Billie Faiers thrilled to be expecting baby boy

OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Faiers “can’t stop smiling” after finding out she’s expecting a baby boy.
The ‘Only Way Is Essex’ star and her fiancé Greg Shepherd – who already have two-year-old Nelly together – were stunned to learn their unborn baby is a son and couldn’t be happier.
She said: “We’re so excited. We’re in complete shock. Greg and I always thought we’d just have girls and everyone around us put that in our heads too.
“We couldn’t stop laughing during the scan. I said to the sonographer, ‘No! Are you sure? Can you check again?’ She checked a few times so it’s definitely a boy. We can’t stop smiling. Greg is so excited because every man would like a boy. Greg got quite emotional but he’s over the moon.
“Having all sisters and all girl cousins, he’s the only one in his family that could carry on his family name. His dad was really excited too.”
Billie and Greg like “traditional” names but she insists she won’t be following in the footsteps of her sister Sam Faiers – who has nine-month-old son Paul Jr. with her partner Paul Knightley – and naming the youngster after his dad.
She said: “We want to see him first [before choosing a name] but we love traditional names like Edward and George.
“I definitely won’t be naming him ‘baby Greg’ like Sam’s baby Paul. We might make the middle name Gregory but it won’t be a first name.”
The 26-year-old star reluctantly thinks she is going to have to hire a nanny to help her with the new baby as it will be “impossible” to juggle two kids and her work and her mother isn’t free to help out very much.
She told OK! magazine: “It’s going to be so much more of a challenge – I can just about manage with Nelly now without a nanny or childcare, so I’ll need an extra pair of hands.
“I don’t want a nanny, I’d rather have my mum’s help but she works full time at Minnie’s. We need to think about some extra help otherwise it will be impossible. Greg’s mum works and lives in Surrey.”

Stephanie Davis discharged from hospital

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephanie Davis has been discharged from hospital.
The 23-year-old actress was rushed to accident and emergency last Wednesday (02.11.16) after she was struck down with a mystery illness and, although she’s still “on the mend”, she’s now back in the comfort of her home recuperating.
Taking to her Instagram account on Monday (07.11.16), she wrote: “Hi everyone just wanted to let you all know I’m finally home and on the mend. Thank you so much for all your lovely messages and continued support over the last week. It really means a lot. Love always Stephanie and Bump xxx (sic)”
The former ‘Hollyoaks’ star – who is an avid user of social media – is heavily pregnant with her first child – a baby boy – and sparked fears she’d gone into labour after her presence on Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram came to a halt last week.
A spokesperson for the star said: “We can confirm Stephanie has been in hospital since Wednesday 2nd November due to an illness and is currently undergoing further tests.
“Stephanie has been subject to a number of rumours online the last few days regarding her pregnancy. We would like to confirm Stephanie has not given birth and her baby is doing well.”
She’s due to give birth to her little boy, whom she has with her ex-boyfriend Jeremy McConnell, early next year but she’s convinced he’ll arrive before Christmas because he’s so “big.”
She said recently: “My friend saw a psychic the other day and they told her I wouldn’t make my due date. I would be made up with a Christmas baby! It would be like the best present ever.”
This wasn’t the first time the former ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ star was admitted to hospital during her pregnancy as she was rushed in for excruciating pain in her stomach, which doctors initially feared was early labour, during her second trimester.
She said at the time: “I ended up going to hospital. My mum was going to call an ambulance. They checked me out and they actually thought I was in early labour because I was having what they thought was early contractions. I was on the gas and air. Gas and air was really weird, I didn’t know what was going on.”

Lip Sync Battle UK gets second series

OHMYGOSSIP — Professor Green has confirmed he will return for a second series of ‘Lip Sync Battle UK’.
The ‘Read All About It’ hitmaker – whose real name is Stephen Marsden – will be joined by Melanie Brown, better known as Mel B, for series two of the Channel 5 show and he is thrilled to be working alongside the 41-year-old former Spice Girl again.
He said: “[I’m] Very excited to be working with Mel again, and I’ve promised her I’ll have been to bed before we do our press day this time. It isn’t work with Mel, nor is it with the team behind the scenes – it’s a genuine giggle with a good bunch – I’m excited about what season two of ‘Lip Sync Battle UK’ has to offer!”
The 32-year-old rapper recalled the final episode of the first series when comedian Johnny Vegas dressed up as an angel for a rendition of The Weeknd’s ‘Can’t Feel My Face’ and said he would love to see US presidential candidate Donald Trump channel Lil Wayne.
He added: “I’ve had the image of Johnny Vegas suspended from the ceiling dressed as an angel in my head for the last year. That sort of thing does something to your psyche. This year I’d love to see Donald Trump doing Lil Wayne “Misunderstood.”
‘Viva Forever’ hitmaker Mel can’t wait to see who will have her in “stitches” next year.
She said: “I’m looking forward to being back in the UK for the second series of ‘Lip Sync Battle UK’. We had so much fun filming the last series; some of the performances still have me in stitches. Who will take to the stage this time around? I can’t wait to see!”
Previous celebrity contestants have included David Walliams, Alesha Dixon, Carol Vorderman and Michelle Keegan.
Series two will be coming to Channel 5 in January 2017 and there will be a Christmas special, which will air in December.

The Grand Tour to finish filming in Dubai

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Grand Tour’ will finish filming in Dubai.
The Amazon Prime show, hosted by former ‘Top Gear’ presenters Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond, will wrap shooting in the United Arab Emirates city in December with their mobile studio, a giant tent containing a studio audience, placed at the bottom of The Burj Khalifa.
Jay Marine, vice president of Amazon Video Europe, said: “After an epic whirlwind trip around the globe, Dubai will be the final chance for fans to come and join Jeremy, Richard and James for the final studio recording of the first ever series of ‘The Grand Tour’.
“Demand for tickets has been incredible, so don’t miss out and apply today to join the guys in Dubai for the ultimate adventure and an experience to remember.”
Jeremy, James and Richard have visited numerous locations throughout their worldwide jaunt, including Lapland, Nashville, Rotterdam, California, Johannesburg and Whitby.
But filming has not always gone to plan with James – who, along with Richard, quit ‘Top Gear’ after Jeremy was axed following a fracas with a producer – breaking his arm at one stage.
Producer Andy Wilman recently explained: “James fell over the night before filming, coming out of a pub.
“He rang me up and said, ‘I’ve broken my arm.’ His car was automatic so we stuck him on Eurostar, pumped him full of drugs and left him to it.
“[James] did more damage to it because he had to keep on going but he’s falling to bits anyway. We are not in Usain Bolt territory with that body.”
The TV presenter also nearly died when he thought he was going to drown in Venice, Italy.
He said: “I thought I would drown. I couldn’t get out of the slippery thing.
“I had completely run out of strength.”
What’s more, it was recently revealed the new show will face legal action if it bears any similarities to ‘Top Gear’.
Andy said: “They got funnier and funnier. We went to Namibia to make a big film. The lawyers got out a film we had done [for ‘Top Gear’] in Botswana. The lawyers go through everything and they said, ‘There’s a scene in [‘Top Gear’] where you’re in the middle of the Okavango and you go, “This scenery is beautiful”, so watch that you don’t do that.’
“So we were in the desert in Namibia and we had to go, ‘For legal reasons, this scenery is s**t.’ ”
‘The Grand Tour’ will launch on November 18, 2016, and episodes will be released weekly for 12 weeks.

Scarlett Moffatt to leave Gogglebox

OHMYGOSSIP — Scarlett Moffatt has quit ‘Gogglebox’.
The 25-year-old star will not feature in the remainder of the show’s current series after signing up to Australian jungle-based programme ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’, and it’s not known whether or not she will return.
A Channel 4 spokesperson told RadioTimes.com: “Scarlett Moffatt is going in to ‘I’m a Celebrity’ and will no longer participate in this series of ‘Gogglebox’.
“The show’s producers have not had any conversations with Scarlett about leaving or returning to ‘Gogglebox’ after her stint in the Jungle.”
With Scarlett out of the country she is unable to continue on the show, but it’s not known if her family will also sit out the rest of the series.
The spokesperson added: “The Moffatts have been excellent contributors to ‘Gogglebox’, and we are very grateful for all they have given to the show.”
It’s not the first time ‘Gogglebox’ stars have worked on other projects before returning to the show, meaning the Moffatts could also be back at a later date.
The Gilbey family were away from the show for three series after George Gilbey appeared on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’, and the Michaels family didn’t appear on one series after patriarch Andrew ran as an MP for UKIP in 2015.
Scarlett will be joined Down Under by the likes of former ‘EastEnders’ actor Larry Lamb, ex-‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional dancer Ola Jordan and mathematician Carol Vorderman.
Emmerdale’s Adam Thomas, ‘Homes Under the Hammer’ presenter Martin Roberts, radio presenter Danny Baker and hockey star Sam Quek are among the other stars who will compete to be crowned king or queen of the jungle.

Binky Felstead's 'terrible' body anxiety

OHMYGOSSIP — Binky Felstead had “terrible anxiety” about her body.
The ‘Made In Chelsea’ star insists she will never “be 100 per cent confident” with her figure but enjoyed getting back to a regular work out routine and taking part in No 1 Boot Camp in Ibiza.
She said: “I won’t ever be 100 per cent confident with my body but I am OK at the moment.
“I would like to tone up a lot more. I didn’t exercise for a month at the start of the year, but as soon as I went back to the gym, waking up and working out instead of being hungover and eating rubbish, I felt amazing.”
And the 26-year-old beauty was thrilled to take part in the weight loss regime, which helped her slim down from a size 10-12 to a size 8.
Binky was at the retreat for five days for a body detox and admits the 6.30am starts needed “some getting used to” but were worth it.
She added: “It was great to detox and really knuckle down with the amazing No 1 Boot Camp trainers.
“It is super-strict but that is what I need. Getting 6.30am does take some getting used to, but it is worth when you see your body the end of the week.”
During the week, Binky started her day with 45 minutes of cardio before she had her breakfast. By 10.30am, she had done her first circuit of the day, which was followed by her second class and then a post-lunch hike.
Before dinner, Binky cooled down with a series of strength and conditioning stretches or opted for some yoga on the beach before heading to bed at 9.00pm.
It is Binky’s third time at No 1 Boot Camp and she also enjoys using the facilities at their retreat on the north Norfolk coast.

Megan McKenna shocked by Pete Wicks' hand tattoo

OHMYGOSSIP — Megan McKenna “can’t believe” Pete Wicks got her initials tattooed on his hand.
The ‘Only Way Is Essex’ star was shocked to find out her on/off boyfriend had decided to make the romantic gesture to prove his love for her.
Speaking on Sunday night’s (06.11.16) episode of the ITVBe show, she said: “I had no idea that he would get my initial tattooed on my hand. I love that, I can’t believe it – that’s the sweetest thing anyone’s ever done.
“I’ve got him a memory book for his birthday to remember what a good girlfriend I am. It’s not a Rolex but he doesn’t deserve that just yet!”
However, Pete wasn’t expecting any gifts from Megan.
He told his friends: “We’re not actually together so I don’t think she’s bought me any presents.”
Meanwhile, the 28-year-old television personality previously revealed he was hoping to keep the tattoo between him and Megan.
He said: “The tattoo was meant to be a bit of a surprise for Megan, she knows about it but I wasn’t going to make it a big public thing because it was supposed to be just between me and her so she knows I’m committed, I guess that cat’s at the bag now.”
And the couple are trying to “take things really slowly” in the hope they can work things out.
Pete said: “It’s down to me and Megan what happens, and everyone has said that, so everyone is going to have opinions on things … We are taking things really slowly and it’s nice because it’s nice to see her smiling again.”
Whilst Megan added: “We’re getting back on track in our own way, and people need to kind of let us do that in our own way, even if it’s not the right way, or a weird way to them, it’s the way I’m dealing with it so.”

John Nettles: I'm 'deeply jealous' of Aidan Turner

OHMYGOSSIP — John Nettles is “deeply, deeply jealous” of Aidan Turner.
The 73-year-old actor quipped he is envious of his ‘Poldark’ co-stars Aidan and Eleanor Tomlinson, who play Ross and Demelza Poldark respectively, for looking so “beautiful”.
He said: “I polished my pecs dutifully in preparation for the show, they weren’t needed. I’m deeply, deeply jealous of Aidan, but he’s as lovely off camera as he is on camera. He wears it well, he bloody well does.
“And Demelza [Eleanor Tomlinson] is gobsmackingly beautiful. I don’t like playing scenes with people like that, the audience isn’t going to look at me at all.”
And the ‘Midsomer Murders’ star is rooting for Aidan to become the next James Bond.
Speaking about the rumours, he added to The Telegraph newspaper: “I would think he stands a good chance, a very good chance.
“I hope he does because he has style and grace in his acting and I think the Bond franchise needs that in spades. We’ve had the violence. We’ve had all these amazing fight sequences, now we need a bit of class.”
Meanwhile, Aidan previously insisted he isn’t worried about being objectified on the BBC One show.
He explained: “I don’t feel objectified, it’s funny! It’s just a couple of people admiring your body. It’s like doing any other scene. It’s the same as me galloping on a horse on a beach.
“I have always felt these semi-naked scenes, or ‘Ross with his top off’, work. If he is down the mine, he is hammering away so it wouldn’t make sense with a shirt on. It would look odd. In those days as well! The reaction is out of my hands. It’s hilarious, is what it is. It’s hard for me because it makes sense for the story so after that my job is done.”

Vaults record One Day I'll Fly Away for John Lewis Christmas advert

OHMYGOSSIP — Vaults have recorded the song for this year’s John Lewis Christmas advert.
The British electronic group have put their own spin on Randy Crawford’s 1980 jazz hit ‘One Day I’ll Fly Away’ for the department store’s 2016 festive campaign, according to music industry mail-out Record of the Day who broke the news on Monday morning (07.11.16).
The hotly-anticipated commercial is due to hit TV screens later this month as anticipation for the Yule Tide celebration builds.
Vaults – like many previous artists to work with John Lewis – are not well known to the mainstream music-buying public and are yet to release a full album since being signed to Virgin EMI in 2014 only dropping two EPs.
Last year, their song ‘One Last Night’ was included on the soundtrack for erotic thriller ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’
The trio – Blythe Pepino, Barney Freeman and Ben Vella – will be hoping the campaign gives their career a huge boost like it did for previous artists such as Ellie Goulding, Gabrielle Aplin, Lily Allen, Tom Odell and Aurora who covered Oasis’ ‘Half The World Away’ for last year’s advert which was made in conjunction with charity Age UK.
‘One Day I’ll Fly Away’ was a number two hit in the UK when Randy originally released it and it has been covered by a host of people including Nicole Kidman for the film ‘Moulin Rouge’, Girls Aloud star Kimberley Walsh and Sarah Brightman.
Vaults’ debut album was postponed after band member Ben was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2015, but he has now been given the all-clear from the illness.

Andrea McLean worried for mental health following hysterectomy

OHMYGOSSIP — Andrea McLean was worried about “mentally falling off a cliff” when she had a hysterectomy.
The ‘Loose Women’ panellist made a return to the show on Monday (07.11.16) following her hysterectomy and admits she was worried how the procedure would affect her mental health.
She said: “I’m so happy to be back with the girls – it’s my first show in six weeks, I’m so hormonal, I could cry.
“It’s just coming up to six weeks since I had the hysterectomy – my biggest fear was mentally falling off a cliff. I was really worried about how it would affect me. Apart from the odd moment of being irrational I’ve been alright.”
And the 47-year-old is glad her loved ones were not there to see her straight after she came out of the operation as she thinks it would be “difficult for them to see” her shaking and convulsing.
Describing what happened after the operation, she added: “I came around and I was shaking and convulsing – I was very cold. I felt very sick. I was glad [my family] weren’t there because it would have difficult for them to see.”
Having the operation was a tough decision for Andrea but she had the full support of her partner Nick Feeney.
Speaking on ITV’s Loose Women, she shared: “It’s realising you’ll never have children together. His eyes filled up and he was like, ‘Babe, where did this come from?’ We had a moment and it was all good.”
Meanwhile, Andrea previously opened up about how supportive Nick was when she made the tough decision to undergo the medical procedure.
She said: “I’m really, really happy in a relationship with a lovely man so it was obviously a big decision. Nick and I have children of our own and we hadn’t talked about having children together before.
“I knew I would be an older mum but that we could still maybe have children if we wanted to. But I was also in constant pain and couldn’t carry on any longer. Nick was brilliant, he just said, ‘If you’re OK, I’m OK, that’s all that counts.’ We made the decision, had a big hug and counted our blessings.”
Andrea also feared she would wreck their relationship by having the operation.
She added: “It was a huge decision and although it was the best thing to do I was scared about it. I lay in bed worrying about falling of a cliff emotionally, becoming very down and depressed with feelings of loss.
“I’m the happiest I’ve ever been, I’m really settled and content, I’ve got a lovely relationship, our kids are in a really good place and I thought what if I spoil all of this? What if I become a hormonal wreck that everyone else has to pick up?”

Deadpool 2 'set for January start'

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Deadpool 2’ is expected to start filming in January.
The sequel to this year’s ‘Deadpool’ movie, which stars Ryan Reynolds in the titular role, is rumoured to begin production in the new year in Canada.
This is according to the ‘Upcoming’ section of movie website What’s Filming, which details which motion pictures are shooting in Vancouver and British Columbia.
However, the film doesn’t currently have a director after Tim Miller pulled out of the sequel.
He is reported to have departed the role because of creative differences with lead star Reynolds, despite the pair enjoying a close working relationship on the first film.
It was reported Miller and Reynolds, who was a producer on ‘Deadpool’, “increasingly butted heads over certain creative issues” on the sequel.
An official title for the follow up movie is yet to have been revealed, nor a release date, but it to be scripted by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who penned the first movie.
David Leitch is said to be in talks to replace Miller as the director of the movie and is thought to be top of the studio’s list of candidates, which also includes Drew Goddard and Magnus Martens.
Producer Simon Kinberg recently said: “I think ‘Deadpool 2’ will comment on anything that’s happening in movies today especially in superhero movies. The sort of glut or saturation of these movies and the proliferation of sequels is definitely something we’ll play around with.”

Jeremy Renner's Arrival tears

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeremy Renner “cried [his] eyes out” when he first saw ‘Arrival’.
The Hollywood actor plays mathematician Ian Donnelly in the sci-fi drama – which is based on Ted Chiang’s short story ‘Story of Your Life’ – and he was amazed how director Denis Villeneuve had managed to bring the script to life, admitting he was delighted to be a part of the project.
He said: “When I saw the movie for the first time, it wasn’t done; the sound wasn’t done, the visual effects weren’t done. You saw the aliens once or twice. It was really kinda rough. But you got a sense of the scope.
“I got up, I went out of the theatre, I burst out, ‘That’s a m***********g director,’ quote-unquote. I never said that.
“I went, ‘Holy f**k!” I ran out, fell in the f**king parking lot and cried my eyes out. I said, ‘I can’t believe I’m a part of this. I cannot believe what that guy did with this beautiful script.’
“He’d made it so damn visual … this guy just exceeded everyone’s expectations.
“We were all so focused on this insular little story called ‘Story Of Your Life’, told through this amazing smart woman’s eyes.”
The motion picture sees Amy Adams play the lead character, linguist Dr. Louise Banks, who is tasked with working out what aliens are saying after several touch down across the world leaving mankind fearing they are on the brink of a war with the extraterrestrials.
While Renner is delighted he landed the role of Donnelly, he thought the part should’ve been offered to Richard Dreyfuss, so much so he told the movie’s bosses to cast the ‘Jaws’ actor.
He added to Den of Geek: “My initial reaction was, I thought Richard Dreyfuss should be in this thing. I said, ‘Don’t cast me, get Richard Dreyfuss in this thing! I mean, he’s perfect. Why me?’
“So I saw [Ian] as Dreyfuss in ‘Jaws’ – that was my initial way in. He was like, ‘I love sharks! I love the f**k out of sharks!’ Whereas most other people are running from them.
“So I used that as an idea – his passion towards something. But also, ‘Let’s give him a sense of humour.’
“Let’s give him … whatever my sense of humour is. Just kind of inject it in there, like, not taking things too seriously. Whatever it is, right?
“That made him a bit more accessible and not some book-y, hyper-intelligent, socially awkward … you know what I mean?”

Emmerdale to air dementia special

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Emmerdale’ will air a special episode to give viewers an insight into living with dementia.
Soap bosses have teamed up with the Alzheimer’s Society and MHA (Methodist Homes) to focus a 30-minute show from the perspective of vicar Ashley Thomas (John Middleton), who is suffering from the mental disorder, to raise awareness of the condition this December.
Iain MacLeod, Emmerdale’s series producer, said: “People living with dementia face challenges most of us can barely imagine. So, I took it as a challenge to help people picture this experience – to put them inside the mind of someone living with this condition.
“With this chapter of Ashley’s story, we set out to give people an insight into how ordinary, day-to-day experiences can become disorientating and distressing when refracted through the lens of dementia.
“Catching a bus, the apparently simple act of buying something in a shop, holding a conversation – all of these become tasks of Herculean scale.
“By telling the episode solely from Ashley’s point of view and seeing things the way he sees them, I hope we’re showing a side of dementia that is seldom represented on television.”
The episode will see Ashley, who was diagnosed with stroke-related early onset vascular dementia last year, leave hospital and make his way onto the streets alone.
While it is not known exactly what will happen to him, it is set to be a tear-jerker involving Ashley and wife Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy).
Iain added: “At its core, though, this has always been a love story between Ashley and his wife Laurel, and this episode is a heart-breaking landmark in the evolution of their relationship.”
Kathryn Smith, director of operations at Alzheimer’s Society, said: “We are incredibly moved that ‘Emmerdale’ will be filming an episode dedicated to showing the audience the world from Ashley’s point of view.
“Storylines like this can help people raise awareness of dementia and help them to understand how dementia can impact a person’s ability to think, communicate, process new information and break down the stigma that is still associated with the disease.”
This comes just weeks after John was involved in the “biggest stunt in soap history” last month when Ashley was in a horrific car crash involving a number of the villagers.
The incident was caused by Emma Barton (Gillian Kearney) who pushed her husband James Barton (Bill Ward) to his death.

Joel Dommett could be 'the perfect match' for Carol Vorderman

OHMYGOSSIP — Joel Dommett “could be a perfect match” for Carol Vorderman on ‘I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here’.
The ‘Skins’ star has joked he could impress the ‘Countdown’ host with his maths work when they both head into the jungle.
A source said: “The show was really lacking in hot single men but Joel is definite eye candy, he could be a perfect match for Carol.”
Whilst Joel added: “I’m single and I don’t know whether I’m ready to mingle. I like maths. I like to show my working out. So hopefully she would appreciate that.”
Diversity’s Jordan Banjo – who triumphed with the dance troupe on Britain’s Got Talent in 2009 – is also set to join the ITV show but is “petrified of snakes, heights and bugs”.
He said: “I’m really excited to be here but I’m very scared of snakes, I’m petrified of them – snakes, heights and bugs.”
Olympic hockey champion Sam Quek has touched down in Australia and is excited to take part in the team activities.
He shared: “You can’t beat this year, the British public have been amazing and they still are. It’s just riding that wave and making sure we can keep hockey in the spotlight. It’s nice to come to Oz and remind everyone we got the gold over there.
“I’m happy to be a team leader and to be in the team, be a bit of both. I’d like to think I’m OK making new friends … I’m going to miss [my boyfriend] obviously but he is coming out to Australia.”
And Dec is excited about getting to meet all the contestants in the flesh.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “When you just see names and faces on a piece of paper it’s really difficult. It’s when you see them in the flesh that’s when you really get a sense of it.
“This time last year none of us knew who Lady C was, and what she was gonna be like, so it’s hard to tell what it’s going to be like this year.”

James May: Top Gear needs 'ruthless' reinvention

OHMYGOSSIP — James May thinks ‘Top Gear’ bosses should have their “a***s kicked” if they can’t make the show a hit again.
The 53-year-old star, one third of the former presenting team alongside Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond, insists it “must be possible” to bring the show back to its previous heights.
When asked if he thinks the BBC and presenter Matt LeBlanc can bring the show back from the dead, he said: “I think they deserve to have their a***s kicked if they don’t, because it must be possible.”
James believes the ‘Top Gear’ team should be more “ruthless” with their reinvention of the show to change it for the better.
He said: “I don’t think it went drastically well. They should reinvent it a little more ruthlessly. There must be another way of making a car show.”
Despite quitting the series alongside Richard after Jeremy was axed following a fracas with a producer, James admits he would watch the programme again.
He added to Event magazine: “I’d like ‘Top Gear’ to do well, because I’d like to be able to watch it.”
Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc took over from Jeremy, James and Richard, but the former quit in July after one series, leaving the ex-‘Friends’ star to go it alone as lead presenter for a new series.
James has re-teamed with Jeremy and Richard for their forthcoming new car show ‘The Grand Tour’, but he recently revealed he nearly died filming the programme.
Speaking about coming close to meeting his maker in Venice, Italy, he said: “I thought I would drown. I couldn’t get out of the slippery thing.
“I had completely run out of strength.”
James didn’t have the best of luck shooting the show as he broke his arm filming out of a pub.
Producer Andy Wilman recently said: “James fell over the night before filming, coming out of a pub.

Nicole Kidman doesn't show films to familyo

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicole Kidman doesn’t show her movies to her family.
The 49-year-old actress – who has daughters Sunday, eight, and Faith, five, with her husband Keith Urban, as well as two adoptive children, Isabella, 23, and Connor, 21, from her previous marriage to Tom Cruise – insists it is “not her style” to boast about her work and force her loved ones sit down and view her films.
Explaining how neither her kids nor her mother have seen her new movie ‘Lion’, despite admitting she views the production as a “love letter” to her brood, she said: “It’s not my style. I like to be just kind of under the radar with my work in terms of my family.”
Nicole plays adoptive mother Sue Brierley in ‘Lion’ – which is based on Saroo Brierley’s book ‘A Long Way Home’ – and though she won’t be making her family watch the film, she thinks it will be “life-affirming” for those who do get a ticket.
She told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “The film is very life-affirming.
“It’s about the goodness in people, ultimately, and I think that’s a beautiful message right now, emphasizing the way we’re all inherently good.”
The Oscar-winning actress also hopes her performance “honours” the person she portrays in the movie, which also stars Dev Patel as her adopted son.
She said: “Sue Brierley is a real woman, so I had to absorb who she was and kind of try to honour her.
“I wanted to really layer it so you felt her heart beat and you felt her spirit.”
The film sees Sue and John Brierley (David Wenham) adopt young Saroo after a period on the streets of Calcutta, and when the youngster grows up, he begins searching for his birth family.
And Nicole thinks one of the main themes of the movie is the “strength of mothers”.
She said: “It’s like any mother will tell you, no matter happens, where you go, how it happens, where it happens, there’s always love waiting for you here.”
