Len Goodman thinks Ed Balls left at right time

OHMYGOSSIP — Len Goodman thinks it would have been an “injustice” if Ed Balls was still in ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 72-year-old head judge admits the former politician was a “fun” contestant on this year’s show but thinks it is right that he and dance partner Katya Jones bowed out from the competition last weekend as there are much better dancers left.
He said: “Poor old Ed, he was great, he was so much fun. I bumped into him just before we went on and I shouldn’t have said it, but I said, ‘You’ve been like a cat with nine lives, it’s week 10, its time.’
“We British love an underdog but we get to a point we know justice is more important and it would have been an injustice if one of those [other contestants] left and he had stayed.”
Len thinks the standard for this year’s competition is very high and he can’t figure out which of the remaining celebrity contestants, Ore Oduba, Danny Mac, Louise Redknapp, Judge Rinder, or Claudia Fragapane, will take the Glitterball Trophy.
But whoever takes the crown this year, Len – who is judging the series for the last time thinks they will be a worthy winner.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’, he said: “This is what’s great this year, usually I’ve got an idea, but should it be Louise, should it be Danny Mac, should it be Ore, Claudia, Judge Rinder? It’s so close. This is the first year I can hand on heart say that whoever wins is alright with me, because it’s been such a great series.”

The acting duo – who are best known as Kat and Alfie Moon on the BBC soap opera – are set to put their talents to the test on Channel 5 on December 20, when they will follow in the footsteps of the likes of David Walliams, Alesha Dixon, Carol Vorderman and Michelle Keegan.
Shane, 52 – who has enjoyed two seperate spells on ‘EastEnders’ – has enjoyed significant success in musicals during his career and he also had a number two hit in the UK in 2003, when he launched a cover version of Wham!’s ‘I’m Your Man’ for ‘Children in Need’.

Recently, Professor Green confirmed he will return for a second series of ‘Lip Sync Battle UK’.

Rhea Bailey: Coronation Street viewers call me evil

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Coronation Street’ star Rhea Bailey has been called “evil” by fans of the soap.
The 33-year-old actress stars as Caz Hammond – who is currently on the run after framing Maria Connor for her death – on the ITV show, and has revealed that some members of the public struggle to distinguish between her on-screen character and her real-life self.
She shared: “People are taking it really seriously which has massively surprised me. The other morning I was coming through the tube and somebody came up to me and said ‘You’re evil. you are’.
“I was like, ‘It’s 8 o’clock in the morning, what did I do?’ Then you suddenly realise they’re talking about a fictional character and I say, ‘Yeah, Caz is evil. There’s no way she should get away with that behaviour and all she’s been doing.’ It’s just too intense.”
Rhea admitted she was initially a little upset by the abuse she received from the public, but said it is something she has grown used to.
She told ‘This Morning’: “At first it did upset me a little because I wasn’t expecting it, I’m just doing my job and I’m doing exactly what the producers and directors asked me to do.
“But now I have to come to a place where I let it wash over me and realise that there’s only a few people who take it very seriously. Most people are really nice and sweet.”
Maria also revealed she is keen to see her on-screen character brought to justice.
She said: “I want justice just as much as the audience. I didn’t realise it was going to get this dark.
“I spend more time than I should talking to old ladies in the supermarket reassuring them that I’m really friendly. I wanted to prove to her that I’m not actually horrible and I’m nice.”

Len Goodman expects Strictly regrets

OHMYGOSSIP — Len Goodman thinks he’ll have regrets about quitting ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 72-year-old dance expert is to bow out from the judging panel this year after 12 years on the programme and though he knows he’ll miss the show, he thinks it’s right to go out on a high.
He said: “I’m sure when I’m sitting at home watching it on TV, I’ll turn to my old [wife] Sue and say, ‘Why didn’t I do it, I could have done that.’
“I’m sure Ill miss it but you make a decision that’s right at the time, and I’d rather go when people say, ‘Oh Len, it won’t be the same…’ rather than, ‘Thank heavens, that old fool’s getting doddery…’ ”
But just because Len is leaving ‘Strictly’, it doesn’t mean fans won’t be seeing him on screen any more.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’, he teased: “I’ve done 12 years and it felt like a good time to hang up my dancing shoes and pursuing other things if they come.”
Len insists he has “no input” into who his successor will be, but hopes producers choose a judge with knowledge of the ballroom and Latin worlds in order to complement the skills of the other panellists, Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood.
He said: “I will have no input, it’s all down to the producers but whoever they pick I’m sure will be the right choice.
“I hope it will be someone who has done ballroom and Latin because as good as the other judges are, I think the balance of the judges is terrific but you need one who has done ballroom and Latin and knows about heels and toes.”
And Len dismissed claims he is backing Helen Richey – who is a judge on Australia’s ‘Dancing With the Stars’ as his successor.
He explained: “I know her [but] I haven’t seen her for 40 years.
“I used to dance against her and her husband but I’ve never seen her critique anything, she’s on ‘Strictly’ in Australia, I haven’t seen her for 40 years so how would I know if shes good bad or whatever?
“I have no clue at all who it will be.”

Ola also said that she would like to have children with her husband.
She told The Sun newspaper: “We talked about our kids, having kids, wanting kids. We did talk about it.

Len also claimed he did not know who would replace him as head judge.
He said: “I can tell you no one knows who will replace me yet.
“The producers told me they have enough on their plates and will not decide until the new year after the series is over.”

Jordan Banjo: I've become a domesticated man

OHMYGOSSIP — Jordan Banjo feels like a “domesticated man” after his time on ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’.
The 23-year-old star of the dance troupe Diversity learned how to rustle up a tasty feast while in the Australian jungle and Jordan claims to be a changed man after his time on the programme.
He said: “I feel like a domesticated man now.”
At home, Jordan – who ordered a takeaway pizza as soon as he was evicted from the camp – relies on his girlfriend and his mum to look after him, and he admitted being on ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’ was a shock to his system.
He told ‘Good Morning Britain’: “I’ve got my mum who helps me out, I live across the road from her. I was wrapped in cotton wool – going into the jungle was a bit of a shock to the system.”
Jordan said special credit should go to his fellow campmates Lisa Snowdon and Larry Lamb for showing him how to cook.
The dancer explained: “I have Lisa and Larry to thank for telling me how to cook
“I had a bunch of other people teaching me how to wash up, hand wash my clothes in a river. It was a very different experience.”
Jordan – who left the popular ITV show after finding himself among the bottom two contestants with Martin Roberts – previously admitted to being overwhelmed by his experiences on the programme.
He said shortly after his exit: “The whole experience has been so overwhelming. To walk up that bridge is so surreal! Saying bye, I can’t believe it … they look so depressed without me!”

Paul Hollywood to open his first Knead bakery store in 2017

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Great British Bake Off’ judge Paul Hollywood is poised to open a bakery in London.
The 50-year-old TV star, who has reportedly doubled his salary by sticking with the former BBC One programme when it moves to Channel 4 next year, could be set to further increase his earnings in 2017 after he struck a deal with a firm to open a bakery.
Paul, who co-judged the baking on the popular show with Mary Berry, has now teamed up with the SSP Group, which runs outlets in airports and rail stations across the country, to create a bakery chain called Knead, according to The Times newspaper.
In an annual report for SSP, group boss Kate Swann said: “We continue to work with high profile chefs across the globe and have secured an agreement with Paul Hollywood to open a new bakery concept in the UK rail business during 2017.”
Paul is expected to design pastries for Knead in a bid to help the chain grow.
Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that ‘The Great British Bake Off’ will have a Christmas special on the BBC before it moves across to Channel 4 next year.
Bosses at the BBC, which has screened the programme since 2010, are planning to give the programme the send off it deserves by creating one last ‘The Great Christmas Bake Off’.

Lewis Bloor wants Marnie Simpson to leave Geordie Shore

OHMYGOSSIP — Lewis Bloor wants Marnie Simpson to leave ‘Geordie Shore’.
The former ‘Only Way is Essex’ hunk is concerned for his girlfriend – who was videoed visibly upset as she tried to leave a club to avoid producers last week – and though he respects what she wants to do, he thinks they have other priorities than just getting drunk.
He said: “I would love Marnie to never have to go back into the ‘Geordie Shore’ house because I love her.
“It’s her choice though – she’s my girlfriend and I support her.
“But she’s only 25, and her interests are elsewhere in life.
“We talk about how long until we actually start thinking about a family and what do we want to spend the next three years of our life doing.
“Do we want to be out drinking or do we want to be building a future.”
Lewis is planning a frank conversation with Marnie when her filming duties are complete and with the brunette beauty speaking recently about her health problems, he will “put his foot down” if he thinks she needs to leave for the sake of her wellbeing.
He said: “If I feel like she’s putting herself in harm’s way, then I will obviously put my foot down and say I’m not happy with the situation.
“Of she puts herself in harm’s way physically, emotionally and mentally, I am there to protect her, you know, so I will speak to her when she’s free and when she’s out of the house.”
Lewis also thinks Marnie is finding it tough having to share a house with ex-boyfriends Aaron Chalmers and Dan Clark.
He told heat magazine: “She’s got two of her exes cracking on with other girls and she’s drunk and can’t talk to me – that’s why she’s so upset.
“There’s only so much you can take and we all saw how upset she was so I just can’t wait to get her home.”

Bradley Cooper cast in Atlantic Wall

OHMYGOSSIP — Bradley Cooper has been cast in new World War II drama ‘Atlantic Wall’.
The Hollywood star is poised to play a US paratrooper who is operating behind enemy lines in the Gavin O’Connor-directed movie, which has been scripted by Zach Dean.
‘Atlantic Wall’ producer Dan Friedkin of Imperative Entertainment told Deadline: “We’re thrilled Imperative is bringing ‘Atlantic Wall’ to life on screen with a talented filmmaker like Gavin.
“Bradley’s phenomenal track record speaks for itself. He’s perfect to portray our complicated, often reluctant hero. We can’t imagine better creative partners.”
Bradley – who previously starred as a marksman in the controversial ‘American Sniper’ – is also executive producing the movie, which is based on a paratrooper who finds himself stranded behind enemy lines hours before D-Day.
He is charged with the task of delivering intelligence that is critical to the outcome of the war, while he is also trying to protect the son of a murdered ally.
Meanwhile, Bradley recently cited sobriety as the reason for his success.
The 41-year-old star has emerged as one of the most sought-after stars in Hollywood over the last decade, and Bradley – who stopped drinking in his late 20s – thinks the decision he made to transform his life was both “beautiful and unbelievable”.
He said: “I wouldn’t have been able to have access to myself or other people, or even been able to take in other people, if I hadn’t changed my life.
“I never would have been able to have the relationships that I do. I never would have been able to take care of my father the way I did when he was sick. So many things.”

Andrew Garfield left 'heartbroken' by Spider-Man character

OHMYGOSSIP — Andrew Garfield was left “heartbroken” by his Spider-Man character.
The 33-year-old actor – who played the superhero in 2012’s ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ followed by ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ in 2014 – was thrilled to play the famous Peter Parker and his alter ego, but became “heartbroken” after his dream role wasn’t what he imagined it would be.
Speaking of his experience as Spider-Man, Andrew said: “The story and the character were actually not the top of the priority list, ultimately.
“I found that really, really tricky. I signed up to serve the story, and to serve this incredible character that I’ve been dressing as since I was three, and then it gets compromised and it breaks your heart.
“I got heartbroken a little bit to a certain degree.”
The star also insisted that despite having years of acting experience, looking back on his time, he believed he may had been too young to play the iconic character.
Andrew – who was replaced by Tom Holland as Spider-Man – shared with Variety’s ‘Actors On Actors’ series: “There’s something about being that young in that kind of machinery which I think is really dangerous.
“I was still young enough to struggle with the value system, I suppose, of corporate America really, it’s a corporate enterprise mostly.”
Andrew’s frustrations have been echoed by Amy Adams, who stars as Lois Lane in the ‘Superman’ movies.
Amy admitted she struggles with the development of her on-screen character.
She said: “That’s the tricky thing with Lois, that I find is, I love playing her, I love everyone I work with, but sometimes it’s tricky because I feel she’s in service of the story instead of the story serving the character.
“That sometimes can be tricky when you show up and you really wanna retain a character and you have to serve the story … in a perfect universe they all work together.”

Ed Balls for Celebrity Big Brother?

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Balls has been tipped to appear on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.
The 49-year-old politician was only booted off ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ on Sunday (27.11.16) and is now odds on favourite at the bookmakers to join the Channel 5 show, which is due back on screens in January 2017.
According to The Sun newspaper, Coral have 10-1 on Ed appearing on the next series.
Meanwhile, the ballroom and Latin’s show’s judge Bruno Tonioli has said he’d love to see Ed star on the West End in a musical with controversial ‘X Factor’ rapper Honey G, who was also eliminated from the ITV show at the weekend.
The 61-year-old dance enthusiast thinks it would be like a scene from 1979 American war film ‘Apocalypse Now’.
Talking about Honey G – whose real name is Anna Georgette Gilford – requesting a dance-off with Ed in his column for Best magazine, he joked: “How hilarious that Honey G challenged Ed to a dance-off.
“Is she the best singer on ‘The X Factor? Absolutely not! But they’re both great fun.
“Gosh, imagine if they starred in a West End show together, it’d be like the ‘Apocalypse Now’ – they’d cause a revolution.”
Offering a dance battle, Honey G previously said: “I’d like to challenge Ed Balls to a dance off. Challenge me any day. He knows where I am!”
However, Ed was hesitant to accept the offer.
He later responded: “I’ve spent 10 weeks trying to avoid the dance-off – and so far I have.
“Look, the [Strictly] judges are pretty tough on me, so if I’m in a dance off then I’m out.
“I’m afraid, my answer is that I’m trying to avoid dance-offs at the moment.”

Mary Berry lands baking show role

OHMYGOSSIP — Mary Berry has landed a judging role on a baking show.
The former ‘Great British Bake Off’ star will appear on the programme’s US spin-off, ‘The Great American Baking Show’, on which 10 bakers battle it out over eight themed episodes featuring 24 challenges in a bid to be crowned the best baker.
My Big Fat Greek Wedding’s Nia Vardalos and husband Ian Gomez will host the American series, which will start with a two-hour premiere in the US on Thursday (01.12.16).
‘The Great American Baking Show’ is created by Love Productions, who sold the ‘Bake Off’ rights to Channel 4 after they outbid the BBC, leaving Mary to quit her role on the programme.
The former ‘Bake Off’ co-judge left the programme “out of loyalty” to the BBC following the news Channel 4 will air the show from next year.
Co-hosts Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins also the quit the programme, admitting they had no intention to “go with the dough”.
They said in a statement: “We were very shocked and saddened to learn yesterday evening that Bake Off will be moving from its home. We made no secret of our desire for the show to remain where it was.
The BBC nurtured the show from its infancy and helped give it its distinctive warmth and charm, growing it from an audience of two million to nearly 15 million at its peak.
We’ve had the most amazing time on Bake Off, and have loved seeing it rise and rise like a pair of yeasted Latvian baps.
We’re not going with the dough. We wish all the future bakers every success.”
However, Mary’s co-judge Paul Hollywood opted to remain on the show, signing a three-year deal with Channel 4.
The channel are thought to have splashed out around £75 million over three years for ‘Bake Off’, which will begin with a Stand Up To Cancer special next year.

Adam Driver's extreme weight loss for Silence

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Driver’s extreme weight loss for his role in ‘Silence’ made him deliver more powerful lines.
The 32-year-old actor – who portrays a 17th century Jesuit priest alongside Andrew Garfield in the Martin Scorsese drama – was so undernourished after losing more than 30 pounds that it made his scenes more realistic.
He explained: “You’re so hungry and so tired at some points that there’s nothing you can do – you’re not adding anything on top of what you’re doing. You only have enough energy to convey what you’re doing, so it’s great.”
Adam and his co-star Andrew Garfield, 33, had to continue to lose weight throughout the movie, which sees them travel for two years from Portugal to Macau and then onto Japan where they meet their mentor played by Liam Neeson.
However, it was sometimes hard to find the “energy” to deliver on set.
Adam told Interview magazine: “There are other times where a scene’s not working and you don’t have the energy to figure out why it’s not working.”
He added: “When the movie begins, the characters have been traveling for two years, from Portugal to Macau, sailed around Africa. There’s disease and shortage of food. “They’re already kind of depleted when they get to Macau before their last leg to Japan. There’s a lot of storytelling happening off camera.
“He ( Martin Scorsese) wanted to see that physically. He asked us to lose a lot of weight. I didn’t know how much that was going to be.”
Despite suffering from sleep deprivation and extreme hunger, Adam found the whole experience fascinating.
He said: “I can’t control what’s happening in scenes, but I could control when I ate food.
“And that visual part of the storytelling, I don’t think I’ve ever taken it to the extreme before. It’s an interesting thing.”
‘Silence’ hits screens in the US on December 23 and will be released worldwide in January.

Joaquin Phoenix in talks for John Callahan role

OHMYGOSSIP — Joaquin Phoenix is in talks to play cartoonist John Callahan in a new movie.
The 42-year-old actor looks set to team up with director Gus Van Sant once again on the forthcoming film, ‘Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far on Foot’, about the quadriplegic whose works were somewhat controversial.
According to Variety, Charles-Marie Anthonioz, Mourad Belkeddar, and Nicolas Lhermitte will produce the motion picture which has long been in development.
The movie will be based on the cartoonist’s autobiography of the same name and tells all about his life, including when he became paralysed aged just 21 after a car accident.
The artist – who died in July 2010 aged 59 – turned to drawing after the incident, holding a pen between both hands, and several of his subjects were considered taboo.
Some of his works appeared in his local Portland newspaper Willamette Week, but his cartoons would often lead to protests against the publication and boycotts.
Callahan started drinking alcohol aged 12 but later gave up at 27 following his car accident, which occurred while he was bar hopping.
The motion picture has long been talked about with the late Robin Williams previously thought to be in the frame to portray the cartoonist.
Phoenix and Van Sant worked together on 1995 comedy-drama movie ‘To Die For’, the actor’s breakthrough role as a leading character.

Jordan Banjo axed from I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

OHMYGOSSIP — Jordan Banjo has been eliminated from ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’.
The Diversity dancer – who is the brother of Ashley Banjo – has become the fourth campmate to get the boot from the creepy-crawly show after the public opted to save Scarlett Moffatt, Carol Vorderman, Wayne Bridge, Martin Roberts, Adam Thomas, Joel Dommett, Sam Quek and Larry Lamb.
Speaking to Ant and Dec after he was axed, he said: “The whole experience was so overwhelming, it was something I never thought I’d get the chance to do. I’m not joking, those guys in there is such a beautiful person and I can’t wait to see them when they get out.
“I’ve never seen a camp like it. It was sort of like a home away from home because every day I’m with a team. I thought it would be arguments and big egos but it hasn’t been anything like that.”
The 23-year-old hunk – who was persuaded to take part in the show by his brother and father – has spent the past two weeks in the jungle and has admitted it’s “heartbreaking” to say goodbye to his campmate Larry.
He explained: “It’s heartbreaking. Larry has been like a dad to me in there.”
Throughout his time in the Australian outback, Jordan has taken part in a series of gruelling challenges, which saw him come face-to-face with his biggest fear snakes, but he has admitted the trials haven’t dissolved his anxieties.
He said: “It just reaffirmed how scared i am of snakes. I was sort of like I don’t like snakes but if I came face-to-face with them, I’ll be able to handle it. But now I’ve come face-to-face to them, I know I don’t like snakes.”
Although he’s developed strong relationships with his fellow campmates, Jordan would love to see retired footballer Wayne take the crown next week.
