Daisy Ridley set to star in spy film A Woman of No Importance

OHMYGOSSIP — Daisy Ridley is set to star in new spy film ‘A Woman of No Importance’.
The film will tell the story of real-life American super-spy Virginia Hall and her journey to become one of the most important covert agents for the Allies during World War II.
Baltimore native Virginia – a gifted linguist – had attempted to became part of the American Foreign Service in the years leading up to World War II but after she lost a leg in a hunting accident she was rejected because of her gender and disability, however, she became part of the British Special Operations Executive based in France and was considered “the most dangerous of all Allied spies by the Nazi Gestapo.
She went onto to work with the American Office of Strategic Services and the Special Activities Division of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
The movie will be based on the biography of the same name by Sonia Purnell, the rights of which have acquired by Paramount Pictures.
Ridley, 24, is expected to take on the lead role although her actual casting is yet to be confirmed.
Bad Robot – the production company run by J.J. Abrams, the man responsible for casting the British starlet as Rey in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ – is producing but no writer or director are attached yet.
Ridley has a busy year ahead; she is currently shooting Sir Kenneth Branagh’s ‘Murder On The Orient Express’ and is attached to Lionsgate’s upcoming ‘Chaos Walking’, ‘Kolma’ and independent film ‘Ophelia’, while she will also be voicing a character in the ‘Peter Rabbit’ film.
Daisy will also be seen again as Rey in ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ which hits cinemas this December.

Kristina Rihanoff: It was a 'mistake' to script Sir Bruce Forsyth on Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Kristina Rihanoff thinks it was a “mistake” for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ bosses to script Sir Bruce Forsyth’s jokes.
The 88-year-old television presenter hosted the BBC Latin and ballroom dance competition from 2004 to 2013 and Kristina – who was a professional dancer on the show from 2008 to 2015 – believes that despite being a household name for his presenting duties, Bruce would have been even better if the bosses had let him present without a script.
She told The Sun newspaper: “Bruce is best when he’s not scripted.
“His wife invited me to his stand up once he had left the show and he was incredible.
“Two hours, one man show – he was outstanding and you never got to see that on Strictly because he was scripted. That was a mistake.
“He is the best when he’s telling jokes without being told what to say.”
And it isn’t the only time the 39-year-old dancer has hit out at televised dance competitions this week, as she recently took a swipe at ITV’s ‘Dance Dance Dance’ for lacking “flavour”.
Kristina also slammed the judges on the show – choreographer Tina Landon, dancer Timor Steffens, and Diversity creator Ashley Banjo – as she claims no-one knows “who they are”.
The blonde beauty said: “The show doesn’t have any flavour to it. It is copying someone else’s famous craft.
“Putting American judges on the team to me as well, they might be amazing choreographers but we don’t know who they are. There a lot of things they could have done better.”
Elsewhere, Kristina claimed the show – which tasks celebrities with recreating famous dances – wasn’t “exciting” and lacked the longevity of a show like ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
She said: “I watched one episode of ‘Dance Dance Dance’ and that was it. I didn’t understand it.
“You actually want to see something exciting. That’s why ‘Strictly…’ has longevity, you watch and you want your favourite one to get through to the next week.”

Dermot O'Leary wants to star in a period drama

OHMYGOSSIP — Dermot O’Leary wants to try his hand at acting.
The ‘X Factor’ host has admitted acting was his first love as a child and Dermot would relish the opportunity to star in a period drama.
He shared: “I don’t think I could ever see myself going to Hollywood to do movie roles but I wouldn’t mind giving acting a crack.
“It was my first love when I was a kid. I don’t think I could do much, I don’t have a particularly wide range.
“I’m obsessed with dramas so it would be some sort of period drama scenario.
“I know TV isn’t a big shopping list … it’s something I’d love to do but I’m well aware of my own limitations.”
Meanwhile, Dermot has also bemoaned ITV’s decision to axe ‘The Xtra Factor’, which has previously served as a career launchpad for the likes of Caroline Flack.
He told The Sun newspaper: “It’s a shame for telly, it was a great place to launch new talent.
“It’s the same when I was doing ‘Big Brother’s Little Brother ‘and T4, there aren’t that many nursery slopes any more. They go on reality shows or have YouTube profiles. I hope that’s not the future. I’m a purist I suppose. It’s not the way I like to see the world.”
But Dermot still believes ‘The X Factor’ could become one of the longest-serving British TV shows in history, rivalling Cilla Black’s ‘Blind Date’, which ran for 18 years.
Dermot, who has hosted eight series of the programme so far, said: “I’ve signed for a few years. I really enjoyed it this year. It was a lovely, warm, fun year.”

Zack Snyder: Justice League was 'fun to explore'

OHMYGOSSIP — Zack Snyder says the ‘Justice League’ characters are “fun to explore”.
The 50-year-old movie director is at the helm of the DC Comics ensemble movie – which will see superheroes Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), the Flash (Ezra Miller), Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) join forces to take down the evil Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds) – and has said he’s excited about the project as the characters are all “so fresh”.
Speaking to Empire magazine, the filmmaker said: “These guys – Aquaman, Cyborg, Flash – really are just fun to explore. They’re just so fresh. They’re on the edge of their powers at different times in this story and that’s really fun.”
The news comes after it was revealed last year that following the large amounts of negative criticism aimed at preceding film ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ – which was also helmed by Zack – studio Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Comics have decided to make the upcoming ensemble movie “hopeful and optimistic”.
DC Entertainment President Geoff Johns – who is also working as a producer on the feature – said previously: “Mistakenly in the past I think the studio has said, ‘Oh, DC films are gritty and dark and that’s what makes them different.’ That couldn’t be more wrong. It’s a hopeful and optimistic view of life. Even Batman has a glimmer of that in him. If he didn’t think he’d make tomorrow better, he’d stop.”
Meanwhile, Zack also claimed previously that harsh backlash from fans has severely impacted his approach to the hotly-anticipated movie.
He said after the release of ‘Batman v Superman’: “[The hate] did catch me off guard. I have had to, in my mind, make an adjustment. I do think that the tone of ‘Justice League’ has changed because of what the fans have said.”
‘Justice League’ is expected to hit theatres in November 2017.

Milla Jovovich says her daughter is a 'natural' actress

OHMYGOSSIP — Milla Jovovich’s nine-year-old daughter Ever is a “natural” actress.
Ever plays a younger version of Milla’s on-screen character Alice in ‘Resident Evil: The Final Chapter’ and the 41-year-old Hollywood star has hailed her daughter’s acting talents.
Milla – who shares Ever with her director husband Paul W. S. Anderson – shared: “It’s amazing because our daughter really just has a shine towards acting. She has a real passion for it. It feels like she turned seven and suddenly she’s just so mature.
“The way she speaks and the things she talks about. She said she wanted to be on a TV show and be on Disney. So we told her that she would have to take acting classes and she asked that we get her into an acting class.
“So we got her into an acting class in LA and she’s just incredible. She’s super-comfortable and natural.”
Milla said that despite her tender years, Ever – who was only seven when ‘Resident Evil: The Final Chapter’ was shot – has already “found her calling” in life.
The actress, who also has a 21-month-old daughter called Dashiel, told Channel24: “As a mom I felt relieved that my daughter really found her calling. She’s so real and so comfortable with being herself and having such a great time doing it.”
She insisted, too, that Ever enjoys acting so much she doesn’t consider it to be a job.
Milla said: “I started really young but I never had such a great time doing it when I was young. It was something my mom wanted me to do and I felt it was something my mom did really well. For me it was always work, where for her it’s not work.”

Jessica Cunningham didn't tell her boyfriend about CBB

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessica Cunningham didn’t tell her boyfriend Courtney Wood she was going in the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house – she got her agent to pass on the message to him instead.
The ‘Apprentice’ stars struck up a relationship while competing on the business show in the summer but it seems their love isn’t as perfect as it seems as she didn’t even let him know that she had agreed to go into the infamous abode two weeks ago.
He explained: “She only found out 24 hours before. It was all very last minute. She was meant to be coming to London on Friday to see me but she messaged me that morning, telling me to call her agent. She only found out on Thursday evening and I imagine she had a pretty manic night sorting out childcare and her wardrobe and everything. I think it was easier for her to do it through her agent. We had zero opportunity to talk before she went in. They must have taken her phone off her thought. I tried calling but I couldn’t get through.”
But, despite being shocked at the way he found out about his girlfriend’s plans, the 30-year-old businessman still decided to pass her on a message of luck through her agent.
He explained: “It’s fine! I passed her a message of luck through her agent. She’d been speaking to ‘Big Brother’ for a month or so about going on the show. I understand it. The money will set her kids up for life. I would never get in the way of her doing that. Her kids mean the absolute world to her. I’d never stop her from doing that. Ever.”
Jessica – who has three daughters from a previous relationship – came under fire last week after she was caught on camera flirting up a storm with her housemate Calum Best.
Courtney said: “I know how things work on TV. I came from a very edited programme in ‘The Apprentice’, so I understand that producers will try and create storylines.”

Stacy Francis evicted from Celebrity Big Brother

OHMYGOSSIP — Stacy Francis has been evicted from ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.
The 47-year-old singer – who shot to fame on the US version of ‘The X Factor’ in 2011 – became the latest housemate to be booted off the Channel 5 show on Tuesday (24.01.17), when she lost the public vote to Kim Woodburn, Jedward, Coleen Nolan, Spencer and Heidi Pratt, Nicola McLean, Jessica Cunningham and Jamie O’ Hara.
Speaking as she left Stacy told the house she was glad she was leaving so she could go home and see her “babies”.
She said: “I’m so ready to go and see my babies. I love you thanks for everything.”
The last 24 hours in the famous abode saw Stacy embroiled in a bitter row with fellow housemate Kim.
The busty brunette lashed out at the “disrespectful” cleaner, 74, for whipping out her clean clothes out of the washing machine and scattering them across the laundry room because she wanted to use the appliance.
In a lengthy rant, Stacy shouted: “You put my stuff on the floor! That’s not disrespectful? I would never do that to anybody in this house. Why would you put it on the floor? You can’t come take somebody’s s**t out of the washing machine, put it on the floor and put your stuff in and make yourself right about it. And then get mad at me if I’m around the house screaming about it, because I have a right to.”
After the frizzy-haired beauty threatened to quit the show, Kim claimed she had no idea the star’s clothes were clean and said there was nowhere else to put her washing.
But the American singer took another swipe at the TV star because she thought it was “worse” that Kim thought her laundry was dirty and therefore pulled it all out of the machine.
Stacy said: “That’s worse. If you thought it was dirty clothes why wouldn’t you be considerate it and wash it then take our turn? If it’s not clean it means somebody has been in front of you to get their things washed, so you’re being selfish.”
But Stacy’s rant didn’t sit well with Kim and she told her not to mess with her.
Kim said: “Start with me and you’ll be very sorry.”

Lauren Goodger feasts on tuna

OHMYGOSSIP — Lauren Goodger has been feasting on tins of tuna in a drastic attempt to lose weight.
The 30-year-old reality TV star – who wanted to have a big toned bottom earlier this year – is on a mission to lose another 6lbs in five weeks because she wants to be “tiny” again so has been gorging on the oily fish instead of tucking into white meat.
Writing in her column for new! magazine, she said: “I’m on a real mission to lose weight. I’ve lost 5lbs so far this month and I’m convinced it’s because I’m not drinking alcohol. My face is already a lot less bloated. Yes, I’ve been going to the gym every day but I’ve also been eating really clean. My plan is to lose another 6lbs by the end of next month. At the moment, I weigh about 10st 7lbs, but I’d love to get back down to 9st. I want to be tiny again! I’m hoping around March I will be. I’m not even bothered about having a big bum anymore. Nothing has really triggered it – I’ve just changed my mind. It’s a new challenge, but I’m not going to lie, it’s hard and I’m starving. I’m not eating big meals, I’m literally eating cans of tuna with a few carbs. Chicken is a treat.”
And it’s not just her meal plan that she’s decided to alter as the ‘Only Way is Essex’ star has also traded her high-weight training routine for some more cardio.
She explained: “I’ve also been mixing up my exercise. Instead of just doing weights and cardio machines like the treadmill, I’ve been swimming!”

Kimberley Garner hides from intruder in her wardrobe for 20 minutes

OHMYGOSSIP — Kimberley Garner hid in her wardrobe for 20 minutes when her Beverley Hills home was broken into.
The 26-year-old former ‘Made In Chelsea’ star has admitted she was scared stiff when she caught sight of a “large hooded man with his face covered” breaking into the rented accommodation on Monday (23.01.17) and could hear his every move, but she swiftly decided to seek solitude with her friend in the closet because there was “no lock” on her bedroom door and believed it was the safest place for the pair of them.
Alongside a picture of a blank white space, which was shared on her Instagram account on Tuesday (24.01.17), she wrote: “Tonight. Was just going to bed in our newly rented house. When we saw a large hooded man with his face covered at the door at midnight, with a van outside. Just me and a girlfriend were alone in the house, which was big and up in the hills in Beverley hills totally isolated. We had no lock on our bedroom door. So were very silent and climbed inside the wardrobe in the dark. We were in there for 20 minutes as we heard him try every door around the house, and listened as he broke one. Staying very still as we heard him in every room around the house. (sic).”
The blonde beauty has admitted after calling the police, the culprit was caught but released without any charge, much to Kimberley’s disappointment.
She explained: “We called the police and when they finally arrived. Caught the hooded man in the house. Not only did they not file a report. They did not take his details and just let him go. With the patronising advice of ‘better go around the house girls to check if the doors are locked’ before they left us. This man only had bad intentions, rob, rape or worse, and if we hadn’t seen him and hid to call the police I hate to think what he was going to do to us. The shocking thing was the police in Los Angeles. (sic).”

Carol McGiffin's sister dies of cancer

OHMYGOSSIP — Carol McGiffin’s sister has died of cancer.
The 56-year-old presenter – who was given the all-clear from the disease less than a year ago herself – tragically lost her sibling Tracy to breast cancer last weekend after doctors found out four months ago that her illness had spread throughout her body.
Writing in her column for Best magazine, she said: “When my little sister, Tracy, was diagnosed four months ago, it didn’t seem real. I knew she was going to die, but I kind of hoped that it would be later… like, years away. Now, when I find myself saying the words, ‘My sister died last weekend,’ it still doesn’t seem real. Perhaps because it hasn’t properly sunk in yet, or that I’m just not ready to believe it.”
Although she was heartbroken to lose her sister, Carol is content knowing she and Tracy had grown really close again in the months following her prognosis.
She explained: “We were always close as kids, but as we grew up things changed, and I’m really glad that in the end – those last four months – I got to spend some good, quality time with her. We had days out at the seaside, went out shopping, had lovely pub lunches. I felt like I was getting to know her all over again, because we hadn’t spent so much time together since the 80s when we lived and worked together in London. “We had some riotous times back them were really badly behaved, and got up to some terrible things. We had a lot of holidays too, to Spain and Greece. She wasn’t really a drinker, but I always got her drunk somehow.”

Armie Hammer in the dark about Green Lantern

OHMYGOSSIP — Armie Hammer claims he knows nothing about him being in the running to play Green Lantern in a new movie.
It has been reported that the ‘Nocturnal Animals’ star is among the favourites to play Hal Jordan and his titular alter ego in the DC Comics film ‘Green Lantern Corps’ along with Tom Cruise, Joel McHale, Bradley Cooper, Jake Gyllenhaal and Ryan Reynolds – who played the character in the 2011 movie.
Despite the speculation, Armie, 30, insists he is in the dark when it comes to the Green Lantern role.
Speaking to website The Wrap at a Sundance Film Festival event, he said: “I saw the reporting too. That’s the first I’ve heard of it.”
Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Films have scheduled the new film for a 2020 release but development is still in the early stages.
Last year, DC Entertainment President Geoff Johns revealed that the ‘Green Lantern Corps’ cast will appear in the ‘Justice League’ films.
He said: “We’ve been to the bottom of the oceans, we’ve been to ancient Greece mythology, we’ve been to the past and future Flash, into the digital world with Cyborg, we still got to go to space. So the Green Lanterns and the Green Lantern Corps will be coming to join the ‘Justice League’ universe.”
The Green Lantern Corps is an alien interstellar police force that has existed for three billion years and protects the universe with each member gaining their powers from their individual power ring, a weapon granting the use of incredible abilities determined by the wearer.

Robert Carlyle interested in a Full Monty sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Robert Carlyle wants to make a sequel to ‘The Full Monty’.
The 55-year-old actor famously took his clothes on the big screen back in 1997 when he played the role of ex-steelworker Gary ‘Gaz’ Schofield, who created a troupe of male strippers with other unemployed men living in Sheffield, England.
Carlyle has just reprised his iconic role as Francis ‘Franco’ Begbie in ‘T2 Trainspotting’, the sequel to cult classic 1996 film ‘Trainspotting’ which is set 20 years later, and returning to that part has made him think about another ‘Full Monty’ film.
Speaking on ITV show ‘Lorraine’ about the chances of a ‘Fully Monty 2’, Carlyle said: “No one wants to see me take my clothes off anymore, no, it’s not going to happen!”
But when host Lorraine Kelly disagreed, Carlyle showed signs that he could be persuaded to get on board.
He added: “It might be interesting to see where these guys are 20 years down the line and that’s one of the most interesting things for ‘T2’, is you’re seeing all these well-loved characters and seeing what’s happened in their lifetime, so maybe, who knows.”
Carlyle is not one to shy away from taking his roles seriously – he revealed he had his teeth removed to add grit to his ‘Trainspotting’ reprisal.
He explained: “I had a temporary crown on my bottom set of teeth and it had been there for a time because I needed a few months to get that replaced and healing so with filming commitments I didn’t really get time to do that – it might have been sitting there for a bit – a year-and-a-half, so I thought this is the moment to do it, let’s just take this out for Begbie, so I took that one out.”
But his dental treatment didn’t end there.
He continued: “The other tooth that had been lying beside it was weak so I thought, just take that one out as well. It gave a little bit of colour and detail … (I thought) he’s probably lost that in the prison somewhere.”
Carlyle also revealed he is still dividing his time between Canada and the UK to meet his filming commitments for his ongoing ABC show ‘Once Upon A Time’
He added: “Yeah I’m still doing ‘Once Upon A Time’. Rumpelstiltskin is my alter ego. It’s been a fantastic show for me, we are in our sixth season now. Again I didn’t think it was going to last but of course it’s still going on.”

Vogue Williams won't be asking ex Brian McFadden for The Jump advice

OHMYGOSSIP — Vogue Williams is “better at sports” then her ex-husband Brian McFadden.
The 31-year-old model and television personality is currently gearing up to take part in winter sports reality show ‘The Jump’ but won’t be asking her ex for advice after he competed on the show in 2016.
She said: “Did I ask Brian for tips? No because I’m better at sports at him so I wouldn’t get any tips off him.”
And Vogue believes the one to beat is ‘Made in Chelsea’s Spencer Matthews and is impressed with the quality of this year’s contestants.
She added: “He’s the best so far, he’s the one to beat to win. Everyone is weirdly good in this group which I wasn’t expecting because I was here last year and they just weren’t that good.
“I was really hoping for the same type of crowd but now everyone is brilliant and really competitive so it’s definitely going to be hard to win.”
However, Vogue is less than impressed with Olympic champion Sir Bradley Wiggins’ skill on the slopes.
Speaking to Breakfast Republic on 2FM, she shared: “He’s not great, the other day in snowcross, he was raging at me. The whole point is to push each other over. So I pushed him over cos he was in front of me and he was raging but it’s the name of the game.”
Meanwhile, the blonde beauty previously admitted she is in a better place now following her split from Brian in 2015.
She said: “When things ended with Brian it was hard getting my drive back. My head was all over the place but I’m in a really good place at the moment.
“I look for three things in a man, humour, kindness and honesty. It’s about honesty mainly, because I’ve had things in the past that have been perfect but then dishonesty was an issue.”

Chloe Ferry allowed to leave CBB house before eviction

OHMYGOSSIP — Chloe Ferry was allowed to temporarily leave the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house prior to her eviction last week.
The ‘Geordie Shore’ star – who was given the boot from the competition at the end of last week after failing to pull in enough public votes – has come under fire after bosses let her sneak out of the infamous abode a few days prior to her shocking exit in order to fulfil pre-arranged “commitments” with her boozy reality show.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper: “Chloe left the house for prearranged commitments. At the time of leaving she was chaperoned by a member of production and had minimal contact with the outside world.”
Although the 21-year-old boisterous beauty was chaperoned by security to limit the amount of contact with the outside world, her fellow housemates – including Stacy Francis, Coleen Nolan and Nicola McLean – felt she was given special treatment because Viacom owns Channel 5 and MTV, which screens the shocking show.
The insider explained to the publication: “They felt like she was getting special treatment just because her work is for a channel owned by the same company.”
This isn’t the first time bosses have allowed competitors to continue with their work commitments while locked inside the house as Frankie Grande – who took part in last summer’s series – raised eyebrows when he filmed his fashion segment for ‘Style Code Live’ from the abode and even rated his housemates’ fashion sense and style.
Sam Faiers was also granted permission to continue her column for OK! magazine while she was locked up within the four walls in 2014, Rylan Clark-Neal was allowed to leave the house to rehearse for ‘The X Factor’ live show in 2013 and Mario Falcone was granted approval to visit the US embassy in the summer of the same year.

Ed Balls is wanted for musical

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Balls is wanted for a musical.
The 49-year-old former politician may not have managed to worm his way into the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ final with his impressive dad dancing last year but his performing career is far from over as top stage producer Sonia Friedman has admitted she’ll snap him up in a heartbeat for a West End all-singing all-dancing production.
Speaking to the Radio Times magazine, she said: “The person I would absolutely cast in a heartbeat is Ed Balls. I was hooked on ‘Strictly…’.
“I think he was everything this country needed right now – a bit of levity, not taking yourself too seriously. He put joy back into our culture for a few weeks and he made politicians seem real to me. If I was doing the sort of show where there was something for Ed Balls to do, I wouldn’t hesitate. Because I adored his spirit.”
Sonia – whose hits include ‘Dreamgirls’, ‘Legally Blonde’, and ‘The Book of Mormon’ – enjoyed watching the former Cabinet minister and Shadow Chancellor on the ballroom and latin show so much that she even picked up her phone and voted for him to stay.
She explained: “I even voted for him, and I’ve never voted in my life before.”
But her efforts weren’t enough as Ed was given the boot from the competition in week 10 – just two weeks before the final – following his impressive ‘Gangnam Style’ routine.
Sonia may need to wait a little longer before she’ll be able to bag Ed for one of her musicals as he’s current dazzling audiences across the country on the ‘Strictly…’ tour.

Suranne Jones to crack US?

OHMYGOSSIP — Suranne Jones wants to crack the US film industry.
The 38-year-old actress has reportedly hired an agent across the pond in the hope that she’ll be able to bag some major roles in Hollywood blockbusters later this year following the success of her lead roles in ‘Doctor Foster’ and ‘Scott & Bailey’.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Suranne is one of the most sought-after talents in British telly after the great reception given to ‘Doctor Foster’, and before that ITV’s ‘Scott & Bailey’. Her management now think this is the time for he to try to crack America, having never really tried before.
“She knows that at 38 she isn’t getting any younger but everyone in her team thinks she has a really good chance of landing a big role.
“They also think having ‘Doctor Foster’ on in the US will help her cause too. It’s put her in the homes of millions of Americans overnight.”
The brunette beauty flew out to the US for meetings with top directors a few months ago and it seems the chats went well as she and her husband Laurence Akers and their baby son jetted across there yesterday (23.01.17) for some more discussions.
The idea that she may land a role in a film alongside some famous faces will no doubt come as a huge shock to Suranne as she started her career as Karen McDonald – a role she portrayed for four years until 2004 – in the popular soap ‘Coronation Street’.
It looks like Suranne has a busy year coming up as she’s currently gearing up to shoot the second installment of the highly popular drama series ‘Doctor Foster’.
She has also just landed the lead in a forthcoming series titled ‘Gone’ on Sky Atlantic.
