Channel 4 to begin filming The Great British Bake Off

OHMYGOSSIP — Channel 4 is to start filming ‘The Great British Bake Off’.
The show – which is set to move over from the BBC after Channel 4 signed a three-year deal with the programme’s makers Love Productions – has got the green light to start shooting shortly, with hopes the new series will air later this year.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “This has been a massive blockage which would have seen the show off air until 2018. That could have done real damage to the brand. But most importantly, the fans would have missed out.
“It’s great news they’ve agreed not to enforce the contract – and the producers can get on with bringing it back to screens this year.”
It is thought the BBC had intended to insist the company stuck to a contract that could have kept the popular baking show off the air until 2018.
‘Bake Off’ was poached by Channel 4 last September after Love Productions failed to reach an agreement with the BBC after a year of negotiations.
Hosts Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc and judge Mary Berry all pledged their loyalty to the BBC and refused to move with the show whilst Paul Hollywood opted to sign up to the new series after being offered a reported preliminary sum of £1 million for a three-year contract.
He said at the time: “Since I was a kid, baking has been part of my life. The seven series inside the tent have created some great memories. Best of all, I have felt so pleased to experience other people getting the baking bug, just as I did when my dad helped me make my first loaf.
“The ‘Great British Bake Off’ has brought baking to the nation and we’ve seen people from all walks of life and backgrounds, experience the highs and lows of competition, and more importantly helping each other. It’s been a huge part of my life in the past few years and I just couldn’t turn my back on all that – the bakers themselves, the bakes, the team that makes it, and of course the tent, the bunting, and who could forget … the squirrels. So I am delighted that I will be continuing as a judge when ‘Bake Off’ moves to Channel 4.”

Ewen Bremner: Jelly, chocolate and fudge made my Trainspotting bed soiling scene

OHMYGOSSIP — Ewen Bremner’s bed soiling scene in ‘T2 Trainspotting’ involved jelly, chocolate and fudge.
The 45-year-old actor – who plays the role of Daniel ‘Spud’ Murphy in both the original 1996 ‘Trainspotting’ film and also its latest sequel ‘T2 Trainspotting’ – says the crew went the extra mile to ensure the scene in which his character poos in his girlfriend’s bed looked as realistic as possible.
He said: “The props department did a lot of in-depth research. I remember it being a mix of jelly, chocolate and fudge and they worked really hard to get it the right consistency.
“We had to do that scene several times to get the splatter as disgusting as possible. It was all hands on deck to get the maximum gross-out effect.”
The movie is set 20 years after the original and sees Mark (Ewan McGregor) return to Scotland to make amends with his friends Daniel ‘Spud’ Murphy (Bremner) and Simon ‘Sick Boy’ Williamson (Jonny Lee Miller).
And Bremner finds it hard to shake his character Spud as he constantly gets spotted off screen, with people shouting ‘Oi! Spud!’ at him on the street.
He explained: “It’s been pretty consistent. People feel Trainspotting has made a dent in their hearts, so pretty much wherever I go I get people wanting to talk about it. I get asked for a lot of selfies. I feel a bit selfied out at the moment.”
Bremner is gearing up to star in the upcoming ‘Wonder Woman’ movie.
Speaking about his involvement, he teased to the Metro newspaper: “I don’t know [what I can tell you] it’s really under wraps. I was shocked they let me be properly Scottish in it.
“I was expecting the Americans would ask me to gentrify my accent a little bit, or the humour even, but they let me go as far as I liked. I had plenty of fun on it.”

Naomie Harris: Working on low budget film Moonlight was 'liberating'

OHMYGOSSIP — Naomie Harris felt liberated working on ‘Moonlight’ as “no one was there for the pay cheque”.
The 40-year-old actress shot to fame when she starred in big budget Bond film ‘Spectre’ but she says working on her latest film was “amazing” as the cast and crew were more focused on doing their job than being paid lots.
She said: “It was fantastic, I absolutely loved it. It was so liberating because it was all about the work – nobody was there for the pay cheque, and nobody expected this movie to do as well as it has done. It was this experiment for us, we were just so passionate about telling this story.”
‘Moonlight’ tells the story of the life of a young man who struggles to find his place in the world whilst growing up in a rough neighbourhood of Miami.
Harris spent just three days filming her scenes, as at the time she was busy on a month-long promotion tour for ‘Spectre’.
She added: “I was aging 15 years, and it wasn’t shot in sequence either so I was jumping back and forth in ages, so the world couldn’t have been more different.
“I came from the glamour of Bond and then this is the lowest budget movie I have ever been a part of – it’s a tiny budget – normally on a film set everybody has trailers … there was one rickety wooden make-up stall which all of us actors used to line up in the morning and wait for our turn on this stall that’s how low budget it was.”
When the Oscar nominations are revealed, Harris hopes that ‘Moonlight’ gets a nod.
Speaking on ITV’s Lorraine about what an Oscar nomination would mean for the film, she shared: “It’s a big deal for a movie like this because we don’t have a big publicity budget, it’s not like other movies that can use adverts on TV, we just don’t, so it would make a huge difference to us to get a nomination.”

Jeremy McConnell will support Stephanie Davis if he's baby's dad

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeremy McConnell will “step up” and support Stephanie Davis if he’s the father of her baby.
The 26-year-old heavily-inked hunk – who is convinced he isn’t related to the child – is determined to get a paternity test done on the newborn, whose name is not yet known, as soon as possible following his birth 10 days ago because he’s adamant he’ll do all he can to ensure the little one has the best upbringing if it turns out that he belongs to him.
He told Star magazine: “I am delighted that Steph has safely had the baby. If he is my son, I will absolutely step up and do what I can to support him. Any timescale for that is in Steph’s hands now. I did reach out to her some weeks ago but didn’t hear back.”
The Irish heartthrob was in Thailand when the 23-year-old beauty – who he split from in May last year following a series of blazing rows – went into labour but he caught the first flight back to Dublin, where he lives, so that he could kick start the paternity test when he heard she had given birth.
A source said: “He’s told friends he really wants to sort the situation out and find out if he is the father. If he is the dad of his child, then he’s determined to step up to the plate.”
But it seems Jeremy isn’t the only person who thinks he may be the father of the little one as ‘Ex on the Beach’ star Josh Ritchie – who the actress had a fling with last year – is worried he may be the dad of the baby and has been in contact with Stephanie regarding his concern.
He said while the star was in labour: “I have spoken to Steph. I slept with Steph a year ago. I’m worried – she could turn up on my doorstep with the baby any time soon.”

Kristina Rihanoff: Dance Dance Dance lacks 'flavour'

OHMYGOSSIP — Kristina Rihanoff has slammed ITV’s ‘Dance Dance Dance’ for lacking “flavour”.
The 39-year-old former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional has hit out at the broadcaster’s new dance competition which tasks celebrities with recreating famous dances, saying the show lacks originality as it’s whole premise is “copying someone else’s famous craft”.
Kristina also slammed the judges on the show – choreographer Tina Landon, dancer Timor Steffens, and Diversity creator Ashley Banjo – as she claims no-one knows “who they are”.
She said: “The show doesn’t have any flavour to it. It is copying someone else’s famous craft.
“Putting American judges on the team to me as well, they might be amazing choreographers but we don’t know who they are. There a lot of things they could have done better.”
And Kristina also claimed the ITV show – which features JLS singer JB Gill and ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star Jessica Wright among its contestants – isn’t “exciting”, and said it doesn’t have the “longevity” that ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ has.
She added to The Sun newspaper: “I watched one episode of ‘Dance Dance Dance’ and that was it. I didn’t understand it.
“You actually want to see something exciting. That’s why ‘Strictly…’ has longevity, you watch and you want your favourite one to get through to the next week.”
Kristina – who has seven-month-old daughter Milena with her husband Ben Cohen – quit the BBC dance competition when she fell pregnant, but has previously admitted she had always planned to bow out in order to pursue other ventures.
She said previously: “In my mind, I sort of thought, ‘OK, this is enough. I want to do something different.’ And I actually had a tour planned around the UK with my partner Robin Windsor.
“So I knew I was going to do my own thing, my own show after ‘Strictly…’. But clearly the universe had other things planned as it all worked out differently.”

Stacy Francis wants to get into bed with Calum Best

OHMYGOSSIP — Stacy Francis wants to “crawl in bed” with Calum Best.
The 47-year-old singer – who shot to fame on the US version of ‘The X Factor’ in 2011 – admitted she would love to kiss Calum after the duo engaged in flirtatious banter, but has insisted she would not have sex with him on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.
Speaking to her fellow housemates Bianca Gascoigne, Nicola McLean and Jamie O’Hara, Stacy said: “I love when he goes there with me and we just play. It’s fun, it’s innocent.
“I wouldn’t have sex on TV but I would definitely kiss.
“[I would go] right to the edge. I would crawl in bed with him and just kiss. Calum Best, you’re the best! But I wouldn’t, like, do the do, because I have kids. I can’t be on national television doing that! But if he was ready to do a little something, I’d be like, ‘Come on boo!'”
However, Stacy conceded she is probably not the type of woman Calum, 35, would normally be attracted to.
She explained: “I’m just being honest. I’m not playing the victim, I don’t think I’m his type. I think I’m a little too chubby, a little too old, I have all these considerations.
“Outside of here, I wouldn’t see myself as his type. That’s all. And that’s okay. I’m secure enough in who I am to accept myself, that doesn’t bother me.”
Meanwhile, Stacy became embroiled in a heated row with Kim Woodburn after she whipped her clean clothes out of the washing machine and scattered them across the laundry room because she wanted to use the appliance.
In a lengthy rant, Stacy shouted: “You put my stuff on the floor! That’s not disrespectful? I would never do that to anybody in this house. Why would you put it on the floor?
“You can’t come take somebody’s s**t out of the washing machine, put it on the floor and put your stuff in and make yourself right about it. And then get mad at me if I’m around the house screaming about it, because I have a right to.”
However, Kim claimed she had no idea the star’s clothes were clean and said there was nowhere else to put her washing.

Thomas Jane to join The Predator?

OHMYGOSSIP — Thomas Jane is in talks to join the cast of ‘The Predator’.
The 47-year-old actor is reportedly in final negotiations with Twentieth Century Fox to take up a role in the reboot of the popular 1987 sci-fi movie which will be helmed by director Shane Black – who previously starred in the original as Rick Hawkins, who was the first to die at the hands of the titular character.
Thomas’ casting announcement comes after Sterling K. Brown, Keegan-Michael Key, and Trevante Rhodes, were all recently announced as joining the movie as it prepares to head to production in Vancouver in February.
Details about Thomas’ role are not yet known, as much of the plot details are also being kept under wraps by the studio and its production team.
Boyd Holbrook is set to star alongside Olivia Munn in the movie’s lead role, which is said to involve an array of the alien hunters first made famous in the 1987 movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The casting of Boyd comes after the movie’s original lead actor, Benicio Del Toro, reportedly fell out with the studio over scheduling disagreements and dropped out of the production.
The actor was wanted by Fox for months and they had overcome an initial issue over his scheduling before pushing back the start date of filming to February so the star – who is to portray a villain in ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ later this year – could appear in the movie.
Black has already revealed the main character’s name in his ‘Predator’ movie will be Quinn McKenna.
He said: “The hero of the film, the name I’ve given the guy, is Quinn McKenna. Quinn McKenna. Rolls off the tongue, doesn’t it?”
Joel Silver, John Davis and Lawrence Gordon will produce the film.

Milla Jovovich reveals her long-held passion for Resident Evil video games

OHMYGOSSIP — Milla Jovovich thinks the success of the ‘Resident Evil’ franchise is based on the cast and crew’s passion for the video game series.
The 41-year-old actress has starred in all of the movie adaptations of the popular video games, and she believes that her enthusiasm for the storylines has been central to the success of the franchise.
She shared: “I played the game with my younger brother, Marco, and that’s how I found a connection with him in a way that he liked.
“Suddenly it’s like four hours later and we’ve been playing and I’m like, ‘Oh my god I’m addicted to this game.’ So I came into the film as a fan of the game. A lot of other people that are also working on the film were also fans of the game.
“So you have this core team that love the source material and I think that is so important, because it’s not just another Hollywood video game adaptation that’s going nowhere because the people are just doing it to make a buck. With this team however there’s a real honesty.”
Milla – who stars as Alice in the movies – said she initially joined the franchise because she thought it would be “fun”.
She told Channel24: “The first movie wasn’t even about getting paid. We were just doing an independent European action-horror flick and it was fun for us and exciting to be part of the ‘Resident Evil’ world and zombies and the undead.”
However, the actress admits to being surprised to have made as many as six ‘Resident Evil’ movies.
She said: “I never thought we would be making a number six. We have a good time making these movies and as long as we’re having fun and we’re excited about it, it will translate onto the screen.”

Star Wars: Episode VIII title is The Last Jedi

OHMYGOSSIP — The title for ‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’ has been confirmed as ‘The Last Jedi’.
Disney announced the name of the next instalment in the sci-fi series – originally created by George Lucas and Lucasfilm – on Monday (23.01.17) revealing the movie is “the next chapter in the Skywalker saga”.
The statement read: “We have the greatest fans in this or any other galaxy. In appreciation of the fans, we wanted them to be the first to know the title of the next chapter in the Skywalker saga: STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI.
“THE LAST JEDI is written and directed by Rian Johnson and produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman and executive produced by J.J. Abrams, Jason McGatlin, and Tom Karnowski. (sic)”
Disney also confirmed the worldwide release date for the film will be December 15, 2017.
The reference to the “Skywalker saga” sent fans into a frenzy on social media with many speculating that Rey (Daisy Ridley) will be revealed to be Jedi Master Luke Skywalker’s daughter following on from the end of ‘The Force Awakens’ when the mysterious scavenger character tracks down Mark Hamill’s alter ego who has been in hiding.
Director Johnson previously admitted that ‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’ would focus on Rey learning and beginning to understand her connection to The Force.
He explained: “Part of what’s she’s dealing with is the realisation that she has this power and this gift. She’s taking her first step to coming to terms with this thing inside her that she never knew was there and is just starting to reveal its potential.
“I don’t want to skip ahead two years. I want to see the very next moment of what happens.”
The returning cast includes John Boyega (Finn), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), Lupita Nyong’o (Maz Kanata), Gwendoline Christie (Captain Phasma), Dohmnall Gleeson (General Hux), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Andy Serkis (Snoke) and the late Carrie Fisher as General Leia.

Lauren Goodger will keep having boob jobs

OHMYGOSSIP — Lauren Goodger will keep having boob jobs until she has the perfect bosoms.
The 30-year-old reality TV star – who went under the knife in 2014 to take her ample 34D chest to a 34E – is toying with the idea of having a breast reduction because she feels her busty look doesn’t suit her frame following her recent weight loss.
But she has admitted she’s open to having another operation later down the line after she’s had children if she feels her cleavage isn’t as perky and uplifted as it once was.
Speaking to The Sun Online, she said: “I would like to breastfeed because I think it’s more natural and it’s better for the baby. If I do breastfeed and my boobs change I would have them done again, I’m not afraid to do that. Obviously I don’t know when it will happen but if I need to change my new implant then I will. I know it sound silly but it’s so common, it’s not a major, major issue for me. I’ve never had any complications or anything and my body heals really quickly so I have been lucky with things like that.
“With my first boob job, because I already had big boobs it was such an easy job to do with the shape and the size. I didn’t even need an uplift or all that rubbish.”
And the ‘Only Way is Essex’ beauty’s boyfriend Joey Morrison – who is currently serving a 17-year sentence for kidnap and burglary – is completely behind her risky decision.
She explained: “He’s always really supportive. I talk to Joey about a lot of things, the situation he’s in – when I go and see him there is a lot to talk about.
“I talk to Joey like he’s my best friend, we genuinely spend a lot of time just talking during my visits it’s quite sweet. My friends and family know I will do what I want to do but if I say I’m having my boobs done again because they know I’m going to go smaller. Everyone wants it if it’s something more natural or smaller. They’re like, ‘Go for it!’ ”

Gorden Kaye dies

OHMYGOSSIP — Gorden Kaye has died.
The ”Allo ‘Allo!’ actor – who played cafe owner Rene Artois in the World War Two sitcom – died at a care home on Monday (23.01.17) morning at the age of 75, his former agent confirmed to BBC News.
Gordon appeared in all 84 episodes of ”Allo ‘Allo!’, which was set in German-occupied France and centred on the exploits of resistance fighters, and ran from 1982 to 1992, and he also starred in a spin-off stage production.
He was last seen on screen in BBC sketch show ‘Revolver’ in 2004.
In January 1990, Gorden suffered from serious head injuries after being involved in a car accident during a storm and had to undergo emergency brain surgery.
The actor got his big break as Bernard Butler in ‘Coronation Street’ and also had roles in comedies such as ‘Citizen Smith’, ‘Born and Bred’ and ‘Till Death Us Do Part’, as well as the movie spin-off of ‘Porridge’.
His real name was Gordon, but he previously explained his stage name was the result of a typing error from performers’ union Equity.
He once said: “Before I could write back and tell them [of the mistake] I was taken into hospital with a kidney stone. When I regained consciousness there on the head of the bed was ‘Gorden Kaye’.”

Calum Best's ex-girlfriend can't stomach his flirting

OHMYGOSSIP — Calum Best’s on/off ex-girlfriend wanted to “vomit” when she saw him kiss Jasmine Waltz in the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house earlier this month.
The 35-year-old heartthrob split up with his lover Lindsey Pelas just before he entered the infamous abode at the beginning of January because they both knew he wouldn’t be able to stay faithful but she has admitted, although they’re no longer together, she can’t stomach him getting cosy with another woman on screen at the moment.
Speaking to OK! magazine, she said: “He can’t be in a full-time committed relationship and I get that, but also I’m not dating anyone else because I don’t think he’d like that.
“I don’t want to see someone I like flirting with other people so I watch clips on Twitter rather than full episodes. Seeing him with other girls makes me feel jealous but he’s in a weird position. I saw a clip of Jasmine kissing him on the lips. I saw it out of context and I was like, I hate that! I just wanted to vomit.”
Calum and Jasmine dated briefly while they were both living in Los Angeles a few years ago and had no trouble sharing a bed with one another in the ‘CBB’ house until the brunette beauty was given the boot by her fellow contestants two weeks ago.
However, a friend close to the pair are adamant they will not get back together and were just flirting with one another in front of the cameras in order to make good TV.
A source said at the time: “The reality is that he and Jasmine were close and had sent flirty texts to one another, so when they signed up for the show, it was a no-brainer they would couple up for the cameras.”

CBB: Stacy Francis slams Kim Woodburn

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Celebrity Big Brother’s Stacy Francis has lashed out at “disrespectful” Kim Woodburn for throwing her knickers across the room.
The 47-year-old singer – who shot to fame on the US version of ‘The X Factor’ in 2011 – let rip at the cleaner, 74, for whipping out her clean clothes out of the washing machine and scattering them across the laundry room because she wanted to use the appliance.
In a lengthy rant, Stacy shouted: “You put my stuff on the floor! That’s not disrespectful? I would never do that to anybody in this house. Why would you put it on the floor? You can’t come take somebody’s s**t out of the washing machine, put it on the floor and put your stuff in and make yourself right about it. And then get mad at me if I’m around the house screaming about it, because I have a right to.”
After the frizzy-haired beauty threatened to quit the show, Kim claimed she had no idea the star’s clothes were clean and said there was nowhere else to put her washing.
But the American singer took another swipe at the TV star because she thought it was “worse” that Kim thought her laundry was dirty and therefore pulled it all out of the machine.
Stacy said: “That’s worse. If you thought it was dirty clothes why wouldn’t you be considerate it and wash it then take our turn? If it’s not clean it means somebody has been in front of you to get their things washed, so you’re being selfish.”
But Stacy’s rant didn’t sit well with Kim and she told her not to mess with her.
Kim said: “Start with me and you’ll be very sorry.”
The explosive row can be seen in tonight’s (23.01.17) episode on Channel 5 at 9pm.

Woody Harrelson confirms Han Solo character?

OHMYGOSSIP — Woody Harrelson has suggested he will play Garris Shrike in the Han Solo ‘Star Wars’ spin-off.
The ‘Hunger Games’ actor was announced to be joining the movie in a mystery role last month and now he has seemingly confirmed he will portray the former bounty hunter who raised the smuggler.
Asked if he will play Han’s mentor, Garris Shrike, in the origins story, Woody paused for a long time, asked for a repeat of the question and then admitted to Variety: “Yeah, I am.”
However, Lucasfilm’s Pablo Hidalgo later took to Twitter to suggest all wasn’t as it seemed.
He tweeted: “I’ll let others sort it out, but ask yourself – what question was he answering?”
And website /film suggested the 55-year-old actor was just confirming he would play a mentor to the main character.
Woody previously teased his character is a “bit of a criminal”.
He said: “I’m a mentor to Han. I’m also a bit of a criminal.
“I don’t think I should say more than that because the Force is not allowing me.”
Movie bosses are thrilled to have the actor on board for the movie alongside Alden Ehrenreich (Han Solo), Donald Glover (Lando Calrissian) and Emilia Clarke.
Of Woody’s casting, the film’s directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller said: “We couldn’t be more excited to work with an artist with as much depth and range as Woody.
“His ability to find both humour and pathos, often in the same role, is truly unique. He is also very good at ping pong.”
His casting comes after LucasFilm chief Kathleen Kennedy – who is also a producer for the film – teased the movie will have a “Western-type feel”.
She revealed: “This moves closer to a heist or Western-type feel. We’ve talked about [Western-era artist Frederic] Remington and those primary colours that are used in his paintings defining the look and feel of the film.”
The movie – which is currently untitled – is slated for release in late 2018.
