Gremlins 3 'definitely' in the works

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Gremlins 3’ is “definitely” in the works.
Zach Galligan, who played Billy Peltzer in the first two movies in the franchise, has confirmed Warner Bros. are well up for the motion picture and he insists filmmaker Chris Columbus is “aggressively working” on the forthcoming film.
He said: “He has been aggressively working on a ‘Gremlins 3’ that takes place in present day. He tantalisingly says there will be some new characters and some old characters – I guess in the style of a ‘Force Awakens’ type sequel – One thing we know for sure is they have a writer on board.
“Warner Bros definitely wants it, Chris Columbus wants to do it because he’d like to undo the ‘Gremlins 2’ thing as he wasn’t thrilled with it and Spielberg wants to do it I imagine – because he’s Spielberg – and why wouldn’t he want to do it.
“Once he’s found the right script he can attach his name and make a ton of money. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.”
Galligan insists Columbus “regrets” not working on ‘Gremlins 2’ but he has since “wrestled control back” on the third movie in the franchise.
He added to Bleeding Cool: “I think you can tell what’s happening with ‘Gremlins 3’ the same way you could tell with ‘Gremlins 2’.
“It’s the same people and they tend to work the same way. There is a huge time gap but it’s Warner Bros, Spielberg and Chris Columbus.
“Now, Chris Columbus didn’t have anything to do with ‘Gremlins 2’ – because by his own admission he didn’t see a franchise.
“He kind of regrets it I believe, but he was ‘one and done’ I don’t think he cared for ‘Gremlins 2’ and the direction some of the characters went in, so he’s kind of wrested control back.
“Everything I’m quoting is stuff he’s publicly said, ‘There will never be a remake, there will never be a reboot there will only be a sequel.’ ”
The original comedy horror movie – which also starred Phoebe Cates and Corey Feldman – was released in 1984 and saw Galligan’s young character receive a strange created called a mogwai which spawns evil monsters.
‘Gremlins 2′ dropped in 1990 and told the story of the creatures’ return as they take over a media mogul’s building.

Kathleen Kennedy hints at female Star Wars director

OHMYGOSSIP — LucasFilm has “every intention” of hiring female filmmakers for ‘Star Wars’ movies.
Kathleen Kennedy, who is the chief of the production company, has insisted they are on the lookout for the right directors for future projects and wouldn’t turn down a woman if she had the correct credentials to do the job.
During a press conference in San Francisco to promote new movie ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’, she said: “I, as you can imagine, have every intention of giving somebody an opportunity.
“So, if somebody actually moves through the process of making movies and wants to make a ‘Star Wars’ movie, and shows that they have actually stepped into the role on that level, of course we are going to consider a woman.
“That goes without saying.”
This comes after Kennedy was slammed for appearing to say she didn’t think there were any female directors with enough experience to helm a ‘Star Wars’ movie.
She recently said: “We want to make sure that when we bring a female director in to do ‘Star Wars’ they’re set up for success.
“They’re gigantic films, and you can’t come into them with essentially no experience.
“We want to really start to focus in on people we would love to work with and see what kinds of things they’re doing to progress up that ladder now, and then pull them in when the time is right.”
‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ is helmed by Gareth Edwards, while last year’s ‘Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens’ was directed by J.J. Abrams, and next year’s ‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’ will be made by Rian Johnson.

Emily Middlemas bonded with Eric

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Middlemas bonded with Simon Cowell’s son Eric.
The ‘X Factor’ contestant – who was given the boot from the competition in Sunday (04.12.16) night’s show – believes she had such a close bond with her mentor because his two-year-old toddler, who he has with his partner Lauren Silverman, loved her.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’ on Monday (05.12.16), she said: “We (me and Simon) got on well and I think it’s because I had a really good connection with his son Eric.
“In rehearsal Eric came and sat next to me and he had these headphones on and was swaying side-to-side and Simon was like, ‘Was that OK Eric?’ And he was like, ‘Yep!’ ”
The 18-year-old wannabe singer may not have made the final but she secured a place on the show’s tour, which kicks off in February, and is looking forward to Christmas.
She said: “I love Christmas songs so I’m very excited and I can’t wait for the tour, I’ve never been on a massive tour before, I’m so excited, it’s going to be amazing.”
Emily has been flooded with support since she joined the show back in the summer, and one person who has been her biggest fan is her boyfriend Ryan Lawrie.
The handsome star – who was also given the chop from the competition two weeks ago – took to his Twitter account to declare his love for the brunette beauty just before the judges – Louis Walsh, Sharon Osbourne and Nicole Scherzinger – opted to save her rival Matt Terry and put him through to next week’s final and give her the boot.
He wrote: “I am the proudest boyfriend ever. You have achieved so much. You are a beautiful person and have an amazing future ahead. #EmilyWeLoveYou (sic).”

Scarlett Moffatt to quit Gogglebox

OHMYGOSSIP — Scarlett Moffatt is planning to quit ‘Gogglebox’.
The 26-year-old reality TV star – who made a name for herself watching television with her family – will reportedly decide to bow out of the programme now that she’s been crowned queen of the ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ jungle in Sunday (04.12.16) night’s show and is set to rake in “millions of pounds” from TV deals.
Scarlett’s mother Betty told The Sun newspaper: “If we don’t go back [to ‘Gogglebox’, we don’t. That’s up to Channel 4. It’s opened a lot of doors for Scarlett and has enabled her to achieve some of her dreams. There’s no negative. The thing I’ve enjoyed most is getting to spend time with her every week. She’s not a celebrity, she’s just our Scarlett.”
Although it’s believed the brunette beauty’s career will explode following her stint in the jungle, Betty and her husband Mark don’t think their daughter will let the success go to her head and will remain very “grounded” once she returns to the UK this week.
Betty – who works at a clothes store – explained: “She’s very grounded and I hope she’ll always stay like that. She just watches TV. She’s a normal girl.”
Producers from different channels have been watching Scarlett since she entered the jungle three weeks ago and have been in touch with her management about future television shows as they believe her witty one-liners will rake in viewers.
A source said recently: “There has even been talk of her fronting her own TV show.
“Scarlett will be ecstatic. She went into the jungle in the hope that it would lead to TV work. This is her chance to go from someone known for watching TV on her sofa to someone known for being on TV in her own right.”
And it’s not just television work that has come off the back of the jungle, as it’s thought Scarlett has also been offered a publishing deal to pen her own autobiography.

Joel Dommett 'cuts people out of his life' after jungle stint

OHMYGOSSIP — Joel Dommett has “cut so many people out” of his life since he went into the ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ jungle last month.
The 30-year-old comedian – who came runner up in Sunday (04.12.16) night’s show after Scarlett Moffatt took the crown – has admitted the three weeks he spent in the Australian outback has given him time to re-evaluate who he interacts with on a day-to-day basis and his given him the courage to axe the people he longer wants around him.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’ on Monday (05.12.16), she said: “You have time to think. You don’t have a phone, you don’t have distractions, there’s no news, there’s no wonderful morning television so you just sit there and you think. You just think about all the people you love, all the people you hate, it’s wonderful – I’ve cut so many people out of my life.”
Once he left the jungle, Joel – who won a three-course meal on Saturday (03.12.16) with two drinks and a treat – stuffed his face with two cheese cakes and had a meat feast.
The hunk – who has lived on a diet of rice and beans for three weeks – explained: “I’ve eaten two cheese cakes and a steak and chips. I had a shower, I got out the shower and then I got dressed and then I just got back in the shower again.”
And Joel is expecting his career to catapult following his successful stint on the show and can’t wait to get back to the UK to pick up his comedy act again.
He said: “I’m to exploit it terribly. I’m very busy, I’m touring at the moment. I’m very excited just to get back and do some comedy and hopefully I’ll get enough money to buy David Beckham’s house (the mansion he’s selling for £24 million in Los Angeles).”

Ryan Thomas sparks I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! fix storm

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Thomas’ brother Ryan thinks ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’ is fixed.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ actor lashed out at the creepy-crawly show after his 28-year-old sibling finished third place in Sunday (04.12.16) night’s finale, despite proving a huge hit with viewers over the past three weeks he’s been in the jungle.
Taking to his Twitter account after it was revealed Scarlett Moffatt – who went on to win the show – and Joel Dommett had made it to first and second place, Ryan fumed: “Not having it!!!! Absolutely gutted!!! Doesn’t make sense!!! (sic)”
The 32-year-old hunk subsequently retweeted a series of messages from his celebrity pals and fans of the show that supported Adam.
‘Coronation Street’ star Tina O’Brien wrote: “Are you actually kidding me?! @adamthomas21 didn’t win! UGHH at least he gets to be with his family (sic)”
And former Blue singer Antony Costa explained: “Thought it was a no brainer fella…your bro has done so well though (sic)”
But the girlfriend of Ryan and Adam’s brother Scott, Kady McDermott, went one step further by claiming the programme was fixed from the beginning.
She wrote in a now-deleted post: “Fix. Good night. (sic)”
She later added: “They knew their winner before the show even started… Anyway he’s the winner in our eyes he did AMAZING!!!! #KingAdam. (sic)”
Meanwhile, Scarlett may have lifted the crown but she has found herself in hot water after she claimed she had a severe phobia of small spaces – even though there are numerous photographs of her standing in a confined lift on her Instagram page.
During her time in the Australian jungle, Scarlett said she hoped that her final Bushtucker trial would help her get over her fear.
But as she was covered in creepy crawlies during her final trial, the ‘Gogglebox’ star said: “I can feel myself getting upset.
“But I feel if I can do this I might finally be able to go in lifts because I was on the 34th floor out here and I walked the stairs because I can’t stand small spaces.”

Alan Carr wants to host the Eurovision Song Contest

OHMYGOSSIP — Alan Carr wants to host the ‘Eurovision Song Contest’.
The 40-year-old comedian is desperate to take over from current host Graham Norton – who has fronted it since 2009 – next year as he believes he would be able to do the commentating job just as good and he’d have great fun.
He told the Daily Star newspaper: “I really want to emulate Graham Norton in terms of mainstream appeal. He can talk to people like Joan Collins about vaginas and then he can go and do ‘Eurovision’. I could do that. It would be so much fun.”
His new dream to commentate the show, which sees countries in Europe battle against one another in a singing competition, comes just months after his famous chat show ‘Alan Carr: Chatty Man’ was axed from Channel 4 after it was struggling to pull in as many viewers as its rival chat show ‘The Graham Norton Show’.
After learning that his programme was being given the boot, Alan admitted he’d love to “try something different” and doesn’t just want to be known for doing a chat show.
He said: “I don’t want, when this ends next year is all I’ve done is a chat show. I want to try new things, so I want to try something a bit different.
“Booking three guests on a Wednesday, you’ve got to have three guests on the sofa and it’s just getting harder and harder.”
However, although some fans were sad to hear that ‘Chatty Man’ had been taken off air, the host – who is known for his high-pitched voice – reassured viewers recently that he’d come back to the screens with spin-off show ‘Alan Carr: Happy Hour’.
Alan is hoping the new format will attract a younger audience and has ditched the in-depth interviews and alcohol shots with his celebrity guests for games with an interactive studio audience.
It’s first episode was aired on Friday (02.12.16) and featured guests Rebel Wilson, Honey G and James Arthur.

Tony Gardner contracted Zika virus filming Death in Paradise

OHMYGOSSIP — Tony Gardner contracted the Zika virus while filming ‘Death in Paradise’ in the summer.
The 52-year-old actor – who is also a qualified doctor – fell unwell while shooting the next series of the detective drama in Guadeloupe, an island group in the southern Caribbean Sea, in August and believes the show could have been the culprit for “quite a lot” of the 265 Britons, who were infected, picking up the contagious disease.
Speaking in a podcast hosted by Sean Hughes, he said: “Quite a lot of them, possibly, come from the group of people that go out to Guadeloupe for six months a year to film.”
However, the ‘Last Tango In Halifax’ star is convinced he’s to blame for picking up the Zika virus – a disease spread by infected mosquitoes biting humans – because he was too lax on his repellent while he was on the island for two weeks.
He explained: “In retrospect I should have been more aggressive with the repellent. About a couple of hours before I flew out, I got a rash. And then for a week I wasn’t particularly well with joint pain and swelling, didn’t like the light, I just felt pretty rough.”
The Zika virus is harmful for pregnant women or people wanting to start a family because it has been linked to severe birth defects and, in particular, small heads.
Tony – who has a daughter – said: “It’s not a problem for me because I’ve finished my family. It’s quite dangerous for people getting pregnant or men starting families.”
The actor – who no longer practices as a doctor – has also hinted that his infected colleagues who helped shoot the series may become part of a medical case study.
He said: “Part of the study my friend’s hopefully going to do is talking about this and the symptoms and how long they last. It’s an ongoing thing and a very newish disease.”
Although a small number of the cast contracted the virus, a spokesperson for the production team is adamant insect repellent was on hand at all times while filming.

Matthew McConaughey wants more comic roles

OHMYGOSSIP — Matthew McConaughey wants to make more comedies.
The Oscar-winning actor was largely known for his work on light-hearted love tales such as ‘Fool’s Gold’, ‘How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days’ and ‘Failure to Launch’ in the 2000s, before finding critical acclaim with his later movies like ‘Killer Joe’, ‘Dallas Buyers Club’ and ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’.
And while Matthew doesn’t know if he’ll go back to making romances again, he does want to make people laugh with his work.
He said “I usually don’t my make choices reacting on thinking what someone might want. I mean there’s plenty of great escapism out there. I’ve been trying to choose things that turn me on, and comedy does turn me on.
“So I’m looking forward to doing more comedy again. I don’t know if it’s going to be a romantic comedy, but all comedy interests me, and I want to make them again.”
The 47-year-old star – who has children Levi, eight, Vida, six, and Livingston, three, with wife Camila Alves – next features in ‘Sing’, in which he voices koala Buster Moon, and admitted both this role and his other most recent project, stop-motion family fantasy ‘Kubo and the Two Strings’, have impressed his kids.
He told Vanity Fair: “Part of the reason why I wanted to do animated films was to make something that my kids can see.
“I have been looking for something animated for years and actually never got hired. This came along at the right time. I’ve got three kids, and I love watching them watch animated movies. I pick up at what they laugh at, and I note it down.
“Doing ‘Kubo’ and ‘Sing’, I’ve got a little more clout around the house.”

Judge Rinder tips Louise Redknapp to win Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Judge Rinder has tipped Louise Redknapp to win ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 38-year-old television personality narrowly missed out on a place in the BBC One latin and ballroom show’s semi-final after fellow contestant Ore Oduba won the dance-off on Sunday (04.12.16), but has said he’d love to see the 42-year-old singer and her professional dance partner Kevin Clifton take home the glitterball trophy.
He told The Sun newspaper: “I’ve made such amazing friends that I would be happy if any of them went on to win it.
“But I think Louise has the most to gain after coming out of her shell and growing in confidence.”
Louise and Kevin have been at the top end of the leaderboard for most of the competition with their biggest rivals being ‘Hollyoaks’ star Danny Mac and his dance partner Oti Mabuse.
Meanwhile, after leaving the competition, Rinder said: “I honestly don’t know what to say, every single person involved in this programme has so much love for it and that permeates through the screen. It’s a joy to be here, every single person, there’s too many people to thank but I even want to thank the judges. I know how difficult it is sometimes to be a judge and you do it with authenticity and enthusiasm and thank you all for your comments.
“And my last thank you and my most important one is to this truly extraordinary person, this teacher that has shown me from somebody who could barely walk to music with no dance experience at all, to find a passion and a love for dance and that’s the best kind of teaching. You are never too old to try something new and everyone should try dancing, thank you so much.”
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ returns on Saturday December 10, where the remaining celebrities will have to do two dances in a bid to impress the judges.

Joel Dommett 'dreaming' of moving to Australia

OHMYGOSSIP — Joel Dommett has been “dreaming” of moving to Australia permanently after his stint in ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’.
The 30-year-old comedian was named as the runner-up in the jungle-based reality show during Sunday’s (04.12.16) final, and has expressed an interest in leaving the UK behind for good as he believes he can make a name for himself in Melbourne.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Joel has been dreaming about a move to Oz because he thinks he can carve a name for himself out there.
“He’s also weighing up areas in New Zealand too.”
And it wasn’t just his time in the Australian wilderness that made Joel want to relocate, as before entering the jungle he expressed his love for Melbourne’s comedy festivals.
He said: “I have a lot of fondness for Melbourne and its comedy festivals.
“I would love to keep going back and just seeing what happens. That’s my focus now.”
Joel came in second place, beating ‘Emmerdale’ actor Adam Thomas, but falling short of ‘Gogglebox’s Scarlett Moffatt who was named Queen of the Jungle.
Of his time on ‘I’m A Celeb’, he said: “I knew it was going to be a good experience. I didn’t think the highs would be so high and the lows would be so low. It was incredible. I’m going to miss the simplicity of it. It’s so simple in there.”
And the star also claimed facing his fear of heights in his first Bushtucker Trial – which involved him walking out on a plank on top of a sky scraper – was the “hardest” part of the show.
He said: “The first one was definitely the hardest. I took two steps in and it was the closest I came to, in the whole show, to saying I need to stop this. But then that helped with the rest of the experience.”

George Lucas approves of Rogue One

OHMYGOSSIP — George Lucas has given his seal of approval to ‘Rouge One: A Star Wars Story’.
The 72-year-old ‘Star Wars’ creator has seen the second film in the sci-fi blockbuster franchise to be released since he sold Lucasfilm to Disney in 2012 and “liked” it very much, according to director Gareth Edwards.
The 41-year-old ‘Godzilla’ filmmaker, who took over from J.J. Abrams, was overjoyed with Lucas’ reaction as his opinion is the “most important” to him and it now means he can die a “happy’ man.
Speaking at a recent press conference, he said: “Two days ago we got to show George the more, and we all had a phone call and I got to speak with him yesterday, and I don’t want to put words into his mouth, but I can honestly say that I can die happy now.
“He really liked the movie. It meant a lot. To be honest, and no offence to anyone here, it was the most important review to me.
“You know, you guys are important too, but he’s kind of god … I will take that conversation to my grave. His opinion means the world to me.”
‘Rogue One’ follows ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’, which Lucas wasn’t a big fan of because it was too “retro”.
He previously admitted: “They wanted to do a retro movie. I don’t like that. I like — every movie, I worked very hard to make them completely different, with different planets, with different spaceships — you know, to make it new.”
‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ hits cinemas on December 14 and stars the likes of Felicity Jones, Diego Luna and Mads Mikkelsen.

Adam Thomas places third on I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Thomas has placed third on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’.
The ‘Emmerdale’ star has been booted off the ITV show, leaving Scarlett Moffatt and Joel Dommett to battle it out to be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle.
Speaking to hosts Ant and Dec after his exit, he said: “I’m just happy I got this far. I didn’t expect to get to the final so this is just unbelievable … What an experience. I wouldn’t change any of it for the world. It was just laughter after laughter. The two left in there [Scarlett and Joel] deserve it so much.
“It’s been a lot tougher than expected; I never thought it would be that tough. You have your up days and your down days. At the beginning, I found it really tough but as the days went on, it became easier. I can’t believe I got to the final three. It’s unbelievable. I was in there from the start and I’m in there ’til the end.”
Whilst he was in the jungle, Adam took part in no less than 11 Bushtucker trials where he managed to earn a whopping 49 stars.
Asked which trial was the worst, he shared: “I didn’t expect to do two or one. Each one got worse and worse but I just faced every fear possible. The last one I did was horrible; it was the fact the spiders were right there. I was just waiting for them to come in at the last minute but I did it and I got all the stars.”
Adam got on really well with all his campmates and gushed about his bromance with Joel but he is rooting for Scarlett to win.
He added: “I think everyone got on. I came in here wanting a bromance and I got one with every one of the boys in there – to Wayne, to Jordan, to Joel. To go in with Joel and to be with him in the final, I wish him all the luck …
“Scarlett watched it from such a long age and for her to win it and become Queen of the Jungle, she deserves it.”

Scarlett Moffatt wins I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here

OHMYGOSSIP — Scarlett Moffatt has won ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’.
The ‘Gogglebox’ star has been handed the Queen of the Jungle title, beating comedian Joel Dommett to the crown.
Speaking after her win, she said: “I feel dizzy. I can’t believe it, oh my god. Never did I ever think this would happen. Oh my god.”
Before receiving her flower crown from last year’s winner Vicky Pattison, the 26-year-old television personality spoke to hosts Ant and Dec about her experience in the jungle.
She told them: “I might be the only person whoever says this – but I wish I could do it all again. It’s just amazing. It’s beyond any [expectations] that I thought. I’ve never felt so happy, which is weird because I hate camping. I’m not going to miss sleeping in a hammock but I’m going to miss waking up and hearing everyone chatting. It’s just been amazing …
“It’s been a massive learning curve; I feel like I need to have more confidence in myself because I doubt myself constantly. Doing the trials and stuff, I feel like a much more confident person coming on here. I didn’t expect it to have any life effects on me, I just thought it was going to be really fun.”
During her time on the show, Scarlett got to take part in her favourite ever Bushtucker trial, Celebrity Cyclone, and admits it was something on her bucket list.
She shared: “It was on my bucket list after meeting you two [Ant and Dec]. Some people dream of winning a million pounds but mine was doing the Cyclone. It was so good. All my life, I was waiting for this and I couldn’t get out the trench. And all of them were spinning around like, ‘C’mon Scarlett! You can do it!'”
Meanwhile, second placed Joel faced one of his biggest fears early on in the show when he had to walk out on a plank on top of a skyscraper.
Speaking about that particular trial, he said: “The first one was definitely the hardest. I took two steps in and it was the closest I came to, in the whole show, to saying I need to stop this. But then that helped with the rest of the experience.”
Referring to his general experience in the jungle, he added: “I knew it was going to be a good experience. I didn’t think the highs would be so high and the lows would be so low. It was incredible. I’m going to miss the simplicity of it. It’s so simple in there.”
