Kym Marsh to relive baby death for Coronation Street plot

OHMYGOSSIP — Kym Marsh is set to relive the tragic death of her son in a new ‘Coronation Street’ storyline.
The 40-year-old actress was left heartbroken in 2009 when her son Archie died moments after being born prematurely at just 21 weeks old, and will now have to go through the emotional turmoil once again as her character on the ITV soap Michelle Connor is set to be hit with a miscarriage plot.
Michelle will lose Ruairi at 23 weeks in an emotional episode which will air in early January.
Speaking about her decision to agree to the plot, Kym – who also has 21-year-old son David and 19-year-old daughter Emily with former partner Dave Cunliffe, as well as five-year-old daughter Polly with former husband Jamie Lomas – said: “I thought long and hard before agreeing to take on the challenge of this storyline. It is a cause very close to my heart having lost my beautiful Archie.
“I have had to go to some very dark places in my mind while filming these heartbreaking scenes, but my family, friends and colleagues have been incredible. Losing a child is something that never leaves you so to revisit those feelings has been challenging.
“‘Coronation Street’ ensured that I had a counsellor on set at all times, but for me the best tonic after a hugely emotional day was to go home to my kids and be reminded of how lucky I am to have them.”
And bosses of the ITV soap are doing everything they can to make the plot – which will also see Kym’s on-screen husband Simon Gregson, who plays Steve McDonald, endure emotional turmoil – believable, enlisting the help of stillbirth charity Sands for the episode.
Kym added in a statement: “I felt it was an important story to tell to raise awareness of something which affects thousands of women every year. I am very proud.”

Danny-Boy Hatchard determined for realistic EastEnders plot

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny-Boy Hatchard is determined to make sure his suicide plot on ‘EastEnders’ is played out realistically.
The 25-year-old actor has played Lee Carter on the BBC soap since 2014, and has said he worked closely with mental health charities as well as the show’s writers to make sure the former soldier’s current storyline – which sees him contemplate suicide after battling with depression – is carried out with justice.
He told The Sun Online: “I want to make sure it isn’t just something that happens and then it all gets better for Lee after that because that isn’t the reality.
“It’s about trying to find a healthy balance because mental illness isn’t just something that goes away.
“And I think that’s what the general feeling is for Lee after that. He needs to find himself, he needs to find a healthy balance so he can move forward with his life and that will cause certain things to happen.”
And Danny-Boy admits that the scenes were hard to film, but he doesn’t “feel alone” because the rest of the cast and crew were there to help him get through the harrowing story.
He added: “Yeah it’s tough. This is my job so I have to detach myself away from it personally and approach it in a professional way.
“I don’t feel alone working on this because I’ve got the ‘EastEnders’ team here who have been brilliant with my research and the writing and the directing and Sean’s been great.
“I think it’s a collaborative process. Although I am the picture of it and what you see with Lee, there’s been a lot of work behind that and that makes me as an actor feel a lot more comfortable with how I approach these situations.”
Meanwhile, Lorna Fraser – the media adviser for the Samaritans charity – has praised the show’s bosses for working with them to create a story that was told “responsibly and sensitively”.
She said: “We were really happy that EastEnders got in touch with us very early on in developing this element of Lee’s storyline because it is a subject that should be handled responsibly and sensitively.
“And so we’ve been working over several months with their researchers and their writers giving advice on various things and this is where soaps can really come into their own in reaching a wide audiences with some really important messages such as Lee’s situation and showing that through a culmination of life pressures, pressures that can particularly affect men that he’s reached a very difficult point.”

Dev Patel's accent struggle

OHMYGOSSIP — Dev Patel took eight months to perfect an Australian accent for ‘Lion’.
The 26-year-old actor – who plays Saroo Brierley in the drama film – admits it was “a lot of effort” to nail the accent he needed to use in the movie.
He said: “A lot of effort is what it took. Eight months of effort in fact with the genius of a dialect coach from Sydney, Jenny Kent. I was really lucky that the production gave me that comfortable lead up to take that time to do that.”
And Dev was honoured to work alongside Nicole Kidman, who plays his character’s adoptive mother in the film.
He added to news.com.au: “I feel Nicole just really opened up … for this one. She is such an icon and to have her in this movie takes it to another level.
“I have a mum who I am very close to and when I read this script I knew my mum would be really proud of it and she was a couple mess when she saw it.”
It comes as Dev admitted he “cried” when he got the script for ‘Lion’.
He shared: “I was crying when I read the script and I haven’t done that before ever while I was reading something. You want to do justice to such a beautiful piece of work.
“It’s really easy to compare it to ‘Slumdog’ when you’re dealing with a young boy in a situation of poverty from the beginning, but apart from that, thematically and tonally, the films are completely different.
“‘Slumdog’ had a kind of frenetic energy about it and a pacing, and this film is a sweeping story with these two pillars on each end, played by Priyanka [Bose] and Nicole [Kidman].”

James McAvoy's Xbox addiction

OHMYGOSSIP — James McAvoy’s Xbox addiction made him forget his lines.
The 37-year-old actor got so addicted to the game console whilst filming for ‘Becoming Jane’ that he eventually had to burn his Oblivion game CD before it truly “ruined the job” for him.
Speaking on an upcoming episode of The Graham Norton Show, he said: “When I went to Ireland to film ‘Becoming Jane’ my partner got me an Xbox and I thought, ‘What have you done? You’re going to ruin the job for me.’ I stayed up three nights in a row playing Oblivion. I was working 16-hour days and then staying up all night playing the game.
“On the final morning I was eating pizza, drinking coke and still playing the game when the driver collected me for filming so I ejected the game and burnt the CD on the cooker. I haven’t got into computer games since. I’m done.”
Meanwhile, James previously admitted he thinks his bald head has boosted his career.
He shared: “I was in San Diego, at Comic Con, promoting ‘X Men’ and I got f***ing blind drunk and stumbled into M Night Shyamalan and he was like, ‘Heeeeey! I’ve never seen you like this before.’ And he gave me a part in his next movie. And the next director I met was like, ‘I really like you bald. I’m going to give you this part!’ It seems that everyone likes me bald right now.”
And James really enjoys working out for his movies but admits he “never thought” he’d be into hitting the gym.
He said: “It’s f***ing brilliant, I love it, man! I Never thought I would be into that s**t but it’s so much fun, really technical, and quite Zen.”

Russell Tovey envies James Corden's success

OHMYGOSSIP — Russell Tovey is “jealous” of James Corden’s fortune.
The 35-year-old actor starred opposite the ‘Late Late Show’ host in ‘The History Boys’ in 2006 and he’s proud his friend is now doing so well, especially with something that seems to be effortless, but jokingly claimed he is “furious” about the ‘Into The Woods’ star’s popularity.
He said: “‘Carpool Karaoke’ is the most effortlessly brilliant thing ever. And it’s so him.
“How wonderful that something that comes so easy to him is his most successful thing. What a gift.
“I’m jealous that he’s got so much money now he’s s***ting pound coins, but I am incredibly proud of him.
“And he can go and still do a big film! I don’t think there’s anyone else in the world like that. I’m furious about it!”
Russell is also “obsessed” with another of his former co-stars, Claire Foy, who plays Queen Elizabeth in Netflix miniseries ‘The Crown’.
He said: “I’ve just started watching ‘The Crown’ and I’m obsessed with Claire Foy.
“I’ve known her since her first job, which was with me in ‘Being Human’ – she played my girlfriend in the pilot, which we then remade.
“And we were in ‘Little Dorrit’ together. My character was obsessively in love with her but she wasn’t interested.
“I feel proud to know her because she’s so perfect in ‘The Crown’.”
The British star is just as famous in his own right thanks to his role in ABC drama series ‘Quantico’, but he admits it has taken time to adjusting to the commitment of the show.
He told heat magazine: “I’ve never done a show that has so many episodes. With 22 per season, it’s like a machine, but at the same time everyone is very passionate about the work.
“At first, the schedule was daunting – long hours every day and I’d have to be topless in every scene, so I had to fit the gym in as well. But then I got into the groove of it and it’s great.”

John Altman wants Nasty Nick in Emmerdale

OHMYGOSSIP — John Altman wants to bring his ‘EastEnders’ character Nick Cotton to ‘Emmerdale’.
The 64-year-old actor was known for playing Nick Cotton – nicknamed Nasty Nick – on the BBC soap from the show’s debut episode in 1985 until his character was killed off last year, but has now expressed a wish to take the Walford icon to the Yorkshire village “under a different name”.
He said: “I always thought it would be great to see Nick go up to Emmerdale or something under a different name but he is actually the same character.”
However, John admits the problem with his plan is the small matter of Nick’s death, after he took drugs he claimed “weren’t pure” and died in the arms of his mother Dot Cotton (played by June Brown) who refused to call an ambulance.
But John does have a solution for that, claiming the audience never actually saw Nick’s body leave the house in which he supposedly died, so there’s a chance he could still be alive.
He added: “He’d be being nice and all the viewers would be going mad because they know he’s evil. I don’t think we could do it now because he’s dead. But is he dead? We never saw the body being carried out of the house.
“There’s something called suspended animation maybe that happened to Nick?”
Meanwhile, John hit out at the soap that was his home for so many years, claiming the quality had dropped because the show got “too big”.
He told The Sun newspaper: “EastEnders lost a lot of heart when it got too big, too many people, the fewer people you’ve got the better it is.”
“When EastEnders went to four days a week it seemed to me as though they were trying to squeeze four pints into a two-pint jug.”

Sylvester Stallone, Viola Davis and Priyanka Chopra join Golden Globes presenters

OHMYGOSSIP — Sylvester Stallone, Viola Davis and Priyanka Chopra will present awards at the Golden Globes.
The trio are among the Hollywood stars who will take part in the ceremony at the Beverly Hilton on January 8, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Brie Larson, Sofia Vergara, Zoe Saldana and Mandy Moore will also join previously announced stars including Drew Barrymore, Matt Damon, Laura Dern, Goldie Hawn, Nicole Kidman, Diego Luna, Sienna Miller, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Timothy Olyphant, Chris Pine, Eddie Redmayne, Amy Schumer, Justin Theroux, Milo Ventimiglia and Reese Witherspoon, at the ceremony.
The Golden Globes will be presented by Jimmy Kimmell and Sylvester’s daughters, Sophia, 20, Sistine, 18, and Scarlet, 14, will all share the title and duties of Miss Golden Globe.
The three girls – whom Stallone has with his wife Jennifer Flavin – have collectively been crowned Miss Golden Globe 2017 and their father is delighted with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for giving them the prestigious opportunity.
Sly has told them not to take it “lightly” as it is a first for the Golden Globes to have a trio of Miss Golden Globes.
He said: “I didn’t take it lightly because I know that it hadn’t been done before, and I thought it was incredibly gracious of the Golden Globes to present this opportunity.”
Past holders of the title of Miss Golden Globe have included Demi Moore and Bruce Willis’ daughter Rumer Willis, Melanie Griffith – whose mother is ‘The Birds’ star Tippi Hedren – and her own daughter, Dakota Johnson, and Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick’s daughter Sosie.
Miss Golden Globe 2016 was Jamie Foxx’s daughter Corinne.

Matthew McConaughey 'enjoyed' The Dark Tower

OHMYGOSSIP — Matthew McConaughey accepted his role in ‘The Dark Tower’ because he can be the “creator and author” of his own character.
The 47-year-old actor is set to play the role of Man in Black in the movie adaptation of Stephen King’s novel series of the same name, and has revealed he opted to help kick-start a new movie franchise rather than take up a role in an existing one because he has more creative freedom with his character.
Asked why he chose to take on ‘The Dark Tower’ instead of a sequel movie such as ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’, the star said: “I like ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, but what I saw was ‘It’s successful, and now we’ve got room to make a colourful part for another big-name actor.’ I’d feel like an amendment. ‘The Dark Tower’ script was well written, I like the director (Nikolaj Arcel) and his take on it, and I can be the creator, the author of the Man in Black -a.k.a. the Devil – in my version of this Stephen King novel.”
And for Matthew – who will star in the movie alongside Idris Elba’s Gunslinger – part of the appeal for the new franchise was how “grounded” it is despite being based in an “alternate universe”.
He told PlayBoy magazine: “We’ve done the first one. It’s a fantastic thriller that takes place in another realm, an alternate universe, but it’s very much grounded. For instance, the Gunslinger’s weapon isn’t a lightsaber or something; it’s a pistol. I enjoyed approaching my character as if I were the Devil having a good time, getting turned on by exposing human hypocrisies wherever he finds them.”
‘The Dark Tower’ is expected to be released in July 2017.

Michael Fassbender reveals challenge of making Assassin's Creed

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Fassbender admits the plot for ‘Assassin’s Creed’ needed to be accessible in order to be a success.
The 39-year-old actor stars in the new movie based on the popular video game, and has admitted it was tricky making a film based on the series.
He shared: “There’s a battle of two ideologies fighting for the future of mankind, that’s going to lend itself very well to a cinematic experience.
“The initial challenge was how to distil all of that, simplify it as best we could for people who’d never played the game, people who’re experiencing this world for the first time.”
Video games are notoriously tough to turn into successful movies, but Michael admitted that previous efforts made making ‘Assassin’s Creed’ much easier.
He told the BBC: “It would be worse if all the previous adaptations had been successful and this one wasn’t.
“People need a story and it’s a story that no-one’s made a good movie out of a video game.
“All of us were fairly ignorant to all that so we were naively happy to plod along.”
He insisted, though, that the so-called curse would soon be lifted.
The Hollywood star said: “Until it’s good, it’s just not good.
“But if you can make a good story and translate that to a cinema experience then there won’t be a curse. It didn’t faze me at all, to be honest.”

Michelle Williams won't be 'big fat liar'

OHMYGOSSIP — Michelle Williams doesn’t want to be a “big fat liar”.
The ‘Manchester By the Sea’ actress likes to thoroughly research all the characters she plays so she can give a more convincing performance, even though she admits her preparations aren’t always necessary.
She said: “I like to spend as much time as possible in the environment and the person, so that when I get to set I don’t feel like a big fat liar.
“That’s my goal. I want to believe myself.
“It’s been something I’ve liked to do for a long time. When I did ‘Brokeback Mountain’, the dialect coach and I went to Wyoming and we sort of toured around for a week.
“We’d sit in bars and just listen to people. I’m just trying to pick up little clues, little details, little anythings.
“It’s not necessary and sometimes I don’t do it as thoroughly, it just makes me feel like I’m not a phoney.
“I don’t think it’s about lying. I think it’s about believing what you’re doing, to the point you think you’re telling the truth.”
The 36-year-old actress’ latest movie, ‘Manchester By The Sea’, is hotly tipped for awards success, but Michelle insists that doesn’t make it a more “valuable experience” than anything else she’s worked on.
She told Total Film magazine: “The thing is, it really shows it’s just as hard to make a bad film as it is a good film.
“You work just as hard. You care just as much.
“You suspend your life and give everything that you have to this endeavour. And then it turns out badly.
“It’s not for a lack of trying. So when a movie that you’re in succeeds, it’s wonderful. But it doesn’t make the experience more valuable than the others.”

Jordan Banjo: I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here changed me

OHMYGOSSIP — Jordan Banjo says taking part in ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ made him a “different person”.
The Diversity dancer was the fourth celebrity to be eliminated from the 2016 series of the jungle based reality show, and has admitted the experience was so challenging he isn’t sure “how [he] did it”.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Good Morning Britain’ alongside fellow Diversity dance stars Ashley Banjo and Perri Kiely, Jordan said: “Looking back at – after being out of it for so long now – I’m like mate I don’t even know how I did it!
“That’s a different person!”
And Jordan also opened up about the horrifying bushtucker trial that he underwent named the Tomb of Torment, where he was plunged in darkness whilst 120,000 critters climbed over him, alongside ‘Gogglebox’ star Scarlett Moffatt, ex-‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional Ola Jordan, and Olympic gold medal winner Sam Quek.
The 23 year old said of the trial: “I was laying there and the girls were like ‘let’s sing’ and I was like ‘let’s not!'”
“I’ve got scars on my neck from when the rats scratched me!”
The news comes after Jordan described the whole experience as “overwhelming” during his interview on with show presenters Ant and Dec after he was voted out of the jungle.
He said at the time: “The whole experience was so overwhelming, it was something I never thought I’d get the chance to do. I’m not joking, those guys in there is such a beautiful person and I can’t wait to see them when they get out.
“I’ve never seen a camp like it. It was sort of like a home away from home because every day I’m with a team. I thought it would be arguments and big egos but it hasn’t been anything like that.”

Charlie King to rejoin The Only Way Is Essex?

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlie King is in talks to return to ‘The Only Way Is Essex’.
The personal trainer appeared briefly on the show in 2013 when he struck up a relationship with Gemma Collins – before he later came out as gay on ITV’s ‘The Morning’ in 2014 – and is now reportedly thinking of re-joining the cast of the reality show to help further his “personal training business”.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Charlie has big plans with his personal training business and in talks with ‘TOWIE’ to make a return.
“He still has a great relationship with the cast and they would love to welcome him back.”
Charlie originally quit the show after his rows with best friend Bobby Norris were shown to the viewing public, but now he’s reportedly hoping to use his personal training skills to help his ex-beau Gemma and James Argent to shed weight, as they have both admitted to struggling with weight loss in the past.
And show bosses are convinced there will be no “awkwardness” between the two exes, and say that Gemma will be “thankful” for Charlie’s support during her “weight loss mission”.
The source added: “There will be no awkwardness between exes Charlie and Gemma.
“There are no hard feelings and Gemma will be thankful for his support as she continues her weight loss mission.”
And Gemma’s continued weight loss goal comes as she recently lost almost a stone in just over four weeks after ditching brandies for slimline vodka, lime and soda.
Speaking previously, she said: “It’s all about moderation. Where I used to think nothing of polishing off 15 brandies, nowadays I drink vodka and soda with fresh lime.”

Stephanie Davis to have own TV show?

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephanie Davis is “in talks” for her own television show.
The former ‘Hollyoaks’ star – who is 35 weeks pregnant with her first child – has been approached by bosses from various channels about shooting her own series about raising a baby and motherhood.
She explained: “I’m in talks for stuff like that [a motherhood series]. I have a great idea for a new format that no one has ever done before.”
And it seems the 23-year-old actress could be open to many more series after the first as she’s hoping to have more children in the future – but only with the right man.
She told new! magazine: “I definitely want kids in the future but I’m not interested in men at all. I go out with my brothers or my dad and literally that’s as much male contact as I’ve had. Mum keeps saying I’ll meet somewhat when I least expect it but I’m like, ‘I never want to go with a man again!’ ”
Stephanie was left heartbroken earlier this year when she split from her on/off boyfriend Jeremy McConnell – who she claims is the father of her child – but it hasn’t destroyed her view of love.
She added: “Disney has given me false hope! I would like a decent fella, but now my tick-box is so long, I’d have to hold auditions! Tattoos? Out! Model? Out!

Sherlock rewrites scenes due to 'immobile dog'

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Sherlock’ writers had to rewrite scenes involving a dog because the pooch “wouldn’t move”.
Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, the brains behind the popular BBC crime drama, were forced to rewrite scenes for the upcoming series on the spot after the bloodhound they had hired to assist the super sleuth – played by Benedict Cumberbatch – refused to co-operate with the director’s demands.
Speaking to The Mirror newspaper, Steven, 55, said: “It was an immobile dog. Me and Mark wrote a new scene on the street because the dog wouldn’t move. It was just sat there like an ornament.”
Mark, 50, added: “The people that tell you they can train animals are liars. We got there with this bloodhound and it wouldn’t do a thing.”
Meanwhile, 40-year-old Benedict – who is joined in his adventures by Doctor John Watson, played by Martin Freeman – said the owner of the pooch warned them that the dog wasn’t a fan of “pavements” or “people”.
He said: “She said ‘well the dog doesn’t like pavements or concrete or people or busy streets or open spaces’.”
And whilst the bloodhound might not want to offer an award-winning performance, Benedict is confident his portrayal of the famous detective is headed in the right direction.
He said: “He is becoming slightly more responsible for his actions. He is very much becoming more of a human being.”
The rewritten scenes starring the immobile pooch will be shown during the first episode of the new series, which airs on New Year’s Day (01.01.17).
Elsewhere, it was recently revealed that the final episode of ‘Sherlock’s fourth series – entitled ‘The Final Problem’ – will be shown in over 300 cinemas when it airs in January 2017.
‘Sherlock’ producer Sue Vertue said: “Fans clearly enjoyed the opportunity of watching ‘The Abominable Bride’ in cinemas last time so Hartswood Films are thrilled to be working with BBC Worldwide again to do the same for this series four finale.”

Danielle Lloyd 'worried' about Jamie O'Hara's Big Brother appearance

OHMYGOSSIP — Danielle Lloyd is “worried” her ex-husband Jamie O’Hara will spill the details on their love life when he enters the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house next year.
The 33-year-old glamour model is reportedly concerned over the addition of the ex-footballer – with whom she shares three children, Archie, six, Harry, five, and George, three – to the famous house alongside her former close friend and fellow model Nicola McLean, as they know “everything about her” and could spill her secrets to the viewing public.
A source told The Sun Online: “Danielle must be worried about what Jamie will say in the house. They shared two-and-a-half years as a married couple and they’ve got three kids together, so he knows everything about her.
“It couldn’t come at a worse time, as Nicola is also going in to the house. They’re bound to discuss their shared connection to Danielle soon enough.”
But the beauty – who appeared on the popular reality show herself in 2007 – isn’t too concerned about her ex-husband, as she recently admitted she would like to have a baby with her fiancé Michael O’Neill, which she believes will help her kick her drinking habit.
She said: “I’d love to get pregnant again so I can start off the year right – and it would give me an excuse to stop drinking.
“Every single January I say I’m going to drink less or stop drinking altogether and every year I never stick to it.
“The boys would love another sibling and keep asking me when it’s going to happen – it’s so sweet.”
The brunette beauty is smitten with her electrician partner and loves leading a “normal” life with him.
She said: “It’s just nice being a normal mum with my kids and it’s lovely having a normal fiancé.
“He’s hands on and so kind, helping me with things like the school run and bathtime.
“He doesn’t like all the showbiz stuff, he just leaves me to it.”

Matt Terry wants to buy home for parents

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Terry wants to pay off his parents’ mortgage.
The ‘X Factor’ winner is hoping the money he earns from his record deal will allow him to buy his mother and father’s home outright so they don’t have any monthly fees with banks.
And the generous star admits he hasn’t even considered splashing out anything on himself just yet.
He said: “I would love to pay off their mortgage one day. If I could work towards that, it would be amazing. I haven’t thought about anything for myself yet, but maybe I’ll get something.”
And it seems the 23-year-old heartthrob will be raking in the cash in no time as he’s planning to drop his debut album next year – following the recent release of his debut single ‘When Christmas Comes Around’ – after the show’s tour.
He explained: “Hopefully I can start working on it next year after the tour.”
Although Matt has only just dropped his single ‘When Christmas Comes Around’, he is hoping to emulate the success of previous show stars Leona Lewis, One Direction and Olly Murs.
He told Britain’s OK! magazine: “So many people like Leona Lewis, Fleur East has done amazing, One Direction, Olly Murs. James Arthur has just made a comeback and he’s insane. There are so many people who have done really well and I want to do the same.”
