Elijah Wood: Acting took over my childhood

OHMYGOSSIP — Elijah Wood thinks acting took over his childhood.
The 35-year-old actor was home-schooled as a youngster, but has admitted his academic life took a backward seat after he was cast in Hollywood movies, such as ‘Back to the Future Part II’ and ‘Flipper’.
He shared: “I remember being about ten and wanting to go to college. As a kid, I was home-schooled or tutored, but then life – and acting – took over.
“I’ve had such rich life experiences, I don’t feel like I’ve missed out on the whole college thing.”
Elijah is best known for starring as Frodo Baggins in ‘The Lord of the Rings’ movies and considers himself fortunate to have been part of the franchise.
He told the Metro newspaper: “I wouldn’t have missed out on that for the world. It took me so many places. You’re kind of aware it’s a high water mark, you’re never going to work on anything quite like that again.
“The goal afterwards was to work on things that are as different as possible, to find fresh challenges. But Frodo hasn’t been a hindrance, he opened lots of doors.”
Away from acting, Elijah is also passionate about his music and considers being a DJ to be the “biggest fun” of his life.
He said: “It’s something I’ve done for 15 years, it’s my biggest fun. My brother had records growing up, so I’ve always been around vinyl.”
But Elijah insisted there is a marked distinction between his passions for music and cinema.
He explained: “Music is more personal: being a DJ is an extension of myself. Acting is an expression of someone else, it takes you to a different place. That’s why I do both.”

Mark Wahlberg reveals Patriots Day doubts

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Wahlberg questioned the timing of the release of ‘Patriots Day’.
The 45-year-old actor stars in the new drama about the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013, but has admitted that following more-recent terrorist attacks in Paris and Florida, he questioned whether it was appropriate to release the movie in cinemas.
He told Deadline: “For awhile, we kind of debated it back and forth that it was too soon.
“But then we realised that with all the stuff that’s going on in the world, if you look at Orlando, if you look at Paris, if you look everywhere all over the world, it’s really not soon enough because this is a message about love and hope and people coming together.”
‘Patriots Day’ is set for worldwide release in January and Mark recently admitted he still finds it “extremely difficult” to talk about the marathon bombings.
The Boston native stars as Sergeant Tommy Saunders in the soon-to-be-released drama about the bombing – which resulted in six deaths and left approximately 280 people with non-fatal injuries.
Mark felt a sense of “pride” being involved in the project, but he also admitted that it made the event “more and more difficult” to deal with.
He said: “It’s such a small community, so everyone knew someone who was affected.
“I also felt a sense of pride being there. It was extremely difficult making [the] movie … it’s becoming more and more difficult to talk about it.”

Stephanie Davis is in contact with Zayn Malik

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephanie Davis is still in contact with her ex-boyfriend Zayn Malik.
The 23-year-old actress dated the former One Direction hunk for five months during 2011 but it seems there’s no bad blood between them as she still speaks with him.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Steph and Zayn didn’t part on bad terms, there’s no reason why they wouldn’t still be in touch. When she went in to CBB in January he was rooting for her, and sent messages of support before she went in the house.”
The 23-year-old hunk may spend the majority of his time in the US with his new girlfriend Gigi Hadid now but he knows all about Stephanie’s turbulent relationship with her now-ex-boyfriend Jeremy McConnell and the tough time she’s had carrying her baby boy, who is thought to be belong to heartthrob and due to be born in January.
An insider told the publication: “They’ve got a lot of shared friends so they always know what each other is up to one way or another. Zayn knows about Stephanie being pregnant and all the drama she’s gone through with Jeremy.”
The former ‘Hollyoaks’ star reportedly reached out to the ‘Pillowtalk’ hitmaker after she split with the 26-year-old Irish hunk in May because he knows all about going through a messy break up considering his highly public separation with Perrie Edwards last year.
The insider explained: “Zayn’s been through a very public break up too. He gets what she’s going through.”
Although she was left devastated over her split with Jeremy – who she met in the ‘CBB’ house at the beginning of the year – she now feels content with her life.
Taking to her Twitter account on Tuesday (06.12.16), she said: “I acknowledge I was young, had a lot of freedom and made some very bad decisions along the way. The thing is I wouldn’t change any of it… It’s made me into the person I am today and for that Im grateful. I have learnt so much on my journey and continue to learn every day (sic)”

Darren Jeffries leaving Hollyoaks

OHMYGOSSIP — Darren Jeffries has already filmed his ‘Hollyoaks’ exit.
The 34-year-old actor reprised his role as Sam ‘OB O’Brien’ – who he played for 12 years until 2008 – last month, but he has confirmed his return is only temporary and he will be departing the village again soon.
He told the Daily Star newspaper: “It was always going to have a beginning and end to work with.
“It’s been nice going back knowing it would be for a set period and how the storyline ends.”
But Darren isn’t too upset that his stint has been so brief as he’s looking forward to doing something different.
He added: “I’ve loved being back and seeing all the familiar faces. And it’s wonderful to go back to the character.
“But at the same time I love being a working actor and taking on different roles.”
OB returned to Chester from London to help Cindy Cunningham (Stephanie Waring) and Grace Black (Tamara Wall) find the missing Osbourne family.
And it seems the story will be brought to a conclusion before the popular character leaves the village again.
A source said: “OB is integral to solving the mystery surrounding the Osbornes. But it won’t be plain sailing.”
Darren is no stranger to big storylines, having been involved in a number during his first spell in ‘Hollyoaks’, which began in June 1997.
One of his most memorable plotlines came when he saved his best friend Max Cunningham (Matt Littler) from being murdered by his evil wife Claire Devine (Gemma Bissix).
Sadly, Max was finally killed prompting O.B. to leave the Hollyoaks village for London, where his ex-girlfriend Summer Shaw (Summer Strallen) landed a part in West End musical ‘The Sound of Music’.
This led to a famous cross-over episode featuring Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber.
As well as winning numerous fans during his on-screen bromance with Matt, the pair also picked up the Best Onscreen Partnership prize at the 2008 British Soap Awards.

Paul 'Gazza' Gascoigne to join Celebrity Big Brother?

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul ‘Gazza’ Gascoigne may make a guest appearance on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.
The 49-year-old former footballer – who has openly battled with a drugs and alcohol addiction over the years – is reportedly considering entering the infamous house temporarily next month when his step-daughter Bianca, 30, is thrown into the explosive abode among other celebrities for the forthcoming special ‘Gold Stars vs All Stars’.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper: “She is really hoping her doing the show will give him something to look forward to.
“Bianca wants nothing more than for Paul to be happy and well again. She wants to show her family in a good light. She wants her family name to be celebrated.”
Bosses are hoping the former ‘Love Island’ winner will open up to her fellow house mates about Gazza’s well-documented fight with his demons and, judging by her portfolio of photo shoots, be willing to flash the flesh to draw in hot-blooded viewers.
The insider said: “Producers think Bianca will be a hit with viewers. She’s a gorgeous girl who isn’t afraid to flash the flesh. She’s also feisty and willing to speak her mind and stick up for herself. Bianca can be sweet, but she’s not a walkover.”
But Bianca may have to fight for camera time as she isn’t the only beauty rumoured to be entering the property after Christmas, as former ‘The Only Way is Essex’ star Danielle Armstrong – who quit the ITVBe show last month – has also signed up.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Danielle has a big personality and would be a great asset to the house. She’s looking to branch out now her ‘TOWIE’ days are over and sees ‘CBB’ as a great way to do this. Her fellow ‘TOWIE’ stars have managed to get their own shows out their stint in the house – she wants to do likewise.”
The 28-year-old blonde bombshell will join the show in January alongside rumoured housemates Lee Ryan, reality TV couple Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, Katie Hopkins, outspoken model Jasmine Lennard and former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional James Jordan, who have all appeared in the flamboyant abode in previous years.

Scarlett Johansson wants to play a Disney princess

OHMYGOSSIP — Scarlett Johansson wants to play a Disney princess.
The 32-year-old actress – who shares two-year-old daughter Rose with her husband Romain Dauriac – revealed she has the same dream as her daughter: to become a Disney princess.
She said: “My daughter is still young. Right now I think we both share the dream that I will someday be a Disney princess, but it’s probably not going to happen. I’ve been asking for that job for the past 20 years, and nobody has booked me.”
The Hollywood star revealed what draws her to a film role.
She told New York Times newspaper:”I look for projects with filmmakers who want to make things that give the audience a fresh experience.
“I’ve always been very competitive, and a part of that is pushing your boundaries – taking a risk, and being able to live with the loss that comes with taking a risk.”
The ‘Captain America: Civil War’ star also explained the rule she lives by when choosing her characters, which have included playing Kaa in the newest adaption of ‘The Jungle Book’ and the Black widow in ‘Iron Man 2’.
She said: “I’ve always had the same principle for choosing roles, which is to try and make movies that I would pay to see. As I get older that’s meant different things.
“I’ve never been a superhero-comic fan exactly. I did ‘Iron Man 2’ because I loved what [the director Jon] Favreau did with ‘Iron Man.’ It spoke to me as someone who was not a fan of that genre, and I saw a future in building a character with Marvel.”

Joseph Gordon-Levitt reveals his surveillance fears

OHMYGOSSIP — Joseph Gordon-Levitt put a plaster over his webcam to prevent government surveillance.
The 35-year-old Hollywood actor plays the role of Edward Snowden, the National Security Agency whistle-blower who is currently living in exile in Russia, and has admitted that his experience on set has made him more conscious of privacy issues.
Asked whether he has put a plaster over the camera on his computer, Joseph shared: “I have done it. But the thing’s fallen off and I need to find another one.
“It’s funny: putting a Band-Aid or piece of tape over your webcam only scratches the surface of addressing the big question.
“I do think I’ve become more thoughtful about what this technology is. I tend to be really optimistic. I was raised to embrace technology. My dad always made sure we had a computer in our house.”
Joseph – who stars alongside Shailene Woodley and Zachary Quinto in the Oliver Stone-directed movie – admitted he cherishes his privacy.
He told the Metro newspaper: “Alone time is important to me. Having my privacy, having my moments to explore and try things and say, ‘What do I think?’ and write in my journal and talk to myself … this is how I feel about who I am, how I feel about things, about myself.
“And it would be very different to know someone was reading those journal entries or listening in on while I was having those private conversations. It’s important to have a boundary.”
Despite this, Joseph admitted he has Googled his own name, because he’s been curious to know what people think of him.
He said: “I have done it. I try not to spend too much time doing that because it’s really not productive.”

Felicity Jones adopted a Rocky-like approach to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

OHMYGOSSIP — Felicity Jones adopted a “Rocky-like devotion to fitness” for her role in ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’.
The 33-year-old actress has been cast as Jyn Erso in the Gareth Edwards-directed movie and has revealed she trained like Sylvester Stallone’s iconic character in preparation for the film.
She said: “It involves a Rocky-like devotion to fitness and fighting. It is like training for the Olympics.”
Felicity plays the lead in the movie, but she does not think her gender should be considered a big fuss.
She told the Metro newspaper: “People keep saying how amazing it is having a female lead and I just sort of feel, well, of course!
“It shouldn’t be such a big deal. We are half the population.”
Despite this, Felicity admitted that during her childhood, she would pretend to be a male character rather than the glamorous Princess Leia.
She said: “I was definitely Han Solo! Or Luke Skywalker. I was a tomboy. I think that’s what I tapped into playing Jyn.
“I was very sporty. I used to play for the Warwickshire Junior Bears cricket team.”
On the other hand, Felicity recently said it is “important” for a woman to be heading ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’, as the sci-fi genre is “traditionally dominated by men”.
She said: “Jyn is a fantastic woman … I saw her as being tough and decisive and I tried to capture that attitude and portray her as an extraordinary heroine. We rarely see a woman like this in film …
“It’s important and exciting that this genre, which is traditionally dominated by men, is now featuring a woman in a central role. I spent hours practicing for the fight scenes. I even had to learn kung fu with my own coach, and I would work for hours every day learning the moves.”

Scarlett Moffatt opens up about bullies

OHMYGOSSIP — Scarlett Moffatt was “allowed to leave school early” to avoid bullies.
The 26-year-old star was recently crowned Queen of the Jungle after she won ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ but has revealed she wasn’t always so well liked as she used to have to leave school 10 minutes before the end of class to dodge her haters.
She told The Sun newspaper: “The way the school dealt with [my bullying] was that, 10 minutes before the end of the day, I was allowed to leave early so I didn’t get beat up.
“I would just walk around Asda’s car park until three o’clock or up until the time I was meant to come home. I just felt so embarrassed to tell my mum and dad.”
The ‘Gogglebox’ star also admitted she used to tell her parents she “loved” going to school, because she didn’t want to tell them the truth.
She added: “I would pretend to my parents that I loved school. Sometimes I would sit in the toilets at breaks just so I didn’t have to wander around the playgrounds on my own.
“I just wanted them to think I was cool. I would go home and they’d ask, ‘How was school?’ And I’d say, ‘Really good’.
“I remember this girl coming back from dinner and saying they’d been to the chip shop, and the boys had been throwing chips at them at the swimming baths where they used to sit. I would go home and tell my mum that story as if I was there.
“I tried to fit in but failed miserably, so I just carried on being me as my dad said, ‘Just be you, just be yourself’.”
And the brunette beauty also opened up about her experience on the jungle-based reality show, as she said heading into the wilderness brought back feelings from her school days.
She said: “That was the big thing for me going in there, I felt like an outsider as all I do is watch the telly for a living.
“I was with people like Larry Lamb, Carol Vorderman. I was worried how these people were going to take me. It was just so nice to be accepted for who I am. It was just amazing.”

Alison King set for Coronation Street return?

OHMYGOSSIP — Alison King could be set for a return to ‘Coronation Street’.
The ‘Dream Team’ actress – who shot her final scenes as Carla Connor in April after 10 years on the soap – has been spotted on set in recent weeks and it is said show boss Kate Oates is keen for her to reprise her role in Weatherfield.
A source said: “Alison decided to leave before Kate took over the role of series producer, something Kate was gutted about.
“Kate is a big fan of Alison and is keen to get her back full-time as she loved her character.”
Carla was last seen on the cobbles in May when she headed to Devon to start a new life after blurting out that she cheated on husband Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) with her arch-enemy Tracy Barlow’s (Kate Ford) lover Robert Preston (Tristan Gemmill) following a boozy session a few months prior.
But soap bosses left the door open for the raven-haired beauty to return to the soap.
The source added to The Sun newspaper: “Alison struggled to find work since leaving in the summer and the cast and viewers would love her to return too.
“There was always an emphasis on the door being left open for her character and several storylines are coming up that could make that happen.”
‘Corrie’ bosses are said to be hoping to convince Alison to return for a wedding between her on-screen dad Johnny Connor (Richard Hawley) and Jenny Bradley (Sally Ann Matthews) as he’s set to pop the question in an upcoming storyline.
Following her departure, Alison admitted she wanted to take “a while off” and planned to star in a comedy.
She said: “I’m going to miss the people here, I’ve made a lot of great mates, but I’m tired. I’m going to take a while off and then see what happens. I don’t know what I’m going to do next, something completely different, maybe a comedy.”
Alison first appeared in ‘Corrie’ as Mrs. Fanshaw, a customer of builder Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas), in 2004, and first starred as Carla in December 2006.

Jeremy Irons joins Red Sparrow

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeremy Irons is set to join Jennifer Lawrence in the cast of ‘Red Sparrow’.
The 68-year-old Hollywood veteran will star alongside the ‘Hunger Games’ actress in the upcoming thriller, alongside the newly announced Matthias Schoenaerts and Joel Edgerton, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
‘Red Sparrow’ is based on an espionage novel written by Jason Matthews and follows the story of a Russian intelligence officer, who – against her will – must become a trained seductress called a Sparrow.
She must then use her newly-honed powers of temptation to operate against a young CIA agent who handles the agency’s most important Russian mole.
While Jennifer, 26, will be taking on the lead role of Dominika Egorova – who later becomes the titular Sparrow – all other roles have yet to be released.
Francis Lewis – who also helmed ‘The Hunger Games’ – is taking on directorial duties, using a script written by Justin Haythe.
Producers for the project have not been named, but are coming from Chernin Entertainment and Fox Film.
‘Red Sparrow’ is also yet to have a release date as the project is still in early development, but it is thought the feature will be finished in time for 2017.
Fans of Jeremy will be able to catch the star in the upcoming Batman franchise movie ‘The Batman’.
When asked if his character Alfred Pennyworth will feature more prominently in ‘Justice League’ than he did in ‘Batman v Superman’, he said: “Similar, but then, of course, Ben [Affleck]’s going to make a Batman film next summer.
“He promises me there’s going to be a bit more of Alfred in that. In the Justice League we have seven major lead characters and I’m the butler to one of them. It’s clear I will not be dominating that film.”

Damian Lewis in final talks for Ocean's Eight

OHMYGOSSIP — Damian Lewis is in final talks to star in ‘Ocean’s Eight’.
The ‘Homeland’ actor is in negotiations to portray the movie’s villain and the former lover of Sandra Bullock’s lead character, who is in charge of a girl gang who attempt to pull off a major heist at the Met Gala.
The 45-year-old star was thought to be set for a small part in the film after he was spotted on set in recent weeks, but sources have confirmed to Variety that Lewis will have more than a cameo in the motion picture.
Gary Ross will direct the movie, a female spin-off of 2001’s ‘Ocean’s Eleven’, which starred George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Don Cheadle and Andy García.
The ‘Ocean’s Eight’ all-star line-up includes Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson and US rapper Awkwafina.
Ross will produce the motion picture alongside ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ director Steven Soderbergh, and Susan Ekins will executive produce.
Damon – who played pickpocket Linus Caldwell in the 2001 movie – previously revealed he has landed a cameo role in ‘Ocean’s Eight’.
He said: “I’m doing a little bit in the movie. I haven’t read it yet, but the cast is phenomenal and I’m excited to see what those women do with it. It’s going to be fun.”
The 46-year-old actor recently admitted he has high hopes for the movie.
He said: “I think it’s going to be awesome. “They’re going to kick ass.”

Lydia Bright and Vogue Williams train for The Jump

OHMYGOSSIP — Lydia Bright and Vogue Williams have started training for ‘The Jump’.
The ‘Only Way is Essex’ star and the 31-year-old model have only just agreed to take part in the forthcoming series of the winter sports show but it seems they’re determined to get as much practice in before Christmas as they can, as they took to the artificial slopes on Tuesday (06.12.16) to learn how to slide down the snow.
The 26-year-old blonde beauty uploaded a photograph of herself and Vogue in their thermals as they prepared to take to the dry slope and wrote: “Here we go, early morning starts. First day of training. Let’s do this boo @voguewilliams
@channel4 #TheJump 2017 I ove skiing & have defos become an adrenaline junkie as Ive got older Bring on the challenge (sic).”
Although they need plenty of practice before they hit the Austrian slopes next month, Lydia and Vogue are no doubt determined to do better than their exes James ‘Arg’ Argent and Brian McFadden, respectively, did on the show last year.
The reality TV star – who has dated Lydia on and off since they were at school – became a laughing stock last year as he struggled to stand up on his skis and, despite his best efforts, he was eliminated from the show just two weeks in.
However, Vogue will need to work extra hard to outdo her ex as Brian, whom she was married to from 2012 until 2015, was given the boot just before the grand final.
Although they both thrive off adrenaline, Vogue and Lydia are no doubt riddled with nerves as last year’s show was responsible for a number of celebrities experiencing life-changing injuries.
The last series saw gymnast Beth Tweddle break her back, ‘Made in Chelsea’ star Mark-Francis Vandelli fracture his ankle and Rebecca Adlington dislocate her shoulder.
The spike in injuries meant bosses were forced to revisit the risky format and discuss whether it was worth bringing it back for another series at the beginning of next year.
However, after bosses managed to persuade a good amount of stars to take part in the forthcoming series, producers were given the go-ahead to do another installment.

Bruno Tonioli might not return to Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Bruno Tonioli doesn’t know if he’ll return to ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 61-year-old star has been a judge on the show since it began 12 years ago, and he admits he currently has no idea what the future holds as he isn’t “under contract” and won’t be thinking about committing to the show for a good few months.
He said: “Am I tempted to leave? I don’t know.
“Anyway, I’m not under contract with the BBC and where ‘Strictly is concerned, conversations only start around May or June. Before that, everybody is so exhausted, nothing will be said or done until the end of spring.”
This year will see the departure of the show’s head judge Len Goodman – but Bruno won’t miss his friend “at all” because they’ll still be working together on the ‘Dancing With the Stars’ panel.
He said: “I won’t miss Len at all when he leaves after this series because I do the American show with him. I’m stuck with him for years!”
Bruno is amazed at how quickly the last 12 years have gone by and insists fame hasn’t changed him, though it has made certain parts of his life easier.
He told Woman magazine: “Fame hasn’t changed me. I’m exactly the same as always.
“It feels like yesterday that ‘Strictly’ started but 12 years have passed.
“I can’t even believe how quickly the whole thing happened. I still live in the same place and see the same people, but it is easier to get a table in a restaurant. I wasn’t very well known before, but I was doing very well. You get recognised everywhere you go and people are nice to me. It doesn’t change me, but I am very grateful.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Georgia Kousoulou’s brother was involved in a car crash on Monday (05.12.16) night.
The ‘Only Way is Essex’ star is “so thankful” her younger sibling Antony and his friends managed to come out unscathed after they were involved in a drink-driving incident.
Taking to her Instagram account after the accident, the blonde beauty vented her frustration as she warned other people about boozing while behind the wheel.
She wrote: “So thankful my brother @akousoulou & his friends got out of a car crash with just cuts & bruises .. All because of a DRUNK DRIVER . who was over the limit by double .. THANK GOD my brother & friends had there seat belts on.. I CANT STRESS enough.. People it’s Christmas coming up which means more parties , more celebrations .. If your going to have a drink .. It’s not yet known what happened to the person – who was over double the legal alcohol limit – in the other vehicle or whether Georgia’s brother was driving at the time.
Anthony’s accident comes just a few months after Georgia’s co-star Michael Hassini was arrested for drink-driving when he ploughed into a bus in London in August.

Katie Price gives up booze

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Loose Women’s Katie Price has promised to give up alcohol for a whole month.
The 39-year-old controversial panellist turned her back on the lunchtime show temporarily two months ago so she could focus on her marriage with her husband Kieran Hayler but her return to the show has certainly been exciting as she vowed to ditch the booze entirely next month as part of the famous Dry January challenge.
Speaking on the programme, she said: ” Believe it or not, I don’t drink at home at all. Unless I’ve got a party, I couldn’t think of anything worse than going home and having a glass of wine. What do you get out of a glass of wine? I’m a binge drinker. If I’m going to go out, it’s all or nothing. So when I go out, I only go out to get drunk. I get drunk very quickly but I still last all night. I think I’m really funny. I can be quite filthy minded.
“But I think people are laughing with me, they’re probably laughing at me. I like to sing but I don’t know that cut-off point. I don’t know the line but then I think, Oh it’s alright, they love it.’ In the morning, I still remember what I did.”
However, the show’s main host Ruth Langsford challenged Katie to give up the booze for 31 days – starting on January 1 – in a bid to prove she’s “not much of a drinker.”
To which Katie said: “I would probably be fine not drinking for a month. I would do it because I know I’m not a drinker. I go to nightclub sometimes to do work but I don’t have to drink. I will win this year.”
