Alan Sugar undergoes urgent heart operation

OHMYGOSSIP — Lord Alan Sugar has undergone an urgent heart operation in the US.
The 69-year-old businessman, who stars on the BBC show ‘The Apprentice’, was fitted with a tube last month during his winter break in Florida after tests showed one of his arteries had narrowed, meaning he urgently needed the medical procedure.
However, Lord Sugar’s spokesman Andrew Bloch has played down the severity of the problem, revealing he was back on form within days.
He said: “He was on the mend within a day and cleared to resume exercise after a week.
“He’s in perfect medical health and plays tennis and rides his bike for 40 miles regularly.”
The procedure was completed under local anaesthetic and Lord Sugar was discharged from hospital the next day, according to The Sun newspaper.
Meanwhile, Lord Sugar recently revealed he wanted to quit ‘The Apprentice’ because he hated having to employ the winner.
The businessman said the original prize, which gave one contestant a spot in his multi-national company, infuriated his staff so much that he was forced to give the BBC an ultimatum in 2011.
He said: “It wasn’t a good idea and that was it. I said, ‘I’m not doing that any more’. Giving someone a job was turning out to be quite difficult.
“It was problematic as far as other employees were concerned. You don’t just create a job out of thin air. Otherwise you don’t have a good business, do you? There was never an empty job.
“I would frankly not be still doing this if I hadn’t changed the format.”

Star Wars co-star hails Carrie Fisher as an 'original screen icon'

OHMYGOSSIP — Carrie Fisher was an “original screen icon”, according to Laura Dern.
The 49-year-old actress appears alongside Carrie in the eagerly-awaited ‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’ and has hailed the Hollywood star after she passed away aged 60 in late December.
Of her on-screen co-star, Laura said: “We put a lot of focus currently on what it is to be a female icon, what it is to use your voice, what it is to be comfortable in your own skin.
“She has always been one of the most extraordinary beacons, an original screen icon.”
Laura – whose role in the new movie has not been revealed – admitted Carrie and her ‘Star Wars’ character Princess Leia were icons for her as a child.
She told ET Online: “I don’t know any of us who didn’t play Princess Leia for a Halloween, or in our life.
“What an incredible gift to to witness that whole legacy.”
This comes shortly after Lucasfilm denied suggestions it is seeking the rights to use Carrie’s digital image in future ‘Star Wars’ movies.
Carrie finished shooting ‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’ prior to her passing, but it had been rumoured her image could still appear in the franchise.
However, a statement posted on StarWars.com read: “We want to assure our fans that Lucasfilm has no plans to digitally recreate Carrie Fisher’s performance as Princess or General Leia Organa.
“Carrie Fisher was, is, and always will be a part of the Lucasfilm family. She was our princess, our general, and more importantly, our friend. We are still hurting from her loss. We cherish her memory and legacy as Princess Leia, and will always strive to honor everything she gave to Star Wars.”

Tom Hardy 'can't comment' on James Bond role

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Hardy “can’t possibly comment” on whether or not he’s in the running to become the next James Bond.
The 39-year-old actor has been largely speculated as a contender to take up the role of the fictional spy when Daniel Craig steps down from the position, but says he won’t talk about his chances for fear of it putting him “out of the race”.
Asked about the speculation, Tom said: “You know, there’s a saying amongst us in the fraternity of acting, and in the fellowship of my peer group, that if you talk about it you’re automatically out of the race. So I can’t possibly comment on that one! If I mention it, it’s gone.”
And whilst the Hollywood hunk won’t say too much about where he stands with the franchise, he did admit Christopher Nolan would be a “fantastic” director for the next instalment.
He added to The Daily Beast: “Chris Nolan, what a fantastic director for a Bond movie. Because Daniel [Craig] is so good, and what [director Sam] Mendes and Barbara [Broccoli, producer] have done has been so impressive, that it would be a very hard re-imagination to follow after.
“I wonder what the next instalment of that franchise would become, and I think when you mention someone like Christopher Nolan, that’s a very powerful figure to bring into that world who could bring something new and create something profound – again.”
The search for a new Bond comes after Daniel Craig has reportedly refused to contact studio executives to confirm or deny his involvement with the next movie.
A source said last month: “Daniel and MGM are currently at a stalemate with him having not spoken to them about Bond.
“They have offered a bigger wage deal, and asked about his filming availability to his reps in 2017, but as of yet they have not spoken to Daniel.”
Other names in contention to take over from the 48-year-old actor include ‘Poldark’ star Aidan Turner, ‘Thor’ actor Tom Hiddleston, and ‘Luther’ actor Idris Elba.

Binky Felstead pregnant

OHMYGOSSIP — Binky Felstead is pregnant.
The 26-year-old star and her ‘Made In Chelsea’ co-star Josh ‘JP’ Paterson have revealed that they are expecting their first child together, although they are not officially a couple at the moment.
Binky told HELLO! magazine: “It’s obviously been a huge shock to both of us.
“This is a new start and a new chapter in our lives. I want to be a little family, to be honest. But I’m going to be ok either way.
“Whatever happens, this baby is not going to be affected. And I know Josh will be part of the baby’s life whether we are together or not. We are a unit now.”
Binky and JP’s on/off relationship has been documented on ‘Made In Chelsea’ and last year she insisted she wanted to give their romance another go.
She said: “JP and I have been on and off for two years – what’s the point in throwing it away?
“I’ve still got my guard up; he’s saying all of this amazing stuff to me but actions speak louder than words.
“He’s not like the other guys on the show who get drunk and cheat. He’s loyal, and protective, and that’s all my mum wants for me.
“I’m 26, I’m not getting any younger, and I do want to start chilling out and having some nights in. It’s also nice to have someone who adores you.”
And JP added: “I really, really, love her. Obviously, it’s not going to be an easy ride. There’s going to be a lot of obstacles in the road.”

Amanda Holden's social media worry

OHMYGOSSIP — Amanda Holden is “dreading” the day her daughters want to join social media.
The ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ star – who has Alexa, 10, and Hollie, four with her partner Chris Hughes – admits she is worried about her kids’ phone usage and fears the day she wants to join Twitter or Facebook is fast approaching.
Writing in her column for Fabulous magazine, she shared: “Like any working mum, I’m always juggling my job with what’s going on at home, and at the moment that includes limiting Lexi’s time on her mobile phone. She’ll be sitting the 11-plus soon so I have to be tougher than usual, especially when I see her tapping away to friends on WhatsApp.
“There’s so much politics about who’s in which chat groups, and it does concern me, as I know young girls can be upset over the slightest things. I’m dreading the day she wants to open a social media account. When it comes, I’ll let her, because I don’t want her to feel different from other girls her age, but I’ll monitor it closely. It’s not a milestone I’m looking forward to. Why can’t they stay babies forever?”
And it is not the only big milestone the family have faced recently as Hollie started school in September just gone.
Amanda shared at the time: “It’s a big week in the Holden-Hughes household, because my baby Hollie starts school on Tuesday. Where have the last four years gone? When Lexi started I was partly weepy and partly proud we’d reached that stage. Maybe because Hollie is my youngest and last child, I just feel super-emotional about this mummy milestone.
“I’m going to be that mother weeping at the school gates waving her off, with poor Chris handing me tissues. I needn’t be worried, Hollie is more than ready for school. She rules the house, and is such a little diva – I can’t think where she gets it from! She rang room service twice on holiday this year and ordered snacks for herself – four going on 24.
“I’m loving this stage of parenting. We never planned to have such a big gap between the girls, but they have a really cute dynamic. Lexi’s the caring big sister, while Hollie’s the comical drama queen.”

Billie Faiers to give birth in March

OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Faiers is due to give birth in two months’ time.
The former ‘The Only Way is Essex’ star has been keeping fans updated with her pregnancy over the past few months and is looking forward to welcoming her little boy – her second child – into the world with her partner Greg Shepherd in March.
Billie’s sister Sam said: “She’s getting along really well. She’s due to have her baby boy in March, so she’s getting bigger now. She’d had a really nice pregnancy with no mad cravings or sickness but she feels a lot more tired and she’s carrying really low.”
The blonde beauty has also been rushed off her feet with her two-year-old Nelly.
Sam added to star magazine: “Nelly, her two year old, is a little live wire so juggling having Nelly, being pregnant and Christmas was a bit much. I think she should just put her feet up and take this time now to get ready for her baby.”
Sam would also like to have a second child with her boyfriend Paul Knightley but has admitted she’d prefer to get married before the couple start trying for another baby.
The reality TV star – who already has 12-month-old son Paul Jr. – said: “I’ve always been vocal about the fact I want a big family and Paul does too, but I think I’m just going to have this year to get myself back on track. I want to get my figure back and get back into my exercise. Maybe next year. I think we;d like to be married before we have another baby, but it’s hard to plan. When I’m engaged I’d like to get married quickly.”

Lorraine Kelly 'never ever' do Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Lorraine Kelly would “never ever” do ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 57-year-old television personality has ruled herself out of ever taking part in the BBC One latin and ballroom show as she thinks she would be “rubbish”.
Asked if she’d ever sign up to the celebrity dance competition, she told The Sun Online: “Never, ever, ever. I would be rubbish. You know how Ed Balls was rubbish in a really good way and we loved him and Russell Grant and all the rest, because actually they had some rhythm, I would just be rubbish. I wouldn’t even be fun rubbish. Something like that, I love watching it but it does take over your whole life.”
However, Lorraine feels great in herself and believes her husband Steve Smith has seen a big change in her confidence levels since she started working out.
She said recently: “I feel better now, I’m 57 now, I feel more enthused and energetic and full of energy and positivity than when I was 27.
“Steve doesn’t mind, as long as I’m happy he’s happy. He would like me regardless, it doesn’t matter what I am. I think he sees that I feel better about myself and I think that’s really good because you know what it’s like as you get older, confidence is that thing that can go, so this has been amazing.”
And Lorraine insists exercising isn’t about “being glamorous”.
She added: “Exercise isn’t about being glamorous, the sweatier you get the better as it means you’re working hard. Exercise can really empower you and make you feel strong as well as keep you healthy – it’s so important. I want a healthy happy Britain …
“I’ve got more energy. It’s not just about how you feel physically, it’s mentally as well. It’s just great, it’s a fantastic stress buster and sometimes I go and I feel tired and stressed, and I come out of there like a new woman. I just feel so much better.”

Viola Davis frightened by her potential

OHMYGOSSIP — Viola Davis found it “frightening” realising her power and potential.
The ‘Fences’ star used to think if she put herself down it would make her look more “humble” but now realises it is important to show how confident she is in herself and her abilities.
She said: “I think tapping into one’s power and one’s potential is a very frightening thing. And for women it’s a very new thing. It is. I always used to feel that self-deprecation was an answer to humility – that people would see me as a humble person the more I put myself down.
“And people do say that, ‘Oh! I ran into so-and-so and they kept saying, ‘Oh, my work in this really sucked,’ and they were great! I just thought it was so refreshing that they said that! And I often think to myself, what if someone says, ‘You know what, I’m confident, I’m really happy about the work I did. I really felt like I gave it my best and it came out great,’ the same way men do. Why is that not seen as humble?”
And the 51-year-old actress thinks it is important actors and actresses understand that whilst their work may not live up to their own expectations, they “deserve” whatever awards and accolades they get.
She added to The Observer magazine: “It’s the waking up and understanding that OK, you may not be the best person out there, but you’ve put in enough work to understand that you deserve what you’ve got, that that is what is at the end of hard work.
“The happily ever after comes after you’ve done the work. And to literally understand, especially as a woman, that a closed mouth doesn’t get fed, you’ve got to ask for what you want and expect to get it.”

Claire Danes' girly phobia

OHMYGOSSIP — Claire Danes used to have a “phobia of girls”.
The ‘Homeland’ actress – who has four-year-old son Cyrus with husband Hugh Dancy – struggled to fit in when she attended a “really progressive” school that lacked structure and admitted her experiences made her mistrustful of female friendships.
She recalled of her school days: “I think the kids compensated for [the lack of structure] by creating a really strong social structure. It was cliquey as eff. That was hard for me.
“[My friend there] knew how critical it was to remain discreet and inconspicuous and, for some reason, I just didn’t know how essential that was.
“I would get targeted, I think because I was a little too myself, maybe? I don’t know, too expressive or something? I just retreated and became pretty isolated.”
But the 37-year-old star overcame her worries when she enrolled in Yale university in 1998 to study psychology and now has a close group of female pals who meet for a monthly book club and loves being around them.
She told Harper’s Bazaar magazine: “They all do their different things. One’s a therapist, one is a doctor and one is a graphic designer We could be a great non-profit organisation. I don’t know what I would offer though.
“Really it’s an excuse to be amongst each other… There’s an energy shift when it’s all women. It feels so replenishing.
“I mean, I love men, obviously, but it feels really good.
“I think we do start talking a little differently. We’re allowed to say we have certain grievances, that we’ve had a hard time because we’re women. It’s also just really fun.”

Danielle Lloyd is too scared to go out after suffering vile abuse

OHMYGOSSIP — Danielle Lloyd is scared to go out after receiving a barrage of online abuse on the back of her ex-husband Jamie O’Hara’s ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ appearance.
The 33-year-old model – who has sons Archie, Harry and George with the footballer – claims her ex’s appearance on the show has made everyday tasks like taking her kids to school difficult.
She said: “I had to stop watching the programme because it was causing me so much anxiety. But then the hate messages towards me from the public started appearing on my social media. At first I replied to some of the comments about me being a gold digger to let people know it wasn’t true. But then I stopped because they just kept coming and getting worse. Some are really vile, calling me a slag and all sorts of swear words.
“I’m suffering from panic attacks and now I only go out when I have to because I’m frightened someone will recognise me and have a go. My chest feels really tight all the time because of the stress and anxiety and sometimes I can’t breathe. Even the school run has become difficult because people are looking at me in the playground. I don’t deserve this kind of abuse. It isn’t fair.”
The brunette beauty also fired back against claims she is a gold digger, insisting she has “always paid her own way”.
She added: “At the time, he was still a successful footballer and I was a successful model. I was earning about £25,000 a week compared to Jamie’s £7,000 a week.
“I had my own house in London and I’d bought myself a Bentley. The Range Rover I drive now, I bought with my own money. I’ve always paid my own way. I’ve just enrolled on a course to study interior design and photography. I know the modelling won’t last forever.
“I thought we’d be together forever. We’d always say we’d never cheat on each other. I believed him totally. I would get the odd nasty message on Twitter from girls saying he had been unfaithful but I thought they were just being spiteful.”
And Danielle feels hurt that her ex-husband’s appearance on the show has opened up “old wounds”.
She told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “This has really floored me. All the abuse. It is too much. ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ is a game, certain things are picked up and expanded upon. People should realise that instead of attacking me for what somebody has said.
“I wished Jamie good luck before he went in there because I want him to succeed. I don’t know why everybody is turning on me. I am the one paying the price. I wanted to move on from everything. Now it feels as though all my old wounds have been opened up.”

Danniella Westbrook suffered cocaine relapse

OHMYGOSSIP — Danniella Westbrook relapsed on cocaine after bad dental surgery.
The former ‘EastEnders’ star contracted a form of septicaemia last year, which she claims was from dental implants she had fitted on ‘Celebrity Botched Up Bodies’, and admits it led her to use again after hitting an all time low.
She told Now magazine: “Everything was going so well. It was supposed to be my year, but then the teeth implants didn’t take and I became so low.
“I’m an addict and the wheels fell off. I was dabbing cocaine around my mouth and rubbing it in to numb the pain. I was hospitalised, I could have died. I had three operations in seven weeks.”
It comes after the 43-year-old actress – who has battled with a cocaine addiction in the past – insisted she was suing the makers of ‘Celebrity Botched Up Bodies’ for £750,000 after the dental procedure left her with blood poisoning.
She said: “I’m suing the makers of ‘Celebrity Botched Up Bodies’ for £750,000 to cover lost earnings. I’ve had sleepless nights and crying about the state my teeth are in.
“Sometimes you want to go out for dinner and have a great big bit of steak but I can’t do that – I’ll probably bite in to it and [the implant] will be stuck in the meat.”
And she claims she had to have all of her teeth removed because of what happened.
She wrote in a tweet at the time: “I’ve been in hospital. I’ve had to have all my teeth removed for a blood and bone infection, through no fault of my own. I’m not on drugs and I’m not pregnant … I’m just very poorly with a blood infection.”

Natalie Portman wants strong female leads

OHMYGOSSIP — Natalie Portman is “not interested” in watching movies without female stars.
The ‘Black Swan’ star is disappointed that there is a lack of movies in Hollywood that feature women in the leading roles and admits as an audience member that it is “really hard” to watch any films which don’t feature many women.
She said: “I don’t have a problem with that point of view because it is a totally legitimate point of view – I’m glad to get insight into how straight white male minds work. It’s just that we’re not having other points of view.
“As a female audience member, it’s really hard for me to watch these movies where women don’t exist. There are so many movies where it’s literally 20 men and no female character, or there’s a female character who’s, like, the wife on the phone. I’m kind of not interested in watching it!”
However, the 35-year-old actress appreciates that “desire is the language of cinema” and because of the uneven ratio of men to women filmmakers, it causes an imbalance of the stories shared.
She added to The Sunday Times’ Culture magazine: “It’s hard because desire is the language of cinema. And because it’s been so male-dominated, the story of cinema is male desire and a female object of desire.
“I don’t necessarily have a problem with that, it’s just that we don’t have the counter, we don’t have the expression of female desire. We become the object of desire, not the subject of desire. Women have been made to feel guilty or bad for desiring food, or sex, or power.”
And Natalie is not afraid to open up about these issues, having recently revealed her ‘No Strings Attached’ co-star Ashton Kutcher was paid three times more than she was for their roles in the movie.
She shared: “Ashton Kutcher was paid three times as much as me on ‘No Strings Attached’. I knew and I went along with it because there’s this thing with ‘quotes’ in Hollywood.
“Your quote is the highest you’ve ever been paid. His was three times higher than mine so they said he should get three times more. I wasn’t as p***ed as I should have been. I mean, we get paid a lot, so it’s hard to complain, but the disparity is crazy.”

Rachel Weisz is 'huge fan' of Daniel Craig's films

OHMYGOSSIP — Rachel Weisz is a “huge fan” of Daniel Craig’s movies.
The ‘Denial’ actress thinks her husband does a great job of playing iconic British spy Daniel Craig but isn’t interested in speculation about whether or not he’ll make another film in the series.
She said: “James Bond is a fictional character, a very good fictional character who has been played by a bunch of different actors over the years – Sean Connery, Roger Moore, there’s a whole list of them, right?
“And currently, the very brilliant Daniel Craig has been playing him and I happen to think doing so very well, because I am a huge fan of his acting but that’s as far as it goes.”
Despite their shared profession, the 46-year-old actress – who has 10-year-old son Henry from her relationship with Darren Aronofsky – insists she and Daniel don’t talk much about work when they’re at home.
She said: “I think it could get very boring in any profession to be continually talking shop.
“Of course I’m interested in his work and I love to see his films, but when it’s just us, we find other things to talk about.”
But the couple don’t go out much because they much prefer being at home in their New York apartment entertaining friends.
Rachel told HELLO! magazine: “I have a really nice kitchen so why go out?
“I do a really good shrimp dish with what we Brits call coriander and Americans call cilantro – it’s useful because you can whip it up in five minutes.”
And the brunette beauty has a strong bond with her young son.
She said: “A parent’s love is pretty crazily powerful and fierce. I have a big, big love affair with my son.”

Liam Fox wants to be Dr Who

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Fox wants to be the next Doctor Who.
The ‘Emmerdale’ star may be known for playing loveable mechanic Dan Spencer in the long-running soap but he has admitted he’d really like to show fans that he has the ability to adapt his talents by portraying the iconic Time Lord in the popular sci-fi series.
Speaking to Inside Soap magazine, he explained: “As an actor, I’d wan tot be Doctor Who, and I think so do most actors. But if I wasn’t in ‘Emmerdale’, I’d want to be a producer – because I write as well and want to do a bit more of that.”
And the 46-year-old actor certainly has his sights set high as he looks up to Tom Hanks as his “acting hero” and would love nothing more than to follow in his footsteps.
He said: “I’d say Tom Hanks because of his acting ability, but also because interviews he seems like a really top bloke. He seems kind of ordinary and isn’t full of all the showbiz nonsense. But in this country, I’d say Timothy Spall. When I was a fat kid at school, I used to do impressions of him as Barry Taylor in ‘Auf Wiedersehen, Pet’. Those impressions were probably the start of my career.”

Scarlett Moffatt's grown taller with weight loss

OHMYGOSSIP — Scarlett Moffatt has lost so much weight, she’s gone down a shoe size.
The 23-year-old reality star has shed a staggering 46lbs and it isn’t just her slender physique that looks different now, as she’s also grown taller.
She said “I’ve dropped a shoe size and grown an inch. Can you believe that I’ve lost weight off my feet? It’s funny when I look at old ‘Gogglebox’ shows now, all I can see if these big feet.
“The last time I went to the doctor’s they told me I was an inch taller – so I have gone from 5′ to 5′ 1″ – I am loving that extra inch. I think it was because my weight was weighing me down so much, I was all hunched over.”
And the ‘Gogglebox’ star is also delighted that she’s no longer in constant pain as her J-sized breasts have shrunk.
She told MailOnline: “It’s fantastic because before I was getting really bad headaches and sore shoulders because of my boobs.
“I was a J cup and I had to literally go into maternity shops or buy from online specialist stores to get a bra to fit me.
“And now I never get those headaches, it’s incredible.”
Scarlett was at risk of diabetes before her dramatic transformation and is enjoying the health benefits of slimming down.
She said: “I think you know you have to do something about your weight if it’s stopping you from doing normal things.
“I was tired and lethargic all the time. Last year I couldn’t climb the stairs in my flat without getting out of breath.
“I used to feel like I was going to collapse – now I can fly up the stairs.”

Nicole Kidman snubbed Broadway for daughters

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicole Kidman opted out of a Broadway play because her daughters didn’t want her to do it.
The ‘Lion’ actress enjoyed her stint in London’s West End in ‘Photograph 51’ in 2015, and was keen to reprise her role in the production in New York, but Sunday, eight, and six-year-old Faith – her kids with husband Keith Urban – were unhappy at the prospect because she missed too much family time because of her stage commitments.
She admitted: “‘Photograph 51’ was such a profound, spontaneous, incredible experience. I loved that instantaneous reaction, which you never have with film.
“I wanted to do ‘Photograph 51’ on Broadway, that was the plan.
“But then I put the plan to my girls and they said nope!
“When I did it, it was hard, I wasn’t there for bedtimes, I wasn’t there for dinner and this is where a balance between work and family is impossible.
“You have to make a choice and it will always be them.”
And the 49-year-old star – who also has grown-up kids Connor, 21, and Isabella, 25, with ex-husband Tom Cruise – admitted the youngsters are a big factor when it comes to choosing her movie roles because she has to fit her work around their schedule.
She told OK! magazine: “They’ll come wherever I’m working. But it has to work for them and their lives, their routines.
“I can’t pick up and take a job because it appeals to me, because it’s what I want to do.”
Nicole recently revealed the statement-sleeved Alexander McQueen dress she donned for the Golden Globes was chosen by her daughters, even though it wasn’t to her usual tastes.
She said: “I was trying all the frocks on and when I put this on they both jumped up and said, ‘Mummy, you look like a beautiful fairy on that dress!’ So that was it. I stopped trying on any of the others and said to them that I’m wearing the fairy dress to the Globes.
“It’s not really what I would normally wear but it made the girls happy.”
