Tommy Mallet in back brace

OHMYGOSSIP — Tommy Mallet has been “stuck in a back brace” for almost a month.
The ‘Only Way is Essex’ star has been heavily criticised for piling on the pounds over the festive season but he has admitted his weight gain has been down to piriformis syndrome – a condition in which the piriformis muscle, located in the buttock region, spasms and causes buttock pain – and he’s been struggling to walk let alone exercise.
Taking to his Instagram account on Monday (16.01.17), the reality TV hunk uploaded a photograph of him with his blue back brace on alongside the caption: “Put so much weight on over December from having piriformis syndrome.. Been stuck in a back brace.. But lost a stone in 7 days.. I ain’t a ripped geezer but considering I’ve struggled to walk I think I’ve done ok!! Thanks @georgiakousoulou for pushing me (sic)”
The blonde-haired heartthrob initially tried to shrug off the nasty comments about his weight gain earlier this week by claiming that he didn’t care how much his belly popped out because he’s more interested in being written about in the top business magazine Forbes for his work than being recognised for having a ripped physique.
He said: “People love abusing me about my weight on Instagram. Remember.. I’m aiming for @Forbes your aiming for a 6pack.. We are different yeah (sic).”
Tommy has thrown himself into his shoe line Mallet since gaining fame on ‘The Only Way is Essex’ and some of his designs have been worn by producer Will.i.am.

Angie Best: Coleen Nolan's failing marriage is down to weight gain

OHMYGOSSIP — Angie Best thinks Coleen Nolan’s marriage has broken down because of her weight gain.
The 64-year-old former model – who recently shared the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house with the daytime chat show host before getting the boot last week – thinks the brunette star would be able to get her marriage to Ray Fensome back on track if she shed some pounds.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Loose Women’ on Monday (16.01.17) the fitness guru explained: “Coleen is a very strong, independent woman. But at that age, you lose your mojo, your lose your confidence. I didn’t know [then] about her marriage problems.”
But Coleen’s co-presenters were quick to defend their friend about the weight jibes and thinks her belly may have bulged because she’s poured her attention into her failed relationship.
Lisa Riley – who has recently dropped 10 stone – said: “But maybe that’s the last thing she wants to think about – she’s having marriage problems, she doesn’t want to think about training and weight loss. The last thing she wants to do is lose weight.”
Angie replied: “But if she had taken that on board earlier, maybe she wouldn’t have marital problems.”
Outspoken Linda Robson added: I don’t think the marital problems are to do with her weight.”
To which Angie replied: “Well he said he didn’t find her attractive anymore. She still needs to have her confidence back.”
Angie previously clashed with Coleen earlier this month when she criticised her for her smoking habit, to which Coleen threatened to “smash her face in” if she continued with her harsh words, particularly when the death of her sister Bernie – who died from cancer – was brought up.

Danielle Lloyd lashes out at Jamie O'Hara over slap

OHMYGOSSIP — Danielle Lloyd has claimed she was forced to “lie” about her ex-husband Jamie O’Hara hitting her in Las Vegas two years ago for the sake of his sporting career.
The 33-year-old glamour model has taken a swipe at her former partner online by claiming he did actually slap her during a drunken row in the US in 2014 – something she covered up at the time – but she was told to deny it for his footballing reputation.
Taking to her Twitter account on Monday (16.01.17), she said: “Oh & the incident in vegas when I was drunk & jamie slapped me I lied & was told to say I deserved it for the sake of his career! No women Deserves to be slapped whoever drunk! A man had made vuglar & sexual remarks to me & I stood up for myself when no else did! (sic).”
The busty babe – who was married to the hunk for two years – lost her cool after Jamie accused her of pinching his cash in their divorce on national television last week.

Danielle believes their children Archie, six, Harry, five, and George, three, will watch the scenes of him in the infamous abode when they grow up and will be “amazed” by how much he’s tarnished their mother’s reputation on national television.
She added: “But we all know and his kids will see the show when they grow up and feel amazed of his behaviour! I don’t care what he does but talking &a lying about me is not on am the one who takes are of his kids 24/7 and get no respect for it x (sic)”

Binky Felstead's pregnancy will be on Made in Chelsea

OHMYGOSSIP — Binky Felstead’s pregnancy will feature on ‘Made in Chelsea’.
The 26-year-old beauty is expecting her first child with on/off boyfriend and co-star Josh ‘JP’ Paterson, and though she insists she won’t allow the birth to be filmed, she does want fans to be able to share in the “fun stuff”.
She said: “There won’t be cameras in the delivery suite.
“But you’ll see the fun stuff. The baby shower, guessing the sex.
“We don’t want to overexpose the baby. We want to share our excitement on the show as I have grown up on it and it’s where we met.
“It feels right but we are not sure how the baby will feature when it arrives. There’s still a lot to talk about.”
While some of Binky’s friends, including Ollie Locke, Louise Thompson and Rosie Fortescue, have been critical of her relationship with JP, the pair insist they don’t care what anyone else thinks about their baby news.
JP said: “I don’t really care [how they’ll react]. If anything, it’s the least of our worries.
“Some have their motives for being positive about us, others don’t.
“I’m not going to lose sleep over it. And we don’t need people being pessimistic.”
Binky added to HELLO! magazine: “We’re starting this year with a blank slate. It’s a new start. We have enough support. If people don’t agree with what we’re doing then I guess we don’t want them in our lives. We’re incredibly lucky and feel so blessed to bring this life into the world. We don’t need anyone else to give us their blessing.”

Danniella Westbrook's saviour son inspires her to quit drugs

OHMYGOSSIP — Danniella Westbrook was inspired to get off cocaine after her son Kai found her lying unconscious in a hotel room.
The former ‘EastEnders’ actress relapsed into drug abuse last year after contracting a form of septicaemia last year caused by dental work she had for TV show ‘Celebrity Botched Up Bodies’, and her cocaine use got even worse when her boyfriend George Arnold separated from her due to her Class A problem.
In the wake of the split, Daniella, 43, was living at a hotel and heavily using and one evening when 20-year-old Kai – her son with Robert Fernandez – came to see her and she didn’t respond to him he had to kick down the toilet door to find her passed out on the floor.
The moment she came round and saw the “fear” in Kai’s eyes made her determined to get clean again.
In an appearance on ‘Loose Women’ on Monday (16.01.17), she said: “When I get poorly or something happens for me, my depression is bad the first thing I do is pick up drugs. So I relapsed badly, and George – who doesn’t take drugs – was like, ‘I can’t live like this.’ I can see myself getting lower and then I completely withdraw from myself. I tried to hide it from George as much possible. George has never taken drugs, he’s like the ideal man, he just didn’t know what to do and he said, ‘I can’t watch you do it, I can’t watch you die in front of me.’ I just lost it. I had septicaemia, I was in hospital for seven weeks and I couldn’t work.”
Recalling the harrowing moment with her son, she added: “Just recently, what people don’t know is I was so bad when I split up from George, rather than not using and trying to get him back I used more. “Kai turned up when I was staying in a hotel, Kai come over. I started using and Kai had to kick the toilet door down and he found me on the floor and I was out, gone. When I came too I could just see the fear in this kid and it broke me and I cleaned up. I’ve cleaned up and fixed up and set myself up in a hotel in Kensington because it’s full of meetings there, I go to four meetings a day – typically addict, I’m addicted to meetings.”
Daniella – who was joined on the programme by Kai – also revealed her 15-year-old daughter Jodie, whose dad is her ex-husband Kevin Jenkins, has not spoken to her for the past four months and doesn’t want her in her life until she can prove she’s totally clean.
She said: “Jodie for the last four months has said, ‘I won’t speak to you until you’re clean.’ Jodie had never seen me ill until she hit 13, she didn’t know me as anything but sober and then I had this relapse and her whole world fell apart.”
Since getting clean again, Daniella – whose nasal septum was eroded due to her heavy cocaine use – is back in touch with George and is hoping that they can reconcile.
She said: “I’m not back with him but George is my world. I speak to him every day and I’ve seen him the last couple of days and he’s my best friend in the world – him and the kids. I love him to bits and he’s helped me through everything, the best thing he could have done was walk at the time.”

Dakota Fanning makes switch from movies to TV's The Alienist

OHMYGOSSIP — Dakota Fanning is making a switch to TV with a role in ‘The Alienist’.
The 22-year-old actress is taking a break from her movie career to star in her first major television series.
Fanning will appear alongside Luke Evans and Daniel Bruhl in the three main roles in Jakob Verbruggen and Cary Fukunaga’s adaptation of Caleb Carr’s crime novel of the same name. The title of the story is a term for an individual who studies mental pathologies.
The plot is set in New York City in 1896 amidst a time of technological advances and a huge gap between rich and poor.
Following the brutal murders of several young male prostitutes police commissioner Theodore Roosevelt – the future US President – hires criminal psychologist Dr. Laszlo Kreiszler (Bruhl) and newspaper reporter John Moore (Evans, by process of elimination) to secretly investigate the crimes.
Fanning is to play smart secretary Sara Howard, who is part of Roosevelt’s staff whose ultimate ambition is to become New York’s first female police detective and she becomes part of Kreiszler and Moore’s team.
As well as investigating the murders, Kreiszler is also trying to come to terms with his own personal demons.
‘The Alienist’ is brought to the small screen by cable network TNT and Paramount Television and Studio T at a cost of $5 million-per-episode.
Shooting is scheduled to start in the coming months in Budapest, Hungary, and is scheduled to air at the end of 2017.

Deadpool 2 will set up X-Force film

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Deadpool 2’ will be used to set up an ‘X-Force’ film.
Writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have revealed the sequel, which sees Ryan Reynolds reprise his role as the wise-cracking anti-hero, will be responsible for introducing the military mutant squad created by Marvel Comics.
The co-writers insist the focus of ‘Deadpool 2’ – directed by David Leitch – will be to tell a Wade Wilson story but there will be an entry point to the X-Force characters.
In an interview with Collider, Reese said: “There is a responsibility we have to the ‘X-Force’ universe, and I do think we will not disappoint the fans going into ‘Deadpool 2’ and then setting up ‘X-Force’ and beyond … Its purpose is not to set up ‘X-Force’. It will likely set up ‘X-Force’, but the drive of the movie won’t be our eyes on movie three.”
Wernick added: “We never want to let the tail wag the dog. We want to tell the best ‘Deadpool’ story we can. But I do think we have a responsibility to think about a larger universe in the way that Marvel does and start to put pieces in place … but we want to avoid that responsibility to the extent that it hurts us. We want to hint at things, we want to plan some characters, and we want to make some nods, but we’re very, very cognisant about making sure that ‘Deadpool’ is above all a ‘Deadpool’ movie.”
The X-Force black ops group has at times featured Wolverine, Psylocke, Cyclops, Deadpool himself, Domino, Cable and Colossus among many other characters.
Colossus, Domino and Cable have all already been confirmed to be appearing in 20th Century Fox’s ‘Deadpool 2’.
Reynolds, 40, has previously admitted that making an ‘X-Force’ movie is his number one “priority” because he is such a fan of the comic book series.
He said: “In the future, if we’re doing a bunch more ‘Deadpool’ movies, we’re really going to explore the X-Men a lot. And maybe X-Force. X-Force is my priority. I really want to get that in.”

Jasmine Waltz evicted from Celebrity Big Brother

OHMYGOSSIP — Jasmine Waltz has been evicted from the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house.
The 34-year-old model – who also took part in the Channel 5 show in 2014 – has been given the boot from the competition after her fellow housemates chose to eliminate her in a “secret” task as part of the series’ Weekend From Hell.
The task encouraged the celebrities to fight against each other to return to the main house, the ‘Land of the Living’, and a source has now revealed to The Sun newspaper that the brunette beauty is now “in hiding” until the scenes are aired tonight (16.01.17).
Her shock eviction comes after the actress had a meltdown over the weekend, in which she raged to her housemates that she needs some time to herself.
She ranted: “I don’t give a f*** about any of this. Who cares.”
Also part of the Weekend From Hell task, viewers saw James Jordan escape hell after he won a Purgatory-themed task that resembled ‘SAW’ and later sent Calum Best to replace him, where he joined housemates Spencer and Heidi Montag, Stacy Francis, Coleen Nolan and James Cosmo, who are currently away from their luxuries in hell.
Jasmine’s exit comes as the third evictee to leave the famous abode after her former housemates Austin Armacost and Angie Best were given the axe last weekend.
Speaking in her elimination interview, Angie said: “Listen, I went in there to spend time with my son Calum. Otherwise there is no way I would have done that. My son was there so I said yes. Nine days in a bubble with all of those emotions and people. It’s enough now! Time for mum to go and let them get on with it.”
Ray J and Brandon Block also decided to leave last week.

Holly Willoughby's cat pees on sofa

OHMYGOSSIP — Holly Willoughby’s new pussy keeps urinating on her sofa.
The ‘This Morning’ host has enlisted the help of a pet therapist because her Ragdoll kittens – Bluebell and Teddy – won’t use their litter trays and pee over her fabric.
Speaking on the brunchtime show on Monday (16.01.17), she said: “He’s got a problem. The kids were like, ‘Mummy you’re going to tell everyone that he pees on the sofa.’ My cats are brother and sister, but he’s a monster compared to her, they’re the same age but he’s so much bigger than her. She’s great. Ted’s fine. They’re as good as gold, they’re so social. I have never had cats who are so calm as kittens but he just, as soon as he can get up on that sofa, he’s up there and pees everywhere.”
The blonde beauty has done all she can to train her fluffy friends but doesn’t know what more she can do as she’s already scattered three litter trays around the house.
She explained: “I didn’t have initially because someone said that when you have two cats, they don’t necessarily like to poop in the same place. So I’ve got one that’s got a cat flap on it, one that’s open, another one that’s like that so I’ve now got three. It’s only pee, it’s not poop. He’s only done one poop outside of the litter tray.”
But the 35-year-old presenter thinks the location of their food could be to blame.
She told the pet guru: “The other thing that might be an issue is where they’re being fed at the moment. Roxy – our other cat – never had an issue. She had her litter tray and then she had her food and it was all in one corner.”
Holly got the two kittens just a few months after her other cat Roxy passed away.
She said at the time: “We went to sleep and we left her and when we got up she had passed away in her sleep. There had been nothing wrong with her. It was a real shock for every body. She was a big part of the family, always been there for the kids.”

Kellie Bright gives birth to baby boy

OHMYGOSSIP — Kellie Bright gave birth to her second child three months ago.
The ‘EastEnders’ star and her husband Paul Stocker welcomed their little son Gene into the world on November 21 following a swift seven-hour labour.
Kellie said: “It’s such a cliche but it really is a love like nothing else. In that moment you feel like everything you need is right there in that room … I couldn’t believe in only seven hours he’d arrived and my whole world and changed again.”
The 40-year-old actress was initially worried about how her five-year-old son Freddy would take to his new little brother but she has admitted she was pleasantly surprised.
She explained: “He was immediately very sweet with him – tickling his feet, singing him lullabies and calling him ‘Baby Gene’ or ‘My baby brother’.”
But Gene’s first few months in the world haven’t gone completely according to plan as he was forced to spend three days in hospital last month after he was struck down with bronchiolitis – a common lower respiratory tract infection that affects babies and young children under two years old – and spent hours relying on a oxygen machine.
Kellie said: “He had a nasty cough but the doctor assured me he’d be fine. Then suddenly he went down hill so we rushed him to hospital. He had to spend a few nights in hospital on oxygen but he’s home now and on the road to recovery.”
And, although she’s only just given birth, Kellie is already thinking about another baby.
Speaking to OK! magazine, she said: “I said right away in the delivery room that I want another baby. I don’t feel ready to shut the door on motherhood just yet.”

Danniella Westbrook to appear on Loose Women

OHMYGOSSIP — Danniella Westbrook will appear on ‘Loose Women’ on Monday (16.01.17).
The 43-year-old actress recently admitted that the last 12 months have been so tough for her that she considered killing herself on nine separate occasions but it seems she’s now managed to get her life back on track and will join the panel alongside her 20-year-old son Kai today as she opens up about her demons.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Kai is so proud of his mum for owning up about her demons and facing them head on. He recently spoke about how tough it was for him at times as a child, but he loves his mum so much. He wants her to be happy and healthy, and she wants the same for him.”
The former ‘EastEnders’ star developed septicaemia last year, which she claims was from dental implants she had fitted on ‘Celebrity Botched Up Bodies’, and she was forced to spend weeks in hospital while doctors tried to get the infection, which can be fatal if not treated, under control with antibiotics.
But she was later informed she had no choice but to have all of her teeth ripped out after the bacteria spread to the roof of her mouth.
She said at the time when people were speculating she was pregnant: “I’ve been in hospital. I’ve had to have all my teeth removed for a blood and bone infection, through no fault of my own. I’m not on drugs and I’m not pregnant … I’m just very, very, poorly with a blood infection.”
Her toothless look and prolonged hospital stay plunged Danniella – who famously lost her septum in 2000 due her excessive use of cocaine – into deep depression and this in turn lead to her trying to overdose on tablets.
Danniella – who also has 13-year-old daughter Jody – said: “When you relapse and you take drugs, you don’t see that [leaving the kids]. All you see is selfishness and a way out. So you carry on taking more drugs because you’re so low on such a comedown that you just think you want to kill yourself. I didn’t overdose on cocaine. I was just taking tablets orally.”
In the run up to Christmas, Danniella was also made homeless and her car was repossessed.

Gavin Rossdale hopes The Voice gig will boost Bush's album sales

OHMYGOSSIP — Gavin Rossdale hopes ‘The Voice UK’ will boost his band Bush’s album sales.
The 51-year-old rocker – who is on the judging panel with Sir Tom Jones, will.i.am and Jennifer Hudson – has admitted that one of the reasons he was keen to take on the coaching role on the ITV talent show was so he could build up some memento ahead of the release of the rock group’s long-awaited follow-up to 2014’s ‘Man on the Run’.
Asked if he signed up to the show to help his own music career – like former judge Ricky Wilson admitted to – he said: “Of course. It would be disingenuous to say it’s not self-serving as well.
“Maroon 5 weren’t the band they are now when Adam Levine started on ‘The Voice’ in America.”
However, the hunky singer says seeing contestants through the competition and realising their dreams gives him the biggest satisfaction.
He added: “Aside from that, when you get involved in the show, and I mentored on the show in America, what takes you by surprise is when you meet the contestants who dream of being singers and getting on the show is the biggest thing that’s happened to them.
“It ceases to be about you, it becomes about the process of watching the singer’s blossom.
“When you give your life to music and then you get the chance to give back to people who are coming up, it’s a luxury.”
Gavin – who was previously married to Gwen Stefani – moved back to the UK with the intention of finding the first British “superstar” and to help them have a successful career.
Asked why he took on the job, he told the Metro newspaper: “I thought it would be interesting to find a superstar in England.
“‘The Voice’ around the world hasn’t managed to produce anyone, so It’s a challenge.
“And I wanted to be back in England – It gives a different slant to my already manic life.”
‘The Voice UK’ continues on ITV on Saturday (21.01.17).

Katherine Kelly gives birth to second child

OHMYGOSSIP — Katherine Kelly has given birth to her second child.
The 37-year-old actress and her husband Ryan Clark – who already have three-year-old daughter Orla – welcomed their little girl into the world three months ago but decided to keep their news a secret because she didn’t want to be involved in a “bump watch.”
Speaking to HELLO! magazine, Katherine said: “We didn’t go out of our way to keep it a secret but we didn’t announce the pregnancy so people were not immediately on bump watch. So it’s been wonderful to have this precious time just for us.
“It is different if you are in something like ‘Coronation Street’, as you can’t keep it quiet. It leaks within a second as paparazzi are always at the gates.”
The former ‘Coronation Street’ star met her second child named Rose on October 21 following a speedy labour and water birth at London’s Whittington Hospital.
She explained: “It was a rush to get to the hospital and by the time we were checked in, Rose was born within one hour and 40 minutes!”
The blonde beauty decided to put her career on the back burner when she gave birth to her first daughter Orla three years ago but is adamant that she will continue to work as well as care for her kids this time around because she loves her job so much.
She said: “I love my job but I do want to spend as much time as I can with Orla and Rose. To have two healthy children is a blessing.”
And it seems Katherine and Ryan are good at keeping secrets as they also opted for the hush hush option when they tied the knot in an intimate ceremony three years ago.
The couple fled to Las Vegas without telling anyone – not even family – to get hitched.
She said at the time: “The day was everything we hoped it would be – no fuss, low-key, sunshine and just us. We wanted to enjoy the day without all the usual planning and pressure. We just wanted to let it roll, so it had an on-the-run feel to it.”

Ben Affleck taking his time on The Batman script

OHMYGOSSIP — Ben Affleck is “taking a little extra time and a little extra care” on ‘The Batman’ script to ensure the blockbuster is perfect.
The 44-year-old actor has been busy working on his first standalone adventure as The Caped Crusader following his debut as the Gotham City saviour in ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ and his next appearance in ‘Justice League’.
Affleck – who is set to write and direct the project as well as star in it – has not yet completed the plot but what he has got on paper he is very “excited” about and is sure DC Comics fans will love it.
In an interview with Cineplex.com, he shared: “We’re still working on the script, taking a little extra time and a little extra care to really get it right on paper first. But it’s looking very good and I’m excited about it.”
The ‘Live by Night’ star wrapped shooting on ‘Justice League’ at the end of 2016 and he says the dynamic between the squad of superheroes, which includes Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), The Flash (Ezra Miller) and Aquaman (Jason Momoa), provides an interesting dynamic for the movie.
He said: “‘Justice League’, you probably saw the teaser that came out of Comic-Con; I thought it is nicely emblematic of the kind of minor tone shift and segue in storytelling. It’s a little bit lighter, the characters are a little bit more comfortable in themselves, so they can express a wider array of emotions. And there are just more people in it, so it’s more fun. It’s all of these different characters bumping up against each other and the team dynamic offers a lot of dramatic possibility.”
Referring to some of the specific differences seen in his Batman in the ensemble film, he added: “I think the most profound difference is that I’m playing the part at an older age … and it’s about a guy who’s had a long life of this experience, rather than someone who’s just setting out on the journey to become this guy. He’s older and wiser, I guess. And he was pretty pissed off in ‘Batman v Superman’, but now it’s not about finding revenge in ‘Justice League’, it’s about protecting the Earth. So the feel is different.”
‘The Batman’ is scheduled to be released in 2018.

Dev Patel writing a screenplay

OHMYGOSSIP — Dev Patel is writing “an anthem for youth”.
The ‘Lion’ actor has turned his attention to crafting his own screenplays and is currently working on a “hyper-modern” action film which is based on Hindu mythology tales.
He said: “I’m writing a hyper-modern action film, based on 5,000-year-old Hindu mythology, set in a heightened Bombay – an anthem for youth.”
The 26-year-old star never studied acting as a youngster but instead has honed his craft from working with “great directors” and co-stars such as Dame Judi Dench, Dame Maggie Smith, and Nicole Kidman.
He told Observer New Review magazine: “[My co-stars] have a curiosity about life, a sense of humour and emotional reserve. I never went to acting school.
“Everything I’ve learned, I’ve learned from great directors and my co-stars.
“Acting is about honesty. When I began, I was trying to squeeze as much emotion out of roles as I could and get big laughs. Now it’s about doing less, cutting away the fat.”
As he gets older, the former ‘Skins’ star is keen to show his “emotional range” and felt portraying Saroo Brierley, who tries to trace his Indian birth family after being adopted by an Australian couple, was the perfect role to do that.
He said: “I’m 26 and, like most actors my age, hungry to show emotional range.
“This role enabled me to play a character suffering real pain, a change from the scripts that want you as a funny sidekick.
“It took eight months to prepare. I wanted to commit every fibre of my being to getting it right. I had to bulk up, grow my hair, learn the accent.
“At my last audition, where I met the director Garth Davis, I’d been in ‘The Man Who Knew Infinity’ and was skinny, with a buzzcut.
“I had to get myself a personal trainer and started eating like a glutton – downing the protein shakes.”

Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards axed from The Jump for publicly raising safety concerns

OHMYGOSSIP — Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards has reportedly been axed from ‘The Jump’ after publicly raising health and safety concerns.
The 53-year-old former Olympic skier – who famously finished in last place in both the 70m and 90m ski jump events at the 1988 winter Olympics – had been a commentator on the celebrity winter sports show since its launch in 2014, but “sensitive” producers have reportedly given him the boot after he said he was “surprised” the programme was renewed for a fourth series.
Speaking about the Channel 4 show – which has seen celebrities face countless nasty injuries and has since been branded TV’s most dangerous show – in October, Eddie said: “I kept on telling the producers, ‘It’s going to get very difficult, very hairy’ and they said, ‘No it’s all right’ and they’ve carried on and they’ve had so many accidents.
“I was very surprised they’re going to have another series.”
Producers of the programme believe it would be “hard” for Eddie to appear on the show again after his comments, as he would “have to explain them”.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Producers didn’t like what he was saying about the show as it came in for a lot of stick.
“They are really sensitive because of the amount of people who have broken their legs or been seriously hurt.
“It would be hard for Eddie to appear on the show after his comments because he would have to explain them and there is a high chance someone else will get injured.”
Viewers demanded the show be pulled off screens last year after Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle broke her back, swimmer Rebecca Adlington dislocated her shoulder and actress Tina Hobley fractured her arm while taking part in the competition last January.
However, show bosses insist there will be less risks this time as much of the show will be pre-recorded.
A source said: “The celebrities flew out yesterday and will be filming for at least a month before the show starts. The producers don’t want to risk anything this year and pre-recording most stuff makes it a lot easier.
“There have been a few injuries on camera in the past – not just in training – so they want to avoid those situations. It also means the celebs won’t take bigger risks as the adrenaline won’t be pumping like it does on the live shows.”
‘The Jump’ will return to Channel 4 on February 5.
