Les and Janice Battersby could soon return to Coronation Street

OHMYGOSSIP — Georgia Taylor has teased that Les and Janice Battersby could return to ‘Coronation Street’.
The 36-year-old actress has reprised her role as Toyah Battersby on ITV soap after 13 years away from the cobbles and she has hinted that she might not be the last of the Battersby clan to make a return to screens as Bruce Jones (Les) and Vicky Entwistle (Janice) may follow her.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘This Morning’, Georgia said: “I don’t know, not at the moment, we are just focusing on the relationship of the sisters and what’s going to happen with them but we’ll wait and see…”
Bruce and Vicky first joined the soap back in 1997 when their alter egos arrived as a new family on the street alongside stroppy teenager Leanne [Jane Danson], who rejoined the cast in 2004.
In 2015 a petition was launched to bring Bruce’s Status Quo-loving character back to ‘Coronation Street’ after the storyline meant he left to work as a roadie in 2007.
And rumours of a return were sparked last year when he was spotted by eagle-eyed soap fans taking a stroll along the sea front in Blackpool, close to where the soap was on location filming new scenes, however, it transpired that he just happened to be in the same area for his panto stint.
Meanwhile, the soap saw Janice say goodbye to Weatherfield to go travelling the world in 2011 with her boyfriend Trevor Dean.
The Battersbys have a history of making life difficult for many neighbours including Curly Watts, Martin Platt, Ken Barlow, stepdaughter Toyah’s boyfriend Spider Nugent and Percy Sugden, who was so scared of Les he moved to a retirement complex.
Speaking about working on the new ‘Coronation Street’ set at Media City, Manchester, she said: “I actually think it’s really nice because it feels like a fresh start in a lot of ways and having the new studio really helps with that and I don’t know if going back to the old studio might have felt a bit strange.
“Obviously there are a lot of familiar faces like Jane Danson [Leanne Battersby] she was such a big pull for me and one of the reasons I’m going back.”
Georgia’s character has made waves once again since her Christmas Day arrival – it was revealed she is having an affair with Leanne’s ex-husband Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne).

Ethan Hawke to star in Stockholm opposite Noomi Rapace

OHMYGOSSIP — Ethan Hawke has signed up to ‘Stockholm’ thriller.
The 46-year-old actor has been cast in the new bank heist movie, written-and-directed by Born To Be Blue’s’ Robert Budreau, which is partly inspired by Daniel Lang’s 1974 New Yorker article ‘The Bank Drama’.
The story is centred on how a group of robbers took hostages at a Stockholm bank, only for those under threat to bond with their captors and go against the authorities.
Speaking about the casting, Jonathan Kier said: “With Robert’s creative direction coupled with Ethan and Noomi’s tremendous talents, we are certain audiences around the globe will be captivated by this thrilling true story. ‘Stockholm’ will offer moviegoers a raw glimpse into intense events that transpired over four decades ago coining a psychological condition that still intrigues the world today,”
The casting will see Hawke and Budreau reunite for the first time since they worked together on 2015 drama ‘Born To Be Blue’ in which Hawke starred as jazz legend Chet Baker.
It is not yet known who Hawke or Rapace will play in the film but Sierra/ Affinity hope to sell the rights at the European Film Market held in Berlin next month.
Scott Aversano and Will Russell-Shapiro will executive produce and oversee the thriller for Aversano Films along with Jason Blum via Blumhouse Productions.
Nicholas Tabarrok will produce under Darius Films, with Budreau via Lumanity and Jonathan Bronfman through JoBro Productions.
William Santor, John Hills and Andrew Chang-Sang are also executive producing for financier Productivity Media.
Shooting is due to begin in April.

Rylan Clark-Neal says game show Babushka will be the new Deal or No Deal

OHMYGOSSIP — Rylan Clark-Neal says his new game show ‘Babushka’ is going to be the new ‘Deal or No Deal’.
The 28-year-old television presenter is to front the programme for ITV which will use traditional Russian dolls – also known as matryoshka dolls, wooden toys that contain smaller dolls inside – to determine the prizes.
Rylan says the premise is very similar to Noel Edmonds’ Channel 4 series which saw people open up boxes to reveal cash prizes and he is convinced ‘Babushka’ is going to be just as popular.
Speaking during his showbiz segment on ‘This Morning’ on Monday (30.01.17), he said: “It sounds crazy but it is so good. The reason I fell in love with it is the same reason all those years ago that everyone fell in love with ‘Deal or No Deal’, it’s all down to the [other] contestants to win the money. It is so good. It’s brilliant and it is coming soon!”
‘Babushka’ has been commissioned for 20 episodes and the contestants will be in a chance of winning big cash prizes if a smaller doll is found within a bigger one. However, if the doll is empty, they will lose all of the money they have accumulated so far.
It is the latest TV project for Rylan who as well as being part of the ‘This Morning’ family also hosts ‘Big Brother’s Bit on the Side’ and late night chat show ‘Up Late with Rylan’ on Channel 5.
But he now has his weekends free again as ‘X Factor’ sister show ‘The Xtra Factor’ – which he co-hosted with Matt Edmondson last year – has been axed from TV screens by ITV to move online.

Rachel Weisz ready to take on risky roles

OHMYGOSSIP — Rachel Weisz wants to “take more risks” in her career.
The 46-year-old British star – whose husband is Daniel Craig – has decided to stretch herself on screen after three decades in the film business and a host of acclaimed roles, including a Best Supporting Actress Oscar-winning performance in ‘The Constant Gardener’.
In an interview with the Metro newspaper, she spilled: “I don’t really feel that risky. I feel I have got to be more risky. I’ve decided now I intend to take more risks.”
Weisz’s latest film is ‘Denial’ in which she plays Holocaust scholar Deborah Lipstadt and which is based on Lipstadt’s book ‘History on Trial: My Day in Court with a Holocaust Denier’ which is about the Irving v Penguin Books Ltd case when she was sued by Holocaust denier David Irving for libel.
Weisz stars alongside Tom Wilkinson, Andrew Scott, Alex Jennings and Timothy Spall – who plays Irving – and she has nothing but praise for Spall’s portrayal of the Nazi sympathiser.
She said: “It’s miraculous how Spall played the character. At times I felt a bit sorry for David Irving and I’m meant to hate him. Timothy played him like a real person. Tim’s one of the best people to sit next to in a trailer at five in the morning. He’s audacious, wild, shocking and deeply funny. He’s wonderful – very sprightly and quick on his toes.”

Millie Bobby Brown 'excited' to be starring in Godzilla: King of the Monsters

OHMYGOSSIP — Millie Bobby Brown is very “excited” for her debut film role in ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’.
The 12-year-old actress – famous for her role as ‘Eleven’ in Netflix series ‘Stranger Things’ – has been cast in the creature feature sequel and cannot wait to get started on her first movie.
In an interview with ET Online, Millie said: “It’s my first movie. I’m really excited and that’s really all I can say, but it’s going to be great! I just had a really incredible connection with the director [Michael Dougherty]. I had a great meeting with him and you know, I just really love him.”
Millie attended the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday (29.01.17) with her ‘Stranger Things’ cast mates where they landed the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series prize.
However, Millie missed out on an individual accolade for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series as Claire Foy picked up the gong at the ceremony held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
Despite being part of an acclaimed programme, Millie admits she is still getting used to fame.
Speaking about her rise in popularity since the show hit Netflix last summer, she said: “I have no idea, like seriously. I’m just boring old Millie and they like me somehow! It is incredible.”
Her casting comes after the film was thrown into chaos after original director Gareth Edwards – who helmed the 2014 film, the 30th ‘Godzilla’ movie made – dropped out of the project.
Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary quickly secured the services of ‘Krampus’ helmer Dougherty – who is also writing the script with Zach Shields – and made allowances for the delay caused by Edwards’ departure by shifting the release date to March 22, 2019.
A ‘Godzilla vs King Kong’ movie is also being made and is scheduled for release on May 29, 2020.

Mel and Sue to present The Nightly Show

OHMYGOSSIP — Mel and Sue have landed a new presenting gig on ‘The Nightly Show’.
The former ‘Great British Bake Off’ hosts – whose full names are Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins – have been announced for ITV’s new weeknight show, which will feature different presenters over eight weeks, joining the likes of David Walliams, John Bishop, Davina McCall and Gordon Ramsey.
ITV’s comedy boss, Peter Davey said: “We’re really excited to be launching this bold new show.”
The series, which has been described as a mix between ‘Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway’ and James Corden’s ‘Late Late Show’, is due to air next month at 10pm every week day and will shift ‘News at 10’ to 10.30pm.
The entertainment programme will reportedly be recorded “live” at 6.00pm each day.
According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, if the show does well in the first 40 episodes with ratings it could be extended by bosses.
It was previously reported that Mel and Sue were to present a new show like ‘Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway’.
A source said: “Mel and Sue are firm favourites on the BBC, and while Mel is currently on Gary Barlow’s ‘Let It Shine’, bosses are more than eager to get them back as a duo.”
Since leaving the BBC’s ‘GBBO’, Mel joined BBC’s talent show ‘Let It Shine’ and in October it was announced that they would both host ‘Let’s Sing and Dance for Comic Relief’.
Meanwhile, Sue recently reveled she made the decision to quit ‘GBBO’ “in a heartbeat” when she was told it was moving to Channel 4.
The 47-year-old presenter – who has co-hosted the culinary contest since its inception alongside her comedy partner Mel – admitted she and her friend didn’t need much time to consider their future on the show and are confident they have made the “right decision”.
She previously said: “We made the decision that felt right for us, and it was made in a heartbeat, really.
“For us the show was best at its original home and we made no secret of the fact that that’s where we wanted it to stay, and whilst I respect that it’s moved on, it was easy… well I say easy, of course it’s very sad to say goodbye to something you love, but it’s definitely the right decision for us.”

Danny Dyer might quit EastEnders

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Dyer may quit ‘EastEnders’ when his contract runs out in October.
The 39-year-old actor is only bound to the long-running soap for another nine months and, although bosses are expecting him to continue portraying his loveable alter-ego Mick Carter for the foreseeable future, he’s thrown a spanner in the works as he’s hinted that he may walk away from the programme rather than sign another year.
Speaking to The Sun on Sunday newspaper, Danny – who is believed to be on a contract worth an estimated £400,000 a year – said: “We’ll have to see then [October].”
Danny first joined the show in 2013 when his character rocked up in the Queen Victoria pub with his bolshie family – Linda (Kellie Bright), Tina (Luisa Bradshaw-White) and Aunt Babe (Annette Badland) to name a few – in tow but would like to try theatre.
He explained: “Four years is a long time. It’s been really rewarding but there’s other stuff out there. I’d love to show other sides to me, I loved theatre and all that.”
However, bosses aren’t prepared to let him go without a fight as bosses indicated last year that they were planning to hand him a lucrative deal to continue on the show.
A source said at the time: “Danny is so popular it’s a no-brainer. He’s very much in the plan for the show going forwards and he’s said himself how much he enjoys it.
“It’s been a great casting so far and everyone wants it to continue – especially the fans. The formal negotiations will be starting soon with the hope to confirm it early next year.”

The Jump's battle of the bulge

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Jump’s male contestants are planning to stuff socks down their ski suits to give the illusion they have a bigger bulge when the show kicks off this weekend.
Sir Bradley Wiggins, Gareth Thomas, Spencer Matthews, Louis Smith, Robbie Fowler, Mark Dolan and Jason Robinson are concerned they’ll be put up against one another for the size of their manhood when they slip into their latex ensembles this week so have all agreed to enhance their packages by shoving material down their trousers.
Vogue Williams – who is also competing on the winter sports show – told the Daily Star newspaper with a shy giggle: “To be honest, I’m glad I’m not a boy. The boys are going to have to do some stuffing down there to make sure they have the biggest package. I can understand that. If I see a guy in cycling gear or something like that then I can’t help but look down. I feel like such a perv but I can’t help it.”
But the competition doesn’t just stop at their private parts as former professional road and track racing cyclist Bradley is determined to do all he can to secure the crown.
He explained: “Once we get up there under the floodlights and racing against someone, you’ve got to start focusing. I think we’re racing each other, aren’t we?”
And one person who is falling behind is comedian Mark as he isn’t used to competing.
He added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: “My only solution, given I’m unqualified to be in a sporting arena, is to try to do everything these competitive people do. So I’m following Bradley’s moves. I get up at the same time as him. I’ve worked out what he has for breakfast. I’m channeling Wiggins.”

Stephanie Davis names baby boy Caben-Albi

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephanie Davis has named her baby son Caben-Albi George.
The 23-year-old actress welcomed her little bundle of joy into the world on January 13 following a pregnancy plagued with hospital dashes, a war of words with her ex-boyfriend Jeremy McConnell and acute morning sickness, but she now feels content with her beautiful boy and has picked out the perfect moniker for him.
Speaking to OK! magazine, she explained: “It actually came to me a few months ago when I was in Tenerife with my mum. It’s not actually a name I’d heard before but it popped into my head and it stuck there. I wanted to give him an unusual name but I also wanted him to be called Albi after my granddad, so I decided to combine the tow. Caben-Albi is his name but I’ve mainly just been calling him Caben. I felt dead nervous going in to register his name with my mum and a few friends, though!”
The brunette beauty spent three days in hospital before she eventually gave birth and, although doctors were unsure whether she’d need to have an emergency caesarean section, she managed to get by on an epidural and filmed the whole thing.
She added to the publication: “I really wanted to document it so I could watch it back whenever I wanted. I’ve already watched it a few times. Giving birth was the best thing I’ve ever done, If I could do it all over again today I would!”
Stephanie and her new addition were then forced to spend another four days under the watchful eye of doctors because Caben developed an infected scratch on his head.
She said: “We were in there for another four days because Caben had to be taken to a special care unit. When he was born we noticed a scratch on his head, which had become red and swollen, so the midwife called the doctor to check him out. The doctor was worried he might have an infection, so they put a cannula in his arm to give him some antibiotics. Over the next two days his infection levels were still high, so they had to admit him to the neonatal unit to keep a closer eye on him. We’re still not sure how he got the scratch, but he’s fine now, thankfully.”

Lego Batman Movie director Chris McKay wants to make a DC Comics film

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris McKay wants to make a live action DC Comics movie after creating ‘The Lego Batman Movie’.
The American film and television director helmed the animated film, co-produced by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, and now the project is in cinemas he has started thinking about what he could with The Caped Crusader or other superheroes in the DC Extended Universe.
On Sunday night (29.01.17), McKay was told by a fan on Twitter [@Mighty_Icon] that they’d love to see him do a DC Extended Universe movie in the future, to which he replied: “It’s a long shot but I’d like to be a part of it somehow. Thank you, btw. (sic)”
But the encouragement didn’t stop there – @Mighty_Icon tweeted in support of making it happen by putting his case forward to DC Films co-head Geoff Johns. He tweeted: “Can we start an online Tweet petition to Geoff Johns & Co? Will that help build your case?”
To which Mckay revealed that he planned to press ahead with it himself.
He replied online: “Thanks! That’s nice @Mighty_Icon but I’m going to go in and see those guys and pitch myself and go from there … but thank you! (sic)
It is not yet known what kind of film McKay could be in the running to direct, but ‘The Flash’ script is currently being rewritten and is in need of a director.
‘The Lego Batman Movie’ – a 3D animation – sees Will Arnett reprise his role as Batman from ‘The Lego Movie’ and also stars Zach Galifianakis as The Joker, Michael Cera as Robin, Rosario Dawson as Batgirl, Ralph Fiennes as Alfred Pennyworth, Mariah Carey as Mayor McCaskill and Jenny Slate as Harley Quinn.

Jamie O'Hara admits to loving Bianca Gascoigne

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie O’Hara loves “everything” about Bianca Gascoigne.
The 30-year-old soccer player and the curvaceous model, 30, shared a passionate kiss while in bed together during Sunday night’s (29.01.17) episode of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ and Jamie has admitted to falling head-over-heels for Bianca, who has a boyfriend outside the house.
He told her: “Love is a strong word but I love everything about you, I could definitely fall in love with you, one million percent.”
Bianca also confessed she has “completely fallen” for Jamie, saying: “We care for each other, we just connect.”
This comes shortly after Bianca said she won’t have sex on television.
The ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ star admitted she would really like to strike up a romance with someone inside the house, but insisted she wouldn’t get frisky on camera.
She explained before entering the house: “I wouldn’t rule it [finding love] out. I’ve been single for the past three months. I’m an extremely affectionate person, so I’ll be having lots of cuddles, but I would never get more intimate than that. You won’t see me having sex on TV.”
The model also revealed she made a concerted effort to get herself in shape to appear on the show.
She shared: “I wanted to get in great shape for ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ and fit into an old pair of jeans with a 26-inch waist. I looked at a picture of myself before and felt sick. I was so out of shape.
“I’ve had body dysmorphia all my adult life. No matter how good I look, there is always a problem in my head. I’m always looking for faults in my body. But I’m in the best shape of my life and as happy as I’m ever going to be with my weight and body shape.”

Dev Patel had to 'prove himself' to Lion bosses

OHMYGOSSIP — Dev Patel had to “really prove himself” to get the job in ‘Lion’.
The 26-year-old actor admits he had to work hard to shake off his ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ past as film bosses were looking for someone “fresh and new and hungry” for the role.
He said: “There were a lot of reservations about me being the guy from Slumdog. They’re like, ‘We’ve seen that. We need someone fresh and new and hungry,’ and they just wanted someone that could really transform for the role … I had to go in and really prove myself and fight against this preconceived notion that everyone had in the room, which made me want it even more really.”
And Dev admits the script left him in tears when he first read it as it was “written so poetically and viscerally”.
He added to E! News: “It really changed my life in a really big way. I know it sounds really cliche, but the script – you read the first 30 pages and you’re following this tiny boy in this suffocating city alone and he doesn’t say much, but the way it’s written so poetically and viscerally – I was in tears. It’s just one of those journeys that never really come around.”
Meanwhile, Dev previously admitted he felt he “became a man” during the process of making the movie.
He shared: “After the audition, [Davis] said ‘If we decide to go with you. I really want you to change.’ He said he wanted to see a Dev Patel that no one has ever seen before. I become a man, really.”
And Dev told his agent to clear his schedule so he could be fully committed to the project.
He explained: “I called my manager straight after I walked out of the audition and told him that if I get it, don’t send me anything for the next eight months. Don’t distract me with any other work or audition.”

Women are still underrepresented in Oscar nominations, report shows

OHMYGOSSIP — Women still hugely underrepresented in Oscar nominations, according to a new study.
The report, conducted by the Women’s Media Center, found that just 20 percent of the non-acting categories featured women, falling two percentage points from the nominations in 2016.
Julie Burton, president of the Women’s Media Center, said in a statement: “We have a saying: ‘If you can see it, you can be it,’ but in the crucial behind-the-scenes non-acting roles, our investigation shows that what you see is 80 percent of all nominees are men.
“Four out of five nominees are men – meaning male voices and perspectives are largely responsible for what we see on screen.”
On a more positive note, the report revealed that nine women were nominated as producers in the Best Picture category, which is the largest nominations count in any category at this year’s Academy Awards.
But Julie said more must be done to ensure the voices of women are heard more frequently in Hollywood.
She said: “The perspectives, experiences, and voices of more than half the population deserve an equal seat at the table.”
This comes shortly after Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman recently revealed she was paid three times less than Ashton Kutcher when she starred alongside him in the romantic-comedy movie ‘No Strings Attached’.
She said: “Ashton Kutcher was paid three times as much as me on ‘No Strings Attached’.
“I knew and I went along with it because there’s this thing with ‘quotes’ in Hollywood.”
Natalie subsequently explained that the quotes represent a career-high payday for the film star.
She said: “His was three times higher than mine so they said he should get three times more.
“I wasn’t as p***ed as I should have been. I mean, we get paid a lot, so it’s hard to complain, but the disparity is crazy.”

Fences triumphs at SAGs

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Fences’ stars Denzel Washington and Viola Davis triumphed at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards on Sunday (29.01.17).
The 62-year-old actor was amazed to scoop his first-ever SAG, the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role accolade, as he had expected one of his younger fellow nominees, Casey Affleck, Andrew Garfield, Ryan Gosling or Viggo Mortensen, to take home the prize.
Accepting the prize at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, he said: “Thank you very much.
“You know, I am a God-fearing man. I’m supposed to have faith, but I didn’t have faith. God bless you all, all the other actors. I’d say, ‘You know, young boys are going to win, you ain’t going to win.’ So I didn’t even prepare. But I am prepared!”
In her speech, Viola – who picked up the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role award – praised playwright August Wilson, who wrote the play the movie was based on, for helping to tell a tale of an ordinary black family just leading their lives.
She said: “What August did so beautifully is he honoured the average man, who happened to be a man of colour.
“And sometimes we don’t have to shake the world and move the world and create anything that is going to be in the history book.
“The fact that we breathed and lived a life and was a god to our children, just that, means that we have a story and it deserves to be told.
“We deserve to be in the canon of any — in the center of any narrative that’s written out there. And that’s what August did. He elevated my father, my mother, my uncles who had eighth and fifth grade educations, and he just encapsulated them in history.”
Following her recent success at the Golden Globe Awards, ‘La La Land’ star Emma Stone picked up the SAG for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role and was so surprised, she forgot her speech.
She said: “Thank you so much for this. Wow, to be an actor, playing an actor and receiving an actor by a guild of actors, it’s pretty exceptional. Thank you
“OK. I forgot everything that I ever have thought in my life.”
But the 28-year-old actress quickly recovered and thanked her fellow nominees and her co-star Ryan Gosling.
She said: “The women in this category, really quickly.
“Meryl Streep, Natalie Portman, Emily Blunt, Amy Adams. You are the greatest and your talent and intelligence are mind-blowing.
“Ryan, you are the best. That’s just the truth. Nobody can argue that.”

Bobby Davro splits from partner

OHMYGOSSIP — Bobby Davro and partner Vicky Wright have split up.
The pair – who were together for eight years and called themselves The Schluffs – have ended their relationship, with Bobby and Vicky appearing to confirm the news in sad Twitter post.
Earlier this month, Vicky took to Twitter to write: “2008-2017, The Schluffs RIP (sic).”
And more recently, ‘EastEnders’ star Bobby tweeted: “On the negative I miss my Schluff On the positive I’m staying in most nights and writing material for my new set and doing new impressions (sic).”
Two years ago, Bobby revealed he had moved back in with his ex-wife, in order to see his daughters, a move which annoyed Vicky.
He said: “I have myself, my ex, my partner and my three daughters but I care for them all deeply.
“I am happy but, yes, my personal situation can be tough at times.
“Vicky does get annoyed about it.

Roman Polanski defended by pal

OHMYGOSSIP — French actor Alain Delon has defended his friend Roman Polanski over the César Awards controversy.
The 83-year-old film director was set to give the opening speech at the César Awards on February 24 in Paris after being named president of the 2017 awards, the equivalent of the French Oscars, but pulled out after protests.
A women’s rights group threatened to boycott the ceremony because of his statutory rape admission nearly 40 years ago, a charge he is still wanted by authorities in the US for and Alain insisted he would not accept the role of president if he was offered it because of his loyalty to his friend.
He told Le Figaro: “If they asked me to preside over the Césars, I wouldn’t do it in solidarity with Roman Polanski. Every time he crosses the street, are we going to talk to him about 1970?
“I’m not going. And if I’m putting my foot in it, so be it.”
Polanski’s lawyer Herve Temime told France 24 in a statement: “The controversy … deeply saddened Roman Polanski and affected his family. However, in order not to disturb the Cesars ceremonies, which should focus on the cinema and not on the appointment of the (event’s) president, Roman Polanski has decided not accept the invitation … and will not preside over the next Cesars ceremonies.”
On 11 March 1977, Polanksi – who is best known for his movies ‘The Pianist’, ‘Chinatown’ and ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ – was arrested at Jack Nicholson’s home after being accused by 13-year-old model Samantha Gailey or raping her.
He later pleaded guilty to unlawful sex with a minor but managed to strike a plea deal which allowed him to serve 42 days in detention while undergoing psychiatric tests.
He then fled to France in 1978 after he thought a judge was going to drop the deal and hit him with a hefty prison sentence, and he has remained in Europe ever sense.
He has also lived in his native Poland and the American authorities have spent many years trying to extradite him from the European nation.
Last month, Polanski defeated an attempt by the US to extradite him from Poland, and afterwards he said: “I’ll finally be able to feel safe in my own country.”
