Kanye West working with Will Ferrell on biopic

OHMYGOSSIP — Kanye West and Will Ferrell have started working on plans to turn the rapper’s life story into a film.
The 39-year-old hip hop artist – who is married to Kim Kardashian West – has been in contact with the comedian to discuss plot ideas for a biopic about his rise to fame.
According to website Dish Nation, the pair have exchanged numerous emails about the film, which Kanye wants to be a comedy movie filled with lots of funny one-liners and slapstick gags rather than be a rags-to-riches tale about his ascent to the top of the music business.
A source said: “Kanye has been thinking about this for a long, long time and he has been trading ideas and discussions with Will to make a funny comedy about his life. But rather than take himself too seriously, he really feels it has to be a comedy and not a preachy film. He wants it to be an easy watch, filled with laughter just like the movies he loves.”
The ‘Fade’ hitmaker has also been discussing his ideas with Ferrell’s long-time collaborator Adam McKay as he is such a huge fan of the pair’s movies which include ‘Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy’, ‘Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby’ and ‘Step Brothers’.
And Kanye, 39, doesn’t want a big name actor portraying him on the big screen, instead he wants to play himself in the project.
The source added: “Kanye’s exchanged various ideas with Will and his comedy partner Adam and doesn’t want a young actor playing him. Instead, he’s suggested playing the role himself, aged 13, sitting in his bedroom writing lyrics and sporting a comedy pair of braces to emphasise the point home. Will and Adam are both very open to the idea and think they can come up with enough comic material, with the help of Kanye, to put together a comedy film just as good as what they’ve worked on before … They think there’s huge potential there to make a classic, if not quite obscure, comedy that will appeal to more than just his fans.”
The trio have worked together before when Kanye filmed a small cameo in Will and Adam’s 2013 sequel film ‘Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues’.
The award-winning rapper and fashion designer has made no secret of his admiration of Will and after seeing his movie ‘Zoolander 2’ this year he posted on Twitter that the 49-year-old actor is a “living breathing god” and called his “existence a blessing”.
Kanye has also previously stated he’d be happy for Will to play him in a film of his life and compared himself to one of Will’s most famous big screen characters, Buddy the Elf from Christmas movie ‘Elf’.
The rap superstar previously said: “He is one of my personal gods. I would like Will Ferrell to play me in ‘The Kanye West Story’. Can you make that happen?”

Harley Quinn movie adds writer

OHMYGOSSIP — Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn spin-off movie has moved forward after landing a writer.
Christina Hodson will pen the screenplay for the forthcoming film, which will see the 26-year-old actress reprise her ‘Suicide Squad’ role as the sexy, psychotic supervillain, and produce the motion picture.
According to The Wrap, Warner Bros. are yet to officially comment about the project, which will feature several female superheroes rather than just be based purely on Quinn.
But it’s not yet clear how each character, and which ones, will feature in the movie.
Hodson has written three scripts which have made the Black List – an annual survey of the most liked movie screenplays yet to be released – including a ‘Fugitive’ reboot and ‘The Eden Project’, which was sold to Sony and Material Pictures.
She recently penned 2016 thriller ‘Shut In’, which stars Naomi Watts as psychologist Mary Portman who starts believing there is someone inside her house after a storm breaks out.
In September, Robbie was reported to have signed a “first-look” deal with Warner Bros. to produce the Quinn spin-off film.
She is said to have fallen in love with the character after portraying her in ‘Suicide Squad’.
It’s not known whether Quinn’s dangerous lover The Joker (Jared Leto) will star in the spin-off or Batman (Ben Affleck), who is traditionally the superhero trying to stop the pair’s criminal plans.
But Robbie has previously admitted she would love Quinn and The Joker to reunite.
She said: “I’m trying to make that happen. Not for anything specifically, but just something – there’s so much more to do.”

BBC call for Doctor Who revamp in 2018

OHMYGOSSIP — BBC bosses want ‘Doctor Who’ to feel like a “brand new show” when it changes management in 2018.
Chris Chibnall, 46, will be taking over from current showrunner Steven Moffatt when he steps down from the role in 2018, and the ‘Broadchurch’ writer is set to start with a “clean slate” in order to revamp the sci-fi show.
Insiders suggest the new Time Lord – currently played by 58-year-old Peter Capaldi – will be younger and more “dashing”, in a bid to boost the sales of merchandise that have severely dropped in recent years.
A source told the Daily Mirror Newspaper: “BBC management wants a return to the format from the David Tennant era, when you had a dashing male lead and young female companion.
“Merchandising has dropped off sharply in recent years and there is a strong desire to boost the show’s popularity among kids.”
But the decision to start fresh comes as bad news for the recently signed Pearl Mackie, 29, who is set to be starring as the time traveller’s new companion Bill when the show returns next year, as it means she’ll likely depart the show along with Peter and Steven after the 2017 Christmas special.
Speaking about her role, Pearl said previously: “I knew I could bring her to life. She’s funny and geeky and vulnerable. There’s a goofiness to her and a big heart. She gets things wrong; she has a temper. I thought, ‘I know her. I could play her.'”
The news comes after BBC bosses have also stressed they want a full series each year, as 2016 won’t have aired a new episode until the Christmas special. Chiefs are also reportedly calling for more accessible story arcs, after complaints that the previous series’ have been too complicated for casual viewers.

The 26-year-old actor has revealed he was asked by the productions film director Garth Davis to undergo a drastic “change” for his role as Saroo Brierley in the upcoming drama to look like a man “no one has ever seen before”, which led him to grow his hair and beard to look more mature and masculine.

I really want you to change.’ He said he wanted to see a Dev Patel that no one has ever seen before.
“I become a man, really.”
Patel has revealed he wanted to be fully committed to the project, and immediately after the audition he told his manager to clear his schedule for the “next eight months” so he wouldn’t get distracted by other jobs whilst shooting scenes for the production..
He explained: “I called my manager straight after I walked out of the audition and told him that if I get it, don’t send me anything for the next eight months. Don’t distract me with any other work or audition.”
And Patel has admitted opportunities such as ‘Lion’ don’t come around “very often” for him.
He said: “Journeys like this don’t come around very often for someone who looks like I do.”
Meanwhile Saroo Brierley – who the movie is based on – has revealed he hopes the production truthfully and honestly depicts his reality.
Speaking about the movie, he said: “I think the thing that I really wanted, along with my family, is that the film came out the way it had been in reality.”

Hayao Miyazaki to return to feature film directing?

OHMYGOSSIP — Hayao Miyazaki has hinted he will make a return to feature filmmaking.
The 75-year-old Studio Ghibli co-founder previously announced his retirement from feature films in September 2013 after the summer release of his last feature, ‘The Wind Rises’, but has now stated that he wants to keep working until he “dies in the middle” of making a movie.
The highly decorated animation director – who took home an Academy Honorary Award at the Governors Awards ceremony in 2014 – has created a short film entitled ‘Boro the Caterpillar’ for the Studio Ghibli museum in Tokyo, and has reportedly held discussions about creating a full length version with veteran Ghibli producer Toshio Suzuki.
Speaking to Japanese broadcasting channel NHK, the ‘Spirited Away’ director said: “I haven’t said anything to my wife yet. When I do, though, I’m ready die in the middle (of production).”
Toshio, 68, backed up Hayao’s statements, saying that the animation studio – who are responsible for a number of heartfelt animated movies such as ‘My Neighbour Totoro’ and ‘Howl’s Moving Castle’ – would continue to be a home for the director.
He added: “Miyazaki is a person who will keep making films until he dies. Ghibli will continue as long as Miyazaki continues to make films.”
If the ‘Kiki’s Delivery Service’ director does decide to come out of retirement for one last project, it wouldn’t be the first time he’s failed and keeping himself out of work.
The director previously claimed he would be retiring in 1998 after declaring that ‘Princess Mononoke’ would be his last feature, and has gone on to create a further six films in 18 years.
‘Boro the Caterpillar’ has not yet been greenlit, and if the studio continue at their current pace, the feature can be expected in 2021.

Sam Lavery kicked from X Factor

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Lavery has been given the boot from ‘The X Factor’.
The 17-year-old singer found herself in the sing-off for the first time in the competition as she battled for her place against 20-year-old Ryan Lawrie.
Sam – who was the youngest singer on the ITV talent show – took on Mary J Blige’s ‘No More Drama’, as she went up against Ryan’s cover of ‘Stop Crying Your Heart Out’ by rock band Oasis.
Simon Cowell – who mentors the girls – chose to save his act and send home Ryan, as the boys’ mentor Nicole Scherzinger opted to send home Sam.
Louis Walsh then voted to send home Ryan, and the casting vote lay with Sharon Osbourne, who had seemingly decided to send home Ryan, as he had previously found himself in the bottom three multiple times.
Sharon said: “You know, this is so… at this point, Ryan you have improved so much, that was a great safe song, it was brilliant. I don’t know what to do, I honestly do not know what to do.
“The name of the act I am sending home, it’s only because he’s been in the bottom so many times… I hate to do this.”
But after being pressed for a decision from presenter Dermot O’Leary, Sharon eventually chose to send home Sam, sending the vote to deadlock.
The decision then reverted to the original public vote, and Sam was kicked from the competition after receiving the fewest public votes.
Speaking after her exit, Sam said: “Thank you to Simon. Just watching that [the video of her time in the competition] I’m like a completely different person from when I first auditioned but all for the right reasons. So just thank you so much. Thank you for everything.”
Ryan and the remaining contestants will be back next Saturday (19.11.16) where they will perform songs from the movies theme.

Daisy Lowe kicked off Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Daisy Lowe has been kicked off ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 27-year-old model found herself in the dreaded dance-off for the third time in the BBC dance competition, and was sent home after she failed to compete against Greg Rutherford with her 1960s inspired salsa.
Only Bruno Tonioli opted to save the leggy model, with the other three judges – Len Goodman, Craig Revel Horwood, Darcey Bussell – instead favouring the 29-year-old Olympian’s paso doble.
Speaking about her departure, the brunette beauty said: “I’ve loved every minute. Everyone here is so unbelievable you have no idea. The make-up, costume, production, cameras, everyone. The judges, thank you so much for everything, I’ve loved every moment.
And Daisy couldn’t leave the competition without thanking her professional partner Aljaz Skorjanec, dubbing him as her “hero”.
She added: “Hang on, hang on. And this one! My hero. Thank you for everything.”
The 26-year-old dancer had nothing but nice things to say about his partner too, calling her “unforgettable”.
He said: “You’ve been the most joyous in rehearsals, on the weekends. You’ve taught me so much, you’re a beautiful person inside and out. You’re a beautiful dancer, and thank you for making this ‘Strictly…’ unforgettable for me.”
The news of Daisy’s boot from the show comes after she recently revealed the strain of the show caused her split from former boyfriend Frankie Wade as she couldn’t make time for him.

Great British Bake Off 'could return in 2017'

OHMYGOSSIP — The makers of ‘The Great British Bake Off’ are reportedly poised to launch a legal bid to air the programme in 2017.
The show is set to move from the BBC to Channel 4, but the programme’s original broadcaster believe it can block Love Productions from starting work on the much-discussed new series until at least 12 months from the airing of the final episode on the BBC.
An industry expert explained that the situation is more complicated than people may realise.
The industry insider told the Sunday People newspaper: “The BBC have what is known in the trade as a hold-back clause – it’s something they insist on as standard with all their shows.
“But with ‘Bake Off’ the situation is slightly different – because even though the BBC has lost the show, they still have to commercial rights for several more years.
“They’re duty bound by their own policy to maximise the commercial return on their own intellectual property rights – which covers merchandise – and keeping ‘Bake Off’ away from screens is not going to help with that.
“That could well form the basis of a strong legal argument to get the show on air sooner.”
Initially, Channel 4 had anticipated they would have to wait until 2018 to broadcast a series of the show in full.”

Eileen Derbyshire 'set to quit Coronation Street'

OHMYGOSSIP — Eileen Derbyshire is set to quit ‘Coronation Street’ after taking an extended 12-month break.
The 85-year-old actress – who stars as Emily Bishop on the ITV show – is the longest-serving member of the cast at present, having first appeared on the programme in 1961 – but Eileen is keen to spend more quality time with her family after taking a prolonged sabbatical at the end of 2015.
A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “Eileen has been off for a long time, and there is no expectation that she will be back. All of her cast mates have accepted she won’t be returning.
“She’s 85 and has been out of the show for a year, so she probably would have found it tough to get back into the fast pace of filming.”
Eileen could, therefore, become the latest in an increasingly long line of big-name actors and actresses who have left ‘Coronation Street’ in recent years, with the likes of Michelle Keegan having moved on to new shows.
Meanwhile, Anne Kirkbride – who played Dierdre Barlow – died from breast cancer in January last year, and Jean Alexander – who played Hilda Ogden – died in October.

Marion Cotillard: I'm my own biggest critic

OHMYGOSSIP — Marion Cotillard is her own biggest critic.
The French actress has revealed that regardless of the criticism she may receive from a cinema expert, it will never be as severe as her own personal take her performance.
Marion explained: “There’s always something I find wrong. The worst critic will never reach what I think about my work.”
In fact, Marion had admitted to hating at least one of the movies she has worked on.
She told the Sunday Times newspaper: “I did a movie where the director edited in every scene I was not totally convinced with… I hate the movie.”
Marion is particularly well-known for her abrupt death in the Batman film ‘The Dark Knight Rises’, which led to the sarcastic website peopledyinglikemarioncotillard.tumblr.com.
On reflection, the actress admitted that her death scene was not one of her finest moments on camera, although she is philosophical about the subsequent criticism.
She said: “Yes, it is not very good. But, come on, it is not the end of the world… For one scene, you become the worst actress on earth, when you’re trying to do your best to reach a kind of authenticity? It was unfair.”

Ed Balls hadn't heard of his fellow Strictly Come Dancing contestants before the show

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Balls hadn’t heard of his fellow ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ contestants before the show began.
The 49-year-old former Shadow Chancellor has a real “sense of camaraderie” with the other competitors, but he has admitted he was as oblivious to their career paths outside of the contest as they were about him.
When asked if he’d heard of his fellow contestants to Grazia magazine, he said: “Course not. But then most of them hadn’t heard of me so that’s fine.”
Ed has revealed he doesn’t think him and his partner Katya Jones will win the competition and is aware he needs to drastically improve to stay in the competition to the latter stages, although he thinks he would go home with the disco ball trophy if the show was voted solely on the entertainment factor instead of true dance ability.
He said: “I think the show changes as it goes on, towards a dance focus.
“So the only way I’ll stay in beyond a certain point is if my dancing is clearly getting better.
“I’m not sure that people vote relatively across the group, I think they vote relatively across past performances.
“If I was only entertainment, it would end.”
However, he has insisted he won’t be pulling out of the competition any time soon.
He explained: “People are supporting you and paying you to vote.”
Ed also admitted it came as a “shock” to learn he isn’t as good a dancer as he first thought.
He said: “I hoped my disco moves would translate onto the floor, so it was a bit of a shock to find out they didn’t.
“The problem is, there isn’t anybody this year who is worse.”
Ed – who has three children with wife Yvette Cooper – initially insisted on dancing in a suit but gave in to the show’s flamboyant costumes after realising he looked like “the BBC insurance guy who does risk assessments” and now accepts every ensemble suggested to him.
He said: “So now, when they suggest loads of sequins, I say fine.
“I’ve always known that I had this strong inner-camp. I’ve just never quite revealed it in this way.”

Eddie Redmayne's award guilt

OHMYGOSSIP — Eddie Redmayne feels “guilty” when he wins awards.
The ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them’ star – who has scooped an Oscar, BAFTA, SAG award, and Golden Globe, amongst other achievements – insists his profession isn’t as important or worthy as so many others so feels uncomfortable when he’s recognised for his work.
He said: “Awards make me feel guilty. As actors, lest we forget, we are adults being paid a lot of money to dress up and pretend to be someone else. We don’t cure diseases or solve the secrets of the universe!”
The 34-year-old star also admitted he feels “disturbed” by bad reviews but thinks it is important to listen to critics as they help him to learn.
He said: “There have been occasions where bad reviews have disturbed me.
“I’ve worked with some actors who are immune to criticism. But that can also mean you don’t listen you director, that you’ve stopped learning.”
And Eddie – who has four-month-old daughter Iris with wife Hannah – insists he hasn’t changed because of his international success.
He shared: “My life hasn’t changed in any fundamental way since winning an Oscar, other than becoming a father, which has been extraordinary.
“I still see the same friends as before. I’m simply happy to be doing what I’ve wanted to do with my life since I was 12.”
Though ‘The Danish Girl’ star’s parents have always been supportive of his ambitions, Eddie admits his father urged him to seek a more stable and financially-rewarding profession.
He told Woman magazine: “Both my mother and father were very supportive of my acting ambitions, but my father, being in finance, did advise me that the odds were stacked against me.
“He would say to me, ‘Are you sure you wouldn’t rather be a producer? You would prbably earn a lot more money.'”

I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! bosses fear impact of freak storm

OHMYGOSSIP — The bosses of ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’ reportedly fear a freak storm could stop the show’s launch tonight (13.11.16).
The camp in Murwillumbah, New South Wales, has already been hit by bad weather and local authorities have advised people in the area to avoid going outside unless it is considered to be absolutely necessary.
A statement explained: “Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees. Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.”
Saturday’s filming has already been delayed and the team behind the reality TV programme will be under intense pressure to ensure it is edited in time, according to the Daily Star newspaper.
An insider has warned that although precautions have been taken to protect the camp from bad weather, the much-feared storm is likely to prove to be too strong for those defences.
The source said: “This is really bad luck. The production is set up to cope with different kinds of weather but this is fairly extreme.
“The sky turned black and torrential rain interrupted filming.”
Meanwhile, it has also been reported that ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ bosses have built a secret sex cave for contestants.
Producers of the ITV programme have installed a cave next to the jungle shower and reportedly hope that the celebrities will be tempted to get frisky while on the show.
Producer Oli Nash previously said: “Next door to the shower is a secret cave which will be hidden behind a locked door. It will be used a number of times throughout the series for our celebrities.
“Inside it is just a plain cave with a bench but we will be using it throughout the series for various events. The floors a bit hard – but it can be used for romance.”

Michelle Keegan 'is house-hunting in South Africa'

OHMYGOSSIP — Michelle Keegan is house-hunting in South Africa as she prepares to spend eight months away from her husband Mark Wright.
The brunette beauty is looking for a pad in Cape Town as she prepares for a sustained period away from home while she films the new series of the BBC show ‘Our Girl’, in which she plays the role of Georgie Lane.
A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “Michelle has asked her friends in Cape Town to start looking for a modern, airy flat in the Sea Point, Clifton or Camps Bay areas of Cape Town.
“The producers have warned that filming could take as long as eight months so she doesn’t want to be stuck in hotels like she was during the second series.”
Despite having to spend so long away from home, Michelle – who celebrates her second anniversary with Mark in May – is looking forward to reprising the role of Georgie.
The source said: “Michelle is looking forward to getting started. She gets on really well with the crew and has become one of the lads onset, so being away from home for so long shouldn’t be a huge deal.
“Mark comes to visit occasionally but Michelle tends to get so immersed in her character and the filming that I think she’s happy to be left alone for the most part.”
Michelle, 29, previously admitted to being overwhelmed by the positive response to ‘Our Girl’ from the public.
She said previously: “The reaction to the show has been overwhelming and I’m really thankful to everyone who’s watched and supported it.
“It was an amazing experience filming with such an incredible group of people and I can’t wait to do it all over again.”

Marion Cotillard reveals work-life balance struggle

OHMYGOSSIP — Marion Cotillard struggles to strike a healthy work-life balance.
The 41-year-old actress has revealed she often spends a lot of her time away from a movie set thinking about her on-screen character – which is especially bad because she is typically drawn towards playing “disturbed or dramatic people”.
She shared: “It is about finding the right balance between work and coming home without anything from the character.
“And it’s really hard because, when you spend two months on a project, you process in your dreams what you have lived during the day … And I have a tendency to choose disturbed or dramatic people.”
Meanwhile, Marion also confessed that she finds it odd seeing herself age on a cinema screen.
She told the Sunday Times newspaper: “A woman who lives her life, wakes and looks at herself in the mirror, she has this routine, and every day you age a little more, but it’s not in your face. When you see yourself ageing on screen, it’s really weird.
“It’s interesting to experience, and I guess it could be scary, as you have a magnifier on your evolution, what you become.”
The actress acknowledged that some people in the public eye struggle to cope with the ageing process, because they have, in part, been judged on their looks for the bulk of their careers.
She said: “It’s going to mess you up, as sometimes you are not as strong as you should be. A lot of people live with poison in their head.
“Fear is the most effective poison in this world. Fear of ageing. Fear of the other. Of the unknown… Fear of tomorrow… Fear of death. Because it all ends there.”
