I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here camp at risk from wild dogs

OHMYGOSSIP — The ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here’ camp is at risk from wild dogs.
Carol Vorderman, Ola Jordan and Gogglebox’s Scarlett Moffatt are set to make their descent into the Australian jungle on Sunday November 13 but fears have been raised after locals in Springbrook, Queensland – near where the ITV show is being filmed – have reported injuries to their pets and other livestock from wild dogs and now there are worries they could turn on humans, the Daily Mirror reports.
Springbrook Landcare president Ian Powell told goldcoastbulletin.com: “They are starting to lose their natural fear for humans, it is getting to a point where they will see the children as something they can chase and attack.
“They have killed dogs and even a few alpacas recently and I know some of the owners have raised concerns that most of the animals are coming out of the national park where the State Government does not bait.”
Whilst resident Ray Cavanough added: “The reason we need to go hard with baiting and traps is because we are hearing that they are attacking a lot of pets and the other day they killed a calf while the cow was giving birth.
“We have had a domestic dog attacked while a three-year-old child was behind a fly screen door. It was just lucky he was behind the door, otherwise it could have been a disaster.”
And wild dogs are not the only reason this series of ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here’ has been thrown into doubt after it was revealed a bush fire is only 40 miles away from the clearing the celebrities are set to make their home for three weeks.
However, the New South Wales National Parks and Wildlife Service say they are managing the fire – which is said to be 200 miles wide – and have it under control.

Greg Rutherford's sisterly love for Natalie Lowe

OHMYGOSSIP — Greg Rutherford and his ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ partner Natalie Lowe are like “brother and sister”.
The 29-year-old sportsman – who has two-year-old son Milo with his partner Susie Verrill – isn’t worried about the ‘Strictly curse’ as his relationship with the professional dancer is more like siblings.
He said: “The Strictly curse – if someone is looking for that side of it, it will happen.
“I come from a very happy relationship with a young boy. Me and Nat are like brother and sister in that way.”
The Olympian has managed to get to week eight of the dancing competition but he is modest about his chances of winning the show.
When asked if he believes he could win the dancing competition on ITV’s This Morning, he said: “There are far better dancers in the competition. I’m a long jumper, I’m not a dancer. Both Judge Rinder and I come from a similar background and have no dance experience at all.”
Meanwhile, Greg previously insisted to producers he won’t be flashing the flesh on the BBC One show.
He explained: “Funnily enough, I said to the producers that I didn’t want to be ‘the sports guy who takes his top off’ – you know, there’s one in every series.
“I just wanted people to judge me on my dancing, but reality is kicking in now: if the dancing starts to go badly, I’ll have to go down the shirtless route.”
And Greg admits the long days are “really tough” but he particularly enjoys doing ballroom.
He said: “It’s going really well but it’s really tough. I’m doing 10-hour training days with my partner Natalie Lowe, because I’m hoping that putting in loads of hard work will make up for my innate lack of dancing ability when we take to the dance floor.
“The ballroom positions are lovely and suit my body shape, so that’s looking better. And I’m strong, so if there are any lifts to be done I’ll be straight in there.”

Daisy Lowe was 'heartbroken' to be in Strictly dance-off

OHMYGOSSIP — Daisy Lowe was left “heartbroken” when she was in the dance-off on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ for two consecutive weeks.
The 27-year-old model was left in the bottom two on the BBC ballroom show twice, despite getting high scores from judges Craig Revel Horwood, Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Darcey Bussell.
Daisy escaped the dreaded dance-off last weekend with Laura Whitmore leaving the programme after losing out to Ore Oduba and she admits it was a relief to get through on the public’s vote.
Speaking to Nick Grimshaw on the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show on Wednesday (09.11.16), she said: “I think the first time being in the bottom two made me really upset and I feel like I was heartbroken the whole week and then the second time it happened it made me think, ‘No, I do deserve to still be here and I am going to keep dancing, I really love it and I am really going to try and stay this time.’ ”
Daisy didn’t think she would make it as far as she has on ‘Strictly’ as she is a naturally “clumsy” person and not necessarily cut out for the discipline required to dance ballroom and Latin routines.
She said: “I’m really clumsy, I’m always dropping things and I’m quite dizzy and forgetful. I’m trying my best, you know what I think it’s the most joyful thing you can do with your body is dancing and you know, I love music and it’s very special, I felt like I have learned so much more than what I thought I would’ve learned, it’s not just the dancing, I’m learning to have a bit of self-confidence because I’m quite rubbish at that.”
Despite her previous doubts, Daisy – who has recently split from her model boyfriend Frankie Wade – insists her confidence is growing and she has started to dream about winning the glitterball trophy ahead of her fellow contestants, who include Judge Rinder, Ed Balls and Louise Redknapp.
She spilled: “I would love to win, it would be a dream come true, I know that the competition is high and i know that everyone loves everyone and wants to win the competition but I would love for people to pick up the phone and vote for me.”

Graham Norton puts himself first in relationships

OHMYGOSSIP — Graham Norton always insists he comes first in relationships.
The 53-year-old presenter admits his romances are always “unequal” because he insists a partner rearranges their life and commitments to suit his own diary.
In an interview with Woman magazine, the homosexual star said: “My relationships are always unequal. For starters, my diary will always take precedence over a boyfriend’s.
“If someone’s office Christmas party clashes with a TV recording night, I’m not cancelling that tot go to your stupid office party.
“If I’ve got two months off and he’s a surgeon with life-saving surgery to do, I’d be like, ‘For God’s sake, it’s the only time I can go on holiday.’ You see the problem. All men have a little bit of alpha in them and aren’t wired to be the plus one.”
Graham has been single since splitting from his ex-boyfriend, music marketing consultant Andrew Smith, and has used Tinder to look for dates since the break-up.
The ‘Let It Shine’ host would welcome a relationship if one came along but he doesn’t feel he needs to have a partner just for the sake of being with someone.
He admitted: “I don’t want a boyfriend at all costs. Clearly I could find one but if it would entail being with someone I didn’t love or didn’t even like much, what would be the point. I’ve had great relationships but it’s not something I have to have.
“They require compromise – this is obvious to me because in most couples you like one of them a lot more than the other one, so someone has made a compromise.”
When he isn’t working, Graham’s favourite pastime is drinking and he enjoys alcohol as a way to relax just like most people in the UK.
He said: “I am very open about who I am. I’m a borderline alcoholic. I prefer my life with alcohol and I don’t feel I have to explain that because it’s not like I have a niche interest – alcohol is really popular. I’m not alone! People like drinking and I’m just one of them.”

Johnny Depp's role confirmed for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2

OHMYGOSSIP — Johnny Depp will play Gellert Grindelwald in the sequel to ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’.
The 53-year-old actor is set to star as the dark wizard in the follow-up to the upcoming ‘Harry Potter’ spin-off – which stars Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander – as the movie’s director David Yates dubbed him as “pure talent” and “a real artist”.
Speaking to ‘Harry Potter’ news website The Leaky Cauldron, 52-year-old David said: “The whole principal of casting the movie was go with the best actor. Go for the most inspired, interesting, right fit for that character.
“And as we approached Grindelwald we thought, ‘Who’s going to take this in an interesting direction?’ In this business, it’s a weird old business.
“You’re brilliant one week, people are saying odd things the next, you go up and down. But no one takes away your pure talent.
“Johnny Depp is a real artist. He’s created several characters who have really resonated in our popular culture. He’s a really brilliant, brilliant actor.
“We were excited about seeing what he would do with this guy, the character.”
And although his character is more predominant in the second instalment, The Hollywood Reporter states that Depp is also said to make a fleeting appearance in the first of the new movies, which hits cinema screens later this month.
The news of Depp’s casting comes after it was revealed by J.K Rowling – who wrote the ‘Harry Potter’ book series – last month that the spin-off movie was set to become a five-part saga.
A post on the movie’s official Twitter page read: “@jk_rowling has just confirmed the magic continues in a total of FIVE MOVIES! We can’t wait #FantasticBeasts (sic)”
‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ comes out on November 18.

OHMYGOSSIP — Pico Alexander has been added to the cast of ‘Home Again’, which stars Reese Witherspoon.
The 25-year-old actor has signed up for Hallie Meyers-Shyer’s directorial debut, according to Deadline.com.
Alexander will join Witherspoon in the indie comedy, as well as the previously announced cast of Nat Wolff, Michael Sheen, Candice Bergen, Lake Bell, Reid Scott, and Jon Rudnitsky.

Witherspoon will star in the role of the mother, whilst Alexander rounds out the trio of boys alongside Wolff and Rudnitsky.
Nancy Meyers – the mother of the project’s writer and director – is producing the movie alongside Erika Olde of Black Bicycle Entertainment, who is also providing the financing for the project.

Carol Vorderman up for I'm A Celebrity… challenge

OHMYGOSSIP — Carol Vorderman is “challenging” herself with ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’.
The 55-year-old star is looking forward to the adventure that the Australian jungle gives her, according to her best friend of 12 years Amanda Prowse.
Amanda said: “When she got into university, most girls didn’t go to university. She’s always worked in a male-dominated environment of engineering and maths, and had to push herself. She is hard as nails …
“Flying has given her so much confidence. The fact she has conquered it has made her think, ‘I can do anything.’ Going into the jungle is in the same vein, it’s adventurous and it’s challenging herself to do something that gets your heart racing. She has always loved the show and the time is right. Her diary has always been chock-full before and now it’s a case of, ‘Why not?'”
Now Carol’s children – Cameron, 19, and Katie, 25 – are older, she has the “freedom to follow her heart” and is “flying the flag” for women over 50 everywhere.
Amanda added: “For the first time in her life, her children are older and her time’s more her own and that’s given her the freedom to follow her heart. I’ve never known anyone work as hard as Carol has. She’s such a professional and goes crazy working on the detail of whatever she’s involved in.
“She’s flying the flag for women over 50. If she’s not dancing on tables in the early hours then she’s out hiking around the world. I’ve got so much admiration for her. She’s certainly not going to put her slippers on and start knitting.”
And Amanda has assured fans that Carol will take on everything she is given on the ITV show as she is “very tough”.
She added to The Sun newspaper: “Carol is so stunningly beautiful and very sexy. I think everyone finds her attractive but mainly because she’s a nice person.
“She’s the full package, she’s warm, funny, kind and her best quality is she finds joy in other people’s good fortune. She’s going to do brilliantly because she’s also very tough.”
‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’ begins on Sunday November 13 on ITV.

Kym Marsh: The Coronation Street cast are on a health kick

OHMYGOSSIP — The ‘Coronation Street’ cast are more “health conscious”.
Kym Marsh – who plays Michelle Connor in the ITV soap – has revealed some of the cast members including Katie McGlynn (Sinead Tinker) are on a bit of a health kick and the canteen on set has opted to add a selection of healthy options to the menu.
Writing in her OK! magazine column, Kym shared: “Katie McGlynn is looking fabulous, although I think she’s been looking great for a while now!
“A lot of the cast of Corrie – well, mainly the girls – are on a bit of a health kick and want to feel fit. You’ll often see people walking around in the gym kit having just been or heading to an exercise session.
“The canteen at work is really good now, too, with lots of healthy options available, like a salad bar. In fact, they even have a NutriBullet counter where you can get a green juice made up. I think they know that many of us have become more health conscious recently.”
And Katie has also been getting work out tips from her ‘Coronation Street’ co-star Catherine Tyldesley, who stars as Eva Price in the soap, and has shed a stone.
A source said previously: “Katie was really unsure about how to train and what foods to eat. Cath has really sorted her out with some sound advice coupled with some evil work outs. It has taken a while but she has lost a stone and looks super-fit now.
“Kate is really pleased with the results but she loves her nights with food and drink so she still makes sure she has a blow-out now and again.”

Sean Astin joins the cast of Stranger Things

OHMYGOSSIP — Sean Astin has joined the cast of ‘Stranger Things’.
The ‘Goonies’ star has signed up to season two of the Netflix series alongside ‘Mad About You’s Paul Reiser and rising star Linnea Berthelsen.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Sean Astin is set to play Bob Newby, who is “a kindhearted former nerd who went to high school with Joyce (Winona Ryder) and Hopper (David Harbour) and now manages the local Hawkins RadioShack.”
Whilst Paul is “a high-ranking member within the Department of Energy on a ‘clean-up’ assignment, tasked with containing the events of last year” called Dr. Owens.
Linnea will play Roman, “an emotionally damaged, magnetic young woman who suffered a great loss as a child.” And whilst she does not live in Hawkins itself, she is linked to the strange goings-ons at the town’s laboratory.
Meanwhile, Winona is likely to take Linnea under her wing as she previously admitted she feels like a mother to her ‘Stranger Things’ co-stars.
She said: “Honestly, I felt like Noah [Scnapp] and Charlie [Heaton] were my kids. It was a bit alarming – it happened in an instant, almost like when my niece and nephew were born.
“It was like for the first time in my life I understood how you would jump in front of a bus for this little baby that you don’t even know yet. I did feel Charlie helped me a great deal with the emotion. He’s a tremendous actor. I also really bonded with Millie Bobby Brown, who plays Eleven. It was great.
“These kids are so incredible and special and talented, and they all love doing what they do. The only thing I could sort of say to them is that getting to do the work is the reward, that life is short and you have to enjoy what you do – and we really, truly did.
“The attention and love we’re getting right now is so great, and I want everybody to savour it, but also to remember that it’s about the work itself. But really, I would feel presumptuous giving them any advice, because they’re already so amazing. I need advice from them actually.”

I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here trials revealed

OHMYGOSSIP — This year’s ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’ contestants are set to face the most terrifying Bushtucker trials to date.
The celebrities – which includes Carol Vorderman, Lisa Snowdon and former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star Ola Jordan – will face a plethora of daring stunts during their time in the Australian jungle as aerial shots of the ‘I’m A Celebrity…’ camp reveal.
And those who are scared of heights will certainly have something to worry about as the pictures reveal a huge metal structure in a jungle clearing, which it is thought will be used for the celebrities to scale up the side before bungee jumping off the top. There is also a tree top zip wire across a deep ravine, complete with a small plank where a celebrity could find themselves on with only a few inches to move about.
Elsewhere, there is a huge pool with a number of cages inside, where celebrities are likely to find themselves locked in with some of the jungle’s scariest critters including snakes.
New for this year is a Roman amphitheatre, which may become the site of a new gruesome task. The pictures, obtained by The Sun Online, also show a series of eerie looking derelict caravans where celebrities may be tasked to spend the night alongside the infamous jungle critters.
Meanwhile, for this year’s eating challenges, the brave campmates are expected to presented with a whole host of vile foods including a crocodile’s vagina.
A source said recently: “In the past, celebrities have had mealworms, witchetty grubs, fermented eggs and fish eyes to eat. They’re a picnic compared to this delicacy. A crocodile’s vagina is something else. Ant and Dec will giggle about it but they don’t have to eat it.”

Joe Manganiello: Batman film will surprise people

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe Manganiello has teased the upcoming Batman movie is going to “surprise” people.
The 39-year-old ‘Magic Mike’ actor will play supervillain Deathstroke in the upcoming standalone Dark Knight blockbuster, tentatively titled ‘The Batman’, which will star Ben Affleck as The Caped Crusader and is also being written and directed by the Oscar winner.
Before accepting the part of the DC Comics menace, Manganiello met with Affleck to discuss his vision for the film and was impressed with his plans for a “fresh take” on the Gotham City saviour.
Speaking on Mark Madden’s Pittsburgh sports podcast, he revealed: “When I met Ben we sat down and we talked about, you know, the role. We talked about the movie. His take is a fresh take but I think the audience is going to be surprised. Because it’s a road that no one’s really gone down that’s completely integral to who Batman is. And I think it’s gonna be refreshing but at the same time completely familiar. But it’s going to take this franchise in a direction that I think a lot of people are going to be really happy about.”
Manganiello – who has appeared in a Marvel comic book movie before, playing Flash Thompson in ‘Spider-Man’ – also teased that the blockbuster has a “gritty” plot which has already been fully fleshed out by Affleck, who has already donned the cape and cowl for ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ and had a cameo in ‘Suicide Squad’.
He said: “It’s going to be gritty and action packed and cerebral and all of those elements that people love about Batman. I told him in the room man, when I met him, ‘I should be so lucky, I’d be in great hands to work with you, I love your movies, let’s do this.’ ”
‘The Batman’ – the latest confirmed project in the DC Extended Universe from Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Entertainment – is expected to be released in 2018.
Affleck will next be seen as Batman in ensemble superhero movie ‘Justice League’ in which he stars with Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash and Ray Fisher as Cyborg.

Ezra Miller movies attract 'die-hard devotion'

OHMYGOSSIP — Ezra Miller thinks ‘Justice League’ and ‘Harry Potter’ fans are very similar.
The 24-year-old actor plays The Flash in the DC Comics series and Credence in J.K. Rowling’s wizarding spin-off ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ and thinks the “die-hard devotion” both sagas inspire is good for the world as it gives huge groups of people shared cultural references.
Asked about similarities between the franchises’ fans, he said: “I think there’s a die hard level of devotion in both places and both of these stories are y’know, sort of modern mythologies that people really do use as a source of information and inspiration in the way they live their lives.
“It becomes a huge part of people’s realities and I think it benefits people to have fantasy and stories like that, I think it’s really good for us individually and collectively as a culture to have these stories we can all refer to.
“Like, you can be like ‘You’re really Umbridging me right now’ and someone would be like ‘Woah that’s horrible, I’m so sorry.’
“We have a mutually-understood vernacular based on these stories we all know.”
And Ezra also joked about the comforting feeling of the costume he dons to play Barry ‘The Flash’ Allen.
Speaking to ET Canada, he quipped: “Once you find tights, there’s really no going back.
“Your legs are just swaddled like wee babes in blankets.”
Ezra will next be seen as The Flash in ‘Justice League’ – which is released in November 2017 – and promised fans will enjoy seeing the relationship between his character and Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne/Batman.
He told IGN: “I think it’s the relationship between someone who is naive and excited and someone who is experienced and jaded.
“And it’s that seeing each other as reflections of one another and being amused, and maybe sometimes annoyed, by one another.
“I think Bruce and Barry get a kick out of each other because they’re seeing themselves but reflected in this very warped mirror, you know? Bruce, the aged Batman, is everything that being a superhero means you could become, in terms of being, like, pretty shut down and having seen all this horror. He’s like a veteran of this struggle against evil.
“And Barry is just getting into it, and it seems exciting! And very fun! And so, I think they have a lot to learn from each other, like in any great friendship.
“I think it’s a fascinating relationship.”

Larry Lamb's I'm A Celebrity approval

OHMYGOSSIP — Larry Lamb’s family all had to agree to let him appear on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ because of his previous battle with malaria.
The 69-year-old actor contracted the potentially life-threatening disease from a mosquito bite he received during a trip to Senegal six years ago, and has now revealed that he had to win the approval of his children – Vanessa, 47, George, 36, Eloise, 17, and Eva-Mathilde, 13 – and his partner Clare Burt before he was allowed to head into the jungle.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, the former ‘EastEnders’ star said: “It’s a family business. Everybody had to agree it was OK for the old boy to do it. We had a meeting.”
And Larry has also revealed that the disease – which left him almost totally deaf in one ear and suffering from chronic joint pain – makes him value his health, as he still has “flare ups”.
He added: “Occasionally I have flare-ups where I don’t feel 100 per cent, but they go away.
“It’s made me wary of going to countries where mosquitoes may be buzzing around.”
The ‘Gavin & Stacey’ star was picked by the ITV show’s bosses due to his link to last year’s controversial contestant Lady Colin Campbell, whom Larry once dated.
An insider said: “Lady C was a big hit and they wanted someone with a connection.
“They were looking at her sons, but when Larry was up for it they were over the moon.”
Also heading off into the jungle alongside Larry will be TV presenter Carol Vorderman, 55, model Lisa Snowdon, 44, footballer Wayne Bridge, 36, ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star Ola Jordan, 34, comedian Joel Dommett , 30, Olympic hockey star Sam Quek, 28, ‘Emmerdale’ actor Adam Thomas, 28, ‘Gogglebox’ star Scarlett Moffatt, 26 and Diversity dancer Jordan Banjo, 23.
‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here’ starts on ITV on Sunday (13.11.16).

Danny Jones for The Voice Kids

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Jones is set to join ‘The Voice Kids’.
The McFly guitarist is reportedly in advanced talks to appear alongside will.i.am on the coaching panel of the new talent show, which will air next spring, and it is thought his experience with the boy band makes him the ideal candidate.
An insider said: “Danny has 13 years of experience touring and making albums with a successful band.
“He is perfect for The Voice – he’s someone the young contestants will really relate to.”
The spin-off show will air on Saturday nights, like ‘The Voice’ – which will begin in January on ITV for the first time after switching from BBC – and will see kids aged seven to 14 compete.
Black Eyed Peas star will – who is also a coach on ‘The Voice’ alongside Sir Tom Jones, Jennifer Hudson and Gavin Rossdale – is able to sign one of the talents from ‘The Voice Kids’ show up at the end of the series.
An insider added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: “He really thinks he can find the next Justin Bieber.”
Danny is no stranger to competing in talent shows having appeared on the first series of ‘Popstar to Operastar’ in back in 2010.
Sadly, he didn’t win the programme, finishing fifth out of eight, while Darius Campbell triumphed ahead of Bernie Nolan, who was second.
If needs be he can also call upon his McFly bandmates for advice as Harry Judd won ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ in 2011, and bassist Dougie Poynter was crowned king of the jungle on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ in the same year.

Mission: Impossible 6 for July 2018 release

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Mission: Impossible 6’ is set for a July 2018 release.
Paramount Pictures have scheduled the release of Tom Cruise’s upcoming action movie for July 27 of that year in the US, which will likely see the motion picture go up against James Wan’s ‘Aquaman’ movie, in which Jason Momoa is to play the titular character.
The UK release dates for the pair are yet to be confirmed but are likely to reflect those in the US.
Each of the five ‘Mission: Impossible’ movies so far has had different directors, but Christopher McQuarrie will become the first filmmaker to helm two as he was also behind last year’s ‘Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation’.
Cruise will reprise his role as IMF agent Ethan Hunt for a sixth time in the franchise, while the likes of Jeremy Renner (William Brandt), Simon Pegg (Benji Dunn), Rebecca Ferguson (Ilsa Faust), and Ving Rhames (Luther Stickell) are expected to return for the forthcoming film.
The franchise has been a huge money spinner over the years, making a combined $2.8 billion worldwide.
As well as ‘Mission: Impossible’, Paramount announced Alexander Payne’s ‘Downsizing’ movie, which will feature the likes of Matt Damon, Kristen Wiig, Christoph Waltz and Alec Baldwin will drop on December 22, 2017.
The sci-fi comedy drama movie also stars Neil Patrick Harris and Jason Sudeikis.

Eddie Redmayne auditioned for Kylo Ren role

OHMYGOSSIP — Eddie Redmayne auditioned for Kylo Ren in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’.
The 34-year-old actor is set to hit screens as Newt Scamander in the Harry Potter spin-off ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ later this month, but he has revealed he previously auditioned for the dark warrior part in the sci-fi movie.
The role of Kylo Ren – the movie’s antagonist – eventually went to 32-year-old Adam Driver, and Eddie has now disclosed the “ridiculous” details of his unsuccessful audition.
Speaking to Uproxx.com, the star said: “So, I was going for, I think, for [the same part as] Adam Driver. They gave me like a ‘Star Trek’ scene – or like something from ‘Pride and Prejudice’. It was one of those films. With films that top secret, they don’t give you the actual lines. So they give you a scene from ‘Pride and Prejudice’, but then they tell you you’re auditioning for the baddie. If you’re me, you then put some ridiculous voice on.
“That was really a hilarious moment. Because it was Nina Gold, who I have to thank a lot because she’s cast me in several films. And she was just sitting there and I was trying again and again with different versions of my kind of [Darth Vader breathing sound] voice. And after like 10 shots she’s like, ‘You got anything else?’ I was like, ‘No.’ ”
Although Eddie didn’t score the ‘Star Wars’ role, he isn’t too disheartened as his magical part in the ‘Harry Potter’ series was something he had always been interested in, because he was “obsessed with magic” when he was younger.
He said previously: “There was this amazing shop called Davenports – the kind of shop where real magicians buy their tricks, the sort of place where you could buy the equipment to saw someone in half.
“It had a very Potter vibe, actually – it was in this slightly grotty subway beneath Charing Cross station in London.
“When I got cast in this film, my grandma was like, ‘I always knew you could play a wizard.’ She was thrilled.”
