James Cameron to oversee new Terminator

OHMYGOSSIP — James Cameron is set to oversee the next ‘Terminator’ movie.
The 62-year-old filmmaker created the franchise with Gale Anne Hurd and was at the helm for the 1984 movie and sequel ‘Terminator 2: Judgement Day’, but not involved in 2003’s ‘Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines’, 2009’s ‘Terminator Salvation’ or 2015’s ‘Terminator Genisys’, all of which did not do as well as the first installments.
However, the rights to the saga revert to him in 2019, but before that happens, ‘Deadpool’ director Tim Miller is said to be in talks with Cameron about advising on another film.
According to Deadline, ‘Terminator Genisys’ financier David Ellison is backing the new film and respected sci-fi authors are to be brought in to come up with plot ideas.
Cameron is currently busy directing multiple ‘Avatar’ sequels, but has also been offering consultation and guidance on other projects, such as Robert Rodriguez’s ‘Alita: Battle Angel’.
While the most recent installment in the series was a critical flop, Cameron previously praised it and claimed it would “reinvigorate” the entire franchise, while also taking a swipe at ‘Rise of the Machines’ and ‘Terminator Salvation’.
He said at the time: It’s very respectful of the first two films and then all of a sudden it just swerves.
“I feel like the franchise has been reinvigorated. This is a renaissance.”
“I think of the new film as the third film”
And he also praised Emilia Clarke for her portrayal of Sarah Connor.
He said: “For women, I think she represents a kind of empowerment, yet there’s a vulnerability there.”

Matt Edmondson lands new presenting gig

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Edmondson has already landed a new presenting gig.
The 31-year-old radio DJ was left devastated last week when he was told he had lost his job as host of ‘The Xtra Factor’ alongside his co-star Rylan Clark-Neal because the sister show of ‘The X Factor’ was axed to make room for more online content.
But it hasn’t taken the funnyman long to bag his next project as he’s been approached by producers at ITV2 to front a new panel show called ‘JudgeMENTAL’.
A source said: “Matt is clearly liked and impressed during his time on the ‘Xtra Factor’s last series. Bosses have high hopes for this new panel show and think it will be a hit.”
The forthcoming series will see two celebrity teams – the stars are not yet known – go head-to-head as they guess what people do for a living purely by looking at them.
And it’s not just Matt who has already been snapped up for another show as Roman Kemp – who worked as the ‘The X Factor’s digital presenter – has also held discussions with bosses about presenting a programme on the same channel.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, he said: “It’s nice to know that ITV2 trust me to host a show on my own or with someone else. It’s exciting.”
Matt joined ‘The Xtra Factor’ alongside Rylan last year and the pair admitted at the time of their signing that they were planning to do all they could to get “sacked.”
Upon hearing the news of the axe, Matt said: “I wanted to write a quick something about my time on ‘Xtra Factor’, and the news it’s not coming back this year…
“I had an absolute blast working on the show – it’s honestly the most fun I’ve ever had at work, and it’s thanks to the best production team in the world. ‘Xtra’ had been on the decline for a few years, but we pulled out all the stops to make a show I am massively proud of.
“The feedback was amazing, and as a fan of ‘The X Factor’, it was a joy to be involved in some small way. I loved working with Rylan and Roman, and I’ve no doubt we’ll get to do something fun together in the future.
“There aren’t many shows on telly that are live and silly but I’m so glad I got to sink my teeth into this one. Thanks to Louis, Sharon, Nicole, Dermot and Simon for such a fun year, and thanks to ITV for taking a chance on the oddest looking presenting combination of all time… I feel very lucky to have done my dream job.”

Tom Parker slams moaning The Jump celebs

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Parker thinks celebrities who sign up to ‘The Jump’ should expect to be injured.
The 28-year-old singer came second in the winter sports show last year but was riddled with anxiety when he saw his fellow competitors – including Beth Tweddle, Rebecca Adlington and Tina Hobley – break bones, dislocate joints and pull muscles.
But, although it terrified him, he doesn’t think anyone has the right to complain because everyone was briefed on how dangerous the slopes were before they agreed to the show.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, he said: “I understand after seeing Beth, when you see something like that it makes you more aware of the risks and dangers.
“I watched that happen and I was like ‘f*** me’ – it put the frighteners on me. You’re chucking yourself down a 30ft jump. You know what you’re signing yourself up for.”
Despite the worrying amount of injuries sustained in the last series, bosses were given the go-ahead to do another installment this year because there were still loads of celebrities who were eager to sign up to the show when the idea was put forward.
Davina McCall – who hosts the programme – said recently: “It is coming back. I didn’t think we’d be able to get anybody on it but people still want to do it, which is great.”
Lydia Bright, Spencer Matthews, Vogue Williams, Caprice, Jake Quickenden, Josie Gibson and Amy Willerton are among the celebrities who have agreed to take part in the forthcoming series, which will return to Channel 4 next month.

Michelle Keegan's ex-boyfriend asked to do Love Island

OHMYGOSSIP — Michelle Keegan’s ex-boyfriend has been asked to do ‘Love Island’ this year.
The 29-year-old actress’ former flame Brad Howard – who she dated from 2008 until 2010 – has been approached by bosses of the popular reality TV show to take part in the forthcoming series when it returns to television screens in the summer.
However, according to The Sun newspaper, it’s not yet known if he’s accepted an offer or whether the former ‘Coronation Street’ star will attempt to put him off the deal.
The brunette beauty may now be happily married to television presenter Mark Wright, who she wed in 2015, but she’s always had kind things to say about Brad.
Speaking while they were dating, she said: “Brad is very supportive of my career. If I have a long day filming, he won’t moan if he doesn’t see me.
“Whenever male fans come up to me in the street, he always takes a step back. I think the only time he gets annoyed is when we’re having a romantic meal in a restaurant and people come over. But he understands it’s part of the job.
“Brad does have a really kind and thoughtful side to him. He looks after my sausage dog Phoebe when I’m working and he surprised me with a trip to Las Vegas as a Christmas present and recently took me away to a spa in Bath for a few days.”
‘Love Island’, which is shot in a villa abroad, will return to ITV2 over the summer months and bosses are no doubt hoping to find people that will replicate the success of last year’s show which saw Nathan Massey and Cara de la Hoyde win.
A representative told the Mirror Online: “Applications for the next series are still open and no decisions have been made on cast.”

Danielle Lloyd will report sexual assault

OHMYGOSSIP — Danielle Lloyd is planning to report her sexual assault to the police this week.
The 33-year-old model recently revealed she was preyed on by a ski instructor during a school trip to Austria at the age of just 13 and now she’s keen to meet with officers and make an official statement in a bid to encourage other victims to speak out.
A spokesperson for the brunette beauty told The Sun newspaper: “The topic of Danielle’s school ski trip and what happened there came out whilst she was filming the ‘In Therapy’ programme. Before that point she had never discussed the incident with anybody else – she has since told her Mum and fiancé Michael. Danielle will be reporting the incident to the police and her former school this week.”
Danielle – who attended St Hilda’s Secondary School in Liverpool – opened up about the horrific ordeal during a therapy session on the TV show ‘In Therapy’.
The former Miss England and Miss Great Britain claimed she went into the toilet in a restaurant during their school trip and the instructor – who she described as young, tall and local – followed her into the cubicle and sexually assaulted her.
She said: “He dragged me into one of the cubicles. I can still feel his hands on me. I can remember him grabbing me, the smell, the colours, I don’t think it will ever leave me. It was just so horrible, even talking about it now really upsets me.
“He got me into the cubicle and shut the door. He touched me. I kicked and screamed and I fought him off me. I’ve never been so scared.
“I managed to get the cubicle door open and I ran, crying myself to sleep in the dorm. I dread to think what else he’d have done if I hadn’t fought him off.”
Danielle has sons Archie, six, Harry, five, and George, three, with her ex-husband Jamie O’Hara, who she split from in 2014 following allegations he cheated on her.

Whoopi Goldberg wants to star in Doctor Who

OHMYGOSSIP — Whoopi Goldberg is desperate to land a role in ‘Doctor Who’.
The Oscar-winning star is a huge fan of the sci-fi series and has implored BBC bosses to cast her on the show, revealing it’s something she would “love”.
Whoopi explained: “I always hope when I come to England the BBC will say, ‘Hey we want you to do something.’ I would love that.”
The 61-year-old star admitted there is something distinctly different about British television and she is eager to experience it for herself.
Whoopi told The Sun newspaper: “You have a different quality now on television.
“The way you guys have always done shows has always been the smartest and we’ve finally just figured it out.
“I like the idea of doing things the way y’all do them, you do some really fun stuff like ‘Black Mirror’ or, you know, I’m still dying to do ‘Doctor Who’.
“‘Ab Fab’ women, they are spectacularly funny women, so you know I have all these dreams.”
Despite her eagerness, Whoopi said she is still patiently waiting for the call from a British TV company.
She shared: “Maybe Channel 4 or BBC 1, 2 and 3, who knows? Maybe somebody will say, ‘Hey stick around kid’.”
Meanwhile, Whoopi – who has been the moderator of the daytime TV talk show ‘The View’ since 2007 – also revealed she has become more appreciative of her own success as she has aged.
She explained: “I’m up for having as good a time as I can in my life because I appreciate it. I appreciate it in ways I never realised I did.”

Channel 4 to launch new survival show

OHMYGOSSIP — Channel 4 are set to launch a new survival show based on a plane crash.
The show, named ‘Escape’, will be presented by ex-Special Forces and ‘SAS: Who Dares Wins’ star Ant Middleton, and will see a “small team of engineers” fight for survival using only the resources found in the debris of a staged plane crash.
An advert looking for contestants reads: “Dropped in a remote and undisclosed location, a small team of engineers will have only their imagination, resourcefulness and what they can find from the debris of a crash to create a vehicle to escape from the scene.
“With a finite amount of food and water they must work fast to create a vehicle that will help them escape.”
Show bosses are reportedly hoping the new show will combine elements of hit US television drama ‘Lost’ – which followed the lives of a group of plane crash survivors – with Channel 4 game show ‘Scrapheap Challenge’, which pits teams of builders against each other to build machines from unwanted junk.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “People really like survival programmes and watching how people can come together against the odds.
“This latest idea is a twist on ‘Lost’ and ‘Scrapheap Challenge’ and it’s hoped it will appeal to a wide audience.”
It is unknown as of yet when Channel 4 intends to produce the programme, or when it can be expected to hit screens.

David Ayer: I want a 'time machine' to change Suicide Squad

OHMYGOSSIP — David Ayer wishes he had a “time machine” to make changes to ‘Suicide Squad’.
The 49-year-old director received mixed reviews for his work on the 2016 ensemble movie which banded together some of DC Comics’ most terrifying villains, and has now said he wishes he had the chance to “engineer a more grounded story” for popular super villain The Joker (played by Jared Leto).
Posting a note on Twitter, David said: “Wish I had a time machine.
“I’d make Joker the main villain and engineer a more grounded story. I have to take the good and bad and learn from it. I love making movies and I love DC [Comics].
“I’m a high school dropout and used to paint houses for a living. I’m lucky to have the job I have. I have to give the characters the stories and plots they deserve. Real talk.”
The news comes after many fans were left disappointed when the Clown Prince of Crime was notably missing for large portions of the summer blockbuster.
Jared, 45, previously admitted that he had shot a great deal of footage that David – as well as the project’s producers – decided not to use.
He said: “I understand [this ‘Suicide Squad’ film] is a bit of an introduction to The Joker. It’s more of a supporting part than it could have been, had they used everything – but there’s a method to [the filmmakers’] madness.”
Meanwhile, David said he found it “tough” to work on the movie, as he had to cut out some “amazing scenes”.
He said at the time of the film’s release: “One of the toughest things about writing, shooting, and directing a film, is you end up with these orphans and you f***ing love them and you think they’d be amazing scenes and do these amazing things but the film is a dictatorship, not a democracy, and just because something’s cool and charismatic doesn’t mean it gets to survive in the final cut. The flow of the movie is the highest master.”

Joe Thomas and Hannah Tointon engaged?

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe Thomas and Hannah Tointon are reportedly engaged.
The couple – who played lovers Simon and Tara on comedy series ‘The Inbetweeners’ – are said to have decided to tie the knot after seven years together, UniLad.com reports.
Meanwhile, Joe previously admitted he is “always trying to impress” his girlfriend.
He confessed: “I always try to impress my girlfriend Hannah by any means I can and I’m very protective about her. I think I am romantic. I’ve tended to have some serious, long-time monogamous relationships.
“Well they’ve been monogamous – I’m such a romantic. I’d only ever have sex with one girlfriend at a time … I’ve never had cojones to be a player, and I don’t know any men who do. Some imply these lots of girls, and never see them again after one night, but I don’t know that’s actually true.”
And Joe, 33, also believes a sense of humour is really important in any relationship.
He added: “A sense of humour is pretty much favorite quality in any person. There’s lot of embarrassment involved in a relationship and, if you’ve got a chance of humour, you can sit around those bits.
“It becomes a way of making somebody feel comfortable. You have to accept. If you are a man, you’re bit of a fool, and a sense of humour is a way of taking responsibility for your own awkwardness and patheticness.”

Gavin Rossdale: 'I didn't know much about The Voice'

OHMYGOSSIP — Gavin Rossdale didn’t know much about ‘The Voice’ before joining the show.
The Bush frontman is a mentor on the UK version of the programme and although his ex-wife Gwen Stefani was a judge on the US show, he admitted his knowledge of ‘The Voice’ was lacking.
He told Fabulous magazine: “I used to watch the bits of Gwen [on the US version] and then fast-forward. I helped mentor Gwen’s team [in 2014] and didn’t realise how emotionally invested you get with the contestants. That’s what made my decision, along with the obvious exposure and opportunities that would come with it.
“I’m grateful for my rebirth and, for most people, my introduction. I’m a realist and know that I’ve been reduced to three sentences: being in America, ex-husband of Gwen and seen with his kids a lot.”
However, it didn’t take Gavin long to adapt and he is confident about the quality of his contestants.
He said: “I’m really competitive and like a challenge. I have [found] a superstar and five other people who are all really close.”
And he has bonded with his fellow judges, including will.i.am, Jennifer Hudson and especially Sir Tom Jones.
He said: “I’ve bonded with Tom so much. It feels very paternal, and he respects the fact that I’m a professional.”

Dannii Minogue sick of Sharon Osbourne feud

OHMYGOSSIP — Dannii Minogue says her feud with Sharon Osbourne is completely “one-sided”.
The former ‘X Factor’ co-judges have clashed many times over the years but Dannii insists she wants nothing more to do with Sharon.
She told the Sunday Mirror’s Notebook magazine: “I honestly don’t think about Sharon. I heard she was making comments about me again, and it’s a one-sided argument that I’m not involved in. She’s just not a part of my life.”
Dannii has now returned to UK TV screens on ‘Let It Shine’ and she is a big fan of her “easy on the eye” co-stars Gary Barlow and Martin Kemp.
She said: “Gary is very easy on the eye. Everyone says he’s got better with age. You should see the girls in the audience staring at him with puppy-dog eyes. It’s that dreaminess. He is lovely, it’s hard to concentrate. Same with Martin Kemp, he’s still really gorgeous. Last night, he walked in and gave me a big hug and kiss, and I was like, ‘This is my job!’ I’m hating it, as you can tell.”
Dannii also admitted that becoming a mother six years ago to son Ethan has changed her attitude to her career.
She explained: “I’ve got that lioness thing where I want to protect him, so the jobs are important because I want to look after him. But everything has to be timed to the schedules of being a parent. I mostly do things that don’t involve me being in a different hemisphere, so I can work from my office and do the school run every day. And when I am away I’ll be lying in bed jet-lagged reading mum blogs about the 12 best lunchbox items, thinking, ‘Must do that when I get back.'”

Downton Abbey cast hopeful about movie

OHMYGOSSIP — The ‘Downton Abbey’ cast are hopeful that a movie of the beloved TV series will be made.
Phyllis Logan, who played Mrs Hughes in the long-running drama, insisted she didn’t take any props from the set when the show finished because she is sure she will need them again for a big-screen adaptation.
She told You magazine: “People ask me if I was tempted to take a wig or that big bunch of keys I carried, but that would be theft, because these things aren’t my property.
“Besides, if there’s a ‘Downton’ movie, which I hope will happen, all the props and costumes will be needed.
“It’s like herding cats! We’re all so busy and in different countries, but it would be such fun to get together again. The camaraderie on set was extraordinary.”
Recently, Jim Carter – who portrayed Mr Carson in the show – revealed that the cast have been asked to clear their diaries to shoot a film of the hit period drama later this year.
He said: “We’ve been asked to keep ourselves available for dates in the future. But nobody has seen a script.”
Joanne Froggatt – who portrayed Anna Smith in the period drama for five years – set tongues wagging last year when she revealed that Julian Fellowes had penned the script for the forthcoming blockbuster.
She said at the time: “We’ve all heard that the script has been written.
“There’s a hard copy somewhere but none of us have seen it or know what’s in it.
“So we’ll all keep our fingers crossed that it all comes together. We’re all willing it to happen. I’d absolutely jump at the chance to star in it if I’m asked. I’ll squeeze it in.”
Viewers were thrown into mourning in 2015 when ‘Downton…’ came to a dramatic end following five years on screen but creator Julian has always shared his burning desire to turn the drama into a film.
He said: “Let’s just say it’s not me slowing things down. The difficulty is rounding up the actors. One is in America making a new series, another is in a play … My lips are sealed! It’s very unlikely there won’t be a film because there is an audience out there for it. I do hope there is going to be a ‘Downton Abbey’ film. It’s going to be fun once everything is sorted but we just need to restructure it.”

Taron Egerton won't wear tights

OHMYGOSSIP — Taron Egerton will quit ‘Robin Hood’ if he has to wear tights.
The 27-year-old actor wants his version of the heroic outlaw – who he will portray in a 2018 origins story – to have a “rock ‘n’ roll” edge and won’t be donning the tight-fitting green garments traditionally associated with the character.
He said: “The moment someone presents me with a pair of tights, I’m calling it quits.
“It’s going to have a rock ‘n’ roll quality to it.
“I’m not sure that anybody has completely nailed Robin Hood yet. I’m quietly hoping this is the one that’s going to get it right – and it’s going to do it without any tights.”
Tarin – who admits his Robin is “highly flawed and not even that likeable” – was hesitant to even look at the script for the movie as he wasn’t sure whether there was a “need” for a new take on the tale.
He admitted to Total Film magazine: “When I was first sent the script I was hesitant to even engage with it.
“I think there’s a very large question mark over whether the world needs another ‘Robin Hood’.
“But it’s completely revisionist. Very dark and very character-driven.
“It’s fairly unrecognisable as a period film.”
The ‘Kingsman’ actor stars alongside Jamie Foxx as Little John in the movie, and promised their friendship makes the film worth watching.
He teased: “The dynamic between those characters in this is really interesting.
“And I can’t imagine anyone better in the role. It’s all pretty exciting at the moment.”

Nick Knowles' wife still has feelings for him

OHMYGOSSIP — Nick Knowles’ wife still has feelings for him.
The ‘DIY SOS’ host and Jessica Moor, who have two-year-old son Eddie together, split up for good in December after a turbulent on/off year but Jessica, 29, admitted she still finds him attractive.
She told the Sunday People: “I literally haven’t thought about dating.
“I’m happy to just be in a stable, calm place. I can’t imagine what it’d be like if we were at each other’s throats. He’s very attractive and I care about him lots.
“We are really supportive of each other.”
Nick and Jessica originally split in January 2016 following four years of marriage but grew close again after they turned to each other when Jessica found out she had cervical cancer, which she has now beaten.
And the couple faced more drama when Nick, 54, came under fire for reportedly dumping former ‘Emmerdale’ star Gemma Oaten while they were in bed together to get back together with Jessica.
Taking to his Twitter account after Gemma lashed out at him in a newspaper interview, he said: “Life is not about what happens to you, it’s about how you deal with it. This year we faced a miscarriage, the breakdown of our marriage and cancer without being disrespectful about each other at any point. We are saddened for each other and for the sake of our young son that this is being played out so publicly.
“The story is something that happened (in the space of less than one week) during a turbulent, traumatic time and more to the point – whilst we were separated. It is unfortunate we are having to relive it purely so someone can financially gain from exploiting our private life.
“With everything that’s happened this year, even discussing this seems very trivial in comparison to what we have dealt with and are still dealing with. As always, our answer is united, as we are. We have enjoyed eight years as best friends and nothing will change that. (sic)”

Lego Batman has secret references

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Lego Batman Movie’ features a number of hidden references to the DC Comics universe.
Director Chris McKay has promised the upcoming family film – which features Will Arnett in the title role – will make superhero fans happy because he tried to incorporate as many characters from the comic books, original animated series and previous Batman movies into his saga as he possibly could.
And for some that he couldn’t get the rights to, or were deemed too scary for family viewing, he found other ways to get in a mention.
He said: “I just kept going until someone eventually said, ‘We can only make this many or we can only get the rights to this many or we can’t do this character because it will scare children.’
“If we didn’t get a character, there’s something in the signage of Gotham city, or a reference in a newspaper headline… There are little Easter eggs, some very overt.
“It’s definitely a deep dive if you love movies, love comics and love Batman.”
And the filmmaker also found ways to reference his other favourite movies outside of the Batman universe.
He added to SciFiNow magazine: “That’s what’s fun about a ‘Lego’ movie, especially a ‘Lego Batman’ movie.
“Just by having those characters say lines you’d have in a Michael Bay movie, they become ridiculous coming out of a toy’s mouth.
“We literally took lines from a Michael Bay movie and put them in Lego characters’ mouths, and it’s funny to watch them act like they’re in a big Cuban Missile Crisis.”

Joe Manganiello excited to take on Deathstroke role

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe Manganiello has vowed to make fans proud of his performance in the forthcoming Batman film.
The 40-year-old actor will play nefarious super soldier Deathstroke in Ben Affleck’s stand-alone movie and Joe is thrilled at getting the chance to take on a comic book character.
Speaking about the reaction to his casting, he told Entertainment Tonight: “I’m glad everybody’s happy. I’m just gonna put my head down and just really show up as prepared as any supervillain ever has.
“Growing up an avid comic book fan, and then there were a lot of superhero roles, and supervillain roles, that came my way that I said no to, or wasn’t allowed to do, because of other commitments. It’s just really exciting to think that this is the one.”
Deathstroke was created by Marv Wolfman and George Perez and first appeared in DC Comic ‘The New Teen Titans’ #2 in 1980.
The character has a grudge against Green Arrow but his original enemy was the Teen Titans.
He has also gone up against Batman on several occasions in DC Comics following their first duel in 1991’s ‘City of Assassins’ story, in which Deathstroke badly beat up the Dark Knight.
Slade/Deathstroke has also appeared on The CW’s TV series ‘Arrow’, and creator Marc Guggenheim recently revealed the character was involved in “another DC project”.
When asked why the villain hadn’t returned to ‘Arrow’, he wrote on tumblr: “The character of Slade Wilson is currently tied up in another DC project. Walter is more likely.”
