James Franco joins Alien: Covenant

OHMYGOSSIP — James Franco has joined the cast of ‘Alien: Covenant’.
The 38-year-old actor will star alongside the previously announced cast including Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, Katherine Waterston, and Guy Pearce in the sci-fi thriller which will serve as part of the ‘Alien’ film franchise, and as a sequel to Ridley Scott’s 2012 feature ‘Prometheus’.
According to IMDb.com, James will play a character named Branson, although no details about his role have been revealed.
When asked by HeyUGuys.com about his connection to the ‘Alien’ franchise, James said: “I guess the news is out?
“I remember watching ‘Alien’ for the first time, and that was huge.
“I still watch it, I just watched it in the past month and it’s such a good movie. It’s so tight, full of tension, it’s really just a horror movie in space.
“It’s great to be part of it.”
‘Alien: Covenant’ will follow the story of the colony ship Covenant as it heads toward a remote planet. Crew members will discover what they believe is an unchartered paradise, but soon find out all is not what it seems when they meet David (Fassbender), a synthetic and the only survivor of the failed Prometheus expedition.
It is unknown how many years separate the timeline of ‘Prometheus’ and ‘Alien: Covenant’, but it is believed that the 2012 prequel was set roughly 30 years before the events of Ridley Scott’s 1979 hit ‘Alien’.
Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace and Guy Pearce will all reprise their roles – as David, Elizabeth Shaw, and Peter Weyland respectively – whilst Katherine Waterston will play newcomer Daniels.
Also confirmed for the feature are Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, and Demian Bichir, whose roles have yet to be confirmed.
Ridley Scott will helm the movie once again, which is expected to hit cinema screens in May 2017.

Coleen Nolan's trial separation for CBB

OHMYGOSSIP — Coleen Nolan and her husband will undergo a trial separation when she appears on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.
The ‘Loose Women’ presenter has admitted she and musician spouse, Ray Fensome, 58, are battling to save their 17-year relationship and the pair are set to take some time apart while Coleen competes in the reality TV show.
A source told the Daily Star: “Everyone is a bit shocked but Coleen has said she will do it.
“It’s a delicate time so after Christmas she might change her mind but she’s very much on board.”
Speaking previously about her relationship with Ray, Coleen said: “My marriage is in crisis and I won’t lie about it.
“We’re going to do a lot of talking over the next couple of weeks, but if we can’t fix it then I want us to have counselling. The next step is a trial separation.”
The 51-year-old star insists the possibility of separating doesn’t mean they have failed, as it is important they reassess their relationship and see whether they want to save their eight-year marriage.
She added: “But I don’t see that as a failure. It’s important to know what it would be like not to have each other in our lives and it’s a chance to reflect.
“It would be more of a failure if we just ignored it and carried on.”
Coleen – who has sons Shane Jr, 28 and Jake, 24, from her marriage to Shane Richie, and daughter Ciara, 15, with Ray – admitted she and her spouse had faced problems two years ago, but worked through their difficulties, and have found it harder to do that this time around.
She said: “Things have changed massively for us this year.
“The kids are older and need us less and Ray’s job has taken him away more. But instead of evolving with those changes, our relationship has just hit a wall and it’s only when you’re thrown together again you realise the connection you once had is gone.”
The ‘I’m In the Mood for Dancing’ singer struggled with her self-confidence after she turned 50, and was devastated when Ray told her he didn’t “fancy” her anymore six months ago, but insists she won’t change her appearance to please him.
She said: “I suddenly felt invisible as a woman and was looking for ¬reassurance from Ray. Six months ago I said to him, ‘I don’t feel like you fancy me any more’ and I told him he had to answer me honestly.
“I was totally devastated when he said, ‘The thing is, men are visual’. He meant that when he looks at me, he doesn’t fancy me.
“It was very tough to hear, but I’d asked him for the truth and sometimes the truth bloody hurts! He went through a period – perhaps still is – where that physical attraction just wasn’t there for him.”

Coronation Street spoiler: Rosie Webster hit with drugs scandal

OHMYGOSSIP — Coronation Street’s Rosie Webster will return to the cobbles as a drugs mule.
Helen Flanagan’s alter-ego will travel back to Weatherfield from the US in the new year alongside her sister Sophie Webster (Brooke Vincent), and upon heading home the police turn up and search their house for substances, but don’t find anything.
The girls later discover cocaine in Rosie’s bag of sweets, and she insists the drugs were planted on her.
A source said: “Trouble is never far away from the Websters.
“This is the reason they wanted Helen back as Rosie as she immediately brings great storylines with her.
“Rosie tells Sophie someone planted the drugs on her, and is as shocked as her sister when she sees the white powder.”
The drugs are to fall into the hands of Ken Barlow’s (Bill Roache) grandson Adam (Sam Robertson) who offers to sell them, but their skint father Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) decides to sort out the issue himself.
The source added to The Sun newspaper: “The girls panic and decide to bury the drugs but Adam Barlow finds out what they have done and offers to sell the drugs for a fee.
“But, Kevin’s business is struggling following an arson attack and he needs money. So he takes matters into his own hands.”
Helen will return to the soap after a four-year break, during which she had daughter Matilda, who is 17 months old, with partner Scott Sinclair.
Show boss Kate Oates recently revealed Rosie’s return to the cobbles will cause plenty of problems for her sister Sophie.
She previously said: “Rosie is such a colourful character – I thought it’d be great for Sophie. I wanted to see Sophie led up the garden path a little bit and to see her in a bit of trouble.
“And I think that Rosie will cause Sophie a lot of headaches.”

Natalie Portman's daunting role

OHMYGOSSIP — Natalie Portman says it was “daunting” to take on the leading role in ‘Jackie’.
The 35-year-old actress plays former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy in the new movie, which deals with the aftermath of the assassination of her husband, President John F. Kennedy, and Natalie admitted she was initially wary of signing up for the movie.
She told The Wrap: “It did give me pause, because I know the family went through so much, and you don’t ever want to add to anyone’s suffering. I’m sure it’s not pleasant to relive this for anyone who went through it, but at the same time, I think our approach is quite empathetic. I have great respect for the woman she was and what she did and her accomplishments, and I hope and believe it comes through.
“It was very daunting. I had never done a role before that was someone who people knew how she looked and talked and moved so specifically. It put the pressure on to be quite specific. But luckily [director] Pablo Larraín’s approach was so all-encompassing and psychological that I felt that I was able and free to put imagination into it also.”
And Natalie is happy that the movie leaves an air of “mystery” around the late star.
She said: “I have no idea what she was really like. I think that we can only say that this is a fictional presentation based on some conjecture – of course, conjecture that comes from a lot of research. But none of us know her. And I think that’s some of the beauty of the film, that it leaves her a mystery.”

Steve Moffat confirms Jekyll involvement

OHMYGOSSIP — Steven Moffat has confirmed ‘Jekyll’ is in the works.
The ‘Doctor Who’ showrunner has revealed further details about the big screen adaptation of his 2007 TV series – which starred James Nesbitt as a modern day descendant of Dr. Jekyll – revealing he will act as executive producer on the upcoming movie, which has a script in place.
He said: “I’m attached to it as an exec [producer] and there is a screenplay.
“I haven’t been demanding a big say in it. I mean, I did that ages ago … but I think they’re inviting me on, so we’ll see.”
Moffat also hinted he was paid a decent sum for his ideas from the TV series.
He added to Digital Spy: “It’s not like, ‘The b******s took it off me.’
“They take it off you for money, let’s be clear.”
Chris Evans will take on the role of Dr. Tom Jackman, who develops a split personality and begins transforming into a version of Mr. Hyde, in the motion picture, and Ruben Fleischer will direct.
The fictional scientist Dr. Jekyll was created by writer Robert Louis Stevenson in his 19th century novella ‘Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde’ and in the story he invents a serum that turns him into a depraved and hideous man known as Mr. Hyde.
Lionsgate’s ‘Jekyll’ is being produced by Ellen DeGeneres and Jeff Kleeman through their A Very Good Production company.
Anthony Bagarozzi and Charles Mondry have penned the script based on the six episodes of the TV series written by ‘Sherlock’ co-creator Moffat.

Only Fools and Horses won't return

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Only Fools and Horses’ will never return for another series.
Tessa Peake-Jones – who portrayed Rachel ‘Raquel’ Turner in the comedy from 1988 until 2003 – doesn’t think the television sitcom will ever get another installment now that the mastermind behind the storylines John Sullivan has died because it was his “baby” and no one will ever be able to create the chemistry on screen like he did.
Speaking on ‘Loose Women’ on Wednesday (20.12.16), she said: “No [we couldn’t do another episode without him because] it was his baby and he was the genius behind it. For all the success it has had really you can only go back, although all the performances are excellent, you’ll have to go back to the writing and the person who created these rich characters.
“I think he’d be really chuffed to know that today that people are watching every night … He wanted it to be for family. He wanted it to be something that everyone can watch together. He would be very chuffed to know it’s still continuing.”
The 59-year-old actress never realised how successful the comedy was when she rocked up for her audition almost 30 years ago but soon found out at her debut appearance aired that she couldn’t walk around in public without getting recognised.
She explained: “I’ve never watched it up to that point because I was doing theatre. You don’t really get time to watch telly.
When I walked into the first day for the read through, the script was brilliant …
“One of the actors said your life is going to change now, you won’t be able to go on the tube. I thought, I’ve always been on the tube. I’m a London girl didn’t learn to drive until I’m 30; I’m certainly not giving up the tube. I didn’t realise that when it came out on Christmas Day that 24-25 million people would be watching.”
And, although Tessa now stars in ‘Grantchester’, people still ask her about ‘OFAH’.
She said: “‘Only Fools and Horses’ never stops because it’s on extra channels. It’s like it’s continuing with us and we get new fans – youngsters – writing in all the time.”
However, she wishes she was still in contact with the show’s main stars David Jason – who played wheeler and dealer Del Boy Trotter- and Nicholas Lyndhurst, who portrayed his dorky brother Rodney Trotter, but still talks to Gwyneth Strong (Cassandra Trotter) from time to time when their schedules permit.
She said: “Gwyneth and I are good friends. We still keep in touch. I think we all would but everyone is busy and live in different parts of the country so it’s hard to keep up.”

Saara Aalto signs record deal

OHMYGOSSIP — Saara Aalto has signed a record deal.
The ‘X Factor’ runner-up may not have managed to claim the winning title after it was swiped away from her by her rival Matt Terry but that doesn’t mean her singing career is over as she’s just accepted a joint contract with label Sony Music UK and Finland.
Finnish DJ D’Lasso and Hours interviewed the brunette beauty just after she touched back down in Finland on Tuesday (20.12.16) and couldn’t wait to share the news.
Taking to his Twitter account, he wrote: “BREAKING NEWS. Saara Aalto has signed a deal with Sony UK/FI. DREAM BIG #saaraaalto #XFactor2016 #nofear (sic).”
The 29-year-old star’s recent signing will unlikely come as a surprise to fans as Simon Cowell – who joint owns the record label Syco Entertainment with Sony – made no secret of the fact he liked her vocals when she competed on his ITV show this year.
Saara isn’t the only contestant to land a record deal following the end of ‘The X Factor’ two weeks ago, as 5 After Midnight have also scribbled a contract with Syco.
An insider told the Daily Star newspaper: “It was obvious that Saara would get signed but we are a little surprised by 5 After Midnight’s deal. It is common knowledge that they don’t get on as a group and would rather be solo artists.”
Controversial rapper Honey G – whose real name is Anna Gilford – has also been offered a one-track contract over the festive period – despite coming fifth.
She said recently: “I am ecstatic to announce I have been Signed by Syco, Simon Cowell’s record label and will be releasing my first single on 23rd December.”
But it seems Honey G isn’t planning to stop at just one song as she’s hoping to become a worldwide success like One Direction, who came third on the show five years ago.
She explained: “I’m looking to come in at the level that One Direction came in at. I know that I can create that hype. I just need the opportunity to be able to sell the records, get the right PR behind me, get the right team behind me that’s really going to blow me up.”

Gemma Atkinson is 'getting close' to Ryan Giggs

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Atkinson has been “getting close” to Ryan Giggs.
The 32-year-old actress has sparked rumours she may be dating the dark-haired hunk after she was spotted cosying up to the 43-year-old former England footballer at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards, which took place at Birmingham’s Genting Arena on Monday (19.12.16), and wouldn’t “leave his side” at the star-studded bash.
Speaking about the pair’s recent friendly encounter, a source told the Mirror Online: “Ryan and Gemma was seen getting close, she didn’t leave his side.”
However, it is believed the two simply share a strong friendship as Ryan – who ended his nine-year marriage to Stacey Cooke earlier this confessing to having two affairs – has known the former ‘Hollyoaks’ star for 10 years and are “very comfortable” in each other’s company.
The source explained: “They’ve known each other for 10 years so they’re very comfortable in each other’s company.”
And the news the buxom beauty and Ryan were getting close at the event may come as a surprise for some as she has recently split from her boyfriend Olly Foster and has admitted dating again hasn’t even crossed her mind since her relationship ended because she doesn’t “need” a man in her life.
Speaking previously, she said: “Sometimes there are people in your life and it’s just not working out the way you thought. We’ll always be in each other’s life but just as friends.
“We went on a road trip the other week together. Now I can’t get away with ditching sessions as he’s quite strict with me. I’m happily single. I’ve got the dogs and lots going on professionally. It’s nice to be on my own for a bit.
“I have not even thought about dating. I will give it a few months. I’m one of those people who like their own company. I don’t need anyone.”

Ruth Langsford thanks John Middleton for dementia storyline

OHMYGOSSIP — Ruth Langsford has personally thanked John Middleton for portraying dementia “so well” on ‘Emmerdale’.
The ‘This Morning’ host felt she had to express her gratitude to the 63-year-old actor for depicting the chronic disorder on screen so accurately and for helping to spread the word about the condition after her own father Dennis sadly passed away from the illness, which affects the brain, at the age of 84 in 2012.
While presenting the brunchtime show on Tuesday (20.12.16), Ruth told John – who was appearing on the programme as a guest: “I do appreciate how you’ve done this slow burn. It’s all about talking about dementia. Fifteen years ago when my dad had dementia, we wouldn’t have talked about it like this. There was still a slight stigma attached.
“I would like to say thank you from families because it’s not often that dementia gets represented so well and I think, as programme and as an actor – you particularly John – have done it so brilliantly so thank you.”
And the 56-year-old presenter isn’t the only one who has felt a connection to John’s character Ashley Thomas, as the actor has also been approached by viewers during his memory walks for Alzheimer’s Research.
He explained: “I’ve done three memory walks … so many people came up to me and were saying thank you very much for telling this story. You and the storyline and the team are getting this absolutely right. That’s really gratifying.”
The past few months have seen Ashley – who is a vicar at the village church – deteriorate and lose control but this week is set to particularly bad for him after he manages to leave his bed and escape the hospital without anyone seeing.
And with his mindset that of a 19 year old, Ashley attempts to go back to his family home to visit his terminally ill mother but, with his condition plaguing him, he fails to realise the dangers of the outside world and can’t even see cars.
The disease will ultimately lead to Ashley’s death over the festive season and, although he’s sad to be leaving the show after 20 years in the village, John can’t wait to explore other ventures.
He said: “I’m very sad to be leaving ‘Emmerdale’. I love the place, I love everyone who works there and I’ve got some great friends there. Some of them will be great friends of mine for the rest of my life … I’m very sad to leave.”

Mark Millar: Captain America: Civil War was 'bleak'

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Millar found ‘Captain America: Civil War’ “bleak”.
The 46-year-old comic book writer was the brains behind the original 2006 ‘Civil War’ story, and has slammed the 2016 Marvel superhero movie – which sees the titular Captain America (Chris Evans) feud with fellow Avenger Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) – for not featuring “the light as well as the shade” in the form of comic relief moments.
Mark placed the action feature in his ‘Didn’t Really Dig’ category of his blog post entitled ‘Millar’s Top 10 movies of 2016’.
Writing on his website millarworld.tv, the writer said: “‘Civil War’ had a good opening twenty mins, but then I honestly can’t remember what the movie was about. It’s interesting the Russos (Joe and Anthony, the film’s directors) have a background in comedy because it’s really missing in these otherwise well-made pictures and very, very missed.
“I really hope this bleakness doesn’t extend into their two ‘Avengers’ pictures because what made that first ‘Avengers’ work was the light as well as shade and I’ll be sad if that’s all lost like it was in this picture. (sic)”
Meanwhile, the ‘Kick-Ass’ writer did place Marvel’s ‘Doctor Strange’ on his list, where it just scraped through in 10th place for being a “nice, fun Marvel movie”.
He wrote about the movie: “Just a nice, fun Marvel movie. The only comic-book flick to hit my top 10 this year, which feels weird, but the Marvel formula is a solid one and this was a nice hark back to before they went a little too dark and serious and had lots of nice jokes and a*****e-learning-to-be-a-hero leads. (sic)”
Mark’s top film of the year was Disney’s animated feature ‘Zootropolis’.
He said: “Cool, funny and ORIGINAL. I went in expecting nothing and came out texting all my friends to go and see it. Disney ruling the world again this year and as all eyes are on Marvel and ‘Star Wars’ and Pixar let’s tip our hats to Disney Animation who I genuinely think have far surpassed modern Pixar and where the action truly is again. (sic)”

Richard Kelly found S. Darko 'horribly violating'

OHMYGOSSIP — Richard Kelly says the ‘Donnie Darko’ sequel ‘S. Darko’ was “horribly violating”.
The 41-year-old director was at the helm of the original 2001 cult classic, but had no involvement in the 2009 sequel – which was widely considered a flop as it barely broke even at the box office – and he now says the idea of a sequel was one that “made [him] very angry”.
Speaking about ‘S.Darko’, Richard said: “I’ve never seen it – it was horribly violating. It was incredibly painful to think about what they were doing, it made me very angry, filled with rage.”
And Richard believes that his movie was only given a sequel because “people are out of ideas” and are “scared” to do something original.
He added: “I think people are out of ideas, people are scared and that’s Hollywood – it’s recycling past successes. It’s our job as artists to keep forging original paths and try and tell new stories and I’m committed to doing that and I’m trying my best to continue to do that.
“It’s like the love and fear lifeline in ‘Donnie Darko’, people operate from a place of fear for the most part. You’d be surprised about how many people in the business don’t even really love movies at all.”
Despite the film’s sequel being unsuccessful, ‘Donnie Darko’ – which stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Drew Barrymore – has been critically acclaimed and is returning to cinemas this month with a 4K restoration to celebrate the 15th anniversary of its release.
Speaking about the movie’s success, Richard told NME magazine: “I knew we had something special but never in a million years did I think it would connect in the way that it has.
“I mean, I’m just astonished every day when I see new people discovering this film and embracing it and wanting to talk about it and all the imagery and merchandise that has come from it is inspiring because the film was, for quite a while, considered a failure. It was not successful at first so we didn’t come bursting out of the gate, we stumbled out of the gate and fell flat on our face and we had to pick ourselves up and keep going but that’s life y’know, so it’s incredibly inspiring.
“If anything it makes me want to work harder to make sure that the next film that I make lives up to the promise of ‘Donnie Darko’.”

Justin Timberlake 'always wanted' to combine music and film

OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Timberlake “always wanted” to put his music into a film.
The 35-year-old singer handled the soundtrack for the animated movie ‘Trolls’ – as well as acting in the feature – and has now said that combining his passions for both acting and singing was something he had always been interested in doing.
Speaking to Deadline.com about the movie – which has been nominated for a Golden Globe award for Best Original Song for ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling’ – Justin said: “I can honestly say I’ve always wanted to combine the two, do music for a film. I never thought it would be ‘Trolls’ that would be my first foray into that, but I have always wanted to do it.
“It was so fun, every day. Playing a character in the movie as well.”
Director Mike Mitchell said that the idea for the feature – which is based on the popular children’s toys known for their wild hair – came from the lack of “mythology” surrounding the origins of the troll dolls.
He said: “It all came together with that little creature, the troll with the hair.
“The cool thing was there was no story, there was no world. That’s like a great opportunity for us and for all the artists that worked on it that we got to create this entire world and mythology that didn’t exist.”
Meanwhile, Justin previously stated that the movie – which was released last month – has already become a hit with his 20-month-old son Silas, whom he shares with wife Jessica Biel.
He said: “He knows all the characters already! It’s crazy!
“I got to screen it before anybody. I had to screen it before everybody because I had to make sure all the music was working out.”

Chloe Meadows wants date with Marty McKenna

OHMYGOSSIP — Chloe Meadows is still messaging Marty McKenna.
The 24-year-old beauty is still in touch with the ‘Geordie Shore’ hunk, 22, and hopes once he moves closer to her in Essex that they will see each other a lot more.
Asked if she is still in contact with Marty, she said: “I am. We might go on a date, but he lives in Newcastle. He’s moving to Liverpool soon, which is closer.”
However, even if they do start romancing properly, the blonde beauty doesn’t want Marty to join her on the ITVBe show because she’s still scarred from her failed relationship with her co-star Mike Hassini – who was recently suspended for drink-driving – earlier this year.
Asked if she’d worry about having a boyfriend on camera, she said: “My insecurity issues are so bad anyway. I’d crumble if a boyfriend started to get attention from being on television.”
Chloe first went on the reality TV show because she wanted to get her ex-boyfriend back but was left disheartened when pictures of her on the beach emerged online and shattered her chances.
She explained to Star magazine: “I used to cry when I saw photos of me on the beach. I wen ton the show to try and get my ex back and when I saw those photos I thought, ‘He’ll never want me back now.’ Those pictures will haunt me forever. I want to lose a stone and a half. My perfect thing would be for someone to say that I look too thin.”

Lauren Goodger to have breast implants removed

OHMYGOSSIP — Lauren Goodger wants to have her breast implants removed by the summer.
The 30-year-old reality star went under the knife two years ago to take her chest from a 34D to a 34E but she’s now decided that she’d like her bouncy bust reduced because she’s on a mission to return to the “natural” look after having her lip fillers taken out.
Writing in her column for new! magazine, she said: “I still really want to have my boobs reduced and I have actually got a consultation booked with Mr Sultan Hassan at Elite Surgical, but nothing is set in stone. The surgeon might even suggest I have the implants taken out, which I would consider doing if they were reconstructed well. I had great natural boobs. I’ll probably go down to a C-cup, which is around my natural size. I’d really like to get them done by the summer so I can show them off in a bikini.”
And it seems the ‘Only Way is Essex’ beauty’s decision to have her implants taken out has been spurred on by the fact she’d like to have baby with her jailbird boyfriend Joey next year as she’s worried her fake bosoms will stop her from being able to breastfeed.
She explained: “I’ve never made any secret of how broody I am and I recently admitted I’d love to have a baby in 2017. I was asked if Joey knows I’m broody, and yeah, we’ve spoken about babies and stuff, but not about having one. He’s a beautiful person and I know he’d make a great dad one day.”
However, for now, Lauren is having to live life alone as Joey is currently in prison serving a lengthy sentence for burglary but is expected to be released next year.
She said: “It would have been nice to get him a Christmas present but unfortunately they’re not allowed them. People seem intrigued to know what we talk about. It’s nothing exciting – when ‘m there we eat together and chat about normal stuff, like what I’ve been up to, mutual friends, and just have a laugh. And when I’m not visiting him, he rings me every day. Hopefully he’ll be out early in the year.”

Coronation Street set invaded by ladybirds

OHMYGOSSIP — The ‘Coronation Street’ set has been invaded by sex-pest ladybirds.
The cast of the soap have been forced to flee their dressing rooms after a swarm of the the red-spotted insects carrying sexually transmitted diseases have taken refuge in the nooks and crannies of the hair and make-up department over the chilly winter months.
Catherine Tyldesley – who portrays busty blonde barmaid Eva Price in the popular show – told the Daily Star newspaper: “I discovered loads of ladybirds all over the dressing rooms. They were all hiding out in there. There was yellow ones and everything. They’re using the studios like holiday homes. It’s madness.”
Helen Flanagan – who has just reprised her role as model Rosie Webster in the programme following a four-year break – was the first to make a run for it after discovering the bugs trotting across the walls and ceilings of her dressing room.
And rightly so, as the creepy-crawlies – known as Harlequin Ladybirds – have been swooping in from Asia and North America due to the mild winds and pose a severe threat to native ladybirds because they carry the Laboulbeniales fungal disease.
It’s not yet known whether the fungus is harmful to the UK-native ladybirds, but scientists believe the disease, which is passed on through mating, affects the lifespan or the number of eggs a female can produce throughout her life.
Despite the panic, it’s believed the disease can’t be passed on to humans.
