Diego Luna's surprise Rogue One: A Star Wars Story role

OHMYGOSSIP — Diego Luna has compared starring in ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ to being in love.
The 36-year-old actor is taking on the role of Captain Cassian Andor in the hotly-anticipated movie and has likened the “surprise” of getting the role to falling in love.
Asked if he had ever imagined he would star in such a big movie franchise, he said: “No, never. The best things that have come to me in life have been a surprise. I think it’s because I have kept working, even in something else, and not because of waiting for it. I just think that when you focus your energy in the right direction things start to work out and life surprises you in a positive way.
“Maybe I’m being too romantic, but it’s impossible to travel somewhere looking to fall in love with someone. Instead, when you stop looking for it, it comes to you and soon you are in love. If I didn’t have a movie right now I would be very happy doing theatre.”
Diego has mainly starred in smaller independent films in the past but wasn’t fazed by the move to the bigger budget movie as director Gareth Edwards kept everyone at ease.
He added to The Red Bulletin: “When the heart of the people working on the production is in the right place, then the size doesn’t really matter. In the end, it’s about teamwork and how you can complement each other on the set. It’s a little like what the film is about: how important it is to connect with others in order to achieve something big.
“The director, Gareth Edwards, made the set sometimes feel like a very small independent film. I’ve worked before with so many directors who are so afraid of sharing the experience with someone else, as if it was going to be taken away from them. This film reminded me that there’s nothing like cinema because it’s about that interaction -that journey that you go through with others.”

Tom Holland found out about Spider-Man job on Instagram

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Holland found out he got the part of Spider-Man via Instagram.
The 20-year-old actor reprises his role as the Marvel superhero in ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ and was told the exciting news that he had landed his dream gig through the photo-sharing app, which he says was “absolutely nuts”.
Asked how he learnt he had the job, he said: “I was in my bed scrolling through Instagram. It had been about a month since my audition. And Marvel just posted a photo saying go to our website and find out who the next Spider-Man is. I went on the Marvel website on my computer and there it was: The new Spider-Man is Tom Holland. I went ballistic, like absolutely nuts.”
Tom has already portrayed Spider-Man in ‘Captain America: Civil War’, but says this time they’ve decided to make the fight scenes “child-friendly”.
He told The Hollywood Reporter: “You’ve seen the billionaire, the scientist, the soldier. Now it’s time to see the kid. And every decision we make on set is based off how would a kid react in this situation, so every fight scene we have is designed in a way that’s almost child-friendly, so he never actually punches anyone. It’s all done kind of by accident. I think the biggest difference is his youth and innocence.”
Tom also revealed that he has signed up for a total of three movies for ‘Spider-Man’ and has praised Marvel for allowing him to work on other films.
He said: “I do know I have three Spider-Man movies and three solo movies contracted. But if you have another movie, Marvel is so good at working around it. They’re very respectful of your life, really. They understand that you have to work on other movies, and they try and fix it up so you can work around each other.”
‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ is slated for release in 2017.

Amy Adams owes acting career to hair colour

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Adams owes her acting career to being a redhead.
The 42-year-old actress – who is married to actor Darren Le Gallo – first coloured her hair from strawberry blonde to dark red in 2004 for her role in TV show ‘Dr. Vegas’ and she has been given more “fun” roles ever since.
Speaking at the New York Times’ TimesTalk event on Wednesday (09.11.16) she shared: “Based on roles that I was getting, called in for, people were responding to certain types of characters with me as a blonde and the minute I went red, it was quirky and fun instead of flirtatious and dumb”.
The ‘American Hustle’ star previously revealed it wasn’t completely her choice to have a dramatic colour change, as she was told that either herself or her ‘Dr. Vegas’ co-star Sarah Lancaster would have to dye their hair for the show, which aired in 2004.
She said: “I played a nurse and there was this beautiful blonde, Sarah Lancaster, who was cast as the casino dealer.
“I’m in a room with her, and they said, ‘Someone’s going to have to change their hair colour.’
“She’s tan with these beautiful lioness green eyes and this mane of blonde hair.
“And I looked at her and me, with my pale freckles, and thought, Gee, I wonder which one of us is going to go red!”.
Although the actress has since returned to strawberry blonde she has no regrets and says it has been a “powerful tool” for her career.
She said: “It was great, I liked that. But in all seriousness, it’s just hair colour. It was really fascinating to see just one element of yourself change people’s perception and that became a very powerful tool for me even in my acting.”

Naked Attraction to return for second series

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Naked Attraction’ will return for a second series.
The Channel 4 show – which sees single men and women decide who they want to date by looking at their future lovers stark naked – will make its return in the New Year.
A source said: “The first series of Naked Attraction proved that the nation has a fascination with full frontal nudity and seeing suitors being picked by their privates. It drew in fantastic viewing figures and stirred up quite a reaction on social media.
“There has therefore been little debate among bosses as to whether it should be recommissioned – and they have decided that they want a second series to air in the New Year.”
And the show – which is fronted by Anna Richardson – is already looking for men and women who are “ready to take radical action to find their perfect partner”.
The insider told The Sun newspaper: “Studio Lambert who make the show were surprised during the first series by just how many members of the public were confident enough to sign up to strip off on TV.
“They’re hoping they’ll will have just a big an intake in the seconds series and have already put out ads online asking for willing individuals to star on the show.”
In the advert for participants, Studio Lambert are calling for those with an “interesting body look” to apply.
They shared: “We are looking for men and women of all different body types, and looks, to take part in a new and exciting dating show. Do you have an interesting body look, for example, do you have pale skin and naturally ginger hair?
“We’re looking for singles who are ready to take radical action to find their perfect partner. In this new show potential couples will be able to see each other in their naked glory from the very onset. Are you up for … naked dating!”

Buster the boxer dog is the star of John Lewis' Christmas advert

OHMYGOSSIP — Buster the boxer dog finally got his Christmas wish in the John Lewis festive advert, which was released on Thursday (10.11.16).
The story begins with Buster intently watching young Bridget as she jumps on her bed but the little girl is soon asked to head to sleep so her father can begin constructing her big Christmas surprise, a huge trampoline complete with a red bow.
Bridget’s mother watches on as he carefully builds the huge present and once it is all assembled, he heads back in to relax in front of the television with his wife.
As the trampoline sits in the garden waiting for Bridget to lay her eyes on it in the morning, two playful foxes Otto and Olivia emerge from the hedgerow and climb up onto the toy. Buster looks on from inside the house, desperately wishing he could join the foxes and Betsy the badger bouncing around.
Soon, Halle the hedgehog and Sid the squirrel join in and they are all jumping along to a stunning rendition of Randy Crawford’s ‘One Day I’ll Fly Away’, performed by electronic band Vaults alongside a 70-strong choir and 66-piece orchestra.
Morning comes and Bridget wakes up, excited for Christmas. She heads downstairs to her parents, who are already waiting to show her the best gift of all.
She runs to have a go on the trampoline but Buster swoops past her and starts bouncing around, much to Bridget and her parent’s shock.
As Bridget looks back to her parents with awe, the company’s Christmas slogan for the year, ‘Gifts that everyone will love’, appears on the screen.
For this year’s advert – which is thought to have cost the company around £1 million to make – John Lewis have partnered with The Wildlife Trust, who will receive some of the profits from the sale of the soft toy animals featured in the video.

Vicky Pattison thinks Carol Vorderman will have a meltdown on I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

OHMYGOSSIP — Vicky Pattison thinks Carol Vorderman will have a meltdown on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’.
The 28-year-old television personality and former Queen of the Jungle – who won the popular ITV series in 2015 – has admitted she is “worried” about the 55-year-old presenter and thinks she will really “struggle” in the jungle because she is a “princess”.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I’m really worried about her. We had her on ‘It’s Not Me, It’s You’ and she was saying how she liked her life the way she liked it, she seemed very particular.
“She lives with her mum and her mum looks after her. I thought she’s a princess on a panel show – what will she be like in the jungle?
“I think she’ll really, really struggle and I think we’ll see a meltdown if she goes in. It would be great TV.”
Although the former ‘Geordie Shore’ star is concerned for the former ‘Countdown’ co-host, she has credited Carol as a “sexy lady” and believes she will be “brilliant in the shower”.
Vicky said: “She’s a sexy lady. [She will be] brilliant in the shower.”
Meanwhile Carol – who is reportedly being paid £200,000 for her stint in the jungle – has admitted she is ready to face the dreaded Bushtucker Trials.
She explained: “I want to step out of my comfort zone. I am a good team player and I will do any job asked of me. I really don’t like arguments.”
Carol will be joined by former ‘EastEnders’ actor Larry Lamb, ‘Emmerdale’ star Adam Thomas, Strictly Come Dancing’ professional Ola Jordan, Scarlett Moffatt, Diversity star Jordan Banjo and radio presenter Lisa Snowdon on this year’s series, which will air on ITV on Sunday (13.11.16).

Eddie Redmayne's travelling wand

OHMYGOSSIP — Eddie Redmayne “can’t travel” anywhere without his wand.
The 34-year-old actor was given his own magical rod to use for ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ and he admits he can’t put it down even though filming has wrapped.
Asked when he finally felt comfortable using a wand, he said: “It’s consistently weird but also only weird to begin with because everything is so exciting, getting to jump into all those experiences. Then it becomes very natural very quickly. I took my wand everywhere. I have it in my case upstairs; I just can’t travel without it.”
And the father-of-one – who has four-month-old daughter Iris with his wife Hannah Bagshawe – enjoyed having a say on what the final product looked like and was amazed with how “intricate” the designs were.
He told USA Today: “When you enter the J. K. Rowling world, you get to go and meet people who design wands and we talked about my wand.
“They then come up with a selection of drawings and prototypes and it’s so intricate. My wand is made of ash wood and then made of a shell at the bottom, a bit of mother of pearl.”
Meanwhile, Eddie previously admitted he was worried about “screwing up” the movie, in which he plays magizoologist Newt Scamander.
He said: “Of course you feel pressure. Also, particularly because I loved the Potter films. There was something so warming about being able to dive back into that world every year or two. And if you’ve enjoyed something, you don’t want to be the one who comes in and screws it up.
“But pressure’s there with every film. With ‘The Theory of Everything’ it was knowing Stephen and Jane Hawking and the family would see the film. With ‘The Danish Girl’ it was all the people that I’d met in preparation for the film who came from the trans community. It’s pressure here of a different type, which is called hard core fandom.”

Matt Edmondson understands frustration over Honey G

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Edmondson thinks some of the ‘X Factor’ contestants are “annoyed” by Honey G’s popularity.
The ‘Xtra Factor’ host insists the controversial rapper offers “entertainment” to viewers, so can understand why she has proved a hit with audiences, but he also expects that to be frustrating for the more conventionally-talented singers in the competition.
Asked if the other hopefuls have turned against Honey G, he said: “She has captured the public’s imagination. I can imagine that some of the contestants who regard themselves as better singers might be annoyed.
“She’s offering a different kind of entertainment but I can see why other people might be annoyed.”
And Matt pointed to the success of his ‘Xtra Factor’ co-host Rylan Clarke-Neal as proof the contestants don’t have to be the best singers to do well.
He said: “During his year, Rylan was the joke act and brilliant people went out before him but he was offering something else too – he was entertaining and mouthy.
“The world would be a less fun place without people like Rylan in the mix.”
Meanwhile, the 30-year-old presenter admitted there is a lot of flirting going on backstage, with contestant Matt Terry and digital presenter Roman Kemp in the thick of it.
He told heat magazine: “I know Gifty Louise really fancied Matt Terry in a big way before she was voted off.
“Matt gets so much attention – everyone flirts with him.
“He has a bit of a Harry Styles quality about him and he’s the kind of guy you want to take home to your mum.
“Though Roman is the biggest flirt I have ever met. I wouldn’t be surprised if he goes after one of the Four of Diamonds girls.”

George Lamb thinks Larry will be great on I'm A Celebrity

OHMYGOSSIP — George Lamb has backed his dad Larry to win ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’.
The 69-year-old actor is due to start his stint in the jungle as part of the ITV show this weekend, and his television presenter son George, 36, has said he’ll be a hit in the camp because he’s “like a cave man” and “likes an adventure”.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, the former ‘Big Brother’s Little Brother’ presenter said: “My old man is like a cave man.
“He loves being outside and making fires and all that stuff. He won’t be bothered about sleeping rough. He likes an adventure.
“For his 60th birthday we went up the Himalayas – we’ve been talking about doing it again for his 70th, when he’s back.”
George’s backing comes after it was recently revealed that the ‘Gavin & Stacey’ actor had to get his family’s seal of approval before he went on the show, as he previously suffered from malaria after a trip to Senegal in 2010.
The actor was left with chronic joint pain and almost complete deafness in one ear, but George doesn’t think that will affect his jungle experience.
He said: “He’s got all the ailments that a 70-year-old man would have. He’s got a bit of a funny foot and his ear’s not great. I’m not worried about him in that respect. He’s not crock or anything. He’s got arthritis but it’s not like he can’t walk.”
And the BT Sport host also thinks that although the former EastEnders star has trouble hearing, he’ll use it to his advantage in order to “tune people out”.
He added: “If someone’s annoying him or having a row, he can tune them out.
“Or he will just pretend he can’t hear them. He’s quite good at that if he doesn’t want to listen to someone. He will just zone out and say ‘What’s that? Can’t hear you.’ He’s chilled. He just lets it wash over him. Things don’t bother him.
“Dad is genuinely a nice guy. He’s a national treasure.”

Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man trouble

OHMYGOSSIP — Andrew Garfield often “got in trouble” while working on ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’.
The 33-year-old actor – who played the web-slinging superhero in two movies between 2012 and 2014 – was thrilled to land the role of Peter Parker and his alter ego but had to do a lot to “fight for his freedom” while working within the Marvel Comics universe.
He said: “I was really excited to be Spider-Man. I had a real hope that it would be something that young people could connect with, that wasn’t just about commodifying everything.
“But I had to fight a lot for my freedom within that. And I’d often get in trouble as I’d say things I wasn’t supposed to.”
Though Andrew – who previously dated Emma Stone – loves his job as an actor, he isn’t a fan of the surrounding public interest in celebrity culture.
He told Mr. Porter: ‘You just need to go home and be with friends, be with family. But I’m still learning, to be honest. I love being an actor, but I’m not crazy about celebrity culture.”
Andrew can next be seen in true-life tale ‘Hacksaw Ridge’, in which he plays Desmond T. Doss, who became the first conscientious objector in US history to receive the Medal of Honor.
And the actor admits making the movie, which is directed by Mel Gibson, gave him a lot of perspective on his own life and caused him to question the values of society.
He told Mr. Porter: “When you look at Desmond Doss and then you look at our generation, you do ask questions. What do we value?
“Is it service, humility, our capacity to love, our capacity to be true? Or are we going to honour and value physical attractiveness or braggadocio or arrogance?”

A Star Is Born for 2018 release

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘A Star Is Born’ has been given a 2018 release date.
The remake of the musical drama – which was previously made for screens in 1937, 1954, and 1976 – has been slated for a September 28 2018 release, Warner Bros. have announced.
‘A Star Is Born’ will star Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper in the two starring roles as the story follows fading movie star (Cooper) who helps an aspiring star (Gaga) find her feet in the world of fame whilst his own career spirals downwards.
Cooper, 41, will also be making his directorial debut on the set of the remake, as well as working on the producing team alongside Jon Peters, Bill Gerber, and Basil Iwanyk.
It has also been revealed that Ray Liotta is in talks to join the cast, though it is not clear what his role would be.
The release announcement comes after a number of failed attempts by Clint Eastwood to revive the script over the past few years, before he eventually stepped down from his producing role. But with confirmed leads and now a set release date, it seems production is finally underway.
Eastwood, 86, had always cast Cooper in the main role during the failed attempts to get the project made, and made sure to suggest to him the role of director after working with him on ‘American Sniper’ and hearing that Cooper was actively seeking directorial work.
For Gaga, the role comes off the back of her huge success in TV thriller ‘American Horror Story: Hotel’, for which she picked up a Golden Globe for best actress in a mini-series.
Also announced recently is the possible addition of ‘Goodfellas’ star Ray Liotta, as he is reportedly in talks to join the already star-studded cast in an as-yet-unconfirmed role.

Carol Vorderman is highest-paid I'm A Celebrity contestant

OHMYGOSSIP — Carol Vorderman will earn £200,000 for competing on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’.
The 55-year-old presenter will be the highest-paid contestant in the Australian jungle this year, though former ‘EastEnders’ actor Larry Lamb and hunky ‘Emmerdale’ star Adam Thomas won’t be too far behind.
A source said: “Carol doesn’t need the money so ITV had to come up with something decent because she’s the show’s main focal point at the moment as she is the most recognisable star.
“Going in the jungle won’t hurt her career and so £200,000 is basically free money. Larry and Adam are both on the telly a lot and will be a good draw for soaps fans – especially Adam who will bring in the younger viewers.”
Former England footballer Wayne Bridge will be paid £150,000 as bosses are hoping he will speak about his ex-Chelsea teammate John Terry, who had an affair with his then-girlfriend Vanessa Perroncel.
Former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional Ola Jordan will reportedly earn £90.000 for her stint Down Under, while ‘Gogglebox’ star Scarlett Moffatt, model Lisa Snowdon, and Olympian Sam Quek will also be paid in the region of £70,000 to £40,000.
Comedian Joel Dommett and Diversity dancer Jordan Banjo are this year’s lowest-paid contestants, with each earning fees of around £25,000.
However, the two relative unknowns are aware the show will give them great exposure and should be great for their future careers.
The source added to The Sun Online: “Jordan and Joel are virtual unknowns so the money is low for them but still not a bad pay day and the jungle experience could really boost their careers.”
‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ – which is hosted by Ant and Dec – will return to ITV on Sunday (13.11.16).

Stephanie Davis: 'I'm still not feeling 100 per cent better'

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephanie Davis is still feeling “a little under the weather” despite being discharged from hospital earlier this week.
The 23-year-old actress was rushed into accident and emergency last Wednesday (02.11.16) after being struck down with a mystery illness, and although the former ‘Hollyoaks’ star – who is pregnant with her first child – was sent home on Monday (07.11.16), she is still not feeling “100 per cent better” and is “sorry” she has been unable to update her blog.
Speaking about her well-being on her column with OK! Online, which was published on Wednesday (09.11.16), she said: “Hi guys,
Thank you all so much for all your well wishes – and I’m sorry I haven’t been able to update the blog for a while.
I am still a little under the weather, but when I’m feeling 100 per cent, I’ll be back updating you with the latest from me and bump!
Until then, hugs and kisses!
Steph and bump x.”
This news comes after the television personality, who is expecting a baby boy with her ex-boyfriend Jeremy McConnell, sparked fears she’d gone into early labour after her presence on Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram came to a halt last week.
However, rumours she had welcomed a tiny tot into the world was hushed after a spokesperson for the star spoke out about Stephanie’s illness.
Speaking previously, a spokesperson for the star said: “We can confirm Stephanie has been in hospital since Wednesday 2nd November due to an illness and is currently undergoing further tests.
“Stephanie has been subject to a number of rumours online the last few days regarding her pregnancy. We would like to confirm Stephanie has not given birth and her baby is doing well.”
And this wasn’t the first time the former ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ star was admitted to hospital during her pregnancy during her second trimester.
She said at the time: “I ended up going to hospital. My mum was going to call an ambulance. They checked me out and they actually thought I was in early labour because I was having what they thought was early contractions.”

Charlotte Riley's swing-dancing preparations

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlotte Riley’s formal nights out prepared her for her role in ‘Close to the Enemy’.
The 34-year-old actress is set to star in the seven-part period drama – which airs on BBC Two on Thursday (10.11.16) – and admitted she had a head start with the dance training for the show because she regularly goes out swing-dancing in London.
Asked if she had to learn to swing dance for her new role, she said: “Actually I knew how to swing dance already, from nights out watching swing bands at the 100 club and Lady Luck Club in London, the kind of places where people ask each other to dance very formally.”
However, Charlotte – who is married to Hollywood star Tom Hardy – admits her and her co-star Sebastian Armesto made a few footwork mistakes when on set.
She added to Stylist magazine: “Seb [who plays her on-screen husband Alex] and I had a laugh, especially when we – supposedly the stars of the scene – messed up our steps while we were surrounded by professional dancers.”
Set in 1946, the series focuses around a British intelligence officer whose intentions are to charm secrets from a scientist being held against his will.
Meanwhile, Charlotte previously revealed she was excited to take on a role that is set in the “interesting period” of post-war Britain.
She said: “It’s just such an interesting period, 1946. There was this insane amount of creativity around. Everyone had been so suppressed and focused on the war effort but then the creativity burst through and that’s kind of what Rachel represents.”
‘Close to the Enemy’ starts Thursday 10 November on BBC2.

Danny Mac to wed Carley Stenson next year

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Mac is getting married next year.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star has revealed he and his fiancée Carley Stenson have set a date for their wedding in late summer and quipped he’ll be signing Carley up for dance lessons to make sure their first dance is perfect.
He said: “She’s a stunner. She’s far too good for me … We’re getting married next year … There is a date; it’s towards the end of the summer – it’s going to be at home [in the UK] so everyone can be there. We haven’t put all our invites out yet.”
Asked if he’s ready for their first dance, he said: “I hope so; I hope to have a little more confidence. Maybe we’ll get her trained up.”
And despite having a “pretty bad” memory, there is no chance of the 28-year-old actor forgetting when their big day is as Carly has set up Danny’s phone so they have a joint calendar on it.
Speaking on ITV’s Loose Women, he said: “My memory’s pretty bad as well. I’m always listening!
“Carly’s set up a group calendar on our phones so everything that we both have to go to is on there. The amount of times I forget to – I tell you what I probably can’t remember the things I’ve forgot.”
And Danny better be sure to save the date as he previously revealed he was asked to return to ‘Hollyoaks’, in which he played Mark ‘Dodger’ Savage for four years until 2015.
He explained: “I’ve not really watched the show since I left, so I don’t know what’s going on, or even if Dodger’s still on the run. It was so nice that the writers didn’t want to kill him off, because they had plenty of opportunity to do that! They always said that they’d have me back – that’s a compliment.”
