programme.
He previously spent four days in the jungle two years ago but his stint was cut short after his brother Dean tragically died from a heart attack.
And the former ‘Coronation Street’ star may not be the only previous contestant to make a return to the outback as Spencer Matthews is also in the rumoured line up.
The ‘Made in Chelsea’ hunk joined the show last year but was forced to leave just a few days into his stint after producers found out he was taking steroids.

Stephanie Davis doesn't think Jeremy McConnell 'deserves' to be at baby's birth

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephanie Davis doesn’t think Jeremy McConnell “deserves” to be at the birth of their baby next year.
The 23-year-old actress has claimed she’s reached out to her ex-boyfriend – who she met in the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house in January – on numerous occasions since they split up in May but, with no avail, she’s now had enough and doesn’t want the heavily-inked Irish hunk to have anything to do with their little son.
She explained: “He doesn’t deserve to be there [at the birth]. I don’t think he wants to be there either. I don’t think I could ever forgive him for how he’s been. I used to send him scan photos but he doesn’t care and he never has. It’s just me and my son now. I never thought he’d be that type of guy.”
Although she doesn’t want the 26-year-old star present when her little one – who is due in January – enters the world, the former ‘Hollyoaks’ beauty feels guilty that her child will have to grow up without a father figure in his life.
Speaking to OK! magazine, she said: “I really did love Jez and I tried to reach out so he wouldn’t regret missing out with his son. That kills me. But I can give our son the life Jez never had and hope that he’ll be a better person. It’s easier to let go of Jeremy because I’ve still got part of him with me in our son. It’s heartbreaking because I feel like I’ve let my baby down because I couldn’t give him both parents.”
Despite her turbulent relationship with Jeremy, which saw him cheat on her numerous times, Stephanie hasn’t been put off finding love but doesn’t want to rush anything.
She explained: “At the moment I’m keeping my options open and I haven’t met anyone I’m ready to tell the world about yet … I’m not going to introduce a boyfriend to the public until I’ve been seeing him for a while. I’d want to know it’s true love and that it’s right for my son. Hopefully I’ll find someone who loves my son like he’s his own.”
And Stephanie may not have to wait too long to find her new lover as a psychic she met in Tenerife recently has told her that she’ll be engaged by the end of 2018.
She said: “She also said the baby will have fair hair and I’m going to meet someone next year, but right now it’s all about me and my baby. She said I’ll have a ring on my finger by the end of 2018 and the person will be someone I’ve never met. I’ve been looking at the bin men and the window cleaners thinking, ‘Is it you?’ ”

Coronation Street's Steve and Michelle McDonald to split?

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Coronation Street’s Steve McDonald and his wife Michelle are set to split after she finds out about his one-night stand.
Kym Marsh – who plays the barmaid – doesn’t think her alter ego will be able to forgive her spouse for cheating on her with her best friend Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) earlier this year and getting her pregnant following the drunken bunk up.
Speaking to the RadioTimes.com, she said: “I don’t think so [Michelle and Steve will get through the affair]. I just don’t see how she could forgive him. Who knows what will happen in the future? But certainly I think the reveal of all of this could spell the end of Michelle and Steve for the time being.”
The situation recently took a turn for the worse when Steve (Simon Gregson) found out he could have muscular dystrophy – a hereditary condition marked by progressive weakening and wasting of the muscles – and there’s a 50 per cent chance he may have passed the gene onto his offspring.
Michelle is riddled with worried that their unborn child could be carrying the gene and contemplates an abortion.
Kym explained: “She doesn’t know what to do for the best. She’s worried that she might end up having a situation where her husband is ill and they have a child who is also ill, and she really doesn’t know if she could cope. It isn’t something she’s thinking about lightly.”
But she isn’t the only one petrified that her baby may have the condition as Leanne – who has battled with fertility problems for years – is also concerned for her child’s health.
And the storyline, which also affects Steve’s daughter Amy (Elle Mulvaney) with Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford), is set to get even more explosive over the coming months.
Kym teased: “We also know how big this storyline is going to get in the coming months, so it’s exciting to be working on something which is a slow burner and has so many twists and turns in the plot. This one is just the latest one – there’s more to come.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Alex Graves is to direct Sony Pictures’ live action adaption of ‘Mulan’.
The 51-year-old director – whose previous credits include episodes of ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Homeland’ and ‘Shameless’ – has been hired by the studio to bring the Chinese legend of Hua Mulan, the young female warrior who takes her ailing father’s place in the Chinese Imperial Army, to the big screen.

Sony’s film is not the only live action ‘Mulan’ movie coming to the big screen.

Marty McKenna heartbroken over split from mystery woman

OHMYGOSSIP — Marty McKenna was heartbroken when his girlfriend moved to Germany.
The ‘Geordie Shore’ star – who has enjoyed an on/off relationship with co-star Chloe Ferry in the past – had been in a relationship with a mystery woman since September, but despite branding her as the “only girl” he has ever loved, they failed to make their relationship work when she moved to Germany.
He told The Sun Online: “I was buzzing about the relationship and then she moved to Germany.
“We were still in the honeymoon stage where we were seeing each other every day and then she f***ed off. She was the only girl I’ve ever loved.”
The 22-year-old reality star confessed that while he tried to keep up a long distance relationship, he was too “stressed” and things had to end.
He added: “The first two weeks were easy but then it got too much.
“I was getting stressed and I was snapping at my family and friends.
“There’s plenty more fish in the sea but the sea is so big and I don’t think they’ll ever be anyone like her.”
Marty admitted his secret girlfriend had given him the go ahead to continue on the show.
He said recently: “Next series I have to go in with a girlfriend. It’s going to be a test. I’m not known on the show for pulling loads of birds, I’m there to have a good time. And she trusts me.”
Chloe said back in June that she believes she’ll end up tying the knot with Marty.
She said: “He’s the male version of me. His dancing is the same as mine, we eat the same food. I’ve never got on better with anyone in my life. He’s so funny, he makes me wet myself laughing. I’m so happy I’ve met him. I feel comfortable in front of him and I’ve never felt like that before.
“At the minute, we’re 20 and I don’t want to get into a relationship. I want to enjoy myself. One day I’d like to marry Marty, he could be The One.”

Leonardo DiCaprio 'to produce Captain Planet film'

OHMYGOSSIP — Leonardo DiCaprio is to produce the ‘Captain Planet’ movie.
The ‘Revenant’ star – who has a self-titled foundation which aims to protect the world and endangered species – is in talks for the rights to the 1990s cartoon series through his production company, Appian Way Productions.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, DiCaprio is keen to add Glen Powell and his writing partner Jono Matt to the project to pen the script.
Powell is also an actor, starring in the likes of TV series ‘Scream Queens’, so could feature on the other side of the camera as well as behind the scenes, but it is not known if this is being considered.
Should a deal go through DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson Killoran will produce the motion picture.
The ‘Captain Planet and the Planeteers’ TV show aired from September 1990 to December 1992 and told the story of five youths from across the globe who were sent magic rings, four with the power to control an element of nature and one controlling heart.
They were known as the Planeteers and sought to defend the earth from disasters and to educate mankind about the earth.
Captain Planet would appear on each episode to remind viewers that “the Planet is yours”.
The movie could be an ideal fit for environmentalist DiCaprio who, through his foundation – which he set up in 1998 – has pledged millions to environmental groups over the years.
He once said: “The destruction of our planet continues at a pace we can no longer afford to ignore.
“We have a responsibility to innovate a future where the habitability of our planet does not come at the expense of those who inhabit it. I am proud to support these organisations who are working to solve humankind’s greatest challenge.”

Kevin Costner in talks for Molly's Game

OHMYGOSSIP — Kevin Costner is in talks to join the ‘Molly’s Game’ cast.
The 61-year-old actor is reportedly in negotiations to play the father of the titular character in the drama, which already has Jessica Chastain signed on to play the lead, with Idris Elba and Michael Cera also set for roles.
‘Molly’s Game’ marks the directorial debut of Oscar-winning screenwriter Aaron Sorkin, and is adapted from the memoir by Molly Bloom, entitled ‘Molly’s Game: From Hollywood’s Elite to Wall Street’s Billionaire Boys Club, My High-Stakes Adventure in the World of Underground Poker’.
The story follows Molly, a skier who heads to Los Angeles to become a cocktail waitress after her Olympic dreams are dashed.
There, she rises through the social ranks to become an organiser of underground poker games for the Hollywood elite, but when a Russian mob connection surfaces, the FBI moves in and the game is over.
The movie focuses on her relationship with her criminal defence lawyer (Elba), who realises there’s much more to Molly than meets the eye.
Producer Mark Gordon previously said: “[The story is] a very human story … It’s a character piece, it’s the people in her life, it’s her transformation of going from a young woman who was just about to go to law school who got sucked up into this wonderful, horrible opportunity of running this card game in Los Angeles.”
Entertainment One and The Mark Gordon Company have secured financing for the project, and in addition to Gordon, Amy Pascal will also produce via her Pascal Pictures banner. Leopoldo Gout will serve as executive producer.
A release date is yet to be set for the feature, but shooting begins next month.
