Channel 4 scraps award-winning drama after just one series

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Gathering’ has been axed after just one series.
The six-parter Merseyside-based show – which sees the truth of a violent attack on a teenager at an illegal beach rave emerge – will not be back for another outing because Channel 4 has decided to “prioritise” other things.
Executive producer Simon Heath told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “The series performed very well for Channel 4, but there are new people in charge and new priorities, meaning ‘The Gathering’ won’t be coming back.”
The thriller series, which came from the producers of the hit BBC crime drama ‘Line of Duty’, saw ‘Ten Pound Poms’ star Warren Brown, 46, win the Golden Nymph Award for Best Actor at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival in June 2024 for his performance as Paul.
Eva Morgan – who made her on-screen debut in the thriller – played Paul’s gymnast daughter and scoped Best Actress, and the show itself claimed Best Series.
Paul previously told HeyUGuys: “It was great, from, obviously the first point of any job is the script and I thought it was fantastic. This world, the characters, it was something that you just wanted to keep reading it and to get the job and to know that I was starting was brilliant.”
The news comes amid a string of recent axes by the broadcaster after the network was forced to cut hundreds of jobs across the UK, as well as on programming.
It has been reported that 200 jobs were slashed as Channel 4 sold its London headquarters, and 600 across the UK were terminated.
Some of the shows scrapped included the political show ‘The Andrew Neil Show’, the daytime programme ‘Steph’s Packed Lunch’ and the experimental show ‘Scared of the Dark’.

Ralph Fiennes reveals the future of 28 Years Later franchise and shares plot details

OHMYGOSSIP — Ralph Fiennes has revealed the first two parts of the ’28 Years Later’ trilogy have been filmed.
The 61-year-old actor stars as a doctor in the upcoming zombie-apocalypse movie – which itself is a sequel to Danny Boyle’s 2002 flick ’28 Days Later’ and Juan Carlos Fresnadillo’s ’28 Weeks Later’ in 2007 – and now Fiennes has shared the first two flicks have already completed production.
Speaking with IndieWire, he said: “It’s three films, of which two have been shot.”
The ‘Harry Potter’ star detailed the plot of the next movie, which sees director/writer duo Danny Boyle and Alex Garland return to the series after sitting out ’28 Weeks Later’.
Fiennes said: “Britain is 28 years into this terrible plague of infected people who are violent, rabid humans with a few pockets of uninfected communities. And it centres on a young boy who wants to find a doctor to help his dying mother.
“He leads his mother through this beautiful northern English terrain. But of course, around them hiding in forests and hills and woods are the infected. But he finds a doctor who is a man we might think is going to be weird and odd, but actually is a force for good.”
As well as Boyle and Garland, ’28 Days Later’ star Cillian Murphy is confirmed to be returning for the upcoming flick in a “surprise” appearance and will not be part of the main cast.
’28 Years Later’ – which is slated for release in June 2025 – will also feature Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Jack O’Connell, though details about the trio’s characters are being kept under wraps.
The following sequel, which is titled ’28 Years Later Part II: The Bone Temple’, is due to be helmed by ‘Candyman’ director Nia DaCosta with Garland and Boyle writing the script.

Kerry Katona backs ‘genuine’ Coleen Rooney’s I’m A Celeb stint 20 years after her own jungle victory

OHMYGOSSIP — Kerry Katona “can’t believe” so much time has passed since she won ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’
The 44-year-old star enjoyed a huge career revival when she won the third series of the ITV1 jungle reality survival show in 2004 following her days in Atomic Kitten and is thrilled with the news that WAG Coleen Rooney is reportedly heading Down Under to take on the same challenges.
Writing in her OK! Magazine column, she said: “I’ve been reading more reports that Coleen Rooney is heading into ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ and I think that would be amazing.
“I love Coleen and I’d be voting for her to win – I think she’s really genuine and such a nice person.
“Coleen is more private and, while I respect that about her, it would be nice to see more sides of her in the jungle. Every time it’s back I’m reminded how long ago it was that I won, I can’t believe it’s been 20 years!”
After being crowned Queen of the Jungle, Kerry went on to become the face of supermarket chain Iceland for a number of years, and then became a reality TV favourite with appearances on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’, ‘SAS: Who Dares Wins’ and was a member of the ‘Loose Women’ panel for a period of time.
Coleen – who is married to footballer Wayne Rooney – is said to have inked a deal that eclipses the £1.5 million fee that Reform leader Nigel Farage pocketed to appear on show last year, and it comes amid her long-running feud with fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy.
A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “’I’m A Celeb’ bosses have pulled off a huge coup getting Coleen for the jungle this year and the team are thrilled to have her on board.”
Coleen was unsuccessfully sued by Jamie Vardy’s wife Rebekah, 42, after she named her Instagram account as the source of leaks to the press and Rebekah was ordered to pay 90 per cent of Coleen’s legal costs – but the bill is being contested over claims it has been inflated by items including fancy dinners and stays in swanky hotels.
Rebekah was an approved follower of Coleen’s private Instagram page and Mrs Rooney was dubbed Wagatha Christie for her social media sleuthing, a reference to the legendary mystery author Agatha Christie.
The former model’s fee is said to be the highest given out to any celebrity who has appeared on the Ant and Dec-fronted series.
Rebekah took part in the show herself in 2017 and received a reported fee of £100,000 to appear.

Late Brookside star Dean Sullivan reportedly leaves huge amount in will

OHMYGOSSIP — Dean Sullivan reportedly left £660,000 to his sister Joy.
The former ‘Brookside’ star – who played Jimmy Corkhill actor on the now-defunct Channel 4 soap opera – is thought to have had a total net worth of £757,000, when he died in November 2023 aged 68 after a short illness.
According to The Sun newspaper, he “bequeathed £660,000, including properties, bank accounts and royalties from re-runs of the show, to his sister Joy”.
The will reportedly was signed off a day before he died and “told of his wish to be an organ donor” to help those in need of life-saving transplants.
It is also claimed “nearly £100k” of the actor’s was “spent on settling mortgages, paying lawyers and his funeral”.
The soap ran from 1982 until 2003 and every single episode was made available to stream on STV Player in early 2023.
It was filmed on a custom-built cul-de-sac, as opposed to the studio sets utilised by rival serials like ‘Coronation Street’ and ‘EastEnders’.
Dean did try to purchase the set, which featured 13 houses, in 2008 but it was sold on to developers for £735,000.
Last year, Dean featured on the BBC show ‘Celebrity Antiques Road Trip’ and had been due to star in a pantomime version of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ until his illness forced him to pull out.
In 2018, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, and in 2022, he was discharged by doctors after radiotherapy.
Speaking of his diagnosis in August 2023, he told the Liverpool Echo: “The way I dealt with it was that I just sort of put myself in the hands of fate. If this was my time, then this was my time so I was quite philosophical about it really.
“I know that people would worry themselves into an early grave as it were but I’m not that sort of person, I try to keep positive about things and I just got on with my life.”

JB Gill speaks out after his Strictly Come Dancing partner Amy Dowden collapses following live show

OHMYGOSSIP — JB Gill has thanked fans for their well-wishes after Amy Dowden collapsed at ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 37-year-old pop star is currently taking part in the BBC Latin and ballroom show with professional dancer Amy – who was forced to take time out of the series last year as she fought breast cancer – but had to do film the results show alone after an ambulance was called for his co-star.
He wrote on Instagram: “On behalf of both @amy_dowden and I, I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone for voting for us and wishing us well. We absolutely loved our performance on Saturday night and are SO grateful to be through to another week on @bbcstrictly Thank you, thank you, thank you for your support.”
His comments come just hours after a representative for the ‘Lorraine’ star – who was given the all-clear from cancer in February – claimed that Amy had just begun to “feel unwell” at the studio and requested privacy on her behalf.
The rep said: “Amy was feeling unwell and so an ambulance was called as a precaution. She is feeling much better and would like to thank the Strictly family for their love and concern. We request Amy’s privacy in matters of health is kindly respected.”
It was also claimed that Amy had been left in “huge distress” at the time and the only thing they could do was to rush her to hospital.
A source told The Sun: “Amy was obviously in huge distress. Everyone around her was equally upset because they felt so helpless. JB had to be given a hug. Even the medic who first attended to Amy needed support and consolation. The only thing they could do was try to get her to hospital as quickly and safely as possible.”

Venom: The Last Dance director Kelly Marcel always knew series would be a trilogy

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ director Kelly Marcel always knew the franchise would be a trilogy.
Sony’s Marvel series – which stars Tom Hardy as the Symbiote anti-hero and reporter Eddie Brock – started in 2018 with ‘Venom’ and concluded with the newly-released blockbuster but the filmmaker has stressed this was always the plan.
The 50-year-old director told PEOPLE: “We knew it would be three. We knew it was a trilogy and we knew it would end like this from the beginning.”
Marcel had co-wrote the previous two films with Hardy, 47, though ‘The Last Dance’ is the first time the filmmaker is getting behind the camera for the series.
She explained: “Sony asked me to [direct] and I was like, ‘Oh, okay then.’ I have been on the first two movies and it felt like we knew that this was the third and final one, and knew that this one was going to be both a blast but emotional as well.”
The moviemaker reflected on Hardy’s work on the franchise, and said they felt it was “the right time to step up” and create a worthy ending to the ‘Venom’ series.
She shared: “I feel like Tom and I, having spent the better part of seven years working on this, really wanted to bring this one home from inception to the finish line. It felt like the right time to step up and the right movie to do it with.”
The ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ actor agreed and added: “100 per cent.”
While the ‘Venom’ trilogy is coming to a close, Hardy recently said he would be interested in reprising the character to battle Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in a future blockbuster.
Presenting ‘The Last Dance’ at New York Comic Con, ‘The Bikeriders’ star told the crowd: “I would love to fight Spider-Man. I would love to fight him now. I’m happy to fight Spider-Man today, 100 per cent. I would never say never.
“We were specifically set up to bring Venom to a movie format, and that’s what we’ve done. ‘The Last Dance’ is the final piece in that trilogy and we’re really excited about that.”

Daniel Craig cringes over ‘terrible’ love scenes

OHMYGOSSIP — Daniel Craig has shot some “terrible love scenes” in his career.
The 56-year-old actor can next be seen opposite Drew Starkey in ‘Queer’ and he was delighted with the chemistry and bond he built up with his co-star.
He told Britain’s HELLO! Magazine: “Thank God I had him to play opposite.
“When Drew came along, it was straight into rehearsals and rolling around on the floor doing these incredible moves, so we kind of broke the ice with that.
“I’ve shot some terrible love scenes in my career. They’re out there to see.
“Again, that sort of vulnerability, openness, surrender and keeping it as real as it possibly can be.
“Sex is wonderful and messy and complicated and all of those things.
“And hopefully we’ve managed to stick that on the screen, because that’s what happens in the bedroom.
“But hopefully it looks like two people who are into each other. That’s all you could ever want.”
The movie is based on William S. Burroughs’ personal novel ‘Queer’ and is set at a time when homosexuality was still criminalized, and at its heart, Daniel viewed it as a love story the same as any other.
The actor – who plays William Lee opposite Drew as Eugene Allerton – said: “I suppose to be really in love, one has to surrender.
“I think that’s what real love is, at the end of the day. And for me, that’s what Lee is really all about. So, in a way, he led the way for me.
“We’ve all felt lost, we’ve all hopefully been in love, so those are things I can connect to very easily. But Lee is a very complicated human being.
“God, give me complicated human beings to play all day long, you know?”

‘I just couldn’t watch it’: Bruce Jones hits out at Coronation Street quality after Les Battersby axing

OHMYGOSSIP — Bruce Jones can’t watch ‘Coronation Street’.
It was revealed earlier this week that the 71-year-old actor’s alter ego Les Battersby will die off-screen but he has hit out at the current quality of the ITV soap that he starred in from 1997 until 2007.
Bruce told GB News: “I had no time when I was there to watch it, because I was in it.
“But I sat and watched ‘Corrie’ with my wife on Monday night, and at the end of part one of that show I walked out the room and I didn’t go back until I heard the music at the end. I just couldn’t watch it.
“Where were the storylines? There was no comedy. My wife said to me when I came back, ‘Why did you go out?’ I said, ‘Sandra, that is not a show I was in. That was not the show I spent 10 years in.’
“So no, I’m sorry I couldn’t watch it. I went out and I made a cup of coffee.”
Bruce admits that he feels a sense of relief about his character’s death, even though he claims that the move has left fans “annoyed” with bosses on the ITV soap.
He said: “I’ve got no problems with ‘Coronation Street’. I had ten great years with them, but they (the viewers) are pretty annoyed about it. I say, ‘There’s no point having a go at me, it’s not my fault.’
“I’m sad in one way, but I’m relieved in another. I mean, it’s time to let go now, and I’m quite pleased with that.
“The fans are not happy and all that, people are pulling me in the street saying, ‘We’re not watching it. We’re watching classic.’
“I’m getting the feedback from these people who were pretty annoyed about it; people who love Les.
“But it’s their decision. It’s their show.”

Michael Aspel misses appearing on television

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Aspel misses being on TV.
The former ‘This is Your Life’ host retired from the small screen in 2008 following his departure from ‘Antiques Roadshow’ but confessed that he hoped that he wouldn’t have to give up on his career entirely.
Speaking in a new tribute documentary on the Rewind TV channel, Michael said: “I decided when the ‘Antiques Roadshow’ gig came to an end that I might as well announce my retirement because a lot of people who have retired then become busier than ever before.
“After that I got quite a few shows… luckily the evacuation story was being celebrated and I was an evacuee so I presented several programmes on that theme.
“I do miss being on television and one of the things I miss is being away for a few days every now and then. Life now is very pleasant but I don’t go places like I used to. And I do miss that.”
Aspel revealed that he now has the sombre task of paying tribute to his TV contemporaries when they pass away.
The 91-year-old star said: “I do get called every now and then to say a few words when someone has died. That is my main job in life.”
Michael hosted the ITV chat show ‘Aspel and Company’ between 1984 and 1993 – welcoming stars such as Kate Bush, Oliver Reed and George Michael – but admits that he eventually became “underwhelmed” by some of the celebrities who appeared on the programme.
He said: “That is what happens quite a lot. It is not because you think you, yourself, have become important, it is the fact that they are simply disappointing people and had no depth in the flesh.”

Daisy Ridley’s husband Tom Bateman ‘knows the story’ of her new Star Wars movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Daisy Ridley’s husband Tom Bateman “knows the story” of her upcoming ‘Star Wars’ film.
The 32-year-old actress – who confirmed that she had married the ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ star, 35, in January 2023 – is set to reprise her role as Rey Skywalker in the new blockbuster, and has now revealed her spouse is “in the know” about what will happen in the movie but will not be giving away any spoilers.
Speaking with PEOPLE, Ridley said: “He knows the story. [He] swore to secrecy.
“It’s also interesting because there are so many more intricacies than one might [think]. If I’m describing something to you, the actual reality of what it is might be quite different. But he does know the story.”
While the ‘Young Woman and the Sea’ star insisted she was “not much of a revealer” when it came to spoilers, Ridley emphasised that she was not expecting Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy to ask her back for another ‘Star Wars’ flick.
She said: “Coming back to it, I mean, it felt, honestly, I was like, ‘Oh my God, really?’ I was really surprised when Kathleen asked, but how could I not?
“I mean, I love [Rey] as a character, and I love the films. I love the potential of the next one.”
Ridley added she has always felt “very involved” in the development of Rey and was happy to have worked with J.J. Abrams – who directed ‘The Force Awakens’ and ‘The Rise of Skywalker’ – on the character.
She explained: “I’m involved. But also it is a funny thing, though. It is strange, the ownership thing, because I do attribute so much of it to so many other people. And J.J. created her, and obviously I inhabit her.
“Performing is so interesting because in the morning how your morning goes is how you’re set up for the day. So you have amazing hair and makeup people and amazing costume people and then you are like, okay, I’m in the right zone to go and do this day.
“So I feel like performance is at the time of so many different things that I always felt really like I shared her with a lot of people in that way.”

Kaz Kamwi wants to be a Love Island ‘therapist’

OHMYGOSSIP — Kaz Kamwi would love to be a “therapist” on ‘Love Island’.
The 29-year-old reality star – who has previously appeared on ‘Love Island’ and ‘Love Island: All Stars’ – is no longer interested in being an Islander, but she would still return to the platform for one specific role.
Speaking at Captain Morgan and Pepsi MAX’s immersive pop-up, The Mixer, Kaz told the Daily Star newspaper: “I don’t think I would go back.
“I feel like the third time’s a charm, but I don’t think it would be on ‘Love Island’.”
Kaz was joined at the event in London by another former ‘Love Island’ star, Chris Taylor.
Chris, 34, also insisted that he wouldn’t want to compete on a dating show ever again, observing that he’s already “failed three times”.
The TV star shared: “I’ve definitely taken a step away from dating shows – I’ve done enough. I’ve done three.
“You don’t need any more than that. If you’ve failed three times, who carries on after that?”
Kaz then quipped: “I’ve failed twice … does that mean I have to go one more time? Third time lucky? But not ‘All Stars’.”
Despite this, Kaz subsequently revealed that she could be tempted to return to the ‘Love Island’ platform if she was to be made a “therapist” on the TV show.
The reality star also joked that ITV2 would have to offer her an attractive contract.
Kaz – who was a finalist on the seventh series of ‘Love Island’ back in 2021 – said: “I’d go back on and be everyone’s therapist – I was quite good at that. So get in touch ITV2 and run me my money!”

Ben Whishaw doesn’t get to meet Paddington co-stars or fly out to exotic filming locations

OHMYGOSSIP — Ben Whishaw never got to meet his ‘Paddington’ co-stars on set as the voice actor of the titular bear.
The 44-year-old actor has voiced Paddington Bear in 2014’s ‘Paddington’, its 2017 sequel ‘Paddington 2’, the follow-up television series, and now ‘Paddington in Peru’, but because he doesn’t have to physically be on set to do his job, he hasn’t been on set during filming.
This means he also didn’t get flown out to Peru and Colombia for the latest instalment, which sees Antonio Banderas and Olivia Colman play Hunter Cabot and The Reverend Mother, respectively.
He told Radio Times magazine: “I would have loved to have gone to Peru and Colombia, but I didn’t get to go. I was just in a basement in Soho the entire time.
Asked if he met the cast, he replied: “I don’t meet them. I never met Antonio [Banderas ] or Olivia [Colman] for this film, but I hope I will at some point, because I watched their performances and enjoyed them so enormously. On Paddington 2, I never saw Hugh Grant, not once.”
The ‘Mary Poppins Returns’ star also admitted he is not a fan of his character’s favourite snack.
He said: “Sadly, I don’t like marmalade. It really doesn’t agree with me at all, but I am a big Marmite lover. Marmite with Lurpak butter on toast is, to me, pretty much heaven.”

Maura Higgins to replace Tommy Fury in I’m A Celebrity?

OHMYGOSSIP — Maura Higgins is being lined up to replace Tommy Fury in ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’
The 25-year-old boxer had been in talks for the upcoming series of the ITV show but after he pulled out, his former ‘Love Island’ co-star Maura, 33, was approached by show bosses.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “With Tommy Fury pulling out it gave show bosses the opportunity to look at other ‘Love Island’ stars and Maura stood out as the perfect candidate.
“She’ll bringing a bit of glamour to the jungle and make a brilliant campmate because she’s got a great sense of humour and is bound to get on with everyone.
“It’s shaping up to be a strong year for woman on ‘I’m A Celebrity’ this year.”
Show bosses were reluctant to have two ‘Love Island’ stars on the show at the same time so Tommy’s exit has paved the way for Maura.
Additionally, Maura is close friends with Tommy’s former fiancee Molly Mae Hague and there are hopes she could shed some light on the reason for their sudden split recently.
Tommy has admitted he was “heartbroken” by the split and slammed rumours he had been unfaithful to the mother of his 20-month-old daughter Bambi.
He wrote on Instagram: “These last few weeks have been heartbreaking.
“The false allegations about me have been horrendous, thank you to everybody who has stood by me through this.”
Tommy had reportedly spent months in negotiations for ‘I’m A Celeb’ but just a few weeks before the celebrity contestants were set to fly out to Australia ahead of the reality competition’s return on 17 November, he was offered a more lucrative project, which is believed to be a rematch with KSI.
A source the TV Biz column: “Bosses are surprised Tommy has chosen to pull out of ‘I’m A Celebrity’ at this late stage as it would have been a great opportunity for him too.”

Spider-Man 4 set for 2026 release

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Spider-Man 4’ will be released on July 24, 2026.
The fourth movie starring Tom Holland as the titular superhero will start filming next summer and is set to be released in 2026, Sony has announced.
Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna, who wrote 2021’s ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ are writing the script while Destin Daniel Cretton will direct.
The film will be released one week after Christopher Nolan’s next movie, which will also star Tom.
Tom previously admitted he had signed up for Nolan’s next movie – without knowing what it is about.
He is “incredibly excited” about starring in the unknown project and admitted it was a “phone call of a lifetime” when he was presented with the opportunity to take part in the forthcoming film.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning America’, he said: “All I can say is that I’m incredibly excited… but that’s all I can say because, to be honest, that’s all I know.”
Asked if Nolan was the type of director Holland would say yes to “sight unseen”, he replied: “100 per cent, without a shadow of a doubt.”
Holland admitted receiving a call about Nolan’s upcoming project reminded him of signing up to star as Peter Park/ Spider-Man, who he has already portrayed in six movies.
He said: “When the opportunity came in, it was the phone call of a lifetime.
“It was reminiscent of getting the call about ‘Spider-Man’ 10 years ago.
“It’s an amazing thing for me. I’m super proud and I’m really, really excited.”
Meanwhile, Tom recently revealed he and girlfriend Zendaya – who plays Peter Parker’s partner MJ in the ‘Spider-Man’ movies – were “bouncing around the room” with excitement after reading the first draft of the script for ‘Spider-Man 4’.
Speaking on the ‘Rich Roll Podcast’, Holland said: “It needs work, but the writers are doing a great job.
“I read it three weeks ago, and it really lit a fire in me. Zendaya and I sat down and read it together, and we at times were bouncing around the living room like, ‘This is a real movie worthy of the fans’ respect.’ But there’s a few things we need to figure out before we can get that really going, but it’s exciting.”

Daisy Ridley scared to play Rey again

OHMYGOSSIP — Daisy Ridley admitted she is scared to play Rey again in ‘Star Wars’.
The 32-year-old actress will reprise the role in Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s ‘Star Wars: New Jedi Order’ and while she is excited, she revealed she feels nervous about playing the character once more.
She told The Hollywood Reporter: “I feel like the new one/new ones will be so interesting. Time has passed and a lot has changed for me, personally, so it’ll be interesting to come back to someone who I know so well, but in such a different moment. For me to inhabit Rey again after all the time that we haven’t seen her, it’s actually scary, but it’s also exciting.”
Daisy also revealed how “trippy” it was when she came face to face with a costumed cast member who was playing Rey at Disneyland.
She said: “It was really trippy when I finally met ‘myself’. I had been on the Rise of the Resistance ride for the first time, and I was like, ‘This is insane!’ I remember filming [Rey’s holographic introduction], and that ride is unbelievable. I then went and met the person that was inhabiting Rey, and I had been told that the [costumed cast members] study the performances in the films. So the woman I met had studied me, and that was really strange. Watching someone who has studied me, play me, that was meta, but she did an amazing job. She also didn’t break character. But, no, I don’t think I will ever get used to things like that.”

JB Gill’s Strictly marriage bonus

OHMYGOSSIP — JB Gill says ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ is improving his marriage.
The 37-year-old JLS star is getting in shape thanks to gruelling rehearsals with his professional dance partner Amy Dowden and his wife Chloe is extremely impressed.
He told The Sun newspaper: “The six-pack is incoming! I’ve definitely lost a lot of weight, and we’ve not even done half of the up-tempo numbers yet. So if I’m in here for the long haul, then, you know, the weight will ¬definitely be chipping off me.
“I think Chloe’s loving it, too. The other day she said to me, ‘Can you speak to Costume and get your arms out because your arms are looking good!’ I’m not used to these compliments flying about.
“You know, I’m here for it. Now I’ll have to listen to my wife and get the guns out — I need to keep her happy as well. Hopefully it’ll keep the viewers at home happy, too.”
While Chloe is impressed with her husband’s new physique, she is jealous that she can’t take part in the training too.
He said: “I think people underestimate just how physically good dancing is for our bodies.
“I think my wife is very jealous. She’s already said to me she’s so upset because I’ve been doing this and she’s not been able to do it too and reap the physical benefits!”
JB and Amy recently found themselves in the dance-off against Paul Merson and Karen Hauer but were saved by the judges.
JB said: “We got a score of 30, so it was hardly shabby, but of course it’s always disappointing.
“When you put so much work into training and work hard throughout the week, to not have the result you want and find yourself in the dance-off is disheartening.
“It’s not what you’re looking for, but the level of the competition this year is very high. You can see the standard is right up there, so it’s just one of those things.
“I felt like I’d done everything I could and then to know I was going up against Paul was heartbreaking.”
