Brief Encounters star Angela Griffin seemingly takes swipe at Poldark

OHMYGOSSIP — Angela Griffin has seemingly taken a swipe at ‘Poldark’ for broadcasting a controversial ‘rape’ scene in the wake of her series ‘Brief Encounters’ getting axed by ITV.
The 40-year-old actress is “gutted” that her 1980s-set show – in which she starred as Ann Summers sales rep Nita Dempsey – has been dropped after one series, and in a bitter Twitter rant she appears to have slammed the BBC period drama for airing scenes of an explicit nature and ITV for not letting the “popular” and “funny” show develop, despite good viewing figures.
She tweeted: “Working class, women, northern, new writing, no dead bodies, dead kids or rape. Popular. Funny #briefencounters #gutted … 5.7m people watched #BriefEncounters for six weeks over the summer (2.3m more than the average). It hasn’t been recomissioned…. discuss… (sic)”
Angela could be referring to the scene in ‘Poldark’ in which Aidan Turner as titular character Captain Ross Poldark bedded his former fiancee Elizabeth Chynoweth [Heida Reed], despite her initial protestations for him to stop before then succumbing to his advances.
‘Brief Enounters’, which also starred Penelope Wilton and Sharon Rooney, won’t be renewed by ITV, the show’s writers Oriane Messina and Fay Ruslin confirmed.
A joint statement posted on Twitter read: “Thanks to the 5 million who spent their six week summer holiday with ‘Brief Encounters’. We got drunk together, argued, laughed, cried, got sexy and fell in love.
“Sadly, we won’t be holidaying together next year but we hope you will come with us on our next TV adventure.”
ITV added in a statement: “We have taken the difficult decision not to recommission ‘Brief Encounters’ for a second series.
“As a broadcaster we seek to commission a diverse range of drama and as a consequence continually refresh our drama portfolio. We’d like to thank the writers Oriane Messina and Fay Rusling, the production team at CPL Productions and the Brief Encounters cast for their commitment and hard work in creating the drama.”
However, CPL Productions have vowed to find a new broadcaster for the show.
They said: “Our funny and forthright women struck such a chord with audiences in the UK and worldwide that we are confident there is an appetite for more ‘Brief Encounters’, and are looking into all alternative options.”

Joe Swash and Stacey Solomon will be the new Eamonn and Ruth

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe Swash says he and his girlfriend Stacey Solomon are going to be like the new “Eamonn and Ruth” on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Extra Camp’.
The pair – who have been together for almost a year – are going to make their joint presenting debut as a couple on the ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ spin-off show and will be joined on the ITV2 programme by Vicky Pattison and Chris Ramsey.
Joe cannot wait to work with the love of his life Stacey – both of whom are former ‘I’m A Celebrity…’ winners – and is predicting their style as co-hosts will be similar to ‘This Morning’ husband and wife team Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, who regularly appears with Stacey on ‘Loose Women’.
In an interview with The Huffington Post UK, former ‘X Factor’ star Stacey said: “I think we’re going to have a right laugh. First and foremost we’re friends, and we’ve worked together before as friends and loved it, so I don’t think we see it as any different to that really. We just get to go home together and act like Richard and Judy.”
Joe, 34, then interjected: “I think we’re more Ruth and Eamonn!”
When asked if they would bicker just like Eamonn and Ruth do on ‘This Morning’, the former ‘EastEnders’ actor replied: “I think we’ll have our moments.”
Stacey, 27, then joked: “Joe’s hard work, do you know what I mean?”
Fellow Queen of the Jungle Vicky – who came first on ‘I’m A Celebrity…’ in 2015 – agrees with Joe’s comparison to Eamonn and Ruth.
The former ‘Geordie Shore’ star – who appears as a team captain on Eamonn’s Channel 5 panel show ‘It’s Not Me, It’s You’ – said: “Stacey is more like Eamonn, she’s got the cheeky banter, while Joe takes it like Ruth does.”

Lisa Riley has turned down I'm A Celebrity seven times

OHMYGOSSIP — Lisa Riley has spurned the opportunity to appear on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ seven times.
The former ‘Emmerdale’ star has received a call from producers on the ITV reality show for the past seven years but has so far resisted the lure of a big pay day to endure the gruelling and sometimes revolting Bushtucker Trials.
During a conversation about the soon-to-start new series on ‘Loose Women’ on Tuesday (08.11.16), she spilled: “They’ve actually offered me the jungle for the last seven years. They offered to me this year and I was like, ‘Oh, I don’t know.’ ”
The thing that’s putting Lisa off from heading to the Australian jungle is her massive phobia of rodents.
But although the 40-year-old actress has repeatedly said no to becoming a campmate for Ant and Dec to toy with she won’t completely rule out an appearance on the programme.
She added: “I think for me the spiders and eating the weird stuff would be fine, but if you remember Joe Pasquale when he had to in the rat box, that would be it for me. Rats and mice I could not do, I have a thing about them. My cat brought in a mouse once and I was literally neurotic. The mice no way, maybe I might think about it.”
Lisa’s fellow panellist Janet Street-Porter – who appeared on ‘I’m A Celebrity…’ in 2004, finishing fourth – warned her that the rats don’t just feature in the trials but also scurry through camp every evening.
Janet said: “They are all running around the camp too.”
Ruth Langsford and Coleen Nolan, the day’s other panellists, admitted they had never been offered a spot on the show, much to their disappointment.
Ruth – who is married to Eamonn Holmes – said: “I’ve never been asked to do it. I could do the eating challenges but I could never do the locked in challenges, I’d get too claustrophobic.”
Coleen added: “No, I’ve never been asked to do it either.”
‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ returns on Sunday (13.11.16) on ITV and among the stars taking part are Carol Vorderman, Gogglebox’s Scarlett Moffatt, ex ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ pro Ola Jordan, retired England footballer Wayne Bridge, model Lisa Snowdon and Diversity’s Jordan Banjo.

Rafe Spall and Toby Jones set for Jurassic World sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Rafe Spall and Toby Jones are being eyed for roles in the ‘Jurassic World’ sequel.
Details of the upcoming blockbuster – which will see Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard return – are being kept tightly under wraps, but according to Variety, director Juan Antonio Bayona has offered mystery parts to the two actors, and is currently auditioning to fill other roles in the film.
While the sequel is being kept top secret, Colin Trevorrow, who co-wrote and directed ‘Jurassic World’ has revealed it will be “more suspenseful and scary” than the 2015 movie, and admitted Bayona was specifically brought in to offer his own unique skills to the project.
Trevorrow said: “It will be more suspenseful and scary.
“It’s just the way it’s designed; it’s the way the story plays out. I knew I wanted Bayona to direct it long before anyone ever heard that was a possibility, so the whole thing was just built around his skill set.”
Director Bayona recently revealed he would be working with a mammoth budget of $260 million – $110 million more than the reported $150 million cost of ‘Jurassic World’.
What’s more, the movie is said to have been given an official title, and while the 41-year-old filmmaker didn’t give it away, he teased it would be revealed soon.
Spall will next be seen in ‘Mum’s List’, which hits cinemas later this month, and Jones will be one of the villains on the upcoming series of ‘Sherlock’.
‘Jurassic World 2’ is scheduled for release in June 2018.

Dumbledore to appear in Fantastic Beasts sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Professor Albus Dumbledore will appear in the ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ series.
A younger version of the late Hogwarts headmaster – who was originally portrayed in the ‘Harry Potter’ series by the late Richard Harris, before Sir Michael Gambon took over following the actor’s death from cancer – is currently being sought for the second film in the series, which is set in 1920s New York City.
Director David Yates, who also confirmed Eddie Redmayne’s magizoologist Newt Scamander will feature in the next movie, admitted he is seeking “suggestions” for the role.
He said: “In the second movie Dumbledore comes back. He’s got a couple of good scenes with Newt… We’re discussing who would play Dumbledore, any suggestions would be good.”
The details of the second in the planned five-part series – which is scheduled for release in 2018 – have not been released, but it is known that it “moves deeper into an increasingly dark time for the wizarding world.”
It has been speculated the teaser refers to the rise to power of Gallert Grindelwald, a childhood friend of Dumbledore before he became a powerful dark wizard in his later years.
And with Johnny Depp recently announced as appearing in the movie – and making a cameo in the first film – it is expected he will be taking on the role of Grindelwald.
Meanwhile, Eddie recently admitted J.K. Rowling’s announcement there will be five films in the saga came as a shock to the cast.
He said: “She always had a specific story she wanted to tell, which goes much further beyond just Newt and his case.
“But we didn’t realise it was going to be five films.”

Craig Revel Horwood: Ed Balls could win Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Craig Revel Horwood thinks Ed Balls could be the “wild card” that wins ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 51-year-old judge would love to see either ‘Hollyoaks’ star Danny Mac, former Eternal singer Louise Redknapp or sports journalist Ore Oduba take home the glitter ball trophy on the BBC One Latin and ballroom show, but he is worried viewers will give the former politician the people’s vote just to “spite” him.
Asked who he thinks will be dancing their way into the final, he said: “Danny [Mac], Louise Redknapp, and I love Ore! Although I have a horrible feeling that Ed Balls has enough gimmicks to be the wild card … And the public will keep voting for him just to spite me!”
After seeing Ann Widdecombe make it into week 10, the harsh critic thinks Ed could stand a chance but he doesn’t think he has any “flair” for dancing and he doubts he has it in him to be as good as Danny, 28, Louise, 42 and Ore, 29.
He said: “He could train even harder, but the flair for dancing just ins’t there and I can’t imagine his technique ever reaching the level of Danny or Ore. But Ann Widdecombe got through to week 10, so anything is possible!
“I mean, he could go on to win it … it’s entirely up to the audience in the end, but of course if he ever ends up in the bottom two he’ll be out straightaway.”
However, Craig has praised the 49-year-old star for keeping “good timing” and has admitted he exceeded all of his expectations.
In his half-term report for the ‘Strictly’ class of 2016, Craig said of Ed in Radio Times magazine: “Much to my surprise, he actually keeps good timing, he is entertaining. And probably to everyone’s surprise, the public love him.
“I was expecting him to be a lot worse than he is – I definitely didn’t think he would throw himself into the dancing as much as he has!”
However, the dance enthusiast is not impressed with Ed’s lack of technique.
On Ed’s biggest weakness, he added: “Unfortunately he has absolutely no semblance of technique whatsoever.”

Melvin Odoom to return to Strictly Come Dancing for Christmas special

OHMYGOSSIP — Melvin Odoom will make a return to ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ for the Christmas special.
The radio and television host will take to the dance floor once again – following his untimely exit on the current series of the BBC One show – as part of the dancing competition’s yuletide celebration.
Ainsley Harriott, who took part in series 13, and Gethin Jones, who appeared in series 5, will also dust off their dancing shoes.
Fan favourite Frankie Bridge will fight for the coveted Silver Star trophy whilst writer and actress Pamela Stephenson and Olympian Denise Lewis complete the line up.
The six couples will be tasked with performing for the four judges – Len Goodman, Craig Revel Horwood, Darcey Bussell and Bruno Tonioli. The Christmas special will also mark Len’s final time on the judging panel.
There will also be a special musical performance at the event, which will be hosted by ‘Strictly’ presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.
The news will no doubt thrill Melvin as he previously admitted he was “really sad” to be axed from ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
Asked how he felt at the time, he said: “It was a really sad day over the weekend. It’s really sad to be in this position right now … we wanted to go out there and dance like it was our last dance on earth. Everyone has been amazing.”
Whilst speaking after he found out he would be leaving, he shared: “I just need to say, every single person on this show; the contestants, the dancers, the production, the judges, everyone is absolutely amazing. It’s a blessing to be on the show and thank you for Janette, it’s been a great experience for me, so thank you.
“It was unexpected but I care about the people before everything else. I love Anastacia, I think she’s a great woman, she’s a great role model and her health comes first before everything else. As much as this is a great show and competition, her health comes first. It’s the way it is.”

Brief Encounters axed after one series

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Brief Encounters’ will not be recommissioned for a second series.
The television show – which documented the early years of lingerie company Ann Summers and the rise of the company’s infamous parties – won’t be renewed by ITV, the show’s writers Oriane Messina and Fay Ruslin have confirmed.
A joint statement posted on Twitter reads: “Thanks to the 5 million who spent their six week summer holiday with Brief Encounters. We got drunk together, argued, laughed, cried, got sexy and fell in love.
“Sadly, we won’t be holidaying together next year but we hope you will come with us on our next TV adventure.”
Whilst ITV added in a statement: “We have taken the difficult decision not to recommission Brief Encounters for a second series.
Meanwhile, fans took to Twitter to express their disappointment that the female-led period drama – which starred Penelope Wilton, Sharon Rooney and Angela Griffin – had been cancelled.
One wrote: “don’t even bother getting emotionally involved with a tv series on @ITV, they rip out your heart by cancelling the series #briefencounters (sic)”
Whilst another added: “#BriefEncounters So-another brilliant female led drama has fallen foul of @ITV ‘s need to “refresh our drama portfolio” nonsense (sic)”
Fans who are calling for the return of ‘Home Fires’ – which was axed by ITV after two series – have also lent their voices to the campaign to save ‘Brief Encounters’.
A campaign on change.org to ask ITV to reconsider their stance on ‘Home Fires’ has already received over 35,000 signatures.

Nigel Farage turned down £1m for I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here

OHMYGOSSIP — Nigel Farage turned down one million pounds to enter the ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here’ jungle.
The former UKIP leader was reportedly offered the hefty sum to appear on the ITV show but ultimately decided against it.
A source close to Nigel told The Sun newspaper: “They got close to a million by the end, they hinted it could have gone even further.”
The 52-year-old politician previously insisted it would be a “serious dereliction of duty” to enter the infamous Australian jungle.
He said: “I’ve always said that I’m open-minded about everything but I think going into the jungle after last week’s events would be a serious dereliction of duty.”
Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that Nigel is keen to take part in a reality show.
A source shared at the time: “Farage is keen to appear on reality TV but he is asking for far too much money. He has been in talks with ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ but insisted he wanted £750,000 to take part.
“His demands were way out of this year’s budget. The highest paid contestant this year is Christopher Biggins but even he is earning less than half of that. Farage is definitely in the market for reality TV but he is being too greedy.
“The BBC won’t touch him for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ as he is too much of a political hot potato, so he is setting his sights on ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here’ instead. However, until he gets a reality check on money he has no chance.”
‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here’ begins on Sunday November 13, where Carol Vorderman, ‘Gogglebox’s Scarlett Moffatt and former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ pro Ola Jordan are just some of the famous names to enter the jungle.

Wayne Bridge to open up about John Terry feud on I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here

OHMYGOSSIP — Wayne Bridge is expected to open up about his feud with John Terry on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’.
The footballers are said to have fallen out ever since John allegedly had an affair with Wayne’s ex-girlfriend Vanessa Perroncel in 2010 and Wayne subsequently refused to shake John’s hand when they played in a match against each other.
He told The Sun newspaper: “This whole thing is so different for me. I have never really put myself out there publicly before.
“People either say that I am famous for playing football or some might say I am famous for not shaking someone’s hand but I would like people to get to know me for who I am.”
Meanwhile, producers are hopeful Wayne – who is married to The Saturdays star Frankie Bridge and has three-year-old son Parker and Carter, 14 months, with the singer and Jaydon, nine, with Vanessa – will feel comfortable to discuss the topic with his campmates.
A source said: “Wayne never really sought fame when he was a footballer so it’s surprising he agreed to go in the jungle. But ITV believe they’ve made a real coup getting him on board as he’s never discussed the John Terry scandal before. They’re secretly hoping the subject crops up during while the celebs talk endlessly around the camp fire to pass time.”
And Carol Vorderman is also looking forward to heading into the jungle.
She said: “Now I am a menopausal Mama, I am having the time of my life. I am doing a lot more adventurous stuff and it’s the sense of adventure that I love about this show. It’s a very free time in my life.
“I know people will ask ‘why does Carol need to do this?’ But I have never paid attention to what others think. I make my own decisions. I like the show and want to do it. I have been watching the show for years and have laughed so much. It is so funny.”
‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’ hits screens on Sunday November 13 on ITV.

Ezra Miller not worried by director quitting The Flash

OHMYGOSSIP — Ezra Miller isn’t concerned about director Rick Famuyiwa quitting ‘The Flash’ film.
Rick, 43, was brought on board for the blockbuster, a standalone movie about the titular super-fast superhero Barry Allen played by Ezra, after Seth Grahame-Smith exited the project back in May.
But last week the ‘Dope’ filmmaker decided to walk away from the DC Comics adventure due to creative differences between himself and executives at Warner Bros. Studios.
Although Ezra is disappointed his DC Extended Universe film has suffered the setback he insists these things happen when you’re working on such a huge movie and it’s just part of the process.
Speaking at a press junket to launch his latest film ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ – in which he plays Credence Barebone – Ezra said: “These processes are complicated, and I think it can – from afar – appear to be, as you say, something interpersonal or dramatic. That is rarely the case. These are groups of people taking the development of projects extremely seriously, and the teams are changing all the time. There’s often a lot of flux in who the team of the production of a film is before that production starts, and in this case, you hear about it, because it’s a critical figure – the directors that have been coming on and leaving. For me, it’s sort of a tragic relay race, and we’ve had a couple really incredible people carry this baton, and their marks are left on that baton, and the work that they’ve given to the project will certainly be represented in whatever the final product comes to be.”
Ezra has appeared as The Flash in two cameo appearances in ‘Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice’ and ‘Suicide Squad’ and will have his first major appearance as the lightning quick superhero in the upcoming ‘Justice League’ film.
The 24-year-old actor has fully embraced the character and has read a lot of DC Comics adventures to make sure his portrayal of Barry Allen is accurate.
He shared: “I’ve been investigating and composing the character since the moment I started considering doing the screen test. Fortunately, a lot of that research is extremely fun and involves reading Flash Comics and other comics from the world of DC, The Brave and the Bold, and I’m really interested in the early history and some of my favourite stuff is Silver Age. Even the Golden Age and the Jay Garrick stuff, the original Flash. It’s just so fascinating, so endlessly compelling. It’s such an incredible set-up for exploration, all these fascinating concepts in physics, in mysticism, in fantasy… he can go anywhere. He’s that figure of the DC pantheon who transcends the realms, sort of like Hermes or Mercury before him in the respective Greek and Roman mythologies that the character’s (creator) Gardner Fox clearly based him on.”
‘The Flash’ is now set for a 2018 release and will also star Billy Crudup as Henry Allen, the father of the titular superhero character.
Ezra will next be seen as the character in ‘Justice League’, which hits cinemas in November 2017.

An American Werewolf In London remake coming

OHMYGOSSIP — Universal Pictures is remaking ‘An American Werewolf In London’.
The studio that invented the ‘creature feature’ is rebooting its monsters movies starting with ‘The Mummy’ – starring Tom Cruise and Russell Crowe – and next in line is the iconic 1981 horror movie.
The original film was written and directed by John Landis and Universal want his son Max Landis to pen the script and helm the project with The Walking Dead’s David Alpert and Robert Kirkman producing under Skybound Entertainment as well as Todd Garner and Matt Smith.
John, 66, has signed over the rights but will act as executive producer on the project and Max is currently in the final stages of negotiating his deal.
The original movie follows American backpackers David Kessler and Jack Goodman – played by David Naughton and Griffin Dunne respectively – who are attacked by a werewolf whilst hiking on the English moors. Jack is killed but David is saved by the locals who know of the beast’s existence but his fate is even worse as he is cursed to become a lycanthrope and goes on a killing spree in the UK capital.
It is considered a classic of the horror genre with its mix of scares and very dark humour and special effects artist Rick Baker used a number of revolutionary techniques such as robotic parts to create David’s transformation sequences earning him the Academy Award for Best Makeup and Hairstyling in 1982.
Rick’s work is still referenced during the Horror Makeup Show which runs daily at the Universal Studios theme park in Orlando, Florida.
A sequel, ‘An American Werewolf In Paris’, was released in 1997 without John’s involvement and without the backing of Universal Studios and was widely derided.

Coronation Street bosses re-create Barlow-Baldwin rivalry

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Coronation Street’ bosses are re-creating Ken Barlow’s rivalry with Mike Baldwin with the re-introduction of his grandson and long-lost son.
Sam Robertson is to reprise his role as Ken’s (Bill Roache) grandson Adam Barlow on November 16 when he rocks up on the famous cobbles in a red Jaguar wearing a camel coat and puffing on a cigar – a nod to his late dad Mike, who was played by Johnny Briggs.
Adam looks set to clash with Ken’s son Daniel – who he had with Denise Osbourne (Denise Black), who was last seen in Weatherfield nine years ago – played by ‘Corrie’ newcomer Rob Mallard.
Producer Kate Oates said: “I love the idea of a mini Mike, with his own kind of swagger, and a mini Ken, with his own baggage and view of life. It’s a nice dynamic.
“The tradition of ‘Corrie’ is Ken versus Mike, and now we have new, fresh versions of those personalities.”
Sam departed the role of Adam in 2007 when his character moved to Canada, and the star admits he has “unfinished business” with his alter-ego.
The ‘Beaver Falls’ actor said: “I’m delighted to be back, ‘Coronation Street’ was my first job as an actor and is a special place for me.
“As a young actor it was a little overwhelming so I’m looking forward to coming back and stamping my mark on the character, I feel there’s unfinished business with Adam.”
Daniel will also appear on our screens on November 16 when he turns up at Ken’s hospital bedside reading him ‘King Lear’, much to the shock of the rest of the Barlow clan.
Rob added: “It feels great to be starting work on ‘Coronation Street’ and I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone.
“I grew up watching ‘Coronation Street’, so the chance to be in it, especially playing a part like Daniel, is very exciting.”
Adam and Daniel’s appearance will come just weeks after Ken’s son Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) returned to the cobbles only to have a blazing row with the his dad, who then suffered a stroke.
Kate added: “When Peter turned up first in October his arrival immediately had consequences for the family when Ken suffered his stroke. He is followed this week by Adam and Daniel.
“I am delighted to have Sam back, his time away from Weatherfield has hardened Adam and although he is a Barlow the Baldwin genes are evident from the moment he arrives.
“Daniel is a different Barlow altogether, more sensitive and bookish, he is clearly a chip off the old block, but there is more to Ken’s youngest son than meets the eye. Rob is a talented young actor who is perfect for the role.”
Mike and Ken famously clashed on the cobbles on several occasions over 20 years, beginning in 1983 when Ken found out his wife Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) was having an affair with Mike.
Other storylines prompting the pair to be at war with each other included Mike marrying Ken’s daughter Susan (Katie Heannau), who was Adam’s mother.
She was killed in a car crash while attempting to flee from Mike after he found out about Adam and demanded custody.
Johnny once suggested Ken was jealous of Mike being rich and successful, but Bill has insisted the reason for the detest was because Mike was self-centred.

I'm A Celeb's Carol Vorderman a fun 'menopausal Mama'

OHMYGOSSIP — Carol Vorderman is having “the time of her life” as a “menopausal Mama.”
The 55-year-old TV favourite – who has signed up for the latest series of ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ – says going through the menopause gave her a “sense of adventure”.
The former ‘Countdown’ star – who has children Katie, 25, and Cameron, 19 with her husband Patrick King – said: “Now I am a menopausal Mama, I am having the time of my life. I am doing a lot more adventurous stuff and it’s the sense of adventure that I love about this show.
“It’s a very free time in my life.”
Carol was reportedly offered an eye-watering six-figure sum to take part in the jungle show but she’s also a huge fan and isn’t worried what people think of her going on the reality series.
She continued: “I know people will ask ‘why does Carol need to do this?’
“But I have never paid attention to what others think. I make my own decisions. I like the show and want to do it. I have been watching the show for years and have laughed so much. It is so funny.”
The star will be joined by ‘Gogglebox’ star Scarlett Moffatt, ex ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ pro Ola Jordan, England footballer Wayne Bridge, model Lisa Snowdon, Olympic gold medallist Sam Quek and comedian Joel Dommett as well as Diversity’s Jordan Banjo and actors Larry Lamb and Adam Thomas.
And Carol sees her role in the group as the camp’s agony aunt.
She added: “I will be Aunty Carol. I won’t be the cook or leader, I am a good team player and I will do any job asked of me. I will be 56 in December and there is life in the old bird yet.”
Ant and Dec will return to host ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’ when it kicks off on Sunday (13.11.16) on ITV.

Margot Robbie to adapt Beautiful Things

OHMYGOSSIP — Margot Robbie will produce and star in ‘Beautiful Things’.
The ‘Suicide Squad’ actress’ production company LuckyChap Entertainment have agreed to adapt the novel by Gin Phillips for Warner Bros and Robbie will take on the lead role of Joan, according to the Hollywood reporter.
The book is due for release in May 2017 and a summary on Phillips’ website teases the story of Joan and her four-year-old son, who are trapped in a zoo with a gunman on the loose.
Di Novi Pictures’ Denise Di Novi and Alison Greenspan will co-produce and a director and screenwriter are yet to be found.
Meanwhile, Robbie will start filming ‘I, Tonya,’ next year and is also set to produce and play the lead role in biopic.
And last month it was reported the 26-year-old actress is in the final stages of talks to star in Sony’s live-action and computer generated hybrid production ‘Peter Rabbit’.
The adaptation of the children’s tale penned by Beatrix Potter already boasts James Corden, Rose Byrne, Daisy Ridley, Domhnall Gleeson, and Elizabeth Debicki.
The film is scheduled for release in April 2018 and coincides with the 150th anniversary of the birth of author-and-illustrator Potter – who died in 1943 at the age of 77.

Dan Stevens to play Charles Dickens

OHMYGOSSIP — Dan Stevens will star as Charles Dickens in a new movie.
The former ‘Downton Abbey’ actor has landed the role of a young Dickens in ‘The Man Who Invented Christmas’, a film based on the book by Les Standiford which tells the story of how the famous author created ‘A Christmas Carol’.
According to Deadline, Christopher Plummer will appear as Scrooge and Jonathan Pryce will portray Dickens’ father.
The story begins in 1843 when Dickens had seen his first three books flop so he decided to self-publish a tome in the hope he could make money for his family – and he came up with the now-world famous ‘A Christmas Carol’.
Bharat Nalluri will direct the movie, the US rights of which have been acquired by film distribution company Bleecker Street.
Karpen, Bleecker Street’s CEO, said: “‘The Man Who Invented Christmas’ is an emotionally rich story of Dickens’ creative process and illustrates his love of the holiday spirit.
“We look forward to bringing Bharat’s film to audiences for the 2017 holiday season.”
Paula Mazur, Mitchell Kaplan, Andrew Karpen and Vadim Jean will executive produce the movie, while Robert Mickelson and Ian Sharples will produce the motion picture.
Filming will begin in December ahead of an expected 2017 release.
As well as ‘A Christmas Carol’, Dickens – who died in 1870 – was behind some of the world’s best-known pieces of fiction, including ‘Oliver Twist’, ‘Great Expectations’ and ‘David Copperfield’.
Stevens is to appear as The Beast in Disney’s forthcoming musical movie ‘Beauty and the Beast’ in March alongside Emma Watson, who plays Belle.
Earlier this year, he signed up to star in romantic comedy film ‘Permission’ alongside Rebecca Hall and the movie is now in post-production.
