John Lithgow joins Pitch Perfect 3

OHMYGOSSIP — John Lithgow will star in ‘Pitch Perfect 3’.
The ‘Crown’ actor – who has an extensive background in musical theatre – has signed up to appear in the third installment of the popular musical comedy, Variety reports.
Plot details for the latest saga involving a cappella group Barden Bellas is being kept under wraps, so it hasn’t been revealed what role John, 71, will play in the movie.
Trish Sie is directing the film from a script written by Kay Cannon, assisted by Mike White and Dana Fox and some of the cast revealed last month they had begun filming.
Rebel Wilson – who plays Fat Amy in the movie – shared a photo on Instagram with her co-stars Anna Kendrick and Brittany Snow and captioned the image: “#PP3 #Bellas Day One Pitches x (sic).”
And 31-year-old Anna, who plays the role of Beca Mitchell in the production, also shared the same photograph on her social media page.
She wrote: “Team. (sic).”
And Brittany – who plays Chloe Beale in the franchise – recently teased the third instalment of ‘Pitch Perfect’ is “just around the corner”.
Alongside an image of the blonde beauty with a few of the other Bellas including Elizabeth Banks, she wrote: “#PP3 is just around the Corner (sic).”
And it is believed Ruby Rose is also set to feature in the film, which will be released in December this year.
However, Skyler Astin – who played Anna’s on screen boyfriend and lead singer of a cappella group The Trebles, Jesse Swanson – has revealed he and the rest of the all-male vocal group won’t feature in ‘Pitch Perfect 3’, despite appearing in both ‘Pitch Perfect’ and ‘Pitch Perfect 2’.
He previously tweeted: “Yes. As of now, the Trebles and I won’t be in the third Pitch Perfect movie. They seem to be taking the story in a different direction (sic).”

Star Wars legend Billy Dee Williams advised Donald Glover on playing Lando

OHMYGOSSIP — Billy Dee Williams is certain Donald Glover will be great as his ‘Star Wars’ character Lando Calrissian because he’s a “very talented young man” with his “own ideas” about the role.
Glover has been cast as a young Lando in the Han Solo anthology movie and will appear alongside Alden Ehrenreich, who will portray Han at the beginning of his days as an intergalactic smuggler.
Williams played Cloud City chief Lando in the two original trilogy movies ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ and ‘The Return of the Jedi’ and at the request of Glover her went for lunch with him to discuss the character and he was impressed by his plans for the character and the questions he asked.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Williams said: “He’s a very delightful young man, I must say. We had a very nice lunch and we talked for a very long time and it was very easy.
“I guess he was doing what normal actors do. They just want to find out what direction they want to take so they gather their information. So, we just sat and talked, and I didn’t want to impose on anything he wanted to do – he’s got his own ideas, I would imagine. I know he has his own ideas. He’s a very talented young man … Donald is eclectic, I think that’s really important particularly for the character of Lando. He is particularly eclectic in the way he approaches his art. When I talked to him I really got the sense of him being a worldly person.”
Although Williams, 79, is pleased that Lando is being brought back in a film he admits it will be strange for him to see somebody else bring his alter ego to life on the big screen, because it’s the role he is most famous for.
The ‘Batman’ actor said: “To me, I guess what it is that I identify so much with Lando. I mean, Lando has been very much a part of my life for over 30 years. When I go out and do conventions and stuff like that, even though people know me from all the other things that I’ve done, certainly [Lando] takes precedence. I just never thought of anybody else being Lando. I just see myself as Lando.”
Following his casting, Glover admitted it is a “big deal” for him to be playing Lando because an action figure of the hero was the “first toy” he ever got.
The 33-year-old star – who also releases music under the moniker Childish Gambino – said: “Lando’s a big deal. He’s the first toy I ever got … It’s interesting, when you have something iconic and people pay attention to it, it’s hard. You want to live up to the expectation, but you can only live up to your own.”
The as-yet untitled Han Solo film will be directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller and also stars ‘Game of Thrones’ actress Emilia Clarke and Woody Harrelson who is to play a mentor to Ehrenreich’s Solo – who was originally played by Harrison Ford in four films.

Vogue Williams reveals Jump injury will cause three-month lay-off

OHMYGOSSIP — Vogue Williams will be out of action for three months after rupturing her knee during training for ‘The Jump’.
The 31-year-old model was poised to compete on the Channel 4 programme before she suffered an injury in training and Vogue has now revealed the full extent of her problem, admitting she’s “devastated” she’s been forced to withdraw after damaging her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).
She wrote in her Hello! magazine blog: “It was just such a pity and I’m devastated to say that I’m now out of the show.
“I’ve ruptured my ACL in my knee so I’m going to be out of action for about three months.
“I was practising my ski cross and had a fall but luckily the medic was there and I got back down the mountain super fast.”
Vogue said she was especially upset because she was relishing the challenge and had made numerous good friends while filming.
She said: “I’m so upset. It was literally the best four weeks I’ve ever had.
“I’m so disappointed. I’ve made really good friends.”
Following her injury, Vogue was replaced on ‘The Jump’ by model Amy Willerton, who successfully made it through the first show last night (05.02.17).
Instead, former ‘Big Brother’ star Josie Gibson became the first celebrity contestant to leave the show after she refused to take the first jump down a slope.
As a result, Josie didn’t even get a proper send-off from host Davina McCall, who ended the episode with Josie still stranded at the top of the jump.

Simon Cowell spooked by clowns during Britain's Got Talent auditions

OHMYGOSSIP — Simon Cowell has reportedly been spooked by a group of clowns during auditions for ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
The 57-year-old entertainment mogul – who has admitted having a fear of clowns in the past – has been screening talent for his popular ITV talent competition, and was reportedly left “horrified” when a troupe of the comic entertainers turned up to the auditions.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “These were not funny clowns, they were sinister. People in the audience were shook up, but not as much as Simon.
“He looked horrified when one female clown touched his face. He later admitted a phobia of clowns.”
And it isn’t the first time the ‘X Factor’ judge has been spooked by the circus performers either, as he previously claimed he was inadvertently behind the 2016 ‘Killer clown’ craze which saw people dress up in terrifying masks.
He said at the time: “I think I started it – the whole killer clown thing. I had a phobia of clowns and on ‘America’s Got Talent’ this year a clown came on and I freaked out.
“Then we ended the show, we didn’t know they were doing it and I get in my Rolls Royce and then the driver is a creepy clown.
“So I’m responsible. I’m scared – I didn’t like them when I was a kid. They’re creepy.”
And the terrifying clown sighting isn’t the only thing Simon – who has two-year-old son Eric with his partner Lauren Silverman – has had to deal with at the ‘BGT’ auditions, as he recently had to rush to the aid of a young man who collapsed on stage.
An audience member said: “His grandad died that day and combined with the stress of auditions, it really got to him.
“It was incredibly scary. Luke was singing with his mum and suddenly he just fell.
“All of the judges jumped to their feet, and Simon rushed on stage. Luke’s mum was cradling him in her arms.
“They were the last act of the night and Simon thanked the audience for being compassionate.”

Marcia Gay Harden banned from being 'sexual' about Fifty Shades Darker

OHMYGOSSIP — Marcia Gay Harden says she isn’t allowed to be “overtly sexual” whilst promoting ‘Fifty Shades Darker’.
The 57-year-old actress stars as the mother of the S&M loving hunk Christian Grey in the upcoming second instalment of the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ film franchise, and has said despite the movie’s often raunchy nature, the cast have been banned from talking about the sex scenes by their bosses at Universal.
She said: “We can’t talk too much about nipple clamps.
“It is a love story after all — I don’t think they want us being too overtly sexual in interviews.”
And the Oscar-winning actress says she’s had a hard time keeping her lips sealed about the steamy scenes, and has found herself in trouble with the movie’s bosses for things she’s put out on Twitter.
She added to The Sun newspaper: “I used to send out some naughty little tweets, along the lines of this ‘sweater clasp’ and I was told by Universal that I couldn’t do it any more, but I’ll tell you one anyway.
“I’m a good girl, I fell in line. Because it’s supposed to be more about the ‘romance’.
“Maybe I went too far … I don’t know.
“I sent out a picture of a sex toy and I was like, ‘Dear Christian, thank you so much for that lovely bracelet under the Christmas tree. Perhaps it wasn’t meant for me. Oh well, so pretty.’
“And all the fans would write back, ‘No that wasn’t for you Mama Grey, oh no.’ That was a lot of fun but it was shut down.”
Meanwhile, leading stars Jamie Dornan – who plays businessman Christian Grey – and Dakota Johnson who stars as Anastasia Steele, have admitted they became “great friends” on the set of the movie which made filming their scenes together “more comfortable”.
Jamie said recently: “I was only cast five weeks before we started filming the first movie, and that’s when I met Dakota for the first time. [Now] it’s been three years, [and] Dakota and I are very close.
“We’ve got a great sort of love and respect for each other. We’re great friends and I think that makes it easier, you know? So it’s definitely more comfortable.”

Ruby Rose wants to work with Meryl Streep

OHMYGOSSIP — Ruby Rose is desperate to work with Meryl Streep.
The 30-year-old star feels “lucky” because she’s already managed to achieve so many of her professional ambitions, but Ruby has admitted she remains eager to work with the Oscar-winning actress.
She shared: “I’ve been really lucky that I’ve worked with all my heroes throughout these films that I may never need to work again. But … until Meryl. Meryl Streep.”
Ruby also opened up about her role in Taylor Swift’s so-called squad, in which she appears alongside the likes of Martha Hunt and Karlie Kloss.
She told the ‘TODAY’ show: “I always laugh at people [acting] like it’s an accolade.
“It’s like, they don’t want to talk about, like, ‘You won a SAG award,’ or, ‘You did ‘Orange’. Like, ‘You made it. You’re friends with Taylor Swift.'”
Meanwhile, Ruby recently admitted she feels “very blessed” to be in tune with her sexuality.
The Australian actress – who is in a relationship with singer Jess Origliasso – feels “empowered and strong” to be able to be open about her “healthy sex life” because she knows other people are unable to be due to cultural differences.
She explained: “I’m very confident and in tune with my sexuality. I feel very blessed for that, because in different places around the world, people can’t be. I’m lucky I can explore.
“I have a very healthy sex life, and there’s something very empowering, strong, and feminist about being open and comfortable in that world.”
What’s more, the ‘xXx: Return of Xander Cage’ star said the idea of getting married is more important because of the equal rights example it sets, rather than the institution itself.
She said: “For me, marriage is more about equal rights than the act of getting married.
“When you don’t have equal rights, it trickles down to kids who think, ‘My aunt’s gay so she can’t get married, or I’m weird because I feel the same way.'”

Ken Barlow to be killed off in Coronation Street?

OHMYGOSSIP — Ken Barlow could be killed off in ‘Coronation Street’.
Bill Roache – who plays the womanising character – has been on the show since its first episode in 1960 but he could be set for the chop as a new storyline is set to leave Ken’s life “hanging by a thread” when he suffers a second stroke.
A source told the Sun on Sunday: “Ken had only just recovered from the terrible stroke he suffered in October, so this latest attack hits him twice as hard.
“He is rushed to hospital and his life is very much hanging in the balance.
“Obviously for someone who was so recently ill, the chances of him coming out of it alive – let alone unscathed – are drastically reduced.
“That isn’t lost on any of Weatherfield’s residents – who are all in uproar after the news of his sudden predicament becomes known.
“They are all discussing how he could possibly survive a second stroke in six months.
“And as he is a very much loved character, the bosses are expecting viewers to be gripped as well.
“Ken has been through a lot in his time on Corrie, but the big question is whether or not he can survive something as serious as this.”
Bill previously admitted that the first stroke storyline left him worried for his job.
He explained: “It made me feel paranoid about my job. The first thing I said (when I was told about the stroke storyline) was: “Do I get better?'”

Christina Ricci swapping acting for producing and directing

OHMYGOSSIP — Christina Ricci says she doesn’t “have the right temperament to be an older actress”.
The 36-year-old actress would like to focus more on directing and producing as she gets older as she hates being told what to do.
She told The Observer Magazine: “I find that I don’t have the right temperament to be an older actress. I’m not very good at being told what to do and how to behave. I used to think that was just because I was young and now I think, it’s just who I am.
“I’ve been around some great film-makers and I was smart enough to pay attention. I’ve also been around some really bad film-makers, and was interested in figuring out why they’re so bad. Like any child: if you make people forget you’re there then they’ll say things that you would never hear otherwise. So I think I have a lot to contribute; the stories I would like to tell are not stories that have been told a million times.”
Christina started her career as a child star and loved playing Wednesday Addams in ‘The Addams Family’ movies because she loved the dry wit of her character.
She said: “I was a lazy child, one of those kids who hated being told to smile. I would think, eurggh, go away. So I loved playing that part. We were a very dry, sarcastic family so I was well disposed to it.”

Ryan Reynolds jokes he was 'neutered' after shooting Life

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Reynolds has joked he was left “neutered” after filming ‘Life’.
The 40-year-old actor – who has daughters, James, two, and four-month-old Inez with wife Blake Lively – stars with Jake Gyllenhaal and Rebecca Ferguson as the crew of the International Space Station (ISS) in the sci-fi thriller and they spent three months in constrictive harnesses being pulled around on wires by members of the crew to replicate being in zero gravity and learning to appear as if they were floating by movement coaches.
Ryan quipped of the experience: “You think, ‘This is going to be a cinch.’
“And then they jam this harness on you that pulls your testicles in your throat. I sneezed and I am actually now neutered.”
But Jake understood why the preparations took so long.
He told Empire magazine: “It takes a while to get into that space, to access your feelings.
“There are 40 people pulling us all around from above. The physical part is a huge element of it.”
Ryan recently claimed having two children has given him a “functioning family”.
He said: “They look alike. You can see that she’s sort of a little mini version of our older girl.
“But, no, it’s great. It’s like an actually cohesive, working, functioning family. It’s amazing to see my older daughter taking care of my younger one. ‘The Lion King’ was right! The circle of life exists.”
It isn’t the first time the ‘Green Lantern’ actor has gushed over James’ ability to take care of their youngest daughter as he previously described the sight as “profound”.
Ryan said: “It was kind of profound. I just love watching my older daughter take care of the newborn. That’s been kind of neat to see.”

The note read: “Dear Simon [Cowell] and BGT. Thanks for all the phone calls and invitation to your TV talent show.
“Sorry if my first answer wasn’t clear enough but I don’t want to be in this competition. I write and sing songs for other reasons I can’t even put into words. No need to phone me back as now everyone has seen this so I could never come on the show without looking daft. Yours sincerely, Tom ‘Mouse’ Smith.”

Tom Hiddleston's humbling whale experience

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Hiddleston was “humbled” by humpback whales he got to see whilst shooting ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ in Australia.
The 35-year-old actor insists the “power of the natural world” is far greater than anything that makes humans feel they have “supremacy” over other creatures, and had his own wake up call during his daily runs when he was Down Under reprising his role as Loki.
He said: “We like to think we’re at the pinnacle of human history and our technological advances are evolving our supremacy over all the other animals of the Earth. But we still need to be humbled by the power of the natural world.
“I was in Australia doing ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ and I had a house in Queensland and I could run along the beach and I saw humpback whales.
“Every time I saw them I felt smaller, that out there were these enormous intelligent creatures. We all feel this profound need for that.”
Tom has been busy shooting ‘Kong: Skull Island’ in Vietnam, Hawaii and Australia and felt incredibly lucky to be a part of the ensemble blockbuster.
He told SFX magazine: “There was this palpable sense among every member of the cast that to be in a ‘Kong’ film was such a privilege and to be in these locations.
“Because there’s something very timeless about the myth of ‘Kong’ and the idea of mankind going into undiscovered countries, going into the jungle and being humbled by the power of nature as represented by ‘Kong’.
“Jordan [Vogt-Roberts, director] chose three exquisite locations on the planet where nature is at its most beautiful and terrifying.
“These were places of natural beauty and also danger. We just felt so lucky to be there.”

Charlotte Crosby 'all over' Stephen Bear at London gig

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlotte Crosby and Stephen Bear were all over each other in London last week.
The pair attended MTV’s Brand New gig at the Electric Ballroom in Camden Town, London and kissed and cuddled each other in front of onlookers.
A source told The Sun: “Charlotte was all over Bear and he was absolutely loving it.
“They were inseparable. They spent a long time kissing in the middle of the crowd and had their arms wrapped around each other.
“At one point Stephen cheekily grabbed her bum, too. The concert was open to the public but they didn’t care who was watching.”
The pair have been linked since December but Charlotte recently insisted they are simply friends and co-stars on MTV show ‘Just Tattoo of Us’.
She said: “We’re just very good friends. Just good friends. We spent a lot of time together, but that was just filming 16 hours a day for ‘Just Tattoo of Us’.
“When we were filming, we were constantly play-fighting with each other, or doing something to wind each other up.”
The romance comes as a surprise as it was believed that initially the pair did not get on while filming the show.
An insider previously said: “Charlotte and Bear have not been seeing eye to eye on their new show. Charlotte finds Bear annoying and unprofessional. She doesn’t think he has earned his fame.
“A lot of people think she is finding it difficult to share the limelight with him after hosting a TV series on her own in the past.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Coleen Nolan wants to save her marriage.
Although the ‘Loose Women’ star’s husband Ray Fensome did not show up to the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ final to see her crowned the winner, Coleen is hopeful that the pair can fix their damaged marriage.
Speaking on ‘Big Brother’s Bit On The Side’, she said having a trial separation while she was in the ‘CBB’ house had made her see how much she loved her husband.
She explained: “It’s made me realise how much I do need him in my life.
“Because when things did happen in the house that were hard and were sad, all my housemates were brilliant, but I just thought if he was here he would know exactly how I was feeling.”
Coleen also spoke about her marriage woes during her time in the house, telling her fellow contestants: “I do think I’m having a midlife crisis, I don’t think it’s all him.
“I’m questioning everything – am I happy? I’m not putting all the blame on him. It’s just really sad.”
And Coleen’s son Shane Jr. – her child with Shane Richie – recently admitted that he was worried that his mother’s marriage to Ray may not survive.
He said: “It’s never nice seeing a parent cry, especially my mum. She’s like my best friend, it’s heartbreaking. Robson Green gave up drinking for good looks

OHMYGOSSIP — Robson Green gave up drinking because he wanted to look good on TV.
The ‘Grantchester’ actor rarely indulges in alcohol anymore because he is conscious of the damaging effects it could have on his body and appearance.
He said: “I don’t drink any more but I’ll have a sip of champagne now and then.
“I was brought up in a drinking culture but I’m conscious of how it makes me look on camera – I’ve never wanted a drinker’s face.”
And the 52-year-old star pushes himself in the gym on a regular basis as he is finding it increasingly difficult to stay in shape now he’s getting older.
He told Woman magazine: “I work out five times a week. I’m 53 this year and It’s a lot harder to stay in shape. I also try to eat healthy and now have cold showers – it gets my circulation going.”

He said: “Growing up I didn’t admire celebrities – my biggest inspiration were my parents. My father was a hard-working man. He didn’t have a choice – he had to go down the mines. He and my mother worked hard to ensure we didn’t go without. I’ve always tried to work hard out of respect to them.
“Fame has made me more economically stable but it hasn’t changed me.
