Planet Earth lined up for third series

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Planet Earth’ is already being lined up for a third installment.
The second series of the wildlife documentary has only just wrapped up and, although it was initially thought it would be the last time viewers get to witness the breath-taking scenes of nature accompanied by Sir David Attenborough’s narration, bosses are now keen to persuade the 90-year-old naturalist to record another batch of episodes.
Producer Mike Gunton explained the idea of a third series in the pipeline but, even if the BBC are on board with the recommission, it could take at least a decade to make.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, Mike explained: “We’d also be crazy to say it will be here in three years or even five years’ time. We love working with Sir David and I think he loves working with us, and we want that to last as long as possible. When he decides he doesn’t want to do any more, we will have to rethink how we make these programmes. You can’t replace him – it’s pointless trying.”
‘Planet Earth’ first hit television screens in 2006 and, following the huge success of its debut, the BBC announced earlier this year that it had commissioned a six-part sequel.
‘Planet Earth II’ was predicted to be a hit with viewers but producers never expected it to beat ITV’s singing show ‘The X Factor’ in the ratings war consistently for six weeks.
And the success is hardly surprising as it was the most high-tech series ever to grace screens due to the ultra-high-speed cameras mounted on drones that gave fans an up-close glimpse of the natural world that has never been witnessed before.

Ben Mendelsohn in talks to star in Robin Hood: Origins

OHMYGOSSIP — Ben Mendelsohn is in talks to play the role of the Sheriff of Nottingham in ‘Robin Hood: Origins’.
The 47-year-old actor is wanted to play the iconic role opposite Taron Egerton in the new movie, which also stars Jamie Foxx, Eve Hewson and Jamie Dornan.
Ben has been cast as Director Orson Krennic in ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ and is now being eyed for a part in the Otto Bathurst-directed movie, according to Empire Online.
The central role of Robin is to be played by Taron, who recently promised that the new movie will be “dark and gritty”, adding that his incarnation of the heroic outlaw will be markedly different from previous versions.
Taron said: “It’s a real reimagining; it’s not really very recognisable as Robin Hood.
“Robin Hood has a reputation for being quite clean and wholesome, aside from Alan Rickman’s amazing performance in the Kevin Costner version, but it’s tights and thigh-slapping and merry men.”
Taron also revealed that his Robin would not be a “classic hero”.
He said: “This is really kind of dark and gritty and very funny too, but it’s a real revisionist version of the story. There’s no singing and riding through the glen in this; it’s a real war movie.
“Quite an anti-establishment war movie, I would say… It’s dark. And Robin’s not perfect in it, either, which is what I like about it. He’s not a classic hero, he makes mistakes.”
He also teased the casting announcement of the Sheriff of Nottingham, although he did not mention Ben by name.
Taron shared: “We have got the most kick ass Sheriff of Nottingham, I cannot tell you. I don’t think I’m allowed to say yet but I think it’ll probably be announced soon. Oh my God.”

Felicity Jones would rather play male roles

OHMYGOSSIP — Felicity Jones would rather play male roles.
The 33-year-old actress plays the lead role as the Rebel Alliance fighter Jyn Erso in the newly released ‘Star Wars’ spin-off movie ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ and although Felicity enjoyed playing the intense part, she revealed she often looks at film scripts and thinks the male parts are better.
She said: “I’d rather play the male role.”
The decision to cast an actress as the lead in ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ has attracted lots of attention, and Felicity has admitted to being shocked by the stir it has caused.
She told the Metro newspaper: “I was surprised, it doesn’t feel to me like it’s a big deal at all.”
The movie is poised to be one of the biggest hits of 2016, but Felicity has revealed she feared being overlooked for the part of Jyn.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I thought the disappointment would be so great if I didn’t get it, I kind of used ‘The Force’ to get me through it.”
Despite the interest surrounding her casting, Felicity previously insisted it’s “wonderful” that young girls can look up to her character.
She said: “I just feel it’s a wonderful moment that young girls get to celebrate someone like Jyn just as they did with Daisy Ridley’s Rey [in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’].
“She is someone who has great humanity, she has an independent spirit and lives by her beliefs, and I think there’s something wonderful about her for a young girl to admire.”
“Jyn is a fantastic woman … I saw her as being tough and decisive and I tried to capture that attitude and portray her as an extraordinary heroine. We rarely see a woman like this in film … ”

Matt Terry signing with RCA

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Terry’s career won’t be guided by Simon Cowell.
The ‘X Factor’ winner will reportedly release his music through Sony label RCA, rather than the show boss’ own Sony subsidiary, Syco – which looks after the likes of previous contestants Little Mix and James Arthur – as music executives think he could be the next Olly Murs, who will now be one of his labelmates.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Simon and Sony have had a think and believe that Matt is very much an artist in the mould of Olly Murs.
“And to that end, they both believe he should be a label mate of Olly’s on RCA.”
Matt’s debut single, the Ed Sheeran-penned ‘When Christmas Comes Around’ is currently on course to take the top spot at the weekend and music executives are hoping it can retain the number one position over the festive period.
The source added: “Everyone is thrilled with Matt’s victory and how brilliantly the winner’s single is doing.
“It’s already been the iTunes number one for well over 24 hours even though it only came out late on Sunday evening.
“‘When Christmas Comes Around’ is a fantastic song.
“It perfectly showcases Matt’s talent and also has a real shot at the Christmas number one next week if momentum continues to build.”
A Sony Music spokesperson refused to be drawn on Matt’s new home, simply saying: “Matt Terry is now part of the Sony Music family.”
The 23-year-old singer isn’t the first ‘X Factor’ winner not to be signed by Syco, as Matt Cardle’s career was overseen by Columbia Records following his 2010 victory, though that year third-placed One Direction were offered a deal by Simon, and second-placed Rebecca Ferguson had a joint contract with Syco and Epic records.
But this series of the show hasn’t left Simon without any new acts for his label, as it emerged earlier this week controversial rapper Honey G has inked a contract with Syco.
She confirmed in a video posted online: “And yes it is true, I am now signed to Simon Cowell’s label, Syco.
“I’m just so happy, I can’t explain how happy I am.
“I hope that everyone goes out, buys the single, supports it. We tear it up and we kill it, smash it. Bring on the album.”

Danielle Lloyd wants a baby

OHMYGOSSIP — Danielle Lloyd wants to get pregnant – so she can stop drinking.
The 33-year-old model – who already has sons Archie, five, Harry, four, and George, three, with ex-husband Jamie O’Hara – makes a New Year’s resolution every year to curb her alcohol intake, but struggles to stick to it, so knows having a baby with her fiancé Michael O’Neill would be the perfect deterrent.
She said: “I’d love to get pregnant again so I can start off the year right – and it would give me an excuse to stop drinking.
“Every single January I say I’m going to drink less or stop drinking altogether and every year I never stick to it.
“The boys would love another sibling and keep asking me when it’s going to happen – it’s so sweet.”
Though Danielle and Michael will be in their new home this Christmas, she’d love to jet off somewhere exciting afterwards.
She said: “We’ll spend Christmas at home in Birmingham but we’d love to get away for a holiday afterwards.
“I’d love to take the kids to New York at some point – I want to go to the huge toyshop FAO Schwarz and go ice skating and see all the Christmas lights.”
The brunette beauty is smitten with her electrician partner and loves leading a “normal” life with him.
She told Closer magazine: “It’s just nice being a normal mum with my kids and it’s lovely having a normal fiancé.
“He’s hands on and so kind, helping me with things like the school run and bathtime.
“He doesn’t like all the showbiz stuff, he just leaves me to it.”

Ellie Simmonds for Strictly Come Dancing 2017?

OHMYGOSSIP — Ellie Simmonds is reportedly the “number one choice” for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ 2017.
The 22-year-old Paralympic swimmer was invited to the semi-final of the BBC dancing competition on Saturday (10.12.16) in order to “get a feel” for the atmosphere as show bosses are reportedly targeting the gold medallist for next year’s line up.
A source said: “They wanted to introduce her to the ‘Strictly’ family and to get a feel for the place and the programme.
“By all accounts she had a fabulous time. It’s early days, but we would love her next year. She is our number one choice by a country mile.”
Ellie suffers with achondroplasia – a genetic disorder that is a common cause of dwarfism – but has dominated the Paralympic swimming tables after bringing home two gold medals in Beijing when she was just 13. Since then, Ellie won two golds, a silver, and a bronze at London’s 2012 games, as well as securing yet another gold and a bronze at the recent Rio Olympics.
The BBC’s decision to focus on getting Ellie on the show comes as Director-general Lord Tony Hall revealed he was aiming to boost the representation of disabled people on television from 1.2% to 5% by next year.
The insider added: “Having a disabled star on a prime time show like Strictly is the most positive message you can send.”
Ellie’s disability means she stands at 4ft 1in and would make her the smallest contest ever in the history of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, just ahead of current series contestant and Olympic gymnast Claudia Fragapane, who was booted from the show over the weekend.
Insiders say Ellie’s height is not an issue, as they have “smaller male dancers” to pair her with, such as Claudia’s dance partner AJ Pritchard.
Another insider told The Mirror newspaper: ” Claudia Fragapane is only 4ft 7in – that wasn’t an issue whatsoever when she was paired with AJ Pritchard.
“We have lots of smaller male dancers who would be just fine.”

Matthew McConaughey wants to make film with Sandra Bullock

OHMYGOSSIP — Matthew McConaughey and Sandra Bullock want to make another film together.
The former couple previously starred in legal thriller ‘A Time to Kill’ in 1996, and though things didn’t work out romantically between them, they have remained close friends and are looking for a new joint project.
Matthew said of the 52-year-old actress: “We dated for a while after ‘A Time to Kill’, and we’re still friends. She and I have another version of our relationship to put on film, and we’re looking for something.
“She’s not a little girl. She’s a woman. She could run a country.”
The 47-year-old actor – who has kids Levi, eight, Vida, six, and Livingston, three, with wife Camila Alves – became widely associated with romantic comedies in the 2000s, and despite their light subject matter, he insists the performances are much harder to get right than people think.
He told Playboy magazine: “People say, ‘The dramas you do now have to be so much harder,’ but that’s not true.
“In a romantic comedy, you can laugh but not too loud or the audience may think you’re crazy. You can love hard, but hey, just a little less tongue.
“You can get angry, but don’t get too angry because you’ll sink the ship and won’t make it back when the characters get back together in the third act.
And Matthew admitted it was hard for him to break out from the genre because he wasn’t offered dramatic roles.
He added: “I also dove into some dramas when I was doing romantic comedies – ‘We Are Marshall’, ‘Two for the Money’ – but I had to take a major pay cut and fight for them. There were 10 guys ahead of me who could have taken those roles. No one was looking for me to do dramas.”

Ruby Rose in talks for Pitch Perfect 3

OHMYGOSSIP — Ruby Rose is in talks to join the cast of ‘Pitch Perfect 3’.
The 30-year-old actress has begun the negotiations to secure a part in the next instalment of the musical comedy franchise, which is set for release in 2017.
Ruby will join returning cast members Anna Kendrick – who plays lead character Beca – Rebel Wilson, who plays Fat Amy, and Brittany Snow, who portrays the role of Chloe, who have all already signed up to take part in the upcoming movie.
As of yet, details of Ruby’s role in the production have not been revealed, and details of the story – which has been written by Kay Cannon with additional drafts from Mike White and Dana Fox – have also not yet been announced.
Directorial duties will come from Trish Sie, who is taking over from Elizabeth Banks after her work behind the camera for ‘Pitch Perfect 2’.
Elizabeth will, however, be reprising her role as Gail, as well as remaining on the producing team with her husband Max Handelman of Brownstone Productions, and Paul Brooks of Gold Circle Entertainment.
And Ruby will no doubt be hoping the filming process goes without a hitch, as she recently revealed she almost drowned during the filming of a water scene for the movie ‘Meg’, and was even more worried when the director John Turteltaub thought she was just acting for the intense shark scene, rather than trying to rescue herself.
Ruby said: “John thought I was acting, and I was acting for a little bit, but then I really needed them to throw me something to get out of the water.
“(John) was like, ‘Just hold, this is great, this is amazing.’ And I was thinking, ‘This is not fantastic, I’m sinking’.”
‘Pitch Perfect 3’ is slated for release on December 22 2017.

Margot Robbie and David Ayer sign up for female supervillain spin-off

OHMYGOSSIP — Margot Robbie and ‘Suicide Squad’ director David Ayer are reuniting for ‘Gotham City Sirens’.
The 26-year-old actress – who is also an executive producer on the project – will reprise her role as sexy, psychotic supervillain Harley Quinn in the new movie, which will focus on the women from the DC comics, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
In the recent comic series, which the movie will be based on, Catwoman and Poison Ivy featured alongside Harley and could appear in the upcoming film.
‘Sherlock Holmes 3’ writer Geneva Robertson-Dworet is penning the script.
In September, Robbie was reported to have signed a “first-look” deal with Warner Bros. to produce the Quinn spin-off film.
She is said to have fallen in love with the character after portraying her in ‘Suicide Squad’.
It’s not known whether Quinn’s dangerous lover The Joker (Jared Leto) will star in the spin-off or Batman (Ben Affleck), who is traditionally the superhero trying to stop the pair’s criminal plans.
But Robbie has previously admitted she would love Quinn and The Joker to reunite.
She said: “I’m trying to make that happen. Not for anything specifically, but just something – there’s so much more to do.”
Meanwhile, Warner Bros is also working on a ‘Suicide Squad’ sequel and a spin-off for Will Smith’s character Deadshot.

The one-off special, titled ‘Graham Norton’s Big Red Chair’, will see the 53-year-old comedian look back on some of the best moments from the part of the show that sees him invite members of the public to sit in the chair and keep him and his celebrity guests entertained, or risk getting thrown out of the seat.
Graham will also give viewers a look behind the scenes of the programme and the origin of the segment on the BBC1 show.
In the meantime, fans of the programme will be able to tune on December 23 for the Christmas special of ‘The Graham Norton Show’.
The special will feature a whole host of stars, including Will Smith, Dame Helen Mirren and Naomie Harris, who will be talking all about their forthcoming film ‘Collateral Beauty’.

And singer Katie Melua will be providing some live music with a performance of her new song ‘The Little Swallow’.
Meanwhile, Graham previously admitted he hopes to retire before the age of 60, insisting he does not wish to hang on too long.
He said: “You want to get out when people are still watching your show.
“You don’t want it to be when people say: ‘That is still on, that is still a thing?'”
Graham added: “The thing no one wants is the inching backwards, where you’re kind of going: ‘Yes the cast of Towie can come on…’ That’s about retiring when you’re on top.”

Lauren Goodger will spend Christmas in prison

OHMYGOSSIP — Lauren Goodger is to spend Christmas in prison with her boyfriend.
The 30-year-old reality TV star has revealed she would love nothing more than to spend the festive period with her boyfriend Joey Morrison, who is currently serving an 18-year sentence for offences including burglary and drug dealing, and would gladly spend December 25 with her beau instead of being at home with her family if the prison was open.
She shared: “I’m going to visit him over the Christmas period and I really wanted to see him on Christmas Day but sadly the prison is closed.
“I’m gutted because I wanted to give him something to look forward to. I wanted to take him a Christmas meal will all the trimmings, but I’m not allowed to. I’ve already sent him trainers and tracksuits – but that’s all I can send.”
Lauren has been dating Joey since September, having previously been friends with him, and has revealed she would like to have a baby with him in 2017.
She told Closer magazine: “I’ll have [a baby] next year. I want one right now, really. Hopefully I’ll have a little girl, but if I have a boy first, then it’s fine because she’ll have an older brother.”
The brunette beauty returned to ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ earlier this year after taking a four-year break from the show, and she insisted at the time that she was not looking to find a man.
The curvaceous star – who split from Jake McLean in May – said: “Sadly I don’t think I’ll be the sexiest girl on the show – there are so many hotties. I’ll be the old one, not drinking and being boring.
“There’s little chance of romance either – there are no fit guys on ‘The Only Way Is Essex’. Attractive men don’t go on it.”

Chris Tarrant reveals hie Kerry Katona fear

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Tarrant dreads being “stuck on an island with Kerry Katona”.
The 70-year-old TV presenter is currently taking a break from the spotlight, but has revealed he would not accept an offer to star on a reality show because he does not want to be marooned with the Atomic Kitten singer.
Asked if there were any current shows he wishes he was presenting, Chris replied: “No, I worked like a dog for a long time and I don’t want to do any more. I don’t want to stop yet. I’m having a break and we’ll see what’s around next year.
“If there’s something I want to do I’ll do it and if not I won’t. I get asked to do all the reality TV shows but I don’t want to be stuck on an island with Kerry Katona.”
Chris has also rubbished the idea of returning to ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?’, which aired for 15 seasons on ITV, saying he is glad to have walked away from the programme at the right time.
He told the Metro newspaper: “We’d all decided we’d had enough. People have shouted ‘Phone a friend’ at me three times this morning. I’ve always left things when I’ve had a good time and it’s time to move on.”
In more recent years, Chris has been presenting ‘Extreme Railway Journeys’, which sees him explore the most dangerous railway lines, and he has relished working outdoors.
He said: “When we started I was still doing ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’ and I thought it would be nice to get outside.
“I’ve been stuck in radio and TV studios for 20 years. We’ve now done 168,212 miles since we started, which is four times around the world.”

He told heat! magazine: “Well, I do like the crazy ones! She’s so sellable.
“I can see Honey G dolls and Honey G glasses and Honey G caps. She’s on the [‘X Factor’] tour as well. She’s already a star.
“She came into my dressing room all the time and she worked so hard. I think this will change her life forever, and she’ll make a lot of money.”

Obviously, with Syco, I know the team really well. We get on really well so it would be lovely to be signed by them because the relationship is already formed.”

Riz Ahmed reveals his Rogue One: A Star Wars Story casting fears

OHMYGOSSIP — Riz Ahmed feared he had blown his chance of appearing in ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ after behaving like a “psychopath”.
The London-born actor sent a dozen recordings of auditions to director Gareth Edwards, but Riz worried that his over-enthusiastic attitude had undermined his chances of securing the role of rebel pilot Bodhi Rook.
The 34-year-old star told The Sun newspaper: “Gareth said he wanted me to put myself on tape and sent me his personal email address.
“Big mistake. That day I sent him two versions of the scene and over the next 12 days, I sent him 12. I thought I had blown it on a psychopath level.”
Riz also admitted he is still in a state of shock after being cast in one of the most loved movie franchises in history.
He shared: “I just couldn’t believe it. Yeah, straight up! I had to pinch myself – still not sure it’s fully sunk in. Hopefully it’ll sink in by the time the movie opens.”
In the new film, Riz’s on-screen character initially works for the Empire but switches his allegiance during the course of the film. And the actor insisted ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ tells an especially timely narrative.
He told CBS News: “It’s important that art and cinema asks important questions and asks us about where our moral compass lies, as well as kind of providing entertainment and some escapism.”
Riz said the new sci-fi movie has the potential to make a big cultural impact.
He shared: “I think ‘Star Wars’ has the potential to really shape culture and lead the way.”

Matt Terry entered X Factor after being dumped

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Terry only entered ‘The X Factor’ after his girlfriend dumped him.
The 23-year-old singer – who triumphed on the ITV talent show over the weekend – says it was the breakdown of his relationship with dancer Jasmine Avis that inspired him to audition for the show.
He said: “That was the start of everything changing. At the time it was really tough because she ended it, it was her choice. We just spent so much time together. We were in our own little bubble. She wanted to be a dancer and I wanted to be a singer. It’s worked out for the best.”
However, Matt insists he isn’t looking for a relationship right now as he wants to concentrate on himself and his music.
He added: “I’m not looking for love, I can’t wait to start writing. It’s important to use your life experiences. It’s my story to tell. I’ve just gotten out of a three-year relationship and now is my time to concentrate on myself. I’m going to have fun and meet people …
“She hasn’t tried to get back with me, she sticks by her decision. We’re friends as we’ve got the same friendship group. She’s wished me luck throughout the competition and has been supportive.”
Meanwhile, Matt is keen to make sure his parents Sharon and Bob have a nice holiday after all their support.
He added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I’d love to pay off their mortgage one day. But first, my mum and dad deserve to go somewhere really nice and warm. They’ve been behind me my entire life and are so giving.
“I’d like to send them somewhere nice and hot to treat them. When I heard I’d won, all I could see was my family’s faces. They were crying, all emotional and over the moon. It’s all I’ve ever wanted, to make them proud.”
