Danielle Armstrong to make cameo in The Only Way is Essex

OHMYGOSSIP — Danielle Armstrong might make a “cameo” appearance in ‘The Only Way is Essex’.
The 28-year-old reality TV star only quit the ITVBe show in Monday (19.12.1) night’s festive special ‘The Only Way is Essexmas’ but it seems she’s already thinking about making a return next year as she’d still like to be involved in the big events on screen.
She explained: “I’m not turning my back on it and saying you’ll never see me again. It is a reality show so they are my friends in real life. If Tommy Mallet and Georgia Kousoulou get engaged, I will be at their engagement party and I will always be open to doing the odd cameo. ‘TOWIE’ made me what I am today. I always said when I joined the show, if I got a successful business and bought my own property, I would feel I’d achieved what I wanted to. And that’s what I’ve been about to do.”
The blonde bombshell – who joined the reality TV series three years ago – felt she had no choice but to leave the programme when she started dating former footballer Daniel Spiller, 35, because she could no longer be around or film with her ex-boyfriend James ‘Lockie’ Lock – who’s also on the show – following their split earlier this year.
She explained: “I’d come to the end of my ‘TOWIE’ journey. Everyone focused on Danni and Lockie and now there is no more Danni and Lockie. I haven’t got anything bad to say about him, he just wasn’t a good boyfriend. I can’t see myself moving on in my life if I’m still being around my ex-boyfriend having to film with him. I’m 28 now, in the next five years I want to settle down and meet someone and have things I wanted with James.”
And, although she’s sad that things between her and the husky-voiced hunk didn’t work out, Danielle is ready to throw herself head first into her romance with Daniel.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, she said: “The sparks were there. I’d just broken up with James, so I didn’t want anything serious and I knew he’d just broken p with his girlfriend. But when you spend time with someone it’s a natural progression. I’m really fond of him but it’s still early days and we’re not official or anything.”

Chris Pratt reveals why he accepted Passengers role

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Pratt took on ‘Passengers’ because it was “unlike anything” he’d done before.
The 37-year-old actor stars alongside Jennifer Lawrence in the upcoming sci-fi fantasy, and has praised screenwriter Jon Spaihts on his “magnificent” work on the script which drew him to the project.
Asked why he decided to take on the role, Chris said: “You’ll see. When you see this movie you’ll see. We don’t want to spoil too much about it.
“He (Jon) is a magnificent screenwriter, he painted such a vivid picture and he’s created a scenario for these two humans that are set in a sci-fi world, it’s unlike anything you’ve ever seen before.
“It evokes such emotion, compassion, raw questions about the nature of man and shame, and guilt, and redemption, it’s an amazing story.”
And Chris also discussed the trailer for the movie, saying the had “intentionally” left out large parts of the plot.
He added: “Nothing you’ve seen in the trailer comes close to telling you what the story is about, because we’re intentionally not telling you what the story is about. It’s best served to an audience who doesn’t know what they’re about to digest.”
Meanwhile, Chris – who has four-year-old son Jack with his wife Anna Faris – said he would love to be able to take home part of the set.
Asked by Collider.com which set location he would like to have in his own house, Chris said: “I would probably take the observatory, that was pretty sweet.
“There’s a scene where we see a red dwarf passing by, like our ship passes by this giant star, and we see it from the observatory. It’s an area where you can just sit down, hang out, and look out into space and ask the observatory questions about where we are.
“That would be pretty awesome.”

Dick Van Dyke confirms Mary Poppins return

OHMYGOSSIP — Dick Van Dyke will star in ‘Mary Poppins Returns’.
The 91-year-old actor portrayed jack-of-all-trades Bert in the classic 1964 musical movie, and he has confirmed he will return for the sequel, admitting he has been impressed with the cast already announced for the forthcoming film.
He said: “This one supposedly takes place 20 years later and the kids are all grown up.
“It’s a great cast – Meryl Streep, Angela Lansbury and that guy [Lin-Manuel Miranda] from ‘Hamilton’.”
Van Dyke insisted he has no intention of retiring from acting because he thinks having a quieter lifestyle would make him age quicker.
He said: “I think it’s the worst thing you can do.
“Certain people who do retire suddenly age. I think you have to stay active.”
The Hollywood actor “just knew” he had to be a part of the original movie – which starred Julie Andrews as the titular character – as soon as he heard the score.
He added to The Hollywood Reporter: “There was a spirit about that thing from the very beginning.
“Walt [Disney] had me in, and I heard the score and saw the scenes storyboarded on a wall, and I just knew.”
Emily Blunt is set to star in the titular role in the upcoming film, and Emily Mortimer is to play Jane Banks with Ben Whishaw as Michael Banks.
Van Dyke – who was born in Missouri in the US – recently admitted someone should’ve told him his fake London accent he put on for the film wasn’t up to scratch.
He said: “Someone should have told me I needed to work on my Cockney accent. Nearly everyone in the ‘Mary Poppins’ cast was a Brit but no one said anything.
“I was given an Irish coach whose Cockney was much better than mine. Years later I asked Julie [Andrews], “Why didn’t you tell me?” She said it was because I was working so hard.”

New Thor: Ragnarok details revealed

OHMYGOSSIP — The planet Sakaar will be heavily featured in ‘Thor: Ragnarok’.
Director Taika Waititi has confirmed that the planet – which is a home to refugees from other worlds due to its location next to a wormhole in space – will be vital to the new movie, which stars Chris Hemsworth as the titular hero.
Speaking to Total Film, he said:” Sakaar was just an insane, far-off, futuristic place which was the biggest shift for the film and these characters…I was really excited when Kevin [Feige] and the rest of Marvel jumped on board with the idea to use [Jack] Kirby as a big influence in the design of the film. What’s really hard is staying authentic.”
The movie will see The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) try to help his Avengers teammate with a huge threat looming over Asgard.
And in the ‘Planet Hulk’ comic storyline, Sakaar is where Thor reunites with The Hulk.
Meanwhile Taika recently insisted he wanted to make an “awesome” standalone film so did not pay much attention to 2011’s ‘Thor’ or 2013’s ‘Thor: The Dark World’, and admitted he has “no idea” whether his motion picture with blend with the first two.
In a Reddit AMA, he wrote: “I made an effort to ignore the fact there are other Thor films.
“I honestly know NOTHING outside of what I’m doing. I’m trying to ignore the rest of the universe and just make my own awesome movie.
“It will be a nice addition to the Taika Waititi box-set though. (sic)”

Danielle Armstrong confirms TOWIE exit

OHMYGOSSIP — Danielle Armstrong has quit ‘The Only Way is Essex’.
The blonde beauty confirmed her departure from the ITVBe show following last night’s (19.12.16) Essexmas special, in which she clashed with ex-boyfriend James Lock for one final time before admitting she feels “really sad” to have left the reality series.
In a video posted on the ITV website after the episode, she said: “I said goodbye to ‘The Only Way Is Essex’, it is really sad, I feel really emotional today.
“I just want everyone to know that this is something I have been thinking about for the last month, six weeks, and I feel like all the viewers that loves the show has seen me and James and our whole mental relationship.
“Go from the makeups, the breakups, the tears, the dramas, everything.
“The last thing I wanted was to leave tonight knowing we didn’t leave things on good terms.”
Danielle – who is dating former Millwall footballer Danny Spiller – is rumoured to be entering the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house in January, and she admitted to being “excited” about a new chapter in her life.
She said: “I’ve got my shop that’s going from strength to strength and I have met someone new, that I’m excited about, it’s still very early days but I can see it going somewhere too.
“I just think sometimes change is good. I’m excited for this next chapter in my life.
“The girls get it, they know I’m happy they can see that I’ve got things to look forward to so I’m pleased that we managed to have that little girlie chat tonight.”
During the festive episode, Danielle and James had an explosive row, but both later admitted their relationship wasn’t to be before wishing each other well.
He told her: “I do wish you all the best, I mean that.
“I’m sure you’re going to go off and have the fairytale ending you’ve always wanted and I wish that for you.”
Danielle – who has appeared in ‘TOWIE’ since 2013’s series 10 – then kissed him on the cheek before getting into a waiting car with tears in her eyes.

Claire Sweeney to remember dad at Christmas

OHMYGOSSIP — Claire Sweeney will “cherish the memory” of her father on Christmas Day.
The former ‘Brookside’ actress’ beloved dad Ken died on 25 December last year, but she’s determined the holiday won’t be tinged by sadness and she’d rather celebrate his life and think of their happy memories.
She said: “I’m determined not to make Christmas a sad time.
“He was ill and we didn’t want him having a long, slow death.
“He asked to come out of hospital so he came home and died. That’s what he wanted and it was the best thing for him.
“We’ll raise a toast to him and we’ll think and talk about him but it won’t be devastating and Christmas Days won’t be spoiled forever because we cherish his memory and we’ll remember the happy Christmases…
“At 9pm, which is the time he died, I’ll get a bottle of cava and we’ll have a toast.”
The 45-year-old star loves the festive season and having her two-year-old son Jaxon – who she has with ex-partner Daniel Reilly – only makes it more exciting.
She said: “I’d put my decorations up in October if I could.
“I’m like a child at Christmas and I think having Jaxon will send me over the edge this year.
“It’s like a new world of Christmases – he believes in Santa so it’s going to be wonderful.
“Last year, I waited until he’d gone to sleep and put up the decorations on my own. That’s how I’ve done it the last couple of years – with a glass of wine and the telly on.
“I love this time of year. It’s the twinkly lights. I’m that shallow!”

Tisha Merry quits Coronation Street

OHMYGOSSIP — Tisha Merry has quit ‘Coronation Street’.
The 23-year-old actress has decided to bow out of the long-running soap as Weatherfield bistro waitress Steph Britton following three years on the show because she wants to spread her wings and try her hand at something different.
A source told The Sun Online: “Tish has had an amazing couple of years where she’s been at the fore of some of ‘Corrie’s biggest storylines, but feels it’s now time for a change.”
The brunette beauty – whose contract is up next year – has reportedly filmed her departure scenes but bosses are remaining tight lipped on how her alter ego will exit the cobbles.
Rumours of her departure began swirling last week when her loose-lipped co-star Catherine Tyldesley – who portrays busty blonde barmaid Eva Price – accidentally posted a photograph online of her, Tisha and Katie McGlynn alongside a heartfelt caption.
She said: “#throwback … these sexy ladies. Gonna miss our Tish @katiexmcglynn @missdrewmerry93, (sic)” followed by three kiss emojis.
And it seems Tisha isn’t the only one departing the popular soap over the next few months as it’s believed a huge explosion will rock Weatherfield in due course and turn things upside down again as “at least one” of the characters is likely to die.
A source said previously: “This is going to be up there with some of the best scenes in Corrie history. Characters are going to be crawling through flames to escape, and there’s talk of killing at least one character.”
And Kate Oates, the show’s new producer, has also reportedly lined up director Tony Prescott – who has worked on all of ‘Coronation Street’s live episodes – to ensure things go swimmingly.
The insider added: “The plans being put together are huge and Kate bringing in Tony shows that it’s going to be far from a straightforward one.
“Tony is considered one of the big guns of directing because he’s great with complicated and intense storylines. Kate also loves a big stunt. She was behind the helicopter crash on ‘Emmerdale’ which killed off Ruby Haswell. It’s going to be carnage.”

Danniella Westbrook is whitening teeth for a living

OHMYGOSSIP — Danniella Westbrook is whitening people’s teeth for a living.
The 43-year-old actress has revealed her new profession – just days after declaring herself homeless – and has hinted that she has moved up North from Kent in South East England to Liverpool just to make ends meet.
Sharing a picture of beauty salon Lip Couture’s shop front in city, she wrote on Instagram: “Make your mates WELL JEL this Christmas Book now. Spaces limited but available for @essexsmiles here in Liverpool @lipcoutureltd all teeth whitening done by me. calls us & treat yourself get the Hollywood smile.
Men welcome too #essexsmiles #lipcoutoure #liverpool #smilecouture (sic)”
The former ‘EastEnders’ star has been staying “here there and everywhere” in recent weeks after she was turfed out of her home and had her car taken off her because she failed to keep up with the payments.
A source said: “She’s been busy viewing but hasn’t found her new home. Obviously timing isn’t great with it being so close to Christmas but she isn’t rushing into anything and is staying with friends and family over the festive period. Danniella now has a whole new team around her after spending a lot of 2016 surrounded by toxic people.”
Danniella hasn’t had the best of luck recently as she appeared to be at death’s door over the summer when she was struck down with septicaemia.
The blonde star spent weeks in hospital while doctors tried to get the infection, which can be fatal if not treated, under control with antibiotics but she was later informed she had no choice but to have all of her teeth ripped out after the bacteria spread to the roof of her mouth.
She said at the time when people were speculating she was pregnant: “I’ve been in hospital. I’ve had to have all my teeth removed for a blood and bone infection, through no fault of my own. I’m not on drugs and I’m not pregnant … I’m just very, very, poorly with a blood infection.”
Her toothless look and prolonged hospital stay plunged the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ star – who famously lost her septum in 2000 due her excessive use of cocaine – into deep depression and this in turn lead to her trying to overdose on tablets.
Danniella – who has son Kai, 20, and 13-year-old daughter Jody – said: “When you relapse and you take drugs, you don’t see that [leaving the kids]. All you see is selfishness and a way out. So you carry on taking more drugs because you’re so low on such a comedown that you just think you want to kill yourself. I didn’t overdose on cocaine. I was just taking tablets orally.”
This wasn’t the first time Danniella has relapsed though, as she previously fell off the wagon in 2014 when life got tough.

Ore Oduba wants to start a family with wife Portia

OHMYGOSSIP — Ore Oduba wants to start a family.
The 30-year-old BBC sports presenter has revealed his next step after his triumphant win on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ last weekend is to catch up for lost time with his spouse Portia, who he married in 2015, and start thinking about having a baby.
He said: “We are looking forward to having a family but we haven’t necessarily been in one place or one time together.
“We are waiting for the time to be settled after this whole whirlwind and being in the same city will help.”
And while he is over the moon to be announced as this year’s winner of the ballroom and latin show, he has admitted that it was stressful being separated from his wife.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “It’s been incredibly difficult not being together day to day. With her living up North, we’ve had to spend a lot of time apart. It has been stressful and strenuous for her. I’d imagine it’s not easy to be a ‘Strictly’ partner. She had her own work, family and friends in Manchester but then you’ve got the 24/7 support role that is being my wife. She had it full-on but she loved it.”
Lifting the famous glitterball trophy has always been a dream of his and he’s thrilled he’s managed to achieve that and marry the love of his life within a space of 12 months.
He said: “The thought of getting married and being on ‘Strictly’ were from a very young age. I dreamt of being a sports broadcaster but it was more of an ambition. However, it’s out of my hands finding someone you want to spend the rest of your life with. And being on ‘Strictly’ is out of control. It’s a dream, I can’t believe I’ve done two of those things in a year.”

Dick Van Dyke: 'No one' told me my Mary Poppins accent was bad

OHMYGOSSIP — Dick Van Dyke says “no-one said anything” about his accent in ‘Mary Poppins’.
The 90-year-old actor famously played Bert in the 1964 musical movie alongside Julie Andrews – who starred as the titular Mary Poppins – but has admitted his fake accent wasn’t up to scratch, and none of the cast told him.
Speaking to the Observer newspaper, Dick said: “Someone should have told me I needed to work on my Cockney accent.
The news comes as Disney plan to reboot the classic movie in the form of ‘Mary Poppins Returns’, which is set to be released in time for Christmas 2018 and will star Emily Blunt in the lead role.
Speaking about her casting, Emily said previously: “It is my dream.
“I mean, she’s such an iconic nostalgic figure for people. So it’s a gift to give to my kids that I get to be this generation’s Mary Poppins.
“We did an incredible workshop of the script a few weeks back. It’s so heart racing, so exciting. It’s a complete different re-imagining of the whole thing. And I’m scared and thrilled to be in it and it’s cool.”
As of yet, the role of Bert has not been recast for the upcoming remake, but Colin Firth, Meryl Streep, and Ben Whishaw are also set to star.

Ian Helfer: Bryan Cranston is an 'unbelievable actor'

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Why Him?’ screenwriter Ian Helfer has dubbed Bryan Cranston as “an unbelievable actor”.
The 60-year-old actor stars as Ned in the upcoming comedy film, and Ian – who penned the script for project which also stars James Franco and Zoey Deutch – has nothing but praise for the former ‘Breaking Bad’ actor.
Speaking to Variety at the premiere in Los Angeles on Saturday night (17.12.16), Ian said: “Bryan is an unbelievable actor, an American treasure. He hasn’t done comedy since ‘Malcolm in the Middle’ 20 years ago, and we were so thrilled that he wanted to do his first comedy with us.”
‘Why Him?’ tells the story of an overprotective and loving father (Bryan) who goes to visit his daughter Stephanie (Zoey) at Stanford for the holiday season, only to be faced with her billionaire boyfriend Laird (James), who Ned believes to be wildly inappropriate for his young daughter. Things then get more complicated when Ned learns Laird is preparing to ask Stephanie for his hand in marriage.
Meanwhile, Ian also admitted he has been in a similar situation to the story, where his girlfriend’s father was “not happy” to see him.
He said: “I’m not going to name names, but I briefly dated a very famous news man’s daughter, and at the time I was a very unsuccessful actor in New York, and his daughter brought me to his house.
“That guy was so not happy to see me. I was the last thing he wanted to see. It was so funny because he was in everyone’s living room at seven o’clock every night.”
Elsewhere at the premiere, Megan Mullally – who plays Barb, Ned’s wife and Stephanie’s mother – gushed about her first “big part in a big movie.”
She said: “Have you ever seen me in a big part in a big movie? No. This is my coming out party. This is a big deal for me; I was 57 years old, and I had never gotten a big part in a big movie.”

Simon Cowell signs 5 After Midnight

OHMYGOSSIP — Simon Cowell has signed 5 After Midnight to his record label.
The 56-year-old music mogul was devastated when the trio were given the boot from ‘The X Factor’ semi-final – placing third – two weeks ago but it seems he doesn’t want them to slip through his fingers and be snapped up by a rival as he’s dished them out a deal through Syco Records in the hope they’ll become an international success.
A source told The Daily Star newspaper: “The boys are overjoyed and can’t believe they are signing to Syco. Simon has been a big fan of 5AM throughout the series. Out of all the artists he thinks 5AM have the biggest gap in the market. There are very few boybands around at the moment and even fewer urban boybands who dance.”
Simon clearly saw a chance for history to repeat itself as his record company also signed One Direction – who became one of the biggest boy bands in the world but are now on a hiatus – after they placed third in the same singing competition in 2010.
5 After Midnight – comprised of Kieran Alleyne, Nathan Lewis and Jordan Lee – aren’t the only act from this year’s series to receive a deal through Syco Records as controversial wannabe rapper Honey G has also been offered a one-track contract.
She said recently: “I am ecstatic to announce I have been Signed by Syco, Simon Cowell’s record label and will be releasing my first single on 23rd December.”
But it seems Honey G – whose real name is Anna Gilford – isn’t planning to stop at just one song as she’s hoping to become a worldwide success like One Direction.
She explained: “I’m looking to come in at the level that One Direction came in at. I know that I can create that hype. I just need the opportunity to be able to sell the records, get the right PR behind me, get the right team behind me that’s really going to blow me up.”

Mark Dolan joins The Jump

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Dolan will take part in the forthcoming series of ‘The Jump’.
The 42-year-old comedian – who was known for presenting ‘Balls of Steel’ from 2005 until the show ended in 2008 – has agreed to slip into his thermal suit and ski boots and hit the snowy slopes in Austria for the winter sports programme next month.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I’m delighted to be taking part – and by delighted, I mean absolutely bloody terrified. However, I’m confident I will excel in the après-ski (the social activities following a day’s skiing). That’s a sport, isn’t it?”
And it’s hardly surprising the funnyman is riddled with nerves as last year’s show was responsible for a number of celebrities experiencing life-changing injuries.
The last series saw gymnast Beth Tweddle break her back, ‘Made in Chelsea’ star Mark-Francis Vandelli fracture his ankle and Rebecca Adlington dislocate her shoulder.
The spike in injuries meant bosses were forced to revisit the risky format and discuss whether it was worth bringing it back for another series at the beginning of next year.
However, after bosses managed to persuade a good amount of stars to take part in the forthcoming series, producers were given the go-ahead to do another installment.
The full line up for the forthcoming series is yet to be confirmed but Mark will certainly have stiff competition as she will go up against Lydia Bright, Vogue Williams, Caprice, Josie Gibson, Spencer Matthews and Olympic gymnast Louis Smith in January.

Ore Oduba starts mega-money bidding war

OHMYGOSSIP — Ore Oduba has started a mega-money bidding war between channels.
The 30-year-old sports presenter won over the hearts of the nation last weekend when he lifted the famous glitterball trophy on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ and now bosses from the BBC – who have worked with the hunk since 2008 – would like to make him a permanent presenter on the topical evening programme ‘The One Show’.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “It’s clear Ore’s a rising star and he’s now a household name because of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’. He was given his ‘One Show’ presenting debut during ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ in a really tricky episode where he had to interview Sir Cliff Richard, but passed the test with flying colours.”
But TV executives at the BBC will need to work fast if they want to secure the handsome journalist as ITV have reportedly slapped down a £500,000 deal as they liked the way he presented ‘This Morning’ while Phillip Schofield was away last month.
The insider explained: “There’s a sense of urgency to get him presenting some other programmes and have him based in London now after his spot on ‘This Morning’.”
And if Ore does decide to jump across to ITV next year, he won’t be the first to walk away from the BBC as Susanna Reid moved to ‘Good Morning Britain’ from ‘BBC Breakfast’ after she finished second on the ballroom and latin show in 2013.
Meanwhile, Ore is determined to focus on his beautiful wife Portia – who he married last year – for the time being as he feels terrible that she had to travel to London from their home in Manchester every weekend to support him in the competition.
He said recently: “With her living up North, we’ve had to spend a lot of time apart. It’s been stressful and strenuous for her. I’d imagine it’s not easy to be a ‘Strictly…’ partner. She had her own work, family and friends in Manchester but then you’ve got the 24/7 support role that is being my wife. She had it full-on but she loved it.”

Ben Affleck worried Batman script isn't 'good enough'

OHMYGOSSIP — Ben Affleck won’t make ‘The Batman’ if the script isn’t “good enough”.
The 44-year-old actor is currently penning the script for the solo movie – which he plans to both star in and direct when it goes to production next year – and has said he’s determined to find a winning formula for his storyline as he would hate to make a “mediocre version” of a Batman movie.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly magazine, he said: “I’m still working on the script. I’m not going to write and direct anything that I don’t think is good enough to be made.
“I’m definitely going to make sure I have something that is special –  there’s not enough money in the world to make a mediocre version of Batman worth it.”
Whilst the majority of the movie’s plot details are being kept under wraps, it was revealed last month that Joe Manganiello would be stepping up to take on the role of supervillain Deathstroke.
The 39-year-old actor said at the time that this take on The Caped Crusader would be “fresh”, and is set to “surprise” audiences.
He said: “When I met Ben we sat down and we talked about, you know, the role. We talked about the movie. His take is a fresh take but I think the audience is going to be surprised. Because it’s a road that no one’s really gone down that’s completely integral to who Batman is. And I think it’s gonna be refreshing but at the same time completely familiar. But it’s going to take this franchise in a direction that I think a lot of people are going to be really happy about.”
‘The Batman’ – the latest confirmed project in the DC Extended Universe from Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Entertainment – is expected to be released in 2018.

Theo James 'done' with Underworld

OHMYGOSSIP — Theo James says his role in the ‘Underworld’ series is “done”.
The 32-year-old actor stars as David – the protégé and ally to Kate Beckinsale’s main character Selene – in the action horror film franchise, and despite featuring in the upcoming ‘Underworld: Blood Wars’ instalment, he says his time with the franchise is over now that “new characters” have been introduced.
He said: “I think David’s storyline is done. I think his arc has been fully realised. I think now is the time for the new characters that have been introduced to the story to take the helm, mainly Bradley James (who plays antagonist Varga), who will be the next lead.”
And it isn’t just the ‘Underworld’ series that Theo is stepping away from, as he also said he “probably won’t be in” the next instalment of the ‘Divergent’ franchise, in which he plays Tobias ‘Four’ Eaton.
After the third instalment ‘Allegiant’ underperformed at the box office, it was speculated that ‘Ascendant’ would be made into a television film, although many of the cast were not happy with the decision.
Asked if he had a message to ‘Divergent’ fans, Theo told TooFab.com: “My message would be ‘Thanks for the support.’
“I think it’s a shame that we can’t finish the story, but I think it’s evolving in a place where the actors that have been in the three movies probably won’t be in whatever it evolves to in the future.”
The news comes after Shailene Woodley – who stars as Tris Prior in the sci-fi movie franchise – previously said she wasn’t “interested” in taking part in the project if it moved across to television.
She said: “Last I heard they were trying to make it into a television show. I didn’t sign up to be in a television show. Out of respect to the studio and everyone in involved, they may have changed their mind and may be doing something different, but I’m not necessarily interested in doing a television show.”
