'Dorky' Eddie Redmayne

OHMYGOSSIP — Eddie Redmayne’s ‘Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them’ co-star says he is a “dork”.
Hollywood newcomer Alison Sudol admitted she was intimidated at first by the Oscar winning actor but quickly saw that he is just a regular person.
She told The Sunday Times’ Style magazine: “I am a huge fan of Eddie’s, so I was pretty intimidated, but right off the bat, we had a silly moment with our wands, and he went from being an Oscar winner to being just a dork like me.”
And Alison admitted everyone was starstruck when author JK Rowling stopped by the set.
She explained: “Everything slowed to a grinding halt when she was there, because all of us just wanted to be around her, picking her brain. She’s got an entire fully fledged world in her head.”
Meanwhile, Alison’s ‘Fantastic Beasts’ character Queenie has been praised as a feminist hero and the actress is delighted.
She said: “Really? Wow, that’s amazing. I think, as women, we are sometimes forced into boxes and told we can only be one thing. And that’s what we tell little girls, too: that they have to pick one thing to be. But women aren’t like that. We’re completely mystical, wonderful, contradictory creatures. Queenie is boisterous and confident and outgoing, but she’s also loyal and sensitive. She’s extraordinarily feminine and soft, but also strong.”

Nicole Scherzinger not impressed with Louis Walsh's boob job jibe

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicole Scherzinger blasted Louis Walsh for claiming she had a boob job.
Although the ‘X Factor’ judges get on well, Nicole, 38, was not impressed when Louis, 64, quipped that she had undergone breast enhancement surgery.
She told The Sunday People: “I said to Louis I’m like a fine wine, I just get better with age. When the time comes, maybe I’ll experiment with Botox. I just want to look like JLo. I mean how old is Jennifer now? And she’s the best she’s ever looked.
“Louis pushes his luck, but I can handle him. I’ve known all of them for a long time, so you can be cheeky and occasionally push it but we never take it personally.”
And despite being annoyed over Louis’s jibe, Nicole insisted the pair are actually very good friends.
She said: “A lot of the time, Louis is the one to lift me up. Some days he gives me a pep talk. We’re real friends behind the scenes.”
And Nicole admitted she would be happy to return to the ITV show next year, if Simon Cowell offers a good enough incentive.
She explained: “At the start of this year, I didn’t know what I’d be ¬doing but you’ve got to be open in this business. Maybe I’d be open to coming back to ‘X Factor’.
“We’ll see how hard Simon tries to persuade me!”
And with her career going well, the brunette beauty recently admitted she is also in a “very good place” in her personal life.
She shared: “I’m at a very good place now. I’m really happy. I don’t feel like there is any wall up or any tension or awkwardness. But that’s what’s so great with time and life and experience. What doesn’t break you or doesn’t kill you really only makes you stronger.
“I wasn’t shying away from anything. But I’m not taking any low digs or slaps at my past relationship because that’s just not who I am. Music speaks for itself and it’s open to interpretation for everyone. But everything I sing, I sing it from my piece of truth.”

Tom Ford: 'Nocturnal Animals is a cautionary tale'

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Ford says ‘Nocturnal Animals’ is a “cautionary tale” about disloyalty.
The fashion designer’s second movie stars Amy Adams, Jake Gyllenhaal and Isla Fisher and Tom – who has a son Alexander with his husband Richard Buckley – says the neo-noir psychological thriller was inspired by his belief in loyalty.
He told the New York Post’s Page Six: “Loyalty is something that is very important to me. I’ve been with the same person for the last 30 years. This is a story about finding people in your life who mean something to you and holding on to them, not letting them go. It’s literally a cautionary tale about what could happen when you do let those people go and it’s set up against a background of contemporary culture because that’s what we do in culture today. We throw things away, and we often throw people away.”
Tom also revealed he is happy to juggle his fashion and movie careers as both have aspects that he loves.
He explained: “You have to have a point of view. You have to have a story to tell. Fashion moves very quick. I love it. It satisfies a part of my creative self. However, film lasts forever.”
Meanwhile, Isla recently admitted she couldn’t wait to finish shooting ‘Nocturnal Animals’ because it was so “emotionally draining”.
She said: “I can’t even watch those scenes back! We shot in the Mojave Desert and it was a night shoot that lasted for a week and a half … You know, normally I end a movie and I miss everybody and I wanna stay forever; this, I was like, ‘See ya later!’
“It was just so emotionally draining to do that kind of material and have it look real. You have to really commit to it and it’s a physical element. This movie is really about emotional violence and not physical violence, but my scenes, which are basically fictitious – they’re from a book that Amy Adams’ character is reading – it’s still, it’s just a lot; it was a lot to take on.”

Tom Hanks honoured to play real life hero Sully

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Hanks was honoured to play real-life “hero” Captain Chesley ‘Sully’ Sullenberger in his new movie ‘Sully: Miracle on the Hudson’.
The 60-year-old actor was chosen by director Clint Eastwood to portray the plane pilot who on the 15 January, 2009 carried out an emergency landing of a passenger jet on the Hudson River following a double bird strike to the engines. His actions saved the lives of all 155 passengers and crew on board with only minor injuries suffered by some individuals.
Hanks got to meet Sully – who suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in the wake of the incident and had to battle to prove the incident was not cause by “pilot error” – to prepare for his performance and he has nothing but respect for him.
In an interview with website HeyUGuys, he said: “I think heroes are people who voluntarily put themselves in harm’s way. And by that criteria you could say that anybody that puts themselves in an aeroplane for a living and cheats death somehow. They stand up in front of 140 odd people who are jammed into those seats and says, ‘I know we will be in the air for three-and-a-half hours but don’t worry we will get you there,’ that is somebody who takes on a responsibility that’s bigger than the average job requirements.”
Speaking about Sully’s quick-thinking actions, he added: “He was able to utilise that instinct and expertise that came from the 40 years experience – for which there is no substitute for. It’s extraordinary. But it’s not just the act, it’s the cost and what he (Sully) went through afterwards and I think that is something that your average human being can react to.”
Eastwood based his film on the book ‘Sully: My Search For What Really Matters’ written by Sullenberger and Jeffrey Zaslow.
Hanks stars in the film with Aaron Eckhart who plays Sully’s co-pilot Jeff Skiles and Laura Linney as Sully’s wife, Lorraine Sullenberger.

Eddie Redmayne uses public transport

OHMYGOSSIP — Eddie Redmayne still uses public transport, despite his global fame.
The Oscar-winning actor insists it “isn’t a problem” boarding the underground train as he thinks it is the easiest way to get around his home city of London.
He said: “It’s really not a problem at all. How else do you get around London? I mean, in the sense that the traffic is so awful.”
However, the ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them’ actor admits he will often make a hasty exit from the train if he gets recognised and someone tries to take a sneaky picture.
Explaining his reaction when he realises someone has taken his photo, he said: “You just have this really awkward 37 seconds before you run off the train in embarrassment.
“‘You’re like, ‘Oh, I get it. But couldn’t you have asked?’ Of course, people go, ‘That’s what you’ve signed up for.’ Maybe they’re right.”
Eddie – who has four-month-old daughter Iris with wife Hannah – gets photographed wherever he goes, but tries not to worry about it too much.
He said: “Your mind starts going to a weird place.”
While the ‘Danish Girl’ star is instantly recognisable these days, he wasn’t always a big name and he struggled to get cast opposite Julianne Moore in ‘Savage Grace’ because producers couldn’t secure financial backing with him attached to the project.
Eddie was initially cast before the film lost his financing, and then heard the project was back on so insisted on auditioning again – and was again blocked from the role until Julianne intervened.
He recalled to Britain’s Esquire magazine: “I remember calling my agent who said, ‘The financier behind the film doesn’t think you’re a big enough name, and your name is not on the list of bankability.’ There’s a list, apparently.
“I flew myself over to New York, I auditioned and auditioned and got cast again, but got told that this financier had again said no. It ended up being Julianne Moore fighting for me to do the part. She was incredibly kind to me, really put her neck out.”

Nicole Scherzinger covered in popcorn on The X Factor

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicole Scherzinger was showered in popcorn after a food fight broke out on the judges’ table on ‘The X Factor’.
The 38-year-old singer was introducing her act on the ITV show when Simon Cowell tipped the sweet treat over her head and Louis Walsh soon joined in, much to Sharon Osbourne’s amusement.
However, the incident didn’t put contestant Matt Terry off and he wowed with a faultless performance of ‘Writing’s On The Wall’ from hit movie ‘SPECTRE’.
Sharon gushed: “You know your comfort zone, you know what suits you. Unbelievable. This competition is anyone’s and you’ve just taken first place.”
And Simon added: “This is what we’ve been waiting for, at last. To use Nicole’s favourite expression, that took balls.
“You haven’t had the best two weeks but you come back. It was a great vocal. It’s really annoying that Nicole and you chose it but congratulations to the both of you.”
Nicole couldn’t help but tear up as she praised her act.
She said: “It’s what we’re all here for, to be moved. You look expensive; but what you have, you cannot buy. You took me there with you.”
On hearing their comments, Matt was overwhelmed and said: “I cannot describe how I feel right now. I’ve always wanted to sing this song. I’m loving it.”
Meanwhile, Simon told Honey G he would “rip up the rulebook” for her but Nicole questioned if people were hearing the same thing week on week.
She told the controversial contestant: “I love the energy. Towards the end, I started to wonder if I’m seeing the same thing week on week.”
Whilst Simon said: “You are infectious; every time you put on a show. Is it the best thing I’ve heard? No. Do I look forward to you coming back? Yes. It’s time to rip up the rulebook.”
And Louis Walsh didn’t hold back on his criticism of Ryan Lawrie – who opened the show with ‘Jailhouse Rock’ – when he compared him to Matt.
He said: “There is a guy on this show called Matt who will always be better than you.”
However, Simon praised the singer, adding: “I think this was your best performance of the whole show. It was the very first time you actually looked like you had fun.”
‘The X Factor’ continues on Sunday evening (20.11.16).

Danny Mac gets full marks on Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Mac topped the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ leaderboard at Blackpool’s iconic Tower Ballroom.
The former ‘Hollyoaks’ star and his professional partner Oti Mabuse easily secured full marks with a fast-paced charleston to ‘Puttin’ On the Ritz’.
Darcey Bussell told the duo: “There was a step to every beat of that music. What was impressive was how you held onto that one-handed cartwheel. It is difficult to distinguish who is the professional dancer now.”
Whilst Bruno Tonioli added: “It was like watching a Broadway show, it was that standard. What is great, you didn’t go too far on slapstick, it was all good dancing.”
Even Craig Revel Horwood was impressed by the performance, telling the actor: “One word, three syllables darling. Fabulous.”
After receiving 40 points from the judges, Danny was a little teary.
He said: “I can’t even put into words how this feels. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
Elsewhere on the show, Louise Redknapp impressed with a ‘Game of Thrones’ inspired pasa doble, which Darcey labelled as “dynamic and strong”
Craig told Louise’s dance partner Kevin Clifton: “Kevin, you always do brilliant pasos and this didn’t disappoint. Full of drama.”
Claudia Fragapane opened the show with a fantastic jive to ‘Hey Mickey’.
Head judge Len Goodman told her: “It did blow my mind. Little miss dynamite out there. It was quick, it was sharp. I thought it was a super dynamic routine and a super job.”
Whilst Craig added: “It’s a terrible shame because that routine could have been a 10 but that mistake … However, I really and truly loved it.”
Ed Balls may have ended up bottom of the leaderboard but his jive to ‘Great Balls of Fire’ had high energy.
Len praised the politician, telling him: “You’re getting better. You came down there [on the piano] and made Blackpool rock.”
Whilst Bruno said: “You are strangely addictive and to my surprise, most of it looked like a jive.”
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ returns on Sunday evening (20.11.16).

Nick Knowles' wife talks reconciliation

OHMYGOSSIP — Nick Knowles wanted to reconcile with his wife months ago.
The ‘DIY SOS’ host and Jessica Moor, who have two-year-old son Eddie together, split in January following four years of marriage but grew close again after they turned to each other when Jessica, 29, found out she had cervical cancer.
And while the pair have recently started dating again, Nick wanted them to get back together after Jessica’s diagnosis in June.
She told the Daily Mirror: “Nick and I are dating now. We are taking it slowly.
“We are getting to know each other again. In a way it feels like entering a new relationship. It is super-exciting. It is butterflies feelings, but with the added security of someone who has always been there for you.
“When we separated, we made a decision that was best for us at the time. It wasn’t a lack of love or respect.
“Nick made it clear that he wanted to be a family, back together. But I didn’t want to. To try and rebuild a marriage and relationship while dealing with cancer was too much.”
And they faced drama earlier this year when Nick, 54, came under fire for reportedly dumping former ‘Emmerdale’ star Gemma Oaten while they were in bed together and then getting back together with Jessica.
Taking to his Twitter account after Gemma lashed out at him in a newspaper interview, he said: “Life is not about what happens to you, it’s about how you deal with it. This year we faced a miscarriage, the break down of our marriage and cancer without being disrespectful about each other at any point. We are saddened for each other and for the sake of our young son that this is being played out so publicly.
“The story is something that happened (in the space of less than one week) during a turbulent, traumatic time and more to the point – whilst we were separated. It is unfortunate we are having to relive it purely so someone can financially gain from exploiting our private life.
“With everything that’s happened this year, even discussing this seems very trivial in comparison to what we have dealt with and are still dealing with. As always, our answer is united, as we are. We have enjoyed eight years as best friends and nothing will change that. (sic)”

Alan Carr envious of James Corden's success

OHMYGOSSIP — Alan Carr is jealous of James Corden’s success.
The chat show host admitted seeing the British star conquer America with ‘The Late Late Show’ has made him envious and he is lining up some high-profile guests for his own new UK primetime programme ‘Alan Carr’s Happy Hour’.
He told The Sun: “I’ve been getting a bit envious of James. We want to create that buzz. I’m going to America to film some stuff with a big star over there.”
Alan’s former show ‘Chatty Man’ is on an indefinite hiatus but he insists it was not axed.
He fumed: “The thing that p****s me off is that I’m really honest, so I would say it had been axed if it had been axed.
“I am not too proud to be axed, but it gives off the wrong impression because it wasn’t. I just wanted to do something different. I don’t know what I am going to get from two more series of a chat show because it’s the same old, same old.”
And the new primetime pre-watershed slot means Alan will have to make some drastic changes.
He quipped: “It’s a bit insulting that people are saying it’s tamer because it’s insinuating that I can’t do an hour’s show without getting hammered. I mean, it will be hard, but I can do it – and I will have a hip flask!”

Danny Dyer slams TOWIE stars

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Dyer has slammed ‘TOWIE’ stars as “Z-list p***ks”
The ‘EastEnders’ actor – who was involved in a bust-up with former ‘TOWIE’ star Mark Wright’s pals at V Festival earlier this year – blasted the stars of the reality TV show as “f***ing untalented”.
He told The Sun’s TV magazine: “All these Z-list p***ks – this TOWIE reality-TV mob just want fame. The ugliest thing. Then they get the fame and refuse to have photos with people as they get above their station.
“Then they want respect. You’re not going to get respect because you don’t have a f***ing talented bone in your body. Have your bit of f***ing fame, go and do your f***ing nightclub appearances in Kidderminster, but don’t expect to turn up at the BAFTAs.
“That f***s me off. They turn up at the BAFTAs and no one takes a blind bit of notice and they can’t bear it. We’re in a weird place at the moment with this fame s**t.
“It’s an obsession. The only downside to my job is the fame. I’ve got a responsibility, but I get it wrong and I say some stupid stuff. I’m an idol to people and I need to start acting like one, but I don’t know how to do that.”
The furious outburst comes after Danny claimed he was physically attacked by Mark’s pals at V Festival in August and he also alleged that one of the men turned on his 20-year-old daughter Dani.
Taking to his Twitter account to reply to Mark’s tweet, in which he declared he wasn’t part of the altercation, Danny asked him to name and shame his friends.
He wrote on his social networking site: “No.True. Where was ya?? Do you wanna declare who ya snakey 2 Bob mates are?? Especially the 1 squaring up to my Dani (sic).”
This isn’t the first time Mark and Danny, 39, have locked horns as the ‘Football Factory’ star recently claimed the 29-year-old reality TV star slapped him at a charity match for critically ill children earlier this year.

Adam Driver trained as a bus driver for his role in Paterson film

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Driver trained as a bus driver for his ‘Paterson’ film role.
The 32-year-old actor – who recently admitted he hates watching himself act on the big screen – has starred in numerous acclaimed movies, including playing main villain Kylo Ren in sci-fi blockbuster ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’.
But before he stepped on set to shoot scenes for his latest role – playing a 32-year-old bus driver and amateur poet in new film ‘Paterson’ – Driver made the decision to take bus driving lessons to help him convey the role as accurately as possible.
In an interview with The Daily Telegraph newspaper, he said: “I took a three-month course in New York, which is complicated, to parallel park, you know … In Queen’s the bus driver got very angry. He’s like, ‘There are stupid kids, they’re stupid because they’re ignorant, they haven’t developed yet.”
Speaking about why he decided to have bus driving lessons, Driver explained: “I decided to do it, on my own. It seemed like his (Paterson’s) physical life was very important. He has this very well-worn groove of a daily routine, so I didn’t want to be thinking about what button or handle to be using to drive a bus.”
Driver’s character lives his life by strict routine that follows the same pattern every day – which includes walking his dog to a bar for one beer every night – until a disaster threatens to wreck his happy life with his wife.
Driver will appear in two more ‘Star Wars’ sequels and his career is going from strength-to-strength but no matter how successful he becomes he is adamant he won’t let being a movie star change him.
He said: “Nothing’s going to change me, just because of working on a big movie. Nothing says, ‘OK now you have to be a different person.’ ”
Driver’s next project is depicting one of two Portuguese Jesuit priests in Martin Scorsese’s ‘Silence’, a role which required him to lose 30 lbs.

David Leitch to direct Deadpool 2

OHMYGOSSIP — David Leitch will direct ‘Deadpool 2’.
The ‘John Wick’ filmmaker has closed a deal to take up directorial duties for the sci-fi sequel after the shocking exit of former director Tim Miller, who dropped out of the project amid “creative differences” with lead star and producer Ryan Reynolds.
Leitch’s name reportedly first started circulating last month but producers were keen to meet with other candidates before anything was made public knowledge. Drew Goddard, Rupert Sanders and Mangus Martens were among the other names to be seen by the studio.
However, Leitch emerged victorious and will take on the project.
‘Deadpool 2’ has yet to be handed an official title or release date, but is being scripted by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who penned the first movie.
Despite the director drama, producer Simon Kinberg recently gave Marvel fans an insight into what they can expect from the new film, irrespective of who directs it.
He said of the sequel: “I think ‘Deadpool 2’ will comment on anything that’s happening in movies today especially in superhero movies. The sort of glut or saturation of these movies and the proliferation of sequels is definitely something we’ll play around with.”
Meanwhile, The Hollywood Reporter states that ‘Deadpool 3’ is already being planned but with another new director and that storyline will involve the X-team, X-Force.

Rosamund Pike had intoxicating upbringing

OHMYGOSSIP — Rosamund Pike was exposed to “mature ideas” as a child.
The 37-year-old actress found it “intoxicating” spending a lot of time backstage with her opera singer parents and always felt like she moved in an “adult world”.
Speaking of why she loves novel ‘The Go-Between’ by L.P. Hartley, she said: “I read this as a teenager and identified with the young boy, Leo. He goes to stay in a big house and thinks he’s in a world of gods and goddesses who are actually all of the grown-ups.
“Two of them, enraptured in a love affair, start using him as a go between.
“That feeling of moving in an adult world was familiar to me. My parents are opera singers and I spent a lot of time backstage.
“Opera deals with big, dramatic things – affairs of the heart, murder – so there was a wonderful exposure to very mature ideas.
“I was a fly on the wall – nothing inappropriate, but it was exciting for me to be around grown-ups and stay up late. I found it very intoxicating.”
The ‘A United Kingdom’ actress loves to read, but isn’t looking for escapism when she settles down with a good book.
She explained: “I’m not really looking for my novels to give me an escape into fantasy, I’ve always wanted reality.
“It’s linked to what I do as actor, getting into someone else’s head.”
Rosamund’s passion for the printed word began at a young age because she didn’t have a television in her parents’ home.
She told Britain’s ELLE magazine: “The Moomins and Enid Blyton were what got me into reading. We lived in a cottage in Lincolnshire for a while with no TV, so we’d sit by the fire with books or play cards.”
