Dame Helen Mirren felt 'enlightened' by Alan Rickman's memorial

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Helen Mirren thinks Alan Rickman taught her how to “be a better person”.
The Oscar-winning actress was a good friend of the ‘Harry Potter’ star, who passed away in January 2016, and Dame Helen said attending his memorial service was a learning experience.
The 71-year-old star explained: “I’m of an age now that I start going to more memorials.
“My darling friend Alan Rickman died last year; I went to his memorial, great actor. The wonderful Garry Marshall, the most brilliant, incredible American producer of television and movies.
“These were such great people, so when you go to their memorial, it’s so inspiring, and also very fun, because there’s always a lot of very funny stories.
“Of course you feel sad that you’ve lost your beloved friend or colleague, but you also feel so enlightened and joyful and energised about this beautiful life that this person has led.”
Dame Helen said she makes a conscious effort to take something positive out of each memorial she attends.
She told the US talkshow ‘The View: “It teaches you. I’m a great believer in learning, life is a constant learning curve, really, so I learn from these people’s lives, and I think you learn how to be a better person.
“You think, ‘Wow, what an amazing life,’ (when you read their obituaries), so you can have an amazing life and in a weird way, death is the thing that reveals the amazingness of that life.”

Nadia Sawalha wears anti-leakage panties

OHMYGOSSIP — Nadia Sawalha wears anti-leakage panties.
The ‘Loose Women’ panellist has been forced to ditch her kinky lingerie for thicker knickers as she found herself limiting her daily activities out of fear she’d wet herself.
Speaking to the Metro newspaper, the 51-year-old television presenter – who is promoting incontinence products – said: “Depend, which makes incontinence products, did a survey among women, covering any kind of leakage from a few drops to a full-on gush. It found 40 per cent of women aged 45 to 65 experience some form of it, including me. I talk about everything on ‘Loose Women’ but I don’t feel comfortable talking about it, so if I find it difficult, goodness knows what other people feel like.
“I ran two marathons but stopped because I didn’t want to risk a leakage – but I now have new underwear and I can do whatever I like. Mine (the incontinence) came from giving birth to two children, so why should there be shame in that?”
The cork-screw-curled star – who has daughters Maddie, 13, and Kiki, seven, with her husband Mark Adderley – has taken up Pilates to help with her pelvic muscles.
She explained: “If you carry more weight you put more pressure on your pelvic floor. I do Pilates, pelvic floor exercises, but I damaged my pelvic floor when I was pregnant so will always experience some level of incontinence – but it comes and goes.”

Emma Watson changes film agency representatives

OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Watson has changed her film representatives.
The 26-year-old actress has parted ways with her US agency William Morris Endeavor and will now be represented by Creative Artists Agency, but will still stay under the management of Untitled Entertainment.
Emma’s biggest on-screen role has seen her play Hermione Granger throughout the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise from 2001 until 2011.
Her next character will see Emma star in a more elegant light – as she is set to bring Disney favourite Princess Belle from ‘Beauty and the Beast’ to live-action, which comes to cinema screens in March 2017.
The upcoming reboot of the 1991 classic will also include Dan Stevens, who will play the beast, Ian McKellen as Cogsworth and Luke Evans as Gaston, and the much-anticipated adaptation will be helmed by ‘Twilight’ director Bill Condon.
Emma previously said: “We created a backstory for [Belle], which was that she had invented a kind of washing machine, so that, instead of doing laundry, she could sit and use that time to read instead. So, yeah, we made Belle an inventor.”
The actress is also set to star in the upcoming tech thriller ‘The Circle’ alongside Tom Hanks and ‘Star Wars’ actor John Boyega.
Emma is, in fact, currently among the most in-demand actresses in Hollywood, despite quitting the movie business for a year after making ‘Regression’.
She said at the time: “I’m taking a year away from acting to focus on two things.
“My own personal development is one. My own personal task is to read a book a week and also to read a book a month as part of my book club. One thing I am going to do that I’ve been working on for a while is completing my yoga Level 3 meditation for teaching.”

Vin Diesel hints at standalone movie starring Groot and Rocket Racoon

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ director James Gunn is pushing to make a standalone movie with Groot and Rocket Racoon.
The 46-year-old Hollywood heavyweight – who helmed the popular comic book film in 2014 and is returning for next year’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ – is eager to turn his attention to a standalone movie starring two of the most popular characters in the franchise, according to Vin Diesel, who voices Groot.
Vin – who plays the tree-like humanoid in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ – explained to ScreenJunkies News: “I think if it’s up to James Gunn, you’re going to see a Groot/Rocket movie after ‘Avengers: Infinity War’. It’s highly possible. We shall see.
“I know that somewhere in the universe you’re going to see Groot and Hulk battle, I know it. I see that you’re going to see that poster, Groot versus Hulk.”
This comes shortly after Chris Pratt, who stars as Peter Quill in the franchise, revealed he “ripped open some wounds” while filming ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’.
The 37-year-old actor was coping with the death of his father during the production process in 2014 and he confessed it made making the movie difficult.
He said: “The truth is I ripped open some wounds that had been healing for some time. And I didn’t want to. But I knew it was right for the moment …
“There are wounds that are never going to be totally healed. It would probably make for a better story if it was some emotional thing that I hadn’t dealt with … When we face the death of a parent, you sometimes feel regret that you didn’t fully embrace what you had.”

Matt Terry to sing with James Arthur on The X Factor

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Terry is to duet with James Arthur on ‘The X Factor’ this weekend.
The 28-year-old star had initially been lined up by the show’s boss Simon Cowell to sing with his act Emily Middlemas before she was eliminated from the show last weekend, but it seems bosses are still keen to have the former winner on the programme as he’s now been switched to perform with Nicole Scherzinger’s boy.
The collaboration will see James reunite with Nicole, who masterminded his triumph on the series in 2012, and could also boost Matt’s hopes of following in his footsteps.
Elsewhere, ‘X Factor’ front-runner Saara Aalto – mentored by Sharon Osbourne – and ‘American Idol’ star Adam Lambert are set to team up for Saturday’s (10.12.16) live show, while 5 After Midnight – Louis Walsh’s one remaining act – are being lined up to perform with The Weeknd, according to The Sun newspaper.
It has been confirmed, too, that all of this year’s finalists, including rapper Honey G, are set to return to the programme for a last group performance.
Meanwhile, Simon, who does not have any contestants left on the show, compared Matt’s on-stage performance at the weekend to a “butter-less sandwich.”
Matt opened the show with a unique version of the traditional Christmas carol ‘Silent Night’ – but his performance failed to impress the outspoken music mogul.
Simon said: “I thought it was, um, nice. I thought it was a bit predictable. It was a little bit – until the end when you hit the high note – it was like having a sandwich without the butter.”
Simon’s criticisms continued when Matt took to the stage later in the night to sing his second song, Jessie Ware’s ‘Say You Love Me’.
He said: “I really like you but I don’t think tonight’s been your best night. It sounded like the track had overtaken you. This, for me, was bland.”

EastEnders to have Christmas death

OHMYGOSSIP — EastEnders’ Lee Carter will contemplate throwing himself off the Queen Victoria pub this Christmas after his debts begin to mount and he starts to cave from the guilt.
The insurance sales assistant – portrayed by Danny-Boy Hatchard – has been lying for months about his job and his income but, after he arranges for his manipulative colleagues to fake a robbery at his family’s boozer to help him pay for his bills, Lee sinks into deeper depression and considers ending his life once and for all.
A soap source explained: “It’s pretty clear that Lee is at the end of his tether.”
As the interest on his payday loans start to grow, Lee struggles to face his wife Whitney (Shona McGarty) but, oblivious to their financial mess, the barmaid is convinced her husband’s sadness is down to him regretting getting hitched to her last month.
An insider said: “These two should be looking forward to a wonderful first Christmas as a married couple, but instead they are miserable as sin. Whitney can’t understand why Lee is so unhappy, and she’s worried he regrets getting married. She’s doing everything to make this a perfect family festive season but nothing seems to help Lee.”
When Lee’s father Mick (Danny Dyer) finds his severely depressed son sitting on top of his friendly boozer, panic spreads through his bones and he rushes to comfort him.
The source told Inside Soap magazine: “Mick’s terrified for him. They’ve been here before with Lee, and they know just how dark his depression can get. The trouble is that if the lad won’t open up about what’s really going on, nobody can help him. But given how many lies Lee has told, it’ll take a lot to confess everything now.”

Carol McGiffin's sister has terminal cancer

OHMYGOSSIP — Carol McGiffin’s sister has been diagnosed with terminal cancer.
The 56-year-old presenter – who was given the all-clear from the disease less than a year ago – is devastated her little sibling Tracy has been told the lump she found in her breast three months ago isn’t treatable because it’s already spread through her body.
Carol – who lost her mother to lung cancer 13 years ago – told Best magazine: “I don’t think Tracy wants to know how long she has left, although the doctors could probably say. We’re in uncharted water, but she’s trying to be positive. We all are.”
Tracy admitted she was initially sceptical of telling her sister about the lump in her breast because she thought she would get criticised for “copying” her – again.
Tracy explained: “When I found a lump in my left breast this August, I actually thought ‘Here we go. I’m copying her again’. How I wish that were true. I know that, for once in her life, my sister would have given anything for me to have copied her. But, despite the devastating news, and for as long as I have left, we have grown closer.”
Despite her prognosis, Tracy still has to undergo chemotherapy every few weeks as doctors want to slow down how quickly the cancer takes control of her body.
But she’s not letting her illness or her treatment stop her from completing her bucket list as she’s determined to have a spectacular last Christmas with her loved ones.
Carol said: “Let’s just say that my Christmas wish is for my sister to have the best time ever, and to really make the most of the time she has left, because, above all, I don’t want her to have any regrets.”

Tom Hardy: I’ve always felt like a naughty boy

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Hardy thought he was too “naughty” to be nominated for an Oscar. The 39-year-old star received a Best Supporting Actor nomination for his role in ‘The Revenant’ and although he ultimately lost out to Mark Rylance, Tom admitted it was a bonus to even be considered.

He said: “I don’t think I ever expected to be welcomed to one of those events.”

Tom has battled drug and alcohol addictions, and admitted he never considered himself to be in contention for a coveted gong. He told Esquire magazine: “I always felt like a bit of a naughty boy, and I always thought part of me would be like: ‘Nah’. And then actually I was like, ‘Oh yeah! I’ll have a sniff of that.”

Earlier this year, Tom admitted that having kids made him “get [his] act together” and stop thinking about himself. The actor changed his life after the birth of his son Louis, who he has with ex-girlfriend Rachael Speed.

Tom – who also has a 14-month-old child with wife Charlotte Riley – said: “I wouldn’t say it saved my life, but it definitely changed my life. “That was when the penny dropped that there was no longer very much time for me to think about myself any more – about what I might like to do or who I want to be – because there is somebody now on the planet who really needs me to get my act together and focus on something that is more important than me. And when I go home, I am not Tommy the actor, I am Tommy the dad, largely because my children aren’t allowed to watch any of my films yet. My older son really wants to watch ‘Mad Max’, but I’ve told him that he can’t – he’s got to watch the ‘Harry Potter’ films first!”

How To Train Your Dragon 3 suffers another delay

OHMYGOSSIP — The release of ‘How To Train Your Dragon 3’ has been delayed again.
The long-awaited release of the third movie in the franchise has been hindered by a variety of different issues and will now not hit cinema screens until March 2019.
‘How To Train Your Dragon 3’ was previously due to be released this year, before being changed to 2017 and more recently, to 2018.
In 2015, Dreamworks Animation chief Jeffrey Katzenberg said the biggest issue with scheduling times was due to the restructuring of Dreamworks – the movie production company – and conceded that the three-films-a-year plan was very ambitious.
The original ‘How To Train Your Dragon’ came to screens in 2010 and was a considerable success.
The movie introduced Hiccup, a misfit teenager who studies at a dragon-fighting school – and he tries to prove that he is a true viking.
‘How To Train Your Dragon 2′, meanwhile, was released in 2014 and saw Hiccup off on another adventure to discover unexplored lands.
The successful animation spawned a spin-off series for Netflix and it is believed that Dean Delois will return to direct with members of the original voice cast including Cate Blanchett and Jonah Hill.
In a previous interview, Dean said that fans could expect the third film to be a “culmination of Hiccup’s coming of age”.
The synopsis of the third movie said: “As Hiccup fulfills his dream of creating a peaceful dragon utopia, Toothless’ discovery of an untamed, elusive mate draws the Night Fury away. When danger mounts at home and Hiccup’s reign as village chief is tested, both dragon and rider must make impossible decisions to save their kind.”

The 62-year-old actor is set to star in the action movie which tells the story of five bodyguards who are tasked with protecting a Mexican politician after his father is murdered by a drug cartel ahead of an election.
According to Variety, Chan will portray one of minders in the forthcoming film, which will be written by Joe Carnahan.
The scriptwriter was initially in line to direct the motion picture in 2014 but he is currently only on board to pen the screenplay.
Bruce Willis was also previously attached to the movie but is not said to be involved now.
Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Jordan Schur will produce the project through their respective Di Bonventura Pictures and Mimran Schur Pictures.
Last month, Chan received an honorary Oscar following a glittering 56-year career, his first recognition from the Academy.
Accepting the accolade from Tom Hanks, Michelle Yeoh and Chris Tucker, he said: “My dad always said, ‘Son, you get so many movie awards in the world, when are you going to get one of these?’ Then I just look at my dad. ‘Ha, ha, ha. Dad, I only make comedy action movies.’
“After 56 years in the film industry, making over 200 films, I’ve broken so many bones, finally this is mine. I want to thank you, Hong Kong, such an incredible city, my hometown, my hood, who make me.
“China, my country, I am proud to be Chinese. Thank you, Hollywood, for all of those years teaching me so many things, and also make me a little bit famous. I’m just honoured to be here.”
In May 2012, Chan announced he was retiring from action movies but later clarified his comments, insisting he would not be quitting action films.

Jessica Chastain's Miss Sloane hopes

OHMYGOSSIP —
Jessica Chastain hopes ‘Miss Sloane’ helps people realise women are “allowed to be ambitious”.
The 39-year-old actress stars as the titular Elizabeth Sloane – a ruthless lobbyist who goes up against the gun industry – in the recently released thriller movie, and has said the feature should “help us reimagine” the role of women in society, and push America toward a world where women aren’t afraid to “ask for a pay rise and a promotion”.
She told The Hollywood Reporter: “It’s crazy how the timing of his film has worked out.
“But this film shows a successful, powerful, over-prepared, perfectionist woman – with flaws, because she’s allowed those – who is working in D.C. and on an issue that isn’t gender-specific.
“The more movies that feature parts like this, a thorny, dynamic character who doesn’t have to be America’s sweetheart, I think it’ll help us reimagine the role that women are supposed to take in our society.
“We’re allowed to be ambitious and ask for a pay raise and a promotion – and in fact, we should.”
Jessica believes she isn’t too far from her powerful character because she’s “outspoken” and wouldn’t consider herself to be a “wallflower”.
She added: “I already work hard and am outspoken about what I believe in. I’m no wallflower.”
Some of the actors involved in the making of ‘Miss Sloane’ have also been able to take tips from the leading role.
Jack Lacy – who plays Forde – said: “[I admire how] she doesn’t quit – that quality is something I continually need to work on. Don’t stop grinding, don’t let off the accelerator.”
Michael Stuhlbarg – who portrays Pat Connors in the film – said: “[I’ve learned] to not be the last one to be surprised. Make sure you know what you want and be willing to do anything to get it.

Janette Manrara and Aljaž Škorjanec don't argue

OHMYGOSSIP — Janette Manrara and Aljaž Škorjanec “hardly ever argue”.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professionals spend the majority of their time in each other’s company but have admitted their relationship is stronger than ever because they never squabble.
She said: “Our relationship has a lovely dynamic. I’m a bit of a worrier and get stressed out but Aljaž keeps me calm. Sometimes he needs me to help him, too, so it’s a perfect match. Despite being together 24/7, we hardly ever argue and never get tired of one another. I actually miss him when we’re not together for only a couple of hours. I’m very lucky to have him in my life.”
And, although they’re planning to tie the knot next year after getting together five years ago, Janette doesn’t think becoming a married couple will affect the way they are together.
She said: “Marriage won’t make any difference to what we have between us. We’ve promised each other we’ll never change and that everything will be beautiful and butterflies forever.”
Once they’ve got hitched, the pair are planning to start a family together.
She explained: “Family is very important to us both. I love babies and Aljaž is great with kids so there will be little ones running around in the future.”
But, until then, the pair will be travelling up and down the country for their ‘Donahey’s Dancing with the Stars’ and practicing their quickstep for the 50-date ‘Remembering Fred’ tour.
Aljaž told HELLO! magazine: “We’re so excited. This will be the first time we’ve headlined on our own. For us Astaire is the most influential dancer who has ever lived. Everything he did was pure class and perfection. We’re looking forward to dancing to one of our favourite tracks, too.”

Gok Wan shares Christmas shopping tips

OHMYGOSSIP — Gok Wan has urged people to “give the gift of time” this Christmas.
The 42-year-old fashion expert has shared his top tips for people to give a thoughtful present to their loved ones this year that doesn’t have to cost the earth.
He said: “Give the gift of time: Christmas is a time to say thank you to your loved ones, and a great way to show you care is with an experience you’ll know they love. Giving someone the gift of time is priceless.
“[Or] make it personal: Personalising a gift turns it into a memory which lasts forever. Find an independent, local jeweller where you can engrave existing, or new pieces of jewellery with a message, creating a beautiful keepsake.
“For a gift that will really delight, find a professional repair and restoration service to bring once-loved items back to life. Or alternatively look for a small shop which offers restorations on their products – you’ll be buying a present which will last a lifetime.”
And Gok also thinks a handmade gift is truly “meaningful”.
He said: “Giving loved ones something you made yourself makes it much more meaningful. Try out some workshops or classes – not only do you get the chance to make something yourself, but you also learn a new skill at the same time.”
With new research by American Express showing two thirds of Brits will leave their Christmas shopping to the last minute, their Shop Small ambassador Gok insists there is no need to panic buy.
He said: “This Christmas, I want to help show shoppers that they don’t need to panic buy, because the Great British high street is absolutely packed with small shops selling unique and amazing items. The shops people walk past every single day are packed full of things waiting to be uncovered.
“So I say get to your high street, shop small and start discovering!”
American Express has teamed up with shopping expert Gok , and bloggers from across the UK, to uncover memorable gifts from small shops this Christmas.

The 38-year-old TV star will reportedly go head-to-head with the Ben Fogle when she takes to the stage to mime hit songs on the forthcoming series of the Channel 5 show, which is hosted by Mel B and Professor Green, according to the Sun Online.
Although the blonde beauty will be taking to the stage to parody the performances, she has claimed she is actually a good singer.
Speaking previously, she said: “I can actually sing. I’m not manufactured if I want to have fun I’ll have fun. I can sing but when you’re drunk you think you’re Whitney Houston and you’re not. I’ll post a clip on Instagram.”
However, the former glamour model – who has sons Harvey, 14, Junior, 11, Jett, three, as well as daughters Princess, nine, and Bunny, two, from three different relationships – has revealed her “biggest regret” in life was her duet with her ex-husband Peter Andre, which saw the former couple perform the Disney classic ‘A Whole New World’ on the ‘Eurovision Song Contest’ in 2005.
Speaking previously about the moment she took to the stage with the ‘Mysterious Girl’ hitmaker, whom she has kids Junior and Princess, she said: “Out of anything I’ve done in my whole career, that is my biggest regret.”

Jeremy McConnell lost weight having sex

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeremy McConnell lost weight by having “lots of sex.”
The 26-year-old hunk hit the headlines in the summer after he was pictured with a slight beer belly and a fuller face but he has admitted it didn’t take him long to lose the extra pounds he was carrying because he’s been getting plenty of exercise in the bedroom.
Speaking to new! magazine, he said: “I was doing four PAs a week. I was eating and drinking what I want. I’ve lost it now … (by having) sex. A lot of sex.”
Although he likes getting hot and heavy beneath the sheets, the former ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ star is adamant he doesn’t have an addiction to sex and just “enjoys” it.
When asked if he’s addicted to sex, he said: “I just enjoy sex and making girls happy.”
And, although he enjoys being responsible for the smile on girls’ faces, Jeremy isn’t planning to settle down in the future because he hates being “tied” to something.
He explained: “I wouldn’t want to be tied down. I’m impulsive. I have a Jack Daniel’s now and I might want a sambuca next time. A blonde one day, a red head another.”
Jeremy is currently expecting his first child with his ex-girlfriend Stephanie Davis but isn’t convinced he’s the father and wants a paternity test done once the baby is born.
He said when asked if he’s in contact with the actress: “I don’t talk to Steph … I don’t think anyone had anything negative to say about me – apart from that situation.”
However, Jeremy is adamant he’ll be a “great father” if it turns out the little one, who is a baby boy and is due to be born into the world in January, is actually his child.
He explained: “I know I’m going to be a great father.”
