Naomie Harris wants to play Michelle Obama

OHMYGOSSIP — Naomie Harris wants to play Michelle Obama in a movie.
The British actress thinks there would be no “greater honour” than to portray the “inspiring” former First Lady – who is married to ex-US president Barack Obama, who left office last week – in a biopic.
She told The Sun newspaper: “I couldn’t think of anything being a greater honour or a more inspiring and wonderful story to be part of.”
Earlier this week, the 40-year-old actress was shortlisted for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her performance as a heroin-addicted mother in ‘Moonlight’ and Naomie admits the nomination meant a “great deal” to her as she hopes the exposure for the film – which received seven other nods – will attract a greater audience.
She said: “It means a great deal to be recognised and acknowledged for your work.
“It is also particularly important with a film like ‘Moonlight’, as it is such a small-budget movie.
“There’s something about this film that really moves people and changes the way people see the world and that’s the kind of movie you want people to see, especially now.”
Naomie previously admitted she couldn’t bring herself to watch the Academy Award nominations live on TV because she was so nervous.
She said: “I was at home with my mum, and I started to watch the announcement, but I couldn’t cope with the anticipation of it all. My brother called to say I had been nominated.”
Asked how she celebrated her nomination, she added: “I was just having a lovely walk. It was very grounding.”
And Naomie is amazed by how well the movie – which also stars Mahershala Ali, who too received a nod for his role in the film – has been received.
She added: “You really never know in this crazy business what’s going to resonate with people. What I did know is that I read the script, and it made me cry three or four times. I knew it was such a beautiful film, and I knew from Barry [Jenkins’] previous film, ‘Medicine for Melancholy,’ that he was an extraordinary filmmaker.
“Whether or not people responded to it the way I did, you can never know that. Everyone who signed on for it did it because it was a passion project.”

Kingsman: The Golden Circle will have a 'presidential thread'

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ will feature a “presidential thread”, according to Taron Egerton.
The 27-year-old actor has reprised the role of Gary ‘Eggsy’ Unwin, a Kingsman secret agent, for the much-anticipated new movie, and while he is reluctant to reveal too many plot details for fear of upsetting director Matthew Vaughn, he has hinted at what fans can expect.
He said: “I have to be pretty careful what I say – Matthew can say what he wants, it’s his film. I think it very much is political.
“I think I can say there’s a ‘presidential’ thread that runs through the new film. I think that, each time, whenever there’s a new global threat that arises in the world of ‘Kingsman’, it will be something that may have genuine relevance.”
Taron explained that like the first ‘Kingsman’ movie, the follow-up will also focus on a timely subject.
He told Den of Geek: “In the first one, I guess we could say it’s over population, and in this one, it’s a similarly pertinent global theme.
“But I think you’re right. It’s a warped, distorted presentation of politics, but I think the themes are definitely there.”
And Taron admitted that a third movie could follow ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’, which is due out later this year.
He said: “Matthew is a very much, ‘Don’t count the chickens before they’ve hatched’ kind of guy, but he also has a real sense of ‘Kingsman’ being his baby and he won’t jeopardise it with a crap idea.
“So it depends what occurs, and whether it feels right to him, but I don’t think for a second that either he or myself, the lovely people at Fox and whoever else is interested in ‘Kingsman’, wouldn’t completely love it if this is a continuing series.”

Corrie's Sinead Tinker is pregnant?

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Coronation Street’s Sinead Tinker is pregnant.
The blonde factory worker – portrayed by Katie McGlynn – will be thrown a curve ball over the next few weeks when she finds out she’s carrying her new fling Daniel Osbourne’s (Rob Mallard) baby following her split from Chesney Brown (Sam Aston).
An insider told Inside Soap magazine: “Sinead tries to keep her bun in the oven a secret at first, but Daniel soon stumbles across her pregnancy test. At first he thinks the baby is her ex-boyfriend Chesney’s, however Sinead assures Daniel he’s the father.”
Sinead’s friendship with Daniel has only just started to blossom on screen after he recently wooed her just as her relationship with Chesney started to crumble.
The on/off couple are now sleeping in separate beds after Chesney and his colleague Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) fed a greasy kebab to Sinead’s plant.
Chesney will no doubt be devastated when he learns that his childhood sweetheart is carrying a child by someone else but he’s not the only one fuming with the revelation.
Ken Barlow (William Roache) – who is the father of Daniel – is set to hit the roof when he discovers the news and is convinced Sinead is leading his son a stray.
The source explained to the publication: “Ken is fuming when he finds out Daniel could be a dad at only 22 years old. He thinks his son is being dragged down by Sinead, and does his best to tell Daniel to stay away.”

Ant and Dec win big at the National Television Awards

OHMYGOSSIP — Ant & Dec were crowned TV Presenters of the Year at the National Television Awards on Wednesday night (25.01.17) for the 16th consecutive year.
The Geordie duo expected to lose out to Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins from ‘The Great British Bake Off’, but admitted they get “more and more grateful” each year they win because they don’t know when their reign will end.
Ant said: “Thank you very much this is just mad. We were chatting in the car on the way here and we have won it year after year after year.
“But we said this year if we lost out to Mel and Sue, who I think were remarkable on ‘Bake Off’, then that would have been a good shout. So well done girls.”
Dec added: “Thankfully we didn’t. We are thrilled. If anything we get more and more grateful every year because we are never quite sure when this run is going to end. The fact that it hasn’t tonight, we are thoroughly grateful to everyone that voted for us.
Thank you so, so much. We really do appreciate it.”
Ant and Dec also bagged Entertainment Programme for ‘Ant & Dec’s Saturday night Takeaway’ and their show ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ won Challenge Show.
The pair said they were in “shock” to be the first award winners of the night.
Accepting their gong for Entertainment Programme for ‘Saturday Night Takeaway, Ant said: It really is our baby and, it’s a bit of a shock first award up, but what a thrill.”
Dec added: “Thank you, thank you so much, thank you to all of the talented people that stand behind us here and come up with all the ideas and all of that.
“We have so much fun doing it and are thrilled you like watching it. We’re back at the end of February for another run.”
Graham Norton was honoured with the Special Recognition prize and said he was glad to beat Ant and Dec to the award and said it felt like his funeral because he’s “so old”.
After watching a montage of tributes from the likes of Dame Helen Mirren, Dame Judi Dench, Will Smith and Dolly Parton, he said: “Thank you very much.
“I know this is a sort of NTA pity party. Because it is the only way I could get one of these over Ant and Dec.
“I feel so old and I feel like the NTAs have invited me to my own funeral.
“It turns out it was great Will Smith and my mother were there and Dolly Parton. Thank you so much to the NTAs for this.
“I don’t know quite what to say because the legions of people, who have worked on the show over the years, I thank you all.
“Thank you to all of you who watch the show.
“I glad you still enjoy it after all this time.
“It has been a long time, it has been nearly 20 years.
“To keep a show on the air for that long isn’t easy and in my case it is sort of a miracle.
“I am not the funniest or the hardest worker, but I am the luckiest, I’ve been very lucky.
“I’ve worked with amazing people over the years and I can’t thank them all because there are hundreds and hundreds.”
‘This Morning’ picked up Live Magazine and presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield dedicated their award to the show’s late agony aunt, Denise Robertson – who sadly passed away in March last year after losing her battle with pancreatic cancer at the age of 83.
Silver fox Phillip said: “We’ll start on a serious note, just to say this time last year we had Denise Robertson on stage with us.
“And we really miss her, so this is for Denise this year.”
On a funny note, the pair said they won’t be repeating last year’s antics by arriving late to work drunk tomorrow (26.01.17), but joked that they may get a cheeky tattoo.
Phillip added: “obviously we shamed ourselves last year so we’re not going to do that again this year.
“We’re going to get tattoos!”
Elsewhere, ‘EastEnders’ actress Lacey Turner was awarded for her Best Serial Drama Performance and beat ‘Emmerdale’s Danny Miller [Aaron Dingle] and Natalie J Robb [Trish McDonald] and ‘Coronation Street’s Jack P Shepherd [David Platt].
It’s the fourth time Lacey – who plays Stacey Slater in the long-running BBC One Soap – has picked up and NTA and this year she dedicated to co-star James Bye and the Fowler family.
Speaking on stage at London’s The O2, she said: “Thank you. Oh my goodness. I was so sure I was staying in my seat. Thank you so much to everyone who voted to everyone who has supported me over the last 12 years. I can’t tell you how much it means. Thank you to Scott my friends and family and all of those people over there. I feel so lucky to wake up every day and love my job. James Bye thank you, Jasmine thank you. This one is for the Fowlers.”
Other winners included Mary Berry, who was crowned best TV Judge for ‘The Great British Bake Off’ and beat off stiff competition from ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ head honcho Len Goodman, ‘X Factor’ judges Simon Cowell and Nicole Scherzinger and ‘Britain’s Got Talent’s David Walliams.
Mary said: “I love judging it has always been a great honour.
“I think I know how to bake and I love telling people that next time do a little bit better. But the greatest reward is that all of the young are baking.
“Everybody is sitting down at 8pm the whole family, gran, the baby. There is no swearing, it’s the best programme.
“I am so grateful and thank you very much.”
Other winners on the night included Sarah Lancashire, who won Best Drama Performance for ‘Happy Valley’, Factual Entertainment show went to ‘Gogglebox’, Comedy was ‘Mrs Brown’s Boys’, Daytime show went to ‘The Chase’, Period Drama was given to ‘Call The Midwife’ and Faye Brooks [Kate Connor] picked up Newcomer for her role as in ‘Coronation Street’.

EastEnders cast lifted bus in crash scene

OHMYGOSSIP — The ‘EastEnders’ cast managed to lift the bus an inch off the ground during the dramatic crash scene.
Fans of the popular long-running soap were left devastated on Monday (23.01.17) when a large chunk of the characters were mowed down by the vehicle after the driver suffered a heart attack at the wheel.
But, although viewers were quick to criticise how unrealistic the scenes were when the residents attempted to lift the bus off trapped Martin Fowler (James Alexandrou), the co-director Toby Frow has revealed it was all real.
Speaking to Digital Spy, he said: “Every time someone had to jump out of the bus or run away from it, that was a stunt. We had to think very carefully about how to keep the audience’s attention. If you do every stunt the same then you risk losing interest, so you have to figure out the different angles…
“In terms of lifting the bus, the cast really did lift it. What we initially said to them was when the bus is lifted by the crane, we need it to look like you’re lifting it so can you put your backs into at least swaying it left to right.
“So action… let’s do the first shot without the crane. And the bus did move. It came an inch off the ground. It was pretty remarkable. It was a symbol of how much commitment everyone threw into the entire thing.
“They gave everything they had for the entire shoot and threw themselves into it. It crystallised in that moment when the bus lifted. It was amazing.”
Although the storyline will have complications for a number of the characters – with some expected to die – over the next few weeks, bosses were determined to strike a message of goodwill that will stick with viewers throughout.
Toby explained: “The vision was very much about us watching people who at the start of the week are in conflict with each other. But then this terrible thing happens and they find all the things that unite them rather than divides them. It’s about being in touch with what makes you human at the end of the day.
“The fact you instinctively run towards someone in need, rather than run away. That happens again and again in the episode. People are just reacting instinctively to help people they know and that they don’t know. I guess that’s the over-arching theme of the week, the humanity.”

CBB: All Stars and New Stars special set for 2nd series

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ All Stars and New Stars is set for a second series.
The drama-filled Channel 5 programme launched its debut special earlier this month, which saw a return of a number of previous contestants battle it out to be crowned champion against new additions for the first time ever, has proved to be a hit with viewers and bosses are already planning another installment for the summer.
Although producers were keen to keep the second series under wraps for the time being, Bobby Norris accidentally let it slip when he admitted he’d had a “little meeting” with producers to appear in a follow-up show in August.
The 30-year-old television personality – who is known for starring in the popular ITVBe show ‘The Only Way is Essex’ – told The Sun Online: “I’ve watched it literally since series one day one, and I’m on [the spin-off] BOTS [‘Big Brother’s Bit on the Side’] most series to be fair and I think I’d quite fancy the challenge of doing it, because I’m such a fan of the show. I might have had a little meeting! I have had a conversation about it in the past.”
And the dark-haired reality star has admitted watching Rylan Clark-Neal’s rise to fame after coming fifth place on ‘The X Factor’ in 2012 has encouraged him to follow in his footsteps, as did Brian Belo, who won the eighth series of ‘Big Brother’.
He explained when asked if he wants to try his hand at presenting: “Rylan and Brian are both massive fans and that’s like the scary thing, to think that they’ve changed things and they’ve gone in as massive fans. Never say never.”
Aside from gaining more fans from appearing on the programme, Bobby is keen to spend the summer basking in the rays of the English summer sun in the house.
He said: “I’ve got to do the summer one as well, because you’ve got the garden and you can have a cheeky sunbathe. I can take my Marbella mermaid tail, can you imagine me just flipping around in the hot tub. Summer is the way forward. Well I’m going to try and get into the summer one.”

Spencer Matthews didn't read The Jump contract

OHMYGOSSIP — Spencer Matthews didn’t read his contract before he signed up to ‘The Jump’.
The former ‘Made in Chelsea’ heartthrob knew the winter sports show would be a dangerous gig to take on when he was approached by bosses last year but has admitted he didn’t care about what his rights were and signed the form anyway.
Speaking to heat magazine, he said when asked if he read the contract before he scribbled on his contract: “There must be one with the show, but I didn’t really read the contract, I just signed it. If you break your leg, you break your leg.
“I think you can only blame yourself – you must be doing something wrong if you hurt yourself. I love my competitive sports and I’m not particularly worried about the injury factor. If you go skiing or snowboarding with friends, there’s just as much chance of getting injured. Just because lots of people got injured last year, it shouldn’t make any difference to our competition this year.”
Last year’s show was responsible for a number of celebrities experiencing life-changing injuries as Beth Tweddle broke her back, ‘Made in Chelsea’ star Mark Francis Vandelli fractured his ankle and Rebecca Adlington dislocated her shoulder.
Despite the worrying amount of injuries sustained in the last series, bosses were given the go-ahead to do another installment this year because there were still loads of stars who were eager to sign up to the show when the idea was put forward.
Davina McCall – who hosts the programme – said recently: “It is coming back. I didn’t think we’d be able to get anybody on it but people still want to do it, which is great.”
Lydia Bright, Vogue Williams, Caprice, Jake Quickenden, Josie Gibson and Amy Willerton are among the celebrities who have agreed to take part in the forthcoming series, which will return to Channel 4 next month, alongside Spencer.

Duncan James 'loved snogging Jen Metcalfe' in Hollyoaks

OHMYGOSSIP — Duncan James “loved snogging Jennifer Metcalfe” in ‘Hollyoaks’.
The Blue singer plays police detective Ryan Knight in the Channel 4 soap and in his current storyline he cheated on his fiancée Amy Barnes (Ashley Slanina-Davies) with Jennifer’s alter ego Mercedes McQueen and has been blackmailed by Mercedes’ cousin Goldie McQueen (Chelsee Healey) for his indiscretion.
Duncan – who has been nominated for the Best Newcomer prize at the National Television Awards (NTAs) on Wednesday night (25.01.17) – readily admits getting intimate with the beautiful Jennifer, 34, wasn’t the hardest scene he’s had to shoot on the show.
Discussing his character’s antics on ‘This Morning’, Duncan said: “He is a very naughty man. You would think that he would be bit more clever with it because he is a detective, but no … I love snogging Jen Metcalfe, that’s a lot of fun!”
Duncan, 38, also spilled that his affair will be exposed by Amy who will show a video of Mercedes and Ryan kissing at his own birthday party.
Although he has proven to be a big hit on ‘Hollyoaks’ he almost had to pull out of portraying Ryan because of his severe back injury which required surgery.
He shared: “I was performing on stage in ‘Priscilla Queen of the Desert’, and was in the gym every day. My back started to protest but I didn’t listen and thought that the show must go on. I started having injections in my back to numb the pain, and then one day I woke up and couldn’t move.
“I had to have an emergency surgery to save my back. I was lucky the producers gave me time to recover, I had to walk around with a walking stick for the first few weeks.”
And Duncan admitted he hasn’t fully recovered from his operation, saying: “From my bottom on my left side hasn’t woken up yet fully, I have a lot of numbness.”

Phillip Schofield brought dead goldfish back to life

OHMYGOSSIP — Phillip Schofield once saved a goldfish’s life with a whisk.
The 54-year-old TV star found his family’s pet lying on the top of the water in its’ tank leaving his two daughters distraught.
But quick-thinking Schofield came up with a life-saving idea to bring the fish back from the dead by placing his aquatic pal in a new bowl of water which he whisked up to increase the oxygen levels.
Schofield shared the story with his co-presenter Holly Willoughby on ITV daytime show ‘This Morning’ on Wednesday (25.01.17) as they were doing a cooking segment on ‘unicorn lattes’.
He said: “I saved a goldfish once with a whisk, it was a really hot day and the oxygen in the goldfish tank had massively dropped, so the goldfish was actually floating on the top and I took it out and I put it into another bowl and I whisked the water and whooshed a whole load of oxygen into it and ‘ping’ the goldfish came back to life. I just thought, ‘It’s got to be low on oxygen, how do I get oxygen into the goldfish?’ I couldn’t give him mouth-to-mouth.”
Phillip and Holly, 35, and the rest of the ‘This Morning’ team, which includes Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, will be at the National Television Awards tonight where they will be hoping to win the prize for Best Live Magazine Show. They are up against ‘BBC Breakfast’, ‘Lorraine’, ‘Loose Women’, ‘Good Morning Britain’ and ‘The One Show’.
The ceremony is being held at The O2 arena in London and will be hosted by Dermot O’Leary.

Salma Hayek's space dreams

OHMYGOSSIP — Salma Hayek would be an astronaut if she wasn’t an actress.
The ‘From Dusk till Dawn’ star had big dreams of going into space as a young girl but thinks realistically she would be working in “some flower shop” if she hadn’t made it as an actress.
Speaking to Kevin Smith at the IMDb studio at the Sundance Film Festival, she said: “There is the job that I would love to do and then the reality of the job I would be doing. I would have loved to have been an astronaut.
“[If I wasn’t an actress] I probably would be working at some flower shop or married in Coatzacoalcos [her hometown] with 10 kids, I don’t know.”
And there is every chance Salma’s nine-year-old daughter Valentina – who she has with her husband François-Henri Pinault – could follow her into the film industry as she previously revealed her daughter gave her acting notes on the set of ‘Tale of Tales’.
She said: “She’s definitely a director and even in the silly comedies with Adam Sandler [‘Grown Ups and Grown Ups 2’], since she was very, very little, she likes to stay right to the monitor. And it’s troublesome because she likes to come over and give me notes. And I say, ‘No, you’re not allowed’. Then I think about the note and it’s like, ‘Damn – she’s right’. They’re good.”
And Salma wants to make sure her daughter gets proper schooling and so only opts for movies where she can stay with the family whilst filming or will go further afield when her daughter’s off school.
She added: “It’s very simple. I only work either in the summer or in the situations where I am never apart from her. The maximum in my whole life is two weeks. And that’s why I also only take films in Europe or around her holiday schedules … It gets complicated.”

Andrew Garfield shocked by Silence's Oscar snub

OHMYGOSSIP — Andrew Garfield is shocked ‘Silence’ was snubbed at the Oscars.
The drama film – which stars Garfield as one of two priests who travel to Japan in search of their mentor – only received one nod for Best Cinematography when the 89th Academy Award nominations were revealed on Tuesday (24.01.17) but Garfield believes the film “will last beyond” the awards season.
He said: “Silence is a masterpiece that Scorsese made. I think it’s a film that will last time beyond this awards season. Scorsese is the high priest of cinema and he’s made something that’s transcended conversations … he’s telling a story that is so deeply profound and so thought-provoking and heart-provoking, that it stays with you long after.
“Obviously, would I want his work and the actors’ work to be recognised? Yes. But I’m so proud of the film – I’m equally proud about that as ‘Hacksaw Ridge’. I know it’ll be a film people will come back to over and over again – the work it does to the audience is very deep and transformative.”
And the 33-year-old actor – who received a nomination in the Best Actor in a Leading Role category for his performance in ‘Hacksaw Ridge’ – was “overwhelmed” to work with the film’s director Mel Gibson and Martin Scorsese, who was at the helm of ‘Silence’, in such quick succession.
He added to TheWrap.com: “You can’t quite compute it – I still don’t understand it. I’m really grateful that I had those experiences back to back.
“They are filmmakers who are so confident and genius in what they do and it makes me – it makes everyone around them – better, it brings up everyone’s game. That’s all you want is to work with fantastic filmmakers to tell stories that feel urgent and important in the times you’re in.”

Susanna Reid to host new show

OHMYGOSSIP — Susanna Reid is set to front a new prime-time series.
The ‘Good Morning Britain’ presenter has been snapped up to host the forthcoming eight-part show ‘Save Money: Good Food’ alongside chef Matt Tebbutt this spring as they offer tips on how to be a logical spender without jeopardising quality or taste
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, she said: “It’s a challenge some families face daily, thinking up the week’s food menu and how to make them continually interesting while shopping within a budget. Matt is a great cook and I’m delighted to be working with him.”
And it seems like the feeling is mutual for the 43-year-old kitchen mastermind as he can’t wait to work alongside the brunette beauty and inspire a healthy new life for families.
Matt explained: “I love to inspire people to cook healthy, affordable and tasty food.
“I’m really excited to be getting creative with Susanna and helping people cook easy everyday dishes for the whole family to enjoy.”
Executive producer Elaine Hackett added: “Susanna and Matt are firm family favourites and who better to inspire people to create a menu that’s achievable price wise and tasty.”
Susanna is no doubt excited to get her teeth stuck into this project as it’ll be a world away from what she’s used to as she recently admitted that she goes home and cries every day after she presents the breakfast show with wind-up merchant Piers Morgan.
Speaking on the show today (25.01.17) Piers said: “I’m still reeling from the revelation you go home and cry after work.”
Susanna replied: “Yes, I do. It didn’t come as a surprise to many other people, but it came as a surprise to you! Piers reduces me to tears.”

Nick Knowles saved wife's life

OHMYGOSSIP — Nick Knowles saved his estranged wife’s life.
The ‘DIY SOS’ host may have split from his spouse Jessica Moor earlier this month following three years of on/off marriage but she still has nothing but praise for him because she is convinced he’s the reason she’s still alive today after he pushed her to see a doctor when she was struck down with symptoms of cervical cancer.
Explaining her initial diagnosis, Jessica told Woman magazine: “I revealed my symptoms, he seemed anxious.’You should go to the doctor,’ he said. At first I batted away his concern. Surely he was just being overprotective. After a few weeks, he was insistent I went. Perhaps it was best to get checked out – just in case.”
Jessica, 29, was later told she has stage one cervical cancer and it had spread to her pelvic lymph nodes, which meant she needed to start treatment straight away.
The blonde beauty now feels “healthy and happy” after undergoing surgery and treatment last year and feels lucky to have Nick, with whom she has two-year-old son Eddie, in her life despite no longer being in a romantic relationship with him.
She said recently: “I literally haven’t thought about dating. I’m happy to just be in a stable, calm place. I can’t imagine what it’d be like if we were at each other’s throats. He’s very attractive and I care about him lots. We are really supportive of each other.”
Nick and Jessica originally split in January 2016 following four years of marriage but grew close again after Jessica found out she had cervical cancer.
And the couple faced more drama when Nick came under fire for dumping actress Gemma Oaten while they were in bed together to get back together with Jessica.
Taking to his Twitter account after Gemma lashed out at him in a newspaper interview, he said: “Life is not about what happens to you, it’s about how you deal with it. This year we faced a miscarriage, the breakdown of our marriage and cancer without being disrespectful about each other at any point. We are saddened for each other and for the sake of our young son that this is being played out so publicly.
“The story is something that happened (in the space of less than one
week) during a turbulent, traumatic time and more to the point – whilst we were separated. It is unfortunate we are having to relive it purely so someone can financially gain from exploiting our private life.
“With everything that’s happened this year, even discussing this seems very trivial in comparison to what we have dealt with and are still dealing with. As always, our answer is united, as we are. We have enjoyed eight years as best friends and nothing will change that. (sic)”

Gorden Kaye's dementia battle

OHMYGOSSIP — Gorden Kaye battled with dementia for two years before his death.
The ‘Allo ‘Allo!’ star – who tragically passed away at a care home on Monday morning (23.01.17) at the age of 75 – was suffering from the memory disorder in the years leading up to his death.
Raymond Shuttleworth, the husband of Gorden’s cousin Sheila visited him two weeks ago and noticed his sad decline.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “He didn’t recognise us any longer. He didn’t even recognise himself. Gorden was sat up and talking but he didn’t know us any more, he was saying all sorts of things but it didn’t mean anything. He was in his own little world.
“He had amazing staff looking after him, they have been incredible. He had no brothers or sisters, just a few cousins. He never married and was a lone survivor till the end. It was just a case of surviving and he was very lonely. That is all very sad. He always appreciated his fans saying, ‘They’re my bread and butter’ and he always stopped to sign autographs in the street.””
Despite the popular TV series having wrapped back in 1992, Gorden’s co-star Sue Hodge – who played his on-screen love interest Mimi Labonq – had reportedly remained close to the actor and visited him at his care home in Ilkley, West Yorkshire regularly.
An insider added to the Daily Star newspaper: “Sue was apparently very good and would often come and visit him … Gorden hadn’t been capable of performing for a few years now but I think he’ll be remembered as one of our best comic actors.”
Gorden had suffered memory problems for some time after a plank of wood smashed into his windscreen and left him needing brain surgery in 1990.

Bianca Gascoigne has secret boyfriend

OHMYGOSSIP — Bianca Gascoigne has a secret boyfriend.
The 30-year-old glamour model – who is the daughter of footballing legend Paul ‘Gazza’ Gascoigne – has been busy getting up close and personal with Jamie O’Hara in the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house but things have now come crashing down after the footballer discovered his love interest already has a man on the outside.
In scenes that will air on Wednesday (25.01.17), Jamie – who has three sons Archie, six, Harry, five, and George, three, with his ex-wife Danielle Lloyd – declared his love for the businesswoman during a chat-show style game hosted by Coleen Nolan.
Jamie said: “At the start that [to fall in love] was not my intention. But the longer you spend time with someone and you connect with them and you have a laugh and a joke and you feel like that person gets you, it’s only natural to think oh f*** it!”
But things took a turn for the worse when the 30-year-old sportsman was shown a clip of Bianca telling her housemate Nicola McLean earlier this week about her man.
The pretty reality TV star then attempted to rectify the situation by explaining her complicated situation as she said: “It was something I needed to sort out but I had no intention of a romance in the house, but it has happened and I feel terrible for it. In here you can’t obviously have that conversation and you sit there and worry.”
Jamie then interjected: “But you did say you were single though. Because I didn’t know full extent, it makes it difficult. We got on really well and we’ve gone to the point where we’ve shown we like each other, but then that happens and its like, f**k.”
Bianca, who was in floods of tears, begged Jamie to give her another chance: “I should have filled you in, but me and you were getting better and better. I feel terrible.”
But Jamie asked her to give him some time to think things over because he was “fuming” about the situation and has already developed feelings for her.
He said: “I was fuming as I thought you were single. I actually really like you, but I don’t know what’s going on here really.”

Andrew Garfield reveals his heroes are selfless

OHMYGOSSIP — Andrew Garfield’s heroes are people who don’t seek praise for their work or actions.
The 33-year-old actor has been nominated for the Best Actor Oscar for his portrayal of pacifist soldier Desmond Doss in Mel Gibson’s World War II drama ‘Hacksaw Ridge’, but although he is pleased to get the recognition he looks up to those who are devoted to their passion or job and don’t look for praise.
Garfield’s alter ego Doss was an American army medic who refused to fire a weapon and became the first conscientious objector to win the Medal of Honor after saving 75 lives during a battle on the Japanese island of Okinawa.
Speaking to the Metro newspaper, Garfield said: “The heroes in my life are the ones who aren’t looking for any recognition. My brother is a doctor with the NHS and stays at work for three hours after everyone else. He’s devoted.”
He likened Doss’ values to those he holds himself.
He said: “I think Desmond’s core value – and a value that I try to come from in my life – is living from a place of love. Desmond had a very simple access to that pool of unconditional love and you see it in how he didn’t discriminate with anyone he was healing or saving.”
Garfield has just wrapped filming ‘Breathe’ – in which he plays a polo sufferer – based on a true story of the father of Jonathan Cavendish who is one of the film’s producers.
Speaking about having someone who is so close to the story also be so close to the action, Garfield said: “That was surreal … to have him behind the monitors while I’m courting his mother, impregnating her and creating him!”
But as with all his roles, Garfield takes his job seriously and in order to get into character of a Jesuit priest in 17th century Japan for his role in Martin Scorsese’s ‘Silence’, Garfield went on a week-long retreat in Wales and he admitted that his on-screen roles have an influence on his life.
She said: “I don’t think it’s any accident the two projects are about how to live a life in contact with some form of spirituality. I’m drawn to the things I’m exploring in my life by the things I’m drawn to in work. I don’t think there’s much separation.”
